Helena Hind and Jane Lee at MMFA:
Fox News figures resorted to pearl-clutching and wild analogies after the Zoom fundraiser “White Dudes for Harris” went viral. The fundraiser — which ended up raising over $4 million for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign — sparked an uproar at the pro-Trump network, with personalities reacting to the event’s success by comparing it to “racial segregation,” making allegations of “mommy issues,” and saying it could lead to “white guys for… Nazism.”
Cry harder, Fox “News”!

Tucker Carlson nails Pence on actually caring about the USA and it’s people. He’d later say it was EASY to expose Pence’s lack of concern for America.

When the villain attempts to manipulate the heroine.
[The gifs above show scenes from The Vampire Diaries and THE FLASH where villains Klaus and Eobard Thawne try to manipulate Bonnie and Iris into leaving Damon to continue to be tortured and killing Barry. Both attempts fail because Bonnie calls Elena and Iris shoots Thawne instead.]

Meghann Myers at Defense One:
Conservative podcaster Graham Allen started a new job at the Pentagon on Monday, as the Defense Department’s digital media director, a Defense official who was not authorized to speak on the record told Defense One. According to an email sent to the Pentagon’s public affairs staff, Allen “will further strengthen our ability to communicate effectively.” The official did not provide any details about Allen’s job description. “I have been asked by the president and by Secretary Hegseth to serve my country again, and come to DC specifically to help with the Pentagon side of things,” Allen said in a recorded message aired on his Dear America podcast Monday morning. “And that’s all I’m going to get into there.” He’s settling into his new position as DOD prepares to fire roughly 5,400 probationary employees in the first step of a review that the Pentagon expects to result in laying off 5 to 8 percent of its civilian workforce—more than 60,000 employees—alongside a hiring freeze. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth first mentioned Allen’s name in a Thursday video statement, as one of the people who will be helping DOD “communicate directly, rather than through the filter of media outlets.”
The other is Sean Parnell, a combat veteran and previous Republican congressional candidate in Pennsylvania, who just came on board as Hegseth’s assistant for public affairs.
[...] His press secretary, John Ullyot, announced Friday that the Pentagon’s briefing room will be closed to the press outside of public briefings, changing longstanding policy that allowed credentialed reporters to record video reports or use the building’s only public wireless internet connection to file stories.
The Pentagon brings on right-wing podcaster Graham Allen to head up its digital media operations. This is yet another pick from a member of the right-wing media apparatus within the Trump Administration.

My reasons for this shipping of these 2?
Well Tom Fisher and Aidan Gillen had worked together before, 2 times in fact! First in the film “Shanghai Knights” (2003) (where Tom Fisher played Sir Arthur “Artie” Conan Doyle and Aidan Gillen played Lord Nelson Rathbone respectively, as shown in the first picture)
Tumblr media
Then they worked/acted together again for a second time in the indie film “Treacle Jr” (2010) (where Tom Fisher played the character “Tom” and Aidan Gillen played the character “Aidan” respectively, as shown in the 2 pictures below)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus ofc they both each portrayed 2 very highly influential comedians (and who were also complicated figures themselves) in their respective biopics (Tom Fisher/Graham Chapman ; Aidan Gillen/Dave Allen) who paved the way and made a huge turning point in their respective comedy fields (Graham Chapman for surreal comedy ; Dave Allen for stand up comedy)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus plus ofc said comedians were smokers (Graham was a pipe smoker ; Dave was a cigarette smoker) and were both alcoholics (tho Graham & Dave did become sober later on in their lives)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yes, this is why I’d ship Tom Fisher/Gray and Aidan Gillen/Dave together <33
Hope you enjoyed this ramble folks!

John Knefel at MMFA:
Right-wing media figures responded to Vice President Kamala Harris choosing Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate by launching desperate, bigoted attacks on him.  As governor, Walz has pursued a robust pro-worker and pro-child agenda, two public policy areas where conservatives have attempted to make superficial inroads. While some conservative pundits attempted to level attacks on Walz for his progressive record as governor, many of their initial reactions to the news have been strange, bizarre, and — some might even say — weird. Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro mocked Walz’s appearance on X (formerly Twitter), comparing him to Matt Foley, a fictional character played by the late (and beloved) Chris Farley.
[...]
Right-wing commentator and failed anti-trans Republican politician Robby Starbuck’s approach was uglier. After referencing comments Walz made that were sympathetic to Black Lives Matter — highlighted by far-right account End Wokeness — Starbuck wrote that “Kamala/Waltz is the DEI Presidential ticket.” (Attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs are a common and racist trope among right-wing media figures.) [...]
One of Walz’s signature achievements as governor was signing legislation that provided every child at public and charter schools in the state with free lunch. “We will feed our children,” he said at the time, according to the Star Tribune.  “Truly radical” indeed.
MAGA influencers have nothing substantiative on Tim Walz to attack him with.
