Common Mistakes to Avoid When Taking Your Practical Test in Manchester
Passing your practical driving test is a major milestone on the road to independence. However, many learners find the test to be nerve-wracking, and even the most prepared candidates can make mistakes that could cost them a pass. If youâre getting ready to pass your practical test in Manchester, being aware of common mistakes can help you avoid them and increase your chances of success. In this guide, weâll highlight some of the most frequent errors learners make during their driving test and offer tips on how to avoid them. Plus, weâll introduce you to how Learn and Drive UK can help you prepare with top-quality driving lessons in Manchester.

1. Inadequate Observation at Junctions
One of the most common reasons learners fail their practical test is due to inadequate observation at junctions. This mistake often occurs when drivers do not check their surroundings thoroughly before emerging into a junction or when turning.
How to Avoid It:
Always approach junctions with caution.
Take the time to check all mirrors and ensure that you have a clear view of the road.
Look both ways, even if you believe the road is clear, and make sure thereâs enough space for you to proceed safely.
Practice makes perfect, so if you feel unsure about junctions, ask your instructor at Learn and Drive UK to dedicate extra time to these situations during your lessons.
2. Not Using Mirrors Properly
Failing to use mirrors correctly is another common mistake. This includes not checking mirrors when changing lanes, turning, or slowing down. The test examiner is looking to see that youâre aware of your surroundings at all times.
How to Avoid It:
Develop a habit of checking your mirrors regularly while driving, not just during your lessons.
Make sure to check your mirrors before signaling, changing speed, or changing direction.
Remember the MSM routine (Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre) before performing any driving action.
At Learn and Drive UK, our instructors emphasize the importance of mirror use in every lesson, ensuring you build this critical habit.
3. Poor Control of the Vehicle
A lack of smooth control over the vehicle can lead to mistakes like stalling, harsh braking, or jerky steering. These issues not only indicate a lack of confidence but can also create dangerous situations on the road.
How to Avoid It:
Practice clutch control, smooth acceleration, and braking in a variety of driving situations.
Stay calm and composed during your test, as nerves can often lead to overcorrecting or losing control.
Take advantage of the mock driving tests offered by Learn and Drive UK to simulate test conditions and build your confidence.
4. Incorrect Use of Signals
Failing to signal correctly or at the right time is another common error. This can include not signaling at all, signaling too late, or leaving the signal on for too long after completing a turn.
How to Avoid It:
Make signaling a habit every time you intend to change direction or move off.
Ensure youâre signaling in good timeâneither too early nor too late.
After completing the maneuver, check that your signal has canceled; if not, turn it off manually.
During your lessons at Learn and Drive UK, your instructor will help you practice the correct timing and use of signals until it becomes second nature.
5. Misjudging Speed Limits
Another reason learners fail their practical test is by not adhering to the speed limits, either by driving too fast or too slowly. Driving too slowly can cause frustration for other drivers, while speeding is not only dangerous but can lead to an automatic fail.
How to Avoid It:
Familiarize yourself with the speed limits in different areas of Manchester, especially around the test routes.
Always be aware of the speed youâre traveling at by regularly glancing at your speedometer.
If youâre unsure of the speed limit in a particular area, itâs safer to slow down until you spot a sign.
Learn and Drive UK instructors will ensure that youâre comfortable with speed control and recognizing speed limits, so you feel confident during your test.
6. Not Responding to Road Signs and Markings
Road signs and markings are there to guide you, but they are often overlooked by learners during their test. This can lead to serious mistakes such as entering a no-entry zone or failing to yield when required.
How to Avoid It:
Pay close attention to all road signs and markings, and make sure you understand what they mean.
Regularly practice interpreting and responding to signs while driving, especially in the areas where your test will take place.
Learn and Drive UK offers targeted practice sessions focusing on understanding and responding to road signs and markings, ensuring youâre well-prepared.
7. Poor Parking Skills
Parking is a part of the practical test that can be particularly challenging for some learners. Whether itâs parallel parking, bay parking, or parking on the side of the road, poor parking skills can result in a test failure.
How to Avoid It:
Practice different types of parking as much as possible, in different environments, and under varying conditions.
Take your time to position the car correctly, and donât rush through the maneuver.
During your lessons with Learn and Drive UK, make sure to ask your instructor for extra practice on parking if you feel itâs a weak area.
8. Lack of Confidence
Nerves and lack of confidence can lead to a range of mistakes during the test, from hesitation at junctions to second-guessing yourself on decisions. Itâs important to manage your nerves and maintain confidence throughout the test.
How to Avoid It:
Practice, practice, practice! The more familiar you are with driving, the more confident youâll feel.
Simulate test conditions with mock exams to help ease nerves on the actual test day.
Remember that itâs okay to take your time; donât rush decisions, and stay focused.
Learn and Drive UK offers a supportive learning environment with experienced instructors who will help you build the confidence you need to pass your test.

Driving is a significant milestone in life that brings both freedom and responsibility. Whether you're a teenager eager to hit the road or an adult looking to finally get behind the wheel, embarking on the journey of obtaining your driving license in Manchester begins with taking driving lessons. This comprehensive guide will explore the importance of driving lessons and the steps involved in earning your driving license.
The Importance of Driving Lessons
Safety First: One of the foremost reasons for taking driving lessons in Manchester is to ensure safety on the road. Professional instructors are trained to teach defensive driving techniques, which can be life-saving in various situations. They also help instill good driving habits, reducing the risk of accidents.
Legal Requirements: In most countries, taking driving lessons from a certified instructor is a legal requirement for obtaining a driving license. Skipping lessons or attempting to learn to drive without proper instruction can result in legal consequences and difficulties in obtaining a license.
Confidence Building: Learning to drive can be daunting, especially for beginners. Driving lessons in Manchester provide a safe and controlled environment to build confidence. As you gain experience and knowledge, your fear of driving will diminish.
Learning Rules and Regulations: Driving lessons are not just about operating a vehicle but also understanding traffic laws and regulations. Instructors ensure you are well-versed in these rules, helping you become a responsible and law-abiding driver.
Steps to Earning Your Driving License
Determine Eligibility: Before enrolling in driving lessons, check the eligibility requirements for obtaining a driving license in your area. These requirements typically include age restrictions and minimum vision standards.
Choose a Driving School: Research a reputable driving school with certified instructors. Consider factors such as location, pricing, and reviews when choosing.
Enroll in Driving Lessons: Once you've chosen a driving school, enroll in a program that suits your schedule. Most schools offer a variety of packages, including classroom instruction and practical driving lessons.
Theory and Classroom Instruction: Many driving lessons in Manchester include a theoretical component covering road signs, traffic laws, and safe driving practices. This knowledge is essential for passing the written test later.
Practical Driving Lessons: The core of your training will be the valuable driving lessons. These sessions will teach vehicle control, parking, merging, and other essential driving skills. Listen carefully to your instructor's guidance and practice regularly.
Pass the Written Test: In most countries, you must pass a written test to demonstrate your knowledge of traffic laws and road signs. Study the material provided during your driving lessons and take practice tests to prepare.
Pass the Road Test: The final step is the road test, where you'll demonstrate your driving skills to an examiner. Your instructor will help you prepare by simulating the test conditions during your lessons.
Receive Your License: Once you pass the written and road tests, you will receive your driving license in Manchester. Congratulations, you're now a licensed driver!
In addition to the core benefits of safety, legality, confidence building, and understanding rules and regulations, driving lessons also offer the advantage of personalized instruction. Certified instructors tailor their guidance to address your specific strengths and areas that need improvement, ensuring you become a skilled and responsible driver.
Furthermore, modern driving lessons in Manchester often incorporate technology, including driving simulators and video tutorials, enhancing the learning experience. These tools provide a realistic and risk-free environment for practicing challenging scenarios, helping new drivers build competence and self-assurance before hitting the open road.
Conclusion
Obtaining your driving license is a significant achievement that opens doors to countless opportunities and adventures. However, it's essential to remember that driving is a privilege with great responsibility. The journey starts with taking driving lessons, where you learn the mechanics of driving and the ethics and safety aspects of being a responsible driver. previous part
â dianna
It has been nearly three months since youâve seen Simon. Boot camp has been nothing short of Hell, heâs told you in his letters. But he also tells you heâs happy. That the busyness makes him forget about his family. Or the lack thereof. That the working out makes him feel human again, and he loves the physical labor. Loves feeling needed.
And you write back that you love him. And that you canât wait to see him again.
But the tap out is today. Youâre bouncing on your feet getting ready, dressed in the sweetest sundress you own, taming your waves and beating your face. Youâre a vision by the time youâre done and you nearly fall down the stairs from excitement. Imagine that.
âSorry babe! Canât come get you! In the hospital! Catch a ride! :,)â Ludicrous.
You make it to your car by some miracle and youâre at awe at the English scenery, and how it swishes by in an instant. Old buildings lining the busy streets, and historical landmarks on each corner. Such a vibrant city, Manchester. You canât wait for Simon to be reminded of all of it.
You drive an hour or so out of the city, to a base secluded in on open field. Youâve never been to this part of England, despite living your life here. You park your car among others. Among mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. You realize now, that even if Simon makes this a permanent thing, you will not be an island unto yourself.
This thought comforts you as you walk, guided by signs and fancy military higher-ups. You see a field of men, dressed nearly the same despite some missing hats and some donning a jacket. A man finishes making a speech that has no significance to you, and you search the sea of men for Simon.
Searching excitedly for him, you bump into a man who dwarfs you. He is considerably large, his shirt fighting for its life. You scramble to apologize, looking up at him to realize heâs wearing. . . a plain black balaclava? The bridge of his nose is visible between his eyes, but everything else is simply a shadow.
But youâve seen these eyes before. These eyes have undressed you, and these eyes have watched you walk from your final lesson to the parking lot. These eyes watched you graduate secondary school.
Is this Simon?
Who is this? It canât be him.
The man takes off the balaclava before your mental battle is over and shoves it into his back pocket, wrapping a strong arm around your shoulders before kissing you sloppily â not giving you a moment to register the face under the fabric.
You pull away, your hand flying to pull your neckline above your cleavage again and you apologize.
âYou have got the wrong girl, I can assure you! My boyfriend is around here somewhere. Maybe you know him? Simon?â And the man chuckles gruffly, forcing you to look at him.
âI know him well, dove,â he whispers softly, kissing your forehead. Millions of questions rush through your mind.
When did Simon get so strong?
Whatâs with the balaclava?
There is no time for you to ask for any answers before a man walks over, an ignorant saunter in his hips and a grin larger than life itself plastered on his face.
âThis your bird, Ghost?â The man chuckles softly, patting your boyfriendâs back. He is so chipper and Scottish enough to almost make his words incoherent.
Ghost? What the hell happened while he was away from you?
âSheâs my girlfriend, Johnny. Not just a bird,â
âAye, my fault. Nice to meet you.â The man â Johnny â winks at you and shows himself off somewhere else.
âIâll explain everythinâ later,â Simon says, as if he can read your thoughts. He follows you to the car, and the ride is silent.
So is dinner.
So is aftercare.
There are never answers. The balaclava sits on his desk, teasing you. Daring you to press the issue. But you never can. You wake up next to Simon for the duration of him being home, but youâre unsure who it is youâre truly waking up besides. Who has killed Simon and left this man in his space? In your bed? In your shower? Who has killed Simon and left this man to fuck you?
You feel horrible, you do. But, itâs. . . heâs quieter. Curter with you. This is when you decide to press the issue.
You decide while heâs nose-deep in your tits is best. Licking and biting like a man starved, getting his friction from the sheet.
âWhatâs with the mask?â
He audibly groans, negatively, and sits up. âGood timinâ,â he snarks and goes to change into some new sweatpants. âNothinâ âbout it, luv. Just donât want all those people seeinâ my face. I âonât know. Didnât figure itâd be an issue.â He explains, almost bored. âDonât know these people. Donât tell âem my name.â
âAnâ you never thought to mention thisâa me?â Youâre not sure why youâre so irritated about this. Maybe because Simon has changed so much, so quickly. The muscle you donât mind. But itâs everything else. The anonymity. The curtness. You know what happens from here, and it causes your eyes to sting. You know that one day, Simon will go from curt to silent. He will lose everything that brought you to him, and he will be a shell of himself. War is not kind. It is not gentle. It tears and destroys all in its path. War is not about what is right, it is who is left when all is said and done. And youâve started crying.
âYouâre different, Simon. You are short with me now. These is a different air about you. You donât even wear the same cologne! You havenât even unpacked your duffel, âike youâre readyâa go back already! Youâre still hiding things from me! Why are ya doinâ that?!â Youâre ready to keep screaming but he cuts you off by shoving your face in his pecs. Itâs not so bad here.
âStop.â He orders. Already barking like orders like heâs some kind of Lieutenant. Oh, God, Lieutenant Riley? Could you imagine? You hope he lives to make it that far. âI understand why yâre upset, luv. Yâre scared of change, and of my change, but we werenât goinâa be those same, timid fuckinâ secondary kids forevâa, yeah? Hell, yâve changed âfore I did. Yâre gorgeous, and yâre a spitfire, luv. Got a sharp tongue now. Iâm sorry ifâya think Iâve been short witâ ya. And Iâm not hidinâ nothinâ from you. I jusâ like my privacy, yeah? Donât know those men, yeah? Nâ Iâm sorry that me losinâ the cologne is botherinâ ya, but it was from my Dad, luvvie. Couldnât keep holdinâ onâna it.â He explains, and you feel a bit silly now. âWe were boundâa change, luv.â He shrugs, kissing your head. âHow can I make it easier for ya?â He asks, and your heart melts. You know now that you only have one condition.
âIf you can just stay alive, that would be enough.â You plead, big olâ doe eyes and batting eyelashes helping your case tenfold.
âIâll fight for you, my luv. No one else can protect you like I can,â he says and you snort. So cocky, so quickly. You give him that luxury.
âAny other conditions, luv?â He asks, chuckling gruffly at your snort.
âI bought some new rubbers in preparation for today. Yes, there are manyâa ways you can make this easier,â you wink. Youâre stumbling into bed so quickly that you forget the rubber that started this to begin with.
Oh, whatâs one round without it?

Where can you look for them?
PICK A CARD READING
Where all the boys at with emotional stability? Nice car, a CEO, and almost just as smart as me Where all the boys at with financial security? A doctor, a model, a man of possibilities They say, "Expectations are too high And youâČll never find a guy like that" It's driving you mad, honey They say, "That itâČs just a waste of time Get your head out of the sky", but why? (Here we go) Oh, I, wish I could synthesize A picture perfect guy, oh, I, oh, I.....
Listen up, there's already saturation of lots of love reads on Tumblr, if this ain't for you, not for you, go away, walk away, find some other read, its not for you, let other people have their bit, pleeeeeeease.
Pile 1
Pile 2
Pile 3
This is going to be a mini read, about where the eff you will find your picture perfect guy/girl? They can be someone Karmic, Soulmate or Divine counterpart. Karmic doesn't mean I allow abusive energies, just fun people here to teach you your lessons. Now this can be your idealized person, doesn't mean the one you are supposed to have a happy ending with. But you know we have all wondered about him/her and their whereabouts. So Let's see what comes up
Pile 1
Girl I'll be honest I cleaned the space properly today, but the first hint that came for you is F.T. ISLAND, and when it came through I forgot where the eff F.T Island was but channeled Epstien's Island though I immediately dismissed it but after searching who F.T ISLAND was I was shocked to discover an involvement of it members in Burning Sun Scandal. I know this sounds crazy but he might be a memer or a troll of Pdfiles and grapists maybe because of his frustration that government does nothing. I clarified this message and got a message of a kind hearted or meek or very shy reserved yet confused and foolish soul that gets eaten by predators easily. They might have been a target or victim of many improper attacks against them by the people who have known them through and through and might have created rumours around them to succeed against them ,they had to leave their inner child or innocence behind unwillingly for it was forcefully taken away from them. They might have been a victim of such attacks, had abusive people like these in the workplace who might have made rumours about them. "If you gave me a chance I'll take it, its a shot in the dark but I'll make it". Oh my gosh this person understands the suffering of being in a miserable state so they help others through their disparity so they are a sort of a Vigilante maybe or may have been or they could be in the [process] a secret process of disproving these claims made against them. Woah girl, I feel you are gonna be that Mary Jane and other typical normal human girlfriend of some part time colleague, part time Avenger typa person. Good luck!
I am getting England or Gloucostershire or the town of Cheltenham, Churchdown, Newport, Cardiff or South England near the Bristol Channel. Places like Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemborg. Also I am getting Bay areas like South Carolina USA, and maybe Atlanta and Georgia, (USA). I feel like he might live in a native english speaking country, you might meet him around some bay area, shoreline or coastal area, bordered by huge bodies of water. You may hail from there, may work at these places or have a good shares, property or lands in these areas. I am also getting Western Yorkshire, and Manchester around the Bolton area. I was also getting an EFFBOY. Maybe you guys will meet when one of you isn't committed, also I am hearing a heartbroken sad song, so maybe one of you will get heartbroken or their trust is broken by the other person. I am also getting Brown eyed Girl by Van Morrison. So maybe they or you could have Brown or hazy brown eyes. You could be confident about meeting them only to remember this past pain or mistake in London, Boston especially for some of you. I feel like many of you can hail from Ireland, might or might not have seen this person before but you damn sure know about them. Maybe this a reconciliation for many of you choosing this pile. FKB or the German airport, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden Airport could be significant. Maybe you will meet them or reconcile with them on grounded Kobe beef eating session. Coastal areas of Kuwait coming through.
Woah Pile 1, Bodak Yellow by Cardi B coming through, main character energy, easy going persona coming through
Pile 2
"Pittsburg is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States." New Orleans, New Jersey. I also feel like you aren't going to find them far away from your hometown or homeland. You don't seem the type to move that much. They or you could work in CHP
California Highway Patrol (CHP):
The state law enforcement agency responsible for traffic safety and other duties on California highway
So I am literally getting an officer, maybe a fake officer for some of you. Idk but Iam also getting UMK Korea, Universal Music Group Korea, but I also channeled North Korea, so maybe some of you or they might be immigrants who have now settled and found work in South Korean Music Industry, or a part of movie industry. Doesn't mean one of those baseline jobs, seems something where they/you could be laying off people. They could be the one who built the foundations of their company, they could be lying to you about their job or the placeholding they might have in their company for a very very long time and might come off as a total stranger or fake police officer at the start maybe. Invasion of privacy? a threat? A very clean and hygienic energy, They do not like boundaries, are reckless, prone to accidents maybe, but are calm and collected about it, so yeah hard to connect with as they can be a Stray, like literally an orphan or someone who works with Stray Kids from JYP entertainment (just guessing cause UMK came through). So it can be hard to connect with them. Ok this is a very straightforward hyper independent person who doesn't likes being helped by others, their confidence or light literally dims when someone tries to help them, as they seem to associate it with their incapability. Their masculine energy is stronggggg!!!! Their socio-economic and cultural background might different than yours, maybe a little unpopular. I'm also hearing their previous person or relationship might have given them a draft or some public notice shaming them for their culture. "Culture vulture" might be term they were shamed with as a kid maybe. So someone who aren't that sure of their own abilities to hone in and master the skills of their ancestors and pass down this to the younger generations. Their biggest insecurity is their culture and their ancestory if so I may say that they aren't locked in to their culture and it hurts them to be like this. As a kid they used to be fat-shamed as Bao Bao, Dumplings, Samosa, Petu Raaj (Chubby King), Phatty. I think as a grown up it hurts them a lot. I think they might meet you while they are getting over their ex and might tempt you for becoming their rebound.
They might have a child from their prev marriage. While they might be onto that rebound, don't worry they will tell you the truth, it maybe a reunion to some of you, you might know them from before somewhere and might remember them. They might not know that though. And I think once communication starts its a rollercoaster ride for both of you.
Goodbye, this ain't Nasty 18+ read, you 2 dirty minds, at first this feels like a situationship which turns into something more, you will know when its official, like literally, you will sense a ring way before the proposal day comes. You might go on fishing trips with their child with chum buckets and what nots. Aquarius, 11th house and Uranus energy coming through. Best believe they might be an Alienic or ( have Alien-icks in bed )to your culture, religion, belief systems and what nots. "I just feel like going abroad and kissing someone's p*ssy" Ok pile 2 your person's dirty AF. Bye, to both of you
Pile 3
Unholy by Sam Smith coming through, Right off the bat lemme tell you, Body Shop or a club or a bar. Pick your poison. This pile gives off ick towards polyamorous relationship but maybe they are in a phase of dating one
France, Paris, Italy, Latin American coming through. London, CĂłrdoba,Spain coming through as well.
This place in Spain especially coming through like clouds and the rain, I'll follow you everywhere
Dirt Bikers coming through, they could be the mountain biking type. The anime Idaten Jump comes through, just like sam's unholy opening you could meet them in a mechanics shop or something. They could be a mountaineer. Nick DiGiovanni and Italian Tiktok chef Fabrizio Pigliucci, the " bon appetito betch" guy comes to mind. He could a very sporty individual, cooking his own meals, very reserved and conservative in his mindset, someone's whose mind is rooted to their culture but also someone loud, sporty or atheletic. They can have Quinceanera in their tradition as well, they were the type to look for trad wife. I guess you have already met your picture perfect guy and are someone with a good set of future standards for men, after meeting them. This man roves on a KTM RC, trust me, this is a biker.
Another Channeled place : Fuente Obejuna,
This guy/girl of yours is somewhere around the Andalausian plains, Girl go and find him. Who is he? Even I am curious, dude's been moving me to all the places in CĂłrdoba, Bro lives somewhere around here maybe, or somewhere around the southern Andalausian region, The place he could hail from could be south west of Corodba. For some (since this pile seems a bit like general read for me, beaches of California, or a place whose name could start with And______
but Spain coming through significantly).
He could be someone with Famas gun or Loves Famas guns in Online battle grounds, I'm also getting the word "sinking". You both might meet while online player based games, and some of you may find him sinking through a well, or something about "Famas Original" coming through. Idk who this dude is, but there are many people behind your person.
I had to literally hold a Tiger's eye stone to weed out excess energy. Also these people who could be chasing them aren't their type. I'm literally getting "I just wanna be yours" by Arctic Monkey's Wanna be yours. Babe you will know this person the moment he lays his eye on you, cause this dude's type to rush behind the highest or the trendiest stuff of the day. And you could be that! They might have a store filled with glamorous stuff, very high end as well. They like to maintain their collections and have very high and classy aura about them. They are someone who's very show off, and babe they love to show you off as well. This dude literally reminds me of Roland, Japan's richest Host and dang you are their person. This person loves you and keeps you like a little keepsake, according to them and their love language, you are an arduous reminder of something they struggled with in their life and have now succeeded and overcome it due to all the failures they face. You could have been there for them or will or might enter into this person's life in this little phase. Their love language can be a bit show offy but they will love you for who you are as well. They just love admiring and adoring you. The love they provide might not be so intense but its joyous and playful according to me and some of you might literally enjoy that.
I am kinda getting that they could be someone like Jennie Kim from Blackpink. Kinda Roar, Kinda Kinky, Kinda Slayy, Kinda Sassy all at the same time. 12:12 on the clock, they can appear a bit fishy, or suspicious but are a cutie patootie inside. This pile literally gives off Goth, Gangsta person yet a cutie pie when it comes to love.
Be careful of Public smex, PDA's and what not cutesie stuff. You might by mistakely walk in on them in Bathroom for some of you.
8th house air placements, 8th house mercury, they are good with their dirty talk, you might fluster over their words. I'm channeling "web of words". Dude this person's confusing though. They can have soul karmic ties with you. You might have to teach him a lesson gurl, cause this looks like a situation-ship or a hookup to me. His words are so much like Ranveer Allahbadia, like he might say that he is interested in something but is actually someone who makes fun of those very hobbies and creative expressions that they say they like. If this is 8th house mercury synastry let me telll you, people with these synastry placement, the mercury person might gossip about the house person's private life and that ain't right, usually 8th houser suffer a lot with their privacy being invaded by this synastry so be careful who you share your life with, let the cat get your tongue if possible, your instincts might be trying to protect you.
Though for some of you, this is a soulmate or a love mate, perfect partner right here, they'll be close to your family or other partner if this is Polyamorous relationship, maybe brown for some of you here, will have greater intellect and will help you through your family finances and property dealings, a lawyer for some of you. They are cutthroat and deep (might literally be so in a oral smex sense). Maybe you had met them in the past and grew something together only for them or you to get dissatisfied and bored out of it and leave this relationship or business dealing or many of you decided to open the relationship and let new options in and basically after a long while of thinking and wondering maybe you guys had let go of each other. But I think there's some future fated meeting awaiting you all. The next choice is yours babe

Dirty Little Secret - part 4 (leila ouahabi x reader)
Summary: A love story about secrets, flirty messages, football rivalries, and useless lesbians who donât know how to communicate. And it all starts with one badly timed challenge in the Champions League.
Leila Ouahabi x Arsenal!reader
Part 4/?
Read other parts here.
âââ
When you arrive in Barcelona, itâs like the events in Turin a few days ago never happened.
Leila greets you at the airport with a beaming smile and a kiss and even offers to wheel your little suitcase from the arrivals gate to her car.Â
On the drive back to Leilaâs apartment, you tell her about your flight and in return she talks about the last training session before tomorrowâs cup final. She seems confident that Barcelona will win and though you want to match that energy, youâre still a little scarred from the Champions League final last week, where you were confident she would be lifting the trophy there too. A domestic cup is different to the Champions League, you suppose, and youâd hope that youâve both learned lessons from last time, but still.
Leilaâs apartment is on the second floor of a cute little complex that looks out over a park. She insists on carrying your bag again, and youâre not going to complain as she leads you up the stairs at the side of the building until you reach her floor.Â
As she unlocks the door and you follow her inside, this feels way more intimate than all the times youâve slept with her. This is Leilaâs home, a glimpse into her life that you never imagined youâd see when you were just sneaking around with her at St Georgeâs Park during the Arnold Clark Cup.
But while youâre ready to learn more about Leila from spending three days in her home, youâre not prepared for exactly what youâre going to learn about her.Â
Specifically, from the boxes and open suitcases littered around her apartment.
âYouâre moving?âÂ
Leila sets your bag down by the door and nods silently.
âLike to a new apartment orâŠ?â
You almost donât want to ask. Leila and Barcelona are two things that seem like they should always go together. But the glossy tears that start to shine in Leilaâs eyes tell you the answer without the need to complete your question.
Suddenly her behaviour in Turin, how emotional she was and her mention of other factors coming into play, make perfect sense. Winning the Champions League for a second time would have been the perfect way to end her time at Barcelona, but that just makes the cup final tomorrow even more important.
âCome here,â you say, offering your arms out in an embrace.
Leila steps close and her body sinks into yours, arms wrapped tightly around each other.
âItâs my time to leave,â she sniffles into your shoulder. âIâm ready for a new challenge.â
âThat doesnât mean itâs an easy thing to do,â you remind her, one of your hands stroking a comforting path up and down her spine. You remember your own journey, leaving the comfort of Manchester at eighteen when you signed your first professional contract with Arsenal, moving down the country for something new, and how difficult it was to push yourself out of your comfort zone. âIn fact, I think itâs very brave of you to choose to do the right thing for your own career.â
âYeah?â
âYeah,â you nod.
You pull back, but only far enough to be able to look Leila directly in the eyes, which are shining with the threat of tears that she tries to fight off.
âIâm sorry if I was a bit of a dick in Turin,â you murmur. âI understand now why it was so hard for you when you didnât win.â
Leila sniffs and wipes at her eyes.
âWinning it again wouldâve been the perfect end to the story.â
âYouâre gonna win tomorrow though, right?â you tease her.
Leila smiles through her tears, and she might be the prettiest person youâve ever seen.
âââ
At first, youâre nervous about wearing Leilaâs shirt to the cup final. You havenât even told any of your friends that youâre in Barcelona, let alone that thereâs something going on between you and Leila, and you can only imagine the reaction in the Arsenal group chat if a photo finds its way onto Twitter of you in the crowd at this game so obviously there as Leilaâs guest.
As it turns out, thereâs nothing to worry about. You donât know if itâs the cap and sunglasses that successfully keep you under the radar, or if itâs simply that none of the Spanish crowd give enough of a shit about English womenâs football to recognise you in the first place, but your worries are for nothing. Besides, you start to realise that you might not care who finds out anyway when Leila runs onto the pitch for the pre-game warm up and immediately looks for you in the crowd, sending a little wave in your direction when she spots you that fills your chest with warmth.
You could get used to this.
âââ
After the game, with a winnerâs medal hanging around her neck, Leila practically skips over to you.
âFelicitats,â you tell her, your tongue stumbling over the unfamiliar word, but the grin that spreads across Leilaâs face is more than worth the five minutes you spent practising a single word while the pitch was being set up for the trophy presentation.
âDid you enjoy the game?â
âI did,â you nod. You reach for the medal around her neck, feeling the weight of the metal between your fingers as you say, âThis looks good on you.â
âThis looks good on you,â Leila says, raising her eyebrows and smirking at you as she thumbs at the material of the Barcelona shirt she gifted you to wear.
âYeah?â you ask her. âYou like it?â
Leila is a little too eager to nod, and you grin back at her.
âI like it too.â
The temptation to lean over the railing and kiss Leila, especially when sheâs looking at you in the way that she is, is almost too much. But if wearing Leilaâs shirt in public is already a risky move, kissing her is definitely too far.
Later, for sure. When youâre alone.
Leila also has later on her mind, but for a different reason.
âWeâre having a party tonight to celebrate? Do you want to come?â Leila asks.
âWith all your teammates?â
It never once crossed your mind that Leila might want you to meet her teammates. Everything has been so secretive so far, youâve barely had more than the briefest of interactions with each other in front of other people before, and you sort of assumed that apart from coming to watch her game today, youâd spend the rest of your visit to Barcelona just the two of you. But of course Leila will want to celebrate with her friends tonight, her last game with the club ending with a trophy.
âIf you donât want to we can just go backâŠâ
âNo,â youâre quick to interrupt, reaching for Leilaâs hand. âI want to. I just ⊠never mind. Thanks for inviting me. I canât wait to celebrate with you.â
âââ
You feel a bit awkward as you enter the Barcelona after party with Leila. Theyâve hired out a bar for the night and the place is already buzzing with players, staff and guests when you arrive. Youâve changed out of the shirt with Leilaâs name on the back, but Leila makes sure thereâs no doubt about who youâre here with by linking her fingers with yours as you step inside.
âOkay?â Leila asks you, perhaps sensing your nerves, and you nod in response.
Leila has dressed up too, changing out of her football kit and into a dark suit which hangs open over a lacy bodice. Her hair hangs down over her shoulders instead of being swept back in her usual ponytail and sheâs wearing smoky makeup that accentuates her dark eyes.
You can hardly keep your own eyes off her. The most beautiful girl in the room, and your hand is the one she wants to hold, proudly showing you off like she wants everyone to know youâre important to her. Like youâre more than just a fuck buddy.
Youâre overwhelmed by the party but thankfully Leila isnât, collecting a glass of champagne for each of you before she leads you by the hand to where a few of her teammates are gathered.
Leila introduces you - in English, you notice, which can only be to make you feel welcome - and you smile awkwardly as you greet her teammates, feeling their eyes burning into you like theyâre trying to assess your compatibility with Leila.
Mapi LeĂłn is the first to react, punching Leila in the arm, before she launches into high-speed Spanish. Leila clutches at her sore arm momentarily with a look of outrage on her face, then starts talking too.
From the tone of the conversation, they seem to be bickering. And from the occasional glances at you, you suspect you might know what theyâre bickering about.
Youâve never wished you knew Spanish more.
âDo you understand what theyâre saying?â you ask Ingrid, who seems to be trying to follow the conversation with a frown of concentration on her face.
âShe called Leila a liar, I think,â Ingrid translates for you. âSomething about leaving Barcelona for a girl - from context I guess thatâs you?â
âOh, Iâm not ⊠I mean, sheâs notâŠâ you stammer. Suddenly you have Mapi and Leilaâs eyes on you too as they fall silent, and your cheeks start to heat up as you try to explain, âSheâs not moving for me. I only found out yesterday that sheâs leaving Barcelona at all.â
âYes, Mapi,â Leila says, speaking in English now, for your benefit. âSee?â
They switch back to Spanish, leaving you in the dark once again. But even though you donât actually understand what theyâre saying, you can sense when the conversation moves on from talking about you almost straight away, and you relax.
But Ingridâs words stick in your mind. You donât know how good her Spanish is, whether what she translated was completely accurate, but she seemed to think that Mapi thought Leilaâs decision to leave Barcelona was related to you, which gets you thinking. You and Leila arenât serious enough for there to be a deliberate link, but if Mapi thinks the two things are connectedâŠ
You remember what Leila said after the match earlier, the look in her eyes as she admired the way you looked in her Barcelona jersey. And while itâs definitely going to be strange to see Leila in another teamâs colours, you think the feeling would probably be mutual if you ever saw Leila in red and white.
It plays on your mind, and you decide to ask her when she leads you away later to get another drink from the bar.
âYouâve decided which club youâre moving to?â you ask, leaning against the bar beside Leila as you wait for a bartender to be free.
Leilaâs eyebrows twitch upwards momentarily, probably surprised by your question, before she answers, âYes.â
âItâs notâŠâ you trail off, almost feeling stupid for asking, because youâre sure that you wouldâve heard something if it was the case, either from Leila herself or at least whispers from somewhere else. âItâs not Arsenal, is it?â
Leila smirks, then says, âNo.â
âRight, of course,â you say. âI didnât think so, but itâs just the way Mapi was talking about me and your move, made it sound like the two things were related.â
âNo. Mapi likes to - I donât know how to say it in English - she talks a lot of shit?â
You nod to show that Leilaâs used the right words.
âYouâll find out soon where Iâm moving,â she tells you.
âVery mysterious,â you tease her.
You spend a brief second wondering why sheâs being so secretive about which team sheâs moving to. You doubt youâre going to get much more out of Leila about her future team anyway, but youâre soon denied that chance anyway when the whole bar erupts into song. The ringleaders, Patri Guijarro and Claudia Pina, have clambered up onto a table and use half empty beer bottles as microphones as they lead the singing with a lot more enthusiasm than musicality.
You recognise the song, from both the game today and the time you spent amongst the Barcelona fans at last weekâs Champions League final, as one of the Barcelona chants. Though you donât know the words, the energy in the room is infectious, and as Leila slings an arm around your shoulder and joins in, you grin and hum along to the recognisable tune.
âââ
This is probably the longest youâve spent in Leilaâs company, certainly the longest youâve spent together without sleeping with her, and while you hope that there will be plenty of time for that during the remainder of your brief stay in Barcelona, itâs nice to get to know her through her body language and interactions with her teammates, finally getting the chance to see Leila at her most natural.
It doesnât take you long to realise that Leila is an affectionate person.
Sheâs constantly touching you, whether itâs your legs or shoulders nudging against each other, or her hand seeking out yours. You donât mind that you donât understand the Spanish conversations, because she makes you feel included with looks and little touches.
Leila is also a funny person. Youâve always found her to be charismatic, but most of your interactions have been laced with flirtatious jokes anyway. When you see her with her friends, you realise that Leila likes to make other people laugh, even if that comes at the cost of having to be a little bit goofy. Itâs endearing, and your cheeks quickly start to ache with how much youâve been grinning.
But you also start to wonder if things would be the same if the situation was reversed and youâd invited Leila to England. Would you have introduced Leila to your teammates? What would she have learned about you from seeing you with your closest friends? And most importantly of all, would still she like what she sees?
âDo you want to leave?â Leila leans across and murmurs to you, while the conversation in Spanish continues around you, pulling you out of your thoughts.
âDonât you want to celebrate with your teammates?â you ask, conscious of the fact that today was her last game in a Barcelona shirt, tonight her last official night with these girls as her teammates.
âI want to celebrate with you,â Leila tells you, her mouth curling up into a smirk as her fingers squeeze your thigh.
Itâs very hard to be thoughtful towards Leilaâs limited time with the other Barcelona girls when her dark eyes are making mischievous promises.
âWhat did you have in mind?â you ask, your voice breathless.
âCome home and Iâll show you.â
âââ
In hindsight, three days in Barcelona was never going to be enough.
Predictably, you spend most of the second day, the day after Barcelona wins the Copa de la Reina, in Leilaâs bed. Itâs only later in the day that you finally get up and put some clothes on, because Leila promises that she knows the best seafood restaurant in Europe. Sheâs not wrong, and after a short drive down the coast, you enjoy a delicious meal looking out over the sea as the sun sets.
If this was a date, it would be a very romantic setting. But you and Leila are still straddling the line between football rivals who hook up and something more.
The third and final day you spend being tourists around Barcelona. It surprises you when Leila tells you sheâs never really visited many of the big tourist sites herself, despite living in Barcelona for so long, but it means you get to explore them together. But she also shows you some of the places that she loves - a cute little coffee shop, Camp Nou stadium, her favourite sushi restaurant. You get to know the city through her and her through the city.
Three days isnât long enough, not to fully explore this beautiful city, nor to properly get to know the girl who is showing you around, but youâll take it.Â
Three days with Leila are better than none.Â
âââ
âManchester City,â Leila tells you in bed that night, speaking into the darkness as you play with her hair, her head resting on your chest, savouring every moment you can get together before you have to fly back to England in the morning.
âHuh?â
âIâm about to sign for Manchester City,â Leila explains.
Your hand stills in Leilaâs hair, processing her words in slight disbelief.Â
âYouâre shitting me.â
âWhat?â
Trying not to disturb Leila on your chest, you reach across to where your phone lies face down on the nightstand, unlocking it and scrolling through the gallery of photos until you come across one in particular. Itâs old and a little blurry, but just clear enough to make out that itâs a picture of a little girl, aged about ten, with a full fringe and her long hair tied into pigtails, dressed in a full Manchester City kit.
âIs that you?â Leila asks, lifting her head to examine the photo as you angle the screen of your phone to show her.
âBeen a City fan my whole life,â you tell her. âI came up through the academy too. It doesnât mean Iâm going to let you win though. Iâm an Arsenal girl now.â
âI donât want you to let me win,â Leila says, propping herself upright and swinging a leg across your hips. You let your hands slide up Leilaâs thighs and toy with the hem of the oversized t-shirt sheâs wearing to bed as she adds, âI want a challenge.â
You anchor your hands on Leilaâs hips and flip her over onto the mattress, settling between her legs as your mouth finds the column of her neck and presses a line of open-mouthed kisses from the apex of her shoulder up to the sensitive spot below her ear.
âYou sure about that?â you murmur.
As Leilaâs hand finds the top of your head and tries to guide you down her body, it doesnât feel like much of a challenge at all.
âââ
Youâre in the England pre-selection camp the following week, still mournful of the fact that you only got three days in Barcelona with Leila, when the news is officially announced.Â
âChloe, have you seen weâve got another new signing?â Lauren asks, as she wanders across the gym to where you and Chloe are doing some conditioning before training.
âAt City?â Chloe asks. âWho is it?â
Youâre only giving them half of your attention as they talk about their latest club news, more focused on adjusting the weights at each end of the barbell, until you hear who it is theyâre talking about.
âSpanish player,â Lauren says to Chloe. âLeila something - I donât know how to pronounce her last name.â
âLeila Ouahabi?â you supply for Lauren, the weights now forgotten.Â
âThatâs the one,â Lauren confirms with a nod. âLook.â
Lauren offers out her phone, where the latest post on Manchester Cityâs Instagram page is displayed announcing the arrival of Leila as a new signing, complete with a picture of Leila in the sky blue kit of her new club.
âDo you know her?â Chloe asks.
âWeâve played against each other a few times,â you answer vaguely, reaching for your own phone to look up the announcement yourself.
You donât tell them about the nature of your relationship during the Arnold Clark Cup, or that you spent three nights in her bed only last week, or that you get butterflies in your chest every time you think about her.
âIs she good?â
Distracted by the picture of Leila in a Manchester City shirt, which looks weird, though in a good way, after sheâs spent so many years at Barcelona, you respond absently, âGood at what?â
Lauren sniggers.
âGood at football?â
âOh, right. Of course, why would I know if sheâs good at anything else?â You laugh awkwardly, before you finally answer, âYeah, sheâs pretty good.â
You tune out the rest of their conversation, starting your set of reps with the weights as your mind thinks of the image of Leila in sky blue.
âââ
Later, when youâre taking some down time in your room between training and dinner, you look through the various pictures of Leila that have been posted today, both by the Manchester City account and by Leila herself. Itâs going to take some time to get used to not just the sight of Leila in a City kit, but also the idea that sheâs going to be living in the same country and playing in the same league as you.
You stare at the pictures for way too long. You struggled to cope when Leila sent you a picture of herself wearing your England shirt but this, seeing her in the jersey of the team youâve supported since your parents dressed you in a Manchester City onesie when you were just five days old, is provoking another reaction from you entirely.
If only you werenât so loyal to Arsenal these daysâŠ
Still, you message Leila to let her know what you think of her move.
You You look good in blue đ And if you need someone to show you around ManchesterâŠ
Thereâs a knock on your door and you get up from your bed to answer it, finding Leah standing outside in the hall.
âReady to go down for dinner?â she asks.
âJust a sec,â you reply, slipping your feet into a pair of trainers. You reach for your phone which lies face up on the bed and the screen lights up with a new message from Leila as you pick it up.
Leila Itâs a date đ
You fight off a smile as you slide your phone into the pocket of your shorts and practically skip over to where Leah waits in the doorway.
âYouâre in a good mood,â Leah observes, as you start to make your way down to dinner.
Youâre half caught in a daydream, imagining a time where you get to walk around Manchester hand in hand with Leila, showing her all your favourite places in her new home city, but you push that to the back of your mind for later to save having to explain yourself to Leah.
âJust nice to be back with the team, isnât it?â you try to explain away your cheerfulness.
Leah rolls her eyes and says, âWeirdo.â

Here is the next text from my English lessons about Ghost, Soap and König.
Suddenly, a baby appears on the doorstep of Königâs house. The note states that sheâs his daughter, and now he has to take care of her. König doesn't know anything about children, so he calls Ghost and Soap for help. 1138 words.
Ghost and Königâs relationship has a bro vibe in my headcanons. Theyâre brothers in arms, in love with guns, and in other sick shit.

The phone woke up Ghost half an hour before the wake-up call. He yawned, pulled out of Soapâs embrace tight even in a sleep, and picked up his cell phone. Königâs photo flashed on the screen. So Simon sighed and answered the call.
âHey, whatâs up, bro?â He asked, looking at sleepy Johnny and stroking his disheveled mohawk.
âI have a problem,â the Austrian answered nervously. âA very big problem.â
König told that he was awakened by the doorbell. He was on leave now and spent his time in a small house on the outskirts of Manchester that he rented. König chose this city to meet Ghost and Soap, who were also on leave now. So, he got up from the bed, opened the door, and saw a baby carrier basket with a little child inside. There was also a note from which the Austrian learned that this baby was his. König immediately remembered a woman he had dated several times last year. One day she disappeared without warning, so the Austrian didnât look for her. And now she found him herself and wanted him to take care of the child he had made, but about which he didnât know until this moment. The note also said that the babyâs name was Margaret, had a short list of her allergies, and told König when her mother would be back to pick her up.
âSo, you have a very small problem, not a big one," Ghost said cheerfully when König ended his story.
âItâs not funny!â The Austrian exclaimed tragically. âI have no idea what to do with it! With her!â
âCalm down, bro,â the lieutenant said, looking at Johnny, who had woken up and listened carefully to the conversation because Simon had turned on the speakerphone. âHold on, weâre on our way.â
âOh, Danke! Danke schön!â König shouted and hung up.
âWell,â Soap said, stretching sweetly and getting out from under the covers, âletâs go ânâ help yer brother, luv.â
Johnny had experience taking care of babies because he had two younger sisters, so he ordered Simon to drive to the store before going to König. He and Ghost bought baby formula, a bottle, diapers, and some toys. It didnât take long, but when they finally got to König, he was in despair.
âShe screams and cries non-stop!â The Austrian said, holding the baby. âIch verstehe nicht whatâs she wants!â
âHow dae ye hold her?!â Soap was outraged, stretching out his hands. âGimme th' baby, now!â
König fulfilled this order immediately, and then, together with Ghost, he looked at little Margaret, who stopped crying in Johnnyâs gentle arms.
âSheâs wet,â Soap said strictly, âand hungry. Si, go tae thâ kitchen and prepare baby formula ânâ a bottle. And ye, König, go wiâ me. Iâll show ye how tae change diapers.â
The Austrian looked at Ghost and saw that he nodded. So he sighed heavily and followed Johnny reluctantly. He absolutely didnât want to mess around with diapers, but he knew he had to learn. So he promised himself to do whatever Sergeant MacTavish said.
Margaret calmed down as soon as she was washed and changed. Soap showed König how to hold a baby correctly, and she didnât cry in her fatherâs arms anymore. The little girl clung to the Austrianâs finger with her tiny hands and carefully looked around with her blue eyes.
âWell, now you can give her a bottle,â Johnny said when they came to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, he and Simon watched as König carefully held his little daughter and the bottle of baby formula. Lieutenant Riley hugged the sergeant, who rested his head on Ghostâs shoulder and smiled, looking at the huge Austrian. The child was only slightly larger than his palm, which he held her in.
âWhat do ye think, Lt.,â Johnny said quietly, âwill we ever hae thâ same little one?â
âWhy not?â Simon looked at him, and the sergeant saw that his eyes squinted through the opening of his skull balaclava, as always happened when he smiled.
âHey, guys,â König whispered, giving Soap no chance to reply, âeine kleine Blume seems to have fallen asleep.â
The three of them put Margaret to sleep in her carrier basket, and Johnny sat down and started to write a list of everything the Austrian had to buy for his baby. Then he, as the most knowledgeable person in childcare, sent Ghost and König to the store and stayed in the house with the little sleepy girl.
"So, whenâll her mother come back?â The lieutenant asked when they got into the car and smoked before leaving.
âIn two weeks,â König answered, looking at him. âHow do you think, bro, is it normal that I want to⊠I donât know; maybe spend more time with Margaret in the future? It seems that I love her, but itâs illogical, âcause I see her for the first time in my life.â
âDonât be silly." Ghost started the car and drove out onto the road. âSheâs your daughter; of course you love her. I think you should get joint custody of her.â
âIâll try!â The Austrian nodded, but then his eyes were filled with sadness. âBut Iâm the sick bastard; whoâll entrust me with the baby?â
âYou are,â confirmed the lieutenant, âbut all TF 141 will vouch for you. And your commander has to write a good recommendation for you. And maybe Hong Jin? Where is he?â
âOn a mission,â König sighed. âHeâll come back in four or five days. I havenât told him about Margaret yet.â
The Austrian started a relationship with Horangi three months ago, and the Korean didnât know much about his previous life. Despite this, Ghost thought that everything will be all right about what he said to his friend.
When they returned from the store, the baby was still asleep, and König offered his assistants to drink a glass of peach schnapps. They settled in the living room and sat for a while, drinking and talking about their service, missions, and novelties in the arms industry.
âWell, call us if youâll need help,â Johnny said when he and Simon said goodbye to König. He nodded, shook their hands, and they went to the car. The Austrian looked at his friends and closed the door to his house. He was still worried, but now he was confident that heâll cope with the challenge that fate threw at him.

Ok sod told me you like a frinds to lovers
Imagine you and Mason are friends, not besties maybe, like you only meet when he moved to Manchester but clicked immediately
Let's say you see on ig that there's a place where you could co to take a cooking lesson to learn how to make homemade pasta and you really want to go
Mason knows this so the day of your birthday he surprises you woth it and you spend the best day of your life with him, you eat dinner together amd when he drives you back home you share a cute kiss and he promises you to take you out on a proper date
yes yes yes!!!!!! i love this!!!!!!!
maybe you both moved to Manchester around the same time and happen to be neighbors!! you havenât made many friends so when you get the chance to get to know the cue boy next door a bit better, you jump on it and the two of you become fast friends
one night you have him over and you cook the two of you dinner, and youâre making spaghetti with meatballs and everything is from scratch except for the pasta. so youâre telling him about how youâve always wanted to learn to cook homemade pasta, but youâd just never gotten around to it. AND Mason happens to notice that you have your birthday written on your calendar, two weeks later, but you havenât mentioned it to him at all
so he immediately gets to work, putting together a surprise for you. as much as heâs gotten to know you over the last few months, he doesnât think youâre the type for a big party. so, remembering what you said about learning to cook pasta, he finds a class nearby, and signs you both up after he double checks that youâre free that day
you still think he doesnât know about it being your birthday, thinking it must just be a coincidence, but youâre giddy over the prospect of spending time with him
so the two of you go and have sooooo much fun together and fulfill your lifelong dream of learning to make pasta!!! he definitely swipes a line of flour onto the bridge of your nose, and when he sees the glint in your eye, he knows youâre resisting the urge to retaliate, knowing it would turn into an all-out flour war that you couldnât afford, given that you were in a public place
but both of you can feel this tension brewing between you throughout the classâ itâs been brewing for some time now, but taking this class together is bringing it all quickly to the surface. when you have to jump in to help, showing him how to knead the pasta dough, Mason has to suppress the shiver that runs up his spine at the felling of your gentle hands on his arms.
after the class is over, he drives you home, inviting you over to his house for a glass of wine because heâs not ready for the night to end. when you walk into his kitchen you find a medium-sized box, wrapped carefully in blue paper with a little bow on top and you whirl around to look at him. Masonâs eyes are sparkling as he gestures for you to open it, waving you off as you ask how he even knew it was your birthday
when you open it, itâs a pasta roller, just like the one you had used in the class and you throw your arms around his neck, thanking him over and over for the clas, the giftâfor the whole day. when you pull back, he keeps his hands on your hips, a wide grin on his face as he hold you close
and when he asks if he can kiss you, of course you oblige happily đ„°

How Can You Prepare For Booking Driving Lessons?
If you are getting ready to take driving lessons then there might be certain questions that are ringing in your ear. Which driving school is good? What kind of a learner are you? What kind of lesson would be suitable for you? Well in that case we have got you covered.Â
If you are looking for a professional driving school then the driving school in Manchester can take care of any of your requirements. So in case you are looking to book a driving lesson there are certain things like professionalism, and safety protocols that you need to check. In this blog, we are going to list down all the things that you should check before booking a lesson. So letâs begin.Â
Things To Check Before Appointing Any Driving School
If you are a first-time driver then choosing the appropriate driving school can be a herculean task. As you do not have any idea what kind of driving lesson can be suitable for you. So if you are looking for options of driving lessons in Manchester here are some of the key points that you should check first.Â
Maintain One Driving InstructorÂ
If you are starting to take driving lessons then it is always better that you stay with the same instructor. As they can gradually understand your learning style and can manage any of your issues. With more time spent with your instructor, they can know the pace through which you can complete your lesson. In comparison to this too much changing of instructors can ruin your learning pace.Â
Usage Of The Same Vehicle
If you are a first-time driver then consistency can be the key point for you. This is why the school for driving lessons in Manchester keep the same car for beginners. Driving a different model each time can feel disorienting as that is not good for beginners.Â
Flexible Lessons
It does not matter if you have driven a truck or never driven a vehicle in the past. In this case, the driving school should be flexible enough to meet your needs and requirements. So in case you are terrified or a little less confident you will need a proper instructor who can handle different kinds of situations.
Apart from these, you should also check if your driving school can give you practice tests or not. You also need to check the safety protocols for a smooth lesson.Â
Final Thoughts
Taking a driving lesson for the first time can cause a lot of panic in your mind. So it is always better to check about certain things before booking a driving school for a safe learning session.

Fighter/Artist AU : GhostxSoap

AO3
Soap quickly made his way from his last lecture to his motorcycle sitting in the parking lot. Knocking over anyone who stood in his way, earning him a few choice words as he practically sprinted down the halls. He had three midterms that week and was fucking exhausted. One would think that being an art major would be less stressful, but that was wishful thinking.Â
He slid his helmet over his slightly grown-out mohawk, lifting the kickstand and setting off on that familiar drive to the other side of town he took every week. Soap had a particular affinity for sketching real-world objects and people. He believed that capturing the human form, with all its complexities and intricacies, was one of the most challenging and rewarding aspects of his craft. To hone his skills, he sought out places where he could observe people in their most natural states and one of his favorite places for this purpose was Price's MMA boxing gym.
Price's MMA gym held a special place in Soap's heart. It wasn't just a place for fighters to train and beat the shit out of each other. Soap had practically grown up within the confines of that gym, having spent his high school days cleaning it after hours in exchange for some pocket change. It was during that time that he earned the nickname "Soap" because of the way he scrubbed the floors and equipment spotless.
One of the main reasons Soap loved the gym was the owner, an old family friend, retired military captain John Price. Price had been a mentor to him, teaching him valuable life lessons and discipline. Soap considered him a father figure, especially after his own father had passed away when he was just a child.
Soapâs best friend, Gaz, was among the gymâs most dedicated fighters. Gaz had dreams of making it big in the world of UFC, and he trained tirelessly, leaving no room for distractions. Despite their different paths in life, Soap and Gaz remained close friends even as his career started to take off. Soap often joined in on his training sessions and sketched Gaz as he practiced his punches and kicks, capturing the intensity of the man's movements.Â
Every week, Soap would visit the gym, finding a comfortable spot in the corner, sketchbook in hand, and losing himself in the world around him. He sketched the fighters as they sparred and practiced. Each line and shadow made with his pencils captured their movements and forms on paper forever. The clanging of weights and the thudding of punches in the background became a form of comfort for Soap over the years. Easy to get lost in the symphony of noise.Â
This particular day, he noticed something was off as soon as he stepped foot in the gym. It was uncharacteristically quiet. Everyone standing around was talking in hushed voices and whispers. As Soap sat down in his usual corner, he instantly noticed the subject of everyone's attention. A newcomer, and a striking one at that. Blond hair, tall, and with a physique that could only be described as imposing. Soap recognized him from one of the hundreds of fights he was forced to watch every week with Gaz. His name was Simon âThe Ghostâ Riley and he was quickly becoming a rising star in his weight division. Sports networks raved about him and were labeling him the next big thing in the world of mixed martial arts. He was talking with Price in the corner of the ring, Gaz also joining them off to the side. If he remembered correctly, the man was from Manchester. Price had mentioned wanting to bring in more talent, guess it finally happened.Â
For three whole weeks, Soap couldn't tear his eyes away from Simon Riley. There was something captivating about him, something that drew Soap in like a moth to a flame. Simon's powerful physique and the way he moved in the ring were a sight to behold. He quickly became Soap's favorite subject to draw, and he couldn't help but blush every time he caught himself focusing too hard on the details of Simon's impressive figure. Gaz certainly never let him forget it after casually flipping through his drawings one day and noticing a recurring theme. He had offered to introduce Soap to the man but he swiftly denied the invitation, painfully aware that the fighter was well out of his league.Â
It was during the fourth week of his new infatuation that shit hit the fan quickly. Soap had been lost in his sketches like normal when he felt a sudden tug on his sketchbook. It happened so suddenly he was powerless to stop it. Startled, he looked up to find the one and only Simon Riley holding his sketchbook with an unreadable expression on his face. Flipping through the multiple pages filled with sketches of himself.Â
"Seems like I have a stalker," Simon teased, his lips quirking up into a playful smile.
Soap's cheeks flushed crimson as he stammered, "I-I'm not a stalker. I just... Iâm an art student, I come here to practice, I swearâ
Simon chuckled, his brown eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, you're quite talented,â he admitted, still studying the sketches. âThese sketches are impressive.â
Soap was still furiously blushing as the man handed him back his sketchbook. Soap couldnât believe he was having a conversation with Riley, he was even more intimidating up close.Â
âThank you, and Iâm sorryâ he managed to say, his voice a tad shaky.Â
Simonâs teasing grin softened into a warm smile. âNo need to apologize. Iâm flattered, actually. Not every day I meet an artist who appreciates myâŠassets.â He winked, making the man's blush deepened even more. How cute. He mercifully decided to let Soap off the hook and started to back away.Â
âThe name's Simon, Simon Riley, by the way.â
âI know who you are,â the man stated, causing that lopsided grin to reappear on his face.Â
âAnd does the artist have a name?â
âYou can call me Soap.â
âSoap? What the hell kind of name is that?â Simon chuckled.
âItâs a nickname, you havenât earned the real one quite just yet.â
âIâll hold you to that, Soap,â the Brit said as he turned to head back to the training mats.Â
From that day forward, whenever Soap visited the gym, he couldn't help but steal glances at the fighter whenever he could. And it seemed that Simon was just as intrigued by Soap. He began to pay more attention to the artist in the corner, watching him sketch with a keen interest. He would often strike up a conversation with Soap between training sessions, asking about his art and life outside the gym. Soap found himself drawn not only to Simon's physical presence but also to his genuine interest in getting to know him. One day, after finishing his training session, Simon decided to take their interactions a step further.
He leaned up against the ropes of the ring, that stupid smile plastered on his face. âHey, Soap,â he called out, beckoning him towards the mats with a toss of his head.Â
Soap blinked in surprise. âMe? In the ring?â He asked, his voice wavering slightly with a mix of excitement and nervousness.Â
Simon just grinned and nodded his head back at him. âYeah, why not? Just some light sparring. It will be fun.â
Soap hesitated, but the prospect of getting into the ring with his crush was too enticing to resist. To be that up close and personal with the man. He slowly shook his head and made his way to the ring. Rolling under the ropes and hopping up to face Simon who had that beaming smile aimed at him. It took everything in him not to melt right through the mat.Â
âIf I pin you, you tell me your real name. Deal?â
âYeah cause thatâs bloody fair coming from the professional fighter,â Soap scoffed back.
âAh, donât sell yourself short Soap, you seem like you know your way around the ringâ Simon embellished with a wink. Cheeky bastard.
Soap watched countless sparring sessions, but had never imagined himself as one of the participants. To his surprise, he held his own quite well, showcasing a natural talent for the sport. Maybe spending years in the gym watching fighters had taught him more than he realized. Simon seemed impressed by his movements and techniques. His usual playful demeanor was giving way to genuine respect, even though he was going easy on the artist. They exchanged blows, both men sweating and grinning as they moved around the ring.Â
As they sparred, Soap couldnât help but stare at the man's body before him. The taught muscles shifting under his tight black athletic wear. Yeah, this was a bad idea. He glanced up at Simon's face, noticing the mischievous glint in Simonâs eye. Fuck. He definitely had been caught ogling the man's body.Â
Suddenly, without warning, Simon hooked his left leg around Soap's ankle, sending him sprawling to the mat. Before he could even register what happened, Simon was on top of him and pushing down all his weight. He was trapped.Â
Soap struggled beneath Simonâs crushing bulk, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. âYou⊠you did that on purpose. I was distracted,â he accused, though he couldnât hide the hint of a smile on his face.Â
Simon laughed above him, his eyes locking onto Soapâs with an intensity that sent shivers down his spine. âMaybe I did,â he admitted, leaning in closer until their faces were mere inches apart. âBut I have to say, I like seeing you blush.â
Soapâs heart raced as he realized the proximity between them. Simon leaned in, his lips hovering just above Soapâs, leaving no room to wonder about his intentions. When Soap didnât pull away, Simon closed the gap, capturing Soap's mouth in his. The kiss was electrifying, sending a rush of desire through Soap's body. It was a moment Soap had only ever dreamed of, and he responded eagerly, their lips moving in sync as the world around them faded away.Â
When they finally broke apart, Soap's face was flushed, and his breath was unsteady. Simon grinned down at him, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. âIâve wanted to do that for a long time,â he admitted.
Soapâs voice quivered as he replied, âMe too.â
âI expect a real name to call you now since I won,â he cheekily stated.
âYou bloody cheated ya wanker!â Soap shouted at the man.Â
âDonât be a sore loser now mate,â Simon punctuated with a kiss to the manâs nose.
Soap huffed as he finally accepted defeat, the man was impossible. âJohn. John MacTavishâ
Simon beamed at the man beneath him, hands holding Soapâs face like a prized possession as he leaned back in for another kiss.Â
âNice to meet you, Johnnyâ
Epilogue
As weeks went by, Soap and Simonâs connection deepened. They spent more time together outside the gym, going for coffee and sharing meals. Soap found himself falling hard for the enigmatic fighter, and it seemed that Simonâs interest in him was just as strong.Â
One evening, after a particularly intense sparring session that had ended with a playful wrestling match on the gym floor, Soap finally mustered the courage to ask Simon a burning question. âWhy do they call you âThe Ghostâ?â
Simonâs expression grew somber, and he sighed. âItâs a nickname I got during my early fighting days. They said I moved like a ghost in the ring, that I was elusive and hard to predict or some shit like that.â
Soap nodded, but he could sense there was more to the story. âIs there a reason you chose to become a fighter?â
Simon hesitated for a moment before speaking. âI had a tough upbringing, Johnny. Fighting was a way for me to escape the fucking shit in my everyday life. What started as a necessity for survival turned into my salvation. It gave me purpose and a sense of control over my life. God, that sounds pathetic doesnât it,â he scoffed.Â
Soap could see the pain in Simonâs eyes. He reached out to place a hand on his arm and scooted towards the man where they were still sitting on the mats. âItâs not pathetic Si, Iâm glad you found something that brought you solace,â he said softly. Eyes never leaving the others, making sure he knew he meant every word.Â
Simon smiled, his gaze softening. For once in his life, he truly believed Johnny had meant what he said. He was so used to people lying and using him, causing him to always stay distant and closed off. Something about the little artist in the corner had knocked all those barriers down the first time he laid eyes on him. âAnd Iâm glad I found you,â he admitted, leaning in to capture Soapâs lips in a passionate kiss. The man had sketched his way into his heart forever.Â
