A hc for Johnny and Aisha
And a hc for Dex and Anteros
:)
Send me two Saints Row characters (OCs or CCs) and I’ll talk about the relationship between them
don’t make me choose just one thing to say about johnny and aisha i could talk about them forever like they’re literally in my top three pairs😭
i think in that time between sr1 and sr2 they’re about as married as they could be. it was kinda impossible for it be “official” since aisha was technically dead, but they made it work, and they refer to each other as husband and wife. i do think they tried really hard to like…have as normal of a life as they could have, given everything that happened. like johnny was definitely intimidated in his own way about it, but he was willing to try to create some sense of normalcy for aisha. he would do anything for her. that said, the criminal life just follows johnny wherever he goes. personally i think they had like. a bunch of hidden weapons in their house. i mean like. you put johnny gat in suburbia he’s gonna stash some big guns somewhere.
one thing i still really wanna write/draw is a story from aisha’s POV during those five years between sr1 and sr2. specifically after johnny tries to kill troy and is promptly arrested and put in jail. detailing their prison visits and, more specifically, her loneliness during that time. aisha is one of my favorite characters and i really hate how brushed aside she is by the game. there’s such a interesting story to be told from her POV. johnny and her sister are all she has after a certain point. even though there are other people who know she’s alive, what can she do? can she really go to troy? to dex? to julius? she can’t go out for long, not without being disguised. her sister can only be around for so long. so what can she do but wait. sorry this turned into just me rambling about how interesting i find aisha. but johnny’s part of that too! their relationship is so sweet and i wish we got to see them do more as a couple. i really wish she didn’t die…..like to the point sometimes i seriously consider just retconning her death for my rewrites. like volition retconned johnny’s i should be allowed to do that too……
anyway this got off-topic. johnny and aisha are my everythings. also they would be the world’s funniest parents i will stand by that. i should develop that kid design i did more
and oh dexteros……..
i think they’ve occupied each other’s minds for like the past 10 years. nonstop. it fluctuates between wishing the other was dead and missing what once was but. yeah. i mean same difference. it’s comforting to know someone wants a coffin for you right.
joking aside. sriv rewrite. they’re kinda forced to start their relationship over. similar to what happened with troy in the srtt rewrite, anteros is once again the only person who trusts dex when he returns to the saints. so they end up spending a lot of time together whether they like it or not, and they’re forced to really talk about what has happened.
there’s a moment when anteros catches dex putting on purple again. anteros tells dex that the color suits him, that he’s always looked good in it. but he misses his jacket. when he thinks about dex, that oversized coat always comes to mind. dex admits he has no idea where it is now, probably tossed in a closet somewhere. he admits, quieter, that he tried to give anteros the jacket when he was comatose, but the nurse on duty wouldn’t let him leave it. he was being transferred, so it wouldn’t matter. and it’s at that moment that dex says that he’s heard stories about coma victims being able to hear the outside world. could anteros hear what he said to him? did his words reach him? anteros says no, he doesn’t remember anything. what did dex say to him? dex smiles and says it doesn’t matter. and he’s right; all they can do is focus on right now.
i think a large part of dex’s issue with anteros coming back from the dead is that...he’d already laid him to rest in his head. dex is someone who is so forward-minded and set on goals looking ahead; he can’t worry about the past. but then suddenly anteros is back. how is he supposed to react? yes, he can use him to get rid of ultor execs in his way as he tries to climb the corporate ladder, but ultimately that plan fails. suddenly he’s fearful anteros will come after him and he runs. so he tries to bury him once again several years later, even making sure he’ll be the one to do so. but once they’re actually face-to-face, things change. i think in some ways dex feels hurt because he was so convinced that anteros was dead back then despite what people like johnny or troy said. they didn’t know anteros like he did. it made all the damage he felt seem like it didn’t matter. he was so lonely without him. but once they’re back together in the sriv rewrite, they finally have the chance to start over. it’s not easy, but things never were when it came to anteros.

//Gatboss is great because it’s just two lunatics murdering people semi-strategically and I love that for them.
It’s also kinda cool/a neat touch in SRIV where Boss is like, VERY adamant they’re not Aisha and not TRYING to be ‘cause they knew her too and knew she was like, The Great Love of Johnny Gat’s Life(tm). I feel like they respect that because they saw it, y’know? They were there for that bit. That’s kinda vitally important and makes for a really interesting dynamic.
Aisha was an extremely talented, courageous, clever young woman and kinda the brakes, as best she could be. She grounded Johnny (not like in a GO TO UR ROOM way.... unless he’s into that zero judgment), brought him back to normalcy as much as that’s possible with a guy who, when he says “doin’ my thing”, he means wholesale slaughter. But you got to see it in SR2, where he might BITCH about it, but he’d do ANYTHING for her and they could go at it right in front of Playa and then just dial that shit back and get down to business.
Where Aisha and Gat were wonderfully complementary in an “I fill in what you’re missing” way, Gat and the boss are the perfect storm of kindred spirits. Everything they do is 11 because they’re in constant competition. You also get to hit all the classic tropes, like best friends to lovers, murder buddies, everyone thinks we’re crazy and we are but our love is genuine, desperate confession...
I don’t think of Gatboss as a rebound, just the next phase. Moving on’s not easy after that kind of horseshit. You never replace that one, special person. If you’re blessed enough to find ‘em, hold tight, y’know? But you can ease the pain a little, let it grow into a dull ache, and maybe find solace in a friend who GETS it.
idk I just love ‘em

Note
do you miss Aisha, Gat?
"Kid, I'm gonna spend the rest of my life missin' her. That's the price of knowin her, lovin' her... Knowin what you've lost when you lost it, that's 'Eesh." The explosion of anger does not come, instead, a touch of reverence colors his words as he muses. It's become easier with time to hear her name, but the stupidity of this question is likely to earn the new blood a nosebleed when the stars are out of his eyes and he's back to Earth.

Spotted an ad for my girl Aisha’s album by the bus stop.
I love that they took the time to create her album covers because we get to see what Aisha looks like beyond the graphics of the time.
Kingdom Come Records seems to have been great at promoting their artist.

Julius Explains Why He Blew Playa Up
“I knew early on what it was I let loose on Stilwater. The playa was reckless and uncaring. Left a wake of bodies pointing right back at us. Think more of the city was destroyed than saved in the end. Sure the Saints were taking over, but at what cost? I couldn't risk letting a sociopath run things, so I did what I had to do. Never thought the bastard would survive the explosion.“
This is a retcon of sorts (because of the missing animation *sigh*) , but its still canon. The Playa got blown up on that boat because Julius felt they were doing too much. It wasn’t an accident or mistaken identity. It was betrayal.

As I thought. Jim Boone is explaining that they created the game to be a mix of the original and newer Saints Row games. In the middle of SR2 and SR3.

F*ckuary Day 14 “It’s not work if you enjoy it!” (Saints Row, GattBoss M)
AU where Johnny doesn’t die in SR3
--
Stepping outside of Technically Legal, Ros caught the first streaks of light as the day started. Stifling a yawn, she lit a cigarette before leaning against the building and tried to unwind from the long shift. The strip club had been short staffed so the Boss of the Third Street Saints had shown the girls that she wouldn’t leave them hanging and still knew her way around a pole.
“Thought you could use a ride back to HQ after a night of working.”
The deep voice drew Ros out of her thoughts and she looked up to see Johnny Gat leaning against the hood of her custom car with his trademark shades on. “It’s not work if you enjoy it.” she smiled before finishing her cigarette and flicking the remainder onto the pavement. “Besides, wanted to see if I still got it.”
“And?”
Ros raised an eyebrow while pulling out the giant handful of money from her purse, of which was made up of mostly twenties and fifties, “What do you think?”
Johnny let out a laugh as her heels clicked against the concrete and she got into the passenger seat, settling in as Johnny did the same. As the car merged into the light traffic of Steelport, Ros pulled out her phone to see what she’d missed while at the club. “How’d we do tonight?”
“Boss, you just got done working an nine hour shift. It can wait a few hours.” Johnny replied as he merged onto the highway. Traffic was light the whole way to the penthouse and they drove into the underground parking lot just as the sun fully appeared.
Walking out of the elevator, Ros picked her way through the remains of the party that she’d left early on and into her suite. Dumping her purse on the bed, she then pulled off the outfit she’d changed into at the club. Still wound up, she decided to take an early morning soak and changed into her string bikini before heading into the hot tub next to the pool. “Guess I should be glad it’s heated this early. Or would it be late?” she thought while letting out a slight sigh as she sank into the warm water.
“Figured I’d find you here.”
Ros looked up to see Johnny standing at the opposite edge of the hot tub, arms folded and the sun glinting off of his ever present shades. “You know me, takes awhile to unwind after a night out. Wanna join?”
“Sure.”
Ros watched as Johnny quickly took off all his clothes and entered the hot tub completely naked. It wasn’t the first time she’d seen him like that and it wouldn’t be the last. She still didn’t say anything as he sat next to her and threw an arm around her shoulders. “How’s Aisha?”
“We’re taking a break.”
Ros was silent for a moment before saying, “Our arraignment still good?”
Johnny looked over at Ros and nodded, “Always.”
“Good.” Ros pushed off the seat to straddle him as their lips met in a kiss.
That’s how it was, ever since Ros joined the Saints and her eyes landed on Johnny Gat. They were friends with benefits whenever him and Aisha decided they need space. Ros knew that Johnny loved Aisha, there was no doubt about that, but she also knew that he loved her. It was more lust than straight love, but Ros was fine with that. She’d been burned too many times by ex’s to want anything more than someone to get her off.
As they kissed, Ros felt Johnny place his hands on her back and crush her against him. Smiling a little as she felt his dick twitch against her leg, she pressed kisses along his jaw. Johnny scraped his teeth against Ros’s neck as he went for the knot that held the top of her bikini. It came undone easily and he tossed it with a wet slap onto the concrete. “You have really great tits, you know that?” Johnny rumbled as Ros pushed herself up so her chest filled his vision.
Inhaling sharply as he brushed a thumb across her nipple, Ros nodded, “It’s what got me the job at my first strip joint. But you’re the only one who gets the full show nowadays.”
“Lucky me.” Johnny palmed her breasts and gave them a squeeze. Smiling as Ros arched at the sensation and let out a breathy moan, he let them go and delved his hands underneath the water. Setting them on her hips, he felt his dick strain and gave a shallow thrust- brushing it against the scrap of fabric that covered her.
Moving his fingers, he found the strings that held it together and a slight tug unraveled them. Then they were both naked in the hot tub. “C’mere.”
Ros shifted as Johnny’s hand guided her hips over him and swallowed a moan as he entered her, water splashing onto the concrete as they settled. “God that feels so good. It’s been awhile Gat.”
“Too long.” Johnny pressed biting kisses along Ros’s neck as he gave a few thrusts to get both of them started.
Afterwards Ros finished retying her bikini back on and stepped out of the hot tub. She’d have someone drain and clean it later. Walking into the penthouse and up the stairs towards her private suite, she couldn’t help but smile a little. Steelport and the Syndicate were still a pain in her ass, but with Johnny at her side, she could take them on and rule the city.

Rowvember day 10- Belief
Definition
1. An acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.
2. Trust, faith, or confidence in (someone or something).
Summary
After getting back from the hospital turned Charnel-house, Johnny starts hearing the Saints talking. Apparently The Boss had been very, very busy while he was laid out. Wrangling with the beliefs he held before he got taken out, he decides he needs to talk to Boss herself to make sense of it.
Words: 2, 248
“So Julius was the one that blew Boss up.”
“Wasn’t he Boss’ Boss?”
“Yeah, decided to take her out.”
“Is that why she burned down the church?”
“No that was coz of Dex.”
“Dex wants to kill her now?! Who needs friends right?
Johnny stood, frozen at the top of the stairs, hand gripping the banister tight, his knuckles turning white as his head span, and Johnny didn’t know if it was from what he’d just heard or whether he was still suffering from the after-effects of being out for so long. He blinked and shook his head, heaving his bad leg into movement. Laying flat on his back had left it stiff and painful, another thing to add to his already sour mood. Shea hadn’t mentioned any of this at the hospital, was she even gonna tell him? He was the second in command, he’d have thought she’d known he’d like to be bothered with things like this.
He grimaced as he felt pain knife up both his leg and his side and he doubled over, clutching at both his newest and his oldest war wound, white spotting in his vision. It passed soon enough, and Johnny could hear the Saints speak again.
“I wonder why she let Troy live though?” one mused, and Johnny looked up, his blood boiling. She had a chance at Troy and didn’t take it? Had he wormed his way out of his mess again?
“Yeah you’d have thought she’d want rid of the chief of police-”
“Oi dickhead, do you have any idea how hard they woulda came down on us if she busted Troy Bradshaw?! Boss did the right thing.”
“Well I thought she was scared of nothing and no man.” one huffed, and Johnny’s boiling blood continued to simmer as he dragged himself down the stairs, great, now people were questioning her. Fantastic.
“Only an idiot fears nothing Josh, you should be glad, since we’re following her.”
“I was supposed to be following a badass Ryan.” Josh replied, and Johnny had him in his sights, yeah she might have let Troy go but that didn’t make her any less of the badass she was. Ryan noticed Johnny approaching them, his face turning pale as he tried to communicate to Josh to shut up. However Josh did not shut up. “Y’hear all these stories of a tough motherfucker, killed Victor fucking Rodriguez, fought for two hours after a shot to the chest, three shots to the shoulder in the siege of Prawn court and still kept comin’-?”
“I can tell you right fuckin’ now that the stories are all true, I was there.” Johnny snarled, and Josh turned in his seat and froze.
“I-I-I-” he stammered and Johnny raised an eyebrow,
“Now if you have complaints about how she’s leadin;, fine, but you tell it to her face, not do-whatever the fuck this is. Can’t criticise her lack of balls when yours seem to have shrivelled entirely.” he said, waving a hand, and Josh made to speak, his voice coming out in a squeak before he coughed.
“She let Bradshaw go.”
“And she’ll have her reasons, I just woke up and I know this,” Johnny explained as though the man was five,
“I was just talking-”
“Then talk, but my previous statement still stands- you-” he said to Ryan instead, “Where did she get to?”
“She took Pierce to help her clear out some of the last Samedi.” Ryan said, taking a drink from his beer before lowering it, “You won’t have heard man- The General’s dead, the Samedi are done.”he added, and his face split into a grin. “First gang down! Isn’t that great?!”
Yeah it was downright fantastic, one of the main lieutenants of the Ronin down along with The Samedi in a matter of weeks? Shea was really tearing the city apart.
“Someone’s been busy.” he mused, though when he had woken in the hospital, and looked across to see Shea knocked out at his bedside, he’d seen it, how tired she looked even when she ‘rested’. He wondered if she’d even slept outside of just picking somewhere to collapse.
“It’s damn good to see you back though Gat, you had us worried for a bit.”
“It’s damn good to be back.” he nodded, and he meant it-which surprised him, not one to miss out on when dirt needed doing after all but he hadn’t processed everythin just yet, and finding all this out second hand knocked him for six. Was he, Shea and E’esh the only real things in that whole fucking gang back then?
It felt real at the time, his faith in Julius was unshakeable at the beginning, but when Lin was murdered and Shea almost along with her, when he was taken by the Vice Kings and he only sent an injured Shea in against Tony Green? He began to question if the man could have it all handled when he was holed up in the Church all day. He wondered if Julius was slowly breaking under the pressure, but to be the one to blow up that boat and destroy everything they’d all been fighting for in one swoop?
He couldn’t forgive that, would never. It wasn’t all Julius’ fault, not for everything, but he certainly set the chain of events in motion that led them here, with E’esh dead and his guts threatening to spill out of his body at any moment, it was hard not to hate him.
Voices brought his attention to the top of the stairs, a group of voices laughing, Pierce, Shea and Tobias, well that was a nice surprise. They all stopped on the stairs when they realised that Johnny was stood there, Tobias’ face not breaking into any kind of emotion as he said.
“Gat! Good to see you man!” in that weird monotone voice that, as quiet as it was still carried to where he stood, and Johnny nodded in acknowledgement with a smile.
“Likewise, been keeping well?”
“Yeah,” he answered, raising his arms and stretching, “Had restless trigger fingers, you know how it is.” he said as he walked over and hugged him, clapping him on the back, his tone pointed. “Now you need anythin’, you let me and Laura know.” he said, and Johnny’s heart wrenched as he remembered Aisha wasn’t on this Earth anymore. He still refused to believe it, couldn’t believe it.
“Thanks.” he said, tone clipped, he didn’t mean for it to sound cold, but Tobias didn’t seem to take any offence from it. Tobias moved away for Pierce to come forward and grasp Johnny’s hand before clapping him on the back too, nodding in respect, and Johnny nodded back before turning to Shea.
“I need to talk to you.” he said in a low voice, and she tilted her head to one side, eyes sweeping him for a moment before she nodded.
“I thought you might.” she answered, her face and tone serious, so she knew exactly what it was about, “office is free, or we could go back to the room I put you in?”
“Whatever.” he shrugged, and Shea nodded, swallowing hard before turning to Pierce and Tobias. “I’ll be back, just gotta take care of business.”
“It’s cool Boss, we got you both.” Pierce replied, and Shea smiled slightly before turning to Johnny and beckoning him to follow her, he did so, and he found she was heading back upstairs, it was alright with him. He had to get used to moving sometime. He followed her into the room and no sooner had he sat on the bed and she had shut the door that she whirled round.
“You need to take it easy.” she said.
“I feel fine.”
“You passed out while we were being shot at and you passed out again when I got you in the helicoptor, please pace yourself, you are not at a hundred percent yet.”
“Well that makes two of us don’t it? I’ve heard about everythin’ you’ve done since I got laid out, the church Shea? Julius? Dex? Troy? The Samedi, you’ve been a one woman fuckin’ wreckin’ ball!”
“Shit.” she replied, rubbing her eyes before placing her hands on her hips, “That’s why I wanted to be here when you woke up,” she shook her head and looked at him, “It should always have come from me, I’m sorry.”
Johnny sighed and shook his head, making her feel bad wasn’t his intention for this conversation.
“It’s...not your fault, it’s fully fucked my head up, fuck knows how you’re dealin’.” Johnny clutched at his head and shook again, like his brain was an etcher-sketch he had to clear, and she shrugged.
“I drank a lot and shot a lot more people.” she said, so plainly Johnny chuckled despite himself, despite the subject matter.
“Ay, we sure know how to pick ‘em, don’t we?” he said, and Shea, again smiled a small smile.
“I really thought we did something back then.” she said, wistful as she stepped forwards and sat next to him, hands clasped in her lap as she stared at the walls, and he reached behind her and rubbed her back before folding his arms, sighing.
“Me too.”
“And I thought you’d be mad.” she said, looking round at him, and he raised an eyebrow. At first, on hearing that Troy got away, yeah he was mad, but now that he was sat here, saw her face to face, he couldn’t be. He’d lost one of his girls, he wasn’t going to spend his time being mad at the other when she was trying her best.
“I’m not mad at you.” he replied, shaking his head, “you had to go out and handle business, and you did. Can’t expect more of you than that.”
“Thanks man.” she smiled, then promptly looked down at the floor, smiling, and he found it both endearing and hilarious that she she still looked for his approval, in his mind she had surpassed the need for it years ago.
“So uh-why did you burn the church down?” he asked, and her head shot up.
“To piss off and keep Ultor busy of course.” she smirked, before her face fell and she leaned forward on her lap, “we need some room to breathe and we can’t do that with Ultor on our arse.”
“So the Samedi-”
“Got absolutely fucking annihilated.” she replied, “if I was playing before, I’m not now. Too much is at stake and we lost too much already,” she shook her head, “I can’t do it. I can’t fuck about.”
“But then what about Troy? Why’d you let him go if you’re not fucking around?”
“Troy?” she asked with a sigh, “cards on the table Johnny I couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t. I heard the wiretaps, he didn’t know about the boat-and he kept me alive when everyone was telling him to pull the plug. He’s a liar but I honestly don’t think he’s an enemy.” she explained, and Johnny felt annoyance burn at the pit of his stomach, he didn’t agree with that particular decision, but he could respect it.
“Fine. If you vouch for him? Fine.” he said, and she leaned back, narrowing her eyes.
“Really?”
“I wouldn’t be followin’ you if I didn’t think your judgement was sound.” he said, and her eyes narrowed even further, “What?” he asked, “If it goes south, you’ll deal with it, I know you will.” he shrugged, and she nodded once.
“You bet.”
“Then I ain’t worried.” he replied, and that was that. She smiled and tapped him once on the shoulder as she got to her feet, crossing the room to the door, before she bit her lip, looking around at the walls before she took her hand off the door handle.
“I uh, took everything not nailed down from the house and put it in storage, when you feel up to it we can sort through what you want.” she said, and the change in his face must have registered, as she looked down at her feet, “I’m sorry if I was overstepping, I just didn’t want you to worry about anything when you should be healing.”
There it was, the sinking feeling, the blood chilled in his veins as he once again had to be reminded that this was really, really it.
“It’s fine. Thank you.” he said, again hearing himself angrier than he’d meant, “you’re right. I don’t think I ever wanna go back there.” he added, and she nodded.
“If you need me, I’m about here 24/7 right now, I’m getting my new penthouse renovated in The Row and it’s gonna take a few months so-” she shrugged, “-just give me a shout.”
He nodded and she left, and he was both grateful and anxious. He wanted to be on his own for a bit, to sort through...everything but his brain was telling him to keep everyone in sight at all times, it was stupid really, Boss was the toughest he’d known and Purgatory was safe. But still his mind kept asking what ifs and playing out the fight with Jyunichi in different horrifying ways, kept making him imagine the Ronin storming Purgatory and slaughtering everyone, and him with his side couldn’t do anything to stop it. It was maddening what his own brain was torturing him with. All he had now was the Saints, and nothing and nobody was gonna take that from him.

If Lin Survived...
Because Lin is my very favorite character from the games and I think it’s incredibly ridiculous how she died, I’ve decided to spend my free time working Lin into the other games in the Saints Row series...because that’s what being productive is like for me
It’ll be split into 4 parts, one for each game (duh), with the first game being the smallest since she’s already in that one and there’s very little else to be altered for this and the third will likely be the largest. Because the first game is the shortest, I’m putting the readmore between that one and the 2nd game
Saints Row:
Obviously Lin survives, this entire posts hinges on her survival in “Liberation”
The Playa pulls her out of the water with them and calls an ambulance once on shore.
The Playa probably also tried to give Lin CPR themself until the ambulance arrives, they then continue on with the mission “No Time to Mourn” where they hunt down and kill William Sharp for revenge
They’re unsure if Lin survives until a few days later when Julius tells them he finally heard word that she’s alive in the hospital still treating other injuries they found and currently in an induced coma they put her in that ultimately only lasts for a few days, a week at the most
There’s an additional mission between the events of “Liberation” & “No Time to Mourn” and the final Westside Rollerz mission, “Semi-Charmed Life”
It’s a similar mission as “Visiting Hours” in Saints Row 2 where you escort an injured Johnny out of the hospital while being attacked by Ronin
Julius has a few Saints stationed at the hospital to make sure no Rollerz show up to finish the job and kill Lin themselves for the deceased Sharp and angry Price
Lin wakes up when The Playa’s shift is active, and decides herself that she’s spent enough time hospitalized and takes The Playa with her so they can leave
It’s a “stealth” mission (term used incredibly loosely) where you’re taking out and avoiding security/cops and then driving to the church to see Julius
Queue Lin being incredibly angry that she didn’t get to personally take William Sharp out but also surprised and thoroughly impressed with The Playa for doing it, especially so soon after they were dumped into the waterways
This also means she gets to pop her head into other mission arcs and crap, mostly just to give Dex or Johnny a hard time but she’s there and gets a little more depth to her character as a result
Instead of the scene of Donnie looking at a picture of Lin during “Battlefield Promotion,” it’s a scene of Lin showing up at his garage and surprising him because you can tear their relationship (platonic or romantic) out of my cold dead hands
Saints Row 2:
The Boss asks Johnny about her when Johnny’s talking about where everyone is but he admits that he’s not entirely sure because she didn’t really keep up with him while he was in prison, not on her end at least
With an added “I mean it’s not like she never showed up but I think it was mostly just to make sure I wasn’t dead yet. She’s tough but I don’t think she could handle anymore of us going out after what happened with you and that damn boat and then everyone else scattering to the wind and backstabbing us.”
Johnny also mentions that last he heard of what she was actually up to, was that she was still hanging around with Donnie and street racing, but otherwise he’s as much in the dark as The Boss is at the moment
Lin ends up seeking out The Boss herself, rather than waiting around for them to find her
She shows up during the cutscene after “Down Payment” when Johnny is complaining that they need to start recruiting again
Johnny makes a wisecrack at her timing of course “Oh, look who decided to finally show up, you’re just in time to clean up since you missed all the festivities”
And of course she shoots back, “Shut the fuck up, Gat. I got here as fast as I could, it’s not like you two assholes sent me an invite. I had to stop by Aisha’s and ask where you were.”
She’s wearing a unique version of one of those leather vests members of The Brotherhood wear that’s all red and has her name patched on, she probably also has a unique patch on the back since she’s not actually a Brotherhood member, she wouldn’t have any of their affiliation patches aside from the colors of the vest
Johnny immediately calls her out for flying their flags, he uses it as a moment to give The Boss a rundown of who the Brotherhood is, “They’re these tatted up, leather wearing freaks that drive around in big loud trucks. If you ask me, I think they’re compensating for somethin’”
Lin just rolls her eyes “I’m not in The Brotherhood, Johnny. Donnie is.”
“Oh, so that makes it better? You’re not affiliated with those assholes, just your boyfriend.”
“He’s not my boyfriend! And what was I supposed to do? You’re dumbass got yourself put on deathrow when you botched the plan to take out Troy,” Lin points to The Boss, “And you’re dumbass got fucking laid out in a fucking boat explosion! I couldn’t exactly run the Saints on my own when half our crew got busted and the other half dropped their flags as soon as everyone else ditched us.”
She then offers to help them with The Brotherhood, which starts another argument with Johnny and ends with Lin revealing that aside from Donnie, none of the other Brotherhood members should know that she was a former lieutenant in the Saints
Which Johnny also has something to say about how Donnie struggles to keep his mouth shut, and Lin responds with that he’s gotten better with that and that he’s got more incentive to keep her secret since he’s too worried about her getting hurt or killed for something like that after what happened with the Rollerz
Lin works with Carlos a lot since she’s a source of inside information for the Brotherhood
They end up having an older sister-younger brother relationship because she offers to show him the ropes while The Boss is busy with all the miscellaneous other missions and activities
She also gets upset at The Boss for threatening Donnie and almost getting him killed by Maero, and later again for roughing him up trying to find Carlos
When she’s chewing them out for when they fought Donnie to find Carlos, The Boss mentions what happened and why
It’s a really somber scene
“He could have died, Boss! He’s already on thin ice for the stunt you pulled with the cars, he’ll be lucky if The Brotherhood doesn’t kill him themselves now! I told you to keep him out of it this time!”
“Carlos is dead, Lin. Jessica chained him up to the back of some truck and drove around the fucking docks, dragging him behind it.”
“He’s what?”
“I had to fucking put a bullet in his head, Lin. He’s fucking dead! I really couldn’t give a single fuck if Donnie’s okay because he’s part of the reason one of our own people are dead now.”
Later there’s a cutscene where she’s hanging out with Donnie at her place and she brings up the Saints and admits to him that she’s working with them again and tells him about Carlos
Donnie apologizes about what happened with Carlos
Maero ends up busting in with some other members, revealing that they know Lin is a Saint and believing that Donnie has also actively been working with them and that the crap about being threatened and roughed up was just a cover.
Lin groans because “Not this fucking shit again” and pulls Donnie with her into cover behind the counter and pulls out a gun she had stashed in one of the kitchen drawers
She gives Donnie a kitchen knife and pulls out her phone between shooting at The Brotherhood members to call The Boss
She gives Donnie her phone as she covers him so they can run out the back door and get in her car and drive off, so Donnie has to relay her messages to The Boss, Pierce, and Shaundi back at the hideout
Ultimately they make it to Donnie’s garage and The Boss and Pierce meet them there with Shaundi staying back at the hideout “in case brotherhood try raiding there while they’re gone”
When they show up to the garage, they find out that Lin got shot in the side and you have to protect Lin from a few waves of Brotherhood with Pierce while Donnie tries to patch Lin up
Afterwards, Lin and Donnie spend their time hanging out at the hideout now
Because Donnie’s sticking it out at the hideout currently, much to Johnny and The Boss’ dismay at first, to keep him safe from the Brotherhood, there’s a few comedic moments when The Boss and the others are trying to plan their next moves and look to Donnie hoping he might have some helpful information by some miracle
Spoiler he never does, he just gets Real Frightened because he’s so use to them just beating information out of him
Lin ends up being The Boss’ ride off of the weapons shipment in “The Enemy of My Enemy”
Queue a comedic conversation about how The Boss is shocked she can not only drive cars damn good but can apparently drive boats too
Lin remarks with how she can’t be “the best racer to ever come out of Chinatown” if she’s only good at racing cars, implying she’s also skilled flying as well as watercrafts simply because she wanted to be the best racer across all fronts
During the end of the epilogue mission arc, after the fight with Dane Vogel, she’s on the bridge with Johnny fighting off the cops on the bridge
Saints Row the Third:
Lin isn’t part of the crew staging the bank robbery at the beginning of the game, in fact, for the most part, she stays behind on a lot of stunts like that and is kind of like the 2nd in command after Johnny with the Saints
Because while Johnny is always busy being the face of the Saints now and going out to wreak havoc and rob banks and shit with The Boss, someone has to stay behind and run things at Stilwater
Lin is the one running things in Stilwater because she’s not interested in all the fame and publicity the Saints are otherwise working with now, and prefers to stick to their roots and do a lot of the nitty gritty work that the others don’t have the time for anymore while they’re busy filming or doing various other things to keep up their image
She shows up with Pierce at the end of “We’re Going to Need Guns”
She’s actually the one driving the helicopter and Pierce is hanging out the side with an annihilator rpg
After The Luchadores raid Johnny’s funeral, she offers to try and join one of the crews as a means to get inside information because “It’s what I always do, I go undercover, I help you ruin their sorry lives, they find out, I get hurt, and then I get to sit back and relax while you deal with the rest of their crap.”
The Boss elaborates that he doesn’t think her plan would work any because 1. These aren’t street gangs like the Rollerz or the Brotherhood, she wouldn’t blend in as well and 2. She’s a Saint, there’s no way she’d be able to go under the radar let alone work as a double agent for them
Lin probably has a comment like “God, we really did ruin our reputation if we’re fighting corporate assholes like Dane on the regular now.”
You can also pry wlw Lin from my cold dead hands so:
She absolutely makes passes at Kinzie and later on Viola in their idle banter when you have them both as homies
Kinzie responds back with a comment that implies she would be interested but also referencing one of her,,,very many kinks like she does
Lin is taken aback by her forwardness but takes it as a challenge
And Lin never turns down a challenge
Viola is a lot less into Lin’s flirting, wanting to keep their relationship strictly professional and generally not approving of Lin’s headstrong and sarcastic personality and her general distaste for all the popularity and “corporate bullshit” the Saints are involved in now
Lin then does of course let up on the flirting since Viola’s made it clear she wasn’t interested
Viola then has a comment about how Lin stopped
It’s a very tsundere type banter of Lin being cocky and Viola adamantly denying caring about it at all, just that she didn’t expect Lin to give up so easily
There’s also a banter with both Shaundi and Lin as homies that reveals that they had a brief stint where they were sort-of-dating and that Lin had also appeared on Shaundi’s show at one point
They make a few comments that leave why they stopped seeing each other pretty vague and open-ended
Shaundi says something about how it was fun and she enjoyed it a lot and she doesn’t really understand why they ever stopped
Lin follows up with some vague reply about how Shaundi was just too busy with the show and all the fame stuff and she was too busy running the gang in Stilwater so they just stopped eventually
She responds pretty hostile to The Boss letting Matt go at first because she doesn’t trust him not to come back for their skins
She does relent pretty quickly though when someone mentions that Matt’s only 16
During Threeway, she attempts to go do whatever The Boss doesn’t choose
So if The Boss goes to save Shaundi, Viola, and Burt; Lin takes Angel and attempts to stop Killbane from escaping, ultimately failing to do so though
And if The Boss goes to kill Killbane, Lin tries to go save Shaundi, Viola, and Burt, but doesn’t make it in time
She’s really fucking pissed at The Boss in this ending
During the cutscene introducing the Daedalus when the Saints are throwing a party, she’s just in the background with a drink in her hand, she refuses to toast with the others
Saints Row IV:
Personally, I think this would work best if she replaced Gat’s recruitment in the story, but I’m gonna write that part sorta vaguely so it works with or without Gat
Just like in SRTT, Lin for the most part is uninvolved with the Big Plans that the boss is getting up to, instead still hanging around Stilwater and running the gang operations there while The Boss and the rest of the crew works at everything else
She is however for the most part, having worked past her grudge against the Saints moving up in the world and has settled that it’s possible to have the best of both worlds in this case with The Boss doing all the Big publicity and movie shit and herself handling all the gang’s Actual gang business
During Zinyak’s invasion, she calls The Boss to ask him what the fuck is going on and stuff
The call cuts out when she’s mid-sentence and later on it’s assumed she died when Zinyak blew up Earth
Eventually, Kinzie finds her pod on the Zin’s ship along with Donnie’s
This prompts The Boss to go and save both of them from their respective nightmares
Lin’s nightmare is all about William Sharp kidnapping her and torturing her and ultimately attempting to kill her in the waterways
Donnie’s is reliving the SR2 Brotherhood mission when Maero attacked him and Lin and Lin got shot during the firefight and they weren’t sure if The Boss was gonna make it in time and she might die
Lin’s loyalty mission is driving around and fighting off enemies while she steals car parts to build herself a racing car in the simulation for the fun of it and for old time’s sake
I have a few ideas for a super outfit but I figured since a lot of the super outfits reference other characters and games and stuff, I’d make her’s a reference to a character known for racing?
I figured Speed Racer would be a pretty neat reference to use? Idk I almost suggested Penelope Pitstop so I think this is a much better option
The blue of the shirt and the yellow gloves are replaced with purple versions of them and the red neckerchief and socks are replaced with yellow. And fuck helmet safety because that part of the outfit is just omitted here

Gatboss - Stop pretending like everything is fine! ♥
Okay, so this is the request I lost my original draft for, and I’m still so sorry about that, because I had some really funny shit in there.
However, it is what it is, so I took that pain and put it into this new, more angsty draft for this prompt instead, because I haven’t put my new Boss through much pain yet lol (but I did start an SR3 playthrough with him, so the pain...is happening more now.)
Thank you for requesting, and I hope you like it!!!!
My love to all who read/like/reblog!
He wondered if this was what losing it felt like. If this was what it looked like, driving around Steelport alone in the middle of the night with the radio up just enough to hear.
After all, the conversation came first.
He could swear he could hear Gat as if he was sitting right next to him in the car. “Stop pretending like everything is fine. You’re so concerned about everybody else and how they’re dealin’ with this, but what about you?”
“What about me?” Ellis muttered to the empty passenger seat. “I’m the Boss. I need to have my shit together. For them, and for the gang to survive out here. Shit’s crazy.”
“Still human. Still need help, a break, someone to talk to. And lettin’ Shaundi and Pierce vent to you about missing me doesn’t count as gettin’ help for yourself.”
“Like you’re one to talk,” Ellis spat back, and could see the exact look Johnny would have given him if he was there. “What about when Aish died?”
“That’s a low fuckin’ blow, plus, you’re wrong. I had you. You stayed with me, let me vent, let me cry. I got through it because I had you, because you were my help. You need to do the same now.”
In his mind’s eye, Johnny had taken off his sunglasses, and that always meant Shit Was Serious.
“That was supposed to be you,” Ellis sighed, and wiped away a tear before it could obscure his vision as he sped through the empty opposite lane to get past a closed road. “You’re my help, the one I vent to. I don’t have that with anyone else, I’m not fuckin’ essentially married to anyone else!”
The street lights glinted off the ring Gat had given him. One for Aisha, and one for him, and one for Gat, all of them matching but individualized just enough to know which ring belonged to who. His had a tiny E etched at the back of it, all he’d wanted for customization. Aisha and him had never been...like that, but since they were sharing Johnny, and doing so out of love and respect for each other, it felt only right that everybody’s rings should match.
Now, he struggled to wear it. To take it off was impossible, because he barely ever had since Gat had given it to him. To leave it on hurt just as much, because it reminded him of how alone he was. His second in command, his lover, his rock in the storm, was gone, and there was not a damn thing he could do about it. No revenge he could take that would bring Johnny back.
When Johnny’s voice came through again in his head, it was soft, sweet. “I know. And I’m not askin’ you to do that, unless you’d find someone that makes you happy. But I’ve got a feelin’ you won’t, just ‘cause you’re picky as fuck. Don’t know how I made the cut.”
“You made the cut because you’re amazing, and kind, and smart, and the only man I wanted to spend my life with,” Ellis pulled over with a screech onto the grassy shoulder of the road and wept. “You dumb-ass. I should have stayed with you. Shaundi could have taken the parachute, I could have helped you fly the plane and fight off Loren’s people. You’d still be here!”
“Or we’d both be dead,” he could see the shrug of Johnny’s shoulders. “You can’t know for sure. Why sit here and ponder it when it’s only gonna keep the wound open?”
“Because I don’t want it to close,” Ellis admitted. “I don’t want you to be gone. And if you have to be gone, then I don’t want to lose my anger about it. That’s the only thing keeping me going some days. What else am I supposed to do anyway? They can’t find your body, so it feels...”
“Like I’m still somewhere out there,” Gat finished. “That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?”
“Yeah,” Ellis sighed, and drove the car down closer under the bridge, past the open parking lot, as close to the edge of the water as he dared. “It really fuckin’ would.”
He locked the doors, turned off the car, and pulled off his leather jacket only to toss it over himself as a blanket. He could never sleep in any of the cribs, not even their HQ, and it wasn’t like anybody came looking for him anyways unless something went wrong. They’d call him if they needed him, and they probably wouldn’t, which was good. Meant he had capable people in his roster.
That didn’t mean shit in the morning though, with the sun blinding him as it streamed in through the car windows, and his phone empty of any calls or texts.
“I could just disappear,” he sighed as he sat up and pulled his jacket back on. “I really could. So long as someone was still giving orders, and it appeared to be coming from me, they’d never know. They wouldn’t miss a step, or blink.”
He pulled his mirrored aviators from the glove box and put them on before pulling down the sun visor and using the mirror to check himself over.
“You look like shit,” he muttered, ruffling his dark purple hair. It needed a touch-up, the black and grey roots were already showing. Gat would have made fun of him for it, about how the “kids” were turning him grey so early.
But was it just the gang, or everything that resulted it from it that would make him eventually look like Father Christmas, that was the question.
He had no time to answer it now, as his phone finally rang.
“The Deckers are-”
“Where,” he interrupted flatly.
“Uh...near Nobody Loves Me, there’s a-”
“Great,” Ellis interrupted again, and ended the call with a tap to the Bluetooth hooked around his ear. He didn’t really feel like dealing with it, what he wanted was to drive all the way back to Stilwater, to his shitty little studio apartment he’d stayed in after breaking out of prison, where he and Gat had stayed after Aisha had died, where their relationship had bloomed and flourished every night that they were able to stay in and relax together, being a couple, not just gang leaders constantly on call like backwards firemen.
But he couldn’t do that. And no one else was going to go take care of the mess the Deckers were currently making.
He started the car, and tossed in his Queen mixtape CD into the CD player. The first few strains of Save Me woke him enough to finally put the car into gear and go.
It’s what Johnny would have done. Kept carrying on. And for Johnny’s sake, he couldn’t do any less than that.

Gat/Boss: “Is that.. my shirt?”
set between sr2/3-- thanku for the prompt!!! ♥
It was his turn to do the groceries--and god did he hate it. All the bullshit that she had written on the list was a pain in the ass to get, and he got funny looks from the cashiers for trying to buy five boxes of cereal but he’d done it, all that was left was to take it home.
He got into the apartment with some difficulty, having been too proud to do two trips to the car, so he struggled in with one, dumping the vast majority by the door.
“Johnny?” Becca called from the living room.
“What?”
“Nothin’,” Was her response. He rolled his eyes. “Just checking it was you.”
Who else was it going to be? Probably best that he didn’t try to answer that question.
Officially this was Becca’s apartment. Officially he still lived at Aisha’s house, alone, and officially that was the way it was going to stay. But in truth, he had essentially lived with her since they had managed to re-take Stilwater. He shared the bed, shared a bathroom, shared a couch. They just never spoke about it. Not ever.
When he headed into the living room he saw her curled on the leather sofa, a blanket over her legs and her blue hair down past her shoulders. He forgoed the shopping for her, stepping over the bags and dropping all his weight onto the sofa, and in turn, her legs.
“Hey!” She demanded, trying to wriggle out from under him. “Jesus-- a warning would’ve been nice.”
“Meh,” He let her struggle underneath him as he stretched out his legs, placing trainered feet onto the coffee table across from them. He felt a twinge in his chest as he received no criticism, no comment, not like Aisha used to. It was strange, but he almost missed it.
“Asshole,” She grumbled. She made another attempt to pull her leg out from under him, and succeeded.
His gaze followed hers onto the flatscreen, some shitty action flick that he had absolutely no interest in watching whatsoever. Until the familiar face rocked up on the screen. “Yo, are we really watching this again?”
“What?” Becca shrugged. “She’s hot.”
Bailey Lynn was Becca’s new ride of choice. She had taken to downloading all her films, TV appearances, and adverts, just to binge them whenever she wanted. Not that Johnny minded, she wasn’t hard to look at. Not at all.
“Ai’ght,” He shrugged, slotting both hands behind his head. “Turn her up.”
Both legs that had been curled against him now flopped onto his lap nonchalantly, still staring at the screen.  “Stop being so horny.”
Johnny glanced down at the tanned thighs now atop his. She was pushing it, but she always did. And he always pushed straight back. He rested a hand atop her thigh and just left it there, felt goosebumps form under his fingers, but said nothing.
They were both trying their best to pretend none of this was even happening.
They were pros by now.
As Lynn flexed on screen, he saw Becca’s toes curl into the leather on the sofa. He couldn’t blame her, as the woman on screen twirled and kicked a goon right in the face, even his mouth was going a little dry. He felt a smirk grace his face as he glanced at her, and then let his eyes go over her form--over the shirt that was shocking purple, that he definitely recognised, that was too oversized for her small frame.
“Hold up,” Bailey Lynn had been forgotten about. “Is that my shirt?”
Becca was still watching the screen, until he spoke. The brown eyes fixed on him as she rose a single eyebrow. “Yeah.” She looked him over, slowly, carefully, measured. “What about it?”
How he had held his composure recently, he did not know. But she would break before him. She always did.
He held her eye, rising to the challenge. “Suits you.”
He saw her throat bob as she swallowed. Felt her thighs tense under his hand. She was either going to back out, or give it one last go. He wasn’t surprised when she chose the latter. “I know.”
He let his voice go low. “You should wear it more often.”
There.
She dropped his gaze, cheeks turning a little pink, barely there enough to notice, but he had one this one. She coughed, running a hand through her hair as she pretended that the movie they were watching was the most interesting thing in the world.
He couldn’t wait for the rematch.

I know some people are going to agree and maybe disagree with me so feel free to note your opinions (in a non-aggressive way) but if a new Saints Row game came out...
I would want it to start with the boss waking up in their penthouse in Stilwater having dreamt Saints row 3 and 4 and dreaming that they were some goofy ‘puckish rogue’ and being relieved that they are still the type of person they were in Saints Row 2.
Or start in some way where it would cancel saints row 3 and 4.
now, this is coming from a person who prefers what they did in the first 2 games and while I can appreciate 3 and 4 for what they are, I really hate them from a story standpoint. So just bear in mind about what type of opinions I’m about to spew onto this post...
I thought Saints Row 3 was just...pointless. Like think about it, Johnny dies and then comes back in 4. You have the option to kill Shaundi and Killbane but then Shaundi comes back no matter what and Killbane is never mentioned again! The whole story introduces new characters but fails to tie in the plothole of saints row 2. It’s basically asking me to care about something brand new and expects me to delve into this storyline...but I don’t. Cuz I’m still reeling over everything that fucking happened in Saints Row 2.
Saints Row 3 introduces new characters that have a purpose in Saints row 4, but apart from that, the story adds fucking nothing.
And Saints Row 4? just....what the fuck happened. that’s all I’m gonna say lmao, the few things Saints Row 4 did was give me really cool throwbacks to the first two games and have a sorta interesting story. But like I said, I like it for being a quirky game but I hate it as a Saints Row game.
So, I would want a Saints row game that goes back to what made it so good in the first place. A city setting about gritty Gang warfare yet separates itself from GTA by being goofy and unrealistic in some aspects and having interesting characters and having waaaaay better gameplay mechanics.
Oh, and the option to be a fucking female that just annihilates six gangs all led by men. That is awesome.
I honestly truly believe, that no matter what direction the new game may take, there will be an audience for it. Because of course there are people who like the third and fourth game (somehow)  for their wacky ways and shock value. But as someone who needs a proper ending to the whole Dex saga and fucking misses the old games and really wants a game that has some oomph to it and desperately desires a good story again...I really hope it ditches the purple dildos and returns to smoking off of burning dead bodies and flailing through a falling rooftop as my skinny boss tussles with a giant, inked up bulky man with a mullet.
I miss what made this franchise so god damn good. I’m still bitter about what Gat out of hell did to Dex, I’m bitter about them throwing Troy out of the picture and goooooddddddd do I want that stupid Dex plothole done properly. I also miss the old boss, I did think the whole puckish rogue thing is funny but it got the the point where there is just no way in hell that boss and the old boss is the same person and no one can take them seriously EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE DECAPITATED PEOPLE, SHOVED THEIR GIRLFRIENDS INTO CAR TRUNKS AND HAD THEM RUN OVER BY MONSTER TRUCKS OR BURIED THEM ALIVE.
basically, bring back the old Saints Row but keep it’s quirks. But not the quirks that just renders me to not take anything seriously. Because the game can be serious just look at Aisha’s death and Johnny grieving, Julius’s death? Just look at Shogo’s death scene too or Lin’s. Don’t even get me started with Carlos Mendoza.
Like I said, people are gonna probably disagree and you can say why in the comments hell. I might even agree with you in some aspects. But I surely can't be alone in wishing for the Saints Row series to be the way it used to be.
(Not attacking anyone who likes the third and fourth game or the DLC’s this is just my opinion and of course my opinion isn’t law, come at me if you want to but..well do what you want but I won’t care cuz Ima stick by my opinion lmao)

Johnny/Gwen, Part 3 - SRIV / GooH (Canon Verse)
Masterpost
I’m on a roll here! The next post will be more hc for my Gat Lives in SRTT au.
Gwen confessed a few hours after rescuing him.
They quickly become physical after that and shared a bed in more ways than one. (Gotta make up for lost time.)
Gat’s nightmare is in 2 parts: First part is losing Aisha and the second part is losing Gwen.
Gwen has the ‘canon’ nightmare but the second nightmare takes places in Steelport despite the fact that people/events took place in Stilwater. Gwen’s second nightmare is reliving the times she’s lost the people she cared about. The dream version of her friends will also blame her for their deaths. (Johnny is the worst for her.) She required a bit of help from Kinzie to snap out of it.
Gwen felt like shit after waking up from the stasis pod, she slept for hours. (She wondered how Johnny faired better than her.)
Johnny was running on pure adrenaline for hours after the fact. He promptly passed out after they had sex.
Gwen wasn’t surprised that Zinyak underestimated her. “He wouldn’t be the first.”
Killed Zinyak? Victory sex! He found it very hot when she ripped off Zinyak’s head and spine.
Gwen was trapped in the crystal because she kept trying to fight the Devil. There was no way she was marrying his daughter.
King of Hell ending for Gat Out of Hell.
Gwen dies 6 months after GooH. It was an assassination. Being ruler of the universe, she would have quite a bit of enemies. That and some of the Zin wasn’t exactly happy with her. She had kinda given up at that point, she lost some of her fight. “I’m tired and I miss Johnny.”
Johnny is the first to greet her when she wakes up in hell. Gwen was mad at him for about five minutes before she knocked him off his feet in a hug. She may cry a little.
“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me?” “How the fuck am I suppose to do that?” “I don’t know! Ouija board?” “I fucking shot that thing. But common, baby. Let’s focus on the fact that we ain’t ever goin’ to be apart again.” “...You’re right.” “Yeah, well I fucking missed you.” “I missed you, too. You better not disappear again. If you do, I’ll find you and kill you myself.” “That’s my girl.”
Gwen has similar powers to Johnny’s except she’s more inclined to either burn or blow people up. Also, they finally get married.
“So with you being the King of Hell, does that make me the Queen?” “Damn straight it does.”

i have a meeting i have to get to in like less than 30 minutes but first i’m gonna talk about the sr2 christmas story idea i had on my morning run
it’s several months after the end of sr2. dane vogel is dead, dex escaped, and eric gryphon is trying to piece things back together within ultor. the story opens at night on christmas eve. everyone’s kinda free to do whatever; obviously some saints are celebrating at the bases, some went home, others are just out and about. pierce is with his family, shaundi decided to spend this christmas with laura and tobias and their family, and anteros is spending the holiday at troy’s place. their relationship is kinda(?) more official atp. who knows. anyway so anteros and troy are making out on the couch, having had a lot to drink (spiked eggnog so it’s festive) and they were watching christmas specials but lost interest pretty fast. suddenly troy’s phone rings and he goes to answer despite anteros telling him to ignore it. he looks back at anteros, concerned after hearing what the call was about.
cut to johnny in the stilwater pd holding cell. a few hours earlier johnny had been in a bar by himself, trying to ignore all the christmas shit, drowning his sorrows in some cheap beer. several drinks in and some drunk guy started bothering him, recognizing him as johnny gat. the guy keeps harassing him, and even though johnny thought he was doing fine just ignoring him, finally the drunk remarks that johnny looks pathetic, drinking alone in a bar for the holidays since he doesn’t have a wife to spend it with—not anymore. johnny sees red. he breaks his bottle over the guy’s head and begins to smash his head into the bar repeatedly, finally pinning him down and punching him, beating him to death. an off duty cop smashes a bottle across johnny’s head, knocking him unconscious and taking him to the station.
cut back to johnny in the holding cell. he’s asleep on the bench. anteros and troy are just staring at him for a minute before anteros goes in to try to wake him up/carry him out. troy, using his authority, told the department to just let him go. they hesitantly do. anteros wakes up johnny telling him they gotta go (“johnny, get up, c’mon man let’s go home.” “they’re letting me out already?” “yeah, you’re lucky i’m sleeping with the chief.” “heh, that’s pretty funny.” “…..yeah. hilarious. now let’s go.”)
anteros takes him back to his apartment. they briefly consider just going back to troy’s place bc it was closer but….probably better if they didn’t. anteros lays johnny on his bed and waits a minute before asking what happened. johnny doesn’t feel like talking about it, but anteros can tell something’s very wrong.
this is the first christmas johnny’s had to spend without aisha. he’d never been huge on the holidays, but aisha loved it. and she made him learn to love it. he can’t bring himself to go back to their house. it’s empty and undecorated (what would she think?). in fact, he can’t bring himself to do anything that reminds him of her. not since she died. he believes if he just keeps his mind off her, that things will get better, but lately he fears that he’s just ignoring her. and that makes him feel worse. he’s stuck between two worlds; he wants to think about her, and he does, but sooner or later her death flashes in his mind and he’s in a cold sweat and doesn’t know what to do. he misses her. he misses her so goddamn much. he should’ve saved her. why couldn’t he have saved her?
it’s the first time anteros has seen johnny cry. he never thought he was capable of it, in all honesty. he seemed larger than life, a man of legend, but here he was, lying on his bed desperately rubbing the tears out of his eyes.
he just never thought this first christmas would be so hard. he thought he was doing well, but that guy in the bar sent him over the edge. his knuckles are still covered in dried blood. anteros tells him that maybe the first step is to just try to have a nice christmas. if it was her favorite holiday, maybe the least they can do is try to enjoy themselves. the holiday isn’t over yet, they still have an hour or so. she wouldn’t want to see him get shitfaced at some bar; she’d want to see him have fun with people he cared about. if he’s up for it, they just lit up a big tree outside the phillips building a few hours ago. should be pretty. johnny asks if they can set the tree on fire. anteros smiles.

If you're taking these as writing prompts, "Soft, Funny, Dumbass Comfort After Painful Hurt" sounds like perfection for a Saints Row ship ;)
I was so happy to see the prompt in my Inbox, by the way! Thank you so much for sending one. :D
This is so rough around the edges it’s not even funny, but it’s great to get back to these nerds, even if it’s only in a shorter drabble like this.
—–
“You are the worst at this. We need to get away from the Samedi,we have ten guys on our asses, I ask you to grab us a getaway car-“
“Yeah, yeah, I did. So?”
“So, you grab us a car, we climb inside, I’m bracing myself, and what do we have?” V paused dramatically, the bandage still in her hands, and when he didn’t pick up on her thread she kept on going. “A stick shift. Amotherfucking honest to God stick shift. I swear, your only true andestablished weakness is just the best thing ever, man.”
“Fuck off,” Johnny shot, but didn’t make a move at all todismiss her. Just sat there as she taped the bandage to his forehead, frowningall the while.
“No, I mean it! You can get hit by a car – which you did,and that was fucking uncalled for – and bounce back from that in minutes. Youcan have rockets blow past you and there’s no flinching. People firing rightinto your face, and you’ll be missed by a hair. But you hop into a car that’s amanual, and everything just implodes.”
Fortunately, the hit from the other car hadn’t laid him out completely, but even with a staggering number of odds going in Johnny’s favor, it had been close. Full on tense, considering it was a goddamn car that managed to wing him.
For a full minute she’d been frozen in place. Left staring helplessly as he disappeared from sight, but he’d climbed back up, pissed more than ever and she’d barreled out of the car after him.
Only now had they been able to stop, and even then she was having trouble getting him to sit still. Hell, she was having trouble sitting still, not sure if any of her fussing was actually helping or not.
“You keep this up, and I’m throwing your ass out.”
“Nuh uh. You aren’t doing jack shit until this’s treated, and even then? I’m staying put, because if you keel over from blood loss oranything internal, Aisha will straight-up kill me. Guaranteed.” She drew herthumb across her throat, gagging briefly before grabbing for more antiseptic. “Hell, I thinkshe’d find a way to bring you back just to tell you what a dumbass stunt thatwas, and possibly send you packing right after that.”
He chuckled. “I think you’re forgetting something.”
“Oh, yeah? What?”
“The part where you stalling the shit out of it nearly putthe two of us right through the windshield. Think she’d love you then?”
“…It wasn’t that hard.” Gat gave her a look over hissunglasses.  “What? We stayed in the car, unlike the assholes behind us.”
“Because you stalled hard enough for a hit to shoot them outof their own motherfucking car!”
V sputtered. “How hard is it to remember to buckle up? Youfucking owe me for that, by the way, because lucky for you I put yours on for starters, and two, I’m one hell of a badass.”
“Is that right, boss?”
“Damn straight. Oh, and I’m thoughtful too.” She threw a cotton ball at hisface, and snickered when it bounced off of his nose. “Can’t forget that.”

Gatboss Week Day 4: Loyalty
It went to Playa and Johnny to Boss and Johnny to Chris and Johnny. They were an odd pair that easily fit
here's day 4 I skipped before, it's really short so sorry also I didn't like how it came out so much but I wanted to post something anyways;;
[ao3]
It went to Playa and Johnny to Boss and Johnny to Chris and Johnny. They were an odd pair that easily fit, two psychopaths destroying everything in their way. Even Julius Little saw and regretted it.
Way in the beginning they didn't think much of each other, Playa didn't look much as Johnny said and thought. Playa thought Johnny was loud and annoying, he never said it though, well to his face at least.
After awhile they went on missions together to tear down the Vice King's, both of their opinions changed. Playa was a fucking wrecking ball, just coming into battle, some times alone, destroying everything and everyone in his path. Johnny, still annoying and loud -- that never changed, was badass and a crazy motherfucker. Playa loved it. They both fit together, it just worked. They eventually became fast friends, even best friends. Playa saving Johnny after he got his knee shot and he sacrificed himself and Johnny rescuing Playa after getting fucked up by some crazy Carnales and saving his live, they're bond was strong and solid, it just couldn't be tampered with.
Even when Playa went on that boat alone that night and getting blown up, suffering severe burns and long lasting effects of the trauma after, their friendship and loyalty never was questioned.
Johnny tried to avenge him, he got sent to jail and put on death row. Even after all of that he had hope for the kid, he never believed he died, that kid survived getting stabbed and having his throat sliced plus getting shot, shoved in a trunk and almost drowned while witnessing another lieutenant die right next to him. How could he possibly die from a boat explosion if he survived all of that?
His belief of the Saints coming back never wavered. He just knew.
Playa now Boss coming to rescue him from death row proved that, he was never surprised he would come. It's like he gained a sixth sense or something being friends with him, it was unnatural.
Taking the city back was a challenge, losing friends on the way and hit by grief ten times as strong. But Boss had Johnny's back and Johnny had Boss'. Losing Aisha was devastating and broke Johnny, but the love and care Boss shown for him after was something else, not only he took him to the hospital gunning down Ronin on the way he went out of way to hunt down the bastard to killed her. There was something in Johnny that he never felt before. Was it appreciation? No. Admiration? Maybe. There was loyalty, though. That never left. But, maybe, just maybe there was love.
Did he love the Boss, hell yeah, he's his best friend. Was he in love? That was something he couldn't figure out, he was delusional.
They had this certain bond, a bond that kept them strung together. Soulmates.
After taking over Stilwater, their love started bubbling, started exploding like police cars after a rocket launcher was shot at them. They're undying loyalty shifted, they started loving each other.
It went slow, months of pining and teasing, flirting and making questionable jokes about each other's feelings. Ones you ponder and analyzed over and over, wondering did they actually meant that? Then it crashed like a runaway train, flirting turned to touching, touching turned to kissing, kissing turned to sloppy make outs. It was good, fucking amazing actually. It felt right.
Reality crashed down and that runaway train turned into a firey blaze.
Johnny sacrificed himself for the Saints but more importantly for him, he gave away his life for him. He was devastated, heart shattered in a million pieces. His best friend was gone, his so called boyfriend, his soulmate, gone forever because he was selfless. He questioned why exactly he did that, why Johnny Gat deserve to die and not him. He knew he was loyal to him and the feelings were mutual but Johnny didn't deserve that, he deserved to be with him, alive with the Saints. Boss couldn't forgive himself after that, it was his fault. He ran away like a coward while his best friend took on enemies alone. Why should he not feel guilty, if he did something Johnny would be alive.
His grief turned into anger, depression and revenge. People will pay for his death, and they did. Even after all the bloodshed, he still felt empty, he was still alone and heartbroken. His lover and best friend was gone and couldn't do anything about it, he was completely helpless. He went absolutely crazy.
Years pasted but the feeling of emptiness never left his heart, being the president was an unfamiliar feeling to him. It was different, being the Boss all the years now people called him president. Johnny couldn't see this unbelievable achievement and he couldn't see him sitting in that big office. He felt alone still, it was permanent feeling in his bones. He hated it, dispised it.
He ended up getting a bust of him on his desk and a portrait that hanged across from him. It didn't make him too alone after.
The shit show of getting abducted along with the others was something he didn't see, even with Kinzie's warnings.
On the way saving his crew from their nightmares, the possibility on Johnny being alive surfaced, and he clinged desperately to that thought like if he let go of it it'll disappear in to dust. Even with everyone's voices saying he's dead and he shouldn't rescue him, he ignored them. He knew they were wrong, he knew it in his heart. Johnny is alive and he promises to walk through hell to get him back, no matter what.
And he did, he walked in that simulation where Johnny was stuck repeating year after year, possibly going insane. And walked beside him, fighting virtual fakes of the Vk's and Ronin, and even "saving" Aisha at the end. But really at the end he saved Johnny. He couldn't believe it still, the butterflies in his stomach and his heart skipping a beat seeing Johnny in the flesh -- and in the nude.
He is here and he is alive.
Boss had no words, years being alone without him wishing he would return to him and he finally did. Boss was ecstatic. All he wanted to do was hold him tight to never have him leave again and kiss him. Just to touch him all over and try to convince himself he is real and alive.
After awhile, lost feelings bubbled over, anxiety filled his body. He wanted to tell Johnny everything that happened over the years, so much shit he missed. He wanted to talk about the past and all its glory. But importantly he wanted to tell him his feelings, his deep and genuine emotions, ones he held inside what feels like forever eating his insides. He felt like he wasn't able to have the privilege to do it.
He walked up to Johnny, whole body a wreck with so many emotions running through him at once. Next thing Johnny knew Boss just spilled his guts to him, he was surprised but at the same time he wasn't. He knew how he felt even before everything but they didn't have much time to explore it. He was surprised that Boss was open to say all of it, he was so proud of him. His love and adoration soared, heart basically bursting and every feeling flooding him at the same time.
Johnny didn't hesitate, he went in and sealed his lips over Chris' in an instant, hungry for waiting. Desperate to touch and kiss him all over him.

F, I, L, M, S, and W! (I didn't mean to form a word there, but whoops)
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Oof.  I… have no idea.
My first instinctive answer was this, from Fuzz:
“What are you doing and why must you be doing it in front of a fucking camera.”
“You really want to nail this bitch?” Gat leaned in closer, and Faith turned her head towards his breath where it tickled her ear. “Think about it… nothing destroys a career faster than evidence of a turgid, illicit romance.”
“Torrid,” she corrected, on reflex, as she half-leaned, half-pushed him back to look up at him.
“Hm?”
“Torrid romance.”
“Nah, I’m pretty sure I meant turgid.”
Faith blinked at him, then shook her head, weighed down by sheer incredulity.
“Right,” she said, meeting his expression with a tight, wry smile. “You’re a big boy; far be it from me to tell you whether you’re allowed to whip your dick around on primetime television.”
Mainly because it’s the type of wordplay I have a lot of fun with and am proud of when it works out.  Whether anyone else ever finds it funny is a question, but I get the impression at least some folks out there like my writing, so.
I’m also inanely proud of the fact I got the “You’re under arrest for everything,” thing into a fic here, and I don’t know if proud is the word but I have a lot of fun any time I get to write drunken shenanigans like here.
OH!
This:
He dropped the board flat on the floor, and the pointy thing on top of it.  It danced and spun back and forth.
“Yeah, yeah, can you get me in touch with the guy upstairs?”
W-R-O-N-G-N-U-M-B-E-R
“Fine, then can you ring big red for me?”
T-H-A-T-L-I-N-E-H-A-S-B-E-E-N-D-I-S-C-O-N-N-E-C-T-E-D
“So it’s just you and me?”
YES
“Got any good advice on how to deal with women?”
NO
“Figures.”
was a literal last minute addition under the Yuletide deadline that made me really happy that it popped into my head when it did, because the visual was picture perfect and made me laugh.  And considering the weight of the rest of the fic, it was a nice light little capstone to it, too.
I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
*snrk*
All of the tropes listed below?
Idk.
*think*
I guess maybe romance stuff.  I always felt really exposed as a kid liking romance stuff, so for a very long time I either suppressed it or pretended I didn’t, I guess.  I definitely read for the fluffy mushy feelings, but it’s still hard to admit that out loud.  (And then there’s the feeling that the specific type of romance stuff I like is somehow SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT ME AS A PERSON, which… nah.  But y'know.  There’s a reason I still can’t write teh lemons.)
Also, I mean, I’ve caught hell for writing fic instead of filing the serial numbers off and monetizing like a sane American should, so fic in general can be a pretty guilty pleasure thing even though it shouldn’t be.
L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?
… … …I’m one of those people who revises on the fly while writing.  :P
I have a difficult time reading my own writing, but it’s better than it used to be.  These days I can manage a spelling, homophones, and redundancy check after I finish.
Perfectionism is dumb.
M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
…I have a lot, and I’ve probably forgotten some.
For SR, I have four prompts left from like five years ago, all of them for Halloween and I should probably get on them right fucking now so I don’t miss it again this year.
I have a bunch of pre-Boss Saints one-offs with Gat, Dex, Lin, and Aisha (and occasionally Julius and Troy.)
I have a few longer ideas that I keep putting off, because I suck at writing longform.  One involves Faith’s stint in prison between SR2 and SR3 that lands the Saints under Ultor’s corporate branding.  Another is the Faith backstory fic involving a murder cult trying to avert the end of the world.
More road trip fic in general, on that latter topic.
I have a ‘Saints go to Japan [for contrived probably Ultor reasons]’ idea mostly just get them squaring off with one of Shogo’s cousins.  I have something involving the Samedi and how utterly fucked up a person can get on Loa Dust… I had a Zinyak’s Red Door idea, I don’t know if I wrote down enough of it to remember where I was going with it…
I really want to write more Oleg sometime.
See also: Asha.
I want to write a SR movie script before the actual movie comes out, for the lulz.  I had the core idea a good few years back now, I just haven’t gotten to it.
…and, yeah.  My SR folder has like 3 times as many files as the rest of my fic folders combined, send help.
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Us against the world.
Our heroes either failing or otherwise coming within an inch of completely losing everything up to and including their lives before pulling it together for one last push to make it through.
Hurt/comfort.
Presumed dead.
A wide variety of romance tropes, including but not limited to: battle couples, UST, bickering to hide feelings, light-hearted teasing, heavy emotional defenses that only fully come down in private, heart-eyes in general… etc, etc.
Characters being coerced by the enemy in some way, especially if they have to do things against their grain or fight their friends or something for highest angst value.  Good people from the bad guy’s side switching sides.
Huddling for warmth.
All of the love triangles resolving to OT3s.  All the OT3s in general, actually.
…I know I’m forgetting some, I like a lot of tropes.  XD
W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
I tend to like more general prompts, because the way ideas spark in my brain I don’t like to feel like someone really wants to see something specific ‘cause I’m just… gonna let 'em down somehow.
Even with general prompts, I sometimes get the feeling that I’m going off prompt, even though whenever I’m writing to a prompt is because the idea came from the prompt in the first place.
It’s my brain, I don’t know how it works.  XD
