Ok but Bruce’s “batglare” except it has specific stages that mean you’re in varying degrees of trouble. Allow me to elaborate:

Level 1: isn’t even really considered a glare in Bruce-speak, more of a suspicious squinting

Level 2: standard Disappointed Dad look, the most you’re gonna get is a reprimand

Level 3: resting Bitch face. Less of a glare and more of a sharp look that WILL follow you around and creep you out

Level 4: worried batglare, features aren’t as sharp as with the standard batglare. Usually smooths out when his kids/teammates stop being idiots and putting themselves in danger

Level 5: standard batglare, regular criminals are usually at the end of it, most of the kids have gotten pretty used to it

Level 6: You’ve Fucked Up. Expect a screaming match or a lecture of at least 30 minutes. Also you’re grounded

Level 7: full batglare on steroids, makes grown men piss their pants, usually reserved for the joker. Most of the kids have received it only once and that was MORE than enough for them to never want to receive it again

Level 8: Alfred.

Anyway my actual justification for the way I act and am is more like... "Empathy is a skill. It's something that you have to practice, that you have to cultivate. When you look around at the people around you, the world around you, so many people are comfortable turning their empathy off. Doesn't that disgust you? Isn't it awful to see the casual cruelty that people employ constantly? The way they lash out at people, the way they throw little barbs, blame other people for their own problems... I can't stop them. I can't control them, or make the world better, or fix how easy it is to be cruel. What I can do is work constantly to make sure that I am not that person. That I never make anyone feel the way I have felt. That I don't indulge the base desire to hurt others for my own satisfaction. But that's not a choice you make once and leave it at that. It's something you have to try, actively, at every chance you get. And yeah, I'm not perfect. I fail to be kind more than I'd like, but I can always keep trying at the next opportunity."

Sometimes I think "Should I follow other people's standards?" but if I went on like that, I'd be missing my own standards. For a long time I stayed busy and felt accomplished about the records we set, but when I looked back... Everyone has their own joys in life, but I had come so far from my own joys.

as for the update schedule, it's technically not set but i do upload every like. 9 to 12 days. i'm pretty consistent w it too so i guess that's the schedule hahah

thinking about labru taking the metro. kabru likes it (and is a huge public transit advocate) while laios tolerates it, but gets easily overwhelmed with how hot and cramped and smelly it can get. kabru scopes out a seat for him and is happy to apply elbows in order to get them there. kabru forgoes a seat and stands with his front to laios both to serve as a physical buffer and help take laios' mind off of things

i highly doubt he personally plucked the cogs out of every protoform forged from the Well, but i imagine he had some kind of cog-removal crew stationed by the Well to inspect the new protoforms

and if in their cog-removal manual (pretend that's a thing) i can see him decreeing that any protoforms with defects (e.g. fritzed vocaliser, misshapen servos, weak plating) should just... be discarded.

Ulysses obsession with the Courier is a special type of sad to me cause the Courier’s part was so important but so unwitting. They had no idea what was in the package they delivered and neither did he. Neither had an idea of what it could’ve done and the Courier was only caring out their job (mind you the Courier could be killed via notes in the express contract if they don’t). To them it was just another regular delivery to the divide and one that they likely thought would help, just like all the ones before.

It’s so tragic for Ulysses to hold so much ire to the Courier when it really was the case of it could’ve been anyone. Anyone could have delivered that package but they did and so he focused the blame on them and it destroys what he is trying to instill in the courier on a fundamental level.
