Day 8/100 days of Productivity
9th April, 2024
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Academia
Did my basic math revision sheet. Got all those things right which I used to get wrong, but got those wrong which were right in past revisions. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I did 98 questions of Chemical Coordination and 77 of them were correct and 21 of them were incorrect.
I really like such quality short videos which are rare on the Indian science stream scene when all I see is 40 minute long lectures for simple short topics😭😭. I watched this video on law of definite proportions. (Fun fact: this law states that any chemical compound will have the same ratio of mass of the elements wherever you find them.)
Did the next 30% of ncert line by line video on Chemical Coordination with my NCERT textbook.
Made a revision sheet for Mole concept and did some questions.
Watched a video to get clearer on calcium homeostasis.
My goal for this week is to complete 10 Chapters of Chemistry and atleast 15 Chapters of Biology. And Physics lectures daily.
Non Academia
Watched this video on thinking errors that we all have and its based on Thinking Fast and Slow by David Kahneman. I should read that book. What's fascinating is that I saw an article a few days ago where David Kahneman says that he failed to follow his own advice.
This video essay on Machiavelli where the narrator said that its dangerous to subscriber to Machiavellian ideas but its also dangerous to completely ignore them. Which is so true and so wonderful. Overall, it is a very beautiful introduction to who was Machiavelli and what his ideas originally were.

Today is the first day of Nau Devi (नवरात्रि). Today is Goddess Shailputri's day. Shailputri (शैलपुत्री) is the daughter of the mountains. We keep a fast on the 9 days but since it's exam time, I'll only be keeping a fast on 1st and last day. Also, it's my first time keeping a fast during Nau Devi. | Good day, it was. Very peaceful. Nowadays bhakti has been bringing me so much peace. I got up earlier today and took a bath before 7 am, which is new for me. And I'd be doing this for the next 8 days, hopefully forming a habit. I feel cleansed.

Communing with The Gods: Intuition & Interpretation (TW: Trauma)
"Why are you continuing your attempt to find spiritual comfort in women, when that is a wound you are still healing from? Why, in leaving Hindu spirituality, are you making the same choices in Hellenism and expecting a different result? If Hestia cares for you, She is not going to perpetuate this cycle - if Hestia cares for you, She is not going to allow you to continue down this path."
Recently I have been attempting to incorporate more Hellenic Paganism into my everyday life, and part of this has been in offering acts of devotion. A couple of weeks ago I made the decision to start offering various household chores as devotional acts to Hestia.
In my teen years, I worked with Hestia informally; so when I began to delve into Hellenic Paganism I thought Hestia would be a good entity to establish a formal relationship with.
So, a week ago - before beginning the chores I had for the day - I would light a candle, invoke Hestia in the traditional style, and present for Her the act/s as a devotional offering.
I did this for 3 or so days, but each time I did - I felt an emptiness. Instead of feeling like there was any additional energy with me during my invocation or while doing my chores, I felt entirely alone.
When working with deities in the past (say Apollo or the Hindu Goddess Shailputri) I would usually feel some kind of energy with me during my work. This energy could be subtle, like a warmth or joy, or overt like the feeling of an entity sharing space with me.
When these feelings didn't occur - to me, it felt like Hestia was ingoing me; I felt like I had knocked on Her door and She had opened it a crack only to shut it in my face.
This really upset me; I felt extremely rejected and didn't understand why Hestia seemed to want nothing to do with me.
And then, last Sunday, it finally all clicked.
[Additional Context: When I first began my Hellenic Pagan practice, I decided that (in addition to Hestia)  I wanted to work with Apollo. This was the first "male" or "masculine" entity I have worked with in almost the entire tenure of my time being a Witch and a Pagan (which now spans over 10 years). I come from a Roman Catholic background, and due to religious trauma I am very hesitant and wary of male entities and male deities specifically. However, as a musician, artist, and queer man - I feel a great affinity for Apollo and the areas of life He presides over.]
So back to Hestia. What I thought was rejection from Hestia was actually Her, in Her own way, sending me a message that I initially was too upset to hear.
(I'll explain how I came to this conclusion in a second) but what I realized was, that Hestia was trying to say to me was:
"You need to work with Apollo and take a break from working with female deities. You're in pain and you can't heal if you continue to rely on the cause of your wounds (mother figures). I am not rejecting you, I am trying to show you that now is not the time for you to work with Me."
This realization, I'll be honest, felt like a punch to the gut (in a good way). It felt so affirming and awe inspiring to realize that I was being answered - and that what I needed to do was actually listen for what was being said instead of what I wanted to hear.
How I Came to This Conclusion: Given what I had already experienced in the past with Shailputri and Apollo, what I was experiencing with Hestia elicited confusion - and also made me doubt my past experiences. So, I decided to think critically about the situation. I first examined if maybe it was what I was offering was the problem - maybe Hestia didn't like me offering the act of doing the dishes since that act is so heavily associated with water? Okay, if that was the case, why would She reject all of the other offerings that had no significant ties to the elements? I came to the conclusion that what I was offering wasn't the issue - so I continued to reflect on the experience. A day or so later I was having a conversation with my partner (in the kitchen) after therapy, discussing a variety of topics, but the one that stood out was my discussion of the trauma I have/had experienced at the hands of women over the past 3+ years. It was during that discussion I felt what I can only describe as a mental tap on the shoulder. I didn't hear any voices in my head or see any physical signs, but mentally I felt like several different puzzle pieces I had been trying to lay flat fit into place. "Why are you continuing your attempt to find spiritual comfort in women, when that is a wound you are still healing from? Why, in leaving Hindu spirituality, are you making the same choices in Hellenism and expecting a different result? If Hestia cares for you, She is not going to perpetuate this cycle - if Hestia cares for you, She is not going to allow you to continue down this path"
Since beginning this journey into Hellenic Paganism, I have found myself in awe of The Gods - how They communicate with me - and how brutally honest They are. A lot of people like to give The Gods the "✧・゚: *✧・゚:* 0w0 ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*" treatment, but (in my experience) The Gods are so much more complex than we give Them credit for. And They can be a lot more blunt than you might assume.
---
Praise be to Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth, Goddess of the Home - You have guided me towards a better path and for that I thank You.
Praise be to Apollo, God of Music, God of Art - I aspire to demonstrate my devotion and admiration for You, and continue on this journey of building Kharis with you.

Chaitra Navratri 2023: Rituals,Yoga, Days And Pujas To Perform
Tumblr media
Navratri is a significant Hindu festival that is celebrated for nine nights on the Indian subcontinent during autumn. Traditionally, there are four seasonal Navratris, and the Sharada or Shardiya Navratri is celebrated after the monsoon season in remembrance of the Divine Feminine Devi. During this time, Hindus perform the customs and rites of Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja, which are considered to be the two most frequently observed muhurtas. Chaitra Navratri 2023 is particularly significant as it falls during the Shardiya Navratri, and Hindus observe the customs and rituals of Ghatasthapana and Sandhi Puja during this time.
The Navratri puja, also known as Vasanta Navratri, is a celebration that honors the sacred feminine Devi or Durga. Devotees worship and honor Divine Durga in her nine forms during this festival. The word "Vasanta" is derived from the Sanskrit language and signifies spring, which is when this Navratri occurs. It takes place during the Chaitra lunar month, which typically falls between March and April after the winter season. In some regions, this festival is celebrated after the spring season, while in others, it is observed after the harvest season. It is also significant as it marks the first day of the Hindu calendar, making it the Hindu New Year according to the Vikram Samvat calendar.

Chaitra Navratri is a festival where people worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga. They also try to find inner peace through meditation and seek happiness. During this festival, people also perform a ritual called Ghatasthapana or Kalash Sthapana. This involves setting up a sacred vessel for prayer. The Ghatasthapana Muhurta for Chaitra Navratri 2023 is from 06:23 AM to 07:32 AM.
Significance of Chaitra Navratri
Chaitra Navratri is an auspicious Hindu festival that commemorates the ultimate feminine form of the Hindu deity, Goddess Durga. She is regarded as Shakti, the most powerful feminine energy in the universe, and is worshiped with great devotion during this nine-day festival.
Navratri Puja is believed to bring immense wealth and fortune to those who seek the blessings of Goddess Durga. However, there are certain rules that the devotees must follow strictly, which include fasting without consuming grains, maintaining cleanliness, performing aarti and performing Ghatasthapana.

The first day of Navaratri is the day of Devi Shailaputri🙏 . The meaning of Shailputri means the daughter (putri) of the mountain (Shaila). She is differently acknowledged by the names of Sati, Bhavani, Parvati, and Hemwati. She is the absolute embodiment of the power of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahadev. The Goddess is represented with a crescent moon on the forehead, trident in right and a lotus on the left hand. She rides on Nandi bull.

The Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series
Part 2: The DýoDevi
[Link to Part 1]
Vada (Greetings)! Welcome to my Kaênaasthan Pantheon Series. In this series I will be outlining the Devis (Gods) in the Kaênaasthan Pantheon; their domains, affiliations, and what is sacred to them.
Today we will be continuing the series with the 6 DýoDevi - The Second Generation of Devis.
Cybele-Durga
Domain & Title: Devi of Protection & Strength Body Part: Breath Element: Fire Planet: Saturn Sacred Colors: Red, Gold Sacred Flowers: Hibiscus Sacred Animals: Tigers, Bees Food: Rice, Kheer Syncretisms: Cybele, Durga Symbol: 🜂
When Gaia-Shakti broke free from the grasp of Pontoris-Varuna - the first mountain was created, and from this Cybele-Durga came to be. Originally, Cybele-Durga was the Devi of the Mountain - but she relinquished this domain when Devi Shailputri was born. She then became the Devi of Protection and Strength.
She had one consort, Kronos-Brahma, and with him brought one Devi - Jupiter-Brihaspati, the Devi of the Just Skies and Weather - into being.
Phoibê-Sarasvati
Domain and Title: Devi of Prophecy and Knowledge Body Part: Eyes Element: Water Planet: The Sun Sacred Colors: Yellow, White, Blue Sacred Flowers: Lotus, Magnolias Sacred Animals: Ravens, Swans Food: Citrus Fruits Syncretisms: Athena, Phoibê, Sarasvati Symbol: 👁
Phoibê-Sarasvati was the second of the DýoDevis. When Pontoris-Varuna asked the first question in existence, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos moved to provide the first answer - but their words collided and brought Phoibê-Sarasvati into existence.
Her consort was Koios - and from their love the Devi of Family and Marriage, Lêta-Parvati, came to be.
Kronos-Brahma
Domain and Title: Devi of Time Body Part: Knees Element: Air Planet: Jupiter Sacred Colors: Bronze, Grey, White Sacred Flowers: Brahma Kamal Sacred Animals: Cranes, Spiders Food: Water Syncretisms: Chronos, Kronos, Brahma Symbol: ⴵ
In the Kaênaasthan Creation Myth, after hearing the Atakeía Pahala (the first Prophecy) Pontoris-Varuna once again attempted to take control of the world. Ouranos rushed to save Gaia-Shakti, and from their union Kronos-Brahma was born.
Kronos-Brahma originally ruled the domain of Time as a tyrant, but was brought to his knees by humanity. Before this time he was referred to as the Devi of Chaotic Time - but following humanities efforts he became known as the Devi of Sequential Time.
Kronos-Brahma's consort was Cybele-Durga, together the two brought Jupiter-Brihaspati into existence.
Koios
Domain & Title: Devi of Direction Body Part: Right Hand Element: Earth Planet: Earth Sacred Colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue, Brown Sacred Animals: Hawk Food: Stone Fruit Syncretisms: Koios, Plus Symbol: +
Koios is the twin brother of Devi Kriôs. When Kronos-Brahma sought to hide from the PrótaDevi, fearing they would take away his power, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos searched the entire world for their lost progeny. From this search, the domains of Direction and Constellation were created - and so too were Koios and Kriôs.
Koios' consort was Phoibê-Sarasvati, and together they brought into existence Lêta-Parvati. However, after the death of his twin Kriôs, Koios became a hermit - leaving his consort and celestial family behind in favor of a life of Dhyanmos (Kaênaasthan Meditation).
Kriôs
Planet: Pluto Element: Air Domain and Title: Devi of the Unnamed Stars Sacred Colors: Black Syncretisms: Krios, Crius Symbol: ✦
Kriôs is the twin brother of Devi Koios. When Kronos-Brahma sought to hide from the PrótaDevi, fearing they would take away his power, Gaia-Shakti and Ouranos searched the entire world for their lost progeny. From this search, the domains of Direction and Constellation were created - and so too were Koios and Kriôs
After the fall of Ouranos, Kriôs attempted to steal Ouranos' severed penis (thinking it would give him power). This attempted theft, and the fight that ensued between Kriôs and the Devi Amiatê-Varuni, create the Devi of Chaos and Disorder - Persês-Rudra. The battle ended with Kriôs' death at the hands of Amiatê-Varuni; in this Kriôs is not considered a living deity and is not actively worshipped in Kaênaastha.
Amiatê-Varuni
Domain and Title: Devi of Water Body Part: Thighs Element: Water Planet: Neptune Sacred Colors: Blue, Green, White Sacred Flowers: Water Lily, Seaweed Sacred Animals: Sea Turtles Food: Raw Seafood Syncretisms: Amphitritê, Eurybia, Varuni Symbol: 〰
The only daughter of Pontoris-Varuna, Amiatê-Varuni was born when her father realized the errors of his ways in helping Ouranos - and joined Gaia-Shakti as her consort. Amiatê-Varuni is a powerful goddess whose domain includes all the oceans and seas of our world.
When Kriôs attempted to steal the severed penis of Amiatê-Varuni intercepted him - and from their collision the Devi Persês-Rudra was born. Kriôs and Amiatê-Varuni's battle ended when Amiatê-Varuni destroyed Kriôs.
Following this battle, to fill the void left by Kriôs , Amiatê-Varuni was given the gift of a child; Devi of the Moon and Stars - Asteria-Chandra.
