lol im finally making this post😭😭I’ll add and update things as i think of them.

ok Naruto first

- has definitely gotten sick from only eating instant ramen for a while.

- used to steal A LOT, he got pretty good at it and stopped caring abt it.

- has a lot more foxlike features than what is shown. his nails are probably sharper/stringer than most peoples, has a considerable amount of body hair, a high pitched laugh (like a fox’s call) and a high jump.

- i feel like hes very ADHD coded.

- one of those people that thinks everyone is bi, or at least a little gay. “wdym you dont wanna kiss your male friends??”

- would be one of those guys that argues about which rapper is the best..idk he just seems like the type.

Sasuke!!

- tbh i feel like he has a lot more mental effects from the uchiha massacre than is shown in the story. I can see him being thinner than naruto and sakura, just bc he’s always anxious.

- or having traps set up at his house, things like that.

- he probably sees things out of the corners of his eyes and jump a lot. (most of these im getting from when i had ptsd💀)

- he cuts his hair short to avoid looking any more like itachi than he already does.

- he’s probably one of those people who cant STAND processed food. he gets on naruto all the time about only eating junk food.

Sakura

- she was definitely really friendly as a kid. totally the type to invite quieter kids to play and stuff like that. she never wanted anyone else to be excluded.

- she was hinata’s first friend, since shes so quiet.

- she’s the type to buy everything in pink too.

- definitely owns rabbits, maybe hamsters too. she would be such a good pet mom😭😭, esp because rodents are so finnicky and need quiet environments.

Vast Error and Splatoon fans, how do we feel about these? (custom kits and some explanations under cut!)

Sova (Defensive Utility) - Reef-lux, Splash Wall, Baller I don't really know her that well so this one is probably the most shaky out of all of them. I was hoping to give her a more defensive play style here (Splash Wall and Baller)

Dismas (Evade Skirmisher) - .52 gal, Toxic Mist, Triple Splashdown The .52 is here since it takes 2 shots to hit (in reference to 2xbladekind). Toxic Mist and Triple Splashdown don't have too much reason to be on here except that this all together makes a nasty .52 gal kit.

Arcjec (Tank Skirmisher) - Tentabrella, Autobomb, Taticooler Arcjec would tend to use Autobombs the most while hiding behind the huge shield the Tentabrella provides. Taticooler is in reference to not only his obsession with Code Red, but also how he recovers quickly when pushed down (respawn buff from Taticooler). He's also meant to be paired with Ellsee in a way, since her Squid Beacon's can support this specific play style greatly.

Jentha (Special Utility) - Bloblobber, Angle Shooter, Wave Breaker She just feels like it. Like she just feels like a Bloblobber and I can't really explain it too much. Source: just trust me bro. Angle Shooter would be something she'd use in a panic to try and find someone, just a quick 'throw it out' thing while revealing her location at the same time. Wave Breaker suits the non-aggressive play style that I'm trying to go with her.

Ellsee (Evade Skirmisher) - Inkbrush, Squid Beacon, Ink Storm The Inkbrush is meant to be similar to her staff in a way! Also the movement made with a brush flick reminiscent of dancing, nothing too deep with this choice just that it fits the best out of all the weapons. Squid Beacon is in reference to her portals and goes along with Arcjec (see the desc. of his kit for details). Ink Storm is probably the weakest here since I added it only because her last name is Raines (like raining.... storms.....).

Albion (Crossfire Utility) - Heavy Splatling, Ink Mine, Booyah Bomb The Heavy was picked out mostly because its Deco version is very sparkly and shiny, like her quirk! Ink Mine is mostly to tie the kit together and Booyah Bomb is her sort of 'calling upon her friends'. I think this kit fits her a lot more towards the start of the comic but could still be applied later on.

Serpaz (Special Utility) - Big Swig Roller, Sprinkler, Ultra Stamp I tried to sort of play into the idea that she uses toolboxkind so that's why she has a paint roller and a hammer! The sprinkler is to help her build her special.

Laivan (Trick Skirmisher) - Squiffer, Splat Bomb, Triple Inkstrike A Charger for Laivan felt like the obvious choice since he's known to wield a gun (not sure exactly what kind since he doesn't have a confirmed strifespecibus from what i can tell) but I wanted him to contrast Occeus with quirk charges and shorter shots which is why I ended up giving him the Squiffer. Splat Bombs and Triple Inkstrike don't really have a big reason but I think they overall fit as a simple but effective kit.

Occeus (Anchor) - E-Liter Scope, Toxic Mist, Stingray All of these have reasons, mostly relating to the fact his strifespecibus is lazerkind. E-liter is slow charging but has a very high range, with the scope providing greater accuracy. I considered giving him the Tri-Stringer in reference to his three eyes but I feel like the E-Liter Scope feels more true to the way lazerkind works. Toxic Mist is a bit silly as it's entirely there to reference the fact he's a scientist that works with a lot of weird vials and bottles with potentially dangerous substances inside. Stingray basically works the same as lazerkind, cutting through everything around it to hit its targets.

Taz (Slayer) - Luna Blaster, Burst Bomb, Ink Armor The Luna Blaster is fast, powerful and if the direct hit doesn't get you the splash damage will! Powerful, destructive and makes sure to not leave anyone behind, that's how Taz fights. Burst Bomb isn't a reference to anything, just an effective combo with any shots with a main weapon and helpful when you need to ink something quick. Ink Armor is meant to reference how her chucklevoodoo is always active with the 'glint' in her eye, as well as how she's someone who supports others at heart.

Murrit (Slayer) - Tetra Dualies, Point Sensor, Triple Splashdown (plays Bloblobber sometimes just to piss Jentha off) This was the guy who started this whole thing so lets get into it. I chose the Tetra Dualies to allude to the fact that he uses 2xknucklekind. I was thinking to myself "what feels like getting punched in the face when playing a splatoon match?" and it 100% the Tetra Dualies. Point sensor is meant to not only portray how she keeps tabs on everyone but also how she seems like the type to hunt down her targets. Triple Splashdown is mostly because that also feels like a punch in the face (and also how the animation is literally a punch). Overall, I wanted her play style to come across as high risk, high reward.

Calder (Anchor) - Ballpoint Splatling, Curling Bomb, Kraken Royale I tried to find the best way to portray his fighting style (with three different strife specubus's) but the common theme seems to be that they're very long weapons that directly confront the target and have quick 'jabs' at the target. I think the Ballpoint with its ability to have short range bursts accompanied with long range hits, as well as the fact that the fire can be interrupted for continuous fire, portrays that. Curling Bombs feel the closest to golf balls, bouncing around the stage and being able to control how far you put it out (similar to how hard your swing is). Kraken Royale is mostly to allude to the fact that Calder is royalty. He also tends to seem commanding and in control, which is suitable for an anchor.

Obviously, there's plenty of other kits and roles that they can fit into but this is more a kit that reflects bits of themselves rather than the one they would realistically play or would be the best at. I would love to hear some of y'all's opinions on this and your own kit ideas! Here's my attempt at making Murrit in Splatoon.

Guys, new idea dropped! What if Rain Code characters played Splatoon? Not gonna do everyone this time, only a few (the MDA + most Peacekeepers and Makoto)

So, what weapon I think they would use :

Yakou : Ah shooter, because it's a classic, and I think Yakou would be into classics. Now, especially the Splattershot, because it's pretty balanced, the sticky bomb is nice, and I can see him being happy and shooting something like "Hell yeah!" everytime his trizooka is ready and he uses it

Halara : A charger because of the way they aim pretty damn well with their coin. And especially the Bamboozler 14 Mk I, because it's fucking overpowered?? The charge speed is fire, the range is great and mobility is great too! Given how fast Halara is in Rain Code, I don't think they'd like to have slow chargers with bad mobility. Now, you'll tell me "Oh but what about the Bamboozler Mk II?" well... I honestly the autobomb and killer wail of Mk1 would please Halara more because the autobomb is kinda sneaky, and the killer wail is almost unescapable, just like Halara themselves. Although I think Halara's favourite special would be the tenta missiles. Buuut, can't have everything, you know? Ok, worse case scenario, Halara would take the Goo Tuber instead of Bamboozler 14 Mk1

Yuma : A Brush because of the solution blade (why not a splatana? You'll see). At first I was hesitating between the Painbrush and Octobrush Nouveau... But I think the Painbrush's handling is too crap. As for why an Octobrush... I just think they are better than the Inkbrushes. Because they have slightly better range for only slightly worse handling and ink speed. Soo... As for why the Octobrush Nouveau precisely... I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like the special and the sub are better for Yuma? Like, I think it would suit his playstyle better? Idk how to explain it

Desuhiko : A Roller... I don't know. It screams Desuhiko to me. But not a Dynamo Roller, because they have the worse Ink Speed and handling, and I feel like Desuhiko playstyle is just random. The man just wants to have fun. But it's not fun if your weapon is slow as duck. I think he'd have a Carbon Roller Deco, because I feel that's the one which would offer the must fun thanks to the sub and special

Vivia : I have no real idea... Maybe a Slosher or a Brella? More likely a Brella? I don't know

Fubuki : A Blaster. Because she's an adventurer and all, but everyone would think she'd take something cuter or something, but turns out she likes big weapons which goes BOOM. (Maybe dualies or stringers as a second choice though). Now... Which one? I have no idea. So I'll just say which one I think she could like, and why : S-BLAST '91, it's pretty, the burst bombs are fun and it's great to have all the team cheering with you for the Booyah Bomb. Luna Blaster, it's cute and the Zipcaster makes her feel like a super-hero and she likes that. Same idea for the Luna Blaster Neo, the Ultra Stamp is very fun. And maybe the S-BLAST '92 because I feel like she would be amazed by the sprinkler and the reefslider?

Seth : I have no explanation. When I think about Seth, I think about a Slosher. Especially a Blobber. And I think like he would love the Blobber Deco over the regular Blobber, because KRAKEN ROYALE!! I think Seth would love the Kraken Royale. And, somehow, the Angle Shooter makes sense for him I think? Like, knowing where his opponents are would be in character for him I think?

Martina : The Brella, of c- WRONG! Give my lady a fucking charger! I think she would like a Snipewriter, because it has a great range and a very decent Mobility. However, I can't chose between the Snipewriter 5H, or the Snipewriter 5B... Or wait... Maybe a Stringer? But I see her with a charger more than a stringer... Hmm

Yomi : Was hesitating between a Blaster or a Splatling... But since I already gave Fubuki a Blaster, let's say I give the Splatling to Yomi. SO, I was hesitating between... Well, most of them actually, but I think I'll go with the Mini Splatling, because it has an Ultra Stamp, and I'm sure Yomi would love to literally crush his enemies to death. So yeah.

Guillaume : Dark Tetra Dualies (because those are literally the best weapons, I don't want to hear anything else)... No but really, the range is pretty neat, the mobility is awesome, and the damage... You can compensate if you manage to corner/surprise the enemy. + I think she'd like to have the autobombs because they are kinda sneaky, and of course she would like the reefslide! I mean, just look at her!

Aide : I don't know why, but a Shooter. And I feel like the .52 Gal would be best for him. I wanted one with great damage and good fire rate... None was good enough. It was either great damage but shit fire rate, or balanced range-damage-fire rate. And I didn't want that. I hesitated with the .96 Gals, but the fire rate was a bit lower than the .52. So 52 it is! As for which one... The regular .52 Gal. Because it has the killer wail and once again, the killer wail is hard to escape, so...

Makoto : Splatana... Because Makoto had to have a similar yet different weapon from Yuma + I feel like it suits him better than a brush. Now, I think he would have a Wiper because it has a better handling than the other splatanas, and I think Makoto woul prefer a good handling over the other stats. And I feel like the regular Splatana Wiper would suit him better than the Wiper Deco, because... Look at me and dare say to me that the Ultra Stamp isn't the most Makoto thing? Plus I feel like he would find the Torpedo more useful than the Squid Beakon (although squid beakon could symbolise him only counting on himself etc etc)... Either way, a splatana wiper (regular one first I think)

Ace Info Compilation part 8: Basketball and Mimicry

In an early vignette we see Ace having trouble with deciding which club he wants to join, telling Deuce that “…unlike SOME people who are only good at physical stuff, I’ve got my eye on clubs of a more sophisticated nature, so I need to take my time.”

He ends up joining the basketball club, and we get a brief look at Floyd hurling basketballs at him “like a freight train” during his first week.

Riddle reacts with surprise that Ace joined a team activity, saying that his behavior in the dorm gives the impression he would be more interested in individual sports.

We see Ace being diligent during a basketball club practice where he is looking to “land a spot as a first-stringer” despite being a first-year student, and Jamil says he is “a deft hand at basketball.”

Ace struggles to keep Floyd focused during practices, with Jamil attempting to abandon them both. When Floyd starts trying to teach himself to breakdance Jamil takes over, at which point Ace gives up on getting them to play at all.

This exchange is referenced in Book 5 when Ace asks Jamil about teaching himself, Grim, Deuce and the prefect to dance for the VDC.

Ace says that “overly enthusiastic sport stuff” is too much for him and “I know I play sports, but I just don’t ‘get’ the athletic mindset…”

In his dorm vignette we see that Ace has an impressive short-term memory, is adept at mimicking those around him, or both: he learns multiple lines in mole language from Rook in order to coax missing hedgehogs into returning to Heartslabyul.

During Fairy Gala IF Ace heckles Jack so badly that Jack is not able to focus on his performance, leading him to insist that Ace demonstrate a runway walk so that he can mock him right back, in revenge.

Ace surprises and impresses Vil, Jack, Silver and Lila with his runway walk despite having never attempted it before.

When asked how he managed it Ace explains, “I just did what Vil’s been telling you to do,” with Vil observing, “You picked all that up just from listening? What skill.”

Ace says, “Please, it’s not hard. In fact, it boggles my mind that you guys are still having trouble after Vil’s laid things out multiple times.”

(This scene combined with Ace’s interactions with Deuce seem to insinuate that he has very little patience for people who are not able to pick up skills as smoothly and naturally as he himself can.)

Ace explains that he learned slight-of-hand by memorizing his brother’s motions since his brother refused to teach him directly, and Cater compliments him on being able to pick things up on his own and think so quickly on his feet.

Ace explains, “Most things, you can imitate if you see ‘em enough and pay enough attention.”

Riddle takes the opportunity to point out that Ace ought to apply his impressive powers of memorization to memorizing the Queen of Hearts’ Code and the chronologies of magic history and Ace explains, “That’s totally different! I’m not good at rote memorization!”

Can you draw Farren's childhood growing up among the Salmonid?

these are a lil lazy (more the second pic) but they were more to get some ideas out as before this ask I haven't really built onto this yet.

Heres kind of a bit of story behind all this:

Luce while out on the hunt, found Farren abandoned within a forest near their bases. Luce first thought about eating Farren. Inkling and Octarian were hard to come by, and most would find it a delicacy. But a part of him felt empathy towards the creature. He was thrown out by his former clan (for reasons I haven't yet thought of yet), so seeing an inkling out on salmonid grounds completely abandoned made him feel something. So instead, he decided to take it back to his and Valo's cabin.

Valo was completely hesitant about Luce bringing back an Inkling looking to actually... take care of it. Raise it. She felt like it was breaking some sort of unwritten code, it just felt weird to him. But after quite a bit of explaining, convincing, etc etc the two decided to raise Farren as their own

Surprisingly, the other salmonids were pretty accepting of Farren. Maybe it was because of Luce's status, but no one tried anything with Farren. The younger salmonid didn't complain about having a new playmate.

Farren learned how to hunt (on ground; Luce was too worried about water hunting), learned how to protect herself, learned how to cook, all the necessities.

Valo, after a salmon run, noticed one of the workers left a Tri-Stringer. Valo, knowing Farren's interest in more ranged combat, decided what would be the complete harm in teaching her how to use such a weapon. Plus, bonding.

Idk exactly what happened that separated them and Farren. I'm thinking perhaps a big run got way out of hand and their clan got surrounded and in an attempt to keep Farren safe, sent her out with a boat. Idk how much I like that though...

what Splatoon species i think the hlvrv cast would be

Loverboy / Gordon B

Inkling

Gordon B is seen as one of the physically stronger ones. He is smart but i feel like his strength kinda out shines his knowledge. (Also due to the fact that the little heart ahoge could be possible on Inklings)

Weapons

He would most likely play heavy weapons and i can see him playing both Dynamo and Hydra.

Swap

Inkling / Inktoling

Swap would probably be a Inkling, but he’s from the swap universe so that would mean the way Inkling and Octolings act would also be swapped. So he would most likely appear as a Inkling, as that would be the most common species found at Black Mesa (due to the scientists most likely being Inklings)

There is also a reason for Swap to be a Inktoling, as he’s an alien and therefore wouldn’t really know the difference between Inkling and Octolings. It would also make sense as they technically can’t exist (due to it being mostly genetically impossible) and it could show that he doesn’t have the best knowledge on Inkling and Octoling (it’s shown that he didn’t have the best knowledge on humans)

Weapons

Undercover Brella for the sole reason that Neo made a joke about it, and Swap just went with it.

Kittle / Malcom

Octoling

Malcom would be an Octoling due to the fact of the knowledge he has on coding and his general knowledge on things. But also shown that he’s kinda a recluse and Octoling were separated from almost all other species and became recluses.

Weapons

I can see him playing Chargers and Stringers. He would most likely play Splatterscope and Inkline Tri-Stringer

Player

Stantized Octoling

Player has issues figuring out who he is, and Sanitized Octolings technically all following the same orders and acting the same. It would help show Player’s issues knowing who he is, especially with Malcom being an Octoling it would help Player struggle a bit with who he is.

Weapons

I can see him playing a weapon from every class really, but I feel like he would play Sloshers and Dualies the most. Playing Tri-Slosher Nouveau and Light Tetra Dualies.

Doc

Fuzzy Octoling

Come on he fell into a thing of goo (even tho it was green and would prob be whatever is used to make Sanitized Octolings) and gained powers of sorts. And i think it would be funny if he was just a Fuzzy Octoling instead of a Sanitized Octoling.

Weapons

I see him as a Splatling player that plays a bit of every Splatling, but he would play Heavy Splatling Deco and Heavy Edit Splatling the most

Freeman

Octoling / Sanitized Octoling

Hear me out, Freeman was originally a normal Octoling, but when his G-man ‘gave’ him his job he became a Sanitized Octoling. It would make sense as he has to follow set rules and Sanitized Octoling follow every order and rule given to them. And after Freeman gets his memories back and G-man is gone he (possibly) gets turned back into a normal Octoling as an apology from the employers.

Weapons

I feel like he would only play Shooters, but plays the same weapons. He would most likely play .96 Gal, Jet Squelcher, and Squeezer.

I rediscovered this article I wrote about twelve years ago about a cool music project utilizing a map of NY subways, and surprisingly, the website itself is still up!

SUBWAY MUSIC

Created by  Alexander Chen, musician and programmer at Google Creative Labs, the Conductor/ MTA.me project turns a digital map of the New York subway system into a musical instrument. 

The “strings” of this instrument are formed by the paths of trains as they travel across the screen.  When a train crosses over the path of another, it plucks the string, creating a cello pizzicato note (borrowed from the website freesound.org, a  database of Creative Commons Licensed sounds).  A viewer can also use their mouse to pluck the strings, which will change in pitch as they get longer.  The trains’ paths spawn in real time beginning from the time at which the viewer first enters the site, then running through a rapidly accelerating 24-hour cycle.  Train departure times are drawn from the Metro Transit Authority’s own current schedule of departures and arrivals.

The appearance of Conductor/MTA.me is based off of the 1972 map of the New York subway system created by eclectic design artist Massimo Vignelli.  Although the map was rather controversial in its time-- largely because it was not to exact scale and deliberately ignored much of the above-ground geography— its clean, color-delineated lines made an ideal template for Chen’s creation.

Chen first created his line-plucking code for Crayong, a project that allows a user to draw a series of lines which transform into functional instrument.  The genesis of Crayong, and ultimately Conductor/MTA.me came during a lunchtime visit with Chen’s friend David Lu.  The two of them sketched out an idea Lu had for an instrument made from drawn lines that turned into pluckable strings.  Chen later created a mock-up of the design in Adobe Flash.  To impart a sense of realism to the strings’ physics, he used trigonometry to limit the distance a string could be drawn and decreased the flexibility as a player moved towards either end of the string. 

Conductor/MTA.me is not Chen’s only experiment with pluckable drawings.  He was also the mind behind the Les Paul Google Doodle, launched on June 9th 2011 as a tribute to the inventor of the solid-body electric guitar.  This Doodle is an interactive digital instrument that plays sample notes taken from Chen’s own electric guitar. 

Additionally Chen, along with musical engineer Tyler Williams and web developer/dancer Aidan Feldman, created Stringer, a program that uses the Kinect 3D camera.  Much like Crayong, Stringer allows a participant to draw a line and pluck it to produce a note.  In this case, however, the line is drawn in the air from gestures made in front of the Kinect’s camera, creating, in effect, a real-life “air guitar” (or “air cello” in this case since Stringer appears to use the same sound samples featured in MTA.me).    Unlike Crayong and MTA.me, which were created with HTML5, Stringer was built using C++ and an open source programming language called Processing.

A note for that mention, you mean the mechon from XC1, I wouldn’t be surprised they’d like them (especially Metal Face). Xenoblade 2 also has enemy Artificial Blades (not Poppi, though. Poppi is too sweet/kind hearted and powerful for them to corrupt), and XC3 has the Ferronises and Levnises, so plenty for the Syndicate of Steel to utilize. Plus, plenty of autonomous machines alongside the mechs would be included, so it’s even better! He’d find no use in the Flame Clocks of the XC3 things, though, so he probably swaps them out for Railguns (either Uzi’s laser ones or ordinary but still cool railguns (the ones that magnetically shoot projectiles at Mach speeds)

They will all do in Code Stringer's eyes and he'd definitely do both Railgun concepts just to throw off his opponents on what weapons they'll have.
