Embers of the Heart
In the grand palace of the Fire Nation, Fire Lord Zuko was a single father, devoted to his responsibilities and his young daughter, Izumi. Since the loss of her mother, he had dedicated himself to being both a parent and a ruler, but he couldn't deny that the absence of a maternal figure in Izumi's life weighed on his heart.
(Y/N), a gentle and caring servant, had come to the palace years ago to serve in various roles. Her arrival was unassuming, but her nature stood out in the bustling palace. She had always been drawn to children and had a natural talent for making them feel safe and loved.
One sunny morning, as (Y/N) and Izumi played together in the palace garden, their laughter echoed through the courtyard. The little princess was fascinated by the gentle, affectionate servant who took the time to play with her. With every passing day, Izumi had grown fonder of (Y/N), and she had come to think of her as a second mother.
Zuko observed from a distance, hidden behind a pillar, as (Y/N) showed Izumi how to create small flames with her tiny hands. Her patience and encouragement were heartwarming, and he found himself smiling as he watched the two of them bond. It was a sight that warmed his heart, a sight he hadn't seen in his family for years.
(Y/N) noticed Izumi's father watching from afar and decided to include him. She motioned for Zuko to join them, her warm smile inviting him into their world. He hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should intrude on their moment, but (Y/N)'s welcoming gesture was too irresistible to ignore.
As he approached, (Y/N) handed a small fireball to Izumi, who proudly demonstrated her newly acquired skill. "Look, Father, I can bend fire!" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement.
Zuko couldn't help but be amazed by his daughter's progress, and he felt a deep sense of gratitude toward (Y/N). He admired the way she connected with Izumi, her nurturing and affectionate presence filling a void in their lives. He had always been an advocate for nurturing the potential of the next generation, and watching (Y/N) guide Izumi in bending warmed his heart.
"Thank you," he said softly to her, his amber eyes reflecting his sincere appreciation. "You're incredible with Izumi."
(Y/N) blushed at the compliment but accepted it with grace. "It's my pleasure, Fire Lord Zuko. Izumi is a wonderful child to spend time with."
Over time, (Y/N) continued to be an important presence in Izumi's life. Her bond with the young princess deepened, and she saw in the little girl a chance to share her love, knowledge, and the art of firebending. She taught Izumi not only the fundamentals but also the importance of control, balance, and using one's power wisely.
Zuko admired the bond that was forming between the two of them. He had seen the isolation and strictness that came with being a royal, and he was grateful that Izumi had someone like (Y/N) to teach her not just firebending but also compassion and understanding.
One evening, as the palace bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, Zuko found himself alone with (Y/N) in the garden. The atmosphere was serene, the gardens adorned with the radiant colors of the Fire Nation's flora. He took a deep breath, the words he had been wanting to say for a long time weighing on his heart.
"(Y/N), you've been a source of light and love in Izumi's life," he began, his amber eyes locking onto hers. "And I can't help but feel a connection between us too."
(Y/N)'s heart raced as she met his gaze. She had felt a growing connection with Zuko, and she had longed for the day when he would acknowledge it.
Zuko took a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently touch (Y/N)'s cheek. "I want you to know that I appreciate everything you do, not just for Izumi, but for me as well. And I'd like to get to know you better, (Y/N). Would you consider joining us not just as Izumi's nanny but as a part of our family?"
Tears welled up in (Y/N)'s eyes as she nodded, her heart overflowing with happiness. "I would be honored, Fire Lord Zuko. I care deeply for both you and Izumi."
Their hands intertwined, and in that moment, amidst the blossoms of the Fire Nation garden, a new chapter began. (Y/N) became not only Izumi's nanny but a beloved presence in Zuko's life, and they discovered that the embers of love, once kindled, could grow into a warm and enduring flame.
As the days turned into weeks, they would embark on a journey together, as a family. Amidst the challenges of rulership, parenthood, and love, they found that their shared affection and commitment would guide them through it all. And as they faced each day with the warmth of their newfound family, they knew that love could truly transform even the most scarred hearts into embers of pure, enduring affection.

GOD’s good news today!
Psalm 73:25-26
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but GOD is the strength of my hearts and my portion forever.
Our Prayer
Dear GOD and our Father, if only we have you, we desire nothing more in heaven or on earth. Body and soul may fail, but you, O God, are the strength and comfort of our hearts and you are our forever. May we live in your Spirit and may your light shine over us. Touch our hearts and help us understand the greatness of what you call us to. Help us and free us again and again so that we are not bound by fear, even when we must pass through intense suffering . For your hand shall be with us and shall rescue us. Your hands shall bring about good for us and for all the people around us. Our hearts go out to them and we plead for them too, “Lord, send your Savior to all.” In JESUS name this we PRAY. To GOD be all the GLORY!!Amen, Amen, Amen!!

A Decade of Blessings
The world seems to move faster with each passing year, and sometimes it's easy to feel overwhelmed. For nearly a decade, however, I've been incredibly fortunate. A good job after graduation allowed me to travel to new places and support my family in ways I never imagined.
Looking back, I can't help but be grateful for the incredible people who have guided me. I wouldn't have been able to achieve so much without their support and God's divine intervention. A scholarship, which I never thought I'd qualify for, opened the door to college, and my amazing first job sharpen my English skills. These stepping stones led me to my current, fulfilling position.
Life throws its challenges, but reflecting on where I came from fills me with immense thankfulness. I'm blessed to be in a position to help myself and my family, even in small ways.
I'm grateful for the wonderful people who surround me – true friends who have enriched my journey. And to my mother, whose unwavering belief in me has been a constant source of strength throughout my journey. I'm eternally grateful, Lord.

DOES GRATITUDE MATTER?
Tumblr media
Does gratitude matter? - YES! For me, there are a lot of things to be grateful for in life. Gratitude is deeper than thankful or blessed. This feeling teaches us how to be resilient.
I’m thankful for. I am fortunate to have. I appreciate. - some of the common lines we are using.
"Negativity is always easier to see than positivity but gratitude creates a space where we are forced to see the positive aspects of our lives therefore creating hopefulness and serenity even in difficult moments. - by Ashley Bryan MS, LMHCA"
I owe so much to the person that I learned why GRATITUDE is important. My life is boring, it is not like anybody else's life. I am a loner but at times I can also be goofy. I already shared with you how my life changed in 7 months. I already shared with you that my Mom was sick and because of this experience, I am beyond grateful. I am thankful that my Mom gave me a chance to take good care of her. My gratitude for the chance to care for my mother, as well as my ability to find hope and resilience through these trials, is a testament to my strength and the power of gratitude. Seeing her health progress day by day but there are also times that she is not okay, still, I am thankful for the experience. Seeing, and hearing her cry is so hurtful that I don't know what to do or find the right word to tell her that IT IS OKAY. Growing up, I was not close to any of my family members, especially to my Mom, I have a cat and dog relationship with her.
Let me share with you a short story that happened in my personal life. I already hit rock bottom, I can't even talk about it to anybody but taking good care of my sick Mom, made me see how life is beautiful. It helps me to be more resilient in life. Seeing things positively as much as possible. Even though there are trials that we are struggling with now, there is still hope. I know it's been HARD but there is always tomorrow to be able to be grateful. And with that, I am super duper grateful beyond emotions, waking up each day to see my Mom and Pop is okay.
Gratitude indeed has a transformative effect on our lives. It allows us to appreciate the positive aspects, no matter how small, and fosters a sense of hope and serenity even in the face of challenges. My story serves as a reminder to all of us about the importance of gratitude and finding beauty amid hardship.
So, what are you grateful for?

A few phrases I hear on the regular include: “Get me out first!”, “No, I’m sitting next to mommy!”
On the surface, it seems so silly for the siblings to be arguing over who is going to get unbuckled from their car seat first or who gets to sit on my left side on the couch. It can be challenging to be patient in these moments. But when I dig deeper (which I tend to do when lying in bed at night), I can usually get to the root of all of these seemingly petty arguments. Once I understand the cause, I can better handle both the situation and my own response.
The common thread among these “me first” arguments is a yearning for my attention. It is HARD to share a person that you love. It’s understandable that they both want to feel that they are the most important and each very loved by me. This is more true than ever as we get ready to welcome a new baby. While I know with certainty that I could not love one child more than the other, that is a trickier concept for young children to understand. Attention = love in their minds, and they are keenly aware of the balance or imbalance of that attention each moment of each day.
While there are still plenty of “me first” arguments, I’ve found a few strategies that seem to help. Some of the strategies I’m sharing are preventative and can be implemented anytime. Other strategies are ones I use in the moment, when the arguing and competition is high
If we notice they are starting to argue often, we try to put the kids on the same team instead. This means coming up with activities where they are working towards a common goal. Rather than ask them to race each other to get ready, I might ask if they can work together to clean up all the little pieces before the song ends or if they can get in their car seats before I pack up the trunk. I often include myself in the team and help them out, modeling that we all work as a team. I even say “let’s work as a team to _____” which helps them think about our family or each other as a team. My husband is especially good at inventing big movement games where they try to beat a clock or even him instead of each other. I also really like cooperative board games for this reason - they are trying to win together.

What should I focus on to support my kids to have overall growth and well-being?
Based on studies as a parent, you can focus on helping your child develop in a variety of areas to support their overall growth and well-being. Here are some important areas to consider:
Social and emotional development: Help your child build strong relationships with family, friends, and peers. Encourage them to express their emotions in a healthy way, and help them develop empathy and social skills.
Cognitive development: Encourage your child to explore their interests and learn new things. Provide opportunities for problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
Physical development: Support your child's physical health through regular exercise, a healthy diet, and adequate sleep.
Language development: Encourage your child's language development through reading, talking, and exposure to a variety of vocabulary.
Independence and self-care skills: Help your child develop age-appropriate independence, including self-care skills like dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
Cultural awareness and diversity: Teach your child to appreciate and respect different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives.
Moral development: Help your child develop a strong sense of ethics and values, and encourage them to make responsible choices.
Remember that every child is unique and may require different approaches to development. By focusing on these important areas, you can help support your child's overall growth and well-being, while also promoting a positive and nurturing home environment.

On the 17th marked his 29th year in heaven. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of my grandpa and wished for him to still be with us physically. Though he is not, he is forever in our hearts. My memories of him are still as fresh as if it just had happened and I miss him every single day. I love you Papa!
