I didn’t get a blackout for this round of the @stuckyversebingo event, but did manage 4 bingos on Card 013 (Columns B & C, Row 5 and Diagonal LtoR). I filled 18 squares with 13 fanworks – including two multi-chapter works that used more than one square – writing 16,856 words towards this bingo.

Top 10 Episodes From The 1979 Anime That Every Doraemon Fan Must Watch

many people were introduced to this franchise by the 2005 anime, however the previous series is worth watching as well if you wanna get the full doraemon experience! considering it has nearly 1800 episodes and has lasted for 26 years (1979-2005), one might not know where to start from, so here's a list of the best episodes from the series, if you're interested in watching it!

disclaimer: if you don't speak japanese, italian or hindi it's gonna be a bit harder to watch the 1979 series, as these three languages have the most episodes in dub. i have watched all these in italian on youtube so if you want to know the italian title of any of these episodes because you couldn't find it in another language feel free to ask!

p.s. every ōyama doraemon episode mentioned in my old post titled my favorite episodes that are centered around suneo could easily make it into this list but since i don't wanna be repetitive i won't include them in this post.

10. Lovey Dovey Umbrella

あいあいガサ (#1328), 1994

in which nobita gets jealous after seeing shizuka and dekisugi walking back home while standing under the same umbrella, so doraemon gives him an umbrella that will make shizuka fall in love with him, if he manages to make her stand under it while he's holding it. obviously something goes wrong and that's what makes this episode fun to watch for me as i'm not the biggest fan of these gadgets that manipulate one's feelings.

9. Ichiyadzuke / Last-Minute Cramming (?)

いちやづけ (1993), #1262

uncertain about the english translation of the title (as the one i found on the wiki, last-minute cramming, seems very unrelated to the plot and the used gadget) but i watched it in italian and it's called la verifica di matematica (the math test). with that being said, you need to know that i watch this episode before every math test for good luck (it never works but it's my fault, not doraemon's), so of course this episode had to make it into my top 10! as you can guess, doraemon lends nobita a gadget that can help him learn stuff without any effort, and when the teacher announces a math test, gian and suneo will do anything to convince nobita to share said gadget with them.

8. Confidence Machine

自信ぐらつ機 (1985), #807

after hearing gian boast about his muscles and strength and suneo brag about his wealth, beauty and intelligence, nobita is fed up with their conceitedness so he borrows a gadget to lower their self-esteem; although the artstyle is more polished in the 90s and early 2000s, i think the funniest stories were mostly in the 80s. the following 15 years also have amazing episodes, don't get me wrong! the entirety of ōyama doraemon is truly a work of art and is very special to me, especially the early 2000s episodes which i grew up with.

7. Recollection Hammer

思い出しトンカチ (1995), #1359

the ending is what makes this episode so good; recollection hammer is useful if you forgot something and would like to remember: all you need to do is tap on your head with the hammer while you think about what you're wondering and you'll instantly recollect your memories. first doraemon uses it to help nobita's father then gian tells nobita that he would like to remember a certain girl he was friends with during preschool, but for some reason nobita refuses to and runs away.

6. I Am Nobiko

nobita is absolutely convinced that girls have it easier and asks doraemon to make him become one. to prove him wrong he accepts his request and makes him use the what if phone booth. the next day at school everything seems to go well as nobita expected, until... well you'll have to watch the episode to find out!

5. The Generator Of Great Performances

メー演機 (2002), #1691

worried and envious that dekisugi might get the role of the prince in the cinderella school play, nobita asks doraemon to make him become a great actor and thus get the role. at his audition he accidentally recites the lines of both the prince and cinderella, which will have its consequences; i'm surprised this is the only 2000s episode i could think of but maybe it's because the rest are on my other post.

4. Mind Reading Helmet

さとるヘルメット (1986), #854

in which doraemon lends nobita a helmet that lets him read people's minds so he knows when gian is about to beat him up; no spoilers but this is one of those episodes that shows his kind and unselfish side and it made me cry, like i genuinely felt bad for him.

3. Boygirl

オトコンナ (1993), #1215

one of the most important doraemon episodes and it blows my mind that a kids show would deal with the topic of gender roles in the early 90s (i don't think i need to remind you that japan isn't the most left wing country in the world). and for once it isn't played for laughs like in i am nobiko or in any episode where someone is made fun of for their interests or the way they act, because there's an actual scene where nobita discusses his thoughts and has a serious conversation with doraemon, trying to understand why certain things are considered masculine or feminine.

sure, the episode still doesn't deal with this topic in the most perfect way, for example after switching the gender roles, nobita and doraemon are disappointed at women being less kind and laugh at men for being more sensitive, so are they really above the kids who laughed at nobita for preferring indoor hobbies over outdoors sports?

we might as well talk about how nobita himself laughed at someone else *cough cough* suneo *cough cough* for the same reasons and more than once in other occasions, but with thousands of episodes it's hard to make them all coherent with each other so i'll give them a pass.

p.s. i don't agree with the gender stereotypes that the episode shows, for example after using the gadget on everyone, i don't think tamako's personality changed at all, she simply started smoking and is reading a newspaper but she was already strict.

2. Fellowship Badge

なかまバッチ (1987), #944

nobita is upset that he doesn't have a friendship like shizuka and dekisugi's or suneo and gian's (especially after dekisugi excluded him from their studying session and gian beat him up because he thought he was bothering suneo), so doraemon gives him matching badgets, and the person who wears must come save you everytime you need it and viceversa.

nobita wants to get drunk like his dad to forget the misfortunes of life but since he's too young to drink alcohol, doraemon gives him a bottle cap that can turn your drink into something that has the same effects as an alcoholic beverage without alcohol consumption; suneo is the absolute protagonist of this episode without the story being centered around him, bravo! needless to say that this is the most controversial episode of doraemon of all time and it probably won't get a remake in the 2005 anime.

Six NHS staff workers are typically reported every week in England for sexually harassing a patient or colleague, the Telegraph can reveal.

Nearly a fifth of English trusts have recorded a rise in reports of sexual harassment within their services since 2017, while millions have been spent by the NHS on legal claims specific to sexual abuse over the same time period, according to newly-obtained data.

Health secretary Steve Barclay described the findings as “worrying” and urged NHS leaders to take “robust action in response to any such incidents in their organisation”.

Patient Safety Learning, a charity dedicated to improving patient experiences, said the Telegraph's “deeply troubling” revelations demonstrated an abuse of the “significant power imbalance” that exists between vulnerable patients and their care providers.

“Healthcare professionals need to recognise the power they hold over patients,” said chief executive Helen Hughes.

As the NHS reckons with its own ‘Me Too’ movement, the Telegraph can reveal that 16,082 reports of sexual harassment have been made against doctors and nurses, patients, and ancillary staff over the past five years – equivalent to 8.8 a day.

The data, acquired via the Freedom of Information law, is specific to 98 out of 184 trusts in England, and is therefore likely to underestimate the scale of sexual harassment reported within the NHS.

Position of trust ‘betrayed’

Further analysis of the data shows that at least 807 staff members have been accused of sexually harassing a colleague or patient across the 98 trusts between 2017 and 2022, while 45 have been found guilty.

When extrapolated to all 184 trusts, this suggests an estimated 1,607 NHS workers have been accused of sexual misconduct over the past five years – equivalent to six reports every week.

Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has one of the highest rates for reports of staff-on-patient sexual misconduct, recording 57 incidents since 2017. It said all reports of inappropriate behaviour are taken “extremely seriously, with the Trust having clear systems in place to ensure all reported incidents are recorded and investigated swiftly”.

As part of its investigation into sexual harassment within the NHS, the Telegraph uncovered the case of a mentally incapacitated patient who was raped by her healthcare worker and subsequently fell pregnant. The incident took place within the past five years at a major trust in the centre of England.

The healthcare worker, who is in his 30s, was recently jailed for eight months after pleading guilty to sexual activity with a mentally-disordered female. The patient and case cannot be named for legal reasons.

Joe Matchett, an expert lawyer at Irwin Mitchell who has secured settlements for survivors of abuse, said his firm continues to “represent a number of patients subjected to terrible abuse at the hands of hospital staff who have betrayed their position of trust in the worst imaginable way”.

Amid national efforts to clamp down on sexual misconduct within the health sector, the figures obtained by the Telegraph suggest that a rising number of people who work for or use the NHS are coming forward to report experiences of harassment within its services.

Of the 98 trusts who responded to our FOI requests, 39 provided a year-by-year breakdown for their data. Twenty-nine recorded an increase in reports since 2017, while five reported a decrease. The number of reports made annually at the remaining five trusts remained constant over the past five years.

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which has recorded a 65 per cent rise in reports of sexual harassment, increasing from 81 in 2017/18 to 131 in 2021/22, said it had a “high level of reporting”, which “indicates a healthy safety culture”.

A spokesperson added: “The figures reported include patient-on-patient; family-on-patient and patient-on-staff sexual misconduct, and many include repeated incidents involving one or two people.

“These could range in type from inappropriate comments, kissing, touching or indecent exposure.”

Although there is an acknowledgement that progress is being made in encouraging survivors of sexual misconduct and abuse to come forward in reporting their experiences, senior health leaders admit more needs to be done to purge the NHS of such behaviour.

The British Medical Association and Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) have both publicly acknowledged their shortcomings in tackling sexual misconduct and misogyny within their organisations.

In a statement released earlier this year, the president of the RCS said: “We have been aware that there needs to be a cultural change in surgery for some time …”

A senior NHS official meanwhile told the Telegraph “there’s more to do both to help people raise complaints and stop abuse in the first place.”

The source added: “The NHS staff survey suggests that sexual misconduct has persisted at a consistent rate in the last five years. The feedback we are getting, more concerns are being raised in male-dominated working environments.

“There do appear to be some particular problems in parts of the workforce, such as surgery and ambulance services, but in general it is something employers take seriously.”

Questions over misconduct procedures

While the NHS’ national staff survey does not specify sexual misconduct, it does ask whether workers have experienced harassment, bullying or abuse at work from a colleague, patient or manager. In 2021, 17.83 per cent of the workforce answered ‘yes’ – up marginally from 17.73 per cent in 2017.

“Inappropriate behaviours undermine trust in healthcare system and the ability to deliver safe care,” said Ms Hughes.

“Clinicians, managers and healthcare leaders have both a professional and moral responsibility to patients to ensure that there is a safe culture in healthcare settings and that misconduct is not tolerated.”

The data collected by the Telegraph also raises questions about the manner in which trusts handle complaints of sexual misconduct.

Information on investigative and disciplinary action was provided for just 1,973 out of the 16,082 reports of sexual misconduct.

Many trusts did not provide the data requested as they said it would breach General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Others said they couldn’t provide the information as it was not recorded in the trust’s incident reporting system, while some said the data was not easily accessible and that obtaining it would require reviewing each recorded incident.

Figures also show that, since 2017, the NHS has spent £4.47 million on legal costs specific to sexual abuse lawsuits filed by healthcare workers or patients.

Expenditure rose from £806,408 in 2017/18 to £1.1 million in 2019/20, but subsequently dropped to £673,777 in the following financial year.

Em Wilkinson-Brice, national director for people, NHS England, said: “The NHS must be a safe space for all staff and patients – we do not tolerate any form of sexual misconduct, violence, harassment or abuse in any workplace setting and are clear that all NHS Trusts and organisations must have robust measures in place to ensure immediate action is taken in any cases reported to them.

“I would strongly encourage anyone who has experienced any misconduct in the NHS to come forward and report it and seek support.”

I meant to answer this ask ages ago ಥ﹏ಥ I’m sorry. I did really want to do proper fics that weren’t formatted like the documents, to allow for more explanation on the events! Plus if I do different perspectives I think it could be really neat and spooky <3 I wanted to do it but it’s such a niche thing I didn’t know if anyone would want that aha

But I compiled all my notes on the SCPs I made if you (or anyone else) wants to see some thoughts on my process! (Some of this was stated in that last ask but I went ahead and just included it here too for more concise information)

Starting off with the general information: The Mobile Task Force unit that handles this facility is Vanguard, which was chosen as a reference to Vanguard Action Squad that the LOV temporarily had. This facility is Site-78 located in Japan (this information was kept from the documents for mystery).

Ujiko is the Site Director for this location, having his hands in being responsible for collecting research on every single subject here as well as hand selecting his personnel. He works closely with All for One who is on the board of directors for the SCP foundation. All for One has his hands in many facilities, greedily collecting and hiding away SCPs for research and experimentation purposes. He lives for the power trip he gets having sole access to multiple priceless creatures and objects.

Tomura | SCP-9404 (404 for his birthday being April 4th)

When hearing reports about him before finding him they thought he was a poltergeist

Shows bend around the subject to make it appear much darker than it is

Silhouette resembles that of a moth (like the moth symbolism/allegory he’s had in canon)

He has a decaying touch (like his quirk, more restrictive though)

Special containment will be needed

Because of his unstable nature he’ll need to be medically induced coma (would be put into a goopy tube like the one he gets put into by Ujiko in canon)

Special gloves, to aid in preventing the decay (similar to ones used that are headcanoned by the fandom)

Gets along the best with Spinner (only SCP he’s ever come in contact with, mimics their closeness in canon)

Multiple incident reports regarding him since he was discovered

They stupidly assumed that he would be easy enough to control

Was the worst when he first showed up and then again when he escaped

His escape attempt put him into a permanent coma because of the damage he caused and now they think he’ll kill everyone and/or escape again

Dabi | SCP-9118 (118 for his birthday being January 18th)

Firebug

Prone to catching on fire when his emotions are high strung

Changed to raising in temperature when he’s emotions get out of control

Might be just a composite of flames

Could've burned away all skin and the charred bones are the only thing left (mimicking the fact that only Touya’s jaw bone was found)

Also needs special containment

Various heat resistant equipment needed (ways to put out the fire, redacted Grade level suits, sprinkler system and precautions for putting out said fire)

Found in a forest after fight with his family (again mimicking how Touya was found by AFO in the forest the night he “died”)

Enji experimented on Touya causing him to turn into the monster he is now. This will lead to heavy investigation by Ujiko and All for One.

Kai was a researcher but got too close to an SCP and merged with it becoming infected

Constant battle of wills between Kai and the SCP

DID (dissociative identity disorder) metaphor. Kai gains control but doesn't remember what happened. Overhaul does.

SCP-8320-1 is Dr. Chisaki with parts of Dr. Nemoto fused to. It looks like four arm Overhaul

Still a battle of wills between Dr. Chisaki and the mask because it's fighting for control.

The mask understands that it made a mistake choosing Dr. Chisaki because he’s too perfect of a host.

Possibly has the ability to "overhaul" things

During the breakout, it fused with multiple people allowing it to escape containment, getting rid of them as it went “because they were no longer useful”

He worked in a diamond mine that has been closed off now due to the effects it had on the workers (he was the only survivor)

The SCP is probably the crystal cavern. SCP-XXXX-1, SCP-XXXX-2, and SCP-XXXX-4 died. Hojo is SCP-XXXX-3.

Most people died in the mines trying to collect information and Hojo while the rest of them died shortly after returning

Some researchers and MTF/Personnel died in the decontamination process and research phase in the beginning

One of the other subjects from the cavern probably made it to the facility but died shortly after

The answer is no and they die. Prayer Beads recover successfully. (Direct reference to that random dude that Overhaul shouted to jump in front of him when he met with the LOV for the first time)

Rappa | SCP-8111 (D-13886) [8 for “8 precepts of Death” and 111 because “Do not kill” is the first buddhist precept | 13886 is because Rappa’s debut in the manga was chapter 138 and his debut in Vigilanties was chapter 86]

SCP was found being worn by someone who got ahold of a pair of brass knuckles

Found in a fight ring underground

This is a reference to Rappa fighting in that fighting ring in the Vigilanties Manga series

The brass knuckles enhances the users strength well above human levels

The knuckles causes the wearer to go into a enraged furious frenzy

Other users reported that they felt the need to fight anyone they saw to the death

That they needed to find a worthy opponent

Rappa was the researchers favorite subject to use since he was happy to go along with it since he liked having the excuse to fight and kill other D-Class

Respected Researcher Chisaki and aided him the breakout because of it

He was manipulated into being on good terms with him since Kai knew he’d be easier to control that way

Katsukame | SCP-8333 [8 for 8 precepts of Death” and 333 because “abstain from sexual activity” is the third buddhist precept]

Some large creature, people might’ve thought was a bear that got a jar stuck on its head

Always tries to have something on its head, the information regarding its face is redacted because the last time someone tried to take anything he puts on his face off became a stain on the wall that they still can’t get out

This is only because I literally can’t picture him without a mask or something covering his face and he’s the only person who never got a face reveal in the Hassaikai

Looks like a really large Black Bear (specifically Ursus thibetanus [asian black bear]) with weird ass characteristics

Weights roughly 220kg

Grossly enlarged muscle mass three (3) times that of standard black bear with the ability to move objects over 450kgs with a single paw

Ability to run up to 80kph

It got added in the notes that no one can comprehend the SCPs face, but can’t confirm because no one else has tried and lived and Chisaki always says “No”

Ujiko let him stay on the SCP case and around it because he wanted to see more of what the SCP would do

An Introduction to a New Project

Well, this is a change of pace, isn’t it?

Hello one and all! Whether you’re a previous follower of my blog, are not a follower but still actively sought out this post, or just came across it by sheer accident somehow, I welcome you to my very first screenshot Let’s Play!

What’s a screenshot Let’s Play? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like: a Let’s Play, but done through text and (most importantly) screenshots instead of recording a video. I’ve watched Let’s Plays for as long as I can remember, even wanted to be a Let’s Player at one point- I’ve long since left behind that particular idea, since I have neither the time nor resources to record full-on YouTube videos of gameplay. Still, the idea of playing through and commentating on the experience at the same time- it’s continued to pique my interest, even to this day.

Then, just within the past week, I discovered screenshot Let’s Plays. Specifically, I found one such playthrough of the infamous Pokémon ROM hack Pokémon Snakewood (the less said the better, this isn’t about them), posted by Rainbow Chara X (which can be found here, if you’re curious about reading it yourself) on the PokéCommunity forums. The format of a Let’s Play using screenshots had me by the neck immediately- it was fascinating. I enjoyed reading it, and it was because I enjoyed reading it that I had an idea.

I may not have video recording/editing software, but I do have a Tumblr blog and enough time to take screenshots as I play a game and at least write about my experiences as if I was doing a Let’s Play. Besides- I enjoy writing, and I think I’m pretty good at it too (I mean, I did write an entire Danganronpa fan story, which anyone reading who’s interested should totally check out if given the chance, more info in this post)-

Shameless plugs aside, I have decided to do my own screenshot Let’s Play, needless to say. And what better game to start out with than with one from the same source material as the one featured in the playthrough that inspired me to do this? But this one’s no ROM hack, no- it’s a full-on fan game. None other than:

Pokémon Reborn! If you’ve never heard of this game, allow me to regale you with the game’s synopsis (as told by its very own website):

I love Pokémon, played it ever since I was a little kid, and I’m certainly no stranger to its fan game scene- if I love something enough, I consume and/or make fan content of it (like Danganronpa). I even had plans to make a fan game of my own- which I might still do, if/when I get enough time and motivation. I’ve played Pokémon fan games before, mostly Pokémon Insurgence, and I’ve looked into Pokémon Reborn in the past, but only now have I finally decided to play it as well.

And you all, however many are perceiving this post now or in the future, get to come along for the ride! I can’t promise a regular schedule for updates, I am a college student with other responsibilities (and hyperfixations) to focus on, but I can assure anyone who’s listening that when I do update, they will be filled with some amount of comedic value.

So sit back, grab a snack and/or a drink, and follow me as we have some completely normal, totally professional, and non-scuffed adventures in Reborn City!

The Booha Artemy searches for answers about the Centre of the Zone with the Kin, but comes away with more questions than answers.

The three make their way through the outskirts of the New Town to where the Kin have settled. Their tents and huts are painted brightly with textures and flowing lines – clay, blood, chalk. The people recognise Artemy, the Booha, but the others garner their wary interest.

Most eyes fall on Daniil, being the complete stranger to the town, in his shiny snakeskin jacket and unsullied boots. He tries to smile politely and waves his hand in greeting to the children hiding behind mothers’ skirts, but earns no smiles for it. Stakh, with his balaclava on, tails them like a looming shadow – melding into the surroundings more than standing out. An anonymous stalker, neither the first nor the last to pass through the settlement.

Aspity stands outside her tend, watching their approach, no doubt knowing they would come to her before they even realized they would need to.

“Going to the centre, now? How brave and foolish, young Menkhu,” she says instead of a greeting once Artemy is within earshot. The other two earn no more than a cursory glance-over. They would be accessories to this conversation, rather than participants.

“Can’t hide anything from you,” Artemy says with a wry smile, opting for Russian, which still flows more freely from his tongue than Kin, “Who told you this?”

“I had a dream,” she says simply. Her short-cropped hair is snow-white and wiry, her eyes milky, belying a deep-set blindness. Despite this, her gaze is caught on Artemy’s like a falcon catches a mouse, “And you’ve come to me for answers, now that there is no one else left to ask. How late the youth realise the need for their elders, young Menkhu.”

“Please, tell us what you know about the centre,” Artemy asks, and his voice is sincere and strong, and firm.

Daniil watches over his shoulder as the still-life of the settlement bleeds into motion once again, the people beginning to move and bustle, and whisper among themselves. They still watch the new-comers, but no longer with a wariness, rather a curiosity reserved for a trail of ants. He does not altogether like it.

Stakh nudges him, pointing his chin back at Aspity and Artemy. Focus, he seems to say without speaking.

“Then you must understand the nature of how the Zone formed. It was never aliens or angels or whatever you outsiders and green-beaks seem to think it was,” Aspity says, her eyes never straying from Artemy’s, “the visitation was rather an inoculation of unearthly forces into the earth, and the Zone is the immune response that is to be expected after such an experiment.”

“What was inoculated into the earth?” Artemy asks, brows furrowing.

“The three mistresses of the leading families, of course,” Aspity says, spitting the word mistress like a curseword, “It was all the plan of Old Menkhu Burakh, the heads of the houses, and the Foreman. An attempt to marry the Earth to the skies and the people, nevermind the consequences.”

“Why?”

“Why indeed? A good deal of us were against it, I’ll have you know. The good deal that left the inflamed land. The rest stayed behind, and we haven’t been in touch since, though I feel them sometimes. A distant beacon over the horizon. The Kin lives on in halves – it has been split down the middle and gutted.”

Here, Artemy’s brow furrows deeply, and he switches over to the language of the Kin to Stakh’s and Daniil’s chagrin, “There are people living in the centre of the Zone?”

“The Old Town and the Old Settlement never depopulated, young Menkhu,” Aspity is grim, “Whatever you wish to find there is sure to be safely guarded by the children of the Zone.”

“To what end?”

Here, she laughs, “Ask yourself – how many ends are there? They chose to incite a loveless marriage, complacent with the resulting pain of the Earth. What care do they hold for a life?”

“Is that why so few return? The other half of the Kin kill them?”

“The Other Half is but one of the dangers of the inflamed earth, young Menkhu. You are heading into a separate world altogether. Where dreams rove the earth alongside nightmares, and beasts are spoiled rotten by the mingling of the sky and earth.”

A tremor enters Artemy’s voice. Disbelief mixed with something bitter like wormwood, “How could my father will this? How could anyone will this?”

“He thought a century of blackness would be better than a millenia of gray,” Aspity answers with no joy, “Does the reason matter now that it is done already? Day 2: Diary

I know that I have been doing the wrong challenge, in terms of the year. But, I have already settled to do it with that one so... sorry

Words: 807 yes it is really short sorry. (Chokako's name is Chikako, but Reina as misspronounced it since she was a baby and everyone knows her by her misspronounced name. She actually likes it, finds it cute. Also, yes Chokako is a trans character and she stated her gender very early and since that moment everyone has addressed her with the correct pronouns and name. So, I hope that nobody comes talking about it so everything is clear. )

-Cho-The lovely lady smiled at her broadly, showing her teeth without shame - You will be in charge of Reina for today okey? - Cho replied laughing happily. - Yes, I am with the baby!! - shouted. She immediately took her humble sandals and started to walk around the compound towards the Aburame home. - Hello!!!! Good morning!!- shouted the girl who was just 5 years old. -Choo- could be heard equally vividly by a tiny squeaking voice. In the garden a toddler. Reina was wearing a shirt too big for her and her barefoot was touching the grass. She giggled when she saw her and started to run to her sister. Chokako hugged her firmly -Chookakoooooo - said the toddler who kept elongating the vowels laughing while doing so. Cho tried to take her in her arms, the soft voice of Takeo looked at them - Chokako are you going to help me with this rebellious bumblebee? - the tall man approached both girls holding a big guard, he then put it on his back. The girl smiled seriously - It’s today’s mission, sir yes sir - Reina was bubbling some words trying to imitate her.

The small group started their walk towards the rice fields. Reina did not have shoes for her, but the toddler seemed to not care about it. Chokako held her hand firmly while guiding her, they were straight behind Takeo. Aburames were usually in charge of everything related with the agriculture in that place, the overflow of chakra than the seed produced led quite usually to huge plagues that endangered the town’s supplies, or better said Kamo’s cargo. Aburames took good care of all of it, Chokako had lately accompanied her mothers to the repair and construction sites, learning the profession they would tell her; although it was more about learning about everything that was expected from her. However, today they need help keeping an eye on Reina. Nobody told her how, but Shiori’s serious face made her uncomfortable. Something happened, she was sure about it…but what?

-Apa apa gapa ? - said the toddler

-Let grandpa rest, ladybug - Chokako look at Reina

-Buna is ill?- Reina answered by munching her shirt. Nobody answered either of the toddlers. When they reached the rice field, Takehiko and Chio were already there. They just wave their hands.

-Girls, stay near me okey? - both nodded with their tiny heads. Takeo started to work as was expected of him. He took the guard off his back and opened the jar. He then did some signs using one hand and started to concentrate his chakra, some insects left his body and started to do their routine checking the state of those big fields. While the insects started to work on that, Takeo went into the rice puddles, and started to harvest the rice. The girls looked at him amazed

-Daice - laughed tiny Reina while giving little jumps. The man looked at both girls - Let me see your palms darlings - both girls offered their hands and the man put some rice on them

-Is brown? - said Chokako amazed by the look that unclean and unprocessed rice had before it was ready to be eaten. Reina tried to munch it - Nooo -shouted and took the rice off. A very agitated conversation started among both toddlers about why they shouldn’t eat that rice. Takeo laughed low and kept working.

After some hours the girls run out of ideas to play with. Takeo had cleaned almost a whole field, experience and the fact that he was a shinobi for real allowed him to work faster than any worker. He got closer to the girls - What are you doing? - they were drawing with a stick on the Earth.

-Is a picture of you! -

-PAPA - said Reina, sometimes she got her words right. He felt his heart break in two any time she said that word. - I should write that in a diary.

-What 's diary?

- It’s like a book, but the pages are empty and you write what you want there. Most people write about their day. - The tiny Chokako looked at the mud thinking - Let’s make a diary Reina

-Deina- repeated her. Both girls started to draw in the mud their own particular diary. Chokako could actually write her name and her clan name, but Reina just made a huge mess of sticks and figures.

-No Reina is not like that - reprehend the kid.

Those were good times, but not the best of them. They kept playing with the mud, practicing more their letters and stick figures, forgetting about the rumbling in their stomachs and about the sounds that visitors made to the rice fields. Forgetting that they were trapped there, so did Takeo.

Walking with his bag slung over his shoulder, Bob adjusted his glasses as he made his way back into the Top Gun building. Pushing open the door he made his way down the halls pausing right outside of the locker rooms, hearing chatter coming from it before he entered.

“Here, let’s see what Bob thinks” Hangman's voice rang through the locker room “Bob” He made his way over to Bob, clapping a hand on his shoulder.

“What do you think this mission is for, all of us, back here just two months after the uranium plant mission. What do you think we’re doing now?” Jake moved his hand from Bob’s shoulder and motioned over to Rooster, Payback, Fanboy, Fritz, and Coyote “Because Bradshaw thinks we’re speaking to the new Top Gun graduates, and the rest guess that Cyclone is holding an Alumni Competition”

Bob shrugged making his way over to his locker “I couldn’t say” he set his bag down on the bench as he started to unpack it “But if I had to guess, then it’s another seek and destroy mission” he grabbed his flight suit, starting to put it on “What do you think it is?”

Jake smirked, turning back to his locker. “We’re here to teach our individual special skills, ” he hummed. “And I know that's a possibility because I saw Maverick walking in to go talk with Cyclone and I’m hoping that-” Before Jake could finish his sentence Pete popped his head into the locker room to yell.

“Everyone will be dressed and ready in the hager in five minutes! We’ve got a guest today”

Everyone nodded to him and quickly finished getting ready before making their way out to the hanger, seeing Maverick, Warlock, and Cyclone standing in front of the flag that hung from the ceiling.

As soon as everyone had taken their seats Warlock walked up to the podium to address the pilots. “Thank you all for agreeing to this” he started “The reason why I am giving the introduction to this mission today and not Admiral Simpson is beauce I asked” he gave a small smile “In three weeks, six Jets will be escorting and if necessary defending a cargo convoy that is transporting weaponry. Everyone who is here will be participating in the mission”

Phoenix looked around at the group before raising her hand “Sir you said there would be six Jets. That’s three solo pilots and three Wingmen with their RIO’s…. Out of all of us here, there’s only two solo pilots… Is Captain Mitchell flying with us?”

Warlock shook his head “Captain Mitchell will be co-instructing this mission…and as he might have told you already we have a guest, this pilot is someone I have personally flown with so I expect all of you to treat her with the utmost respect” he eyed everyone in the crowd (but mostly just Hangman) “because not only is she on loan to us from the Marines for this mission to co-instruct… she will also be your mission leader”

Footsteps filled the hanger as Warlock motioned to the back of the room “So without further ado I would like to introduce Captain Y/N Y/L/N” everyone’s heads turned watching as the new Captain made her way up to the front of the crowd “Call Sign ‘Killjoy’.” He moved around the podium to shake Y/N’s hand before she took his place.

As Y/N’s eyes scanned the room looking at her fellow pilots before she paused on Bob, seeing how his mouth was parted in surprise. She gave a small smile before clearing her throat “Thank you for the introduction Admiral Bates, as mentioned previously I am Captain Y/L/N but you all can call me Killjoy” she hummed “I’m not here to teach you anything new, I am here to make sure that the nine of us can function together as a unit” she glanced to Bob before looking down to the podium “I’m sure that it should be fairly simple to get along, especially after hearing that all of you flew together two months ago” looking back up she nodded to Pete “Captain Mitchell already knows where you all stand in your flight abilities but I don’t. Captain Mitchell and I will be up in the air, and you all will go up in groups of two and complete a short course so I can see where everyone’s at” Y/N moved away from the podium

“First group in the air is Hangman with Fanboy and Payback. You go up in five” Pete called out to dismiss everyone before he turned to Y/N to set up a plan between themselves.

Pushing out of her seat, Natasha started off for the lounge before she stopped realizing that Bob was still sat at the table watching Y/N. Walking back over to him she snapped in front of his face pulling him out of whatever trance he was in “Earth to Bob?” she hummed watching as he pulled his gaze away from Y/N, she raised her eyebrow with a smirk “Oh my god” she chuckled before turning to go to the lounge.

“What?” Bob called out, moving from his seat to follow her.

“You totally like the Captain” she hummed walking into the lounge where Bradley, Javy, and Billy eyed the two, curious of their conversation.

“Bob likes the Captain?” Javy smiled looking to the RIO “Don’t worry I like her, I’m sure Hangman and Rooster do to” he laughed

A small flush came over Bob’s face “You guys are horrible” he shook his head “I do no-” he paused hearing the door open before he could finish.

Poking her head into the room Y/N looked around before her eyes landed on Bob “Lieutenant Floyd… May I speak to you?” she motioned to the hallway. Bob only nodded before he made his way out of the room.

Everyone looked between each other before they glanced at the windows of the lounge, watching as Bob and Y/N exchanged a few words before shaking hands, a few more words were said before Y/N turned to walk back to the hanger and Bob made his way back into the lounge, with everyone’s eyes on him.

Natasha was the first to speak “Please tell me she just asked you out?”

“No, did you see that hand shake?” Bradley started “If anything she was introducing herself, but she definitely thinks he’s cute, because she didn’t introduce herself to the rest of us.”

Jogging down the corridor of the building, Y/N glanced down at her watch. Late, of course. One of the top four most skilled Shield Agents, in espionage and yet punctuality is not her forte, at least for debriefings that is.

Picking up her pace to a sprint she glanced at the numbers written along the meeting rooms before stopping at room 407, straightening herself out before opening the door. As the door opened she was met by the glaring eye of Nick Fury, who stood at the head of the long table before glancing around the room, noticing Natasha, Clint, and Bucky all seated at various points around the meeting table.

“Well look who decided to grace us with her presents” he started. “What happened, get caught up talking to the level 1 agents again?” He followed her as she took a seat next to Bucky. Giving him a light nudge and smile, to which she was met with the same smile and light nudge back.

“Ya know I was gonna lie and say that but honestly Nick, my alarm didn’t go off so my 20 minute desk nap became a 25 minute desk nap. To which I apologize” she hummed, grabbing a case file from the center of the table.

From quickly glancing at the file Y/N let out a whistle “Damn I pity the poor soul who’s doing the deep cov-” she stopped looking around the room, noticing everyone was staring at her with an amused smile on their face. “You’re fucking kidding me?!” she shrieked “You’re sending me in deep cover to Strasbourg?!” she moved to lean against the table.

“You and me both L/N” Bucky matched her enthusiasm.

“Why are you sending us?! No offense Barnes, but do you remember what happened the last time we did deep cover together.” Bucky smirked at her response, remembering. “Yeah Y/N we remember, Laura and I are still trying to buff out the dent in the gun you borrowed, besides are you afraid you’ll have to play real Wife to your Work Husband?” Clint smirked watching as Y/N pointed across the table at him, pointing her finger accusingly.

A blush spread across her and Bucky’s faces as she pointed back to Clint “We are no different than you and Natasha, besides that was not my fault” she moved to point to Bucky before poking him in his shoulder “I told Bucky not to grab the bathtub when he chu-”

He pointed back at her, “Me?! You told me to gra-”

“REGARDLESS of the damages done to any weaponry or safe houses, Barton and Romanoff are too well known in Strasbourg. Hence why you and Barnes are the only other two agents qualified for the job.” Fury tapped the table causing a projection to appear in the center of the table.

“L/N, meet Emilia Carver otherwise known as “The Eye”...she sees everything and is one of the most elusive ghosts in Europe.” The projection showed a lady of similarity to Y/N, of course there were a few things off about the two but for the most part they could have been related. Clicking the next slide it showed the same girl lying on the ground in some room.

“Last week Barnes and Barton found her dead in bunker just off the coast of Naples, you will go in her place with the Winter Soldier to secure a package.” he clicked the slide showing a man “This is Nathan Lark, we have reason to believe that he holds sensitive information about the inner working of our black-ops team and their current locations and targets, secure the package and then the missions over”

“That's all great Fury, but how long? Because I made plans to go to Disney with the family” Clint glanced up from the file.

“For you and Romanoff, a few weeks. You’ll just be on stand by working comms and technicalities. For L/N and Barnes, a month at the least.”

Dragging her eyes from the screen over to Bucky they locked eyes for a moment before Y/N spoke “Won’t it look odd, The Eye and the Winter Soldier together?”

“No” Bucky spoke before Fury could “I’ll fill you in on specifics on the way to Strasbourg, but for now…” he swallowed “the two had a shared history…” he looked back down to the file.

A laugh left Clint “Sure if that's what you wanna call it Bucky” looking over to Clint, Y/N furrowed her brows before looking over to Bucky who just shook his head.

“I’ll tell you later”

Y/N just nodded looking over the file once more before letting out a sigh before closing the file.

“When do we leave?”

Looking out the window, Y/N tapped her foot against the floor of the train as she readjusted the sunglasses that had slid down her nose. Her focus shifted from the window to Bucky who had taken up the seat beside her.

The two sat in silence before Y/N spoke first, “So what did you mean, by The Eye and The Winter Soldier have history?” she watched as Bucky avoided her gaze.

A laugh came from the intercom before a groan filled Y/N and Bucky’s ears “What fun conversations always start when you ask an assassin how they know another assassin”

Resting his head against the steering wheel, Bob let out a sigh. He’d been sitting in the driveway for 5 minutes now heavily debating if he wanted to go in or spend the night in his truck. Eventually deciding that messing up his back wouldn’t be in his best interest he exited the vehicle and grabbed his duffle bag from the backseat. Fishing his keys out of his pocket as he approached the door, he unlocked it and made his way inside.

Dropping the duffle on the floor he slipped off his boots, not bothering to untie them before he looked around the house and spotted Y/N lounging on the couch, reading.

Shuffling over to the back of the couch, he paused for a moment to decide if he wanted to take the extra time to walk all the way around or if he wanted to make life easy. So going for the obvious choice he swung one leg over the back of the couch, then the other, before he was planted right next to Y/N.

He didn’t even give her the chance to ask how his day was before he sprawled himself out on the couch, burying his face into her waist as his arms wrapped around her form. He felt Y/N set her book down before her hands were rubbing his back.

“Baby….my hair…” he mumbled

Y/N raised her brow “Hmm?”

He nuzzled his face further into her waist “Your hands… in my hair” Y/N let out a humm finally understanding what he ment, her hands traveled from Bob’s back and started tangling themselves in the hair at the base of Bob’s neck.

The WSO let out a sigh as he felt Y/N’s fingertips massage his scalp.

“Do you wanna talk about it?” Y/N’s voice rang out as she shifted herself into a more comfy position… well as comfy as she could get with Bob on top of her.

“Jake can ahdfmg” he mumbled out.

“He can do what?” she chuckled

“Jake can fuck off” he moved so the side of his head was resting against her abdomen, “he fucked with Phoenix and I durring all of the training, which resulted in the three of us having to do three sets of 200 pushups, and one dead hang for 10 minutes… my arms feel like they’re gonna fall off my body”

“Aw Bobby” Y/N leaned down to kiss the top of Bob’s head “...Do you want me to start the shower for you?”

Bob shook his head “Can we take a bath?” Y/N nodded, sitting up from his spot, Bob pulled Y/N up with him, his arms once again finding their place around her waist as she led them upstairs.

Sitting on the edge of the bathtub Bob grabbed Y/N to place her on top of his lap as she turned on the faucet, feeling the water to make sure it was warm before letting it fill the tub.

“Can you put this in it?” Bob hummed, reaching over to grab a bath oil that rested on the sink counter. Y/N nodded, taking it from his hands to add to the tub.

“Do you want bubbles too?” she paused before she felt something lightly touch her shoulder, looking over she grabbed the tube of shower gel from Bob, she looked at it and chuckled “oh so it’s a grapefruit and honey type of bath” she laughed and added the gel to the water.

Once the oil and bubbles were added to the water, Y/N and Bob stripped down before Bob sank into the warm water first, once settled he let Y/N sink down before pulling her to his chest. “Thank you… for this” he hummed.

“Anything for you baby” she rested her head back onto his shoulder, giving him a soft smile.

Y/N’s heart pounded in her chest as she ran from the parking lot into the entrance of the hospital, eye’s dashing around for some familiar face.

In the two years of dating Y/N knew that there would always be risks when dating Bob, but they never fully thought about it… until reality had caught up with them.

Her breath caught in her throat as she locked eyes with Rooster, before she racked her eyes over the rest of the team as they all sat in the waiting area. Standing from his seat Rooster made his way over to Y/N, pulling her into a hug.

Thoughts flooded Y/N’s head as she hugged him, and that's when her senses caught up with her as she took in Rooster’s words “Maverick’s talking with the doctors right now… we don’t really know anything”

Y/N just nodded, pulling back “Where’s Natasha?” Rooster motioned to the corner of the waiting room, where Phoenix was slumped in her chair, one arm crossed over her form as the other rested against it, covering her face as her leg bounced against the floor.

Quietly Y/N made her way over to the pilot, kneeling down in front of her, Y/N placed a hand on Phoenix’s knee, causing it to stop bouncing as she looked up.

Y/N’s eyes softened taking in Natasha’s state. Her eyes were red, hair askew, and Y/N noticed how the palms of her hands were indented with the crescent shape of her nails. Leaning forward, Y/N pulled her into a hug as the pilot let out a rigid sob, arms wrapping around Y/N’s form “I-... I don’t know what happened” she mumbled into Y/N’s shoulder.

The damn that had been holding back the tears and emotions finally broke in Y/N as she hugged Phoenix tighter. The two, not uttering a word as the rest of the team just watched, unsure what to do.

It took a few moments for the two women to regain their senses before Y/N sat next to Natasha and rested her head on her shoulder, as everyone else moved to sit closer to them.

“What happened?” Y/N finally managed to ask after a few minutes, as she sat up, her voice was quite as if something would break if she spoke any louder.

She felt Phoenix stiffen a bit at the question before she cleared her throat “It was supposed to be a simple training day…” she swallowed what little spit was left in her dry mouth “We were just gonna be practicing a flight path and ther-” her voice caught in her throat, her thoughts raced as she tried to find the word but everything just mushed together.

“We were flying when Phoenix caught some turbulence” Hangman continued, seeing how Phoenix struggled, he took her hand in his and gave it a light squeeze “They tried to level out, but it blew out the controls… and one of the engines.” he continued

“I thought-” Natasha started again, taking a breath “I hit the canopy button… but the latch got stuck… and then Bob’s seat-” tears started to make their way down her cheeks, she lifted her hands up to hide her face “I’m so sorry Y/N” she mumbled.

Standing from her seat Y/N walked from the group and out the entrance, she paced not knowing what else to do, not noticing how Rooster had gotten up to follow her.

“Y/N” he called out to her “Y/N, you’re gonna make yourself sick” he grabbed her arm “Will you just take a breath? Please? I know you’re worried but if you worry yourself sick, it’s not gonna do anyone any good”

“What am I supposed to do then Rooster?” she snapped tears coming to her eyes once again “I….I don’t know how all of you can just sit in there and do fucking nothing!” she raised her voice “god I would love to just sit and do nothing but I-... I-” as she tried to finish her sentence her body began to shake, Rooster pulled her into another hug “I still have so many things I have to tell him… things I wanna do with him…. I can’t-.... I can’t lose him” she sobbed into his chest.

The two stood in silence before the heard the door to the entrance open, “Captain’s back” Coyote’s voice filled the air before the door closed again.

Pulling away from each other, Y/N wiped away the tear stains on her cheeks, taking a few breaths.

“Are you gonna be okay?” Bradley placed a hand on her shoulder. She nodded, wrapping her arms around herself as they made their way back into the waiting area. Moving back over to the team, Y/N took her place beside Phoenix, locking her arm with hers, giving her an apologetic look for leaving as she did moments before. To which Natasha just nodded before the two turned their attention to Maverick, who shot the two women a sad smile, before turning back to the majority of the team.

“Bob’s still in surgery, all the guy could tell me was that he had a brain bleed from the impact of the canopy and he’s having a craniotomy… they said it's gonna be another 2 or 3 hours. So if you all want to stay feel free, but if you want to go home and get some rest I understand. Admiral Simpson has granted everyone here time off for the week, and I will be staying and giving updates out to those who choose to go home” with that Maverick turned to hunker down in a chair.

Out of the whole team Y/N, Phoenix, Hangman, and Rooster had opted to stay with Maverick. As the time passed the team found themselves coping in any way they could.

Pete had taken to drawing small scribbles onto a notepad that he had found in the waiting area, trying to forget that the last time he was a part of an injury this bad was with Goose.

Y/N found herself biting and tugging at her nails, it wasn’t supper bad at first till she let out a sight hiss as she pulled at a hangnail.
