hey, guys. I've held off on tagging because of the difficulty of en-masse tagging on mobile vs desktop (where i make most of my posts), but i figured it's about time to update you all

faerie's dawn is unfortunately going to have its return delayed further. on tuesday, I broke my ankle on the way to a café to work on writing. i got surgery yesterday (wednesday) and am thankfully in much less pain now though that's probably in good part due to painkillers lol.

still, i need to keep my ankle elevated to help it heal quicker. that—as well as all the pain meds i'm on, most likely—makes it next to impossible for me to write and further my progress on faerie's dawn. so, as much as i hate to break this news, i'm going to have to push back the return of faerie's dawn yet again.

if you'd like to support me, i have a gofundme where you can do so. similarly, i'm going to keep that much more updated on the progression of my recovery. not only is it much easier to update on there, but my low energy levels don't make it easy for me to update across multiple platforms.

Thinking about Luo Wenzhou, Fei Du, and what smoking of all things shows about their relationship.

Their early days confrontational dynamic involved a lot of Fei Du deliberately choosing to irritate/provoke Luo Wenzhou in various ways. Luo Wenzhou would generally fall into the provocation, though as their relationship became more cordial he would vacillate between being overly accommodating and presuming Fei Du was entirely lying to piss him off (e.g. when he thinks Fei Du could be lying about having issues with blood).

So, fairly early on, you get this exchange where Fei Du says he doesn't like Luo Wenzhou smoking and so Luo Wenzhou, despite not being particularly happy about it, still puts away the cigarette. (LWZ makes a point of asking strangers prior to this if they mind him smoking, so this is fairly in line with his previous behaviour. If someone says outright they have an issue, he'll stop.)

Anyway, after they start to get on a bit better, Fei Du chooses to "admit" he was just saying he minded Luo Wenzhou smoking to troll him. And Luo Wenzhou, who'd given him the benefit of a doubt previously, who'd gone out of his way to accommodate Fei Du's issues with blood, takes that admission at face value.

Fei Du doesn't comment any further on Luo Wenzhou smoking after this.

Skip ahead to book five though, and it turns out that, as with most things Fei Du, that "admission" was not a straightforward truth. More likely, it was a technical truth at best, because whilst Fei Du did very much want to needle Luo Wenzhou, it turns out that smoking indoors? He hates it. (Relatable)

And the thing that gets me the most about the above is that Luo Wenzhou is stressed here, fully chainsmoking, enough that Lu Jia feels the need to comment. But he still intends to keep smoking after Lu Jia's first comment. He's passed the level of stressed where his basic politeness would have him stop.

And yet stop he does only a couple of paragraphs later when he learns that Fei Du does genuinely hate the smoking. That Fei Du had skirted around that truth, admitted it in a sideways manner then backed down to make peace. It was easier for Fei Du to pretend he wanted to irritate Luo Wenzhou and there was nothing else to it than to admit that he was genuinely bothered. To do so would mean to admit he had an actual issue and risk the peace they'd just started to broach back then. And Luo Wenzhou had just taken him at his word, still halfway to learning how to read him.

So, with no Fei Du present, Luo Wenzhou puts the cigarette away.

He doesn't fully stop smoking after this, but he seems to generally tone it down and he never smokes again in Fei Du's presence (unless there's something I'm forgetting here)

And finally, with Luo Wenzhou aware and Fei Du unaware that Luo Wenzhou knows, we hit this scene:

Fei Du is not only not commenting on the smoking; he's there offering Luo Wenzhou a lighter. Fei Du himself doesn't smoke. His mother was the only one in the family to do so. And it's hard to think of why he would naturally carry a lighter, given his overall lifestyle. The implication seems to be that he found the lighter specifically for Luo Wenzhou.

Fei Du offers the lighter, despite hating smoking. He recognises it's Luo Wenzhou's choice and he would rather play down his own discomfort.

Luo Wenzhou, in turn, puts away the cigarette. He may be stressed and thoroughly addicted to smoking, but he refuses to let Fei Du silently torment himself any longer.

Ok so. Light spoiler. Rereading the English translated CFYOW novels is the funniest fucking thing. One such part of these is in book two. Tsukishima and Ginjo have the pleasure of dealing with Grimmjow attacking them despite Tsukishima's use of Book of the End on Grimmjow. (he has to cut the victim with his bookmark to add himself to their past) We, the reader, get the pleasure of reading: 'did you insert yourself?' (Ginjo) *violent Grimmjow noises* *confusion* 'I'm sure I inserted myself' (Tsukishima) *more violent Grimmjow noises*. Papercut unhelpful!!! Guys I'm dying.

Maybe Grimmjow is so aggressive because you tried inserting yourself? WHO JUST RANDOMLY TRIES TO INSERT THEMSELF...INTO GRIMMJOW FUCKING JAEGERJAQUEZ?! (without expecting to die???) GUYS. I'M SHEDDING TEARS. AT LEAST BUY THE MAN DINNER FIRST. T3T

Why didn't that work?: Grimmjow's primal urges > papercut (technically Grimmjow did designate them as worthy prey because the 'papercut' went through his hierro...shit actually sounds like the devilspawn that are cardboard cuts. brutal...)

I dunno why but I’ve got crazy baby fever rn and I wanna be pregnant with Erik Campbell’s baby. In an no death AU cause I just think that whole family would be so cute when welcoming a new member into the world.

I just really think Erik would be scared to be a dad but super, duper attentive as a partner if you were pregnant with his kid. He’s already really protective of you but like the protectiveness goes up to 11 once you’re carrying his kid.

Also ahhh! Erik making a special playlist for the baby while it’s inside you. Cause it’s good for a baby to listen to music. It’s somehow a mix of classical songs he looked up for “baby classical music” and his favorite emo songs.

My biggest sin as a tloz fan is that I don't really like the "original hero" concept from the hyrule historia manga. SkSw!Link did NOTTT undergo all those dumb ass trials to strengthen and mold his spirit only to apparently already HAVE the hero's spirit as a second reincarnation. He went through the trials, he's the original Link, and I will not be taking questions.

The concept of Hylia and the Fierce Deity -- honestly anything to do with the Fierce Deity I will entertain, however.
