I think my problem with some Ghosts fics is that they mess up what Hesh and Logan are.

They're brothers, yeah, that's the simple answer. But they're also an inseparable dynamic.

Hesh exists the way he does because of Logan: He's loud and brash, but he's like that because he's been raised and trained to believe it's his god-given duty to keep himself and Logan safe. (Morso the latter.)

For similar reasons, Logan is somewhat meek and quiet. He protects Hesh too, but he's quieter with the way he goes about it. Sneakier. Listens to Hesh's every whim because he believes whatever Hesh decides to do will benefit/protect them both.

They can't separate without something going missing from each of them, because apart of their character is their relationship.

It's also why they're good foils for Rorke and Elias. They had a similar relationship up until Caracas. Rorke led and Elias followed.

(Also feeds my theory that Rorke chose Logan over Hesh because Logan was like Elias, and Rorke missed Elias in some way but hated him too much to come back. Also why he left Hesh alive, because he saw himself in him. And Rorke is very scared of dying.)
