every time anyone that's even slightly critical of C3 calmly writes a post that's longer than 750 words in an attempt to unpack what they feel is not working in the campaign or what's happening in the fandom, there's a rash of its defenders going "why are the haters always writing these long posts all the time, we don't need anyone to be writing novels, why is the post so long. it's so ridiculous that anyone is writing essays."

personally, especially if I was trying to position myself as having intelligent and complex opinions and capable of paying attention to episodes that are five hours long on a weekly basis, I would not admit I thought 1.5k words was dissertation length.

it's especially funny because many of the same people keep stamping their feet that critics never explain their perspectives or stances, then they're mockingly dismissive when doing so doesn't fit into a tweet.

not to make it sound grave, but it's anti-intellectual, it's simplistic. above all: it's juvenile, childish, asking to be treated as a child. wah, so silly anyone could possibly have a meaningful thought that requires enough space it doesn't fit on my phone screen at once.

"Don't act like you didn't expect to see me here," Blake slurred out as he stood in the doorway of her dressing room, watching her through the reflection of the mirror. He'd done this with her plenty. Go to the club she worked at, get drunk as he watched her perform, then pester her until he got a response he liked. It was repetitive, but it was a game Blake found himself playing over and over. "I know you were waiting for me. You always do. Why else are you always the last to leave?" He smirked at her, twirling a half-empty glass in his hand. "Why don't we leave together tonight? Just you and I, a casual moonlight stroll... Or we can say fuck all of that cookie-cutter bullshit and cut to the chase." He lifted the cup to his lips, taking a long sip from the straw. "Your choice, princess. It'd be a shame for either of us to spend the night alone."

What did all of this mean? That was a question that Serkan Balik had thought far too many times since the yacht party had ended. One thing after another seemed to keep his mind occupied. Was it The Family's way of proving their power - though if that had been the case why had Cami been shot? Unless Kurtlar's own dirty civilian had ruined the plan.. Serkan hadn't quite thought that that was a possibility. So many questions filled his mind, his fingers drumming on the car top as he sipped the beer in front of him. He just needed a game plan. "I wouldn't get too comfortable there." he stated, eyes not even focused on who had sat next to him. Dazai is like "ITS A PRANK!!! HAPPY APRIL FOO- wait NO???? that was NOT HOW THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO GO WE ARENT ACTUALLY DATING" and the ADA goes "uh huh. sure."

Mary   stopped,   turned.   Her   face   was   a   practiced   mask   of   indifference,   but   her   eyes   flickered   with   interest.   She   took   a   bite   of   the   apple,   felt   the   sweet   tang   flood   her   mouth,   and   savored   it   before   answering.   ❝   Nothing   more   important   than   making   sure   you’re   not   getting   too   comfortable.   ❞   She   said.   Her   words   were   sharp,   but   there   was   a   teasing   lilt   to   them.   She   bit   into   the   apple   again,   this   time   more   thoughtful,   and   stared   at   him.   ❝   What   does   being   around   me   remind   you   of,   anyway   ?   You’re   not   getting   nostalgic,   are   you   ?   ❞   It   was   a   genuine   question.   They   seemed   to   spend   quite   a   bit   of   time   together   talking   since   their   first   meeting.   She   couldn’t   help   but   wonder   what   he   made   of   it   all.   She   finished   the   apple   in   a   few   quick   bites   and   lobbed   the   core   into   a   trash   can   without   breaking   her   stride.

A triple date with her parents, though...Elaine wasn't sure what to expect. "We still have a while before Azula and Natalie show up, so..." Elaine shot a glance toward the window that looked into the kitchen. Her parents were distracted; they had time alone. "Maybe now you can tell me about your talk with papi?"
