The Blinker, a 1934 Harry Craddock concoction, is the perfect blance of sharp, sweet and suave, making it an excellent cocktail to toast the wonderful news that in less than three weeks, I will be with my girl in Aotearoa New Zealand! Happy Friday to all of you, too!
Ingredients (serves 1):
8 ice cubes
half a small, juicy pink grapefruit
60 millilitres/2 fluid ounces (4 tablespoons) good Single Malt Scotch Whisky
15 millilitres/1/2 fluid ounce (1 tablespoon) Grenadine 
3 fresh raspberries, to garnish (optional)
Spoon ice cubes in a shaker.
Squeeze the juice of the grapefruit halve, and add two tablespoons to the shaker.
Add Whisky and Grenadine, and close shaker tightly. Shake energetically until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Skewer raspberries on a cocktail pick, if desired, and garnish.
Enjoy Blinker immediately.

Peach Sunrise Mocktail
1 serving
This is a sweet and refreshing Mocktail. It looks as good as it tastes.
Ingredients
½ cup peach nectar or juice, chilled
½ cup lemon lime soda, chilled
1 tablespoon Grenadine
Ice
Directions:
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes – about 6 or so.
Pour the peach nectar and lemon lime soda into the glass.  Then put in the grenadine.  Serve and enjoy.
Serve to anyone not drinking alcoholic drinks like pregnant women, designated drivers or anyone not drinking for any reason. This is a great drink to serve at parties and gatherings.
Note:
Sweeten the drink to your taste.  If you want it tarter then add less Grenadine syrup or if you want it sweeter add more Grenadine

Clover Club !
Ingredients:
2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce raspberry syrup or grenadine syrup
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 egg white*
Garnish with fresh raspberries
Instructions:
Add the gin, raspberry syrup, lemon juice and egg white into a cocktail shaker without ice.
Shake for 15 seconds.
Add ice to the cocktail shaker, and shake it again for at least 30 seconds.
Strain the micture into a coupe glass
Garnish with fresh raspberries.

If you know me, you know I like a good cocktail, and I'm always keen to both discover classics and mix my own creations! Today's tipple, the Pink Lady, born during the Prohibition era and very popular in the Thirties, probably tastes better nowadays as the spirits are not bootleg (and the Grenadine is homemade!) Don't be fooled by the delicate pink hue and the delightful cloud-like foam topping it, this Lady packs a punch; just how I like them! Happy Friday!
Ingredients (serves 1):
45 millilitres/1 1/2 ounce (3 tablespoons) London Dry Gin
15 millilitres/1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) applejack
a small, ripe lemon
7.5 millilitres/1/4 ounce (1/2 tablespoon) Grenadine 
1 egg white
8 to 10 ice cubes
Pour London Dry Gin and applejack in a shaker.
Thoroughly squeeze the juice of the lemon, and pour one and a half tablespoon of the lemon juice into the shaker.
Add Grenadine and the egg white, close the shaker tightly, and dry shake (without the ice) energetically.
Add the ice cubes to the shaker, close tightly, and shake vigorously once more, until well-chilled.
Strain into a chilled coupe glass.
Enjoy Pink Lady immediately! Cheers!

ingredients
limeade or lemonade
food coloring (optional)
pineapple juice
sparkling water
plastic syringe (i got my wisdom teeth out a little bit ago and still had the one they gave me to irrigate the removal sites, so i had one on hand)
ice
steps:
fill glass with ice. fill 70-80% full with pineapple juice (i just used the liquid in a can of pineapple). top off with sparkling water, leaving some space at the top.
in a little bowl, mix lime/lemonade with food coloring, if using (i used 1 drop green, 1 drop blue). draw fluid up syringe and fill completely. put in glass or lay it across the top. drink cold! :)
