Ring! Or THAT fic!
Fun fact - you chose the two fics that Courf plays a major role in!
Here's the Ring Fic (actual name tbd) ~1.2k words

“What the hell is that?” Courfeyrac asked, voice rising three octaves higher than usual.
Enjolras didn’t bother glancing up. “It’s a letter from Cosette’s stepdad. We’ve been corresponding about police matters and-”
“No, not that.” Courfeyrac pushed off the doorframe and strode over. He sat in the chair opposite Enjolras and tore the letter from him with more aggression than was needed, then grabbed at his wrist and held up his hand. “This.”
Enjolras blinked. “Oh. That’s a ring.”
Courfeyrac stared at him expectantly and when Enjolras said nothing he sighed and slumped back into his seat. He tilted his head back and let Enjolras’ hand drop back down to the table in order to run his own hand across his face. “Lord give me strength,” he muttered, then leaned forward again. “Pray tell, why are you wearing a ring?”
Enjolras picked the letter back up, but his eyes weren’t really focused on the words before him. “It’s an engagement ring.”
Courfeyrac bit his cheek before asking, “And who are you engaged to?”
“Grantaire.”
Courfeyrac spluttered. “What?”
“Do you need some water?” Enjolras stood and made his way over to the sink, glad that the conversation was taking place at his apartment and not in the Musain or God-forbid Courfeyrac’s house where one of the dramatist's many sisters could have been listening in.
When he sat back down and offered the glass of water to Courfeyrac he was waved off.
“Why are you engaged to Grantaire?” Courfeyrac asked, a peculiar anger brimming at the edges of his words.
Enjolras frowned at him. “So he can stay in the country. We talked about this at the last meeting.”
“No,” Courfeyrac said, shaking his head, “we joked about one of us marrying him so he could stay. The actual decision we came to was to appeal the decision.”
“Which we all know would take months. By the time his case was seen to he’d have been long since kicked out.”
“That’s not how it works-”
“That’s not how it is supposed to work,” Enjolras hissed, leaning forward in his seat, “but we all know that’s not true. It took Feuilly almost three years to get back.”
Courfeyrac winced and squinted at Enjolras, tongue poking at his cheek before he tutted and asked, “Is that what this is about? Is it some kind of redemption arc for you? Grantaire’s future is on the line here, Enjolras, you can’t-”
“You think I don’t know that?” Enjolras made a conscious effort to keep his volume down, not wanting the conversation to wake up Combeferre, who had a night shift in a few hours. “I want to help him, Courf, why is that so hard to understand?”
“Marrying Grantaire isn’t helping him.” Courfeyrac stood, hands in tight fists atop the table. He tapped at it a few times then pushed away, turning his back to Enjolras and taking a deep breath. “You need to speak to him, Enjolras. Properly. This can’t happen.”
“I have spoken to him,” Enjolras said, wishing Courfeyrac would turn around so he could see the look on his face. It had always been an open book, ever since he was tiny, and sometimes it was easier for people to understand what he meant, how sincere he was, when they were looking at him.
Courfeyrac ducked his head, still turned away. “You haven’t, not really. You wouldn’t be doing this if you had.”
“Courfeyrac,” Enjolras stood and placed his hand on his friend’s shoulder, turning him so they were face to face. “I’ve spoken to him. I know.”
Enjolras had thought it was what Courfeyrac wanted to hear, thought it would make the situation easier. But Courfeyrac just got angrier. His face went a deep red, his eyebrows drew together tightly, and his breath hitched in his throat.
“So why are you going through with it? Do you really hate him that much?”
“Quite the opposite. I think I’m in love with him, Courf.” Enjolras swallowed and stepped back, letting his legs guide him on muscle memory alone until he was safely tucked back into his seat at the table. “I think I have been for a while.”
“What made you realise?” Courfeyrac asked, settling across from him again, features significantly softer but with a hesitancy usually reserved for Combeferre or Enjolras himself.
“The thought of losing him,” Enjolras said simply, acutely aware of his fingers turning the ring on his left hand. It was a simple gold band with a vine shakily engraved around the outside. Grantaire had made it a few years ago. He’d dug it out of a box at the bottom of a drawer in the spare room he and Marius used as an office and thrown it at Enjolras’ face. Enjolras had caught it smoothly and slipped it onto his finger, smiling at the perfect fit.
“You’re serious then?” Grantaire asked, standing with his hands on his hips.
“I am,” Enjolras replied with a firm nod.
“Why?”
“I don’t want to lose you. You’re too important.”
“I can make digital art for Les Amis from anywhere-”
“To me.” Enjolras stepped forward and took Grantaire’s hands gently, pried open his closed fists and laced their fingers together. “You’re too important to me, Grantaire.”
Grantaire stared at him in disbelief. “You’re not just saying that, are you?”
“When do I ever ‘just say’ anything?” Enjolras asked, stepping closer still.
“We’ve done this all backwards,” Grantaire said, voice raspy, barely a whisper. “Engaged before we’ve even been on a date.”
“It’s actually not considered backwards in a lot of cultures, although some would argue that those cultures themselves are backwards and perhaps even problematic. But of course saying that another culture is problematic is in and of itself problematic so-”
“Enjolras,” Grantaire interrupted.
“Hmm?” Enjolras couldn’t lift his gaze from Grantaire’s lips.
“Shut up and kiss me already.”
Courfeyrac cleared his throat, reminding Enjolras that he wasn’t actually in Grantaire’s apartment still.
“Are you absolutely sure, Enjy?” Courfeyrac asked, using Enjolras’ childhood nickname. He only ever used it when he was truly worried about Enjolras; the last time had been during their exams in their last year at university, when Enjolras was eating barely three meals a week and sleeping barely three hours a night.
Enjolras reached across the table and held Courfeyrac’s hands tightly. He could easily spout off a hundred reasons as to why he was certain marrying Grantaire was the right move. He could list all the ways he loved the artist in rapid-fire succession now that he’d realised what his feelings were. But he knew that for once Courfeyrac didn’t need dramatics, so instead he simply said, “Yes.”
Of course, that wasn’t how Courfeyrac told the story at the wedding reception three weeks later. No, in his version Enjolras had begun to recite some of Jehan’s poetry and even broke out into an interpretive dance number. Nobody believed him, obviously – it was Enjolras he was talking about, after all – but Grantaire had looked so happy at the mere idea that they all went along with it anyway. And if later that night in the privacy of their wedding suite Enjolras did recite a poem he’d commissioned from Jehan, well, that was for just him and Grantaire to know.

Writing Update (02/18/23)
First, long time no see, but I’m back with another writing update.
I finished posting Tomorrow, Always and Forever a few days ago. Thank you all for reading this fanfic! Hope that enjoyed it. You can read it by checking out my pinned post.
With TA&F finished, it will be awhile until I start work on my next fic since my focus will remain solely on my editing project now. I have finished edits on Poison and Wine and Wildest Dreams, and have moved on to Enemy of Love. Reminder for EoL is that it’s getting rewritten entirely, so I am only up to rewriting the prologue, but will work on it a little more after I finished this update. However, the original version will be available to read by PDF on my WordPress blog. I will also be returning to working on my outline for the rewritten version of Will You Love Me Tomorrow very soon.
But once I do return to writing fanfics, my first one will be Safe and Sound, which is the prequel for Begin Again.
That is all I have for right now! I’ll be back with another update soon!
