One I’ve never shared before, from #1992 at #artschool, #SUNYPurchase. Just a simple class exercise to paint fabric, but a guy who had been following me around campus quickly volunteered to be my partner, so I had to paint his blue long sleeved shirt arranged with its arms around the tie dyed t-shirt I brought for the exercise. Collectionner des images pour ne plus jamais les oublier. Vivre des mémoires pour continuer à les raconter. C'est un clip found-footage conçu à partir de trois différents films de famille: je me suis imprudemment aventuré dans ces archives pour créer un film "autre", un récit autour de la mémoire et de la nostalgie, une mélancolie pour quelque chose que je n’ai jamais vécu mais qui en quelque sorte m’appartient et appartient à nous tous. Ces sont des images qui font le portrait de la vie d'une famille, des images du quotidien, une vieille maison, des enfants qui jouent, des vacances au bord de la mer, mais aussi des voyages, des avions, des villes et des birds de mer sauvages.

J’ai crée le Fuzzy memories pour la video de Roberto. J’ai bien aimé l’idée de souvenirs flous qui renvoient à une mémoire collective gravée sur un support (tape, vinyl, polaroïd, etc...) qui s’érode. Notre cerveau tel un support de stockage vintage est comme un disque rayé qui nous renvoie toujours les mêmes bribes de souvenirs auxquels on s’attache. En découle, nostalgie et mélancolie. C’est ce que j’ai essayé d’exprimer.

The two-tone attention signal would have been played externally at the appropriate time, for it is not contained on the internal tape itself (likely for anti-sabotage reasons, as that tone seems to have been what activated the relays during that system's use).

Jim Davis' Garfield the cat first appeared in animated form in The Fantastic Funnies (1980), a strange special hosted by Loni Anderson. It was produced by Lee Mendelson and Bill Melendez who produced the Peanuts specials, and who did the first few Garfield specials afterward. Garfield was played by Scott Beach, who voiced "The Death Star plans are not in the main computer" in Star Wars, among other things. The animation adapts a few early strips which had a fatter design for Garfield, and the thinner design here isn't quite right. They're still figuring out how to draw the cat. Cindytalk 🙌 show flyer from 1997/8ish in London. On this night I was introduced to Elizabeth Fraser from Cocteau Twins, but was too shy to say very much other than “hi!”. I have a bunch of lovely Cindytalk memories as Cindy (fka Gordon Sharp) is a dear friend of mine, much thanks to a nice guy named Everette who I met thru friends at World Domination Records. Everette sadly has since passed, RIP. He knew I was into Cindytalk, and that I was going to be living in London soon, so he introduced us; I think via phone and letters, then we met in person when I moved there in 1995, though my memory SUCKS so it’s a great big blur! But I do remember Cindy always tried to take me to different kinds of music events that I normally wouldn’t have gone to, always trying to open my eyes to new things. She even put up with my weird obsession with The Cure 🥴😂 and gave me some rad Steve Gullick Cure photos because they are also good friends. Anyway…. Sigh. Sleep passage

Last night as I was dozing off, I had some brilliant idea of a post. I went to sleep though without writing it down and more of course have no idea what I was thinking. I did have weird dreams with reoccurring dreams. I don't remember exactly what they were, but I do that there was an imbalance of power that I avoided because I didn't want to address it... I can’t find any Mogwai ticket stubs, but I know I have seen them a bunch - at first, I traveled from Tampa to see them at The Middle East in MA, 2001.
