Another anon's two-cents if you'd like,

I think it's okay and even good that it might be frustrating. It makes a ton of sense for a game about healing to have frustrating moments because healing itself not garunteed to be a smooth or even linear process which IS frustrating when you just want to heal and return to normalcy. It isnt throwing a wrench in the works fot the sake of padding the plot or weighing down the pacing, it feels natural and serves a narrative purpose, lending weight to the idea that healing is a long, sometimes complicated process that isn't always smooth sailing. so the narrative, if anything, is advanced when mc encounters a potentially frustrating wall or set back. And not only does it make for an understandable and relatable story, but if you want to give potientially frustrated players a way to vent that within the story itself it could turn a frustration with the story's mechanicals or pacing to a way to empathize with mc.

Giving mc the chance to experience and react to setbacks through hope, frustration, or dejection in these situations literally builds their character, and being able to interact with that character building process in different ways depending on our mood or the kind of character we want to play through choices, even if its just an emotional response, is a big part of what makes interactive fiction so compelling in the first place!

It is why I have decided to go with this path, because as you said it fits the main theme of healing of the game, and healing is painful, frustrating and can bring one step forward and three steps back.

this is called an opposite color (ig,my art teacher taught me but I forgot the name) ,meaning that they aren't meant to be tgt

For example:red is opposite to green and blue is opposite to orange(you can see it on the wheel)

so I have been thinking........Frank and Eddie aren't meant to be tgt but they do love each other (the giveaway is that Clown uses "Esperar pra Ver" by Evinha to describe the relationship between Frank and Eddie and in that time,LGBT was forbidden so they separated them in the workshops ,but Clown sometimes shows their relationship outside of the Welcome home page)

and if you look up the personalities of these two favourite colours:

Yellow was meant a joyful,*kind* and had a funny sense personalities

Purple was meant royalty, full of passion and imagination, great in art(creative),*but the personality is quite sensitive so it's quite hard to know their true personalities.*

the personalities in these colors that they liked were meant to be each other.

Eddie is a helpful, kind person (in yellow)and he is great in arts and crafts(this is in purple which some of them represented his personalities )

Frank always frowns but if someone becomes his frds(like Julie ),He showed them a warm,KIND and quite JOYFUL(in yellow) personalities(and you can say he HAS a funny sense for A PAIR OF SOCKS), just like the description in purple as well(meaning that he is quite sensitive to show his true personalities to anyone but his friends)

They packed up each other's missing personalities (For examples:Frank's sensitive personalities (no offense)matches the purple personalities which was the only thing Eddie didn't have,Eddie's ultimate kindness (I know Frank might have but not as much as eddie)matches the yellow personalities which Frank MIGHT not have that much)THEY ARE LITERALLY LIKE A PUZZLE WHICH IS A PERFECT FOT FOR EACH OTHER

Eddie and Frank cannot not be tgt in the Welcome Home cartoons (just like the opposites of yellow and purple) but they would always love each other as in a relationship(fixed each other's missing colour personalities ) and this might be a unfinished love story due to the cartoons actually showed their love for each other(not that obvious )but we all know that something might happened to Eddie in the next update,just continued to be the opposite sides for each other like yellow and purple.(Frank actually sang a song which is a metaphor of him being alone in the end,meaning that Eddie won't be with him anymore)

these aren't actually a great group of musical instruments when it comes to group tgt as an orchestra (tbh,I would wonder how Sally will do and conduct music with these instruments, I tried but failed) .For an example, in Eddie and Frank,they won't be a great duet between those two instruments (they might but when I tried to find ONLY those two tgt,I only found a few)

At first I didn't pay much attention of these,but I might have watched too much Game Theory during these time which made me think of sth--does this actually meant about their friendship at the end.(Eddie was underrated and ignored,almost being controlled by home if it wasn't for Frank's help while Barney bullies some of the cast in welcome home,Frank began to sent help by sending videos for us to know about what happened in it,Wally is already being controlled and maybe something will happened to Julie due to the next update was related to her) their relationship almost like the instruments they played now-- some of them were not always matched or played well tgt.Their great relationships they had is beginning to corrupted due to Wally was in 'the control of Home'(I thought about that),making me feel like they are not the same as the original ones in their cartoons

I also really gotta add more characters to my art fight- including more FOT NPCs maybe ?? Maybe ??? I have one in particular I wanna do but I'm not sure how to do it bc I don't want Blue to see him bc he hasn't shown up in the campaign yet lol

For the actual campaign itself! I'm not sure where I left off lol. [Looks at that one long post] Ah! Session 7 it seems, then Blue sent some memes about session 8.

We haven't done any over the summer bc now we're 8 people total and also. Timezones. But! We ended on session 9, and holy shit were these some crazy last two sessions.

Brief session 7 recap:

Sadly, Hans's player couldn't come, so he canonically spends the entire session digging holes in the ground (... long story) and inspecting the mysterious magical skull he got after we raided the Order of the Five castle (where Sully buried that one person alive). However! For the first time, we have a new player who takes over playing Paul. Through this, the rest of the party goes on a wild goose chase to get a magical artifact with him except Anawrete, who visits her parents' place, and we get lore there. At the end of the session, Alloces goes off to investigate mysterious smuggler's den with ties to Anawrete at the Order of the Five castle and Silen follows him. It ends up having a tunnel leading off into the Underdark, and Silen loses sight of Alloces and starts walking down there.

That's session 7!

Now, session 8:

Sully, Paul, Mal, and after a minute Alloces go and reunite with Hans. Hans is outside the Shipbuilder's Guild, having dug a bunch of holes without finding what he wanted to (a lead brick we buried in like session 4ish) This is very concerning, bc it was supposed to be a message to a demon to kill this one guy (we were trying to solve a mystery and didn't know what else to do..... so we did that. Then we tried to unearth it bc we finished the mystery). Also, it wasn't supposed to disappear, even if it did work! So. Um?

However, the party decides that it's not that important, bc we're preoccupied with something else: the skull. Turns out Hans figured out that it's "locked" and that he can brute force unlock whatever magic it has inside it by blasting it with all four types of elemental magic at once. We figure out that between Hans, Alloces, Paul, and Sully, we have the needed elemental magic to do this. Unfortunately, Sully has suddenly become very up-in-arms, saying that combining elemental magic is against everything she believes in, and that she could never help with this. Hans refuses to listen, however, but he's stuck bc Sully is the only one with Earth magic in the party (and Earth magic is hard to obtain as a spell lol). Therefore, he decides to do something... not the greatest. He whispers to Alloces to use Suggest on her, and bc Alloces likes chaos, he complies. (Fun fact: ooc, I was actually the one to propose the Suggest idea. I thought it would be silly. <3) It works, and Sully now has to participate in this ritual against her will.

Meanwhile, Mal is watching all of this go down. She sees Sully rapidly change character, and realizes that something is up. She pulls Sully aside, asking if Sully is okay. Sully, unable to say otherwise, says yes, she's okay, she's just decided to do the ritual now. Mal fails her insight check, and decides that Sully must be okay if she says she is. Mal's player then does something which makes me go CRAZY insane and makes me want to chew on glass (/pos) and decides that NOW is the time to do a scene which she's been thinking about for a while. The Context: back in session 6 during our big fight, Sully got Mal out of death saves with a healing potion. Healing potions are a bit expensive, and Mal had her own which she didn't use before she got downed (overestimating her abilities), but Sully probs didn't even think twice and used her own on Mal. However, Mal obviously has been thinking about it, because she gives Sully that potion, then. Mal, very obviously very nervous, apologizes for "letting Sully down" and for being a burden during the fight, and not being strong enough to stay up herself. AND SULLY CAN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING BC SHE'S PREOCCUPIED WORRYING ABOUT THE RITUAL + BEING UNDER SUGGESTION. Mal then leaves very quickly, and Sully is left there, speechless.

Then the fucking ritual happens and we all unlock the Skull, and Sully snaps out of her Suggestion. The Skull has some kind of spirit inside it, and is filled with Aetheric energy (which......... happens to be something Sully ALSO is very against). Sully then starts yelling at Hans, telling him to drop the Skull and berating him for getting Alloces to possess her (she also hates Alloces but like. She's always hated Alloces. She really liked Hans. This is a betrayal of literally everything she believes in). The spirit of the skull starts speaking and reveals himself to be Logan Mortem, the original founder of the Order of the Five, and with that name Paul freezes as well. Apparently Paul somehow knows him- and is horrified. Then we fight bc Hans still refuses to drop it: Hans and Alloces versus Sully and Paul. Sully and Paul lose as we both roll very low lol (also Sully was mostly trying to knock the skull out of Hans's hand), and Sully, fuming, injured and panicking, decides to leave. Hans and Alloces have a conversation with the skull where it reveals some of its goals. Alloces apparently knows Logan, and Logan is maybe his dad/creator (????). Hans has been chosen to be the next heir of the Order of the Five apparently. Logan wants to "bring order to chaos". Hans is like. "hm. btw, you're not evil, right?" and Logan is like "........no." Hans is like "seems legit 👍". Paul tries to attack Hans one more time, this time with his moon staff (the artifact we were looking for session 7), but it backfires and hurts him somehow. After Alloces and Hans leave, its revealed that when it backfired, Paul got some of his memories taken from him and forgot what he was doing and where he was. He also leaves for the Shipbuilder's hall.

MEANWHILE. Silen is in the fuckin UHHHH Underdark.

When he's walking down, he hears a thunk behind him and ends up running further in. He keeps going down, and down, and down, until he ends up in the Underdark. Honestly, nothing really happens here except him hearing some Drow or Duergar and realizing that he's in the Underdark, and heading back up the way he came. However, when he comes back up, he hears voices in Common (rather than Undercommon). The group of people hear/see him, and they're wearing colorful robes of some kind and have a huge piece of stone in the shape of a body with them. He's like "haha hiiiii". The people, ofc, ask wtf he's doing here, and with his very poorly made excuses, they decide to take him with them. He tries to escape, and they stop him- and when they use elemental magic to stop him, he finally realizes that their robes look quite similar to Sully's.

They take Silen and the rock with them underwater with water magic, and they go into a cliff face opened to show another tunnel in the earth.

Switching over to Sully's perspective, she decides to head over to the Monastery, for the first time as shown in this campaign (tho I think somewhere she goes there and leaves a note about Ansa after session 6 before session 7 for continuity). The party knows nothing about it other than it existing. Even though she's shaken about the fight, she was planning to go here anyways, and talks to Jenevra, a water-aligned monk, saying she's here about the "Anatheme". Jenevra leads her to a secret passageway she's never been in before, and there, she sees, against all odds- fucking Silen.

Adreyão, the lead figure in the party of monks, says that Silen claims to know Sully. Sully, ofc, confirms it, but asks wtf Silen was up to. He really doesn't have a good reason, but Sully takes it as Silen being Silen (which it is), and she says that they can let him go. But before they do, she explains what happened with the fight, and warns Silen not to trust Hans or Alloces, saying that they've been corrupted and don't have his interests at heart. (Kind of unreliable narrator- Sully is very very biased, close-minded, and is actively working to split the party against the two of them). Silen... kind of believes her, but ofc refuses to acknowledge that Alloces is bad bc bro is head over heals in love (why).

Silen is led out by Jenevra, and Adreyão guides Sully through a ritual of their own. She drinks a mysterious liquid, and is suddenly able to change the stone into orange-tinted quartz, revealing what was inside the rock that they transported- Ansa. Chained and cast in crystal, Ansa is transported into a larger room, where many many others like her sit. Surrounded by countless Anathemes cast in ice or crystal, Sully feels much more calm than before.

For the rest of the session, it's a lot of character interactions as we all try to deal with all the shit which just went down (and PAUL LORE). Unfortunately, Anawrete missed all of it (sorry Blue :((( ) so a lot of it is catching her up as she's like I WAS GONE FOR TWO MINUTES.....

When we take a long rest, some people hear weird rustling and chaos coming from Paul's room, and Sully (+unbeknownst to her, Alloces's shadow) investigate and find papers everywhere and a weird blue stone, which the shadow takes.

Meanwhile, Paul sees Anawrete on his morning walk, and tells her a bit about his moon rod, then about the fight and shit which happened the other day. Then he tells her to go touch the rock up in his room, saying he's "not been quite honest".

All the party starts meeting up and chatting in the common room. Mal is chatting with Anawrete about her new fit, Silen is trying to dissuade Hans from the skull (telling him about it possessing him earlier and saying "abomination") (end of session 6 idk if I mentioned this lol), Sully walks in and tries to talk to Mal, but is distracted by the conversation of what the skull is where Alloces says some ominous shit. It's very tense, but Paul walks in, interrupting the conversation by saying "who wants scoOOOOnes :D" (LMFAO)

We briefly talk about the stone, which Alloces gives up. Apparently Paul is losing his memories and says that we can access them through the stone- but that he doesn't want to be there for it. Sully take the stone, and says she'll do it in a bit, then takes Mal to talk to her. (Honestly even tho it was in character I felt bad about being like NO LORE NOW but I'm glad we saved it for the next session bc it was a long sequence of events lol).

Sully and Mal have a conversation, where Sully first says the same thing she did to Silen- explaining the fight, saying that Hans and Alloces don't have their interests at heart, etc. She says that Mal was correct that Sully was not herself at the time, and thanks her for being there, and also says that... Mal never let her down. But Mal has been slowly getting more panicked as Sully has been talking, and says "but now I've let you down twice now! Because I didn't even realize you were influenced by them!!" and Sully doesn't even know what to say to that. She tries to reassure Mal, but it doesn't really work, and they. AUGH THEMMM PIX I'M SO UNWELL ABOUT THEM...... THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO COMMUNICATE FOR SHIT..................

Anyways, Silen and Anawrete talk, because she figured out that he was at the smuggler's den (tbh I forget how lol, maybs Alloces said it or just Silen himself). She interrogates him, and although he was VERY scared of her, he somehow doesn't mention that Sully's people were there, but he definitely throws Alloces under the bus. He then immediately runs to Sully and says that Anawrete lives there at the den (???) (she does not. bro was confused and scared out of his mind). Anawrete sees him talking to Sully (who mostly ignores him) and I think guesses that Sully was somehow related to all this.

However, at that moment Paul decides he wants to talk to Sully. They go off on their own, and have a very interesting conversation, where it's revealed that Paul definitely has a (negative) history with Logan and he's on her side. He says a lot of other ominous things ("you might have to become a demon to fight one" and "if I start feeling the effects of the skull, finish me off" are notable), and it's pretty obvious that they're against the skull for different reasons, but that they're on the same team.

Anawrete, with so much new info, goes back to her family complex briefly and talks to her mom about it. Her family has been tracking the Order of the Five and their movements, and found that the remaining troops have been heading up to Nortepont (a northern dwarf city), which is very interesting.

Finally, Alloces and Silen have a hilarious talk where Alloces tries to do a deal with him (favor for crossbow Alloces found in the den bc Silen is a ranger) and Silen's like "sure :D. As long as you take me to lunch again" and Alloces, done with this shit, decides against it.

AND THAT'S SESSION 8! SO MUCH SHIT WENT DOWN !!

But uhhhhh we've gone up to session 9. So. There's still more to talk about, though sadly I do not have the time rn. I will get to it later, and I hope you like this very long update!!!!

1. 7 Days before Valentine (1/12 WeTV)

Hm... This was not what I expected. The acting was a little bit over the top. I don't know if I can stand Sunshine. The feeling this first episode gave me was kinda off. I don't know. Right now I don't know if I want to keep watching it.

2. Bake me please (2/6 on Gaga)

This series is so good! I really like Ohm and Guide together. Guide is such a sunshine and I like his character! This series deals with a lot of baking and childhood trauma and a sunshine and grumpy main couple and I love it!

3. Boys Like Boys (8/10 on Gaga)

Okay, I am officially invested! The story of eight taiwanese men who are on the search for love. It is messy and funny and of course I have my favorites! I wish I had waited for the show to finish, because then I could have watched the final and know if I can keep my hopes up or not... And there are twists and turns and some butterflies and I can't wait for the next episode.

4. Cooking Crush (1/12 on Youtube)

I have to admit beside Not Me, I am not the biggest fan of OffGun. Their slapstick humour is just not mine. I can't get the right feeling for this series right now. I will wait and see how it turns out with more episodes...

5. Last Twilight (3/12 on Youtube)

I got fucking emotional when Mhok read from The Little Prince and they had this whole big conversation through the book and I am in tears just thinking about it. The Little Prince is very special for me.

6. Pit Babe (2/13 on Youtube)

Ladies and Gentlemen! We have an Omegaverse! I am still in shock! I usually don't dive into the omegaverse, but I did read some webtoons. I am curious how they'll play it out. The first episode... I don't understand shit! I have no clue, what is going on. There are intrigues going on and I don't trust Charlie at the moment. But I couldn't care less because: Pavel! He could just sit there or walk in his driver's uniform and I would be happy!

7. Playboyy (3/14 on Gaga)

I am intrigued! I needed to call my best friend and tell her about what I have seen. Not just the amount of sex and masturbation and wet dreams, but the way it is filmed. I am intruígued! It looks like a romantic dream combined with porn. And I am looking forward to next week and the weeks to come, because it is so interesting!

8. The Sign (1/12 on Youtube)

I am already in love with this series! Mystical elements, a good chemistry between the actors, some fighting, naked men... What else could I wish for... Oh yeah, and an accidental kiss 😂 But I still enjoyed it so much! And I can't wait fot next week!

9. Twins (4/12 on Gaga)

I don't know what it is. The story is... nothing special. The acting is okayish. Sprite's/Zee's facial expression need some time to get used to. And yet, I like this show! It is one of my most anticipated watches of the week. I like First and I LOVE enemies to lovers 😅 It is one of my weak spots!

1. I feel you linger in the air (12/12 on Gaga)

This is one of my favorite series from this year, if not the best one! It is such a good and well written story about love and building a home, trusting in love and people again, fight against the rules and love the people who deserve your love. I am not as heartbroken than I thought, but I miss them already, like five minutes after it ended. Jom and Yai's love is a love that can overcome all kinds of barriers like time and I love that so much! I love this series so so much! And they confirmed a second season? Now I am afraid and excited? A true 10 out of 10!

2. Dangerous Romance (12/12 on Youtube)

I like Perth and Chimon together, even though their characters can be a little bit cheesy or bromancy. Over all I liked the series, even though I was searching for the danger in the romance. It lost a litle bit of the tension in its second half. Not a bad series, but also nothing special. A solid 7 out of 10.

3. Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo / If it's with you (5/5 on Gaga)

It is sweet and has the typical japanese vibe, you know? The crickets and circades are very much present in the the background and it feels kind of cosy. My japanese vibe. The story itself is sweet. I like the fact that the Amane is open and sure about his sexuality, even though he has experienced homophobia and tries to hide behind a smiling mask. This is a really wholesome watch for the coming darker days. I gave it a 9 out of 10.

4. Kiseki: Dear to me (12/13 on Viki and Gaga)

Okay, this series started strong for me and got really messy and lame in the second half... Well, way before this to be honest. The only reason I was watching in the end were Ai Di and Chen Yi. Their relationship was such a great add up to this mess. Yes, it was messy and I wish they would have communicated earlier, but I love their tenderness and their love in the end. The main couple... I really couldn't care less in the end. And the story was... not that interesting and a little bit confusing at times. Overall an 7,5 out of 10 and that's because of Ai Di and Cen Yi.

5. You are mine (10/10 on Viki and Gaga)

The lovestory between a very demanding chef, who terrorise his employees and his easygoing new male secretary who can give good massages. And the lack of communication is really bothering me at this point. Instead of just going after your secretary, perhaps try and talk to him about your feelings? Argh... Okay, the last episode was just a display of affection and fluff and it was really cute. But it couldn't help a bad series to become a good one. They can kiss, yes, but overall it was not that good. So just a 5,5 out of 10 for me.

6. A Breeze Of Love (8/8 on iQiyi)

I love this one! It is short and cute and for once I understand the problem. The execution was a little whacky, but hey, I really don't care because it was just that cute! The two mains have very good chemistry and are believable. And I am totally in love with them. It has sport and kind of enemies to lovers so checks for me and it is korean. Yeah, that is definitely worth a watch and I guess I will rewatch it from time to time, whenever I need something wholesome and cute. A 10 out of 10 for me.

7. One Room Angel (6/6 on Gaga)

It started out as a very depressing series. It kept this feeling through the whole show, but it never said, that it has to be like that forever. There were always hints, that life can get better. That you are enough and that you are worth it, worth of living, worth of loving and worth of being loved. I mean it ended with this line: I received and was able to give. Even someone like me had something I can do. So probably, life isn't so bad." And that was the point where I lost it completely. A solid 8 out of 10 for me.

Movie

1. Aki wa Haru to Gohan wo Tabetai

This one is a sweet and quiet movie. Well the character Aki is not that quiet, but in this movie there is not that much drama or angst. It is stacked with food and I got so hungry watching it! The food really looks delicious! It is not a bromance. You definitely can see that these two love each other and there are so many hints, that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. And as far as I know there should be a second movie. Fingers crossed! For me a solid 7,5 out of 10

It’s my yearly tradition to bring back this old post of ranked performances to celebrate the birthday of this wonderful performer, so here we go! Updated this year with Into the Woods!

16. Nick Piazza in Fame

This show has some merits, although it’s definitely not one of my favorites. It’s Gavin’s professional debut, and I can forgive him some naïveté in an otherwise competent, beautifully sung performance. His rendition of “I wanna make magic” is lovely.

15. Charles Darnay in A Tale of Two Cities

Ok, so this was a concert performance, so it’s not really fair to compare it to the others, but I’ll just throw it in here. Mainly because it’s such an unusual show for Gavin. It’s something that tries very hard to be on the level of Les Miserables, without much success, and Gavin is not a huge fan of that kind of show. That said, it’s a nicely sung performance of a classic romantic hero role. Nice, nothing more.

14. Jean-Michel in La Cage Aux Folles

Great show, poor but still competent production. The role is easily the most boring in the whole play, but he gets to sing the cute “With Anne on my arm” and he nails it.

13. Troy in American Horror Stories

Oh this was a fun one, Gavin playing outside his comfort zone, far removed from his preferred genre and into an over-the-top, sexy role that is rather unique in his career. I wish the material he had to work with was better, but his scenes with Aaron Tveit were superb.

12. Hollis Bessemer in Bounce

Sadly a lesser show by Sondheim, I still love some aspects of it, and Gavin’s wide-eyed artistically-inclined dreamer is one of them. His big solo “Talent” is the best song of the show and touches me on a very personal level.

11. Matthews in Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure

Gavin voicing a Disney villain! A Disney villain with a secret! A Disney villain with a French accent! Talk about playing against type. There’s something of Kodaly here, and of Lumiere and of Pepé Le Pew. You can tell he had a blast recording this role, and the design is exquisite.

10. Cinderella’s Prince / The Wolf in Into the Woods

This is Gavin at his hammiest, and I’m here fot it. He obviously has loads of fun with the Wolf, oozing sleaziness from every pore, and as the Prince he’s perfectly balanced between superficial, phony and clueless, you can really believe that this candy-colors clothed fool was “raised to be charming, not sincere.”

9. Bill in Eloise at the Plaza / Eloise at Christmastime

Effortlessly hilarious on screen as he is on stage, he goes full-on old-time Hollywood star in the Christmas-themed sequel and I love it. A mix of Dick Powell and Fred Astaire.

8. Dr. Pomatter in Waitress

Sara Bareilles’ little gem of a musical often finds its strength in the absolute realness of its characters, flawed human beings looking for a little sparkle of happiness. Drew Gehling’s Dr. Pomatter was awkward and fun and sad-eyed, but I think Gavin wins infusing the character with tenderness and truly lived-in melancholy. A few weeks in a well-worn musical could be seen as a footnote in a great career, but it’s such a lovely performance, enhanced by the incredible chemistry he has with Bareilles.

7. Bert in Mary Poppins

My introduction to Gavin and since then I’ve come to appreciate him as heir to impossibly gangly male leads like Dick Van Dyke, so this feels like such a natural fit. I find the show a little bloated, but watch him defying gravity in that “walking on air” scene: it’s irresistible.

6. Ugly in Honk!

Having him play the ugly duckling ALSO feels like a natural fit. Gavin’s at his best when he plays lost and confused dreamers, and the fairy tale touch with the surreal setting makes for a wonderful variation on that theme.

5. Steven Kodaly in She Loves Me

Easily the odd man out of the list. The evil, scheming, suave and self-centered Kodaly is a delightful departure from all the romantic leads and clueless buffoons of Gavin’s career. The showstopper “Ilona” brings out all the manipulative nature of the character, a snake that always finds a way out and always gets what he wants. A remarkable performance that makes me want to see him branch out into even more strange territories.

4. Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie

Again with the old-time charm and humor. Millie is a show dominated by women, and Gavin’s male romantic lead manages not to be swallowed whole by them by being so wonderfully easy-going, hilariously aloof and occasionally sassy. It does also help that in “What do I need with love” he has one of the catchiest numbers of the show.

3. Cornelius Hackl in Hello, Dolly!

PUDDING. That alone deserved the Tony. It’s an overwhelmingly funny turn that makes the best of the original, almost vaudevillian nature of the show. So full of tricks and ticks and winks to the audience, deliciously aware of its own absurdity, it’s the kind of scene-stealing performance that not every actor can pull off. And oh my god, has anyone ever sung Jerry Herman’s beautiful tunes so gorgeously? You almost wish he could have sung “Put on your Sunday clothes” in its entirety.

2. Elder Price in The Book of Mormon

Somewhere between the rubber-faced humor of Jim Carrey, the earnest straight man hilarity of Jack Lemmon and the physicality of Dick Van Dyke. A perfect combination that captures the sarcastic, yet disarmingly sweet nature of the show, with its hints of meanness and self-devouring doubt.

1. Claude Hooper Bukowski in Hair

Unquestionably the masterpiece of Gavin’s career. A towering performance that starts with the iconicity of the role and the visuals associated with it and finds the core of Claude’s humanity: a scared, earnest, sometimes self-centered, mostly clueless young man that has to face something so much bigger than himself, something that is so far from the made-up world of fake accents and films in space that he has created for himself and that will eventually consume him. Moments like “Where do I go” and “The Flesh Failures” are moving and brutally honest.

So, I started writing down the ideas fot the one shots of Balance thinking I would arrive somewhere between 15 and 20.

So, counting that each one shot will be somewhere between 500 and 1000 words (or, between 1/8 and 1/4 of my regular chapters),

Whats your thoughts on the Order of the scribble's relationahip with their leader and Paladin Soon?

I was originally pretty lukewarm on the order, but the more we learn about them, more and more we see a picture of a group where pretty much everyone to some degree or another seems to have scapegoated Soon as the reason for all their problems.

Its an interesting take on a true paladin, who believed in the cause and was willing to give everything fot it, but nobody else understood him, or respected his dedication, because they needed an outlet for their anger, and Soon, stoic, dutiful and dedicated paladin that he was, served as the silent magnet for all their frustrations.

Soon certainly was not withouth his own flaws, and ultimately the order he founded would lay the groundwork for his own destruction, but I love how each of the other scribblers(Other than lirian anyway... The lady really needed more fleshing out with her relationships) saw what they wanted to see in him to justify their anger.

Durokan, a man who believed in developments, research and personal relationship far more than causes, saw a man who could only be doing the mission because of his anger for his dead wife, and not a man who genuinely believed in his mission(Which is ironic given Durokan ended up marching to his doom due to a pique of blind rage due to his own slain lover) because he was a good man.

Girard was a paranoid wreck with a messiah complex who could not get over himself regarding the fsct he was not in charge, and had such strong delusional distrust for authority and trusting other people that he could not fathom that Soon would never betray him, or his cause due to oaths he himself would break in a hearbeat(And in another case of irony, he would create a far more fanathical cult of personality dedicated around him personally than soon ever did).

Serini is absolutely pissed about the fact that Soon refused to play to her tunes, because he actually respected both the letter, and the spirit of the oath she convinced him to sign, as well as having deep personal issues about the fact that Soon by all metrics seems to have been the most powerful member of the group, given the way she takes such stupid delight in putting down the might of the surviving Azure Paladins.(the irony here being that she is far and away the weakest member of the scribbles, yet delights in tearing others down).

Its an interesting look into how people rather than working out their own issues, will often instead seek out a target that they can direct all their own flaws and insecurities upon, because that is so much easier than actual self reflection... Honestly it reminds me a lot about Belkar's relationship with V, especially pre-character development late in the series.

But whats your read on it all?

That's an interesting angle. I hadn't considered something like projection, but you raise some really good points about both the psychology and the dynamics with the modern Scribbles. Certainly, the Order of the Stick has been expecting to find true heroes and consistently been stymied- although in the case of Soon's Gate, it was more about Soon's heir failing to live up to the hype, rather than Soon himself. So perhaps the story is making even great use out of the out-of-universe reputation of paladins as a class than we realized.

This latest update got me to look back the original story of the Order of the Scribble, and I couldn't help but notice two things:

The first is the reminder of the Sapphire Guard's oath, so "Soon's support" could only have helped after the destruction of Soon's gate, so it's support that only could have come when things are at their most dire.

The second is that Serini at one point considered getting some classes in paladin- but was it out of admiration for him, or was she just putting an oblivious face on another way to needle him?

Combined with your analysis, I can't help but be reminded of Miko- both her inability to really fit in with the Order of the Stick and the fandom's reaction to her (as I was recently reminded of). If Soon indeed was turned into a scapegoat by the other Scribbles, I wonder if it's because he held himself apart from the rest of them and perhaps was as abrasive as Miko at one point. He's genuinely sympathetic to her when they talk, and perhaps the reason he can speak so eloquently about redemption is because he had to undergo it himself? Perhaps he really did have some flaws that created a rift with his compatriots, albeit they blew them completely out of proportion in the decades after they parted, and their separation meant his growth never was seen.

One of the reasons I wonder about this is the general theme of the comic about evolution/growth, and perhaps Soon himself is the only Scribble who was able to do so. But the story has also hinted at something more being behind Kraagor's death, since the Sticks know about it but Roy continues to wonder what really happened to break up the Scribbles, so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and there's something a bit more mundane in play. After all, as you note, Soon and his Sapphire Guard were very flawed, both with their destroyer coming from their own ranks and the whole thing with the goblin genocides and the legacy of Redcloak.

I think it was mentioned at some point that a prequel book was planned for the Scribbles, but couldn't be released until a certain point in the story was reached? I wonder if it has to wait for something close to the ending. Considering how great 'How the Paladin Got His Scar' turned out, I'd be happy to see how 'late career' Rich Burlew pulls all this together.

(As a random aside, wow does the GitP site need a makeover. The news blog is the front page, but it's been two years since there was news. OotS is the only comic, but it's off in a sidebar like it's one of several. The whole thing needs to be turned upside down and the comic made front'n'center.)

Few fans are mad that Jaehyun is not promoting Doyoung’s collab while he promotes Ten’s. As well as other members but specifically mentioned Jae. Honestly, I was kinda persuaded at first but I dont really follow Jaehyun’s ig to know his pattern. I just think ththe feeling of being betrayed is amplified this time because of how much jaedo moments have been happening recently and how vulnerable doyoung is at the concert. Expectations on them to prolong the moments. I hdk their dynamic on ig so🤷🏻

Do you think company made neos to do/dont to promoting members solo job? Or even do they tell the group about which neo got a solo job? Just curious. Or maybe im a bit bitter cuz DY rarely got a return favour whenever he has a new solo release. DY is the one who was so excited when Mark/Jae solo came out. They both post a support for 10 solo but said none to DY collab. It made me think are DY the one who told them to not openly promoting his job? What do you think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory isn't a very reliable thing, but I can't recall Jaehyun advertising Mark's Child or Yuta's movie on IG. An IG story for Ten might be a first? Jaehyun changed his attitude towards IG and communication with fans in general, he is much more into the idol job nowadays (as he finished overcoming his own issues and enough time has passed since the scandal).

Neos have their individual managers who update them. In lives you can often see neos arguing about the release of content, some know the dates, some don't. So yes, they need to be told or ask about it, show interest. Ten is Jaehyun's friend, maybe even asked Jae to advertise him (Do does ask his friends when it's about 127) or simply sent a link with "It's out, bitch!".

For Jaehyun to advertise Doyoung on IG, he first needs to make a precedent of advertising other neos. For a story about Doyoung to not be something exeptional, attracting attention.

I don't think the company is in any way involved. The staff didn't even teach Taeil how to work with bubble. Neos got their personal IGs of their own volition and at different times. It's only later, when Vlive was no more, that the company started to use IG lives. Posting pictures with brands is the only requirement and obligation, other than that they can do whatever they like (if it's not damaging to the reputation, but they are pros).

I don't think Doyoung asks neos to not post about him (he likes to boast, he likes to be appreciated, he reposted Tae's story about the new song with "Tyong" comment). I think neos just don't think they are obliged to use IG for BD congratulations and solo promotions. Be of a more open mind and wider vision, people. Look at all of the actions and don't zero in on particular things you deem important. Doyoung's projects are hyped always. Be it teasing "sseuka, sseuka", Haechan recommending "Star Blossom" or Johnny and Taeyong demanding tickets to the musical. Yuta listens to Doyoung's solo works and recognises the songs on the radio, Mark compliments Do's voice left and right, Taeil went to the musical.

Could it be that some neos harbour envy and don't advertise because of it? I should say yes, it is plausible, people can harbour thoughts and feelings they don't acknowledge and which reflect in their actions (like "forgetfulness"). IGs are individual projects, something outside of 127 and other members, for them and their own fans, there could be a feeling of possessiveness in place. That being said, if those feelings are real, they are buried deeply in subconciousness and don't make neos into bad friends. As otherwise they demonstrate their support of Doyoung in lives and in tight hugs.

You think of a story on IG as advertisement, you factor in the exposure of the news to a neo's individual solo-stans. Doyoung also remembers about it. It doesn't mean other neos do. Haechan and Jungwoo had been hesitant about getting IG accounts fot the longest time, it's an additional thing to take care of, a bother if you will. Ten and Jae don't meet often, while Mark and Jaehyun do. Did Jae create a story to advertise Ten or to show his friend he's seen the song and liked it? 127 fans are supposed to follow the unit's accounts and get information from SM or other fans. At the least, check out the YT channel. Advertising other members is not neos' responsibility. Sometimes they remember, sometimes they are too busy or don't get the news in time.

The game itsef is good even the story with sadness/betrayel/love. Maybe the only hard thing is the driving at times especially if you have to chase someone.

Conclusion:

No favorite game in october as i only defeated 1 game sadly. As i say the let's play is finished and i have to check wich one i'm gonna do next. In the list of new games yes you see allot of 18+ games but if there's a sale i cannot help myself, doesn't matter what bundle it is :). See you guys on the next update.

FRAGMENTS OF TIME Chapter 2

Everything’s happened way too fast for Henrik to process. Everything is far too slowed down, with all sorts of people in riot gear swarming the hospital, headed by Jackieboy Man.

They’re all moving from floor to floor, barking orders at each other, speaking into ear pieces as they keep their teams updated. It all matters little to the doctor, he’s barely paying attention to them right now. 

Currently, he’s seated on a bench in a waiting room somewhere, head bowed and hands in his lap. He’s trying to stay out of the way, but he’s having an episode; he’s delirious. He can’t hear any clear voices above the din, and everything is moving in slow motion. He’s sure the color’s faded from reality as well, because it seems black and white, literally. Everything is flashing from one extreme color to the other, leaving only outlines of bodies and objects, and there’s nothing really grounding him to reality.

For a split second, he even sees blood on his hands.

It’s dreamy, maybe he’s dreamed this entire encounter. There’s no actual way the hospital would be under attack from...

“Henrik, hello, are you with me?” Jackie’s voice sounds like it’s coming from far away, and Henrik has to blink a few times as he looks up. He sees Jackie as really far away before the Hero is zooming closer and closer, until he’s positioned right in front of the doctor, crouched down and appearing concerned. “I’ve been trying to get your attention for over a minute now. Are you okay?”

“No,” Henrik whispers. He jerks his head to the side, watching as a police officer questions nearby colleagues for information. No one knows what’s happening, and Henrik can’t blame them. He’d jumped right into action and dragged a tired Jackie into the mess too. He’s terrified that there’s going to be legal backlash for this, against him.

“It was a false alarm,” Jackie says softly. “There’s nothing anywhere that we can find. Doesn’t mean the search is over though.” Even behind the mask, Henrik can see the bags under his eyes. He knows Jackie hasn’t been sleeping well lately, and he knows it’s partially his fault. Jackie’s been away far more often and not telling anyone why. Henrik’s curious about his business, but he respects Jackie too much to get into it with him.

“Am I in trouble?” Henrik’s voice is too small and meek for his liking, but he can’t bring himself to pipe up. He feels just as exhausted as Jackie looks right now -- all he wants to do is go home and relax, pretend today never happened.

“No, you did the right thing,” Jackie reassures him. He clutches Henrik’s hands, giving them a squeeze along with a faint smile. “But I need to ask you a few questions now, and you’re probably not going to like them.”

“I’ve already been questioned by the police,” Henrik reminds Jackie. “I don’t know anything about why the hospital would be under attack.”

“I know,” Jackie replies. With a heavy sigh, he reaches up to tug his mask off, letting it dangle from his fist before it fades back into the nanotech it really is. Henrik is still fascinated by that, not that he’d ever say aloud. “Hen, you need to tell me who called you.”

This...isn’t the line of questioning Henrik had in mind, and it jars his thoughts from science and technology, back to reality. With a slow blink, he shakes his head. “I don’t know,” he says truthfully. “Someone who said he knew me.”

“You already mentioned that to the police, except you said it in German. I don’t like playing translator for you when there’s a crisis. I need you to focus on me for awhile.” Jackie’s voice doesn’t sound happy, and in Henrik’s current panic, he can see Jackie shrinking down before growing even larger. Maybe it’s Jackie’s own irritation, but he’s looming over Henrik now. If this is Jackie’s idea of grounding him, he’s failing.

“Mystery man,” Henrik mutters in German. He clears his throat, trying to force himself to switch back to English. He can hear Jackie’s tut of disapproval already.. “He...had an accent. Sounded like you.”

“What do you mean, he sounded like me?”

“I don’t know!” Henrik leans away from Jackie, turning his head to the side to avoid eye contact. “He had an Irish accent and said he knew us.”

“Irish accent?” Jackie sounds confused, and Henrik dares look Jackie in the eye now. He’s back to normal sized, and his brow is furrowed. At least Henrik no longer has to worry about Jackie drop-kicking him out the window, but the frustration is still evident in Jackie’s aura.

“What kind of Irish accent?” Jackie presses. “Irish like Jack, like me, Marvin-” 

“I do not know!” Henrik protests, throwing his hands up. “He sounded...professional. It was heavy but...more like Marvin than you or Chase. Please, I do not know.” Henrik can feel the onset of an anxiety attack coming on, so he leans forward, pressing his forehead into Jackie’s shoulder as a means of grounding himself. “I am sorry.”

To his credit, Jackie does offer some comfort. His hands come up to rub the back of Henrik’s neck and shoulders. It’s not much, but it’s more than Henrik was expecting, and it allows him to relax enough to breathe easier. “It’s okay. I think I know - nevermind. It’s not important. But I have more information now.”

Henrik jerks back to frown at Jackie. It’s the way Jackie spoke, the way his face is twisted now, he knows something. He knows something about the mysterious caller, and he’s clearly not going to share his secrets with Henrik or any of the others. This alone terrifies Henrik. Whatever has been going on with Jackie lately, he’s been handling it alone. “Jackie...”

“No, nevermind. It’s fine.” Jackie shakes his head. “Why don’t you take the rest of the day off? I’ll take you home and come back here to finish this out. Regardless of false alarm, I gotta make sure everyone’s safe.” He pulls back to give Henrik space to get to his feet.

“It is okay,” Henrik says. “I’ll call Marvin for a ride. I do not want to pull you away from your duty.” He steps away from Jackie, feeling too anxious to be near him right now.

Jackie opens his mouth as if he wants to say something to Henrik, but he’s interrupted when an agent grabs at his shoulder, pulling him back. “Jackieboy Man, it’s urgent!”

The change is instant; Jackie’s mask is back on his face before he turns, and when he speaks, his tone is clipped, businesslike. “What is it?”

“We found two men lurking outside,” the agent says. “They both had backpacks and they took off running when they saw my men head outside. It would take us too long to catch them...” He trails off, the implication hanging that this is a job for Jackie to handle. He at least has the courtesy to appear apologetic.

“I’m on it,” Jackie says. There’s no sigh in his voice, no tinge of whining, just clipped, to the point, void of any emotion. Henrik’s never see him like this, but none of them had really seen Jackie in the field before. He straightens his spine before sparing one last glance toward Henrik. “Call the magician or the stuntman, Doctor. I trust they’ll get you home safely.” He runs off, disappearing around a corner.

Henrik collapses back on the bench with a groan, stretching his legs out as he tries not to dwell on everything happening anymore. He’s caused enough damage, going home and hiding in his room sounds like a great option now.

Plus, hiding in his room would let him forget whatever secrets Jackie’s hiding, too.

simblr community challenge

Thank you @mdianasims for tagging me :)

How long have you been playing the Sims? - My first experience with the Sims was when the first game came out (still have the CD-Roms for the game and all of it’s expansions somewhere), and that’s about 20-21 years ago? The game got released almost 21 years ago as the upcoming anniversary tells us, but I don’t know how long after the release I bought the base game.

How long have you been a simblr and why did you become one? - Since 2017, I wanted to have a place in which I could share what happened in my game and Tumblr was the best format fot sharing a few screenshots and add a bit of text.

What type of simblr are you? - I mainly post gameplay updates, trying to make a story around the screenshots I upload. Occasionally I reblog /share custom content from creator I follow.

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play? - The Sims 4, I do have the Sims 1 somewhere still but I haven’t tried to install it on my modern computer yet. And as I’m kind of a casual player, I like the Sims 4 more for it’s artstyle and the gameplay and build features. I thniks that I have played The Sims 4 more and longer than The Sims 1 back in the days. And in the years inbetween? Well I had lost track of/didn’t follow  the series in the years after, so I haven’t played The Sims 2 or 3. Somewere back in 2014 or 2015 I somehow stumbled on gameplay footage of the Sims and I got interested again. So followed the game and gameplayvideo’s for a while until I bought the basegame and a few packs for myself in early 2016. And I’ve been playing by time and while since then. :)
