Extremely nitpicky but I hate white wedding gowns in fantasy, especially when they make absolutely no sense in the setting. No, that culture in the far north that prioritizes function over form and mostly wears heavy furs would not have the means, ability, or desire to make a sleeveless ivory silk gown with a semi-sweetheart neckline. Please be sensible about this and use your creativity instead of just slapping a Kleinfeld wedding gown into a medieval fantasy setting.

saw the phrase “power move” and was reminded of the near-climax of MDZS when Jiang Cheng slams open the doors of the temple in the middle of a thunderstorm, holding his umbrella in one hand and purple lightning whip in the other, drops his umbrella to draw his sword while knocking most of JGY’s goons flat with a single crackling whip-swing in 0.2 seconds, then from the back of the temple JGY starts playing golden core-restraining music again, and still all in one smooth striding forward Jiang Cheng kicks a fallen goon’s sword into the air, catches it, and grates it against his own sword to make a noise so horrendously ear-splitting that every Lan in the room winces visibly, until Jin Guangyao stops playing and walks forward to say, “I must admit my defeat against such a power move.”
just thought I’d remind you all, too.

"Peach Boy 2" (1989), also called Magic of Steel, was one of the most wildly successful movies in the late 80s trend in Taiwan and Hong Kong of fantasy movies aimed at children (which also included entries like "Ginseng Boy" and "Magic Crystal").
Peach Boy, a magic child born in a peach who is one part Peter Pan, another part Bart Simpson, a third part Samurai, and a fourth part Superman, discovers a sorcerer is killing a thousand kids to keep his body from decaying, and has to stop him.
Peach Boy was, like Bart Simpson, played by an adult woman who sounded and looked like a boy.
Tumblr media
Peach Boy was a huge phenomenon, despite the weirdness and low budget of the whole thing. Many very young Chinese kids remember being shocked when they found out their hero Peach Boy was actually....played by a girl! Hsiao Lao Lin.
Tumblr media
Also known as "Magic of Steel," it is one of the few films to have a typo in the opening title.

I was promised in marriage to a Chinese prince (like in one of those fantasy dramas in China) and I did not want to marry him.
So I kept jumping down from high places (there was modern hip-hop music in the background for some reason) but every time I jumped down from somewhere, I lost 10 years of my life and did not die immediately, like I wanted.
The prince also kept chasing me around to catch me but he never succeeded.
At the end, I needed to jump one last time to actually die and escape the prince forever. But the moment I jumped, I woke up. I could still remember the background hip-hop music up to 10 minutes after waking up.
I am not Chinese, by the way.
