You chuckled and processed her request in light shock.

“I… Ok…!” You laughed, “But only if you wear yours too…”

Maria laughed over the phone in response.

“Deal.” She declared, “See you at home.”

“Bye, See you!” You hummed, before the call ended.

You put your phone away and continued filling out your paperwork for the arrest you had made this morning. You were a cop at the MPDC, the DC police department, and your girlfriend worked for the intelligence agency, SHIELD.

The brunette had called you with a new idea for the bedroom that you had to admit, you found quite intriguing… Maria had suggested you wear your uniform.

After that call, you couldn’t wait to get home. As soon as the clock struck 5pm, you were out the door. You drove home in eager anticipation. You unlocked your door and dropped your keys at the side table on your way in.

You had beaten Maria home, so you put your things away, waiting in the kitchen for the brunette. You made sure to keep your entire uniform on, and you grabbed a bottle of red wine, pouring yourself a glass as you waited.

About thirty minutes later, the lock of the door finally jingled. You then heard the door open and shut, followed by your girlfriend walking into the kitchen. She dropped her things on the counter, and then shifted her gaze to you.

“Damn.” Maria sighed, not holding her gaze back from racking up and down your frame.

You chuckled lightly, grabbing and offering her a glass of the wine. The brunette thanked you with a kiss and accepted it whole heartedly. You both then migrated to the living room, sitting and lounging with your glasses of alcohol. Maria crossed her leg over the other, eyeing you in your uniform once more.

“You really are hot, you know that?” The woman husked, before taking a sip of her wine.

“Me or the uniform…?” You teased the brunette.

“Oi!” Maria scolded playfully,

“Both…” she suggestively cooed, wiggling her eyebrows.

“Fair.” You gave her a nod and chuckled, taking a sip of your own wine.

“You don’t look too bad yourself either, Baby…” you hummed, finishing the sip of your wine and taking the moment to admire Maria in her uniform.

It was all black and it hugged her perfectly. There was a zipper in the front center which if you pulled down just a bit, you would get the perfect vantage of her tits, you thought to yourself.

Like the woman could read your mind, her hand went for the zipper, pulling it down a teasing amount, where you could clearly see her tits. She raised her brow at you in anticipation of your reaction. You widened your eyes slightly and blushed lightly in response, hiding your stare behind another sip from your glass.

Maria laughed at the reaction that she had pulled from you.

“Don’t be a tease…” you grumbled, taking another sip of your alcohol.

“You first” the woman chuckled in amusement.

“What…?! I am not teasing.” You exclaimed in a huff defensively.

“Yea well your body says otherwise…” Maria teasingly cooed, shrugging and taking a sip of her wine.

“Well why don’t you do something about it…?” You challenged the woman.

She paused from sipping from her glass and set it down, to look at you. Maria then got up and sauntered over to you. She stood in front of you, placing her arms on either side of the couch, so that she effectively trapped you there between the couch and her own body.

“You are so sexy in that uniform” Maria breathed out, beginning with a sigh.

You set your wine aside and gulped. Her words made you go a shade darker in the face. The brunette obviously liked the reactions she was drawing from you.

“I want to sit back and watch you strip tease for me in that…” the woman huskily told you in a hushed tone, while meeting your gaze the entire time.

Your breath hitched and another rush of heat went to your face. You nodded slowly.

“Or… I want you to pretend like I’m in trouble with you in that uniform…” Maria continued huskily, “Or maybe I’ll punish you while in uniform…”

Your eyes widened and your face was now tomato red.

“I—Yes.” You choked out, “Yes to all of it”

Maria smiled and stood up, releasing you from her entrapment. She gave you hand to stand up.

“Good. Then you and me have a long night…” she hummed in delight.

•Sebastian would have a new karaoke buddy, it wouldn’t be every time in consideration of his confidence, but I’m sure you would help boost it.

•Evans would love a new car karaoke buddy, and you would definitely be it.

-He’d hype you up on high notes and try to mimic it once you leave the vehicle.

•Scarlett would love to have you join in on a live stream where she occasionally sings some of her old songs.

-She even sneaks a peek at you singing one of her newer ones when in the wardrobe trailer (who knows?)

•Ruffalo would be astounded, the kind and warm soul he is.

•Renner could never be jealous of your talents, but he understands his daughter’s appreciation for them and he wonders how you’d sing with his lyrics.

•The Benedicts love dancing to your voice, they enjoy using your hums to get into character when the wifi is iffy or their music just gets repetitive for them.

•Paul Rudd is probably your biggest fan of all the cast members, but who can blame him when you have a vocal range as vast as the streaming options for film requests in the screening room?

•Brie Larson is one h*ll of a singer herself, but she appreciates your join-in when you’re over at hers for a house day or getting ready in the makeup trailer.

•Colbie Smulders? She’s a lover when it comes to your music, I’ve never heard so many pop songs come from her car (even before you joined the cast).

•The Toms? Their music taste is one of the most intriguing parts about them, but Holland can’t help himself with your classics and Hiddleston squeals when he hears your voice-whether it’s from a recording or live.

•Lizzie Olsen is not one to back away from some things and your joyous vocals are one of them, she can’t help herself when the light and airy tone of yours wafts in her surroundings.

•The directors easily get irritated by the interruptions on set by you breaking into song when something goes wrong, but why not break out or character completely when something goes awry?

•The crew is grateful they can hear you sing w/o having to buy tickets though they wonder if Corden will ever be able to get you on Carpool Karaoke if he can.

•Daniel Brühl is one heck of an Ari fan if I’ve ever heard one, but he beams when he thinks if you’re about to sing.

•Florence Pugh is always ready to listen to your music, but her expectations are always lifted when your voice starts.

•Emily Vancamp has broken character too many times if she hears you from afar, but it just makes her smile and she can’t help it.

•Hayley Atwell is not one to sing often, but her light voice carries and for it to mix with yours just makes her beam and get into it farther.

•Chadwick was only in a movie or so with you, but he was no stranger to your vocals even before he met you.

-He and Letitia had their fair-share of lip-synch battles to your songs, but neither of them have ever been willing to admit it.

•Xochitl has filmed one too many videos of her dancing to your music, but her moves and your lyrics are a Marvel-made match that won’t be beat (even by Florence and Toby sometimes, sorry Florrie).

•Hailee Steinfeld is just waiting for the day she can meet you on set and ask for a collab because your voices together won’t be beat (I see you collab of Stitches from years ago).

Smallville 4x09

I need to talk about Smallville season 4 episode 9 "Bound".

There is... a lot happening here. Some of it is good! Some of it is yikes. Some of it is huh. It feels like a microcosm of what does and doesn't work about season 4.

My first thought about the episode is how impressive the budget is. I really wish they'd had that kind of money from seasons 8-10. Don't get me wrong the later seasons do a great job making what they have work, but you just don't get real locations like the opera house in this episode and that's a damn shame.

I like the tension between Lex and Clark. We're besties and I have your back but I honestly don't know if I can trust you feels like a very natural evolution and it's really interesting to watch.

HOWEVER, why are we slut shaming Lex? The show is committing the cardinal sin of a middle of the road choice. It wants to punish Lex for behaving like a misogynist, but doesn't have the guts to show him doing anything actually bad. Having casual sex with consenting adults is not in any way a bad thing.

The scene in the elevator should have been Lois and Clark rather than Clark and Chloe. It's a scene with manufactured sexual tension which works if you have two characters who are pretending not to be into each other like Clark and Lois are at this point in the series. It does not work if you have one character who is head over heels into the other person and one person who just isn't interested in the other character. As it is I just feel bad for Chloe. It doesn't work. It feels mean.

Shout out to the guest stars. I thought both Colbie Smulders and the woman who played the lawyer were fantastic. I also enjoyed the superman nod that Lex didn't recognize Cobie with glasses on, it's silly but I liked it. I did not care for the way the Cobie character was written though, she does not act like a person

I had other thoughts but this sat unfinished in my drafts for too long and now we're in season 5 of the rewatch so those thoughts are lost to time.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!! GOD DAMMIT!!! F**K YOU GRAVIK!!!🤬

Well, I guess Talos and G'iah ain't gonna reconcile after all cause TALOS IS DEAD!!! I thought the ending scene was gonna show him right about showing who the skrulls can be and it'll be returned. He helped get the President out, even though he was shot and getting weaker, and the British soldier would help him cause he help the humans. But, nooooooooooo. The soldier had to be freaking Gravik. And, of course he can't die cause of freaking Extremis. 😒

I don't think the show would do another death fakeout, so Talos has to be dead for real. Which freaking sucks, cause he was one of the few good skrulls left that had so much hope and faith that it never wavered and he never gave in, even when he went through so much crap.

Also, screw you end credits! Special Guest Star Colbie Smulders again?! She only appeared in the recap and video footage of her death!

God, I'm pissed off. See y'all next week for episode 5. And, show? You better not make me feel sorry for Gravik. I don't care what he went through or his reasons, dude is a terrorist trying to wipe out an entire race of beings and killed off two characters I liked. So, don't you dare try to garner any sympathy from me and have him actually face some major consequences for his actions!

(So I have seen this so much I figured I would jump on the beefy biker train. Beefy biker Bucky Barnes x OC I will be making this a series. I am still figuring out the master playlist so stay tuned. Introductions: Meet the Soul Riders and Heart Snatchers

The wind hit just right that day on the open road for the “Soul riders,”. The soul riders weren’t just your average ragtag biker crew. These men were respected by not only many biker crews but by many gangs in the area. They made it very clear to not get involved in many affairs only where they needed. But damn sure if you decided to challenge them, you would soon find out why they were called “Soul Riders,” They had heart, passion, but they were protective, determined, and at times dangerous to a point where your soul could feel like it was leaving your body. So watch how you flip the coin.

Let’s introduce them, shall we? First on the list, the top dog of the crew, the natural-born leader. Steve Rogers or as everyone knows him as ‘Nomad,’ Was it the hair, the beard that made most want to be fucked by him till daylight crept through, or the fear that he could snap your neck in half in a split second. He comes across as pure-hearted but it can be switched to cold in a heartbeat.

On his right, there was the dark brown long haired brooding man. Bucky Barnes or as many heard the name “The white wolf,” He was more of the quiet, reserved one. But they always say watch out for the quiet ones. Nothing more seducing yet deadly by his stare, it was like he could talk into bed with his eyes or make your breathing cut off just by his look. After a harsh motorcycle accident giving him his metal arm, you should always watch your back.

Now on the other side of Rogers, there was Sam Wilson. The military man, He became well respected in the army and most bikers who did come out of the military called him the “Falcon,” He was unstoppable in the air force and eventually he grew tired of being told what to do, so it was time to find somewhere else to let his wings spread and be free, joining the crew gave him that free will.

Now last but not least, Everyone knows his name, Clint Barton or otherwise known by pretty much everyone “Ronin,” Yeah he was a family man, he was also a rebel. He just goes where the wind takes him. He knows how to balance his priorities and was tired of people making him choose how to live. The gang definitely knows that he will always come when he is needed or for a good time.

Now let’s be clear, the “Soul Riders,” aren’t the only ones who command the roads. There is another group everyone knows you are signing a death wish if you fuck with them the wrong way. “The heart snatchers,” The name itself already gives insight into what you might expect if you cross their paths.

The leader of the group. Indigo Ivy Jones. Well as the clubs and the gangs call her. “Diana,” heavenly and Divine she can be. But you don’t wanna find out what happens when the angel wings turn into horns when she has had enough or bored of you. She knows the streets through the in’s and outs. Can make you fall to your knees begging for more or for mercy. The choice is yours.

Now to the right of her, None other than the well-known redhead Natasha Romanoff or the famous black widow. She can reel you in her seductive touch or her poison bite. You might wanna be careful how you cross blades with her, she can keep you hanging by a thread.

And what’s one black widow without the other, Yelena Belova. The younger sister of Natasha Romanoff. She is vibrant and could give less fucks about the bullshit. She is either your ally or enemy, not both. When she is in action, no one can stop her, and if you get in her way...She will just move you out the way.

Let’s not forget about one more person, Maria Hill, the one to keep things grounded. She knows how to blend in and keep her emotions intact. Her joining the crew was to get away when work became too much of an obligation, now as much as most biker crew out here have a thing about cops. Diana saw Hill become someone very much valuable and a key player especially when shit hits the fan and they need an escape fast.

These two groups never crossed paths before, only stories told from travelers, people in town, and whoever could jump in on the rumors. What happens when unexpected romance brews between one soul rider and heart snatcher, will more allies join or another enemy created...

Gender Bias in Trauma Driven Characters

     So as with most things I find I greatly enjoy, I’m a bit late to the party when it comes to finding ABC’s Stumpton. I ran across it yesterday on Hulu and started it up cause I had nothing better to do. 24 hours later I am deeply saddened to discover there isn’t more to watch.

     For those unfamiliar with the show, Colbie Smlders plays Portland, OR born and raised Dex Parios, a former Marine Intelligence officer turned PI. A mostly funtinal alcoholic with PTSD from her time in Afghanistan and a precious loss suffered there she’s doing her best to take care of herself and her brother Ansel, a 21 year old man with Down Syndrome who doesn’t let that stop him from being the most well adjusted and put together character in the entire series.

     If you watch Stumptown for no other reason then watch it for Ansel, because his character is a gods damn delight and it is beautifully refreshing to see a mentally disabled character who not only avoids getting potrayed as a constant victim or object of pity, but absolutely thrives. Cole Sibus is amazing to watch, steals every scene he’s in, and I really hope to see more of him in the future.

     I enjoyed the show so much I was suprised to see comments on the show, that while overall favorable, considered Dex’s character to be a bunch of basic cliches and that she felt unfleshed out or lacking character growth. It made me think of similar characters who are also largely trauma driven and how their judged and sense a bit of a gender bias.

     For example I love NCIS, I tune in every episode and I eat up the drama and I revel in watching Gibbs tear up the screen and fight for what’s right. However 18 seasons in Gibbs is by and large still the same trauma driven character he has always been and has evolved minimally beyond that. And while there are differences in the characters obviously, we see Gibbs as largely universally beloved and lauded as the stoic, manly man of justice he is, never demanding more from him or his cliches.

     We never ask him or other characters like him to change into well adjusted, happy men with perfect lives and no real problems because we know that doing this will ruin these characters and our connection to them. So why do we somehow expect this evolution in the same manner of trauma driven characters when they identify as female? What makes Gibbs perfect the way he is while Dex needs to get over her shit? How is Klaus Hargreeves the delightfully wonderful mess while Vanya Hargeeves needs to move past her trauma and get over herself?

      Are we incapable of handling flawed women with the same reverence we seem to flawed men? Are we less sympathtic to their curcumstances? Is it somehow more unbelievable for a women to not have her shit together than a man? I don’t know. But I can’t deny that women seem often presented as these near mythic creatures with their lives neatly compartmentalized and organized, all their little boxes labled and put away properly and when they aren’t, they’re cautionary tales, objects of scorn or laughter, or uplifting stories of getting to that majestical all figured out place.

     Meanwhile the opposite seems true of men. The bigger the mess and the burdens they carry with them, the manlier and more desirable they seem to be. The men with their lives in order are often played off as effeminate, or psychotic, or somehow otherwise undesirable while we’re encouraged to lust after the roguish bad boy we need to fix. It’s a dangerous double standard, one I personally hope dies a quick and painful death.

So, Dex (Colbie Smulder’s character) is confirmedly bisexual (like in the comics), yet the main love triangle of the show it’s gonna be her and two men... Also, when asked about whether the character is bisexual or not Colbie said that “yeah she sleeps around a lot”. I mean... Cmon. Disappointed but not surprised.

Unfortunately it’s still rare to see bisexuality be openly and fairly represented on network television. I hope I’m wrong about this one though and that even with this heteronormative love triangle her sexuality will be something well written and not just the girl who sleeps around and oops happens to sleep with other girls. Stumptown looks good, hopefully it won’t disappoint.

You were at the funeral. Her funeral. And you still couldn’t believe it. It couldn’t be. Maria couldn’t be… Dead.

But there you stood on the runway, watching as her coffin was brought back into the States. Your lip quivered and you tried to keep yourself together. You couldn’t help the tear that slipped from your eyes. And then another. They just streamed down your face. And you were powerless to stop them. Just like you were powerless to have stopped Maria from dying.

You wanted to yell at the woman. Tell her she wasn’t allowed to leave yet. There was so much that you still had to say. So much time that has been taken from the two of you. It wasn’t fair… Your mind spiraled in this tornado of chaos.

Elizabeth, Maria’s mother, eventually came over to you, embracing you tightly. Her touch anchored you back into reality slightly. You were shaking in the woman’s embrace. She then pulled back, holding you by the shoulders.

“I-I’m so S-sorrry, Eliz—” you stammered in a chocked up manner, but the woman hushed you.

“Don’t be, sweet girl. You were as close, if not closer to Maria, than I was…” she comforted.

“And I promise you, I will find out what happened to our girl…” Elizabeth swore to you.

You took a deep breath and nodded, thanking the woman before she went off. You talked with some other officials and such, attending the after-ceremony, while you saw Maria’s mom talking to a man in the distance.

You spent the next days, weeks in your apartment. Numb. Missing Maria. It was all so overwhelming. The only person you talked to nowadays was Elizabeth. She could somewhat understand your pain…

She’d told you what Fury had told her. The details helped you a little. But you knew that it wasn’t the whole truth… You were barely making it. Everything was day by day, one step at a time… Otherwise, you’d drown from all the grief around you.

Your life didn’t seem worth living without the love of your life..

One day, she dropped by, knocking at your door. You shuffled off the couch and made your way to the door. Opening it, you smiled lightly at the sight of Elizabeth.

“I want to show you something” she said, indicating for you to follow her.

You nodded, quickly excusing yourself o change into a new pair of black leggings and a long sleeved shirt. Then coming along into her car, she drove you out into what seemed to be nothing but land. The woman then stopped at a clearing.

“Where are we?” You asked.

“I… Reached out to Fury. Again. About you. He said he wanted to meet with you.” Elizabeth explained.

“Here?”

Suddenly a light descended in the middle of the clearing. And then there was a bright transport/elevator of some kind standing there. You got out of the car.

“That will take me to Fury…?” You quizzically asked.

The woman nodded.

“Thank you.” You told Elizabeth, before going to the doors of the ship and entering it.

The ship took you up. You held on to a side beam of the vehicle as it accelerated intensely. Moving really high up. You assumed outer space. Then suddenly it stopped. And the doors opened.

You stumbled out of the space pod and into some sort of space base corridor. You rounded the hallway and saw the SWORD logo on the wall. Eventually, you found the control room. And none other than the Nick Fury.

“Ms. L/N, I’ve been expecting you…” Fury cooly stated.

“I… Sir… Sorry, but why am I here…?” You stammered.

The man turned around to face you. His face was layers of masks, but you thought you could detect some… sympathy perhaps…?

“Follow me.” He said, walking out of the room and down the hall.

You nodded and followed the man.

“Elizabeth reached out to me about you, and how you had been taking Maria… being gone…” Fury sighed.

He led you into a room, an observation room with a two way mirror. But the other side was dark. You followed him into the room, closing the door behind him.

“We both thought it would be best if you know the truth…”

Then Fury switched the lights on. The other room lit up. It was very hospital like. And in there, laid Maria. She wasn’t moving. Your eyes widened and your mouth dropped. There was a monitor next to her, showing stable vitals.

What…?

“Is she…?” You whispered.

“Alive. Thank god.” He breathed out.

You were saved. Life had meaning again..

A wave of relief washed over you. Your life flashed before your eyes, her life with yours flashed before your eyes. Everything made sense again. You couldn’t breathe for a moment, you were getting so chocked up.

“W-why isn’t she… a-awake?” You stammered.

“She’s healing. Had a long recovery…” Fury sighed, “It’s all in here.”

He handed you a file.

“I didn’t just tell you because of what Elizabeth said. I’m telling you because I need someone who can watch her when she wakes up. The last men we used this specific procedure with had side effects…” He explained, indicating to the large file, “Read it. And then stay by her side as she recovers.”

You nodded swiftly.

“I understand…” you muttered, staring at the file.

Fury then left you in the room. You watched him close the door. You sighed, glanced at the brunette in the other room, your heart aching. Then siting down at the desk in the room, you began to read the file from the beginning.

Movie Review: Safe Haven (2013)

Starring: Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel, Colbie Smulders and others

Genre: Drama, Romance, Thriller

Country: USA

The film is based on Nicholas Sparks’ best selling fiction novel of the same title. I don’t usually go for romantic movies nowadays because it just makes me ‘eeehk’ 🥴 but this was recommended to me by a friend AND the hot + charming Josh Duhamel is one of the lead so why not 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve watched a few Nicholas Sparks movie adaptation and this one passed the vibe. The story was easy to follow and I liked the setting of the film. The locations were peaceful and breezy. It reminded me of summer. I didn’t read the book though so I’m not sure if the story is exactly as it is in the book but I enjoyed watching this for sure; it makes your heart throb— the good and the bad kind. Although, I kind of expected the surprise ending so it didn’t come as a shock to me but nonetheless had my tears falling 🥺

Josh Duhamel did a good job portraying his character Alex, the sweet sensible guy 🤩 so did Julianne Hough as Katie 💗 and let’s not forget Colbie Smulders as Jo 😉

Marvelvsmarvel Year in Review Pt I:

Looking back on Agents of SHIELD

I’m a Friends fan and I see this photo and it’s undeniable that AoS is the Friends series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of doing a breakdown of my thoughts on Marvel’s longest running tv series’s final season and possibly being overly critical and potentially negative I’d rather do a look back on some of my favorites of the show and how important it was for the small screen corner of the greater MCU.

Favorite Character: Daisy Johnson aka Quake formerly known as Skye sometimes called Destroyer of Worlds. Seems kinda obvious and Chloe Bennet is bae but Daisy has great depth and development from the beginning and literally all the way to the end. The sacrifice play. Not maintaining the mantle of Director of Shield. She’s continually a badass and continues to quake at her own frequency (really bad pun) and eventually ends up with the loving family, biological family, and love life that she had always been searching that she wholly deserves that we have all been pining for her to find.

Favorite Plot: The Framework and Hydra World of Season 4. The 2015 Secret Wars Hail Hydra series is also one of my favorite comics depicting a Hydra run universe and while this wasn’t exactly that THIS was a well done alternate universe storyline that absolutely flipped the show in my opinion. Ian De Caestecker was phenomenal as a villain the Doctor. Good double agent Grant Ward was such a great kicker. Finishing Aida off with a Coulson Ghost Rider is just beyond epic. The most epic part of the show for me. Ugh! Love it!

Favorite Episode: Season 3 Episode 13 “Parting Shot”. I know we all cried but dammit if I don’t mind crying over that scene a million more times! And it was just such a great episode because of that amazing twist of a moment that sent Bobbi and Hunter off. Plus the concept of having them individually cheers a shot to them to say goodbye is just so cool and and worthy of a spy’s goodbye.

Was AoS a perfect show? No. I even admittedly tell people to skip the first season if they want to try to get into it. And yes I didn’t particularly like the direction they took it the last two seasons although space and time travel are always fun. But was it a good Marvel show? It quite literally should be considered the best based on the longevity alone. The show was handcuffed from the start never to be a relevant Marvel show without any A-list characters and never to receive any recognition from the MCU films. But despite this AoS gave us that fun bunch of friends in that picture above with strong, beautiful, smart and diverse leading ladies, men who were not set out to be correct or the sole heroes but who simply tried to do the right thing and were always open to love and change, and of course they were anchored down by the one person actually from the films the incomparable Clark Gregg as himself Phil Coulson. And I can’t stress enough how important it was for this show to have been successful. This flagship show for Marvel Television opened the door for the more heavy hitting Netflix series Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher all of whom also needed to reference something of the films to show continuity but not expecting to ever get to crossover with them. And these Netflix series now brought to fruition the Disney+ series like Wandavision, Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki that are recognized as important parts of the MCU that will literally lead into the films. The journey for the cast and crew was indeed a real life mission in itself. As a fan a huge thank you to Jeff Loeb, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Clark Gregg, Chloe Bennet, Ming Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Ian De Caestecker who were there to start it off and fought for it to go as long as it did. We will forever be fans of yours and despite the better judgement we will always hope you might get the opportunities to relive your characters on the big screen someday. Special shoutouts the Samuel L Jackson and Colbie Smulders for making the cameos and to every other person who was ever a cast member on the show. It was an awesome run and one that should not be forgotten.

Does anyone here have top favorite moments in fandom clown shit with regards to characters of color? My two have got to be someone here unironically saying that MCU didn't whitewash Maria Hill because Colbie Smulders isn't white because her real name contains Maria which makes her Hispanic which makes her a POC; and someone asking what the proof is that Finn from Star Wars is Black. This site really is free.

There are just way too many to count. But I guess I can share this one time in the TMNT fandom where some idiots claimed "blackwashing" the turtles (when drawing them human) was racist because they were Italian....................

Yes I know there is a lot of stupidity in that claim alone. We covered them all at the time. Don't recall their replies after the amount of shade we threw at them. They probably didn't bother replying at all

Exhibit A: Maria Stark. Okay, she gets a pass. Prolly the OG Maria, since she's Tony's mom.

Exhibit B: Maria Hill. She's badass bc she's Colbie Smulders, but does anyone really know who she is?? No. Disappointing. I love her.

Exhibit C: Maria Rambeau. She's??? A main character??? But she's treated like a minor character. I wonder why . . . (no I don't).

May I present my Stumptown feels that nobody asked for but here they are anyway? ;)

I have to admit, Dex Parios kinda won me over in the opening scene of the first episode of Stumptown when she managed to crawl out of where she’d been locked in her own trunk and then proceeded to single-handedly DESTROY her kidnappers with whatever improvised weapon she could come up with, lol. ;)

I’m Team C’mon, Don’t Make Me Choose! :P They’re both good (and maybe sometimes bad) for Dex and they strengthen her in different ways. If there was EVER a time to OT3 it up in here, it would be in this show. Because a typical love triangle is only going to hurt everybody and I don’t want to see that. :(

I like that Dex is very strong and is even more of a mess at the same time. Seriously, she’s a mess. But I love that they’re letting her be complicated. She’s an Army vet struggling with flashbacks and PTSD. She’s not one-note. She’s cool and infuriating and sometimes she’s makes REALLY lousy choices and she pays the price and she learns from it. And then she still makes bad choices because, hey, that’s what being human is. We don’t Learn The Lesson then go on to Never Do Wrong Again. We fall down, we get up, we fall down, we get up again. That’s Dex.

DEX’S CAR! I LOVE HER CAR! It has a mixtape (yes, a cassette one) stuck in it and it plays JUST the song Dex needs to hear at the time. Dex’s car is its own character and I adore it! Also, it seems like we haven’t seen Car in a while, have we? More Car please! :D

Dex is bi and I love that it’s played as no big deal. Yeah, it’s a big deal if she CHEATS on somebody but nobody is clutching their pearls just because it’s with another woman. (Miles did wonder out loud if it still “counted” if it was another woman but it was done in a not sure, legit trying to understand way instead of either playing it where a lot of other shows would’ve gone, all “Ooo, so me, you and HER?” or like “Why didn’t you tell me you were gay???” like bi isn’t a valid orientation.)

There’s a lot more but I’m running out of GIF options and this is getting a little long anyway so! In conclusion, I’ve loved Colbie Smulders since we were introduced to her as Maria Hill in the MCU.

I’ve really been enjoying what Stumptown has been doing. It has action, humor, and angst, it has a complex female lead and it has two hot (and also complicated in their own ways) male characters who both really care about Dex. Oh and I didn’t even mention her brother Ansel, who has Down’s Syndrome but it feels to me like they handle him well and that the other characters treat him as a person, not a condition. I don’t want to speak out of turn on that, though, but I hope it really is as good a representation as it seems to me.

I am loving colbie smulders on this show so far. I didn’t know she had range but her character Dex feels really fleshed out. Grey in comparison played by Jake Johnson feels very similar to Nick from new girl not just the bar job but mannerisms etc. I hope he gets better. Like the chemistry with the cop too!

The Mosley Review: Spider-Man: Far From Home

Again and again and again Marvel Studios has delivered the best cinematic stories about their superheroes. They have proven in the past 10 years that with a clear vision and fantastic storytelling you can make something truly special and this film was special. The character of Spider-Man has had so many iterations and now comes another great live action film. From the moment this version of the character graced the screen in Captain America: Civil War, he already won my heart as he was truly a kid from Queens, New York stepping into a bigger world. Now that the Endgame has been resolved, we can actually get back into the life of our favorite wall crawler. I truly loved that we picked up almost immediately after the events of Endgame and you see the lasting effects it has had on people and in shocking and hilarious ways. The sacrifice that Tony Stark had made has been felt around the world and the weight of it falls on Peter Parker as he tries to go on with his life. The action in this film was absolutely stunning and dazzling with some of the best Spidey action we've seen so far. All of this is wrapped together in a multilayered story ark with many defining moments and brilliant surprises.

Tom Holland is once again the perfect embodiment of Peter Parker and this time he gets to dive into the character's emotional depths and relationships with his friends. I loved his timidness and uncertainty as he comes to terms with trying to live up to the legacy that Tony Stark left behind. It is a stressful and fun journey of self confidence and I'm loving his ever growing ark. Jacob Batalon returns as Peter's best friend Ned and he was even more hilarious and fun this time around. Those 2 together truly exude a real bond and they continue to charm the screen. Angourie Rice was even better as Betty Brant and she gets a number of standout moments. Zendaya continues to be fantastic and sometimes morbid as MJ and we get to see where that comes from. The chemistry between her and Peter was straight out a Hughes film and I loved the slow build to their inevitable love story. Samuel L. Jackson and Colbie Smulders return as Nick Fury and Miranda Hill and they were excellent and haven't skipped a beat. Fury is more paranoid and mean this time around and I liked it. Jon Favearu is back as Happy Hogan and the relationship between him and the wonderful Marissa Tomei as Aunt May, takes a step into something that will be fun in the future. The friendship between Happy and Peter grows deeper as does their partnership. Now Jake Gyllenhaal almost steals the film as Quentin Beck/Mysterio. He is one of the most prominent characters in Spider-Man's rogues gallery and I was curious how Jake was gonna portray him and he was perfect. He was exactly what I wanted and I loved that he was directly tied to Tony Stark in a brilliant way. I loved every moment he was onscreen and he was the equivalent to Alfred Molina's brilliant portrayal of Doctor Octavius in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2.

The score by returning composer and one of my favorites, Michael Giachinno, was outstanding and I will always love his theme, but I would've loved if he had kept the TV series theme for this iteration. Like I said before, the action was amazing and the immersive illusions and holograms that Mysterio creates feel ripped straight from the comics and I loved how brutal some get. It was stunning to watch as Spider-Man tried to navigate through them as it could've nearly drove him insane. It has been a kind of lackluster summer, but this is definitely one of the best blockbusters and a perfect film. It has taken 15 years and I never thought the day would come and now it is official. This film has surpassed Sam Raimi's 2004 masterpiece Spider-Man 2 and it is now the best live action Spider-Man film ever made. You MUST stick around for both credit scenes because of the powerful surprises they hold.
