This is the most beautiful manga l've seen
Oh, no! Girls, watch out!
what
(longest bracket so far, in the middle) WHAT
(even longer breacket at the end) Education is presented as a meritocracy where anyone who makes an effort can raise to the top, when in reality education itself is a privilege determined by birth, and those who aren't born with access to it can't even dream to achieve what those who do have

Introduction
Educational interpreter services are instrumental in bridging communication gaps between students who are Deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff. These services ensure that all students have equal opportunities to participate in classroom activities, engage with instructional materials, and fully benefit from their educational experiences.

What Are Educational Interpreter Services?
Educational interpreter services involve the provision of skilled professionals who facilitate communication between individuals who use sign language and those who do not. These services are utilized in various educational settings, including primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
Benefits of Educational Interpreter Services
Improved Communication
One of the primary benefits of educational interpreter services is the facilitation of clear and accurate communication. By having a trained interpreter present, students who are Deaf or hard of hearing can fully understand classroom discussions, lectures, and instructions.
Enhanced Learning Experience
Educational interpreters contribute to a more inclusive learning environment by ensuring that students who are Deaf or hard of hearing have access to the same information as their hearing peers. This inclusivity promotes diversity and enriches the educational experience for all students.
Access to Education for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students
Educational interpreter services are essential for ensuring that students who are Deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to education. By providing interpretation services, educational institutions can accommodate the diverse needs of all students and foster an environment of equity and inclusion.
Facilitation of Inclusive Environments
Educational interpreter services promote inclusivity by breaking down barriers to communication and fostering a sense of belonging for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. This inclusivity extends beyond the classroom and contributes to the overall culture of the educational institution.
How Educational Interpreter Services Work
Educational interpreters undergo specialized training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively facilitate communication in educational settings. They are proficient in sign language and have a deep understanding of the subject matter being interpreted.
Challenges and Solutions
While educational interpreter services offer numerous benefits, they also present challenges, such as addressing language barriers and ensuring cultural competency. However, these challenges can be overcome through ongoing training and professional development for interpreters.
Impact on Student Success
Research has shown that access to educational interpreter services positively impacts student success, both academically and socially. Students who receive appropriate support through interpretation services are more likely to achieve their academic goals and develop strong social and emotional skills.
Legal and Ethical Considerations
Educational interpreter services are governed by laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which mandates that students with disabilities, including those who are Deaf or hard of hearing, receive appropriate accommodations to ensure equal access to education.
Cost-Effectiveness of Educational Interpreter Services
While there are costs associated with providing educational interpreter services, the long-term benefits far outweigh the initial investment. By investing in these services, educational institutions can promote student success, foster inclusivity, and comply with legal requirements.
Future Trends
As technology continues to advance, the field of educational interpreting is evolving to incorporate new tools and techniques. Additionally, there is growing recognition of the importance of these services, leading to increased demand and support for educational interpreters.
Conclusion
Educational interpreter services play a vital role in ensuring that students who are Deaf or hard of hearing have equal access to education. By facilitating clear communication and fostering inclusive environments, these services contribute to student success and promote diversity within educational institutions.

Dear disabled people in school, please know your rights! If you have an IEP or a 504 plan with your school, your accommodations are not suggestions; a teacher cannot refuse them. If a teacher, coach, or other school staff chooses to ignore or disregard your accommodations, you can and should report them to the school.
The school, under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, will not/cannot tell the teacher that it was you who reported them, nor can the teacher question you or your class about being reported.
Remember it's against the law for the school or anyone representing/working for them to deny you your accommodations, no matter your age or grade, no matter the disability, and no matter how the school is funded.
#This is a reminder that extended time which lets you take longer on tests or turn in work late is an accommodation your school has to have#and no your accommodations don't suddenly stop applying for group projects#If you need an interpreter they have to find you a licensed one and they can't have them only there some of the time and not all of it#All doors must be wide enough for wheelchairs and all exterior doors must have a push button that is accessible and working#collage#high school#disabilties#education#learning#disability#accommodation#hard of hearing#autism#adhd#dyslexia#dyscalculia#dysgraphia#dysphasia#dyspraxia#auditory processing disorder#nonverbal learning disorder#nonverbal#mobility aid#learning disability#mental disability

Also before I shut up about this, I know they don’t get as much recognition, but I HIGHLY recommend watching the ASL interpretation of Kendrick’s performance. Matt Maxey ATE SO HARD.
If the link works properly it should go to just before not like us starts, bc I LOVE the energy here especially, but the entire thing is so fun
youtube
(I can’t seem to find the other interpreter’s name anywhere? If someone know it pls lmk and I can add it to the og post)
Edit: tysm to @river-lethe-tears for telling me the other interpreters name is O4, or Otis Jones IV, and that he’s who interpreted Lift Every Voice And Sing for Ledisi!!
#I could go on even with my limited education about how each interpreter brings their own version of the song to the table#and the sign choices are so important#but I won’t lol#kendrick lamar#super bowl#Matt maxey#Youtube

Two blokes slacking off at work :p
Cretan diplomats based on a painting of the tomb of Rekhmire, Luxor. I was intruigued by the leopard skirt thingy one of them is wearing and drew a more or less realistic interpretation of it! The other guy's there so he can have a buddy.
While i usually draw people looking as average as possible, it's not the case here. It's fair to assume that within the "PR" context of the painting (representing their people in front of a foreign king) these would be the ancient aegean's hottest boytoys, so I kept them snatched and smooth shaved.
Originals under the cut!
Mural with my chosen duo highlighted

Cropped closeup, leopard skirt guy on the left (and the two arms of jugs guy!)

#.csp#2024#minoan#egyptian#historical#bronze age#i genuinely wonder if ppl shaved/waxed back then. i dont remember seeing any depictions of minoan men with facial hair#of course genetics change with populations across the ages etc but modern ppl from the same zones tend to be rly hairy so whats up with tha#additional design notes: gave them slight variations in build and skin color just because. its not on the originals#ancient egyptians DID paint diff morphologies but its all extremely stylized so assuming the ppl on that mural were modeled off real ppl#theyd not have been fat. but the exact details r muddy and open to interpretation#speaking of interpretation im just a nerd i have no formal education in all this dont get my ass for innaccuracy

I just recently started following you so i don't have the full lore of your murderous gay religiously traumatized doggos, BUT, from my understanding, they are Italian and i don't know what part of Italy they are from, yet i can't help headcanoning Vasco as Tuscan, while Machete is probably from some part of Veneto. And as an Italian who has heard Tuscans and Veneto dialet, well it's an hilarious mental image.
Vasco is indeed Tuscan, Florentine to be specific. He comes from a wealthy and influential noble family that has lived in Florence for centuries. He's proud of his roots, and it's usually easy for strangers to tell where he's from. He's a resonably successful politician and has worked as an ambassador and representative of Florence on numerous occasions.
Machete is originally Sicilian (ironically about as far from Veneto as possible), although he was taken to mainland at young age and has lived in several places since then, before ending up in Rome. The way I see it, he exhibits very little local color, his demeanor and (even though Italian hadn't become a standardized language yet) way of speaking are formal, neutral and scarcely give away any hints about his personal history, at least in the 16th century canon.
#I tend to take the easy way out with the various Italian dialects/languages and temper their effect on how the dog world works#even though to my understanding in reality they differ drastically from each other even today and they aren't always mutually intelligible#especially when you compare northern and southern ones#I know at least Sicilian is so different from modern day Italian it's considered a separate language entirely#it isn't the only one but I'm not a linguist and not even Italian so I'm not really qualified to be explaining any of this to you#main point is that my dogs are well traveled educated and adaptable so I'd like to believe that they manage#otherwise making this whole scenario work would become very complicated#language barriers aplenty#Machete is a fast learner with a natural knack for languages so he absorbs/decodes new ones easily#and I can see him acting as an interpreter if necessary#which is a valuable trait for someone working as the secretary of state I'd imagine#a lot of people he ends up dealing with speak at least passable Latin so at a pinch they might perhaps try switching to that?#Vasco might have a Tuscan flavor but Machete is more of a blank slate (at least in public and at work)#answered#fallenoftheromaempire#feel free to correct me if I've gotten something wrong I'm not an expert and this stuff is complicated for an outsider

Had a dream last night that I was in a meeting at SteelWool studios about the next fnaf game that involves the Glamrocks and Sun and Moon were there but like,, in separate bodies?? I think??
Anywya there was this whole debate about who should be doing what in the game, until halfway through when Sun stood up with a presentation about why he’s the best and deserves more screen time, and he was translating everything into sign language as he spoke, but then the lights turned off and Moon interrupted and was like “Guys Sun sucks. More of me pretty pls” (again, all with asl subtitles) but then there was like an actual fight between Sun and Moon where they were just signing aggressively at each other, but no one else knew sign language so nobody knew what they were saying.
Then Freddy was like “Well this is awkward” and I woke up.
#mind you I don’t know asl#I’m trying to learn isl but the most I know about asl is from what I’ve seen of deaf people or interpreters on YouTube/tiktok#so my brain was unconsciously picking up signs and using them for my dream#I do remember seeing my friend’s personal isl for “gargle my balls” (isl isn’t as developed due to church influence on deaf education#so personal signs are common)#fnaf#fnaf daycare attendant#fnaf dca#fnaf sun#fnaf moon#fnaf glamrock freddy#glamrock freddy#steel wool studios#my goober#anywya I think this might be the first time I’ve ever properly dreamt of sun and moon which is crazy#I love these guys#how is this the first time?

my mother (cis) was telling me (trans) today that all her friends (cis) are accepting of me being trans (nonbinary), but one friend who is a gay man (also cis, just to be really clear on the matter) said he has trans friends who would say i'm not trans for not specifically Changing One Gender To Another (whichever that may be),
and i'm sitting there having briefly forgotten the word for transmedicalism, fully remembering truscum but not wanting to use that word because it's unkind and requires extra explanation whereas transmed feels easier for outsiders to swallow, nodding and saying "yeah mum not everyone is in agreement about these things."
#she also said 'we' (the monolith obviously) should come up with A New Pronoun because singular they/them is still weird to her#and i told her hey mum actually there are very many New Pronouns that nonbinary people use it just so happens mine personally are they/them#all queerness is one culture to her#there's nothing i can do to change this because she's too busy apologising for not being educated and saying the wrong thing#mum if you stop going on about it for a second i can actually help you !!!! stop being afraid of being corrected !!!!#anyway i'm the only trans person my mum knows. as far as she knows. i really doubt there's never been another#just that she doesn't THINK there has been because she would have been able to tell. no actually.#anyway. she's an ally just one of those annoying ones. i love my mum.#found out today she got asked the 'dead gender or alive enby' question when i was like. twelve. GIRL STOP NOT TELLING ME THESE THINGGGSS#no wonder she got so triggered several years ago when i tried explaining the interpretation of hereditary being about peter being ftm

I’ll always be there to point and laugh when people act like it’s impossible to depict black and poc in their art especially the damn sims
#🫵🏽 aha you can’t or won’t perceive non white people which will always limit you and your art#to the point where you can’t process a non white person’s face so you make them white clearly there’s something to address there no? lmao#it’s really treated like an unachievable obstacle#for years I’ve seen people be like#‘this my interpretation of these black characters I made them white because it’s my interpre-‘#or ‘it’s just hard for me to depict them because I’m white’#LMAO BITCH SHUT UP#there are so many other excuses that are exactly just that excuses educate yourself and do some soul searching ig idk#acting like we’re some mythical creatures you can only see if you do a blood ritual on the night full moon#like what’s genuinely wrong with sum of y’all#mr.txt

“Sex should be something that can be discussed frankly and we shouldn’t be ashamed about discussing it” and “man I’m really tired of seeing sex infused with everything around me” are two ideas that can coexist
#like yes I believe in proper sex education and the demystification of sex#I am also aroace mildly sex repulsed#like please#i mean it truly is all intertwined with our cultures ideas of sex and how we all interpret that meaning#so perhaps these ideas aren’t that polar opposite#because in the end the goal is stop having sex be such a weird big deal

Someone on this website seriously said that the antidote to animal abuse videos being passed off as cute videos is to just follow a bunch of blogs along the lines of “is the cat video cute” or something. Now I wouldn’t call myself a brain genius, but I think the antidote is to teach people what common traits of animal stress look like, not to follow a lot of unverified blogs and hope that the information somehow trickles down.
#yes this is about moo deng#and no I can’t add the comment because I pointed out that it’s not really educational to tell people they’re stupid#for not being able to interpret animal behavior

And I’ll say this much about media literacy and metaphorical drapery:
The curtains may be blue, but that does NOT negate the fact that they’re also velvet. Or that they’re trimmed with fringe. Or that the sash to tie them back is embroidered with golden thread and white glass beads.
Multiple things can be true at once!
#blue curtains#media literacy#metaphorically#and yes this is me still on my train about#wicked#wicked 2024#because the TikTok comments make me fucking nauseous when I see people arguing about which interpretation is ✨fact✨#they’re interpretations people!#something something#the state of education

Hey your social media au is funny but why'd you have Dick speak Romanian? Wouldn't it make more sense to have him speak Romani?
I’m more familiar with the Romanian language since that’s what I see in headcanons!! From what I’ve seen, his Romani heritage isn’t developed enough into canon so I could look into it to be absolutely sure. So, I’m sticking to European Romani Dick for me!!
#I actually had this info before and I know a lot of ppl dislike dick speaking Romanian bc it enforces the stereotype that#Romanian equals Romani — but tbh — I think it’s everyone’s job to educate themselves about cultures even outside of their fandoms#like — it should be common knowledge that there’s several subgenres and communities of Romani ppl that have no tie to Romania at all#so just to clarify. dick isn’t white European to me. he’s a canonically Romani person. but his Romani heritage isn’t explored or literary#enough — so It’s open for interpretation to me. but ofc I could be wrong#asks
