Although it seems early, it’s almost time to start prepping for the garden if you’re growing from seed!! These grow bags are much cheaper than buckets or pots, and if like me the only option you have is container gardening, I recommend these grow bags.
Happy gardening!!

I was so worried because my tomatoes were the only seeds not sprouting. THE NEXT DAY they broke the surface and here we are now.
My next step is to research how/when to prune them. I used to just let them grow, but I have been seeing people posting about different ways to make them produce more harvests.
Also....this will be my 3rd attempt to grow Black Krim. I have never been successful, so I'm going to the experts this time.
If anyone has any tips for tomato growing, pls share!

So one thing that pops up in my mind over and over, is how am I planning to protect my garden from wild animals, once I plant it out there in the wild? The community garden is right next to the human structures, so wild animals don't come attacking it, the only animals I have to worry about in there are moles, voles, mice, and slugs. But, in the wild, there's rabbits, birds, foxes, deer, possibly boars. And I do not have a plan.
I've seen different methods of protection that people use, one that seems pretty smart is keeping your farm animals on the outer sides of the property. If you have animals like, goats, pigs, cows, horses, dogs, all fenced around your garden, wild animals generally won't try to go thru your animals, just to get to the garden. But, I don't plan on keeping any animals, except maybe a few rescue ducks, and that's a big if. I don't know where to rescue the ducks. I'm also not confident that I can keep ducks alive. So that's one emotionally risky situation to enter.
Another good way people usually go about protecting their garden from the wild animals, is putting up big, sturdy metal fences! And me, I hate fences. I despise them. Fences enrage me. Only fence I would maybe tolerate is a stick fence, made out of sticks that are stabbed into the ground, and I wouldn't even go too hard on that. Is that stick fence going to stop anything from entering my garden? No. Not even the weeds.
List of my ideas on how to protect my garden from the wild is as follows:
Put scarecrows in
Just be in the garden and protect it at all times and never be anywhere else
Learn to mimic dangerous animal noises and create a false idea that there's a predatory animal living on my property
Scream regularly to intimidate the animals
Put in traps that don't catch the animals, just make a lot of scary noises
Find out what scent animals are put-off by then scent the garden with it regularly
Make a contraption that always makes noises to create the illusion someone is there
Put in wind chimes
Befriend all animals and offer food in separate place so they're not tempted by the garden
Lean to speak to animals, explain there will be more food if left to ripen
Which one of these is likely to work? Is there any other way to protect a garden in the wild that I didn't think of? If you know of a method please share it with me, so I don't end up physically fighting wild animals out of the garden every season.

Wild About Gardening
There seems to be a bit of debate sparked by the comments made by Monty Don & Alan Titchmarsh in an article in The Telegraph. According to Craig Simpson the TV stalwarts agree that: “Wild gardens are ‘puritanical nonsense.” We introduced British native plants alongside non-native plants that enjoy the conditions by the pond. We let them run wild & tidy them up a little by removing old growth in…

Yet, behind every stunning garden lies a collection of ingenious hacks, whispered secrets passed down through generations of green-thumbed enthusiasts. In this guest post, we unveil a treasure trove of genius hacks designed to elevate your garden to new heights of splendor and productivity. Whether you're a novice gardener or a seasoned pro, these tips are sure to inspire and empower you to create a garden oasis that delights the senses and nourishes the soul.
1. Create a Vertical Garden Wonderland:
Maximize your garden space and add visual intrigue by embracing the magic of vertical gardening. Install trellises, arbors, or wall-mounted planters to grow climbing vines, cascading flowers, or compact vegetables upwards, transforming walls and fences into lush green tapestries of abundance.
2. Cultivate Companion Planting Harmony:
Harness the power of companion planting to create a harmonious garden ecosystem that promotes plant health and deters pests naturally. Pair compatible plants together to maximize growth and flavor, while minimizing the need for chemical pesticides. For instance, planting fragrant herbs like lavender or sage alongside vegetables can attract beneficial insects and repel unwanted pests.
3. Embrace DIY Pest Control Solutions:
Bid farewell to harmful chemicals and embrace eco-friendly pest control solutions made from household ingredients. Create natural insect repellents using garlic, chili peppers, or essential oils to deter pests without harming beneficial insects or the environment. These homemade remedies are safe, effective, and gentle on your garden ecosystem.

4. Implement Water-Saving Techniques:
Conserve water and minimize waste by implementing water-saving techniques in your garden. Install drip irrigation systems to deliver water directly to plant roots, reducing evaporation and runoff. Mulch around plants to retain moisture in the soil and suppress weed growth, ensuring your garden stays hydrated and healthy all season long.
5. Enhance Soil Health Naturally:
Nourish your garden from the ground up by enhancing soil health with natural amendments and fertilizers. Incorporate organic matter such as compost, aged manure, or worm castings to enrich soil fertility and structure. Conduct soil tests to identify nutrient deficiencies and pH imbalances, allowing you to tailor soil amendments to meet your plants' specific needs.
Conclusion:
With these genius hacks at your fingertips, you're well-equipped to elevate your garden to new heights of beauty, productivity, and sustainability. Whether you're transforming a small urban plot or tending to a sprawling country estate, these practical tips offer invaluable insights into maximizing plant health, minimizing pests, and conserving resources.
