Since only Nagito’s and Izuru’s personalities are really shown during their time in despair, I will go with my personal headcanons for the rest of themKazuichi’s and Gundham’s reaction you can find here

I’m putting my answer under a cut since it’s quite long

Of course their collective reaction would be to be shocked and confused, which is understandable considering that they are meeting their older selves who are all relentless killers who destroyed the world and did very awful things to each other and themselves

Hajime would be very torn when he sees Izuru, because in a sense Izuru is a dream come true for him since he is literally the most talented person that exists, and also the only one who isn’t exactly in despair and also didn’t kill anyone (as far as we know). However he would be so shocked to see what became of him: A person with absolutely no emotions until he became this distant to the world and only sees short entertainment in things

Nagito would be frankly very disappointed and probably disgusted when he sees his despair self, because he fell into despair. The rest about what Despair!Nagito he might not care much about

However with them in a ship, Nagito would be very attracted to Izuru like he was during their first meeting in the anime, and see him like a god. Hajime however would be concerned about Nagito’s despair self, but since Despair!Nagito is so similar to Nagito when he has a mental episode anyway he would simply be wary

Peko would also be torn, depending if she still has her “I’m a tool” mentality. Because I see Despair!Peko literally being an emotionless tool who cares about nothing else than to fulfil her master’s wish, so she would be what she believes what she should be. However she would also feel distress about how emotionless she would become

Fuyuhiko however would hate himself so much. The mere sight of himself would make him sick, because in my hc he turned into this cold person who sees nothing more than his personal gain and power. He would be even seen as cruel in the eyes of the Yakuza. However what he would hate the most about himself is the way Despair!Fuyuhiko treats Despair!Peko, after he had tried so hard to free her from the Yakuza life. Not to mention that he would be very shocked when he hears that he cut out his own eye to put someone else’s inside of the socket

As a ship, Peko would be actually scared of Despair!Fuyuhiko, because this wasn’t the person she grew up with and he was willing to kill everyone on his path to get what he wants, including Peko. Fuyuhiko however would probably be highly distressed and depressed at seeing what he has done to the woman he loves, turning her into what he had tried so hard to avoid

Hiyoko would be beyond scared when she meets her despair version. She can’t say what it is that scares her about her, however just the way the other smiles with such cruelty and malice can make her almost cry. When she then learns about Despair!Hiyoko’s grotesque hobby to literally dance on corpses and play with their body parts, she is close to puking the poor girl

Mahiru would be quite the same. While Despair!Mahiru seems quite harmless on first look, when she sees what the other has on a camera, which is literally only dead bodies and more or less a documentary of what everyone has done, she would scream in fear

They both would have the same reaction about each other’s despair version, which is being scared of the other and trying to avoid them as much as possible. It could also lead to them feeling unwell even thinking about their talents

Akane would again be one of the people who are slightly torn. Despair!Akane booms with raw power that borders on being animalistic, a thing Akane would love to become, but the fact that she’s a merciless killer who beats people up until they are close to dying, before leaving them to die isn’t want she wants at all

Nekomaru would feel shame about himself, because a coach was supposed to help people become stronger and not torture them and push them so much over their limits until they literally die from exhaustion if they want to avoid more pain inflicted upon them by him

Since I’m also a fan of Akanidai, let’s put them into the ship reactions. They would again share the same reaction, which is the wish to fight their despair selves, even if they know that the other’s will probably fight very dirty and stop at nothing

Teruteru would probably tremble with fear at meeting his despair version and hardly get a word out next to him. He would also avoid eating/cooking anything where he can’t say for absolute certain that Despair!Teruteru didn’t touch it

Twogami would be shocked, since they never wanted to destroy peoples lives by impersonating them and would loose all motivation for a while, knowing what Despair!Imposter did

Ibuki would for the first short moment be impressed about how Despair!Ibuki looks, until she learns what she has done. That would lead to her screaming and crying, while probably trying to hide behind someone

Mikan would be also in the list of being torn. However she is the one who is torn the most, because Despair!Mikan is so powerful, confident and “loved” like she always dreamed to be. Despair!Mikan wouldn’t take shit from anyone and talk all about her “beloved”, however the fact that the other did human experiments just for her pleasure is very concerning for Mikan

Sonia would be shocked beyond believe that Despair!Sonia made her whole kingdom fall into despair and used her power to destroy as much as she could. Sonia would feel like she personally has betrayed her kingdom and her people with what Despair!Sonia did. When she also learns that Despair!Sonia was queen and thus got rid of her parents, Sonia would break. However I can see her challenging Despair!Sonia
