Hey hey,

how exactly did Karai become mutated into a turtle in your version of tmnt?

Well, I haven’t really figured it all out 100% yet, but I definitely have gotten the main ideas down.

So I was kinda thinking she ends up getting mutated a little later on in the story, so maybe like a little after the Turtles get back from their space adventure or something like that.

She ends up getting mutated as like, collateral damage or something adjacent, but I definitely wanted it to be a sort of a breaking point between her and Shredder’s relationship. I’ve planned that it gets kicked off as the Shredder finds out about Karai’s relationship with Leo and so he uses her as a hostage against Splinter and the Turtles.

I think that too will help flesh out just how toxic The Shredder is. Like he has always seen Karai as a tool, and nothing more. Whereas Karai sees him as a somewhat obnoxious father, but still a father.

I’m not exactly sure where the mutagen would come in (I’m sure I’ll figure something out) but I decided that to help make sure that she is still 100% not related to the turtles, the turtle's DNA she gets merged with is actually her pet’s.

I thought it’d be kinda cute if during the time where Karai and Leo aren’t together, she gets a little pet turtle to remind her of him (since she still loves him). Most likely I figure she gets pulled out of her room while she’s playing with her little turtle and so even though Leo probably tries to save her, he doesn’t touch her so it’s only her little turtle’s DNA not Leo’s.

I think for the aftermath, there’s no way they’re all getting out of a situation like that unscathed—Karai being no exception—which also leaves sometime afterwards for them to be healing while she’s attempting to mentally heal from the fact that her father just used her as a hostage, tried to kill her and now she’s a mutant turtle.

While the turtles are pretty cool with the way they look, Karai would be pretty uncomfortable with such a drastic change like that, so I definitely wanna capitalize on that angst and growth between Leo and Karai as a couple, Leo helping her to accept who she is now.

I’ve gone back and forth on whether or not I want her to change back, and I ultimately decided no. Donnie basically explains that he is a robotics guy, not a geneticist and so he’s worried that tampering with something so complex like that would probably only cause more harm.

I created him a couple months ago and have developed him more and more over time!

He is supposed to have been an event toon that was created to celebrate Gardenview's anniversary. He acts as a magician, often performing tricks and magic shows, as well as helping to boost children's confidence. He loves making those around him happy, yet Glisten is rather jealous of him in my headcannon.

His trinket is the magic wand, which allows a toon 50% stealth when extracting from a machine (may be reworked on) and his ability is called 'Disappearing Act, in which he is able to have both himself, aswell as other nearby toons vanish temporarily from a twisteds sight (sorta like Connie's ability!)

To purchase him, you must have 2800 ichor and must have all mastery complete on Glisten! (this also may change)

(his Twisted is still yet to be designed, but he will be extremely slow and require sound to find toons, that I do know)

Hello!

When designing characters, I would always DM or get on call with Kat or Reed to get feedback about what they would like. Outfits, colors, expressions, etc.

So thanks to that, there weren’t very many concepts to choose from and I could continue progress without delay!

Well, I guess they’re not really designs, more like just adding onto them to fit a "it’s cold" theme

The reason I covered the majority of Mysterion with his cape (if you’re asking) was because I don’t have a design for him because he’s Mysterion, he gets hypothermia and lives, and it just seemed weird not to include him despite him having nothing added to him

I think I’ll info dump more about this alternate concept of Snow Day the next design post

Also, could someone tell me if this concept would make sense or not? It would be very helpful

Been inspired lately to think of origins of the ufo keychain. John usually has it, but I drew a piece of them as teens where Caro has it when they bought their car. Where did it come from? Who does it belong too? But it’s always been a fun little thing I hide in many of my pieces, and ever since @fidgetspringer actually cast and made me my very own, it’s on my mind a lot. The reason I draw it in the first place is because I had a friend who was very special to me and helped me discover my gender identity who had a tiny arcade prize ufo on their pink fjellraven backpack, and it was incredibly nostalgic to me, cuz you can’t find them anymore.

Maybe its origin involves a day trip to Seattle, a boy who’s embarrassed he doesn’t have any money to get a birthday present for his sweet little friend, and a sweet little friend who happens to think arcade prizes are especially special when won for them by their favorite person in the world <3

The reveals from minecraft live felt a bit underwhelming to me, like the lack of plant variety from a biome called the Pale Garden, so I tried coming up with some quick little concepts!
