A Hardworking Parent Needs a Hand

Imagine losing your only car while trying to help a loved one—only to learn your insurance was canceled the day before. That’s the heartbreaking reality for this parent of 9 children, now struggling with no transportation and no way to work.

Yesterday's Carribean feast. It was such an honor to cook this menu. I struggle with feelings of frustration and helplessness when there are big disasters. I wish I could love all the despair and pain away. I am grateful that I can therapeutically cook away done of the pain. Filing the air with the smells of St. Kitts and Kingston helped to purge the negative and usher the sweetness of Unity and service where I needed it. We were able to have a great day of sales and contribute a little to those Amazing Bahamians that will rebuilding soon. We also were rewarded by Carribean Island transplants coming through to pick up some 'provisions' and a great local group of family friends that anointed the day in joy and smiles. Who doesn’t like Maroon?  Seriously, that’s one cool color.  I can’t stand pastels, and steer clear of anything that’s too bright, but Maroon is one of those colors that’s just about right.

It’s dark enough that you can wear it in the shop and not have stains show too much.  But it’s light enough that you can wear it around town without standing out like a sore thumb.

While I was making this design up, I decided to do away with all the pocket tees that had the logo on the pocket itself.  This way, the logo shines even when you have a pocket full of goodies.

Who knew I’d start as a blacksmith and end up as a fashion designer?  It’s good to be me, I guess.
