MEDITAR

Aprender a meditar fue un challenge que venía postergando desde el año pasado (2019) por “falta de tiempo”. Como siempre estoy ya sea estudiando, trabajando o ambos al mismo tiempo, no “tenía el suficiente tiempo” para poder realizar otras cosas (tiempo de ocio, hobbies, pasiones, etc) de mi interés. 

Hasta el año pasado creía que la meditación era una práctica con 0 resultados, que no me ayudaría a nada, que no serviría de nada llevarla a cabo y creo que por eso inconscientemente la postergaba y la postergaba. (Qué mal concepto de la meditación tenía en mente).

Sin embargo, en esta cuarentena, debido a la pandemia he vuelto a reencontrarme conmigo misma, con mi Centro. ¿Cómo? Mi mundo en la Meditación empezó gracias a Mar Del Cerro, una Coach de Bienestar y Guía Espiritual mexicana, quien todo el mes de abril realizó meditaciones en vivo a través de sus redes sociales. Por lo que comencé a sintonizarla desde su cuenta en Instagram (@mardelcerro) y desde entonces no he parado de seguir sus meditaciones día tras día. Mar, al ser especialista en esta práctica, sabe llevarla muy bien a su audiencia. Por lo que si estás pensando también en incorporar este hábito en tu día a día o de manera interdiaria, sintonizar a Mar es una genial opción. Yo medito siempre de 10 a 20 minutos antes de comenzar mi día.

HACER EJERCICIO

Mi vida ligada a los deportes comenzó desde muy pequeña. Desde los 13 años incorporé el hábito de hacer ejercicios ya sea haciendo algún deporte o bailando y no me arrepiento en absoluto. Cuando comencé en ese entonces no era totalmente consciente de todos los beneficios que esta práctica podría traer a mi vida. 

Hay una cita latina que me encanta: Mens sana in corpore sano. La cita completa es:

Orandum est ut sit mens sana in corpore sano (Sátira X, 356). Su sentido original es el de la necesidad de orar para disponer de un espíritu equilibrado en un cuerpo equilibrado; no es, por tanto, el mismo sentido con el que hoy en día se utiliza: "mente sana en un cuerpo sano". Es por ello que hasta el día de hoy continúo con esta práctica, la cual considero aporta infinitos beneficios para tu vida los cuales te permiten vivir en equilibrio. 

Personalmente sigo a Natalia Arcila, una influencer colombiana que tiene muchos videos en su canal de YouTube (@natyarcilaz). Natalia, mejor conocida como Naty Arcila, comparte material no sólo en relación al mundo fitness sino que además tiene videos en relación a la buena alimentación y nutrición que le podrías brindar a tu cuerpo si deseas mantener una buena salud💪

My First Entry

Actually, I first sign up for a web platform four years ago. I remembered my domain name then is cheapskate chronicles because of me being a cheapskate. But I later deleted the domain when I googled that somebody is already using that title for a blog. So I created another one which is what I use today but it took me two years to write two blog posts and deleted it.

Now I'm going to continue what I have started. I learned that I have a knack for writing way back my college days whenever we have to write reflection papers, to my surprise I always get a grade of 90+. Then I tried applying for the school newspaper, they told me to pass five of my writing works to qualify. After a few days, I decided not to continue because, during that time, I was already taking some of my majors that I don't have time to participate in the publication. In those times, all I was devoted to studying like it is a matter of life and death. That it's fine to get a grade of 1.0 which is equivalent of a D rather than to fail then repeat the subject. I am an average joe mostly my grades fall on 89-80% which are satisfactory with two or three 90+ and two 79% usually in math related subjects. 

During one of my final semesters, I had a talk with a friend that I wanted to blog particularly be a fashion blogger like my idol Tricia Gosingtian. My friend advised me that I need a lot of money to be able to blog as bloggers, they need money to buy new sets of clothes all the time. Well, I also thought that I am an awkward 20 years old back then and also I am not photogenic which fashion bloggers should possess. At that time, it was circa 2011, there are a sizable number of blogs back then but not as many as we have nowadays were almost everybody is a vlogger or blogger. Back then Bryanboy was already famous as his blog started way back 2005.

After I graduated, I helped out in our family business up to this day.  During my free time, I read newspapers, magazines, books and anything I could get my hands on. One of the reading materials I love to read is Inquirer, it is one of our national newspapers where we Filipinos get a dose of daily news. One of the columns there caught my eye which is the Young Blood column. It is a column in which the writer is 30 and below. They could write anything from day to day life, musings, random thoughts, heartbreak, adulting and many more. I find inspiration and amusement reading stories written by ordinary people because their articles are very relatable. It is a breath of fresh air from reading news. That is the reason that I want to write because it gives me satisfaction and I want others to read it which could spark conversations.

Présentation

Après m’être retourné le cerveau pour savoir quel devait être mon premier article et du coup n’avoir rien écrit depuis des mois que j’ai créé ce compte, je me suis dit que le plus simple, c’était de faire une petite présentation de ce que vous allez pouvoir trouver ici une fois que j’aurais débloqué mon angoisse de la page blanche.

Donc pour résumer, j’ai 33 ans, on m’en donne 25 ans, je vis comme une ado, j’adore les livres donc il pourrait y avoir quelques critiques littéraires par-ci par-là, j’adore les films et les séries tv donc même remarque que précédemment, les jeux vidéos, j’ai deux adorable spitz allemands, une compagne qui supporte mes conneries, je fais des crises d’angoisse depuis 10 ans, je collectionne les pop, je râle like a lot, sur tout, je supporte pas les gens, et il y aura donc beaucoup de ça.

Je me tâte encore à traduire tous les articles en anglais, c’est sûrement un peu prétentieux de penser à ça alors qu’il n’y a pas encore de lecteurs … Je suppose que la réponse à cette question peut attendre un peu.

Je prends avec joie les “commandes” donc si vous voulez que je parle d’un sujet en particulier … lâchez-vous.

My first published article on @unreadmag! 📲 This piece was so wonderfully difficult to write. 💡 Wonderful, because it is on of my goals in life to de-stigmatize mental illness. 💡 Difficult, because I still have a huge fear of being judged on my shortcomings. 💡 But like I said in the last part of my piece. These pictures are a little late, but last Thursday I went into the office all day and was so excited to be able to work on my two articles for the Zoe Report that will be coming out this week and next week! 6 years ago @jaym3r @designrehab and I headed to China to meet with our footwear manufacturers. Landed in Hong Kong at 6am, and met with friends for early dim sum. We got hooked up to stay at Cathay Pacific's corp hotel, and headed out. We pushed through the day visiting all our favorite shops and had an amazing Peking duck dinner in Kowloon. Went to a couple of bars and got word LTJ Bukem was playing, without hesitation we went and found ourselves in a room packed and it was jumpin, literally. We didn't get back till the sun was up, needless to say we missed our flight to inland China. Feeling bad about ourselves we bit the bullet and went in on a suite at The Mira. Had an elevator encounter with a beautiful woman, but I digress. That evening we took it easy and had some street food and some beer while we planned how'd we get into China. In the AM we decided to take a train to the border of HK and China. At the border we somehow got propositioned to get a ride to Guangzhou airport by a man and I'm guessing his wife who didn't speak English. It's also worth noting that Barry was suffering from a pretty bad sickness along with the hangover we all had. We finally get to the airport and was on our way. When we finally got to our contacts and toured various factories they happily invited us to celebrate International Women's Day with them. We enjoyed a feast and killed a few carts of beers. Add a drinking game or two and we had an amazing time. After a week of being there we went back to HK then into Manila. I look back and appreciate how lucky I am to be able to do what we did and go through those experiences with some great friends. I'll always appreciate those times. Since then I've been back many times with various friends and always have amazing times. First Article!

Hi lovies!
