what if i brought my magen david rainbow flag into work but also buy a desk-sized palestinian flag to put next to it so that people know to stop wishing me merry christmas but also don’t make any other assumptions
i’m almost definitely not going to because it’ll be striking a hornet’s nest but getting so fucking tired of how much my team is openly assuming everyone is christian (complete with multiple explicit mentions of the church and jesus himself in our last meeting of things/people that coworkers were grateful for)
like yeah it would be inappropriate for me to bring politics to work and will probably make people uncomfortable but THEY STARTED IT

▣ Did you know that the scene in Lady and the Tramp when Lady pops out of the hatbox on Christmas is inspired by a true story?
While Walt and Lilly Disney celebrated Christmas Eve with family at their home, Walt snuck the puppy into a hatbox, topped it with a large bow, and slipped it under the tree. Lilly was given the box and was, at first, rather disappointed: she loved to buy her own hats. Suddenly, the box moved, and Lilly screamed as a little puppy poked its head out! From that moment on, Lilly was smitten with the dog they named Sunnee, never letting him leave her sight.

Across SiIvaGunner's various projects include ones with voice acting, giving life to the channel's many characters. The channel's unofficial mascot, Wood Man, has appeared in most of these, and has over the years changed voices a handful of times. Which voice is your favorite?

Crazy Frog Trivia #13
A reoccuring Character Tic for Crazy Frog is for him to scratch the side of his bottom or leg.
This was likely based off of the original The Annoying Thing animation, where he scratched his bottom before jumping into his motorbike riding pose.

Finally read Mystic Christmas and.... wow, that sure is a lot of narrative foils going on... Tomte for MC, Ded for Mononobe, the unfair naughty/nice dichotomy for the Game/loops, the imposition of Eden's belief system for the superimpositions of the Exiles......
Heck, you can even make the argument that Tomte's struggle to repress his naughty side parallels the fact that MC is never given the opportunity to actually voice their grievances. They always have to be nice and forgiving, and if not entirely understanding, then at least sympathetic, and definitely compassionate. They always have to rush to help, because if they're not good, if they're not needed, then why would anyone want them around? What meaning would there be to their existence(s)?
(And the whole, "I hate the symbol, but I want the man behind it back. My life went to hell because of what he represents, but I want him back. He gave me an impossible choice, then made the choice for me, without saying anything, before I could even make it, because he knew that either choice would hurt me, but the choosing most of all. Still, I want him back.")

i've never understood the coraline fan theory that the shot of the garden at the end of the movie shows that it was built to resemble the other mother's true face instead of coraline's face as it was in the other world, and that this somehow indicates that the other mother was once the human owner of the pink palace or is still out there somewhere or something
because like, the garden shown at the end of the movie is still very clearly the same as it was in the other world?? its still very clearly coraline's face
it has the greenhouse in the corner that makes up her dragonfly hairclip, it's got the side-part in her hair whereas the other mother's true form had center-parted hair, the cheekbones and chin aren't as sharp as they should be if they were supposed to resemble the other mother, and it even has tree planters on either side of the face that in the other world held the glowing red trees that made up the blush marks on the cheeks
also, here's a photo of other world garden set from the laika exhibit at the portland art museum that shows it from a similar angle as the real world garden at the end of the movie, which really highlights how its the exact same set
there's also a bunch of concept art (click to enlarge, sources in image descriptions) of the other world garden that support this, and a blog post from one of the concept artists that flat out confirms it
anyway i blame this popular but incorrect fan theory on that one youtube channel that first made this claim ages ago, and it's super annoying that it keeps getting regurgitated as an official piece of trivia despite being very obviously not true
