shifting advice; pick a pile 🦋
pile 1 - indifferent, austerity, undisturbed channeled song - ride by lana del rey
"i'm tired of feeling like i'm fucking crazy, i'm tired of driving ’til i see stars in my eyes, all i’ve got to keep myself sane, baby, so i just ride, i just ride”
everything's moving fast, everything’s changing. maybe you’re getting a little overwhelmed, that’s okay. you may not realise it, but you’re making quite a lot of progress. embrace the shift, be open to it - it will happen sooner than you expect and may even catch you off guard. it could happen when you least expect it. ground yourself and your senses into the world that so lovingly calls you home. trust.
take a step back, what is your intuition telling you? don't ignore it, listen intently. you can be your greatest mentor in your shifting journey even if it may not feel like it. you are the one who will figure out what works for you, what helps you shift, what fits you right. you are the one who sets the foundation for your shifting journey, and no one else can do that. realize how powerful you are. the answers you seek lie within. reflect, ponder, journal, and soon you will find yourself in the land of your dreams.
you've been through pain, you’ve seen hardships. don't beat yourself up for “failed” attempts, or for not waking up where you wanted to. let go of the past, it cannot be changed; it was there to teach you a lesson, to prepare you, to test your mettle. what's done is done, what’s gone is gone. you still have time, you still have potential. you'll make it. let go of the past, it cannot control you unless you choose to let it. rewire your past assumptions into those that are favourable. just feel, just exist, just be. you're human, be kinder to yourself. let yourself heal. don't let the pain hinder your journey. instead, redirect your focus to the more valuable aspects of your desired reality - your loved ones, or anything else. realize how much they will help you, how much they will heal you, the joy they will bring you, and use that realisation to ground yourself into your desired reality.
be slow, be steady. you could either be the tortoise, or be the hare, its entirely up to you. commit, persist, devote yourself to your desired reality. every small step you take will build up to something greater, something tangible, something meaningful and worthwhile. starting now, everything you do will help you shift, regardless of how small it is. the work and effort will pay off. don't stop, just keep going on. your shift is near, emotional fulfilment and joy await you. stay hopeful, stay open. you will soon bear the fruits of your labour.
pile 2 - aversion to faultfinding, nonviolence, expert channeled song - roslyn by bon iver & st. vincent
“up with your turret, aren't we just terrified? shale, screen your worry, from what you won’t ever find, don’t let it fool you, don’t let it fool you, down”
maybe you’re feeling disconnected from your desired reality, or maybe you find yourself unworthy of shifting. you might even feel like you’re missing something that you need in order to shift. let me remind you, the aforementioned is nothing but a lie; it is nothing but your mind playing tricks on you, and your thoughts taunting you. you're not alone, you’re enough. the universe has your back, this hardship will not last. even if your desired reality feels distant, it is closer than you realize. you are connected, you are aligned. just keep going.
your biggest mistake is not realizing your power. you’re manifesting all the time, you’re shifting all the time, so what’s stopping you from shifting to anyplace else? you are the creator of your reality, and that is how it will always be. you already possess the ability to shift, just step into your power and take control of your journey, stop letting it run on autopilot. be patient, be kinder to yourself. don’t be aggressive and rough, instead be gentle and soft. approach shifting with a nurturing, almost motherly energy. by showing yourself more love and care you will raise your vibrations and thus easily align with the energy of your desired reality. keep your mind clear, stop letting emotions and negative thoughts get to you. the mind likes to mess around with you, will you give it the power to do so? or will you take control and take yourself where your heart desires? it is foolish to give power to mere thoughts and emotions, which are, at the end of the day, nothing but temporary. let go of impatient, there’s no clock ticking, there’s no one timing your shift. it will happen but you need to let go of all the pressures and worries. be confident, your thoughts are powerful and if utilized the right way, can guide you into your desired reality.
you're far stronger than how much you give yourself credit for. you don’t need to fight or battle monsters to shift, the shift is waiting for you, calling you lovingly into a gentle embrace. simply accept it, let it catch you when you fall, drop your weapons. go soft, go steady, stop being at war with yourself. trust yourself more, realize that you are what makes the shift happen, no one or nothing else. be stubborn, but not aggressive. you want to shift? then do. no one can stop you, no one can hinder your progress. even if someone doesn’t understand or support your desire to shift, that will not change anything. only you can make the shift happen. don't let doubts weigh you down. don’t get disheartened by temporary setbacks, just keep pushing, but be kind to yourself in the process. pile 3 - silent, gravity, charity channeled song - outro by m83
"i'm the king of my own land, forcing tempests of dusts, i'll fight until the end, creatures of my dreams raise up and dance with me! now and forever, i'm your king”
you need to be honest and sincere with yourself. are you procrastinating? pushing the shift away? thinking there’s something more you need, or that something is holding you back from shifting? are you resisting the shift? you may be self-sabotaging yourself without realizing it. align with your desired reality by being true to yourself, by reflecting on yourself and your actions. align with the higher version of yourself. step into your power. you already know what you need to know. now it is time to put in the work. be shameless, rid yourself of guilt. welcome the shift with open arms and an open embrace. you know what needs to be done. stop getting in your own way. give shadow work or journalling a try to understand why and how you’re hindering yourself from shifting. understand the root cause behind these actions. are you scared to shift? finding yourself unprepared to experience your desired reality? afraid things won’t go your way? let go of everything, take it down a notch. you have expectations, and that’s okay, but don’t let them get in the way or make them unrealistic. be grounded, be mature, be practical. you're not playing with toys, you’re building an empire. realize that you have the utmost power and ability to shift, to live the life you desire, to get what you want. take ownership of this ability. trust yourself more. maintain some discipline, bring some structure into your routine. consider making a shifting journal to keep track of each shift, to find what helps and what doesn’t, to delve into each attempt in a detailed manner. you are the creator, you are the boss. you are the puppeteer, controlling everything else. there's no divine timing, there’s no right time to shift. there’s no prophecy waiting to be fulfilled. the shift wasn’t meant to happen at a certain time. instead, it will happen whenever you want; whenever you let it happen, whenever you give it permission, when you allow it to come through. be confident in your ability to shift, you know about this for a reason. shifting wouldn’t have found you if it wasn’t meant for you. enough doubting, enough wavering. if you want things to change you must leap into action and stop letting insignificant little things get in your way. you have the passion, you have the vision, you have the potential. be bold, be brave, let your passion for your desired reality fuel the shift. you are ready, believe and let it happen.

God is not keeping a record of all your faults. Sometimes we think He's in heaven, watching to catch us. No, God is not a faultfinder. He's not an accuser. He is full of mercy. He'll show you favor that you don't deserve.
When you have the right image of God, you know that He's for you, that He's not basing His goodness toward you on your performance but on His grace alone. Then all the guilt and the condemnation have to go.

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].
James 1:5-8 ampc

“Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.” Titus 3:10-11
When tempted to speak unadvisedly, be on guard. If some one else approaches you with words of criticism regarding one of God's children, turn a deaf ear to every such word. If you are spoken to harshly, never retaliate. Utter not a word. When under provocation, remember that "silence in eloquence." Silence is the greatest rebuke that you can possibly give to a faultfinder or one whose temper is irritated.
#OurHighCalling
Take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry. #James 1:19
Rebukes - silent or otherwise - should only come from love. I am just realizing as i study the passages where we are instructed to not even eat with certain people, it’s not because we are good and they are bad - it’s because God loves them so much that He does not want them comfortable in the sin he is referring to in that passage. He wants them so uncomfortable that it will convict them and cause their hearts to receive His correction - and by grace grant repentance. In those situations it is the most loving thing we can do, is follow His instructions. But we feel so inadequate and flawed ourselveslves to do this - so It doesn’t feel like love to us - and it sure doesn’t seem like it to them I’m sure - but Gods love is so much MORE and BETTER than we love as humans. When I stop and think about the times my human love could cause people I care about to end up in hell I’m so deeply mortified it rips my heart out and I pray so hard to love like He loves. Because when I’m afraid to hurt them, or chase them away - that’s not loving them - that’s loving ME. Im protecting MYSELF from feeling bad - That level of selfishness in my heart shakes me to my core.
“But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.” 1st-Corinthians 5:11-13
“But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” 2nd-Timothy 2:23-26
“But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2nd-Timothy 2:16-19

Why do Shiites curse Hz. Umar and Hz. Aisha in prayers?
Why do Shiites celebrate the martyrdom of Hz. Umar by Abu Lu’lu and why do they regard him as "sacred"?
Shiites accuse Hz. Abu Bakr and Hz. Umar of sodomy. What is the reason for this hostility of Shia to the Companions?
Do they not know that this mischief was caused by Abdullah b. Saba?
What is the reason for the attribution of prophethood to Hz. Ali?
THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE: IS THERE A SCIENTIFIC BASIS OF THOSE CLAIMS? IF NOT, HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE THOSE LIES?
Is hostility to Hz. Umar something that occurred after the Sassanid conquest by Umar?
They say that some of the verses of the Quran were lost by Hz. Umar. Why do they hold that view?
In short, what is the reason for that hostility?
Sects (madhhabs) of both creed and fiqh are not religions; they are ways of understanding the religion. Shia is one of them.
In the history of madhhabs, Shia is the common name of those who believed that Hz. Ali and his Ahl al-Bayt were the people who deserved caliphate the most, who claimed that Ali was the "legitimate" caliph based on the Quran and appointment and that the caliphs after him should come from his descendants.
The tribal management approach introduced during the Umayyad period caused many Muslims to move away from the government in power; some of those groups assumed a fatalistic understanding and preferred to be patient, thinking that the bad things that happened to them was the predestination of Allah.
However, some of the dissatisfied groups preferred to revolt against the government. In order to legitimize their rebellion and to reach larger groups, they claimed that Hz. Ali and his descendants had the right to be the caliph, that the Umayyads usurped their right, and that they were struggling to make Hz. Ali and his descendants the caliph.
On the other hand, some of the descendants of Hz. Ali like Zayd b. Ali, who were not pleased with the Umayyad government, actively led those revolts from time to time, causing the social basis and acceptability of such claims to increase.
Every revolt that took place based on that mentality and the blood that was shed in those revolts caused the opposition groups to lose their spiritual ties with large sections of the public due to supporting the government on the one hand, and to elevate Hz. Ali and his descendants more and more every day by establishing a bond based on destiny with them on the other hand. Thus, Muslims started to separate and evolved into a bipolar structure, with the broad Sunni mass on one side and the opposing Shiite group on the other.
As the political struggle continued through that bipolar structure, the language used by the two groups against each other became more severe day by day, and in parallel with that severity, the opposing Shiite groups carried the understanding of "the imamate of Hz Ali and his descendants", which they initially used only to legitimize their political opposition, to the religious field over time, developing an alternative understanding of religion, which would be called Shia.
The groups belonging to that understanding of religion that was built on the idea of "the imamate of Hz Ali and his descendants" also built a retrospective history from the place where they stood. In this understanding, which was built on a dualist structure like "Hz. Ali and his opponents" and "supporters of the good and the evil", Hz. Ali and his descendants represented the good, supporting the truth, and brightness while the other Muslim groups, which they placed in a position against Ali, represented darkness, evil and supporting the devil.
In this dualist perception of history, Hz. Abu Bakr and Hz. Umar were regarded as the main actors who deprived Ali of his right to the caliphate and hence they were described with some negative attributes. Most of the Companions who, according to them, did not defend Ali’s right to the caliphate, were also placed on the negative pole. Praising or faultfinding expressions toward a few Companions are also a result of that bipolar perception of history.
Therefore, there is such a historical, political, cultural, sociological, psychological and sectarian background behind the negative viewpoints toward Hz. Umar and the Companions.
On the other hand, it is necessary to state that this political, historical and sectarian viewpoint toward the Companions, which emerged in Shiite groups, did not cover all Shiite groups and was not defended with the same harshness in all periods of history.
Some Shiite groups such as Zaydiyya tried to remain out of the perception of the history built by Shiite groups and tried to develop a more neutral and moderate perception of the Companions.
In some Shiite groups such as Imamiyya, in which a negative perception of the Companions emerged, the dose of the negative perception of the Companions increased or decreased depending on the political relations with Sunnis. There was quite a lot of softening in the perception of the Companions in the periods when the relations with the Sunnis were better but a more negative understanding of the Companions emerged during the times when the relations were tense.
Besides, the Imamiyya sect was divided within itself regarding the issue; while the Usuliyya group, which represents a more rational tradition, tried to assume a moderate perception of the Companions, a relatively more negative language was preferred in the Akhbariyya group, which assumed a line based religious texts and tradition.
The issues you mention in the question have no historical reality and consistency. As a matter of fact, scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah have given the necessary answers to the claims you mention in every period of history.
To sum up, the negative perception developed in some Shiite groups toward the Companions is generally a product of the understanding of Middle Ages politics and the understanding of legitimizing political opposition through religion.
The duty of today’s Muslims is to make their own internal investigations by considering that the origin of some faiths that prevent Muslims from living together and in brotherhood may have been shaped by the political, social and cultural conditions of the period.

In the 26th chapter of the Tao Te Ching, you're being advised to maintain a sense of serenity regardless of what you may see taking place around you.
Moreover, you're being told that the true master knows that the ability to stay calm is always located within.
From this perspective, there's no need to assign responsibility to others for how you feel.
Even though you may live in a world where blame and faultfinding are endemic, you will own your feelings and actions.
You will know that circumstances don't determine your state of mind, for that power rests with you.
When you maintain a peaceful inner posture, even in the midst of chaos, you change your life.

Atlantis - Clown: Chapter 2
Location: Yumenosaki Auditorium Characters: Wataru Season: Winter
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ< A few minutes later. ㅤㅤZ. K. Amano Hashidate (who goes by “Amano Hashite” at Yumenosaki) begins her speech. >

Amano Hashidate (Wataru): “Students of Yumenosaki.”
“No. I shall refer to you all in this way instead: My fellow students who are experiencing their days of youth at the same school as I.”
“As ‘Himemiya-san’ mentioned earlier, I’m a newcomer.”
“I’m a student who transferred to this school a few months ago. I’m a stranger – someone who has lived in another world from you all.”
“I understand that you may not be willing to listen to a newcomer who has appeared out of nowhere.”
“But the higher grade students should know this fact very well. The one who will change the academy into something new and meaningful is someone from the outside.”
“Yumenosaki Academy is an idol training school that has a long-standing history and tradition. We can remove the mould and moss growing here and turn the school into something beautiful and clean.”
“Of course, I’m simply a young girl and I do not have the ability to lead a dramatic revolution, nor can I provide you with the powerful leadership that ‘Himemiya-san’ speaks of.”
“I cannot be a dignified and strong king – an ‘emperor’.”
“I am a flag.”
“I am a single, fluttering flag who will accept your feelings that have taken the form of a breeze, swirling around Yumenosaki Academy.”
“A flag doesn’t need any power. But every time you gaze upon that flag, you will realise that we are indeed moving forward.”
“I wish to be such a flag. I want to be a landmark and guide for you.”
“I have no intention of becoming a threat to your lifestyles by oppressing you all with my authority and strict rules. I do not have the power to do that.”
“The ones who will change this school will be none other than yourselves. I am merely the symbol of everyone’s collective actions – I am a flag that will flutter in the wind, reflecting that.”
“No. That is exactly what I envision a student council president to be.”
“We are living in modern times now. It is not the feudal era, so there is no need for a king to proudly rule over the people.”
“That is my conclusion, my ideas and my message to you all.”
Touri: (Grrr~... That Amano Hashidate! She’s getting on my nerves!)
(She’s just faultfinding and keeps saying stuff like, “Unlike Himemiya-san”! Everyone’s bad impression of me is getting worse!)
(This isn’t a debate so I can’t give a rebuttal, either~! Geez, she’s stressing me out!)
(If you think about it, this Amano Hashidate girl didn’t mention anything specific!)
(She’s just saying flowery words and talking like she’s reciting a poem!)
(But the people listening are probably thinking that she’s saying something good, right?)
(Pay attention to what she’s actually saying! Do they even understand? Amano Hashidate is basically saying she’ll do nothing for you guys!)
(And we’re fighting for the position of student council president here!)
(She’s trying to weaken the position! She’s trying to turn it into something that doesn’t necessarily need to exist, like an empty box!)
(Is there any point in having that sort of student council? It’ll just be a waste of money!)
(I wanna give it to her straight!)
(Amano Hashidate is just pretending to be a good person – she’s grinning foolishly while people are moved, listening to her speech. I wanna jump out and beat them both!)
(But! That’s something I shouldn’t do, right? I know!)
(Even if I used direct violence to defeat them, that doesn’t mean I’ve “won”!)
(I need to make her properly lose in the election, and that will be the moment I’ll reject her!)
(I’ll break the “flag” that just stands there looking pretty and throw it away in the rubbish bin!)
(But can I win against her?)
(No wonder she’s called the genius of the Z. K. Zaibatsu – her speech was really good…)
(She’s nonchalantly causing my image to deteriorate by making fun of me while also doing a good job saying the things everyone wants to hear.)
(She’s turning the fact that she’s a new transfer student into one of her strengths, just like Anzu and her achievements last year.)
(Anzu really made a huge impact on those she took care of – Amano Hashidate included.)
(At the same time, the other new students in the “producer course” are emphasising their position and showing their sympathy.)
(She said they would be the ones who will change the old school.)
(That’s how she’ll get everyone, young and old, to like her.)
(If anything, I’m learning so much from her… How frustrating.)
(The Z. K. Zaibatsu and Tenshouin Zaibatsu were once longtime enemies. They were rivals of equal standing. That’s the sort of opponent I’m fighting against right now…)
(It feels weird, like I’m fighting against Eichi-sama.)
(They’re both heirs to conglomerates so I can’t help but think of her as Eichi-sama…)
Amano Hashidate (Wataru): (Hehehe. As they say, you learn, without realising it, from what is around you. It’s just monkey see and monkey do, but even I can imitate Eichi and give a speech in his style.)
(Eichi always chooses his words carefully in order to gain support from the majority in his speeches. That’s the optimal solution in winning an election.)
(It’s important to give the impression that they will gain something if more people vote for you and at the very least, they won’t lose out on anything if they do.)
(And in comparison to the prosperity brought by a lofty revolution that Himegimi proposed, the majority of the students prefer to maintain the status-quo.)
(Even if the faraway future is one of glory, if there is a small “obstacle” in front of them, they’ll avoid that path and choose another one entirely.)
(How lamentable – that is the true nature of humans.)
(If they wish to overrule that nature, then humans should have been given fuel.)
(They should be given a vehicle that will automatically take them to their destination as they stand there in silence and fuel to power said vehicle.)
(Just like how Eichi asserted that we, the “Five Oddballs”, were evil that should be defeated and that he could get rid of us if the students supported “fine” during the War.)
(But right now, Himegimi has not managed to present that sort of “easy-to-understand story”.)
(Naturally, no one knows what will happen in the future. It’s certainly possible for Yumenosaki Academy to suddenly close due to certain circumstances.)
(But you should have declared that like a prophet, and said that everything will definitely be fine no matter what happens in the future as long as they believe and support you.)
(Himegimi, you should have promised them that a rose-coloured future would be awaiting them, even if they were to sit still without lifting a finger.)
(Those who believe will be saved. That’s certainly untrue but that’s what you should have said to them.)
(Being honest and sincere is not always the “optimal solution”.)
(You think everyone will sympathise with you and come to like you if you sincerely tell them your feelings…? Why, that only exists in fairy tales.)
(There are times where skillfully lying is also seen as the correct thing to do.)
(If you don’t realise that and don’t act strategically, then at this rate, you will lose to me ♪)

Thank you other anon for explaining! I'm just autistic and curious and confused. The Regina George thing isn't upsetting. I just felt like I was "missing something". It's also been a long time since I've watched mean girls! You're right about Regina George being very outwardly nice and fake and I sort of forgot, to be honest, because we, as the viewer, are pretty consistently made very aware that she is mean, as well as her outward meanness expressed with a few people. Mithrun... Hm... No, that's an apt description in many ways. Anon who sent that, thanks for explaining. Mostly I want to know why that read is the read some people get and why it makes sense to them because personally, it was going over my head. I want to See Things like other people do, whether or not I ultimately agree or disagree. I want to Get It. Even a little. I do think he was only a mean drunk, consistently, and so maybe that's when the cattiness was clear with other people. And it is fun to think of him trusting someone enough to be vulnerable and mean and honest. I still don't see it in my vision, overall, but that is totally a fair interpretation, actually, and I wanted to understand the thought and intent. And I do! Really appreciate that. Thank you both.
Also, that aside, I also wanted, more than the ask and the understanding, to talk about the selfshipping of it all and the relationship that lives in my head. I love the idea of him, like, bullying me into being mean because it's honest. A solid stare and a raised eyebrow. Pushing me to tell the truth. He'll literally do it until I say one thing I hate, I think. Mithrun goes "I'll make her worse", but he doesn't, not really. I can still maybe point out one good thing about every outfit, but he opens me up to how critical and judgmental and faultfinding I am, and just accepts it because. Yeah. He gets it. And it's comfortable. It's not like we're bad people, and he doesn't care, and secretly, neither do I, especially not when I'm comfortable. And he's a bully. A force of personality. To me :(
I love him, though. It's funny, God bless.
I feel u! The love and passion you have rly comes through and I think it’s a lovely idea to want someone despite knowing their negatives and imperfections. I think that’s a must for a relationship with Mithrun tbh (any relationship rly)

Least Amount Of Stupid
“Whoever is simple (easily led astray and wavering), let him turn in here! As for him who lacks understanding, [God’s] Wisdom says to him, Come, eat of My bread and drink of the [spiritual] wine which I have mixed. Leave off, simple ones [forsake the foolish and simpleminded] and live! And walk in the way of insight and understanding.” Proverb 9:4-6AMPC
Have you ever done something stupid? After we’ve seen the end result of what we did, we hold our heads in our hands, moaning, ‘what have I done.’ Growing up, Dad often quoted, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 14:12ESV. The way of the lie is so easy to follow. Where we are in history, the popular way, leads to death and destruction.
I had a crazy notion, when I became born again in Christ— automatically I was wise. Yet I can look back over the years and see stupid mistakes. Time and again, Jesus has had to bail us out financially. Decisions made concerning our children didn’t bear good fruit. Where did the frequent wrong ideas come from? Years of not consulting Christ, instead doing things the way that ‘felt right.’
Changes had to take place in me. “The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding” Proverbs 9:10AMPCAlthough I loved God, I hadn’t revered Him enough to begin seeking consistently His ways. Too much was done on the move without prayers for instructions.
Instructions are given in James 1:5-8AMPC “ If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him. Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides]” James 1:5-8AMPC. My prayers became, ‘Lord I don’t know how, give me wisdom.’ Changes began to form in the results of decisions made.
When we waffle back and forth between two ideas we’re “simple.” The GNT of our text reads, “ignorant people.” Kenneth Copeland translates this scripture as ‘stupid.’ Bishop’s Bible 1568 writes “Who so is without knowledge,” sounds like Copeland might be right. Wavering back and forth is stupid and I’ve been there.
Most of the devotionals, the Lord leads me to write, are about— ‘I’ve tried the wrong way. God’s way is better.’ At my age, I want the least amount of ‘stupid’ as I can possibly have. In our society today, Believers can afford ‘stupid’ even less than in years past. We’re to be as little Jesus Christs walking around doing what Jesus did. There’s not one verse indicating Jesus did things ignorantly. He was always on top of every situation. Make a pledge to yourself today to seek God’s wisdom before finishing your next sentence; completing your next chore, or doing anything. Or not. It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: Almighty God, God of wisdom thank You for making wisdom available to us. We don’t have to live in a world of constant mistakes. All we need to do is ask You for wisdom. Lord, please give us the wisdom we need, in the name of Jesus Christ.

I hope, even though Tumblr culture inexplicably frowns on replies, you'll enjoy the critical rabbit hole I just went down.
I was going to say something glib about people mistaking dissection for destruction, much as they do analysis, which derives from the Greek for cutting-up.
But my lapsed classics major brain had a feeble nagging sensation that criticism derives from a root meaning something other than cut, so I reached for a favorite toy...
Origin and meaning of critic by Etymonline https://www.etymonline.com/word/critic
critic (n.)
formerly critick, 1580s, "one who passes judgment, person skilled in judging merit in some particular class of things," from French critique (14c.), from Latin criticus "a judge, a censor, an estimator," also "grammarian who detects spurious passages in literary work," from Greek kritikos "able to make judgments," from krinein "to separate, decide" (from PIE root *krei- "to sieve," thus "discriminate, distinguish"). The meaning "one who judges merits of books, plays, etc." is from c. 1600. The English word always has had overtones of "censurer, faultfinder, one who judges severely."
l
I had forgotten all about krinein, which is a very common ancient Greek verb. Plato and pals are always judging/deciding things.
The bit about grammarians sounds obscure, but it was a frequent problem before I fell out of the ivory tower: when faced with variant passages of texts copied by hand down through the centuries, how do we determine the original? Is the spurious passage scribal error, or deliberate fabrication? It's the same sort of krinein we employ nowadays with AI-generated content, which explains why textual criticism took on a connotation of disdain.
Mainly, I'm delighted to learn the Proto-Indo-European root meaning "to sift, sieve." It gets at what you and I mean by criticism, and why we like doing it: by closely examining small elements that make up a work, we discover hidden treasures, fun nuggets and meanings that contribute to the whole.
i find it so interesting how people act like "critically examining a piece of media" is the opposite of "enjoying that piece of media." rip to you but i actually find it really enjoyable and compelling to dissect and think through the art i engage with

OCCUPYING OUR KINGDOM AUTHORITY
God is preparing overcomers – confident, bold, brave and mature children of God who understand their Christ identity and fully manifest His love and will upon the earth by discipling and equipping other Believers for the Great Commission. But many Believers are not experiencing this overcoming, abundant life, but instead are deeply wearied and discouraged.
Following are the three simple steps out of darkness and despair to advance toward the victorious life of an overcomer.
First: SEEK, ASK, AND KNOCK
We must ask for and seek God's guidance and divine light – for if we ask, we shall receive! As we seek, we shall surely find, as surely as the sun rises in the morning.
"Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:12-13
God is faithful to His Word and generous beyond what anyone can imagine! We must constantly seek to understand what God wants us to become -- His purpose for our life (our Christ dalling).
"Matthew 7:8 AMP - "For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, the door will be opened."
What God has made us places upon us an obligation to fulfill the purpose for which we were formed. The "sound" of our Christ calling should be nothing less than the driving force behind how we live our entire life. "Now you belong to Him who was raised from the dead in order that we might be useful in the service of God." - Romans 7:4
Second: SEEK REVELATION OF HIS WORD
Genesis 1:26 - "Let Us make man in Our image, to be like Ourselves; let man have dominion….over all the earth."
It has always been the Lord's intent to have a "people" who would have dominion authority on the earth. The word "dominion" (Hebrew - radah) means to prevail, rule, reign, to tread down."
Through Jesus Christ we have been given authority over the enemy and all that he would try to come against us with. The word AUTHORITY means LEGAL OR RIGHTFUL POWER, A RIGHT TO COMMAND OR ACT SO THAT GOD'S kINGDOM WILL DISCIPLACE THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS WHICH NOW OCCUPIES THE EARTH.
"Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you." - Luke 10:19
This holy hunger will drive us to seek the Lord on a much more increased level. Jesus states “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, uprightness, and right standing with God, shall be completely satisfied!" - Matthew 5:6 AMP
It is time for us to truly understand what Jesus has restored to us through the Cross which is the forgiveness of all our sins so we are always in right standing with God and always available to bear fruit that remains, thereby discipling and developing new Christians for Kingdom service. It is time for us to occupy our Kingdom authority so that we can occupy the earth and bring forth the Great Commission!
Third: CHRIST IS WISDOM
We must fully believe and act on the promise of James 1:5 (Amplified Bible): "If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him."
Asking is the key: we "have not" because we "ask not" (James 4:2). If you feel weary and discouraged, in need of wisdom and direction, simply ask for God's grace and guidance.
As we seek His PURPOSE FOR OUR LIFE and not just the benefits of "His hand," we will find that the more we know Abba Father, the more we will steward the love He is depositing in our heart as we abide in Jesus as we go throughout the day.
What does God require of us to obtain this wisdom? First we must have knowledge, then understanding (Proverbs 4:7) in order to be positioned in a place to receive wisdom.
The light and wisdom we seek from above are not to be found in human programs of education and psychology, or even in our common sense and good intentions, but only, exclusively, in the Person of Christ Jesus. "He has been made unto us wisdom." - 1 Corinthians 1:30. Indeed, "we have the mind of Christ" -1 Corinthians 2:16.
We create spiritual disorder when we insist upon living in our own self agendas and fail to embrace His command that we disciple the nations. (Matthew 28:19)
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20
You have a promised land for your life. God's promises in His word are key to you entering into the vision that God will be giving you. If you are in a desert God is ready to take you out! Time to move on from eating manna to bearing fruit that remains for God’s ever-advancing Kingdom.
