It’s actually really funny that Jae-ha (25) considers Hak to be the ‘other adult’ in their group, when Hak is literally 18 years old

Okay, so I don’t watch Hazbin Hotel (if I wrote it wrong, sorry) but for like weeks, the only thing I see in the asexual tag is people complaining about allos shipping ace characters in a very allo way, and it’s been annoying me to no end, because while we do have to be upset about that, the ace tag should also function in a way for us to share jokes, have fun and enjoy our identity without having to fight for our right to exist.
So I propose we do something different. Let’s annoy the aphobes. I propose that from now on, every character becomes ace/aro/aroace. No more shipping fanfics, just platonic relationships and friendships. Every fanart is now SFW and has the ace/aro/aroace flags colors.
I DEMAND A REVOLUTION!!!!
Tell me the characters you’re claiming!
My ace claimings are:
1-Luffy (any pairing with him just gives me nausea)
2-Zoro (fuck zosan, he prefers swords over anything except maybe luffy, who he has a squish on)
3-Bakugou Katsuki (I love that kid, I’m making him one of my own)
4-Sasuke (I hate that guy, but he rejected both Sakura and Naruto, that kid’s definitely aroace)
5-Yor (my queen mama prefers killing over kissing, that should be an obvious sign)
6-Yona (no one’s touching my queen, she never liked Soo-won nor Hak, it was all social pressure to not end up alone, fight me)
7-Xie Lian (I don’t like the idea of anyone touching the god I worship, so that means he’s ace now)
8-Kageyama (idk why, he just has a vibe)
9-Handa from Barakamon (I don’t think this needs explanation)
10-Fushiguro Megumi (I like him, he’s one of my own now)
11-Maomao (she prefers venoms over sex)
12-Mash from Mashle (like, look at him, that guy just wants to exercise, eat and be with his family)
13-Violet Evergarden (I don’t think I need to explain this, this girl dedicated her entire life to understanding romance as it made no sense to her, aroace queen)
14-Sokka (he’s too smart to like sex)
15-Zuko (he’s an angel, angels don’t have sex)
16-Magnus Chase AND Alex Fierro (they’re my babies, I identify too much with them, the idea of them having sex gives me the ickies)
17-Jude from the Cruel Prince (I liked her better before she fell for that stupid fairy)
18-Edmund from Narnia (he was my childhood crush, I’m making him ace)
19-Annabeth Chase (she’s too perfect to have sex)
20-Alec Lightwood (I just like imagining Magnus loosing his shit every once in a while because of it)
21-Leo Valdez (bc why not?)
22-Blue Sargent and half the women she lives with (no explanation needed)
23-Dick Gansey the Third (he prefers dead kings over sex)
24-Katniss Everdeen (if you disagree, what is wrong with you?)
25-Castiel (fuck destiel shippers, angels don’t have sex)
26-Felicity from Arrow (haven’t finished the series but as far as I know, she’s too cool for sex)
27-Barbie (she’s a doll, she has no reproductive organs, she can’t feel desire)
I could probably pick more characters but I think this is enough for now, have fun annoying the aphobes!

Hey! I love ur writing so much 🥹 can i request 2+15+33 from the prompt that you post for the other members? This one is for hak tho hehehehe and if you could also add enemies to lovers trope cause im a sucker for them 😩😩 tysm in advance 🥰🥰
(I know this leans towards the enemies portion but trust me there's a hint of lovers somewhere jkasndajs I had fun writing this one since it's my 1st Maverick au! hehe)
Whatever You Say
Member: Ju Hakyneon (Maverick au!)
Prompts: 2. “I’m not sharing you with anybody. You’re mine, and mine only, and I’m going to make you remember that.”, 15. “Mine. All mine.”, & “33 “Beg and maybe I’ll think about it.”
Warnings: Smut (18+, minors DNI), cnc (coercion), rough sex (+ unprotected), choking, spit used as lube, hair pulling, fingering, pussy slapping, pet names used (sweetheart, good girl), mentions of blood, death, killing, and sharp objects.
Extra content warning: ⚠️ this fic contains a cnc kink (aka coercion) but please know that consent is key ALWAYS. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
A/N: In this scenario, Hakyneon wins in Maverick (sorry Eric 😭)
‧⋆ ✧˚₊‧⋆. ✧˚₊‧⋆‧‧⋆ ✧˚₊‧⋆. ✧˚₊‧⋆‧‧⋆ ✧˚₊‧⋆.
When you said you were going to kill Haknyeon one day, you never thought you’d have to… literally. Especially now when you’re forced to do it in order to survive.
“Lee Juyeon & Lee Hyunjae, eliminated. Only three students remaining: Sohn Eric, Ju Haknyeon, and L/N Y/N.” The PA system echoes through the empty halls of the school.
“Shit…” you muttered under your breath.
You should’ve followed your gut and rejected this offer the moment those suspicious people in black entered your classroom that one fateful day, claiming that this “special program” would set you up for a life of success if you win the game.
From seeing some of your classmates faces almost everyday since you were a kid to watching them die at the hands of one another. Yeah, it’s pretty fucked up. Honestly you still wonder how you managed to make it to the final three without getting caught.
As you slowly walk down the empty halls you once knew, tightening the hold you have on your spiked bat, your body is suddenly pushed and tackled down into the floor of the open classroom nearby.
A pair of thighs pinning your waist down to the cold cement floor as you struggle to grab your weapon to defend yourself. Your heart starts to pound the moment you hear the voice of body caging you speak,
“Never thought I'd live to see the day… Y/n lying so beautifully under me.” Haknyeon’s cocky smile burning right through you.
“Fuck you, get off me!” you spit back.
“No need to be mean sweetheart.” He caresses your lips with his thumb. “C’mon, I wanna enjoy this before it ends.” His thumb shoving into your mouth, the warm contact of your saliva making his crotch twitch. Haknyeon leans forward, the tip of his nose brushing against yours.
“I’m not sharing you with anybody. You’re mine, and mine only, and I’m going to make you remember that.” His eyes consumed with a kind of darkness you weren’t able to read.
“Any last words sweetheart?” he pulls away from you, gently pressing the sharp end of his bloody pencil at your throat.
How he managed to use a regular pencil as a weapon was beyond you, the same one that eliminated Younghoon hours prior.
You stare into his eyes, remembering this was the final image you’d have before your life was taken from you. “No last words? Alright, suit yourself.” He shrugs.
You quickly shut your eyes as Haknyeon raises his hand to strike your throat. But instead of feeling a sharp pain pierce through your skin, you heard the sound of the necklace chained to your throat buzz and malfunction.
When you slowly open one of your eyes to see what had happened, the pencil Haknyeon had used broke the necklace. He pulled the device apart and threw it across the room.
“L/N, Y/N eliminated. Two students remaining…” the PA system announces a few seconds later.
You look back up at Haknyeon in confusion…. Did he just save your life? Before you’re even able to speak, Haknyeon interrupts you.
“The system thinks you’re dead. I figured it out. Those idiots in black overlooked that issue.”
“I- I don’t understand…” you stutter.
“I can get you out of here alive… As much as I hate you, I dont think I can bare to see another person I know die.”
Silence falls between the two of you, your eyebrows still scrunched together as you still try to grasp the situation.
“Unless… you really want me to kill you?” Haknyeon utters as he raises his hand to your neck, firmly grasping it until you’re slightly gasping for air. In a scenario like this, you’re supposed to be scared for dear life. But instead, you feel the front of your panties getting soaked.
“Hak… please…”
“Hmmm…Beg and maybe I'll think about it.” He responds.
“Please Hak, I’ll do whatever you say. Just let me go!” you plead. Hakyneon smirks back at you with so many thoughts running in his mind.
“Alright…” He pauses for a moment.
“Turn around and bend over.”
“W-what?” your eyes widen, unsure of what he’ll do to you.
“Bend. Over.” His hand grips your neck a little tighter, signaling you to just do as you’re told. No questions asked.
Haknyeon adjusts himself off as you flip around to get on your knees and elbows. You feel the cold air hit your sensitive skin as you stick your ass up towards him.
You feel his warm hands suddenly gripping your waist, his erection press against your core. His hand snakes under your skirt, stroking your covered clit in circles. You bite your lip, trying to hold yourself back from moaning at his touch.
Haknyeon groans as he feels your soaked panties. “You’re pretty wet for someone who hates my guts, don’t you think?” he smirks.
You feel a slap on your sensitive bud then his full hand gripping your mound. His other hand reaching to grab your hair, pulling him closer to whisper in your ear,
“Mine. All mine.” he growls.
He lets go of your hair and unzips his pants, lowering them along with his boxers enough to free his aching cock. His other hand flips your skirt up, pulling your panties to the side enough to expose your wet cunt.
His rough fingertips glide through your folds, making you whimper from the friction. Before aligning the tip of his cock at your entrance, he aggressively spits onto your hole. Your breath hitches from the warmth of his saliva hitting you.
Honestly he didn't even have to spit on your cunt, it was incredibly soaked with your juices. He was just in the heat of the moment, feeling the adrenaline rushing through his veins. The thought of defiling you in some sort of way turns him on even more.
Without warning, he pushes his whole length into you. He hisses at the tightness clenching onto this member as you gasp from how quick your walls were being stretched out.
Haknyeon wastes no time and starts thrusting in and out of you, groaning at the sounds of both your skin slapping against each other and your wet pussy squelching.
He increases his pace, his fingers digging into your hips as you try to muffle your wanton moans (in case Eric finds where you two are.)
You beg Haknyeon to fuck you deeper as he hits your gummy spot inside, feeling the coil inside you tighten the more his tip nudges the spot.
“Good fucking girl…” his praise slurring as he also begins to feel his high approaching. The nickname is enough to send you over the edge as your walls tightly clench his cock and gush all your hot fluids onto him. Trying to muffle out your moan as much as you could.
“Ff-fucckkk” Hakyneon groans and without warning (again), his cum bursts inside you, filling you up to the brim. His white fluid gushing out of your tight hole as he pulls his cock out.
He quickly pulls his pants up as your body plops to the ground, trying to catch your breath. Before he gets up, he slips a paper in your hand. When you open the folded paper, you see it’s a drawn map telling you where to exit.
As you look up you see Hakyneon walking towards the door, picking up your bat in the process. Before closing the door he looks over his shoulder, scanning your body from head to toe with a cocky smirk,
“See you on the outside sweetheart.”

For the ship ask, can I ask : Sokka/Toph, Yona/Suwon, Gon/ Killua?
Oooh of course, these are some fun pairings!
Sokka/Toph
Ship it
I think this is a cute pairing! I definitely think they are the closest to each other out of everyone, they have really good heart to hearts and rely on each other in a unique way, especially in Season 3 is where they really shine.
I think both of them have such a genuine and silly friendship/dynamic that makes them appealing! I also think both can sometimes be a little emotionally closed off so it's nice to see them really open up to each other about hard topics and share their vulnerabilities.
Hmm I have no idea if this is a popular or unpopular headcanon or not but I kinda view Toph (aged up) as aromantic, where even in this dynamic she really appreciates Sokka! But she doesn't know where to draw the line between a friend and a partner.
Yona/Suwon
Don't Ship It
They're cousins 😭😭😭 Don't get me wrong, LOVE both characters and their dynamic, both are fascinating characters that hold a lot of love towards each other but also pain and guilt, but them being related puts a full stop towards this ship for me. Also even though I am usually a pretty big multishipper, Yona/Hak are just it for me and Suwon gives me aro/ace vibes as well
Not to keep hammering this point home, but not being related would certainly help 💀 And I know Yona has a crush on him at the beginning of the series, but she grows SO much as a person that I think her love for Suwon just fundamentally changes with that growth too? So even with not being related, I think the two of them have grown and matured in such a way where it isn't feasible to me.
Hmm the angst potential is so great for them, I think they are both such interesting characters that have such a troubled past that they have to navigate, but they also clearly love each other SO much, it wouldn't of hurt so bad if that love was any less. I think just every duo within the Hak/Yona/Suwon trio have such a unique relationship it's unlike anything else.
Gon/Killua
Ship It
UGH they're cute throughout the entire series but the moment where Killua is just looking at Gon with such awe and says "Gon, you are light" wowwowwow that moment changed my life and made it go from cute childhood friends to like true soulmates.
Oh I just love how Killua becomes more human and kind and just gets to be a normal kid for the first time because Gon gives him the opportunity. And later when Killua takes everything he's learned to try and save Gon when he starts losing his humanity? They really do it all where you have the cute fluffy childhood friends side to just the angst filled devastation that happens at the end of the chimera ant/election arc.
Ohh I'm probably not involved enough to know truly what the hot take of Gon/Killua are, but it really annoys me when I see hxh fans say shipping them is weird? I promise you gay people can know that they're gay before the age of 18 lmaaaaoooo, I had my first gay crush at like the same age.

Intro to Part 1:
In Seoul, South Korea, in 1954, Sun Myung Moon founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, a new religious institution that would quickly become known as the Unification Church, and one of the biggest cults in modern history. Adherents would come to be known as "Moonies," following the controlling teachings a man who considered himself a new Jesus. Sexual rituals, physical and psychological abuse, financial corruption, and so much more follow in this real life soap opera of a story.
Intro to Part 2:
Today we conclude yesterday's wild exploration of the cult Sun Myung Moon founded in Seoul, South Korea, in 1954. Moon's corruption and insanity finally begin to catch up with him before his death sends the empire he built into chaos. Also – Black Heung Jin may be the most entertaining character I've ever come across in any of these episodes. I wish we knew SO much more about his crazy ass. Hail Nimrod!

Comments:
I went to Bard College back in the late 70s, not far from the Barrytown Moonie compound. I have a zillion hysterical stories about the war between the Bardians and Moonies back then. Just recently, Bard bought their old compound… git even yet? lol
That's crazy I lived in the New Yorker dorm rooms my junior year of college. Shitty hotel.
I grew up near the Moonie mansion! They terrified me! They were everywhere always handing out flowers. They were so weird and spacey! My mother told me they were brainwashed, at a little kid I thought it was a literal thing, which was super creepy to me!
I was actually approached by a Moonie when I was in college in little Erie, Pennsylvania back in 1984 or 85. They gave me the song and dance first of a friendly group who got together a couple times a week and I should come and see what I thought. I can't remember what I thought of the idea, but at the end they asked what I thought of Rev. Sun Myung Moon and I said "Not much". Our little talk ended quickly. I have always been glad I knew enough or was just lucky enough not get pulled into that cult. I was young, innocent and questioning religion enough that it could have happened. That terrifies me, even more after this episode. Thanks as always Suckmaster. Never thought I'd actually have a personal experience with anything to do with a Timesuck topic.

Yona of the Dawn OC
Name: Ivy
They/Them or She/Her
Age: 18
Background: Ivy is the adopted daughter of Lee Geun-Tae, the general of the Earth clan.
She was taken is when she was 4 and has fallen to the part as the future leader of the clan.
Until that happens she goes on adventures to prove to her father that she can and will the next in line for the title general.
Likes: Birds, Myths, Art, Dusk and Dawn, Music, Long walks, Friends that she holds dear to her.
Dislikes: Corruption, tyrants, Hypocrites, Lies, Too much power.
#1 Fun Fact: Her father, Lee Geun-Tae found her in a village on fire, her blood father was a very close friend to him, so to honor him he took care of his daughter. But as time went on Ivy started to look at Lee Geun-Tae as a father figure. Lee Geun-Tae didn’t know how to say to a child that he is not their father and their blood father died, so he didn’t really except it, but he didn’t deny it. Lee Geun-Tae wife, Yun-Ho, always had the thought of having a daughter so she loved her.
When Talugu came, Lee Geun-Tae completely ignored Ivy. She was so upset that she took what she needed and ran away. Lee Geun-Tae and his wife both noticed and sent out a search for her, but there was no luck.
Friends: Hak, Soo-Won * and a couple of more characters that I have not made yet *
#2 Fun Fact: When Ivy was little the 5 generals of the Kouka Kingdom they also had to take their kids to met each other and the place that they were protecting,
Sense Ivys father didn’t really think of her as his own. She had a wait outside the palace. Out there was also Hak, and ever since then they hanged out with each other when they get the chance. Ivy did met Kan Kyo-Ga but she really hates him, he was so weird. Not in a “ nobody gets me “ why, he was weird in a pervert way.
✨ I’m still kinda working on her story lol ✨

I just found your blog and I LOVE IT.
If I might ask: What’s your saddest dbd headcanons (killers or survivors)
Call me crazy, but I must know! ❤️
Ohh this one was a good one but it hurt me so badddd, ahhh. I’m glad to share , I have some bad dbd brain rot lmaooo I didn’t do every character so I hope these are ok 🥺 these are a bit long too
Sad Dead by Daylight Hcs
Claudette Morel:
Claudette is one of the criers. Probably cries while getting mori’d and can't help the tears during the really bad matches. Her pain tolerance isn’t very high, hence the willingness to waste time healing herself if it means she can stop being in so much pain.
Meg Thomas:
Spends time alone thinking about her past life. Her mother is a subject that makes her really frustrated. People mentioning their moms makes her a little standoffish. Wishes she had a chance to say goodbye in some way.
Ace Visconti:
Ace doesn't have much family to even miss him. He wonders if they noticed he’s gone or hasn’t come back. Maybe they think he hit big bucks and left them behind. Ace is stuck really. Even if he were to go back, he’d be dead or working off his debt.
Feng Min:
Gets super mad when she loses, it makes her so angry that she doesn’t control the trials. She blames other people for her losses but actually is very critical of herself. Casts the blame on others so she doesn't have to face her own mistakes.
David King:
All of his perks are about putting his ass on the line for his teammates yet everyone seems to think he’s selfish and a dumb brute. David doesn't know what to do to be more approachable; genuinely wants to be seen as a friend.
Laurie Strode:
Laurie never got the chance to mourn her friends. She thought she won. Finding out she’ll never truly escape Michael or be able to forget him makes her so mad. When she gets Michael in trials she makes sure the glass in her pocket is extra jagged and serrated.
Jane Romero:
Jane only wanted recognition and acknowledgement. Everything she's worked so hard for feels like a waste for her now. She should have spent more time on herself or with her father. Jane feels like she has no purpose anymore besides running and screaming for the enjoyment of the entity.
Yui Kimura:
Yui can’t stand the Clown or the Stealth Killers. Reminds her of bad memories. When she loses against killers like ghostface, she is especially angry. Her fighting spirit can’t help her actually get back at them.
Zarina Kassir:
Spent so much time fighting inequality only to spend the rest of her life where the odds are never in favor of the survivors. Where the oppressed are destined to lose. Each one of the people is subjugated, both killer and survivor and there's nothing she can do to free them.
Cheryl Mason:
She's been through literal hell and back just to end up in a weird recurring nightmare. At least Silent Hill had an escape. She's killed a god and somehow someone her size with a boxcutter can kill her? Huh.
Élodie Rakoto:
Feels guilty over the loss of her parents and feels extremely disillusioned by this realm. It's so much more boring than she thought it would be. All of her searching and traveling was not worth this shithole.
Steve Harrington:
Steve, though 18, is very much still a kid. Steve is naive about certain things and his optimism gets chipped away at a lot. Wasn’t too enthusiastic at having to care or look after Dustin and his friends but misses having people to protect.
Jeff Johannson:
Someone who definitely ends up taking hooks for people and ends up dying. Has a reputation among the killers as a survivor who is easy to leverage during the endgame because he will try for that save.
Kate Denson:
Feels very lucky to even have her guitar. The other survivors didn't get to bring many things with them. Makes her feel a little bad when she Often feels too worn out and exhausted by the trials to play it.
Quentin Smith:
Unfortunately stuck in pseudo-hell with his abuser. Gets really anxious against Freddy. Leans on his fellow survivors. Will sometimes accidentally bring Freddy to others in an attempt to get Freddy the hell away for him.
Evan ‘The Trapper’ Macmillan:
Actually has tried on numerous occasions to remove the metal rods and shrapnel embedded in his skin. It hurts like hell and just when he thinks he’s got it, he loses grip. These attempts never work.
Philip ‘The Wraith’ Ojomo:
When he’s alone, Philip will try and talk to himself. His vocal cords are warped, his voice a scratchy growl and garbled gurgle. He remembers what he used to sound like but he tries talking less and less.
Max ‘The Hillbilly’ Thompson Jr.:
Besides being named after someone who locked him away for most of his life? Max has to rest a lot between trials. The constant movement puts strain on him and causes him dull pain. His back causes him a lot of grief. The Entity is barely merciful.
Michael ‘The Shape’ Myers:
Meant to be forgotten by everyone who ever knew of him and he knows it. Loomis, after deciding that Michael couldn't be ‘fixed’ just hoped that the system would swallow him. If it weren't for the entity, Michael knows he'd either be dead or caught and back with Loomis.
Bubba ‘The Cannibal’ Sawyer:
Used to be one of the nicer killers to go against and might have been sweet to certain survivors who deserved kindness. But the Entity punished him for it. Bubba isn't very nice anymore. Probably a little meaner to avoid being in trouble again.
Amanda ‘The Pig’ Young:
Another one down to give second chances, much like the second chance she saw in John Kramer. Doesn’t do this a lot however, therefore escaping the ire of the Entity. She’s spent a lifetime hurting others emotionally and physically. Now, she’ll spend an eternity.
Rin ‘The Spirit’ Yamaoka:
The pain and anguish is so heavy but time is no cure in a place where time is nonexistent. No happiness to replace her rage. Especially in a place where her anger is a weapon for a greater power. Also has tried to pull the glass out of her skin and press her limbs back together. Can’t stand to see herself in the mirror.
Adiris ‘The Plague’:
Her body is always on the precipice of falling apart. Her skin rots; her flesh aches and feels like it will tear away at any moment. She is immortalized yet so close to death. Her body hurts so much but she has a purpose to serve. (makes me even sadder bc jannneeeee my mainnnnn😔)
Kazan ‘The Oni’ Yamaoka:
Misses his son. Never got to see him grow up, considering he;s already met his descendant. Proud from a distance because that's all he can be. The beginning of something so angry that it passes down his family line.
Caleb ‘The Deathslinger’ Quinn
During his life, was under the control of people who made him work for their gain who used him. The Entity emphasizes the killers as a position of power but Caleb does much of the same here. Works and works. Never for himself.
Pyramid Head ‘The Executioner’:
His existence has always included pain. He’s not quite sure what it’s like without it. He’s made several efforts to take the pyramid off. It pulls painfully at his neck. Makes awful groaning noises and roars.
Ji-Woon ‘The Trickster’ Hak:
Has never been much more than entertainment for other people since he was a child. Never expected to be much more. To the point that now, if he doesn't feel impressive in some way, he feels incomplete. The entity is his way to really indulge his ‘true artistry’.
Yun-Jin Lee:
A bit selfish when it comes to surviving. A few people around the campfire dont like her for that reason. Some of the meaner people will even leave her behind because they remember all of the times Yun-Jin might have done something similar.
Thanks for reading!!! I’m sorry I don’t post often but I have Shit ton of hw and I recently started a new project sooo ya know 💖💖💖

🎄Day 24 of the Christmas project🎄
Tumblr media
a/n : @atbzkingdom requested something like this on my other blog, but since i stopped my other project, i decided not to let it go to waste and do it here! hope you’ll enjoy it dee, even if it’s late 💕
__
Pushing open the front door of your friend's house, you were greeted with loud voices and laughter. The noise died down as you closed the door behind you, placing two bags from the caterer on the floor. Suitcases and jackets were scattered around the hall, making you softly laugh at their excitement for Christmas despite their adulthood. Taking off your jacket, you felt a cold draught tickling your back as the front door swung open again. Sangyeon gave you a warm smile, shutting the door with one hand as the other held two bottles of champagne.
"I wanted to pick you up on the way, but you were faster than I expected," he said, and you smiled, waving your hand in front of your face with a smile. "Don't worry, it wasn't a long journey anyway," you replied, taking the bottles from his hand to let him take off his jacket as well. A sudden agitation in the kitchen made Sangyeon hurry up, as he motioned for you to come with him before grabbing the two bags you had brought. "What the hell are you all doing?" You raised the tone so that your voice took over the heckling, your friends' heads immediately turning to you. “Nothing, hi Y/N!" Changmin came over to you, and you smiled, handing him the two bottles you had in your hand. He took them and opened the kitchen patio door, placing the bottles in the snow. You arched a dubious eyebrow at Sangyeon, but he shook his head, assuring you that it was fine. You shrugged your shoulders and washed your hands, ready to get to work.
Cooking with ten other people in the kitchen was a fiasco, so you got out of the kitchen all the people who were having fun stealing food, despite the many slaps you had given your hands on your friends' hands.
“Come on, hop it! You will have plenty of time to eat tonight! Now go have fun somewhere else!" You kicked them out while laughing, the boys rushing out of the kitchen one by one. There was only Sangyeon, Haknyeon, Jacob and you, the three calmest members when it came to cooking. You smiled at them before sighing, earning a smirk from the oldest ones who were busy peeling the vegetables. Haknyeon, on the other hand, had his eyes riveted on the meat that was cooking in the pan, stirring it every now and then so that the pieces couldn't stick to the bottom.
The other boys, who were now in the living room, seemed to have calmed down a bit, but you had a feeling deep inside you that it was only temporary. They were sometimes excitable and full of energy, and it was even worse since it was finally Christmas. But today, it seemed like there was particular energy running through their veins. Some kind of intensity and adrenaline that you couldn't find the source of. No matter how much you turned your head all over the place, you couldn't know why they looked so pumped up for the end of year celebrations.
A cry, a thud, and the sound of broken glass came simultaneously from the living room. You frowned and looked up at Haknyeon, who was also frowning. Lowering your knife, you grabbed a cloth to dry your hands and walked towards the living room. Hands resting on your hips, you looked at each of the boys in front of you by turns, waiting to get an explanation of what was going on. "Kevin broke a bauble from the Christmas tree," Eric blamed his friend, who gasped, an expression of betrayal painted on his face. "What a liar! He did it!" Kevin retorted, pointing his finger at the youngest, the others holding back from laughing at their bickering while you picked up the detritus. “Well, it doesn't matter who the culprit is. I'm going to go ask Haknyeon if he doesn't have some replacement baubles," you said, turning around to head back to the kitchen, the residue of the Christmas decoration in your palm. "Haknyeon?!" Changmin called out from the living room, hearing the former move around the kitchen.
You hardly paid attention to the giggles behind your back, thinking that it was the aftermath of doing something silly. Lifting your head from your hand, you slightly frowned as you saw Sangyeon with his phone in hand, the camera pointed in your direction. You were about to move to the side to let Haknyeon pass, but you almost had a stroke as your friends started clapping, screaming right behind you. Haknyeon also flinched, surprised by the suddenness of the noise.
"Do you want to kill me or what?" You said with one hand on your chest, trying to calm the rapid pounding in your rib cage. A hand gently pushed you forward, closer to the door frame. "Lift your head, Y/N," Jacob said, leaning against the counter with a smile, his arms folded across his chest. With Haknyeon, you looked up at the same time, your eyes widening at what was above you two. He huffed, his tongue poking his cheek as he looked at his friends with an expression of exasperation. You pursed your lips and lowered your head to the ground at the sight of the branch of mistletoe hanging above your heads, secretly laughing at the situation. "Is that why you were bawling like animals when I arrived?" You asked, breaking the silence. You earned the laughter of all your friends, including Haknyeon, who looked quite embarrassed. "Yeah, we were avoiding each other at all costs in order not to kiss, it would have ruined our plan," Kevin explained, and you shook your head with a sigh, feeling helpless at their silliness. However, you laughed too because you weren't disappointed to find yourself in this situation with your friend. "Do you want to do it?" Haknyeon whispered while shyly looking at you, his hands joined behind his back, his eyes twisting into annoyance as his friends behind you started to coo.
Having nothing to lose, you took hold of his arms before cupping his cheek and pressed your lips on his in a vivid kiss, Haknyeon clumsily closing his arms around you, surprised at how quickly of your gesture. You smiled into the kiss as the people around you cheered, continuing to move your mouth against Haknyeon's to lengthen your feverish exchange, his hands on your hips pulling you closer to him. Once you ended the kiss, everyone clapped along with a few whistles, but that acted just as background noise for the two of you. You were in your bubble, foreheads pressed against each other, enjoying this magical moment that you had experienced together. You let out an embarrassed chuckle and so did Haknyeon, kissing you one last time before hugging you, making you hide your face in his neck. He rubbed your back with a reassuring hand, and you could feel him laughing, the vibrations you felt against his chest forcing a smile onto your face.
"I don't mean to brag but," Haknyeon started, and you pulled your face out of its nest, his arm still around your figure, "I got my Christmas kiss and no one else did," you laughed with the rest of the group before kissing him on the cheek, her cheeks tingling a delicious pink. "Stop showing off, Hak," Chanhee pouted and teased by some of the boys around him, his demeanour making you gently smile. “Be careful, next year at Christmas. We're going to wait for a chance to catch you out," you kidded with a smirk on your lips, "revenge is a dish best savoured cold," you grinned before stepping into the kitchen, Haknyeon at your heels.
Once the happiness subsided, you and Haknyeon headed back to the kitchen with a smile on your faces. Your hands were touching, brushing against each other, which made you inwardly smile. He circled your waist whenever he wanted to get you to move and grab a few things from a drawer. His expressions of affection didn't help calm your little heartbeat at all. It's with a loving mind and heart that you finish preparing the meal, enjoying the evening as a little couple despite the teasing from all your friends.

Structure and Theme in Answer Me 1997
ok this is my third day posting about this (the arm thing) in a row BUT i think one of the things Reply 1997 does really well is have its reveals actually make the show better on a rewatch (as opposed to shows where knowing the “twists” ruins the fun).
Answer Me 1997 has this framing device of the reunion and the mystery of who’s the husband, but it doesn’t actually invest super hard in that question. Unlike the other shows in the series, I don’t think it’s ever actually in question who the husband is, and by the end the “mystery” is played as a joke. The show subverts our mystery expectations by answering serious questions up front, while playing around with revealing smaller details throughout.
Who Shi Won will marry, and if the dad is going to die, are never really in question, putting the focus instead on how these events unfold.  We know the dad lives, but how does his family react to his illness? What effect does it have on them? These are powerful questions--I know those two episodes make me bawl like a baby despite knowing things would end happily.
Inversely, Answer Me 1997 likes to withhold information and create suspense over minor elements. Examples of this fill almost every episode, from the countdown in episode 2 culminating in the reveal of the origin of Shi Won and Yoon Jae’s fight (he accidentally grabbed her boobs), to the question of who sent Yoon Jae that song (and the reveal of Joon Hee’s crush), to the “mystery” of why Yoo Jung dumped Hak Chan this time. The show is constantly setting up mysteries/questions/gaps in the narrative and then revealing the answer with a flourish--the type of answer that makes everything in retrospect take on a new meaning.
Now to the arm thing! Episode 5 opens with Yoon Jae in the hospital with a broken arm. Unlike past episodes, what appears to be set up as the central question--what happened to his arm--is swept aside by the much bigger, scarier, question of Shi Won’s father’s cancer. We forget about the arm and/or accept that we don’t get to know. Then, in what I’ve said before is the perfect conclusion, in the last episode’s coda we see Shi Won scare Yoon Jae with a frog, leading to him on the ground howling “my arm!” We finally know what happened to break that arm--it was Shi Won all along (because of course it was). Back to the hospital episode, where Yoon Jae stays up all night gazing at a sleeping Shi Won, head pillowed on his cast. I’ve said before that having his arm--which she broke!--in the shot was a stroke of genius. For one thing, it’s comedy gold, but it also helps to establish his feelings for her as legitimate. Here he is, intimately aware of every one of her “flaws” (this is the same scene where he thinks she’s pretty even in her glasses, and let me reiterate. She broke. His ARM.) but it makes no difference to his feelings. This isn’t just a crush--it’s love.
But we don’t know all of this the first time we see this scene. His crush is just that--a crush. An 18 year old boy thinks a girl is pretty even with her glasses on, and considers that to be “deep.” It is only in retrospect, having watched through the last episode, that we see the truth.
And isn’t that what the whole show is about? It’s not a story about some kids in the 90s. It’s a show about remembering being kids in the 90s. That the show is constructed to reward you on the rewatch is beautifully in keeping with the theme. A show about going back a second time and seeing different things, finding meaning in places you missed it, and understanding more than you did the first time around.

What if the Dragon warriors (except zeno) had a childhood friend they knew since they were little toddlers? Also how would they deal with leaving them to travel with yona and the gang?
okay here goes (also i added Hak because i misread the ask lol, hope thats okay, i got a bit carried away so ready your tissues
Hak-he had a childhood friend back in the wind tribe, but due to bad health she couldnt leave fuuga-when hak mysteriously shows up with a woman with red hair that has a dead look in her eyes, she knows somethings up-she looks a lot like the “ annoying red haired idiot princess” hak had told her about when he came to fuuga sometimes -she confronts hak about it-he trusts her and tells her what happened, and tells her hes leaving the next day-she wants to go with him-he wont let her because of her health-it breaks both of their hearts but it needs to be done-he promises to come back one day when thw whole thing blows over-days later, she gets the news that hak and yona are dead-shes goes into denial-he wouldnt break his promise to her-she tries to leave fuuga to go find him-“he cant be dead, hak’s to strong, im going to go find him and bring him back home”-obviously mundouk wont allow it-but she sneaks out anyway at night-she searches all night, but over exerts herself and starts to have difficulty breathing-she eventually gets to the cliff where hak supposedly “died”-she sees all the blood splatter in the dirt-she finally accepts the fact that he’s really gone-just as she’s about to go back, her blood pressure drops suddenly and she collapses-as she was standing next to the edge, she falls over-‘oh well, at least ill see hak again soon’ is her last thought-hak finds her body the next day, when he goes to find his spear
Kija-his childhood friend is super excited for him-“kija this is what you’ve wanted all your life!!”-she makes him promise to come back one day and tell her all about it-hes reluctant to leave her behind-she would totally go with him but…-her father wont let her-“no way am i letting my precious little girl go prancing of with a group of strange men, no offence to the princess”-kija finally leaves, after hugging his childhood friend one last time
Sinha-for all 18 years of his life, sinha has only had 3 friends, Ao, ao, and the nameless girl who befriended him-like the seiryuu, the girl was abandoned by her parents due to a deformity in her leg, making it impossible for her to walk without an aid. she was never given a name.-her parents left her with the village elders, who gave her to Ao, because “he should take care of all the monsters”-Ao acts like he hates kids, but hes just a closet dad-Ao raises both of them-sinha and the nameless girl grow closer after Ao’s death-she was never afraid of him, and would protect him from the villager’s cruel words.-when sinha decided to leave with yona, he wanted to take his friend with him, but he knew it was impossible-she knew it too, her crooked leg wasnt made for traveling-“its okay seiryuu, ill keep your room warm for you and wheb you come back we can play again ^-^” -she watched as he left with his master, then hobbled back to her cave
jaeha-after he had been in awa for a few weeks as a member of gigang’s pirate crew, he had his first experience in a brothel-he was too young at the time to realize what it was, he just ran into the nearest shop to avoid some officers-“arent you a bit young to be her little man?” a woman, who was clearly in charge, asked-this boy blushed so hard once he realized what that place was-he didnt know where to put his eyes-finally they settled on a young girl who was peeking through a curtain in the back to look at him-she smiled shyly and waved at him-“Hey! whered that music girl go?!?” someone drunkedly yelled from the back.-“Jun are you slacking off again?!?!” the woman in charge yelled back-“n-no ma'am” the girl who had waved jumped and quickly ran back inside the curtain-jaeha took the opportunity to leave that place-but he was curious about that girl-he stayed on the roof of a nearby building all day until finally, around midnight, he saw the shy girl leave-he followed her to the harbor where she sat down and watched the water.-finally he approached her and they talked for awhile-they became good friends almost instantly-she explained that she was the older sister to two little siblings, one of them had weak lungs, that she only took the job at the brothel because their parents had passed away and she had to provide for them.– a few months later Jeaha eventually convinced Jun to quit working at the brothel, and instead joined the pirates, the crew saw her as a little sister and happily provided her and her siblings with plently of food-years passed and Jun grew out of her shyness and became a rowdy pirate, she could hold her own against any of the men.-when yona came to awa and helped them save the town, Jun knew that Jaeha would be leaving with her-jaeha didnt want to leave her there, but she refused to leave with him, as she still had her siblings to care for.-he swore to come back, and take her away with him when her siblings werw well off and could care for themselves-when eventually jeaha left with yona, Jun kept a atong face, but when they were out of sight, she broke down
(A/N well, i made myself cry, i got a bit carried away with a few of those, but i couldnt think of much for kija’s sorry, might turn that last one into a full blown fic)

Drama Review: While You Were Sleeping Episode 11-20
Alright!. Okay, I’m very pleased to see the plot of the drama developing very well and slowly branching out into a bigger picture overall. You can expect more cases popping up for Prosecutor Jung to work on, which is SO good to see him actually work on it, sort of turning it into a crime drama, a developing & adapting relationship between Jae Chan and Hong Joo, and even more dreams to connect the plotline too. Also, a sudden mysterious element is thrown into the plot, sort of throwing what we knew in the past ten episodes off. This makes the story become more intense and exciting. The plot is increasing in intensity, and complexity as the plot unfolds for the viewers. Throughout episodes 11-20, the plot goes upwards, although I’d have to point somewhere across episode 11-12 the storyline did dip a bit for me. But it wasn’t really that obvious, so not really a problem. The overall plot of ten episodes was unfolding rapidly, but new elements are also added as quick. The moment one mystery is solved, another is quickly surfaced.
Another important thing I’d like to touch on is how GOOD the writers are at working together on the subplot and current plot. As the subplot (the plot where Jae Chan and Hong Joo are kids) continues, the current existing plot is also following up. They match each other really good, and are parallel to each other. There’s no piece out of place, and the ongoing puzzle develops nicely. They’re doing a really good job at an intricate plot, having the subplot’s flashback in the middle of the episode, so it sorts of makes a bridge to connect the pieces together. The pieces of the puzzle are getting a little bit smaller, detailed and needs a really good eye to try and connect them to the previous clues given. It’s starting to make viewers into detectives, and this cat and mouse chase is exciting! A plot that really gives you something to think about. Each episode gives away just enough to make you want to watch the next episode, and that is truly the mark of an excellent drama. I really, really hope this continues till the finale.  It’s exciting to see how the writers will be able to pull this one off, by the end of the 32nd episode. Will the loop start, and end at the same point? Or will it be a hanging plot? We’ll have to see.
A lot of major plot twists and turns are added into the story, making the story more  complicated as it goes. Some events are major enough to turn the story a complete 360, some twists are just enough to change the dream or event. I liked how they made the mix just nice, not every change has to be big. But they focused a lot on the small details, and that’s what makes it really good. Like the details in the dream, the small details in a case Jae Chan works on. The smaller things contributed a lot to the overall plotline, and I love when a drama hits the details good.
Throughout the entire 10 episodes, new dreams are introduced into the plot line. As Hong Joo continued her work as a reporter at SBC, they’re open to a lot more dangers and conflict. Jae Chan is also working on two cases in a span of 10 episodes. The first case only lasted around 2 episodes, it was Kang Dae Hee’s case where Lee Yu Beom became his lawyer. Also, I have to give credit to Lee Yu Beom as a lawyer. He is honestly  amazing in his field of work, although he does have to fight against the law and defend the bad guys. He manages to switch the smallest details and make the chances for him to win even bigger. He is an excellent lawyer, and I clearly understand why the prosecutors are afraid to go up against him in any trial. He really impressed me during the Dae Hee trial in court. He’s an asshole, but he’s a good lawyer.
The second case is spread out more across 5 or so episodes involving Do Hak Kyung. This case was tricky for Jae Chan to work on. Hak Kyung was Woo Tak’s friend. In this case also, we get to know that Woo Tak is actually hiding a deep secret from the police and from them. It’s a big twist, because we’re usually to seeing smiley, goody two shoes Woo Tak. Who would know he’d have a darker side?
Jae Chan and Hong Joo’s development in their relationship is also really, really cute! You can see them slowly adapting to each other, opening up to each other and learning to trust each other in every situation. They’re starting to lean more to each other, and being closer. Also, they’re finally admitting to each other that they like each other. They’re being cute and supportive to each other, and always holding each other’s hands. I’m not okay. ITS SO CUTE. I’ll just say both of their character development are really good. But I’ll just leave that for the final review.
One of the things that really hit me in episode 18 was when his senior, Prosecutor Shin advised him to just arrest Han Kyung, even if he wasn’t guilty. Jae Chan was facing the hatred and rage of the nation and the prosecution himself. His entire career was on the line. And it hit me that in any point of time in our lives, sometimes doing the right thing is a hard thing to do. It was the right thing for him to release Han Kyung, but it was going to rain down hard on him. We’re always going to be battling this ongoing conflict in our lives, where being righteous starts being a conflict. Are we going to do good, or will we turn a blind eye? Life is a big conflict. I’m proud Jae Chan did the right thing, but it really did backlash against him in the end. Maybe that’s why finding someone righteous is hard nowadays. Because it doesn’t mean when you’re doing the right thing, you’re doing the best thing. How do you stay true to yourself when you have the world against you?
Overall, episodes 11-20 impressed further on and I have high hopes for this drama. It’s unique and intricate plot is really the main beauty of this drama, and Jongsuk and Suzy’s incredible acting add to it. It truly is living up to it’s well deserved hype. Review on episodes 21-32 will be updated soon, and I’ll post an overall review as well. Till then!

Ask Me Anything: Q&A
Ask Me Anything: Q&A - Bikinis & Passports
This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse the site, you are agreeing to our use of cookies.
Well, that escalated quickly! A good 10 hours ago, we were at the airport waiting to board to New York City with a 1.5 hour delay. So I decided to use the question tool on Instagram Stories for the first time and posted a “ ask me anything” call to action. Little did I know there was lots of things you were burning to know… I received so many questions from you (so many good ones, also!), that answering all of them in my stories would be borderline spam. Hence, I decided to make use of the 9-hour flight and jot them down in one big Q&A blogpost. That way, the answers won’t disappear after 24 hours and you may get to know me a little better.
How did you meet your boyfriend? 12 years ago in school. He was attending the HAK and I was in the Gymnasium next door. I was the new girl from California and he wrote me on Uboot (which was before Myspace in the good old days).
Favorite boutique in Vienna? Amicis, Duft & Kultur, Lederleitner Home + Inked.
How do you manage to deal with your travels, relationship and household all at the same time? My boyfriend also works and travels a lot, so there is a mutual understanding there. We have our wonderful Anita who helps with the household once per week and I think that if you love what you do, it always helps and seems only have as bad!
What is your favorite city to travel to? So difficult! I love the L.A. lifestyle and it feels like home, but NYC is pure magic. In Europe, I love Rome and Paris but would not want to live there!
In which city could you imagine living? Mike and I always wanted to go to college in Munich, and it is still a city I love! But nothing beats Vienna in terms of quality of life!
Do you think that there is still a chance to make it big in this Instagram fashion business now? Yes! Quality always wins! If you create unique, creative content, it will pay off sooner or later!
What is your favorite running interval training? 20 minutes of running sprints on the treadmill, alternating between 1 minute at 14km/h and 2 minutes at 8.5km/h. Such a torch and super effective!
What do you eat on the flight back home when you can’t prep your meals? I usually wash the containers I came with and stock up at a health food store with things like pre-made quinoa salads or hard-boiled eggs. If this is not an option, apples, nuts, raw bars and lots of water!
Why do you never take pictures with your boyfriend? I do – I just don’t post them <3
Where are you heading? New York City for 4 days to see the Weeknd, Dua Lipa and Migos at a festival on Randall Island.
What are you especially thankful for in life? 1000% for my family! It is an absolute privilege to grow up with and surrounded by so much love and support at home.
What are your dream destinations? Where do you really want to go? Bali is at the very top of that list, followed by South Africa, Fiji and Vietnam!
Favorite brunch spots in Vienna? Vienna is a great place to have breakfast or brunch, my favorites are The Guesthouse (serving breakfast until 11pm), Motto am Fluss, Salonplafond, Ulrich and/or Erich and the acai bowls at Superfood Deli.
What are your favorite trends of the season? I am loving satin (midi) skirts, wrap skirts, lots of white, linen-inspired fabrics, loose fitted pants and timeless sandals (like the Hermes Oran sandals or Nu Pieds by Saint Laurent)
Do you still have fitness “goals” (ie. More workouts, more yoga,…)? Not really. I am super happy with my 3-4 workouts per week at the moment and the flow I am in. However, I do want to incorporate more yoga and regular runs again.
Favorite book? Can’t decide (forever a fan of Harry Potter, To Kill A Mockingbird and The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants).
What products do you use for your hair? Currently shampoo & conditioner by Playe + the Moroccan hair oil. But I also love Kerastase, The OUAI and Aveda.
Why do you never show your boyfriend? No reason in particular! Despite loving social media, I (we) think it is important to keep certain things private – he is one of them!
Does your assistant only work for you or The Daily Dose also? What does she do? She only works for me and her tasks always vary. She does a lot of organizational stuff (book keeping, post office,…) but is also in contact with clients or does research for new posts.
Were you always organizes or did you have to learn to be? I feel like social media can be misleading. While a lot of travel definitely requires a lot of organization, my life is far from organized. If you see a clean corner of my apartment on Instagram, chances are the other side of the room looks like a bomb exploded… just sayin’
Are you in Vienna at the end of August, beginning of September? We are going to Tuscany with the entire family and I couldn’t be more excited!
How long have you and your boyfriend been a couple? It will be 12 years in September!
Why the “new girl from Cali”? Did you live there? Why did you move to Austria? I lived in Southern California from age 10 to (almost) 16 because my dad worked there. And we also moved to Austria for the same reason.
Which district in Vienna would you recommend for living? Many! Every district has beautiful corners and some that are not so hot! My favorites are 4, 5, 6 and 7. The Servietenviertel in the 9th district is beautiful, the outer 19th and 18th… like I said, so many!
When will the home-workout videos by your personal trainer be available for purchase? Soon! The video team is currently working on the last rounds of edits!
Coolest places for girls week out in Vienna? Lunch, dinner? I would make sure to have lunch at Mochi, sundowner drinks at Tel Aviv Beach or the 25 hours rooftop bar, an afternoon glass of rosé at Naschmarkt, dinner at Motto in the 5th district, brunch at The Guesthouse Vienna or Motto am Fluss and if you like people watching, have some bubbles and small bites at Schwarzes Kameel in the first district or drinks at the Fabios bar. Classic cocktail bar: Roberto’s or Kleinod.
In what job/profession do you see yourself at age 40? Content creation, for sure! That could be social media, strategic input or photography – but definitely something creative and preferably still in self-employment!
Have you been to Budapest? What languages do you speak? Yes, I have been to Budapest twice (beautiful city, very similar to Vienna in many ways). I speak fluent German and English, plus a few bits and pieces of French.
Where do you see yourself in 10/15 years? With a family, still working (yay for working moms, we can really do it all) side-by-side with my best friend, living in an apartment that we own and I spent all my free-time remodeling to our likes, traveling a lot and learning to speak a different language fluently.
Do you ever regret having started with Social Media? No! I think if you practice a healthy relationship with/on social media, it is a beautiful source of inspiration and communication. Plus, I have my career to thank for it!
Which boutiques can you recommend in Munich? Unfortunately, Munich is not my hometown, so not really any – except I always stop by Theresa when I am in town!
Favorite flowers? I love flowers in general, but peonies, hydrangeas and wild garden roses are definitely at the top of the list.
All time favorite spots in Vienna? Fabios has the best Italian food and great service, The Guesthouse is my favorite hotel (and love their brunch), Mochi is a must, Motto am Fluss has a great breakfast, Neni at Naschmarkt and Roberto’s is a cool bar. But there are so many more!
How tall are you? 172cm
Favorite restaurant in Vienna? Fabios! Never fails!!
Daily make-up essentials? A tinted moisturizer or bb cream with SPF, mascara and bronzer and some sort of an eyebrow product (or even better freshly tinted brows!)
Where do you find interior inspiration? Good question! Probably the most via Pinterest and travels. I am such a sucker for stylish hotels and always find so much inspiration when traveling. I also pick hotels based on their interiors and style a lot of the time. Also, a cool boutique in NYC (think: the Apartment by The Line), stylish café in LA or a pretty restaurant in Paris can be a source of inspiration!
Books that have helped me develop as a person? Wow, such a good but tough question. I am not sure if any single book has had a particular impact, but I do think that The Circle (social media control/obsession) was a good read even though I didn’t like the end and earlier this year I read Magic Cleaning by Marie Kondo and am determined to clean out our apartment (and life) in a major way! Also, I am currently reading The Marshmallow Test and if it comes close to the reviews, I am sure it will help me develop as well!
Do you want to get married? Yes! But let’s not forget that a wedding/marriage comes in all shapes and sizes.
Is there a discount code as part of your Pandora collaboration? I am currently not actively collaborating with Pandora. All the jewellery I wear from them is just because I love it. So unfortunately: no.
Where did you get your jade roller? Is it also available in the US? I ordered mine via Cult Beauty and paid around 17€ for it. And yes, they are also available in the US – try amazon!
Are you originally from California? Nope, born in Stuttgart, Germany!
Do you want to get married and have kids? Yes and yes.
Are there rules you eat by? There are a few basics that I keep in mind when it comes to nutrition. I try not to snack, instead have 3 full meals per day with 4-5 hours between each meal. I try to have protein with every meal, eat tons of vegetables and usually don’t have anything raw (uncooked) at night because it is hard for the body to digest. I eat carbs mostly for breakfast and lunch, rarely at night.
What sign are you? Aquarius
Favorite districts in Vienna? 1st, 4th and 5th, 6th, 7th and corners of the 3rd.
What is your best tip for a long and healthy relationship? Funny enough, I have been working on a post about this exact question for over a week now. It will probably be live on Sunday of this week and will include not 1 but 10 tips! However, my no.1 tip is probably brutal honesty and the ability to fight or disagree (in a healthy, respectful manner).
What made you happy today? A text message from my mom the first thing in the morning, wishing us safe travels. Mom’s are the best, right?
What’s your favorite color, and also color combination (especially for outfits)? I am not sure I have a favorite color. Even though I wear almost every color, none of them are particularly “my favorite”. I love a neutral color palette and also think they are the easiest to work with in terms of outfits. White, beige, gray, black… and in my world, leopard is also considered a neutral!
What are your plans for the next years? Both for work and private! I have never been someone to plan ahead too much. I just try to stay open for every opportunity that comes along. For work, we have a few exciting things in the making for The Daily Dose, which we are not ready to talk about just yet, and privately I still have a few destinations on my travel bucket list before I start thinking about family (and stuff).
What is your favorite athletic brand? Definitely Lululemon. The quality is amazing and the cuts usually very flattering. A new brand I am loving is aimn, Puma has recently made some really cool stuff and of course the regulars like Adidas and Nike. I also wrote a blogpost about my favorite workout wear here.
What is your favorite spot for hot days in Vienna? In all honesty: our terrace. Such a lame answer and not very helpful to you guys. But the outside space is the reason we fell in love with our current apartment. Nothing makes me happier than a BBQ with friends on a hot day. In terms of spaces that are open to the public, I think Tel Aviv Beach is great for drinks or Pratersauna for good music and an occasional dip in the pool!
outfit details: ZARA sweats (aka my travel pants), Anine Bing shirt, Chloé beltbag, Hermes sandals
Favorite brand for dresses? Overall, I think Self-Portrait. I think the price-point is more than fair, the styles beautiful and the quality good. Lately, though, I have really been loving Ganni (especially dresses and skirts) and of course, Zimmermann makes beautiful dresses as well!
Favorite podcasts? I don’t listen to a lot of podcasts, but The Goop is my favorite that I have come across so far. Even though I find myself drawn to topics around health, fitness and food, I thought the recent one called “who are you in a crisis?” with the spiritual legend Marianne Williamson was extremely powerful!
What are you reading right now or have read recently that you’d recommend? I am going through a phase where I prefer guides/studies to novels. Magic Cleaning by Marie Kondo was one of those and currently I am reading The Marshmallow Test about the ability of self-control and how it goes hand-in-hand with a successful, fulfilled life!
What are your favorite skincare products at the moment? My routine is simple: micellar water to cleanse, a hydrating or calming serum + moisturizer. Currently, I love the micellar water by La Roche-Posay or Caudalie, the Bobbi Brown remedies (80 + 86), Dior Capture Youth serums (Redness Relief + Plump Filler), the Charlotte Tilbury Miracle Cream and Crème de la Mer moisturizer.
Favorite dinner spots in Vienna? Depends entirely on the mood/occasion. But Fabios or Mochi is where we always have our date nights.
What motivates you and how do you find motivation? My biggest motivation in life is spending my time doing things I love. Having turned my hobby into a job is the biggest blessing and is pure motivation itself. Even though it also includes tasks that I really have to force myself to do (accounting, for example). The procrastinator that I am, deadlines have always been one source of motivation for me. Also, purposefully slowing down can be really motivating. To me, slower/calmer phases are always a good source of inspiration because I am not constantly chasing a to-do list but have time to let my thoughts wander and creativity spark.
How do you edit your photos on Instagram? I usually only use the app VSCO cam (filters A4 or C8) and all the tools within the apps to adjust brightness, saturation, grain,… it always depends on the original photo. For some effects I like Afterlight and if I need to make a pimple disappear, Facetune is the app.
What do you think about fasting in-flight? Probably not a whole lot. I am the type of person who likes to use food to pass time and I am a boredom snacker. My in-flight meals and snacks are ways to make the flight go by faster. Even though I love the idea of intermediate fasting and practice it at home sometimes, I think a plane filled with strangers and the occasional crying baby is not the place to be hungry. Of course, it totally depends on the length of the flight. For anything longer than 2 hours I have snacks, for flights over 5 hours I bring full meals!
How do you edit your photos for your feed but also your stories? Again, VSCO cam (filters A4 or C8) but for the stories I also sometimes use an app called “unfold” to create those collages or frames.
Favorite perfume? Even though I am currently not using it, I would have to say Chance Eau Vive by Chanel.
Favorite mascara? “lash expert twist brush”The by terry .
What should everyone have in their closet? A really good pair of jeans (no holes), a simple black and/or white round-neck t-shirt and a pair of black heels that you can walk in all evening!
What do you NOT like to eat? I will definitely get hate for this, but: gummy bears! Not even as a kid did I like the artificial color, flavor or consistency. I just don’t understand the point. Also, any intestines.
Do you have tips for long-distance flights? Yes, I do! Lots and lots of water (no alcohol or coffee), healthy food and snacks, no make-up + lots of hydrating products. Read some of my tips HERE or be sure to check out this article on The Daily Dose.
Do you ever have days that you are simply lazy? I think it depends on your definition of lazy. In the classic sense of staying in bed all day: no, not unless I am sick. But in the sense of no work: of course! For example when I am home with my parents. But that may include a morning workout, long walk, cooking together or taking the oldtimers out for a ride I guess the word would not necessarily be lazy but rather relaxing or offline.
How did you and Katharina become friends/business partners? Like ya’ll by each other 24/7! We met when she moved into my old apartment. We instantly hit it off, founded The Daily Dose 6 months later and have been inseparable ever since!
Which lipstick is your favorite? I actually have two: the “rich nude” art stick by Bobbi Brown and the “Nude York City Style” 002 by Catrice.
Which good vintage stores do you know in Vienna? Unfortunately I am not a big vintage shopper. The only one I know is Burggasse 24.
How can I love myself without makeup? I think the key is feeling comfortable in your own skin. So focus on good skincare and drink lots of water. Also, I feel so much more confident without make-up if I have my eyebrows and lashes tinted. Try working your way towards less make-up with more natural-looking products like a tinted moisturizer or bb cream.
Do you have a monthly shopping budget or is it different every month? It varies every month. I never go shopping just for the sake of it, but when I see something I love, I usually splurge right away (if it is not crazy expensive).
Which yoga/pilates clothes can you recommend? Also Lululemon or Hey Honey!
What are your L.A. must-sees? Hike up Runyon Canyon early in the morning, have breakfast or lunch at the Malibu Farm and go to El Matador State Beach after, Abbot Kinney Road in Venice Beach, Griffith Observatory, Rodeo Dr. (obviously), Universal Studios, Melrose Drive and an In ‘n Out Burger, of course!
Do you miss you cappuccino now and then? Never! If I would miss it, I would totally just have it! Occasionally, I feel like an almond milk flat white, but on the daily I absolutely love my black Americano and much prefer it to a cappuccino!
Would you ever show your kids on Instagram? Probably in some way yes. But haven’t put much thought into it yet since kids are nowhere near on the horizon!
Do you use self tanner? If so, which one can you recommend? The only self tanner I use is L’eau Tan by Chanel. It is super subtle and actually smells good. But not really a self tanner in the traditional sense! I have also tried Tan Luxe twice and was pretty happy with the results.
If you had to choose just 1 beauty product – which one would it be? It is a close call between a tinted moisturizer with SPF and a highlighting bronzer. I am obsessed with a natural glow. However, I would have to get my brows and lashes tinted weekly – no can do without eyebrows!
One word to describe yourself? So basic, but “happy”. I think it is in my nature to be happy and easy-going 90% of the time!

Hak My Life – Thoughts on Finding a Way to Win at Home After Flyers 5, Coyotes 4
Dave Hakstol called a timeout. Asked about it later, he said he wished he would have taken it sooner. But the timeout, itself, was irrelevant.
The Flyers had just allowed two shorthanded goals – on the same power play. Their two-goal lead from a quick start was gone and replaced by a sudden two-goal deficit.
Hakstol didn’t want to say much. His players knew the gravity of the situation.
Here they were, melting down on home ice, in front of their fans… again.
Twitter was ablaze. The calls for Joel Quenneville to be the new coach were fever pitched.
But there was one message from the coach. One that apparently has to be reiterated to this team whenever they play in front of their fans:
“It’s a matter of getting back together. Getting your brains settled down. Calm down. Worry about the next shift. Don’t worry about everything else going on on the other side of the glass. We’ve had some struggles in this building, so get the focus on the ice. That’s the only message.”
The Flyers were able to block out everything else and find a way back to win the game. They scored third period goals with the fourth line and the third line on the ice. Scott Laughton (two goals) and Dale Weise were the guys who tied it and Shayne Gostisbehere won it with an overtime goal.
That’s good and all, but I want to get back to what Hakstol said for a minute…
“Don’t worry about what’s going on on the other side of the glass. We’ve had some struggles in this building so get the focus on the ice.”
Sure as hell sounds like he’s saying his team is frequently unnerved on home ice by the fans being a bit negative.
Am I crazy? Please tell me I’m crazy.
I’m not crazy. It’s absolutely why the Flyers seem to play much better hockey on the road than they do at home. It’s the antithesis of everything you expect in professional sports. Flyers home games used to be the greatest home game advantage in professional sports.
Opposing players would often get the “Philly flu” when coming to play the Flyers. They dominated games at the old Spectrum.
Now, home ice has turned into a house of horrors for the Flyers, and it sounds like they crack under fan pressure.
The good thing is, they didn’t completely crumble against the Coyotes and found the gumption to come back and win the game.
“The bottom line is sometimes you just got to sack up and get a character win,” Hakstol said. “That’s what tonight was. … Having success [on the recent road trip] helps. It helps you believe in what you are doing. That was a big part of tonight. We didn’t start cheating on things. We didn’t start pressing. We went out and played. We played a little harder. We played a little better. We didn’t start winging it out there and cheating the game – and that’s real important in a situation like that.”
As a side note, candid Dave Hakstol has been the most pleasant surprise of this season.
The fact of the matter is, the Flyers used their recent run of success to trump whatever bad mojo they seem to think hovers over them like a perennial rain cloud at home. But there has to remain a modicum of concern that there is a mental block with this team when it comes to playing in front of their fans.
Candid Dave elaborated further:
“We have to do that [get the fans back on our side]. That onus is on us. Our effort. Our intensity. Our play. You saw what the place was like in the third period.”
But is this team the confident team that we saw in the third period pull a victory from the jaws of defeat? Or are they still a fragile collective, who have rabbit ears when it comes to fans in their own building?
“We’re a confident team,” Hakstol said. “I believe it. Whatever word you want to put on it, the guys in the room are tight. You either blow apart when you go through some tough situations or you come together. And we’ve come a little closer together.”
As for the game, it was like three games in one. The fast start. The epic collapse. The unexpected comeback.
Here are the characters who played a huge part in those three stories:
1. Dale Weise
Russ spent a good amount of time talking to Weise, who had the play of the game – a breakaway goal late in the third period to complete the comeback.
It was surely an unexpected hero for the Flyers – and I’ll let Russ dive into the details, but I wanted to say one thing about it…
Weise has been one of the most consistent Flyers this season. He’s been really good and a moment like this has been on the horizon for some time.
Good for Weise, who five weeks ago wasn’t even sure if he’d have an NHL job this season, and now is contributing at a level far beyond anyone else’s expectations.
2. Scott Laughton
Laughton admitted after the game that while his team was playing well on the recent road trip, he wasn’t at his best.
It actually goes back further than that.
Yes, Laughton has been scoring goals, but his advanced metrics have been pretty meager.
His CorsiFor% is 43.17, worst on the team (not counting Andrew MacDonald, who has been rooted to the press box for most of the past month). It’s one of the reasons Laughton was demoted from the third line and replaced by Weise.
But Laughton had great jump and energy from his first shift against Arizona. He only ended up playing 9:17 in the game, but it sure as hell seemed like he was on the ice for a lot more than that.
That’s because he was a noticeable player every time he stepped on the ice.
He did this:

… and this:
LAUGHTON IS ON FIRE
He scores his second of the night to put the Flyers within one. pic.twitter.com/Mh8P5imedq
— NBC Sports Philadelphia (@NBCSPhilly) November 9, 2018
It was his second two-goal game this season, and believe it or not, the fourth line Flyer is now tied for second on the team in goals with six this season.
“I think from the first shift you can feel your legs going,” Laughton said. “I don’t think I had the best West Coast trip. The team played well but I feel like I could have played better and help this team. So, good effort by the team tonight, but the biggest thing is we have to follow it up on Saturday.”
3. Shayne Gostisbehere
What a crazy game for Ghost. He had a run-in with an official when things were falling apart for the Flyers, but then bounces back to set up Weise with the tying goal and score the game-winner.
First the bad:
There's the Flyers we know and love. pic.twitter.com/kgBWXCk6kx
— Sons of Penn (@SonsofPenn) November 9, 2018
We’ll get to the linesman being in the way in a second, but what you don’t see here is Ghost failing to keep the puck in at the point. That was a shocker because he’s probably the best in the league at keeps.
It’s gotten to a point where plays like this are the surprise and great keeps by Ghost are the norm. This was on a Flyers power play and the Arizona penalty kill is the best in the NHL and came into the game with seven shorthanded goals already. That’s a remarkable number.
So, they definitely pressure the puck at the point on the power play and force you to make mistakes.
Ghost also fumbled the puck initially in the neutral zone before corralling it for a brief second when the video above starts.
Now, the linesman, Michel Cormier, who is a veteran and has worked more than 1,000 games in his 10-year career, absolutely got in the way. Maybe he too was expecting a Gostisbehere keep and was surprised that the play suddenly was coming at him. Still, he’s got to get out of the way, and the effort he made, while valiant, definitely had him in the wrong position on the ice.
Linesmen used to hop up and sit on the end boards to get out of the way. Not sure what happened there, but they no longer do that. They try and skate out of the way and, well, plays like this happen more frequently than ever before.
Anyway, Gostisbehere was pissed after the goal. So much so that he immediately wet over to Cormier and started barking at him. Cormier was none too pleased and chirped back. It stuck in Ghost’s craw all night. He was even a little feisty about it after the game, albeit he did take a second to bring some needed levity to the situation:
Question: On a play like that where it gets caught in the [official’s] skates, what do you do on something like that?
“Aww man, It’s hard not to get mad right now, but it happened. Thankfully we came back and we won. We definitely made it a little harder, but we won.”
Question: It’s hard not to react at that point too?
“Yes, definitely. I have a weapon in my hand. … I’m just kidding. (Lots of laughter). It is what it is. It’s part of the game. I definitely got heated. He got heated. It is what it is.”
They won the game because Jake Voracek finally decided to have a good shift in overtime.
Kind of lost in the shuffle of the game (Voracek had the turnover that lead to the other shorthanded goal the Flyers allowed seconds later), Voracek made the game-winning goal happen, first with a great play to get a high-percentage shot on goal that Darcy Kuemper actually made a really nice stop against, before Voracek corralled the rebound and fed Gostisbehere for the game winner:

— NBC Sports Philadelphia (@NBCSPhilly) November 9, 2018
That’s two games in a row where the Flyers didn’t play great hockey and still found a way to win. Another big part of that was this guy:
4. Brian Elliott
He didn’t even start the game as he was still recovering from a minor injury. The Flyers really didn’t want him to have to play but Calvin Pickard had a rough night. He allowed four goals on 18 shots, and although his teammates hung him out to dry allowing successive short-handed goals (Arizona now has nine… that’s usually among the league leader in April, not November. It’s an insane number), he didn’t make the big stop.
Not to mention, he really should have had this one:
And we're tied pic.twitter.com/6Rmk9pyrmg
— Sons of Penn (@SonsofPenn) November 9, 2018
Yeah, there was a bad change by the Flyers that created this opportunity, but that’s a shot your goalie has to save.
Anyway, after the two shorties, Hakstol pulled Pickard and put in Elliott.
There was no margin for error for Moose, and he didn’t have any.
“You’re not thinking about letting in goals, you just want to get in front of pucks,” Elliott said. “The heartbeat gets going pretty quickly. Sometimes it’s a lot easier to just get thrown in and watch the pucks into your body. I had a couple shots right away and was able to get the feel of things and it makes it easier when guys are pressing down the other end and we got good energy and some goals.”
Elliott made 16 saves in 31:34 of ice time to earn the win in relief. And while none of those saves were highlight-worthy, there were more than a couple sneaky tough saves in there that often handcuff goalies, and Elliott did his part to keep the Flyers in the game when one more goal would have easily ended the night differently.
5. Penalty kill
This wasn’t good – again.
Something really has to change here. I don’t know what. The fans have been screaming for Ian Laperriere to lose his job as an assistant coach because the PK has gotten progressively worse. And it’s an understandable reaction – although I think Laperriere probably brings more to the coaching staff than just managing the PK – although that is what his top priority should be.
But the Flyers PK simply is terrible in front of it’s own net. They know it. The other team knows it. And it seems like every goal allowed by the PK is identical:
OEL gets Arizona within a goal. pic.twitter.com/AnhJbwKCjV
— Sons of Penn (@SonsofPenn) November 9, 2018
There’s a lot of standing around here. The most noticeable is Christian Folin. He basically just lets the screen set up shop right in front of Pickard and makes no effort to clear it away. I’m not sure what Ivan Provorov is doing here either. And Jori Lehtera’s attempt to block Oliver Ekman-Larsson’s shot was pretty lame.
Only Laughton looks like he was working here, and that’s a problem for the Flyers that never gets fixed. Successful penalty kills are all about effort, will and selflessness. It’s grunt work, but it’s important.
The Flyers penalty kill percentage is now 68.4%, 30th in the NHL. Only the Ottawa Senators are worse at 67.3% (You may have seen the Uber video).
Here’s the thing, the worst season in NHL history, since power plays and penalty kills have been tracked, was by the 1979-80 Los Angeles Kings. Their PK that season was 68.2%. So the Flyers (and Sens) are in rarefied air here with some of the worst units ever.
The fact that the organization continues to let this fester, now into a fourth year, is the most damning thing you can point out. It’s been bad for so long and nothing tangible has been done in an attempt to fix it.
6. Crazy Stats
Just some stuff for you….
The Flyers have now allowed a power play goal in nine straight games. This is the longest successive streak of that kind of futility since 2005-06 when they had a 10-game streak of bad penalty killing (Remember those halcyon days of Derian Hatcher and Mike Rathje? Good times!) The franchise record is 12 straight games, which has happened four times, most recently in 1993-94.
The Flyers had never won a game where they allowed two shorthanded goals on the same penalty – until Thursday. Granted, it had only happened twice before – in a 6-4 loss to Pittsburgh in 2012 and a 12-0 drubbing by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1969.
Claude Giroux played his 754th career game to move past Chris Therien into fourth place all-time in franchise history. He also recorded his second consecutive multi-point game (2A) after posting two goals and an assist on Monday night. It’s his seventh multi-point game of the season. He has had an understated start to the season. He has 19 points in 16 games, which has him in the top 10 in the NHL in scoring (tied for ninth) and only five points behind league leader Mikko Rantanen of Colorado.
The Flyers continue to dominate in the faceoff circle. They won 63% of draws against Arizona and are second-best in the NHL in faceoff wins at 55.4%.
7. Getting Gritty with it
Maybe the best moment of a Dave Hakstol press conference ever occurred after the game. When talking about what the fans expect out of his team he had this stream-of-conscience gem:
“I really believe that the people that are in the seats and are fans of the Flyers, they want effort. They want compete. And when they see that, it’s not just about the result. They want that gritty… I can’t believe I just used that word. (Laughter). Check please! I need to go home.”
It’s official, the Flyers mascot has forever impacted coach speak.

The Moonies Cult, Politics & Mixed Kids – Are They All Connected?
youtube
Becky and Cedric  #TheHalfieProjectPodcast
The Unification Church (also sometimes referred to as the Moonies Cult) is a religious organization that sprouted up in Busan, South Korea before making a very bold movement into the United States as well as many other countries around the world. Widely known for their mass weddings, the Unification Church has intrigued and disturbed many people in many ways in many circles – whether religiously, societally, financially and even politically. We discuss the possibility that the Unification Church has had an impact on how many mixed people, primarily mixed Korean, there are around the world today.

“Shocking Report – part 2
The family of the late Sun Myung Moon (Unification Church) ‘more corrupt than you can imagine’
Four of the 14 children of the marriage with Han Hak-ja died in accidental deaths. The remaining children lead unfortunate lives: ‘psychosis, drug addiction, sex mania’
Moon Sun Myung married his first wife, Miss Choi Seon-gil, on April 28, 1945. [She was 19 when she was first introduced to Mr Moon.] They had a son, Moon Sung-jin, who was born on April 9, 1946. It became known that Moon Sun Myung and Choi Seon-gil divorced on January 8, 1957, on the grounds of the so-called Unification Church pikareum doctrine (a ceremony to restore the blood lineage [through ritual sex]). On July 18, 1973, Mr. Moon’s actual first son, Sung-jin married Kim Dong-sook, the daughter of Kim Won-pil, an important Unification Church member. [Kim Dong-sook was born on January 30, 1955. There have been many reports that Moon was her father. She was listed as a ‘True Child’ when she visited Moon in 2012. She could only be a ‘True Child’ if Moon was her biological father. There is no family resemblance between Dong-sook and the wife of Kim Won-pil.]
Mr. Moon’s second wife was Mrs. Kim Chong-hwa. At this time, after being accused by Kim’s husband Chong Myeong-seon of being involved in a ceremony to restore the blood lineage [pikareum], Moon Sun Myung [and Kim Chong-hwa were arrested on] February 22, 1948 and he was sentenced to 5 years in prison. He carried out the sentence at prisons in Pyongyang, Daedong and Heungnam. [Charges of bigamy have also been mentioned by the Los Angeles Times and other sources. Mrs Kim Chong-hwa spent one year in jail at the same time as Mr. Moon. See below.]
The third wife of Mr. Moon was Miss Kim Myung-hee (June 30, 1955). [This date seems to be the date of their marriage – not long before her departure for Japan. Three Korean scholars reported that Moon married her. UC publications in Japan state that they had a marriage ceremony.] She gave birth to Moon Hee-jin [on August 17, 1955 in Tokyo]. He later died in a train accident [as the train approached Maepo station in Chungbuk Province] on August 1, 1969. It was known that Kim Myung-hee was a student at “Y” University [Yonsei University in Seoul]. As a single woman, she took part in the ceremony to restore the blood lineage [pikareum], according to Unification Church teachings, and she became Mr. Moon’s third wife. [A Japanese FFWPU / UC publication, The Chūwa Shinbun, states they had a marriage ceremony in Korea in 1954. See issue dated September 12, 1992. Perhaps the UC gave 1954 as a marriage date to give the impression that the couple were married before their child was conceived.]
Mr Moon’s fourth wife, Mrs. Choi Won-bok, was called the ‘Great Mother’ within the Unification Church. [She joined the UC in 1954. She was also known as ‘Second Mother.’]
Mr Moon’s fifth wife is the current Chairperson of the Unification Church / FFWPU, Han Hak Ja. She bore 14 children, but four of them have died.
And there was one more wife in addition to Han Hak Ja. She was, so to speak, sort of like Mr. Moon’s sixth wife. Her name was Miss Choi Soon-wha. It was known that through the ceremony to restore the blood lineage [pikareum] she conceived and gave birth to Samuel Park [who was born on January 28, 1966 in the US].”
