Fluff Alphabet-Sapnap
A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about the other?)
He likes your humor. He likes your beauty. He loves everything about you. Mostly, though, he loves your kindness. You are just so nice to him. You hold him, whisper sweet things to him, and make him feel like its all alright.
B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?)
He definitely wants a family, obviously not anytime soon though. He believes that he’d be a good father and that you’d be a good parent as well. He doesn’t tell you this, but sometimes he dreams about having a child, their little hands and feet. He goes through baby fever like every two months.
C = Cuddle (How do they cuddle?)
He prefers to hold you most of the time, it makes him feel like he’s protecting you. He will spoon you most nights or hold your head to his chest and wrap his other arm around your body. Sometimes tho he lets you lay on top of him and just sleep. He likes your weight on him, thin or not.
D = Dates (What are dates with them like?)
i assume they'd be chill or more just hangouts. Like going to an arcade or an escape room. If it was a special occasion, birthday or anniversary, he’d take you to a fancy restaurant. He’d hate getting dressed up and eating food that isn’t worth the money, but he’d do it forever if it meant he got to see you happy.
E = Everything (You are my ____ (e.g. my life, my world…))
My lifeline. You make his world turn and his heart keep beating. Everything he does is for you (In a non weird obsession way) he just wants you to be happy
F = Feelings (When did they know they were in love?)
He knew he was in love when you showed up at his house to hold him after he sounded upset on a call. that's it, no questions asked, you were just there.
G = Gentle (Are they gentle? If so, how?)
He’s so gentle it’s almost infuriating to you because sometimes he wont even touch you. Like when y’all first started dating, he wouldn't hold your hand because he didn’t want to squeeze to much. He wouldn’t cuddle you because he didn’t want to suffocate you. He treats you like a doll
H = Hands (How do they like to hold hands?)
after he got over the hand holding fear stated previously, he holds your hand tightly, almost afraid to let go. He holds your hand whenever he can: in the store, in bed, on walks, in the car, on dates. He always has his hand in yours.
I = Impression (What was their first impression?)
His first impression of you was probably about your appearance. He’s only a 20 okay so he probably looked at your butt or chest first. Obviously when he actually talked to you, he would realize you were funny and nice. But yeah, purely physical at first.
J = Jealousy (Do they get jealous?)
omfg yes. He gets so jealous. Sapnap’s not the kind of bf to get like toxic or rude when jealous tho. He just gets insecure and sad.
K = Kiss (How do they kiss? Who initiated the first kiss?)
You kissed him first, he was way too nervous to make the first move. He kisses you softly and with his hands on your cheeks. He loves holding you when you kiss, holding you close. Once Y’all are more comfortable with each other he may even put his hand on your neck while kissing you. It makes him all giddy.
L = Love (Who says ‘I love you’ first?)
He would say it first, on accident. probably after being intimate and having you on his chest. Too lost in his mind, it just comes out.
“I love you”
“What?”
It scared both of you at first but then you smile and cuddled closer. It didn’t matter to him if you said it back right then or not, he knew you cared for him.
M = Memory (What’s their favourite memory together?)
When you guys stayed in on your 6 month anniversary. The plan was to go out and eat at this super fancy place but you guys missed the reservation. Instead of being sad, you guys stayed home and watched a bunch if princess movies and cuddled. It was sweet and the first time y’all actually just hung out.
N = Nickel (Do they spoil? Do they buy the person they love everything?)
He doesn’t spoil you too much actually. He knows you can buy your own stuff and doesn’t try to take over if you don't ask him too. BUT on special occasions you are getting everything you even look at. he once dropped about 2,000 dollars on jewelry as a gift on your birthday.
O = Orange (What colour reminds them of their other half?)
Pastel yellow. Its a color of friendship and trust, which is what your relationship is built on.
P = Pet names (What pet names do they use?)
He uses the usual babe a lot, i cant see him using darling im sorry. He also 100% uses baby and sweetheart. Honey is also used. But mostly he would use variations of your name.
Q = Quaint (What is their favourite non-modern thing?)
He likes castles and royalty. Obviously there is still queens and stuff but he loves the whole castle fantasy. He thinks about being a knight in shining armor to save you.
R = Rainy Day (What do they like to do on a rainy day?)
He uses this as an excuse to stay in bed and cuddle. Like that’s all he would want to do. No food, no responsibilities, just snuggling.
S = Sad (How do they cheer themselves/others up?)
When he was single he would just sleep or eat. We’ve all been there and there's nothing wrong with it. But now that he has you he would rant to you or cry. If you were upset he would listen to any and all problems you had without comment. He would just be there for what ever you needed.
T = Talking (What do they like to talk about?)
he talks about school, his family, his friends, and a shit ton of random Minecraft. Even if you got sick of it, you stick around bc he’s cute when passionate.
U = Unencumbered (What helps them relax?)
in the most respectful way, he likes to have sex. it makes him happy and calms him down. Obviously if you weren’t feeling it, he wouldn’t make you and would go for just kisses and cuddles, also watching Moana bc he loves that movie.
V = Vaunt (What do they like to show off? What are they proud of?)
he shows off his set up and shoes. He splurges on those things and will be damned if the whole world doesn't know.
W = Wedding (When, how, where do they propose?)
He wouldn't propose for a while and surely not until y’all are both out of college and stuff but when he does its a whole thing. He takes you to a beach saying something like, “I heard the boardwalk food is amazing” or something like that. He would probably invite dream along to record and also being there for the biggest moment of his life. Obviously, you say yes and its so cute.
X = Xylophone (What’s their song?)
(I’m sorry about this one I’m not a big music person)
"I'm Gonna Love You Through It" by Martina McBride is what i picked bc he would always be there no matter what, he just loves so much
Y = Yikes (Do they ever mess up in the relationship?)
Sapnap has made many many mistakes. He can be rude sometimes without even realizing it, he can spend more time with George than you, he can ignore you for a week for something petty. Thankfully, he comes to his senses after a while and talks to you about it. He tries to be as good as he can and communicate to you but he’s not perfect.
Z = Zebra (If they wanted a pet, what would they get?)
oml he would beg you for a dog everyday! he just wants a German Shepard named Bently is that too much to ask?

Period Pains (Atsumu, Akaashi, Sugawara)
Periods. Suck. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. But maybe they can make it suck less.
A/N: Y’all can probably guess how my week has been :D. So this is mostly self indulgent and has definitely made me fall in love with all these boys much more. I may or may not stan Miya Atsumu now but we don’t talk about it (yet)
Warnings: None really! Fluffy and domestic wholesomeness. Post-timeskip.
Miya Atsumu
Atsumu starts to stir from his sleep when he hears a loud prolonged groan next to him.
He presses his eyes closed when the lights suddenly turn on. Ugh.
He opens his eyes to see you waddling away to the bathroom with your hand pressed to your stomach. Hmm?
He looks down and sees a relatively large splotch of red staining the sheet. HAH!
Suddenly, Atsumu is very alert.
“Babe what happened! Did you get hurt?”
Mans throws (I mean THROWS) himself out of bed and pulls a pair of shorts on as he stumbles to the bathroom to check on you.
“Baby are you-”
He sees you by the sink, washing your shorts, the water discolored as it runs off.
Ohhhh yeah! You were on your period.
Headass’s mind blanked while in a sleepy haze.
You sigh. “Yeah I’m… fine-ish. I guess.”
He smirks and comes up behind you, wrapping his hands around your waist, one hand gently rubbing over your long sleep shirt, right over your lower belly.
He presses a slow kiss into the side of your head and rocks you side to side while you continue to wash.
“Did ya wake up cuz of the pain, babe?”
“Mhm. And I saw the stain then too. Ain’t my luck just great?”
He groggily laughs and presses more kisses along the side of your face and holds you tighter.
“You got this, babe. I’ll bring the sheets here, yeah?”
“Kay.”
This, in its own way, is enough to make you feel… less bad.
You were far from feeling okay at this point, but Atsumu knowing the drill and nonchalantly helping out at 2 am made things feel less apocalyptic than they were in your head..
Atsumu strips the bed of all its sheets, rubbing his eyes as he tries to keep awake.
Handing the sheet to you, he leans against the wall as you washed out the immediate blood stains.
Once you wash it out, he takes it from you.
“Clean yerself up babe.”
He takes the sheets downstairs and throws them into the washing machine.
He goes to the kitchen and grabs a banana and some dark chocolate (because we healthy in this household).
And some ibuprofen from the medicine cabinet.
And runs back up to find you coming with new sheets in hand.
Putting your snacks down on your bedside table, he helps you pull the fresh sheets over your bed.
Sitting you on the bed, he hands you the food and sits next to you, leaning his head on your shoulder while you munch.
He gives you the medicine when you’re done.
“30 minutes- not bad. I think that’s our new record.”
He shuts off the lights and crawls into bed, opening his arms as you slide your legs under the comforter.
Snuggling into him, he nuzzles your forehead as he holds you close.
“Feelin better, babe?”
“Yeah… I’ll probably fall asleep in a bit or something.”
“Well, if ya wanna press up against me if that’ll make you feel better, ya can. And wake me up if ya need anything.”
“I will, Atsumu. Thanks.”
“G’nite, sweetheart.”
BONUS: you wake up late the next morning, Atsumu still holding you flush against his body.
Now that you slept well (thanks to the meds and Atsumu) and woke up without pain, you’re suddenly in a very affectionate mood.
Wiggling up, you find your way to Atsumu’s face, giving him a couple of soft pecks to his lips.
He stirs in his sleep, kissing you back.
But even after you had pulled away, he kept kissing at the air, trying to find your lips in his sleepy haze.
It was pretty funny.
He’s a headass, you’re not gonna lie.
But he’s your headass! And that’s all that matters.
Akaashi Keiji
Before even coming home, Akaashi knew you were going to be on your period today.
Your period tracking app was synced to his phone, so he knew when to prepare for your worst days with snacks, supplies, and lots of affection.
He hated how busy he was, that he couldn’t be home to take care of you. So making sure you had everything you needed was the best he could do.
But when Akaashi comes home and can’t find you anywhere, he starts to worry.
Where were you? You would usually always greet him when he came home, even when you were on your period.
He gets his answer when he hears sniffles and hiccups coming underneath the lump of blankets on the couch.
Akaashi knows that if you were ever fully underneath the blankets, there was something really wrong.
Taking his jacket off and throwing it over a chair in the kitchen, he rushes to your side and pulls the blankets delicately off your head.
“What’s wrong, darling.”
“H-hi Keiji. I’m s-sorry I didn’t m-mean to *hic* hide from you I j-just don’t feel too g-good.”
Your breath was so shaky and Akaashi’s heart shattered watching you.
“Please, tell me what’s wrong, dear.” Akaashi asks you in a whisper.
“My tummy just hurts so so much and it won’t go away I-” your sobs begin to rack through your whole body.
“Did you take medicine? Heating pad?” He asks gently as he runs his hands through your hair and wipes the tears off your face.
“N-no… I hate taking medicine Keiji you know that. But I took a hot shower and I hoped it would help and it didn’t.” You attempt to stifle your cries to talk coherently, misery wrapping around your soul.
“Alright then, give me a second, darling, and I’ll do whatever I can.”
After changing, Akaashi comes back downstairs to the couch and makes his way over to you.
He pats your head gently, “can you sit up for me?”
He swings his legs up onto the couch and opens his arms and legs so you could place yourself between all his limbs.
Crawling up to him, he turns you so that your back is pressed to his torso.
Immediately, Akaashi’s hands snake around your waist and find their way to two sides of your lower stomach.
His fingers gently message you, moving around to try and find which spots need his attention, all while he coaxes you into being relaxed.
“Shhh darling, you’re okay. I’m here and I’m going to shower you with my love. Just relax and let me take care of you, okay dearest?”
You nuzzle back against his chest, letting his words, touch, warmth, and smell fill all your senses.
“Keiji… how was your day?” You murmur, tilting your head back in an effort to look at him.
He smiles, warmth spreading through his body as he realizes even while in pain, you still want to carry on your daily check-in on him post work.
And so Akaashi tells you all the stories from the day- his new assignment, how panicked he got midday when the office went into crisis, a surprise visit from a certain owl during lunch time.
You listen attentively, but your hands subconsciously move his larger hands to the center of your lower abdomen, where he starts to gently rub, leaving your skin tingly and chest lighter.
“Do you feel better, Y/N?” after sitting in comfortable silence for a little, he decides to ask.
But when he got no response, he cranes his neck to check on you.
You had fallen asleep in his embrace, a sweet smile slowly creeping across your face.
He smiles too, overjoyed to know that he was able to relieve you of some of your pain.
“Goodnight, my love.” He whispers to you, his eyes slowly shutting, arms still on your stomach.
BONUS: at around 2 am, Akaashi wakes up, realizing he was still on the couch.
You, however, were nowhere to be seen.
Getting up, Akaashi heads to the kitchen to grab water, assuming you were already in bed.
Instead, he found you in the kitchen too, the smell of pancakes flooding the space.
“Keiji! We never ate dinner. I’m sorry I made you fall asleep without eating.”
A small smile appears on his face and he rubs his sleepy eyes.
“It’s okay, dear. I’m just glad you could sleep some.”
“Do you want pancakes?”
“I would love some.”
Sugawara Koushi
Like Akaashi, Suga knew what was about to happen when he got a phone call from you as soon as he was leaving school.
Regardless, hearing you sniffle over the phone activates every protective instinct in his body.
“What’s wrong baby?”
“Koushi, do you love me?”
A dumb question, obviously. Suga showered you with affection and endless praise on a daily basis for you simply just breathing. The most supportive of boyfriends!
But alas, insecurity still creeps up at times. And Suga gets it.
“I love you more than anything else, Y/N.”
“Can you come home, Koushi? I miss you.”
“I’m on my way, love. Give me 10 extra minutes, okay?”
Suga hopped into his car to head home, stopping by the store to pick up a few things.
He grabbed a pint of your favorite ice cream, your favorite chips (because do you want sweet or savory today? Only time will tell), and some flowers before heading home.
The moment he steps through the door, you throw your hands around him and groan out of frustration, pain, and just general dejectedness (don’t @ me for projecting I swear).
Suga smiles down at you, knowing that he can bring you some peace, and pulls you against him, flowers and bag still in hand.
“Let me go change, my love. These are for you.”
Your generally miserable disposition shifts as your nose is filled with the aroma of fresh flowers. Sweet and gentle scents always managed to lift your spirits, and Suga knew that.
“Mkay.”
Once Suga came downstairs, he headed to the kitchen to warm up some water to pour into a water bottle.
“Sweet or salty?”
“Salty.”
He grabs the warm water bottle and the bag of chips and makes his way over the couch where your eyes were begging him to shower you in love (which he was more than happy to do).
Sitting down and opening his arms, you pull yourself against his side, hugging him tightly and nuzzling against his chest.
He rubs your head before sliding his hand down, soothingly rubbing circles onto your back.
His other hand goes to place the warm water bottle on your lower abdomen, which you hold in place by pulling your legs up to your torso.
“Koushi, why do you love me?” You murmur against him. “I’m so whiny and clingy and annoying and insecure and you’re perfect… you deserve the best. You shouldn’t have to put up with someone like me-”
“Hey.” Suga gently but sternly cuts you off.
“That’s my girlfriend you’re talking about, and I don’t appreciate you talking about her like that.” He looks down at you and melts as he sees your puppy dog eyes staring back up at him.
“Koushi, I’m not wrong though. I am all those things.”
“And? I love you for it. I love that you whine for me and cling to me- it makes me feel wanted. I wouldn’t call you annoying, that's not your call to make. And insecure? That’s natural, my love. Everyone's a little insecure. I’m a little insecure. You’re not perfect and neither am I. And that’s okay. I don’t wanna love perfect. I want to love you and only you, okay?”
Tears prick your eyes but you feel better with Suga’s words of reaffirmation. He’ll tell you no matter how many times you need to hear it. “Thank you Koushi, I love you so much.”
“Shh, my love. Don’t cry. I love you, too.”
His grasp on you tightens as you relax against him, your breathing synchronizing.
“You wanna watch some TV?”
“Yes please.”
“Chips?”
“Mhm.”
Single word exchanges and the warmth of Suga’s sweater keep you connected as you allow yourself to forget your physical and mental pains.
Suga always knew exactly what you needed to hear, and never hesitated to tell you. No matter how ‘out of the blue’ or random it may have felt, he was always there for when you needed him.
BONUS: you guys settle on watching a romance movie, Suga feeding you chips while popping some into his own mouth as well.
But once the movie got to the really sad part, you started crying (sometimes movies just made you cry, but hormones made it so much worse).
“Baby, don’t cry, it’s just a movie.”
“But Koushi, you’re crying too!”
In honesty, Suga’s face was very tear-streaked as well, his sniffles hushed.
“Okay fine, we can both cry together.”
And so you did! Both of you cried, emotions fully invested in the movie, chips still being munched on while sobs shook your bodies.
It would have been a goofy sight to any onlookers, but it was the pinnacle of your relationship- emotionally vulnerable, intimate, and domestic. True perfection, if you were to ask me.

Omg thank you for opening the prompts and giving lists. If you have the time and inspiration how about from the Prompt sentence list #54 “They’re not your kids, back the fuck off”. Thank you again for taking prompt requests!!!!!
So, because you didn’t specify which character you wanted, I went on ahead and picked Jason. Prepare yourself, this turned into a somewhat cracky, heartwarming fic about Jason putting his foot in his mouth. Reader is in her very early 20s. Not six months out of 19, actually.
This request is a winner, man. I had a much wittier and affectionate intro up here before tumblr let me down so hard and lost my draft. Now we’ve got this awkward paragraph…
Tag List: @nxttime, @possiblyelven, @lovelywally, @thepuckishrogue (If you want to be tagged, let me know by dropping an ask or shooting me a message! For more Batfam, check out my masterlist.)
This is it.
Finally the day your retail-ravaged soul, along with your psyche, snaps like one of those piddly rubberbands on cheap produce.
“Goddammit lady,” you snarl, slamming your palms down on the cash wrap with a meaty smack. “This is the seventh time I’ve had to ask you to keep your filthy little goblins away from my merchandise!”
Embracing the inevitability of unemployment upon the horizon, you carry on. The words coming out of your mouth are spoken in the low, graveled tone most often associated with violent animals or an emissary of Satan. “Has your daughter ever seen a tissue? Or maybe a garbage can? And that is the fourth necklace he’s broken.” You jab a finger at the accused child, prowling around the register. “The fourth! Your children are terrible.”
The little boy, probably around four years old, stands stock still with widening eyes and a face going pink with the flush of tears. It’s strange to see him so still after witnessing the boy tear through your store like a methhead on payday. He’s a cute enough kid, even with some tears spilling and the remnants of a PB&J smeared all over his cheeks as well as his marauding fingers.
Tattered remains of delicate costume jewelry litter the display in front of him, and you don’t even want to think about how much of that child’s sandwich transferred from his grubby lil’ mitts to the stupidly expensive product throughout the store.
The woman’s daughter (you’re not sure how old, but over six) shrinks from your stormy approach. She dodges away from the denim table where she shoved the wad of stale gum (or the proverbial straw, in this case) you’d seen her spit into her hand moments before (so, hopefully just one $90 pair of jeans you now have to damage). The girl hides back behind her gaping mother as though you’re brandishing a pistol instead of three years’ worth of rage.
The mother, a comfortably wealthy middle-aged blonde woman, looks to be the very stereotype of pushy, ungrateful, baby-boomed self importance. She is so utterly shocked by your hateful outburst that nary a peep escapes her open mouth.
What?
A salesgirl?
Speaking so rudely even after being treated with nothing but disregard and condescension for two whole hours?
Outrageous!
Ha. She’s not half as shocked as your boss is going to be when you throw up a double bird and back flip outta’ this bitch the very moment she wanders in for shift change.
“Get some control over your spawn, make your selections, and get the hell out of my store.” You go in for the kill while the mother is still silent, absolutely fuming. “And here’s a tip, bitch: If you’re not going to teach your children any manners and you can’t find them a sitter, don’t go shop in a specialty boutique!”
Your voice goes shrill as your volume ticks up at the last, and so you are brutally unprepared when an incredulous voice of a significantly lower cadence calls you out.
“Jesus, bitch…”
You spin on your heel, ready to relish taking a piece out of another customer. Unfortunately, in your anger, you don’t recognize that the additional voice belongs to a guy.
A big guy.
A huge, pissed off guy.
“C’mon, Jason.” You identify the face of a redheaded regular grimacing just behind him. She half-halfheartedly attempts to snag his elbow and pull him away. "Don’t engage. Please, don't engage?"
“Nah, shuddap Babs!” he spits over his shoulder. His attention returns to you. “Moms need pants too, ya’ know. They’re not your kids; that means not your business, first of all, and not you goddamn problem after they leave the store. So why don’t you just back the fuck off?”
You are very embarrassed by your reaction to his interference. As suddenly as your anger possessed you, an overwhelming wave of anxiety and stress boils up in your lungs. It claws its way out of your throat and starts pouring from your eyes in a matter of seconds.
“But it is my problem!” you sob, tears of frustration streaming down your face. “My associate number gets flagged for every item I damage. My record is penalized for not taking care of the merchandise when I’m not even technically allowed to ask people to stop breaking things. My commissions bonus is in jeopardy based upon the items I damage, no matter how many sales I make!”
The man blinks down at you as though you’ve started speaking in tongues. He takes a clumsy step away from you, and the redhead sighs with the sort of perpetual exhaustion known only by elder sisters. You hear the door chime signifying the hasty departure of the blonde mom and her rotten kids.
“Oh, and I’m aware!” you continue. “I'm very aware that mothers need pants, you ass. I am a mother.”
If the guy paled when you started crying, he goes absolutely pallid as the pitiful truths of your sad life rush, unbidden, from your tongue.
“My daughter is 18 months old, and I work in this shitty store for shitty pay so that I have food for her dinner and hot water for her baths. All I do is work! My grandma is raising my kid, and I haven’t bought a pair of jeans for myself since I was in high school! A full eight hour shift in this hell-mouth of spoiled, snobby, rich bitches dropping over a thousand dollars on fucking baubles doesn’t even cover one single pair of jeans from that table! Even as a manager, the employee discount doesn’t make owning a stitch of this clothing feasible.”
You take a few breaths to gather yourself. The guy’s face is a mask of social horror, and the features of the woman behind him fell into impassivity about the time you brought up sales and damages.
“You know what though,” you say, speaking in a surprisingly perky, conversational tone as you wipe your running nose on your sleeve and the last wavering trills of your bawling work their way out. “When I run errands, Gram Mary watches Rosie. ‘Cuz I know better.”

Words with Sadiva
Tumblr media
Photography by Kim Summer
SADIVA is the premise of our following words, a female beatsmith hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the soul of female comradeship, and the essence of Australian Boom Bap - SADIVA, is inspiring fellow female creatives and is not only sewing but intertwining creative relationships between both male and female.
This only seems to inspire beat-makers to continue to arise in confidence and support all over the globe and SADIVA is continually pushing this atmosphere, something we here at beatsfortheill completely embrace.
Curating over the years, some of the best musical treats with the release of her Compilations "Women of the World" Volumes 1 and 2. With appreciation, these releases mean,
SADIVA allows anyone to have a master's ear.
It also must be said that this Melbourne local can have all heads bopping to samples that linger for days, with soothed souls and a conscious understanding -  SADIVAS' WoW compilations have helped a lot of women in need, which brings with it, a certain sense of honesty,  something SADIVA'S personal catalog, in all its calming abilities captures minute by minute.
Developing her craft at home and beyond, whilst establishing a name for herself through her time stilling numbers on Lethal Chops back in 2017. This girl shares, with her music, art nothing short of a beachside sunset or a wine on the riverside.

Thanks for that, so I'd like to start by asking, what got you into producing music in the first place? Was it a solo finding or were you encouraged by others to give it a go?
I feel deeply in love with classic Hip-Hop when I started working at a shoe store and, this was where I discovered J Dilla and his story which blew my mind and inspired the shit out of me.
I was also hanging out with some friends who had tried the art of beat-making so I got intrigued, to say the least.
Why the name SADIVA? And what does it mean to you?
SADIVA just clicked for me. I was smoking weed in my room whilst making beats and, I was like,
“okay, I have to come up with some sort of name for this project”
and I love the strain SATIVA so I thought I’d just wordplay it with diva.
How long have you been producing? Also, what is some of the attributes you find producing helps you strengthen within yourself that you find other avenues don't cover?
I have been producing for about 5 years now, I have been very unmotivated lately just due to my own reason.
I always like to have a smoke and a session to find my samples and then I like to sit and get down to the nitty-gritty.
Lately, I’ve been experimenting with a lot of different samplers and sythn’s just to get an idea of expanding my sound, it’s so interesting.
There’s so much I really don’t cover but DJing is helping me to understand a lot of genres of music that I thought I hated but I love them, which is making me expand more.
What inspires you to continue making beats?
I just love making music, its therapy for me.
Being able to go around the world and meet the scene too has been a
truly special molding for my 20’s and I’m blessed I’ve had these experiences,
I’d be silly to stop cause I’m really living my dream and that’s what keeps me going.
Let us go back to 2017 and discuss what's responsible for the creation of Lethal Chops? What pictures were you trying to paint with the tracklist? And also what was it like putting Lethal Chops together?
At this point I had been writing solidly for 2 years with only a few beats on compilations and SoundCloud, I had always wanted to put an album out cause I was proud of my work and after my trip to NYC in 2015/16
I met Soul Journal (one of my best friends) and he pushed for me to release something and did the masters and truly helped me with the whole process of the tracklist so he deserves a huge shout out cause without him who knows if I would have released anything.

Not much over a year later you released "Minutes" on Vinyl, through Inner Ocean Records.
A masterpiece of works that let everyone know you are here to stay. Somewhat like another Melbourne producer - Amin Payne, who nearly went on hiatus, but I believe he was someone like yourself who was drawn in by a mutual love to create, perpetuating goodness and works of art.
Thanks for this, Minutes is something you want to listen to for prolonged hours so again thank you.
What were the major differences between putting together Lethal Chops and Minutes? Also, how do you feel you had grown as an artist when releasing Minutes? Finally, what atmosphere were you trying to put together for your listeners with this second album release?
Thank you so much for saying that, I couldn’t be happier knowing that’s how you feel about a piece of my work. The major difference I guess was I had a bit of an idea of how I pictured Minutes and it had a bit more time and meaning go into the project.
With lethal chops, I just wanted to release something as I had been making so many beats at that point in time.
Minutes was very break up heavy also, I was heartbroken when finishing minutes, and a lot of last-minute tracks got added cause they just felt so much for me.
Plus, I just wanted to put something together that I was proud of and that people would find interesting, I wanted to make it like watching a film with your ears if that makes sense?
"Minutes" as said before, was made available on vinyl as previously Lethal Chops on Cassette. What is it about putting together and releasing physicals that you love most? Also, did Inner Ocean Record impact your appreciation for physical releases?
Physicals have always been really important to me, I’ve always collected cassettes, CDs, vinyl since I was young so to have something that was my own on vinyl was insane for me, I cried the day it arrived cause it was such a great achievement for me.
Do you have a close relationship with the artists that create your cover art and videos?
If so what allows that relationship to stay solid?
Ps, blessed stuff by the way.
Zomkashwak, STLNDRMS, and Lily.ingram (EN:recent name change) know what is up!
I have definitely got some amazing connections with the artists I work with, Lily was my housemate for a few years and we became close friends through that and I couldn’t have been anymore over the moon than to have her amazing work featured as apart of the WOW series, plus she’s an incredible woman I look up to.
As for Zomkashwak and STLMDRMS we became friends through artist nature and sharing the same love and passion’s, Zom did that album cover for Minutes and it was like he saw what was going on in my brain.
When I met STLNDRMS in Atlanta he hosted me for Controllerise and just showed me the most wholesome hospitality, I was stoked to be able to work with him on the video for “WIT U” and also do a live set on his channel beats and chill, he’s a huge inspiration not only to me but everyone in this community and to give back as he does is incredible, STLNDRMS is gonna be huge and he deserves it more than anyone in the scene.
I also have many close connections with a lot of the people I work with and I’m blessed to have that network of people.
You work closely with the collective and platform Inner Ocean Records based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada a fair distance from Melbourne, Australia.
What inspired this long-distance relationship between yourself and Inner Ocean and how do you guys keep present?
When I started making beats they were one of the first labels I looked up to, it was a goal of mine to release something with them, I just loved what they were doing for the culture.
I got my first self-released tape manufactured through them and after that, we worked on WOW and Minutes together and Cory and I just had a great bond, I feel honoured to have worked with them so closely for a few years.
Inner Ocean Records, being inspired by their surroundings, (In their own words Calgary "is a city surrounded by hundreds of kilometers of prairies, mountains, and forest") did that connect with you when you decided to link up for projects like "Minutes"?
Also, how do you feel your surroundings in Melbourne impact and inspire the beats you create?
I’d say Minutes was most inspired in New York and Melbourne.
Melbourne and New York both have a gritty feeling with all the graffiti and live music going on everywhere and every time I go to NYC I start writing so much.
I was also going through some heartbreak at the time and a lot of what I was listening to was sampled in the album, a lot of the lyrics just spoke to me and It was curing me.

What environmental factors in your home life bring out the best in your music?
When I’m at home I sit down with a joint, put some nice lighting on and I have a lot of plants in my studio, I need to have a chill environment to start writing and since minutes I’ve moved to a new room in the house, I have been writing so many different genres and it's crazy how a new environment can start sparking something different.
I also wanted to bring up something new to myself [lofi.family] a collective via Facebook and Soundcloud that is dedicated to positive interaction between artists and listeners within the lofi community.
You released two tracks for [lofi.family] "When U Cared" and "Substance" both truly well received. How did this interaction come about and what was it like for you making both these tracks?
Check [lofi.family] out here -
Soundcloud -  https://soundcloud.com/lofifamily
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/lofi.family/
I have been friends with Griff since he started lofi.fam, I was one of the first members in the group and Griff has always just greeted me with open arms,
He asked me for a couple of beats and of course, I had to support what he was doing because he supports everyone, I cant wait to meet that man.
Does either of them hold any personal meaning? As sound-wise, I feel the tracks seem to pull you in opposite directions if you get what I mean? Mellow chords opposed to boom-bap head nods.
Was this intentional?
When I made “When you cared” it was actually a flip I originally did for a 21 savage song, just a bit of fun and then the lofi.fam wanted a track so  I sent that over
And with substance, I said to myself ill make a really lofi sounding song instead of boom-bap and I thought that suited the vibe for Lofi fam ps: LOVE YOU GRRIFF!
I guess it was intentional for lofi.fam but when I made them I didn’t really have a concept.

We have to discuss WoW Volumes 1 and 2 your "Women Of The World" compilations released on cassette followed by vinyl that ever so sweetly showcases over 30 Female Beat-Smiths world-wide, much love.
This creative pursuit was put together to also raise awareness and funds for organizations dedicated to helping re-home and comfort homeless women (due to various circumstances) in America and Australia.
So much respect for your innovation on this continuing project.
With these releases, you have raised over $8000 for charity and with that, have inspired so many to stay true to the gift of giving, thank you.
What inspired you to branch out and curate WoW? How did you go about making this idea a reality? And what is the overall message you are trying to get across with "Women Of The World" an all-female Tracklist?
I was sick of seeing shady comments about the rise of women in the community, I’m thankful our Lofi community is so open to everyone but not all beat communities are and it was bothering me.
I see women as very powerful people and I love all women pursuing their craft for them and no one else.
I wanted to share these incredible women’s tracks with the world and our beautiful community and give something back through that.
It’s important to make everyone in community shine and I wanted something for the ladies as it was around International Women’s Day and that inspired me to just push forward, and I thought this is something I really want to push and I could not have expected to go as well as it did, it has been incredible.
Finally on the subject, what do you feel WoW's creation tries to inspire most in both males and females creating and listening within the beat scene?
I just hope WOW inspired women to put their stuff out there and for men to be accepting and support that,
I feel like that was successful, I saw so many people just bigging up each other when wow was released and creating that sense of community and safety is so important to me.
Volumes 1 and 2 featured artists like handycat, Yourself, Eevee, India On Da Track, and Seneca B, all artists that show lofi and production, in general, allow so many opportunities to be diverse.
I saw recently that you are taking in submissions for Volume 3 which I am sure will encourage head bops world-wide.
Can you give us a sneak-peek into the curator's mind as to what we can expect with Volume 3? What feels and approaches will you be going for with this release?
I’m not going to lie, This year has fucked me uup with WOW,
I just couldn’t focus on it, I have a lot going on with my own career, and its really taking away from my time with WOW which I’m really upset about but I need to take one thing at a time.
I have to give a huge shout out to Emy Zulazna for helping me with everything this year.
I am feeling way more motivated now I’m getting used to the lockdowns but I’m not even sure I’ll get VOL.3 out this year, but I hope I get to.
Just remember that when you're focusing on a project you can get caught up so hard in other people, you need to remember to take some time out for yourself when focusing on these projects cause it can get quite overwhelming.
Going back to 2016 I have to mention your [Episode 2] Ride With It Set. Along with Amin Payne and ohwell's sets, yours is often bouncing through my speakers so thank you for doing Australia justice with your sensei ways <3
How did that opportunity come about and what was it like performing for an online audience, in a moving car opposed to a live set on stage?
Thank you so much, ride with it was so much fun, but it was the day after I had been to a grand final that Western Bulldogs won so I was very dusty in the car that day.
The opportunity arose as I knew the guys who started it prior to them doing it and they approached me and asked if I’d be keen and I was already there haha.
It was super strange being in a car doing beats, people in other cars wondering what you're doing and not being able to see the SP buttons cause of the light was a little struggle to, I wish ride with it was still around! RIP RIDE WITH IT!

Ride with it Episode 2 - SADIVA -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cC1cICa4cUc&t=2s
You've performed in venues all over the world now, and with each performance, I am sure you learn something new about not only yourself but also your environments.
Can you share what it is like being on stage and also how you keep your nerves in check when you're tweaking those buttons?
Being on stage for me is like another persona, I go to another planet, it’s like when Usagi/Serena turns into sailor moon.
When I'm Djing or playing beats live I become one with the music and its more than a show to me, this is me representing my feelings on stage.
Each city I play also is like learning something new about the culture,
I am so lucky with the opportunities I have.
What environments do you like to create through your live shows?
And also what has been your favourite show to date and why?
I like to create a safe environment where anyone can feel like we can chat after the show, when people come out to see me I am so grateful and it always turns into a bit of a party towards the end of the shows.
I’ve had so many amazing shows but up to date, I’d say when I played in Turin, Italy with my good friend Siccarone beats, that was life-changing.
It was an illegal warehouse party and it was packed, I couldn’t believe the show and it was just so much fun I can’t wait to go back after all of this is over
Musical Recommendations?
At the moment I’m really just feeling a lot of different stuff, I have a few playlists made on Spotify which is probably best to see what I’m really into cause holy dang it’s a big ol mix bag.
Recommendations Away From Music?
Look after your loved ones, your animals, and please look after each other.
The world is in a crazy place so let’s make everyone feel safe in these crazy times.
Any New Releases or Shows coming up that we should keep an ear and eye out for?
Look, since corona, all my big announcements have kind of been put on pause which is a real shame because I was really looking forward to this year.
However, I do have some really big news coming and I am not allowed to say much more than that. I hope this new thing I’m working on really helps our community shine, even more, I wanna talk so much more about it but I can’t, so stay tuned!!!
If so can you share a few details?
My lips are sealed but I’ll be able to announce soon.
Any Last Words?

R
ND: What got you started in music? What is the Reason you are where you are today?
PC: I got started in music when I was in middle school, my older brother had some friends in bands and I always thought it was so rad, once I started doing it for myself, I fell in love with it, there isn’t any other way to express myself that is as rewarding as grabbing a idea for a song out of the air and making it my own, I’m pretty much a junky for music…the whole band is.
CK: I actually moved to California in 2011 to pursue my dreams in creating music professionally when I met Pony and Jay at the studio for my audition to join the band and since recording “Antarctica” with Forget Your Friends, we’ve continued to progressively build our sound to bind the colors in our heads into music that we consider, Newgaze. Our hope and belief in the music we create together has kept us inspired because we each equally care deeply about our California Newgaze sound and want to offer a new style that music lovers can relate with.
JP: Hearing music for the first time and other bands. As soon as I got into music I knew that’s what I wanted to do. So I pursued it and haven’t looked back since.
AJ: I’ve always been heavily around music from an early age, started in school marching bands working my way up to touring the country… kind of a trip haha. [On the reason he is where he is today:]When I stopped telling myself ‘I can’t’.
I
ND: What effect (Influence) do you hope to have on us?
PC: I hope I can influence people to side step out of their box, check out of life’s busy [mess] for a while and just vibe out to some jams.
CK: I’m hoping that we can invite everyone to enjoy our sound as we don’t really fit in with any specific genre, but we would wish for a universal audience to be open to hearing what we’re bringing out in to the music world. We want to influence a certain common ground for everyone to have different reasons for liking us instead of catering to what is normally accepted by society and essentially, what is expected. We want to break the binds of tradition and reach out to everyone who may want or need a release from the real world, but who can still rock out in our dream world of aggression and nirvana.
JP: Hopefully positive and insightful.
AJ: I believe you have to see us first hand to understand that..
https://www.instagram.com/p/BVKlfUtBYmT/?taken-by=forgetyourfriends
B
ND: What do you do when you’re stuck (Blocked)?
PC: Time…if I force something it never comes out as rad as it would’ve if I would of just let it materialize naturally, I gotta check out sometimes and it’s always totally helpful, I play music ‘cuz I love it, so if I’m not feeling it I accept that and take a few off.
CK: I try to make a great escape from reality by letting my mind feel all of the pain and emotions that we sometimes hide from even ourselves. I’ve heard that if you’re having a hard time trying to remember something, the best thing to do is to think of something else. So I try and apply that to my writing, if I feel like nothing is coming naturally, I stop entirely and make a great escape, then come back to it with new inspiration.
JP: Take a break and walk away. Wait for the energy to return, it always does. You can’t force creativity.
AJ: I focus creative energy on other projects in between so if it’s music I’m having a creative block with I focus on filming/photography and vice versa.
E
ND: What fires you up and gives you Energy?
PC: The sun, I’m a sun sign so if I’m feeling [bad] I just go lay in the sun for a bit, it always recharges my energy for sure….and passion tea no sugar extra ice from Starbucks.
CK: Life! Feeling alive and having HOPE gives me energy. I try to surround myself with positivity because sometimes I lose track of what life is supposed to mean, instead of just living in the moment where we should be inviting every opportunity that may come our way!
JP: Performing. There’s no feeling like taking the stage to fans who are waiting for you or discovering you for the first time.
AJ: My fans, most definitely.
L
ND: Can you share a Little known fact with us?
PC: Redheads cover only about 2% of the population.  If you’re like me, a blue-eyed redhead, then you only cover about 1%; making myself one of the rarest humans in the world….so you’re welcome for knowing me.
CK: I was a Junior Olympian swimmer at one point in my life. And now I hate getting in pools all together.
JP: Ummmm. I’m allergic to apricots. If I look at one I’ll die.
AJ: Trumpet was the first instrument I started with as a child. I was a band geek!
A
ND: Where is your favorite place in Los Angeles? Where would you take visitors? If you could defend the city in one sentence to someone who doubts it, what would you say?
PC: One of the best parts about LA is the music shops & record stores, you can find any & everything & I know you can find anything online but hunting for a record or guitar in person is always much more satisfying! LA is basically the internet in real life, you can find whatever you want at just about anytime, you just gotta [work] to find it.
CK: I love this cafe called Happy Days Cafe because they’re open until 2am and make the best stuffed churros in the world where they have vegan and gluten free options!
JP: Definitely LACMA and probably a show at The Whisky A Go Go with a walk down Sunset to see the weirdness. And for any doubter I would say, “how can you doubt a city that dreams so big and wears so much leather.”
AJ: I think if I have any plans to take you anywhere, it would have to be to one of my favorite restaurants Lee’s Tofu. Not only is the food good but the waitresses are kinda rude, it’s great lol. LA offers so much importance from its diversity and culture so don’t knock it til you try it you feel me?
M
ND: Briefly chronicle your creative process. How do you like to Make art?
PC: Usually it’s morning or night, I can’t seem to catch inspiration mid day for some reason…but it always starts on my acoustic guitar, I will get random melodies and guitar ideas stuck in my head and kick em around with the band see if anything sticks.
CK: I love writing songs first on my acoustic guitar and even recording a tune that I’ve had in my head during the day and building from that. We all write together so it’s really fun when we each vibe on an idea and expand something that wasn’t really there expect for in our heads, into reality.
JP: Creativity is a hard thing to describe. I love hearing other artists speak about how they write their songs, most have the same answer, it just happens, you pick up your instrument and it happens.
AJ: To be honest I always love going in with no plan to my writing process. Whatever is happening naturally in that moment is what excites me. Most importantly believe in what you’re creating, always.
U
ND: What is coming Up?
PC: We have a new 4 track EP we are about to drop on oktoheart records this fall/winter it was recorded at Big Bad Sound in LA as well as Wormhole Studios in Canyon Country, CA. We had Alan Day from the band Four Year Strong fly out from Boston to produce it & Roman Marisak for engineering/mixing, we are so excited to share it with everyone!
CK: We are releasing an EP by the end of this summer that I couldn’t be more excited to share because the songs mean the world to us and I really feel like this is the sound we’ve heard in our heads for all these years of being a band together.
JP: A lot I’m sure, we never stop. We have an album coming out later this year, SPELLS, and we will be hitting the road soon to promote that.
AJ: Definitely some more music videos, new music for sure.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BaPbqS0Hc9S/?taken-by=forgetyourfriends
S
ND: Describe your Style – musically and otherwise.
PC: We are a California Newgaze band, our style is like Shoegaze grunge with a heavy alternative punk vibe…we feel like with our sound, we are in our own place stylistically, that’s one of the reasons we spell “Nu-Gaze” like “Newgaze” it’s not the traditional way people are used to seeing it, but we really love how the people that are into us totally get and understand the movement, we are pretty much the first band on Instagram to start tagging Newgaze…so we totally feel like it’s ours and the fans’ own little cult, most of our shows are with bands we don’t fit in with but we love it.
CK: We are Newgaze/California Newgaze which is a harder/darker tribute to shoegaze. My style is always all black everything, yet with some metallic or glitter to accompany: I feel like this also describes our sound haha.
JP: Musically, we are a grinding buzzsaw of mass distortion and spacey undertones. Heavy and hypnotic.
AJ: I really love when I hear different interpretations of how fans creatively perceive us. We’ve been told we sound like if Deftones and Slowdive had a baby… yep that pretty much sums it up haha.
I
ND: What is the best advice you’ve received and the best advice you can Impart on us?
PC: To not get caught up in outside expectations, set your own bar, success is what you make it, just do you.
CK: It’s simple, but the best advice that I go by is still to “Follow Your Heart,” and as hard as that is to do sometimes, it always keeps me in check and keeps me going.
JP: You only live once, take chances, so don’t look back and say “I wish I did that”. Just go out and do it.
AJ: ‘Don’t be an idiot’… Changed my life.
C
ND: Any Closing words?
PC: Stay Gold.
CK: Winter is Coming.
JP: Thank you for the opportunity to answer these questions, some I’ve never even really asked myself.
AJ: Yes, we always love meeting new fans and existing fans so next time you see us at a show come say hi!!
