Les Mis deck of cards concept <3
It's criminal that there are no playing cards with Les Mis character illustrations. So, here's my concept on assigning characters to each card!
Originally it was only supposed to be the figure cards but it got out of control. Bless the amount of side characters in that book.
The two jokers would be Valjean and Cosette, with classic mirrored illustrations, where one side would be their younger self:

There are still a few characters that could replace some of the ones there! Off the top of my head: Bouletruelle, Chapmathieu and the three convicts from his trial, Conventionnel G-, Marguerite, Sister Perpetue, Musichetta, Floreal, Musain girls, the lady from Gorbeau House, minor Patron Minette members

Or maybe I’m the clingy one in this scenario? I don’t know who’s to blame but clearly one of us is attention seeking and the other is desperate for human connection. A recipe for disaster probably /j

#he gets more and more out of character as the days go by :’)#think it’s because my variation of Puzzles (in the self-insert segments of the sketchbook at least) is consciously aware of his role#the role I assigned him as my ‘comfort character’ impacts how he attempts to act around me#I wouldn’t say he’s going along with it as some elaborate act but it is almost as though he’s filtering himself more?#making conscious decisions to respond differently then his canonical counterpart for my benefit#like he wants to do a good job at fulfilling this designed ‘comfort character’ position—but he’s never acted the part before#Puzzles is used to doing things solo and not putting the care into being good for the sake of someone else#so a lot of his words or actions feel off or forced because he’s unsure how to go about it#‘comfort character’ is out of his comfort zone but he’s willing to try and do whatever it takes to prove he can be good at it#….does this justification make any sense idk 🤷#whatever it’s indulgent sillies of course it’s going to be weird pfff#my take is that I’ve abducted him into my brain and formed this strong attachment to his character#he doesn’t know what queerplatonic is (or basic friendship for that matter) and is improving random shit hoping it helps me feel better lmao#ladies and gentlemen this is a man who was NEVER designed to be a comfort character and yet here we are (send help)#he’s trying oh so hard and always cringe failing#except those moments when I vent to his character and he gives semi-helpful responses because he gets in his head a lot too#we are both creatives with so much ambition and no clear direction because of all those self-imposed doubts or expectations#think he’s allowed himself to share that vulnerable common ground with me#…and also because as long as I’m obsessing over him he’ll get more animations & fanart LOL#so why not settle being a comfort character for a while if it means he gets my free labor jskjsksp#guys is this getting too meta and introspective help#doodles#sketches

knowing that some teenagers aren't even bothering to learn the wonderful art of bullshitting an essay is really giving me a complex about people not bothering to think in fandom... I've been here for years, i know full well how idiotic and incompetent fandom's always been at analysing whatever media it is, it's just the existence of that demon ai crap has really started haunting me.
#i come from a school era where being told to research something for homework#was an assignment where the whole class Prayed the teacher wouldn't remember to say 'don't just print out wikipedia pages'#so you could print out wiki pages and not actually have to write it out yourself#i get the urge to do the bare minimum#but at least this involved actually looking this stuff up#sometimes one person would be designated printer outer#and we'd distribute the pages among the group so we all had something#ironically this probably assured that we all actually read the research so we could all end up with something helpful lol#everybody probably would have done less work had we all just printed stuff out ourselves

Time for more eternal gales isat au, this time featuring Sier as Isabeau, creating a sprite I can never use next to Aris’ because despite my best efforts it would make them look tall
#keese draws#eternal gales#oc#oc art#isat#in stars and time#this one didn’t take nearly as long as the aris one but I think I suffered for it more from the clothes alone#siffrin made me forget I suck at drawing clothes rip#this was also harder because of how much trickier it was to try and adapt siers design to feel fitting enough for my standards#they have a very stylized design compared to most of the others#I kind of took the lazy route out by keeping most of their original shapes in tact but it’s fine#sier in this au would serve the needed role of emotionally intelligent bestie who is also too scared to cross boundaries to do much#but despite this I do think they’d actually get the suspicion quest in this au#mostly because mase is a furry artist not a nerd and sier would be more likely to look at aris and go bro. are you in a fucking timeloop.#it also differs in that aris doesn’t yell at sier abt it instead looping before they can finish because she can’t handle hearing them be#right on the money about this thing that she thought she was handling perfectly#she doesn’t want to fail them she doesn’t want them to realize she’s failed them she doesn’t want to be a burden she doesn’t want them to#‘realize’ they’re better off without her#aris is Incredibly resistant to accepting help on most serious issues because shes convinced that it’s her responsibility to deal with it#by herself and that if she can’t then she’s a failure and worse than useless#I mean in canon eternal gales she literally loses her eye and arm because of that#in this au she just lost them how sif lost his eye but she still has. complexes abt all that.#but yeah sier also differs wildly from isa in many Many other ways as does the rest of the cast from their assigned characters#for sier they rly aren’t the jock of the group at all instead being more of the guy who keeps the mood lighthearted at all times lest they#die of stress because the others haven’t said anything in a whole 30 seconds#aka they’re the self assigned peacekeeper who doesn’t actually need to constantly keep the peace because no one’s fighting but they still#feel like they need to so they dance and dance and dance for their friends until they collapse from exhaustion#metaphorically ofc#this is why they’re both terrified to confront aris when she starts acting a bit fucked up but also why they still do sometimes anyways#they talk abt this a lil bit in their friend quest as they talk abt how they want to change but are scared to

i love school because i inevitably end up with too many tasks and don't complete any of them!
#i mean it would help if my group for the group project had any sense of direction#it would also help if this class had any sort of organization that made sense to me#or if our member who made himself project manager didnt disappear off the face of the earth#or if we were given more time#i said it at the beginning that we weren't gonna have enough time and i was right!#little hater variety hour#im sorry but did we need a full class devoted to vr??? instead of talking about something important like level design???#like every class session i feel like im just wasting time but also like idk what i even supposed to do with it to complete this assignment#it would have also helped if my remaining group members would contribute anything#im letting them finish it. i dont care if we fail. ill go down with this ship#this is a lie i will be checking to make sure something gets submitted but i am not putting in any more effort#i swear i need to take manager and leadership classes with how often i end up trying to manage a project where i am objectively#working on the biggest and most important part while my group members wont help when i prompt them as they speculate on the stuff that cant#be completed until the part im working on is done#i hate group projects

#help i cant find enzymatic pathways in the textbook#my brain is also telling me to drop out but its past 9pm and ive been told not to trust my thoughts after that time period#also if i drop out i basically won't be able to find a job that i like#cause bio (which im studying) is the only thing im good at (art is subjective so) and id definitely need a degree for that#and i doubt anyone would hire a dropout graphic design student#and i hate my art anyways so i wont even want to put myself out there#but i feel like I'm failing (im not i just have 3 missing assignments and have no motivation to do them)#i also have my summer class extension time running out and i feel like ive gotten nowhere#and im feeling lightheaded from hyperventilating about it all so yippee!!!
