Cilantro LIME Turkey Burgers, Oh My!
You’re welcome! I’m not going to make you read a lengthy blah-blah blog about turkey’s and their meat and why ground turkey is a great protein that can often be dry. Nope. Instead I will just say this recipe is fabulous, flavorful and MOIST, not dry. The grated zucchini really does the trick and you don’t even know it’s there. It just quietly does it’s job. (Thank you, zucchini.) If you’re in…

Do you have some nice burger recipes please ?
Unfortunately, I do not have a grill so when it comes to burgers I'm hamstrung---they just don't taste the same when baked or pan-fried. After multiple attempts at using fancy toppings to try and hide this fact, I have given up.
I do have a solid recipe for turkey burgers though! You can sear them in a pan and then bake, and they don't seem to lose too much in terms of juicy umami flavor. This recipe from the NYT, featuring grated onion and Worcestershire sauce, is my go-to; I usually throw in some parsley, cumin, and even garlic powder or paprika to give it more flavor. Sear on the stovetop, then transfer to a lined and rimmed baking sheet in the oven.
(I'd also recommend using something slightly fattier than the leanest ground turkey available---I like an 85% if I'm going to make burgers with it.)
If you're specifically craving the taste of beef burgers, I'm a big fan of making "burger" filling and then stuffing it into dinner rolls (as a sort of Americanized bierock), empanadas, or egg rolls. This sort of filling is ludicrously easy---a pound of beef, browned together with a finely-chopped white onion; a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and then dill pickle relish, garlic powder, and salt to taste. You can even add in your favorite cheese and condiments before stuffing into the carb of your choice.
If after all this, you're still craving a burger, a real burger, and nothing else will do....
Ground chuck ideally, though you can do a 70-80% lean ground beef too. Packet of dry onion soup mix. Combine well, using your hands or a sturdy spoon; crack an egg over the mixture and continue to mix. Refrigerate for at least half an hour before shaping into patties. Pan-sear and then bake, or grill to desired doneness. Toppings to preference.
.....I know, I know, it seems way too simple. But it's hands-down the best burger you'll make in a home kitchen, so let the nice food scientists at Knorr be your guide.

What sort of tomato sauce? I also made tacos tonight and i made rice as a side but i added canned whole tomatos to see what would happen but i shouldve added them way earlier cause they didnt break down how i wanted :<
Anyways taco night solidarity forever 🌮🌮🌮
Tomato Sauce a la Work Day (made roughly a week or so ago)
olive oil,
herbs/spices(dried): garlic powder, onion, pepper, parsley, rosemary, thyme, chili flakes(lots), oregano, basil, fennel, Salt&pepper .no measurements just vibes.
a diced onion
a few cloves garlic
2 cans diced tomatoes, (or whole. Can't remember.)
1 can (small) tomato sauce
a splash (big) of red wine.(cabernet) (from the little plastic bottles)
Basically everything but tomato paste. Didn't add bc my can opener decided to retire. Sauce came out a lot thinner than I wanted it to. Still really nice tho.
(Tonight) I cooked up some ground beef with the above spice blend. but with way more fennel. It bulked up the sauce nicely! It came out gr8!
Served over whole wheat spaghetti. (Cancels pit red meat agskfkslkfldls)
