Not my best sleep ever, but still getting used to waking up at 4am. Could have been better, but also could have been worse. I like to fall asleep to ASMR, but I think some generic white noise like rain would be better.

Despite that, I did my workout and got my steps in. I stuck to my meal plan. And, I may be a lot of things, but nutrient deficient isn't one of them!
The meal plan may be boring (fruit, chili, chicken, veggies, potatoes, protein shakes, fiber bars), but it's easy, I don't have to think about it too hard, and it keeps me full all day. I usually end my day with potatoes cause they're so satiating and make me happy.

I Tried Tracking Calories Like a Responsible Adult — Then Homemade Samosas Happened
Let’s be real: counting calories as an Indian vegetarian is like playing chess during an earthquake. You think you’re doing great — until someone drops off a plate of hot samosas and suddenly your macros look like modern art.
So I did what any chaos-taming millennial would do:
I downloaded Chronometer and committed to it for two weeks.
2800-calorie maintenance. 800-calorie deficit. A whole lot of lentils.
And yes — I survived. Barely.
Spoiler: It’s the most detailed nutrition tracker I’ve ever used.
Also spoiler: It made me realize poha might be plotting against me.
The good:
Nutrient tracking so intense it knows your iron levels better than your doctor.
Syncs with wearables like it’s training you for a nutrition-themed video game.
Recipe builder saved my rajma-rice routine from spreadsheet hell.
The chaos:
Logging “Mom’s Special Aloo Paratha” felt like filling out a tax form.
Dosa entries? A crime against South Indian cuisine.
Spent more time logging food than eating it.
Thinking of switching from MyFitnessPal or HealthifyMe?
I broke it all down: the pros, the cons, and a few hunger-induced hallucinations.
You’ll either want to download the app — or delete it from orbit.
Read the full calorie-fueled chaos here →

This app is crazy, and may even trigger eating disorders. When searching through the food, many foods lack all the right nutrition data, and there's sometimes wonkiness between certain items (like, a food item you scan is the exact food you have, but also listed as a completely separate item with another part of the food item brand company's name listed instead, which may include some data like amino acid profile on one label, but not on the other).
There is a women's health feature that they had/have (Idk if they have it anymore 'cause I won't waste actual money on this application), but I noticed it doesn't include IRON! Talkin' 'bout women of child bearing age, but failing to mention iron?! Do better.
Also, iodine and choline aren't even listed among the nutrients (maybe they are, but I have to pay money for a fancier version of the app to see the rest). Like, what?!? A dietitian's worst nightmare!
Especially as someone who has definitely had orthorexia, and still has orthorexic tendencies. Worse: any time Cronometer has a clinician guest speaker, it is ALWAYS a medical doctor. NEVER a registered dietitian. Are we a joke to the world? Jeez.
Tirade aside, I use Cronometer anyway to track my calcium, vitamin D, and some other key nutrients like B12, selenium, etc., as I am vegan 90% of the time. I went back to real eggs about two years ago, but I don't eat them every day.
I feel this day only met 96% of my needs because I ate almost 1.5 whole blocks of tofu, had half a scoop of Vega Sport, and supplemented calcium with D3, and B12. I ate chia and hemp seeds today. I usually do FAR more nuts than seeds, but am trying to eat seeds a few times a week. Good sources of micros and good for increasing gut biodiversity.

I love all the advice you're giving, but I'm still lost?? How to actually get enough nutrients without eating to many cals? How do I know how much protein I need? Same with fat? Potassium? Anything else besides those and vitamins that's crucial to watch out for? What does your typical day of eating look like?
You probably need to work on your definition of too many. You don't need to be at 300 a day to lose. Anything below your maintenance will make you lose. For me that's anything below 1600. I usually stay around 800-1200. It's slower loss but it's much less mentally crazy loss and enables me to get nutrients.
Use Sailrabbit to calculate your maintenance and tweak the daily calorie amount or weekly loss number to find a comfortable place for yourself. Go down to the bottom and find out what the maintenance for your goal weight is, too.
For protein, 1 gram per kilogram of body weight is ideal, but being a little bit lower won't hurt you. About 40-60 grams will be fine if you're a normal weight, 60-80 grams if you're overweight or obese.
Fat varies, for 800-1200 calories, a good limit is 40 grams, but anything up to 75 is fine.
I believe the safe limit on potassium is 2500 or so if you're afab.
Taking a regular multivitamin and eating a diverse selection of foods should keep you good. Try using Cronometer to track your micronutrients to keep in a decent range.
Fiber and liquids. Try to be getting 20-30 grams of fiber a day. You can supplement with metamucil. Liquids, 2-3 liters.
My days vary, usually I have coffee or chai with a protein shake for breakfast, some kind of fruit and a yogurt or toast with it, lunch might be a baked sweet potato with butter salt and pepper or it might be a vegetable heavy soup and avocado, dinner might be bean chili, chicken and a carb, lentil bolognese, another soup, whatever I end up making. If I have snacks it's usually dark chocolate or sea salt and vinegar chips. I also drink a lot of tea during the day that I typically have a little honey or raw sugar in and a splash of milk.
So you see I just eat normal foods. I have nutritious things and sweets. My servings are simply smaller. I use children's plates and bowls and silverware but large mugs for my hot drinks.

Nice Little Things Tag Game
Thank you so much to @casa-dei-corvei for the tag! I had to think on this one a bit. Also, I may have gotten a lil carried away and made it slightly angsty too =}
Rules: Choose 10 objects that you will place in the room of your Rooks on the places intended for customization. These should be small objects that can be placed in the following places: 2 on the tables by the doors, 2 on the tables by the aquarium, 4 on the bookcases and 2 on the walls. Attach a photo of these objects and give a short description of why your Rooks chose them.
No pressure tags to: @kai-dimir @waxlyricaloperaticmoon @lotusfueltofire and anyone else who is interested.
Please, I want to go through your blorbor's things.
Arden's Room
Two by The Door:

Overflowing Trunk - So, this is one object but it needs two pictures to really capture the situation. Arden wants to go home. Actually unpacking and using the furniture available means accepting the reality that they live here (The Lighthouse) now. The trunk is in fact an improvement from the travel pack they used to carry when hunting Solas. The "pile system" IYKYK, rather than any standardized order, is a separate issue. The clothes are clean just crumpled. One table has been removed to make way for this monstrosity.

"Snacks"- Experiencing food insecurity as a child has made Arden prone to hoarding food items. That doesn't always turn out the best. Four on The Bookcases:

Cronometer - The Fade is a wacky place and having some tie to the physical world makes everything slightly less overwhelming for Arden. Set to keep accurate time to one location, the team can use this piece to time Eluvian entry to other locals as well. With The Fade distorting reality in Arlathan though, it just makes sense to have the standard time set to somewhere else. The fact that it just so happens to be set to Treviso time is a pure coincidence.

Cosmetics Jars - Jars filled with unguents, ointments, beautifying agents, and warpaints. Small pre-battle/important event rituals are calming and help center them before action and wind down after. An addition benefit, is that frequently changing their look lends a certain amount of anonymity.

Playing Cards - Rook is excellent at Wicked Grace, but Arden prefers to spend time playing one of the many solitaire variations they've learned while traveling.
Pipe - An activity often paired with solitaire or with company after dinner. Arden has been making full use of Harding's magical Fade garden. Two on The Wall:

Assorted Herbs and Flowers Hung to Dry - Foraging lesson from the Veil Jumpers have paid off and Arden has grabby hands. There is always something in process.

Evidence/Note Wall - Adren is a noticer and a notetaker. It might not be important to you now but you never know. Conspirators abound...
Two by The Aquarium:

Moth In Cocoon - The little buddy hitched a ride in on some herbs. Now, it is a "companion" and captive audience to Arden's rants about how much everything sucks.

Jewelry Wrap - The items here are some of the most precious in the world to Adren. It contains gift's from Strife and their other adoptive father (since passed) as well as the few items they have from their bio family (alive but no longer in their life).

mexerica
purê de batatas, tiras de soja e tomates assados

What functions do key nutrients provide to the body?
Fundamental roles of nutrients are to provide energy, support bodily structure, and/or control bodily chemical reactions.
Fibre - Holds onto water in order to make you feel full, and regulates bowel movements.
Iron - Used to create amino acids, neurotransmitters, collagen and hormones. It is also used to make proteins responsible for holding oxygen in red blood cells and muscles.
Calcium - Needed to grow our bones, as well as reducing bone loss in later stages of life. Another important feature that not many know of is that it sends signals from the brain to tissues in the body.
Vitamin A - Creates immune cells that fights infections and inflammations. Additionally, it plays a role in determining what type of tissue cells become.
Potassium - Maintains fluid balance, muscle contractions, maintaining a steady heartbeat and transmitting signals through nerves.
It is much easier to obtain the nutrients required by having a well-rounded diet!
