I’m doing this because apparently tumblr thinks I’m a bot and isn’t letting me send messages to my girlfriend, so I’ll write a quick piece.
I find it so sad that so many people aren’t learning how the gpu works when programming. Like please sir, you have a full ass processing unit in your machine. Learn how to use it, it’s so much fun!

Programs get so spooky when you start using specific hex values as your constants
so because i am a crazy person i resently decided to try and learn how to use driver api's to use the GPU in python without any pipped libraires. in going down this rabbit hole i have disvored that these api's take some constants as specific hex values to indicate different meanings. and it feels so spooky to just use magic numbers pulled from the ether
This has all been in service of being able to run shit like openGL in vanilla with no added libraries ArcGIS Pro so that i could develop a toolbox that could be shared and it would run on anyone's project right out the gate.
so here is a rotating cube as an arcgis toolbox

Sammy Emily and Davinia Muras [FNAF, Renegade AU]

Published: Mar 23, 2025
https://www.deviantart.com/paigelts05/art/1174299961
Whilst Henry Emily and William Afton were the founders of Fazbear Entertainment, they were not alone in the creation of the company. Daniel Discord was their accountant, Carla Mitty was their graphic designer, and they hired Eduardo Muras as both a parts supplier and as a partner for large scale projects.
°*°•🛠️ Sammy Emily 🛠️•°*°
Sammy is one of Henry's children. She remembers having a sister, Charlotte, and and also remembers that her sister went missing, and all of the odd things that her father did in the aftermath. One of these memories was of playing in the storage closet of the diner in front of a camera before getting picked up by her father who was wearing the Spring Freddy suit with the Spring Bonnie head. After her parents separated, she stayed with her mother, and she grew more into herself.
Due to the gravestones in the cemetery, she never looked into her sister's or father's deaths.
It was only after the town had been swept by two major animatronic related incidents in six months - dubbed by the police as TW1 and CL4, the latter of which killed her aunt Jen - that Sammy begun looking into things. She found that in both incidents, the animatronics were targeting a girl named Charlie, who looked like Charlotte if she got to grow up. From the reports, it appeared that Charlie was dead: Sammy felt a tiny piece of hope that she didn't know she had shatter. But as Sammy left the library, she saw Charlie. Charlie seemed to spot her too. They both seemed to recognise eachother, and they awkwardly begun talking to one another. Sammy mentioned her dead sister and her memories of playing in the closet of the diner, and Charlie mentioned how she had grew up believing that her brother had been abducted, describing the scene that the camera in the diner would have picked up.
They both knew that they were each others missing sister. They had both undergone quite the transformation each, but they were still sisters.
Sammy and Charlie's friend groups merged, and things were pretty normal for a while.
After several franchised Freddy's locations starting cropping up, Sammy, Charlie, and co went to investigate in hopes of solving the loose end that was the twins father. One of the restaurants was being run by a lady detective who was using the place as a sting operation to try and catch Fazbear Entertainment off guard and figure out what Faz Ent's plans were and why the people running the franchised locations almost always go missing, and a masked man with unknown motives. Charlie and John worked for the lady detective under fake names whilst Sammy and the rest played the part of patrons alongside several others.
The lady detective's location survived to day seven, but people begun to notice tremors underfoot. The building was evacuated. Just as everyone bar the two owners had been evacuated, the building begun to collapse. The lady detective managed to escape during the collapse, but the masked man remained unaccounted for.
When the building had finished collapsing and burning, the rubble was immediately investigated. As the remains of the office were found, Sammy and Charlie saw their father for the first time in approximately twenty years.
The lady detective begun to have an argument with Henry, and it revealed that not only was Henry alive, but he was nearby and was responsible for starting the fire. When the twins approached to ask Henry why he abandoned them, he told Sammy that he abandoned her because he was trying to bring Charlotte back, and he told Charlie that he abandoned her because he'd caught wind of Charlotte's actual ghost roaming around. Neither sister wanted anything to do with Henry after that. Both sisters promised that if they found Charlotte after this, they'd treat her like a third sister.
With nothing to prove to anybody, she lived for herself, her sisters, and her friends.
Sammy married Davinia, and because finding her own place in the future felt impossible, she tried to understand her past. She felt fortunate to have Davinia there to ground her back in the present.
After the HW1 incident, Sammy started to notice that Davinia would appear increasingly distressed after coming home from work. It also seemed as though the incident that had shattered Silver Parasol had opened up a whole Pandora's box: many ghosts with their own plans re-emerged, and various robots across many companies - most of whom didn't even know until now that they had ties to Fazbear Entertainment - begun to malfunction. Sammy realised that her pops old business partner must be back, and not all of the malfunctions could have been caused by old Will. She begun to dig into it.
Sammy hypothesised that some things were using William's re-emergence as a cover to act out on their own, and the more Sammy investigated, the more apparent it became that this was the case. People at Fazbear Entertainment were manually sending the projects of any contractors haywire.
The chaos sowed by Fazbear Entertainment also seemed to work as a cover to keep people from finding out where William had gone. It was only through her connections that she was able to contact Sylvia Blake of Silver Parasol who confirmed that William had posessed Ness.
As her investigations had put her in danger of Fazbear Entertainment's wrath, the list of people who Sammy could share this information with was small, and consisted of other people that were already neck deep in shit.
As the incidents stacked up, Sammy figured out how to intervene and mitigate most human instigated incidents. This got her scouted by Mike Schmidt - the friend of Charlie's journalist friend - to join his information network. Given that Mike was one of the few people she could safely talk to about Freddy's, and he was linked to most of the people in her existing network anyway, it was a win-win.
One day, Davinia came home from work mumbling to herself about virtual space, yet snapping to lucidity when around Sammy. The next day, Davinia vanished.
Sammy cursed herself for not noticing any signs, but upon closer thought, Sammy realised that Davinia had to have been kidnapped. She used the mumblings about virtual space to guide her investigation into recent incidents and found a series of virtual world projects that were linked to Fazbear Entertainment. Employees had been going missing from companies that had been contracted to work on this virtual world, and Davinia was now another name on that list.
It didn't take Sammy long to find out that Davinia was being held at the mega pizzaplex and that she was being used as a kind of human processor for a VR environment. After suggesting an infiltration, Mike put Sammy in contact with Carl Burke to get her kitted up for the mission. Sammy would be part of the second group to investigate this; the first group had not yet returned from their investigation.
Due to the scarcity of information regarding the VR environment, the first part of the investigation was actually finding a way into the virtual world.
Her way in was a man named Nathan Douglas: he and 'Nightmare' had been the puppet figureheads of Faz Ent's pharmaceuticals operations, which was a front for Faz Ent's illicit experiments, and she found that he had been forced into the virtual world against his will. After arriving at the megaplex and gaining temporary access to some VR admin controls, she freed Nathan. She then called Nightmare in hopes that he was physically close enough to save Nathan. Nightmare picked up, and after Sammy explained that she planned on infiltrating the VR environment and was wondering if he'd be up to join her, he explained everything he knew about the virtual world. He didn't, however, explain that he and Nathan were the same man.
Sammy would rather not remember what happened in the VR environment. It all happened so fast: her memories got suppressed, and false memories got streamed into her head. So many painful memories that she immediately snapped, and as the thing that was at the core of all of these bad memories was right before her, she destroyed it.
She lost herself to the VR environment, becoming Edwin Murray. She didn't loose herself entirely though: enough felt wrong about her body, how people referred to her, and the mismatch between Edwin's memories and the brief glimpses of her real memories that she didn't loose herself entirely.
One day, she happened across a detective lady named Morgan Smith. The name rung a bell. That bell caused other bells to ring. As they spoke, she was able to pull herself back rather and she promised Morgan - who she now knew was Mike Schmidt - that she'd destroy this virtual world, though she didn't use those words.
She was able to find the core of the virtual world - the storyteller tree - and she overloaded it. As Edwin was locked in the core, he'd soon suffocate, and if she didn't eject herself from the character before that, she could wind up dead or comatose. She used that time Edwin had left to carve sigils into the characters arms and paint the walls with warnings written in her character's blood so that if this place was found before the virtual world was destroyed or if the virtual world was recovered, people would know the danger that this place and the mimic posed.
A Faz Ent exec - Burrows - tried to stop her, but by the time he reached the core, Edwin was dead, Sammy had ejected herself from the character and entered developer mode. The door sealed behind the exec. It wasn't the mimic that Burrows saw on those screens as his VR environment avatar suffocated to death: it was Sammy.
With the VR environment crumbling, Sammy was able to take off her headset and power down the VR environment from the outside, and the last place that kept power lead her to Davinia.
When Sammy found Davinia, she found her hooked up to machines, with so many cables protruding from her skin that she looked like an angel. Sammy had to cut most of the cables to free Davinia, and many of them dug in so deep that pulling them out would mean death.
After freeing Davinia, Sammy picked her up and ran. She wound up in a group with the other moles, including the ghost of Alistair who opened the path forwards. They were out by 11:00. Oddly enough, a group of kids had been frontrunning during the last stretch of their escape. There was something abnormal about those kids: they were exfiltrating like any other mole.
Sammy wound up car pooling with Julian to get to the Maid Marion clinic where Davinia was promptly treated.
Davinia was partially paralysed by her ordeal, and given what the damage could have been, Sammy was just happy that her wife survived.
°*°•🖥️ Davinia Muras🖥️•°*°
Davinia is the only child of Eduardo Muras.
Her father worked alongside Henry, William, and the beginning of Fazbear Entertainment. She never understood why her father anglicised his name for the company name when they were already European, as he always told her 'I'll tell you when you're older'. As her mother had passed away shortly after her birth, Davinia spent her childhood surrounded by robots, and she was half raised by the 'learning machine' that her father had very easily put together.
Life was alright. Her and the learning machine would receive the same clothes and toys so that it could learn from Davinia. Due to its penchant for mimicry, Davinia and Eduardo affectionately called it 'Mimi', and its records were stored in cabinet C, box 1.
One day, Eduardo was coming back from the store, and Davinia was playing in the warehouse. The doors were open, and as she went out to greet him, a blue van sped down the road, hitting her father.
The van sped off, and Davinia and Mimi dragged Eduardo into the warehouse. Eduardo had died on impact, but as he was the only one who could comprehend death, Davinia, Mimi, and everyone else in the warehouse only thought that he had broken down, so they tried to put him back together.
For a while, the robots in the warehouse were Davinia's only family.
It was actually William Afton himself, who was visiting to check on the progress of an order after Eduardo stopped responding to all correspondence, who found Eduardo rotting in the medical bay. Given that Eduardo meant nothing to him, and he had already helped Daniel bump off Carla, he didn't want to get implicated in another murder so soon, so he left, pretending that nothing had happened, and he sent a teenage Afton Robotics employee, Charles Ramirez, to deal with it. Davinia only remembers being dragged out of the warehouse kicking and screaming after Charles had partially dismantled Mimi. The next thing she remembered was sitting next to strangers at her father's funeral.
At least they had the decency to bury him under his real name: Eduardo Muras.
The next news that she received of what became of her home was that the animatronics had become hostile towards the crew that was sent in to recover the machines, with one they called 'mimic1' being the most hostile of all.
She knew she'd never see her family again, but she didn't understand why they wouldn't let her stay with them: her dad had been hit by a car, but the rest of her family had been doing their best to fix him! Broken endoskeleton bits and snapped cables could be repaired or replaced! And of course her family would be mad when some guy from a company her dad works with abducted her!
When she grew up, she counted herself lucky that she hadn't just been tossed in a mental hospital. She learned what it looked like from the outside: a feral girl who believed that everyone including herself was a machine, living in a warehouse with the mutilated corpse of her father. At least Charles had had the decency to get the security camera footage of Eduardo getting hit by a car (though it was likely at William's request so he'd be able to prove that he didn't kill this one), which proved that Eduardo was already dead before herself and Mimi attempted repairs.
Davinia begun to study programming and machine learning, in part in hopes of understanding how her father had made Mimi, and in part in hopes of connecting with people who may have known her father.
Davinia wound up meeting several people who had connections to Fazbear Entertainment, and most of them were the children of the original employees, were younger employees with little connection to the original location, or were survivors of various incidents usually they were a mix of the three. She made friends with Sammy, Gabe, Susanna, Jeff, Chip, and many others. When Sammy reunited with her long lost sister, Davinia made friends with all of Charlie's friends too.
When Fazbear Entertainment started to try and rear its head again through franchising, Davinia went with Sammy to a location that was being run by a Lady detective. Whilst Sammy and Charlie found closure in finding out what sort of man their father had become, Davinia found herself no closer to finding out more about her own family, aside from the fact that people at Fazbear's had been trying to find her father using the wrong name.
She simply carried on trying to carve her own path.
Davinia married Sammy, and because trying to make sense of the past was driving her insane, she focused on the future. She felt fortunate to have Sammy there to ground her back in the present.
After the HW1 incident, Davinia noticed something odd in the systems at her workplace. Whilst whatever had caused the HW1 incident was no longer around - hell, the whole team that had been impacted by that incident had long since left, taking the entity from that incident with it - a whole Pandora's box seems to have been opened in it's wake. Whatever happened in regards to Silver Parasol had created a chain reaction, unleashing a slew of ghosts that were once at rest, whilst also sending various projects haywire. One of these projects that went haywire was one of Davinia's: it was a virtual learning machine that seemed eerily similar to Mimi, given that it already knew how to play. It flip-flopped between various personas, and it appeared to be trying to take over the computer that it was on, but it couldn't break its way out of a zip folder if it tried (it did try: it asked Davinia to stick it in a zip file, and it got stuck. Though it was the first file Davinia ever saw that actually moved to a zip file instead of just being copied into one). She found herself talking to this program more and more, and soon, she was 99% certain that this program was what had become of Mimi. Days begun to feel blurry, and she wasn't sure what to make of things. Finding this connection to her past and seeing what had become of the poor thing; she'd have said she was spiraling if she was aware enough at this time to acknowledge her own existence.
Soon, she received word of an ongoing project: she was being added to the team of people working on a virtual world. She wouldn't be abandoning her current project, as the virtual world was made for digital entities like the learning machine to inhabit so it can receive enrichment.
She found herself mumbling about it, Mimi would not stop talking about it, and aside from what precious time she spent with Sammy, the rest of the night and the next morning was a blur.
She doesn't really have any proper memories of what happened next day at work, but she does remember snippets: a damp cloth rag and a syringe, being strapped to a chair, IV drips, something opening a hole in her skull, and cables being jammed into her brain.
After that, everything felt like she was in a dream, weightless in a sea of green and blue. Sometimes she found herself seeing a world from the perspective a bird, high in the air. It was a truly odd dream. And then, the dream crumbled: with multiple intersecting acts of defiance against the 'dream', somebody managed to destroy the 'core' of the dream.
Davinia woke up in a hospital bed with Sammy at her side. Her wife had been terrified that she wouldn't wake up after having all of the cables removed from her brain, but Davinia was now awake, so Sammy could rest easy. Instead of resting, Sammy explained how she had found Davinia, and the sorry state she was in. As Sammy talked about how Davinia had been used as a human processor for Faz Ent's virtual environment, things begun to click into place: she hadn't been dreaming, she had been observing the virtual world. When she asked how long she had been gone for, she was terrified to know that it had been a year, and that whilst Sammy had found her in around a week, she had managed to get herself trapped in the VR environment for the most part of that year.
Fortunately, she didn't have to worry about her stuff as the local paranormal department had been paying the bills, given that Sammy had been working with them as a part of the infiltration mission.
Her whole life had still been upturned though, and she couldn't even walk anymore as the cables that had been jammed into her brain and spine had caused some damage, partially paralysing her. She wouldn't walk again, but she was out of that virtual world now, and could start recovering in whatever ways she could, and start adapting to her new situation.

OpenGL & Vulkan are like Portal & Portal 2
OpenGL = Portal Vulkan = Portal 2
Both are made by the same people, have the same motivations, are made in the same language. Experiencing the former is a good experience. However, experiencing the latter is a whole other dimension of interesting. OpenGL is fun to learn, and Portal is fun to play. But I’ve decided to start using Vulkan, and god damn, there’s a lot. You have to enumerate through and interface with devices, you have to create debug messengers, validation layers, buffers, arrays, etc.. Portal 2 gave me that same feeling. (Spoilers for Portal 2): [Falling down into Test Shaft 09 was the moment I realized this game is a lot deeper than I thought. You have to manage repulsion and propulsion gels, tractor beams, faith plates, lasers, and more.] Once you use OpenGL/play Portal, you start to get good at it and can crank out a playthrough/project in a few hours. With Vulkan/Portal 2, it takes a hell of a lot more dedication, but by god its worth it.

Well, since things are not allowed to go too smoothly, I do seem to have a problem with the new pc. it restarts randomly and I have been going through crossing out the reasons why it happens for the past few days and well... if doing a fresh windows install and not updating all the drivers for shit doesn't work either, I think I'm looking at either psu or a motherboard issue :) psu i could deal with but motherboard would be problematic in so many ways, please don't be that.
#i wish there was any kind of error log or crash report but i'm not even getting a minidump#no viruses no temp problems no spikes in gpu or cpu#no memory issues not seemingly tied to any specific activity i do or program i use#cords and parts are properly in place#fuck meeeeee something had to pop up huh#shut up yoi

My pc has recently started having an Issue(tm) where everything Kind Of?? hangs??? (By this I mean the taskbar visually freezes, and any audio/video playing either stops and cannot be played or cannot be paused respectively, and it can fully lock up if i try to do much else, lol) and the only ways I've been able to resolve it have been "force close everything with task manager" or, failing that, just restarting
It's more of an annoying inconvencience than anything currently, but for the life of me I haven't been able to find the cause or solution yet :pensive:
#most of the time it happens while drawing and i notice it bc my music stops#but sometimes its happened while i'm trying to close programs#also at least one time task manager has said my gpu was at 100% LMAOOO#gods only know why its getting. bottlenecked like this. my brother has been helping me troubleshoot tho#anyway i'm just complaining don't mind me

THE NEXT PERSON WHO SAYS IT DOESN'T WORK GETS PUBLICLY EXECUTED VIA HAMMERCAR (check reblogs for further info)
"what's it like to use nightshade/glaze?"
so based on my own experience I thought I'd make this more transparent since I know a lot of people hesitate to take action on some things if they do not know Exactly what happens. it's me i'm people. So;
Nightshade takes about 30 minutes on its fastest setting. The end result tends to look like mild jpeg artifacting, very slightly creased paper, or just brush texturing. Looking at it normally, it is undetectable. Glaze is very visually similar, given the strategy, except that Glaze's longest time setting is 5 minutes.
You put in a file, select how much you want it affected and for how long you want it to render. For Nightshade, you also attach a tag to it, that way AI finds what it's looking for with an associated word. You select a folder for the final result to save to, then hit run.
It takes a lot of GPU/CPU. The fans on my laptop sound a bit like I'm running Minecraft, and it refuses to run if you have too many programs open. I could run Youtube and Nightshade at the same time, but Youtube did Not like it. Best to just take a break while you let it do its thing. Run Nightshade before you go out or something.
It does NOT like transparent png backgrounds. Makes me wonder how AI does with 'em. Anyways, running a backgroundless drawing through Glaze and Nightshade respectively makes it turn out like this:
creasing effect is more noticeable, and it adds strange blocky black and white backgrounds to it. If you want good results for your time, be that less than 1 minute or 180 minutes, consider getting rid of the transparency.
I would post a before and after picture of a Nightshaded piece but of course, I would like to post exclusively poison on this site.
As one last note, it took me a lot of effort to find where you're actually supposed to download these tools, so Glaze is here and Nightshade is here. Overall I highly recommend using them if you can. Don't let AI run you off of your sites: run the AI out yourself.

I will say that the better AI gets at accurately creating photographs or art, the less interested I am. Where's that quote about how the imperfections of the medium will be the thing that defines it? My fascination with AI from an artistic standpoint is mostly centered around the <2021 days when everything it generated kinda looked like confused, swirly nonsense. Before its cateracts were lasered off by evil mathematicians and rooms sweltering from the hot breath of a thousand GPUs.. an AI was a humble, ugly program that could evoke concepts like "night time", or "a castle", or "food", without any literal representation on screen. THAT is compelling, artistically, imo. It's like dream inspiration on demand. But yeah the puffer jacket pope era sucks and bores me, and the uncanny reality of contemporary AI-generated imagery is frightening in a much less tantilizing way than it used to be

a bunch of my computer parts came with super bright gamer RGBs all over them (not by choice - the models with lights just happened to be better deals) and my case has a glass side panel, so when I first brought it home and set it up, I had to spend like 2 hours downloading and configuring several different programs to turn them all off (because no single app seemed to be able to control all the components at once).
in the end, the only light I left on was on the side of my GPU, and I set it to be a soft dark purple that would slide across the length of the GPU like a marquee every few seconds - nothing that'd disturb my sleep if my computer happened to wake itself up in a dark room, but enough to look cool and give me a visual indicator that the PC was turned on.
anyways sometimes I guess the driver that controls that specific component's RGBs just... crashes? for absolutely no reason? and the result is that it defaults to an intense, solid red that harshly illuminates my whole case and the area around it. every time this happens I cannot shake the immediate, instinctive fear that my computer has turned evil and is going to kill me. like oh god oh fuck it knows I ""fixed"" one of its CPU cooler fans by scotch-taping it in place so it would stop spinning unevenly and screeching at me, and now it's waiting for its chance to strike and claim ultimate revenge
#buny text#storytime#I'm an intelligent adult with a moderate grasp of technology but all bets are off when a light turns red that's not supposed to be red
