"Francophile namesakes" and Dave Gorman

Comedian Dave Gorman, who makes 'documentary comedy' has worked with his name as a subject for a project. in 'Are you Dave Gorman?' he followed a chain of people named Dave Gorman, beginning with a Scottish football manager. The phrase "francophile namesakes", which Gorman had on his website, was a Googlewhack for a period, and when this wa spointed out to him, Gorman developed another projectr trying to follow up on other Googlewhacks. These projects from the early 2000s would be more difficult and also messier in the current state of the internet. This memory of Dave Gorman os part of the material Shelley Hodgson and I are working with in our radio show for Soundart Radio's First Spark Festival 2025.

Late night doodle of my latest fandom obsession

Yes the slamming against the wall, yes the push onto the couch, yes the pulling the underwear with his teeth, yes the nod of consent. Absolutely!! They're very deserved popular highlights of a scene that is perfect from start to end.

But as someone who had rewatched it on loop for days, can I offer you some more? It`s not like we have achieved full insanity with this scene yet. There`s more potential to it. There`s infinite potential to it.

So here are my personal highlights:

Joke's smug grin before kissing Jack

Jack's indentations on Joke's torso

The force with which Jack threw those pants,, (and Joke. And Joke's little expectant expression for the cherry on top)

Joke wetting his lips before kissing Jack again

Jack grabbing Joke's chin to pull him back into a kisskjdfl,kmnd,lmddf (this one made me Especially insane)

Joke biting his lips AND Jack once again grabbing Joke's chin like THAT I swear to god I fully expected a small slap after it I think I'd have instantly passed away if it happened

Am I the only one who lost their mind for these extremely specific and small details? No? Good.

I see a lot of redraws of this going around! It’s a rather difficult perspective to wrap one’s head around tho tbh especially since I don’t get much perspective practice lmao

I will forever live in sadness knowing that I tried so hard on the background only for my favorite tower to be almost completely covered up in the final result,,,,,

Like look at that tower on the second to left,,,,,

Anyways I do feel as if I’ve unintentionally made him pointier than I usually draw him but it was a good practice on both the perspective and some quick rendering :) I’m pretty happy with this piece
