Tuvok is not as autistic coded in-narrative compared to what I've seen of Spock or T'Pol where they're othered heavily by those around them and have themes and arcs about struggling/striving to fit in BUT I do think he provides the vital autistic representation of not really angsting about your differences from other people because you're too busy and unaware and then even when you ARE made aware you mostly just think 'glad that's not me'. I think it's vital to have that sort of totally unbothered rep. I love that Tuvok is completely satisfied and proud of being Vulcan, doesn't long to experience emotion or struggle with a desire to express himself in a way his crewmates will understand, to be closer to them. I love that he has a long time and close friend that respects who he is and doesn't try to change him and that how close they are isn't framed as being in spite of his Vulcan nature. I love that being Vulcan isn't framed as a hindrance to him, like a roadblock to living a full and rich life. He has a wife and four kids and is a devoted husband and father. He's getting into gay horror scenarios. Tuvok was born on autism planet and he's thriving.

I'd like to report that I've been testing all of these polls on my extremely average mid-60s mom. Only a handful of the polls with a "hot" majority have actually been labeled as understandably hot by her. Most have been met with incredulous eyebrow raises. I don't think I've ever seen her judge a group of people as ruthlessly as she's been judging Tumblr. I'm conclusion, we're all doomed

ultimate pet peeve is when people are like damn... the literacy crisis... and you are like real as fuck do you want to talk with me about your thoughts on how to restructure how we teach reading in schools because a lot of the current methods are outdated and ineffectual or ensure that low income families have access to books but it turns out they don't gaf about any of that they are just upset on account of they saw a sixteen year old on the internet say something rather lacking in nuance about the thematic content of NBC Hannibal

Sorry to bug you, but do you have a general estimation of when the next chapter comes out? I'm very excited for it; your work is really good and i'm pretty invested in the story! If I could give more kudos, I would. Of course, I can remain patient if it's gonna be a while. No rush, just curious!

I have about 2k words for chapter 36 so far, progress is just slow because I'm also working on a teaser video for arc 2 and I gotta edit arc 1 for continuity (which I haven't actually started yet). I don't think it'll be too much longer for the next chapter though, but I do have a lot more I need to do with it. It'll be a long chapter.

oh one other thing about focusing on “teachers assigning whole books” as a metric is that it doesn’t take into account what kinds of books and anecdotally i get the sense teachers have been selecting fewer classics and more, uh, YA novels. which are great things to read and not inherently lacking in artistic merit and i personally would put several YA novels very high on the list of books i like a lot. but also reading 100 YA novels is not in fact going to prepare students to read jane eyre.

Looking up videos of elden ring combo theory is kind of maddening. There's tech and it looks cool but the engine and frame data are so obviously fighting you more often than not. I wish fromsoft would further embrace the comparison to fighting games at some point and build a game with useful target combos and such. Hitconfirms and things like routing and meter management are really cool skills to call for in a game, and it's always frustrating that they're like, purely lab monster shit more often than not in these things. I guess ultimately souls games are more dungeon crawling rpgs than action or fighting games, but they've been leaning in that direction increasingly since bloodborne, so I'm surprised they haven't committed more
