Hey IF-seal, so i have had an idea for writing an IF where the MC is genderlocked female and her love interests are female too. I am very concerned and anxious that if I put out this project people won't be interested as there isn't much agency when it comes to the gender of the MC and the LIs but I have been so passionate about writing a wlw story with a choices format and I really want to pursue it, I don't have a big reason for making the MC gender locked other than the fact that I have always wanted to write female characters that are different than usual like see them in contexts in which usually males are seen in and making female LIs is because that's the only romance i feel comfortable writing. Should i go for it or dump it?
Dear WLW-writing Friend,
I am taking your hands in my flippers and entreating you:
Please write your F/F story.
I do not wish to be contrary but I will gently contradict you when you say you do not have a big reason for your MC to be gender-locked. In fact you have at least three which you have said to me already!
writing female love interests is where you are comfortable
you would like to write female characters in contexts in which male characters are typically seen
you are passionate about writing a WLW story
And if you only felt the final bullet point, that would be enough.
There are other ways in which players can be given agency in these types of games than the gender of the PC or romanceable characters. (In fact, there are plenty of decisions to be made about the types of agency you want to give players too - which is perhaps for another longer post.)
It is true that there are people who will not want to play as a female character - I will not dispute that - but there are also plenty who will. And there will be people who will be immensely excited about the fact that you are specifically writing a WLW game. They are your audience for this story!
Best of luck with your writing, friend.

ASTERISM the artificial intelligence
ANAIS
Short for Autonomous Neural Artificial Intelligence System, Anais is a revolutionary artificial intelligence. One of a dozen that were concurrently created by the Stanton-Grant Corporation in an experiment that would change the world, Anais was coded in a lab by a group of engineers, scientists, and psychologists. Once the experimental subjects were chosen, she was brought online and introduced to you, her partner.
Communicating primarily via text and voice, you and Anais became very close over the ensuing year. After all, you were about to become a part of one another. If you didn't get along with her, the implants would likely fail, or at the very least, cause you both extreme distress.
But the integration want smoothly, and now, you can't imagine life without your partner.

Suevi is an interactive fiction WIP - Chapter 1 out now!
This story is about finding love and surviving in Ancient Rome... as a Germanic slave.
[Demo Link]
Prologue - 5.5k words (without code)
Chapter 1 - 21.5k words (without code) - added June 8th 2025
[genres: romance, historical fiction, low fantasy, dark]
This book is for mature audience only (18+). It's currently still in early development and everything released is subject to possible change. The book will contain mature themes like slavery, abuse of any kind, sexual content (mostly optional), death of people and animals (the latter for food and sacrificial purposes), diseases, suicidal ideations, homophobia, transphobia, body dysmorphia, possible self mutilation, swearing, attempted non consensual intercourse (this is not a definitive list of triggers!).
There will be trigger warnings at the beginning of each chapter.
This is a work of fiction. Wherever possible and plausible, I incorporate information that is available about how Germanic tribes lived, how Germanic slaves were treated, what life in a Roman city looked like etc.
However, especially about the Germanic tribes, and about the timeframe I chose, there is only very little information. They did have runes but only used them for ritualistic purposes, never to write anything down; they had no written languages. Because of that, actual legitimate information is extremely scarce, and the information that we have is mostly written from an "enemy" point of view - the Romans.
I might somewhat substitute with things we know about the vikings, which technically also were Germanic tribes, but they lived quite some hundred years after the timespan I aim for the main story of this IF to be set in (which is essentially shortly after/around 14 CE).
Other choices and possible changes of actual facts/information about the historical times and people are made for flavour and for the readers' comfort.
Because some people don't seem to understand:
I am not a historian. I am merely one person researching and writing this as a hobby. It will not be 100% historically accurate. It is still a work of fiction and I take creative liberties.
Movies with massive budgets and several research assistants have historical inaccuracies in them. Please let me also have some.
After a skirmish close to the Roman border, you are captured and transported to a city. Your capturer forces you into slavery and sells you off to a patrician family — wealthy Romans, in social and political standings only underneath the Emperor.
Desperately you try to adapt to these new circumstances — you don't even speak their language, know nothing about their culture... It's a whole different world for you. At first, you struggle to even communicate with the people that call themselves your "familia". Will you manage to live amongst them, or will you refuse to obey the rules and orders you are unfamiliar with?
What will your fate be? Will you stay with your new family, will you try to escape to your old family, or will you look for a better future elsewhere?
Will you try to abandon old beliefs and adapt to new ones? Or is the hold of the old Gods too strong on you to let go?
And what role does the person who enslaved you really play in all of this?
Customize your own Suevi — choose your sex, gender, sexuality, looks, the God you mainly pray to and your former occupation (depending on the tribe you are from).
Pick one of five love interests (includes one poly option):
Ing (Ingunn/Ingram), the quiet and angry Cherusci servant (f/m) [Tropes: Friends (to Enemies) to Lovers // Clueless Love // REDACTED]
Aquila (always named Aquila), the cheerful, friendly Roman artist (m/f/nb) [Trope: Sex first, feelings later — Fast burn fling, Slow burn romance]
D (Dewognata/Dagomaros), the Gaul weaver with a tragic backstory (f/m) [Tropes: Rescue Romance // (Not so) Secret Admirer]
Nefer (Nefertari/Neferkare), the chronically tired, sarcastic Nubian merchant (f/m) [Trope: Secret identity/Dark secret]
Xen (Xeno/Xenon), the gentle and wise Greek teacher (f/m) [Tropes: Single Parent // Child as matchmaker // Age gap]
Poly option: MC x Ing x Aquila
Find love, have a good time with no strings attached (flings!) or just do your own thing (and hopefully escape slavery).

DEMO - [TBA: July 2025] | RO INTROS | RO APPEARANCES
You're nothing if you weren't born to be a star.
You've spent your entire life unwanted and ignored, from curious eyes drifting right over you to the next person to talent agents and competition judges brushing you off without even sparing you a second thought. Blindsided when you were left behind by the one person who you thought believed in you, you're done standing in the shadows waiting for someone to take notice of you.
You're set out to prove them all dead wrong.
However... determination alone isn't enough to carry you through the music industry's ruthless pursuit to snuff out the dreams of young talents before they even catch a spark. You need a certain type of long-lasting grittiness to survive the low-paying gigs hosted in the seediest bars imaginable. Especially when three years after you moved to the Angel's City, those same bars are still your main source of income, despite having cultivated a decent online following.
But finally, the stars have aligned, and you have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity from somewhere you never saw coming. Elysium's lead vocalist and Olympian Records' holy grail, a rockstar with the most massive—and arguably most obsessed—fanbase in the country has clocked you as the next big thing to grace the music scene. They’ve convinced Olympian you’ll be the next them in ten years, placing some high expectations on your shoulders.
Whether their endorsement is a magnificent stroke of luck or a curse that threatens to poison every choice you make from here on out, you'll rise to the occasion because there's no other option for someone like you.
Until you're a star, you'll never stop reaching for the sky.
Play as an up-and-coming singer, determined to fight their way to the top of the charts no matter the cost.
Customize your own predestined star's appearance, personality, and career image. Are you confident or anxiety-ridden? Open and friendly or aloof and defensive? Are you loved by the public or do they love to hate you? Is fame and the stage or your music more important to you?
Design your own music and lyrics, and choose from one of three mainstream genres (rock, pop, or both of them combined: pop-rock) to focus on. Write about whatever your little heart desires, as long as the label approves it.
Choose your biggest strength, the attribute that allows you to stand out above all the others; do you have the voice of an angel, perfect for any type of song? Or are your songwriting capabilities unmatchable by even those who boast the most prestigious awards?
Launch a passionate romance with one of nine available options and try not to let it ruin your budding career in the process. Straying too close to the fire means you're bound to get burned eventually.
Navigate what it means to be an artist under Olympian's label. Are you relishing in the attention and luxury, or is it all a little too uncomfortable? Is every rumor you hear the truth, or are they all coming down from the top? Will you compromise your artistic vision to garner their favor, or will you fight tooth and nail for the authenticity of your music?
Explore LA and Hollywood while experiencing all the fun (and not-so-fun) pastimes they have to offer and meeting some famous names with wildly different intentions.
Open for the biggest band in the country, joining them on their world tour and flying from place to place on their private jet. Paris, London, Rome, New York, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Orlando all of it awaits you.
And, most of all, watch as your name goes up in flashing lights and you transform into the star you were always meant to be.
★ The Rockstar: Tristan/Trisha Hydra, aka HADES/MEDUSA (m/f) ★
The witty, hypnotizing, and impulsive egomaniac lead vocalist of Elysium, the band with the world record for most-sold album ever. With their endorsement, Hydra seems to have made themselves your unofficial mentor, and you their protégé. Is that because they truly believe you're meant for the big leagues, or because they made a rash decision in the heat of the moment and now they're facing the consequences?
★ The Traitor: Jonah/Juliette Ziegler (m/f) ★
Your former best friend who abandoned you when they hit it big is nothing like you remember them to be. That mischievous and dazzlingly charming kid with dreams bigger than the whole sky vanished without a trace in your absence. All that remains is a frost so icy you'd almost think you were the one who wronged them.
★ The Ride or Die: Cia/Cian Avila (m/f) ★
You're not sure how you would've survived this long without your now-roommate and longtime friend, the blunt, snarky, and constantly irritated by something electric guitarist/tattoo apprentice Cia/Cian Aliva. When LA's being its usual brutal self, you can always count on them to be there when you get home, however much they may grumble about moving here in the first place.
★ The Manager: Ethan/Elena Sun (m/f) ★
Every famous superstar needs an equally talented manager. With a cleverness that could rival the King of Ithaca, an unwavering devotion to their client's success, and a creativity that makes you wonder why they don't write songs themselves, E is the epitome of a perfect manager on paper. But how much of it is genuine exactly?
★ The Pop Princess: Natalie "Marigold" (f) ★
The pop music sensation has another claim to fame than just her music; her widely scrutinized long-term relationship with T Hydra. Even the most astute of internet sleuths can say with certainty that nobody saw that relationship coming. Overnight, she—and her music—skyrocketed to the top of the trending searches. And now everyone in America knows her name because you can't mention Hydra without thinking of Marigold. She's scored the dream life everyone wants, that's what they all say.
★ The Rival: Damian/Devyn Thunder (m/f) ★
Cocky jackass. That's the best way to describe C Thunder. They're undeniably talented and their voice is one most people would kill for, but all of that's offset by their insufferable smirk and smug demeanor. You'd sooner jump off a bridge than spend a single minute alone with them, but Olympian seems to have other plans after signing them.
★ The Sweetheart: Stella/Eli Rose (m/f) ★
The other winner of Upstaged Season two and the only child of a beloved late actor, they're (one of) Hydra's notorious rival. You're not sure what rule of Upstaged says it's required to hate your competition to win, but Hydra's certainly fulfilled it. Rose… you get the feeling they couldn't care less about whatever grudge Hydra holds against them. How could they when they're being pulled in a hundred different directions daily without a break?
★ The Daredevil: Lucifer "Luci" Morningstar (m/f) ★
The Olympian-signed electric guitarist is the classic image of a daredevil; chaotic, reckless, and far too relaxed causing havoc. It's no surprise some of the gossip magazines have dubbed them as batshit crazy. An accurate rating, they'd remark. You get the feeling they're a little proud of the title, or maybe they've just chosen to embrace it.
★ The Bodyguard: Bellamy Ortega (m) ★
Cool, calm, and collected isn't enough to define Hydra's personal bodyguard—also coincidentally your new neighbor—as you get a distinct feeling that even getting stabbed wouldn't faze him. So, obviously, Hydra's constant game of putting their life and reputation in danger for the thrill doesn't either. Or maybe he’s just had a lot of practice pretending it doesn't.
★ Rue Bèrd: (f) ★
A keyboardist signed with Olympian who freelances as your friend in her spare time.
★ Adrian Park: (genderfluid) ★
A producer employed by Olympian and Rue's long-term partner. They're also your friend when they want to be.
★ Karry Cenderat: (f) ★
Elysium's manager who conjures up a miracle every time she keeps another scandal from reaching the press's grubby hands.
★ Billy Matthews: (m) ★
The mysterious owner of the record label who drops by to see how things are going once in a blue moon.
★ Johnny Locks: (m) ★
A sold-out stadium rockstar whose second claim to fame is being dubbed the nicest guy in rock. Also famously Hydra's first, and only, mentor.
★ Samson Ryland: (nb) ★
The bass guitarist of your new band. They're welcoming enough, but you've been around enough musicians to know they're wary of you joining the group.
★ Anthony Lance: (m) ★
The drums, Anthony doesn't feel the need to pretend for niceties sake. He doesn't like you intruding in the band and he makes that very known.
Crescendo is rated 18+.
P.S. There are a multitude of spoilers below this.
All of the following are elements that will eventually be in the final game. There will be specific content warnings available at the start of every chapter. Please read at your own discretion; this story may be distressing for some readers.
Mentions and/or depictions of mild and moderate violence
Mentions and depictions of drug and alcohol use/abuse and addiction

Smalltown, Nowhere (an Interactive Fiction game)
a slice-of-life game set in a small town with a focus on romantic, platonic, and family relationships
After getting laid off from your swanky job in the city, you are left with no choice but to move back to your rural hometown, Bridgewater, while you get your life back together. Your parents let you move into the apartment above their bar, with one condition- you pick up some shifts and help their once-popular bar get more customers again. But life in a small town can get messy quick, and even though Bridgewater comes with a lot of mess, it’s hard not to get attached to the small town and the people that reside in it. As you start to build a life here, you realize you have a big decision in your future: will you stay or will you go?

Play as female, male, transmasc, transfem, or nonbinary; gay, straight, bi, aro, or ace.
Customize your mc’s appearance
Develop your personality over the course of the book.
Romance one of 4 romanceable characters: your best friend, their (moody) twin sibling, a single parent, or the kind but mysterious bartender.
Develop friendships with the cast.
Customize the bar: choose a theme, decorate, set the vibes.
Make a big decision: do you stay in your hometown, or move away again?
Make decisions that impact your reputation in the town.
Get involved with the town: volunteer at local businesses, help plan town events, and get to know the people of Bridgewater.
Apply for jobs in the city… or procrastinate.

all gender selectable
Spencer | 28 : Spencer has been your best friend since childhood, but you haven’t lived in the same place since you were 18. For the last ten years, you’ve stayed in touch, but living 2 minutes away again will be completely different. Spencer is kind, funny, and creative, and there’s not much they wouldn’t do for you.
Spencer has dark brown hair, brown eyes, and tan skin. m!Spencer has medium length wavy hair and is 5’11. f!Spencer’s falls to her chest and is slightly wavy. f!Spencer is 5’8.
Arden | 28 : Arden runs Bridgewater’s community center and is the glue that holds the town together. They’re generous, patient, and mature- or so you’re told. They’ve never acted like that toward you. Arden is Spencer’s twin, and you’ve just been their sibling’s friend who’s always around, and always annoying. Moving back to Bridgewater could be a chance to start fresh, or you can pick up right where you left off.
Arden has dark brown hair, brown eyes, tan skin, and a small scar above their right eyebrow. m!Arden has medium length, slighty wavy hair and is 5’11. f!Arden’s hair is mid-back length and wavy and she is 5’8.
if Arden and Spencer are the same gender, they are identical twins.
Noel/le | 31 : Noel/le is a history teacher, the coach of the local high school’s football team and an occasional musician at the bar. A relative newcomer to Bridgewater, N moved here after the birth of their daughter, Tatum, in order to be closer to Tatum’s other parent. Noel/le is gentle, responsible, active, and cautious- especially when it comes to who they let into their life.
Noel/le has pale, freckled skin and green eyes. Noel has short light brown hair, broad shoulders, and he stands at 6’1. Noelle’s hair ends between her jaw and shoulder, and she stands at 5’10. Noel/le has a toned build.
Kit | 30 : Kit moved to town a few months after you left and works for your parents as a bartender when they aren’t studying at a nearby college. In your absence, they became close with your parents. Despite this, Kit is one of the few people in Bridgewater who doesn’t seem to be here permanently. Kit is hardworking, intelligent, and extremely driven. They have a lot they want to achieve, and romance just doesn’t fit into that.
Kit has rich brown skin and brown eyes. m!Kit has buzzcut and is 6’0, and f!Kit’s long hair is in many braids that reach mid-back and is 5’9. Kit has a lithe body.

--The hungry mouth of Bridehall Manor lets out its clarion call. You have been compelled to answer.
DEMO OUT NOW!
You play as the youngest child of the Simonson family, born out of infidelity-- a perfect Victorian scandal. Due to your unfortunate birth circumstances, your parents have decided to send you away to take up a position as household manager at the remote Bridehall Manor after the previous one's untimely (and altogether strange) passing. You expect your time in the mansion in the Catskills of New York to be uneventful and isolating.
You'd be wrong.
The longer you stay at Bridehall, the more secrets you find hidden behind its mahogany doors, beneath its ornate wallpaper, under its rich hardwood floors, and especially within the denizens of the house themselves.
Just be careful not to drown in the deep, deep black of its shadows.
+ Customize your MC-- what's their attitude towards society? How do they feel about working at Bridehall? What are their thoughts on the supernatural?
+ Also, choose your gender,* interests, personality, name, and more.
+ Discover more about the (troubling) history of Bridehall and the people that have lived in it.
+ Experience the world's most uncomfortable carriage ride.
+ Romance 1 of 5 ROs-- the matriarch, the minister-in-training, the runner-up, the major, or the phantom.
+ Befriend those who live there, or make enemies. Connection is a fragile thing, especially in a place like Bridehall.
+ Blood sacrifices! If you're into that sort of thing.
TW: Gore (not extremely descriptive), mentions of infidelity, violence, brief suggestive content, mentions of animal death, mentions of drug use. This IF is recommended for those 16+
================================================*Disclaimer: Because this IF is inspired by the 1880s, gender roles are still sort of a thing. There is an option to play as femme/masc non-binary, but based on your presentation, that affects how you are treated in society and some additional world aspects. However, there will not be any transphobia/intentional misgendering in this IF. It's just not something I want to write. I'm not non-binary myself, so I'm very open to suggestions on things to change relating to this topic.
================================================
🌑Harriet Margrave -- the matriarch -- (she/her) {FMCs only}
| Assured. Respectable. Intimidating. The wife of Amos Margrave, although she doesn't like it when people bring it up. She runs the house, some might say with an iron fist. She seems to have taken a dangerous liking to you.
| However, beneath her strong, cool exterior, she's not all that she seems-- you catch glimpses of something dark and curious lurking. It's up to you to decide whether it should never see the light of day or, perhaps, to be consumed entirely by it.
| Harriet is in her late 40s, with ash brown hair always kept in a neat, complex updo and deep blue eyes that shift with tones of green in different lights. She has a light but rosy complexion and stands at around 5'7. She tends to wear a lot of black, as if she's in perpetual mourning, although she doesn't mind an occasional blue accent.
"Low and deep Spake in mine ear her voice: "And didst thou dream, This could be buried? This could be sleep? And love be thrall to death! Nay, whatso seem, Have faith, dear heart; this is the thing that is!" Thereon I woke, and on my lips her kiss." -- snippet of Assurance (1887) by Emma Lazarus
================================================
🌒Ansel Margrave -- the minister-in-training -- (he/him)
| Flighty. Devout. Gentle. A hopeful future Methodist minister, he's recently been plagued by supernatural visions (or so he says,) and your arrival and the circumstances surrounding it do nothing to calm his worries. You may be able to reassure him otherwise.
| As you get to know him, he may reveal that he has far better reasons to be afraid than you might think. Will you walk with him through his troubles, or leave him to wander the solemn corridors of Bridehall on his own?
| Ansel is in his early 20s, and he looks much like his mother with his ashy brown hair and pale complexion, although due to its lack of rosiness it sometimes borders on ghostly. He'd like to dress more vibrantly but fears reprisal from his clerical peers, thus, he usually sticks to muted greens and browns. He stands at around 5'9, and wears spectacles.
"In solitude profound, As shadows fall, what memories, Thick as dew-drops on sun-risen meadows Troop around thee!" -- snippet of Night In Egypt (1880) by George Vaughan
================================================
🌓Cecil/ia Blumenthal -- the runner-up -- (gender selectable, he/him or she/her)
| Independent. Scrappy. Creative. C's been working at Bridehall for practically their whole life, climbing the ranks until they could finally reach the position of head butler/housekeeper they deserved-- until you came along. In their eyes, you have everything you want on a silver platter, and how much work have you done to get it? None. In short, they've got a real bone to pick with you. Will you play into the feud, or maybe try to change their feelings? Honestly, best of luck on that one.
| Because of how long they've been at Bridehall, C knows more about its history and secrets than they let on. Much, much more.
| C is in their mid-20's, with shiny brown curls that F!C keeps in an artfully rushed bun and M!C keeps just a bit too long. They have coffee-brown eyes and warm, tanned skin dotted with freckles. They stand at 5'6. They prefer to dress for convenience rather than style, but they always wear a tarnished silver brooch in the shape of a bird-- F!C pins it to her collar, while M!C pins it to his lapel.
"I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow. And I waterd it in fears, Night & morning with my tears: And I sunned it with smiles, And with soft deceitful wiles. And it grew both day and night. Til it bore an apple bright. And my foe beheld it shine, And he knew that it was mine." -- snippet of A Poison Tree (1794) by William Blake
================================================🌔 Marshall Ward -- the major -- (he/they)
| Outgoing. Empathetic. Perfectionist. A new arrival at Bridehall like you, he's an old family friend of the Margraves who plans to stay for the autumn. He's the perfect picture of polite society-- porcelain smiles and impeccable manners. Despite the divide between him as a guest and you as the help, he insists on making a connection with you. One that may be a bit too strong for his own good.
| Now, you don't know much about the military yourself, but it is a bit odd that a non-retired military officer was permitted leave for an entire season, and whenever you ask questions surrounding his arrival, you only get heavy silence in return. It's as if there's a tight wire of secrecy underlying his sunny veneer, and the more you press, the more it's likely to snap.
| Marshall is in his early 30s, with short, coily black hair and an impeccably combed mustache. They have light tan skin and have a small scar running across their cheek, and he stands at 6'2. He is very meticulous in the way he dresses and is particularly fond of red ties with embroidered patterns on them.
"Volleyed and thundered; Stormed at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell. They that had fought so well Came through the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. -- snippet of The Charge of the Light Brigade (1854) by Lord Alfred Tennyson ================================================
🌕Annabelle -- the phantom -- (she/her)
| Mysterious. Quiet. Ethereal. Every so often, out of the corner of your eye or the reflection in a mirror, you catch a glimpse of her. Is she even real, or is she simply a product of your own mind, spiraling ever deeper into instability? Whatever she is, you feel an indescribable, intangible pull to her that may become very hard to resist.
| Annabelle is inextricably linked to the house and its history. If you dig to learn more about her, you may unearth the very roots that Bridehall stands on. Roots that it would very much like to keep underground.
| Annabelle appears to be in her mid-20s, although the semi-translucent, filmy aspect to her makes it a bit hard to tell. She has very dark skin that glitters and shines under moonlight, and she seems to be perpetually wet, as if she had just been thrown in a pond. She wears a pale pink dress a decade or so out of date, and stands at about 5'3.
"For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling-- my darling-- my life and my bride, In her sepulchre there by the sea-- In her tomb by the sounding sea. -- snippet of Annabel Lee (1849) by Edgar Allan Poe

Rage comes naturally to you. With how much life has messed with you it's only fair that you use your anger. That's why you became a boxer. The thrill of breaking an opponent. And hoping they might break you in turn. They never do though. Every fight is a disappointment, almost as much of a disappointment as they pay for each fight.
Enter Jackie Roth, club owner, mob boss, and former god. When she offers you a job you can't say no. Not that you would, not when she and everyone in her gang feel so familiar to you. At least with this job you'll be able to use that rage inside you more.
As you learn the ways of the criminal underground you reconnect with people you never met. Reforge bonds that you've never made. And recall memories you've never had. You were a god once upon a time, can you become one again?
God Syndicate is an interactive novel where you play the newest incarnation of Ares, The God of War. It's 18+ for violence, explicit sexual themes, drug use, morally questionable behavior, and more.
Customize your MC, play male, female, or nonbinary. With transgender options and pronoun selection. Customize your appearance and develop your personality.
Romance or befriend a cast of characters, including gods with more issues than you can count or even a mortal! Asexual and Aromantic options available.
Show the gods why you were feared all those years ago or prove that you're better than your past lives.
Uncover the mystery of disappearing gods as well as the mystery of your past.
Help out Elysium, the club where you'll practically live from now on. It seems to attract gods and that isn't always good.
Take out your anger on people who might even deserve it.
Zeus: Jackie Roth - She/Her. [Not an RO]
Jackie is The King of The Gods and she makes sure everyone knows it. Her word is law in Elysium and beyond. Fail her and you'll have a storm waiting for you. In the years since your disappearance Jackie's love for her family has seem to only grow. But she has a criminal empire to run and you're just the weapon she needs.
Hermes: Riley Liao Zhi - Gender Selectable. [RO]
The Messenger of The Gods. Or in Riley's case, the ever bored personal assistant to Jackie. Riley's an adrenaline junkie with a heart of gold. As the one who found you they feel almost responsible for you. But why do they also seem so afraid of you?
Apollo: Franco Valerio - He/Him. [RO]
As expected of The God of Music, Franco's your classic rich and famous rock star. Well he would be, if only he could get out of Elysium. His love of singing and love of his family are two chains he can't break that tie him here. Will your arrival help break those chains or tighten them?
Aphrodite: Damiana "Dame" Rivette - Gender Selectable. [RO]
Quiet and Serious, Dame is no longer The God of Love they once were. The passion of their life faded and now bitterness grows where love should. The only friend they have in Elysium seems to be their fiance, Johnny. To make their life even worse, you arrive.
The Mortal: Sigourney Hawthorn - She/Her. [RO]
Newly divorced from a god, Sigrouney struggles with juggling her (demigod) child, relentless job, and love life. As her daughter, Claudia, grows she wonders if she can keep up or if she'll be left behind. And now with your arrival Claudia's godly family gets bigger and her presence gets smaller.
Artemis: Rebel Reyes - Gender Selectable [RO]
How can The God of the Hunt thrive in the city? The prey here are either too weak or too annoying to hunt. The only thing Rebel craves is to feel that thrill again. With your arrival they have a perfect chance, who better to hunt than the God of War? They can't wait to meet you.
The Old Flame: Harper Ward - Gender Selectable [RO]
A friend from a better time. Harper and you were once inseparable. They saw you at your darkest and kept you calm. Years after an explosive break up they've reemerged into your life far different than you knew them. Can you find the dying embers of your old friend? Is it even worth the pain?

Until you don’t, you’re kept alive. Here, against your will. Trained and yielded to be a tool. In the next ten years of your life, you will become a prized captive under the King’s guard. Wallowing in hate, waiting for your time to come to an end. Then the dragons appear, the royal family is assassinated, a rebellion ensues, and all the problems are pointed towards you.
Can you prove your innocence? Is it even worth it to try?

Dear if-seal! I want to try to write an interactive novel, but I'm not sure what to do with the romantic options , what would be the pros and cons of making them gender flippable vs. gender set? Have a good day!
Dear Romantically Curious Friend,
Truly it is up to what pulls on your own heartstrings, but I shall share some of my insights!
I confess I am fond of flippable characters for a number of reasons:
-it means that I do not require a larger cast for readers to have a wide variety of romanceable characters of genders they enjoy; it is also sometimes possible to have an entirely nonbinary set of romanceable characters, for instance, which does not usually happen
-it is a way of showing that gender does not have to have a major effect on a character's personality; it can perhaps push me, or readers, away from assumptions about "what a woman should look and behave like" and such
-it can be satisfying to play with those assumptions
-it is a way of giving players an experience tailored more precisely to their tastes
Where there are some pitfalls are:
-it is a lot of work. It is a lot of work to write pronouns and verbs as variables, and to branch descriptions or interactions differently
-it is easier to end up writing generic descriptions, because the variables can trick you into thinking you are writing more specifically
-it makes it possible for players to navigate a world in which most of the major characters include no women, or no nonbinary people, or no men; this may not be your intended or ideal play experience
-when writing you have to hold several different iterations of the same character in your head and consider them all, which is a lot of brain activity when writing is, of course, an intensive creative activity already
-sometimes players feel that a flippable character is less "defined" or solid to them than a set one; I do not always agree, but perhaps there is less wiggle room with a flippable character
An unfortunate reality is that some types of characters are more popular as some genders than others. You will have probably seen less excitement about trans characters than cis ones, or perhaps less people thrilled about women's wrongs than men's ones; some readers are far less forgiving about female characters' behaviour.
At the same time you will find that a great many people are very excited about these characters! And you too may be more excited about them being defined as those selves - so if that is the case, that is very much something to embrace.
I think that the best decision to make about this is the one that makes you excited about your characters. There is no right or wrong answer.
Thank you very much for your question. May your characters find all the love they desire!

⚡ Echoes of Olympus
A myth-based interactive story about gods, rebellion, memory — and the people caught between power and purpose.
Echoes of Olympus is a myth-inspired interactive story about gods, rebellion — and the people caught between power and purpose.
You play as a lesser god(dess), sent into a divine war to crush a mortal uprising.
But when you're captured by those you were meant to destroy, something shifts.
The lines between loyalty and truth begin to blur.
And the choices you make might shape more than your fate alone.
Expect: slow-burn romance, myth-heavy worldbuilding, emotional choices that echo.
🧭 What Echoes offers:
Choose one of 10 gods and embody that divine aspect
7 romance options (5 gender-variable, 1 male-only, 1 female-only)
Deep customization (and — if I do it right — high replay value)
Rebellion, intimacy, sacrifice, and myth
A ChoiceScript experience with stats, emotional branching, and atmospheric worldbuilding
🌿 Demo
Chapters 1–3 are currently available
(100k+ words — free to play)

🌿 Theron / Thera
A silent hunter who sees more than they say.
Copper-red hair, soft and tangled. Green eyes that hold too many visions. Leathery armor shaped by forest paths and colder nights.

→ Read more (⚠️ minor spoilers ahead)
🌘 Dorian / Dione
The outcast wrapped in shadows, charm, and too many names.
Ink-dark hair. Violet eyes that shift with the truth. Smooth hands that never quite stay still. Smiles like a threat you might enjoy.
If you fall for them, they may let you. Just don’t expect to land gently.
→ Read more (⚠️ minor spoilers ahead)
⚖️ Rhaelos / Rhaela
The blade that judges. And rarely forgives.

❄️ Zephiron / Zephyra
The kind of rebel who follows no one – so they always end up ahead.
Silver-white hair. Ice-blue eyes. Blazing tattoos flickering like breath under their skin.
Might walk away mid-conversation. Might kiss you mid-sentence.
→ Read more (⚠️ minor spoilers ahead)
🐺 Drakon (male only)
A presence that doesn’t quite belong — to the rebellion, or to Olympus.
Wild dark hair. Eyes like scorched bronze. Old scars and a stillness that feels too focused – like it’s waiting for something to move.
Don’t ask what he used to be. He hasn’t stopped being it yet.
→ Read more (⚠️ minor spoilers ahead)
🌈 ??? (female only)
No description available.
Some things aren’t meant to be seen until the right moment has come.

What does this have to do with you?
Found as a new-born, abandoned by those that brought you into this world, you never knew your birth parents. Only those who took you in. The problems of the Gods had never involved you until now. Divine blood flows in your veins. An encounter with your Godly parent brings death to your village. Those who hunt the Gods have come for you too.
Now, who are you?

Features:
Play as male, female, non-binary or trans, straight, gay, bisexual or asexual
Customise your character's appearance and personality
Learn who your Godly parent is from one of five options
Gather allies, both divine and mortal to travel with you
Forge relationships with your companions, friendships, rivalries and more
Choose from five romance options to pursue, creating a deep romantic or platonic bond
Improve your skills including your control over your demigod powers
Discover who is hunting you and decide the fate of the Gods

Theresa Colt - She/Her - 25 - The Childhood Friend Only child to the village's herbalist, Theresa grew up alongside MC. When not working with her mother, Theresa was most likely to be found by MCs side getting up to all sorts of adventures. Some might mistake her softness of weakness but it takes a certain kind of courage to be kind in the face of hardship. Appearance: Theresa is a young woman fairly short in height, 5'3, with curly brown hair typically tied up in brightly coloured scarfs. Honey eyes framed with thick lashes on a round face with olive skin. Delicate hands that are surprisingly rough from years of work.
Maddox Rowe - He/Him - 27 - The Demigod Maddox Rowe has always been angry. From a young age he’s been told it’s in his blood, in his nature. He may be a bit of a hothead but anger isn’t all that’s left in him, but when you aren’t given the chance to be anything else you fall back on what you know. Appearance: Golden skin and angry red eyes, Maddow Rowe stands tall at 6'3 casting an intimidating figure to most. Broad shoulders and a powerful form gained from a life of combat only add to it. Dark shaggy hair and a strong jaw complete his look.
Cormac Winters - He/Him - 28 - The Charming Rogue Talking himself in and out of trouble, Cormac flits about from city to city never setting roots. If you set roots you get attached. To some, honeyed words fall from his lips. To others, he’s selling nothing but snake oil. And when trouble finally does catch up to him, like many before he’ll slip away in the night. Appearance: Long wild, wavy red hair is the first thing people notice when they see Cormac. The second is the sly grin that seems to have found a permanent place on his face. Lean in build, 6'0, and forest green eyes, some think him cocky but who can resist a pretty face?
Lucien Corvus - They/Them - 23 - The Hunter Alone from a young age, with no one to protect or care form them, Lucien learned that the only person you can rely on is yourself. Strangers will use and hurt you. Keeping this mantra close to their heart helped them survive. Besides, if you begged to the gods for aid none would answer. Appearance: Piercing ice blue eyes on a cool white angular face that rarely shows anything different to cold indifference. Short blonde hair that rests against their forehead. They stand with shoulders back to a height of 5'10. Is that a dimple when they smile?
Sabine - She/Her - ??? - The ??? Wise beyond her years in the matters of the divine and history of the world. There’s an energy about her the exudes a sense of calm. If you look closer, behind the golden eyes you may catch a glimpse of the power that runs beneath them. Appearance: Eyes of liquid gold, skin a rich deep black, and ebony coils styled into long twists. Holding herself with a sense of regal poise, Sabine stands to a height of 5'9. She keeps a calm countenance even in unfavorable situations.

The Aching Hunger
Demo [9.4k Words | Last Updated 5/7/25]
You are a good, upstanding citizen. You’re a devoted best friend, get good grades in college, and life is looking up. You would go as far as to call yourself a good person. That is, until you aren’t anymore.
When your best friend gets cheated on by her asshole boyfriend, you’re furious on her behalf. And when you see him at a party, something in you… snaps. In a fit of fury, you murder him.
And this unleashes a bloodlust in you that no one would have ever expected, least of all yourself. Soon, a terrible, aching hunger forms in the pit of your stomach and travels up to gnaw at your heart. You want to kill – need to kill. The question is: can you get away with it, or are you destined to fall?
The game has four romance options who go as follows:
Delilah (F) Delilah is the kindest, sweetest person you know. She would never even hurt a fly. But despite that, she helps you cover up the murder of her (ex) boyfriend with little more than a scolding look. There’s a burning in her eyes when you reveal your bloodlust before her. Could it be possible that she’s drawn to it?
Delilah is of average height with a lean, slender build. She has black skin, coiled black hair she keeps in locks, and dark brown eyes. She has a round, heart-shaped face and deep dimples.
Sebastian (M) Sebastian has always been a bright, easy-going guy. He’s always been a pleasant person to hang out with, despite his poor choice of best friend. But ever since his best friend’s death – well, ever since you happened to murder him – his joy has been muted. If he ever found out that you murdered his best friend, he would never forgive you.
(WARNING: Sebastian's route is unique in that it is meant to be dark, purposely deceptive, and potentially even downright abusive on behalf of the MC. )
Sebastian is tall with broad shoulders and a muscular build. He has sun-kissed skin and curly brown hair that reaches his shoulders. His eyes are a light shade of brown. He has a scar on his calf that winds all the way up his thigh.
Alexander/Alexandra (M/F)
A is the detective who’s been put on your case. They’re charming, with a silver tongue and a mind as sharp as a finely-honed blade. They’ll stop at nothing to discover who the serial killer haunting the streets of their city is. Too bad that that person happens to be you.
A is tall with a wiry frame. They have pale skin and light blue eyes. Their hair is a pale, platinum blond. Their features are angular and sharp, making them look almost shrewish. A scar slashes across their left cheek.
Hugo/Helga (M/F) H is your classmate who you’ve been assigned on a group project with. They’re a twitchy, nervous thing, often acting as if they’re afraid of the entire world at large. As your killing spree commences, however, they develop a fascination with your serial killing persona. Maybe they’re not as much of a delicate little lamb as you thought they were.
H has a short, wiry frame. They have pale skin and light blue eyes, along with fiery red hair. Their features are angular and sharp, making them look almost shrewish. They have a smattering of freckles across their body.
Choose your MC's gender
Customize your MC's appearance and personality
Choose between four different romance options
Get away with murder or don't
Feed that hunger inside of you, or try to reject it
All updates will be posted on this blog. I'm totally cool with asks about the MC, ROs, and so on. I’m a-okay with nsfw asks too. Thank you for checking out the blog!
