Buddy Daddies, final thoughts.
Tumblr media
I had such a fun time watching this show one episode at a time every Friday morning. I haven’t been this tuned in to an anime in a long time but I was so excited about this one from the beginning!
It’s so weird thinking back to everyone saying “it’s like Spy x Family with two guys” because that became inaccurate so fast haha we really thought it was going to be a light-hearted comedy... they really got us.
I loved the Wednesday previews, the music (especially the lofi remix!), the instagram posts, the notes, and whoever started the bingo, bless you! ♡
♡❤♡❤♡❤♡❤♡
Overall Buddy Daddies was a rollercoaster (not ferris wheel thank goodness)! I really could not guess where it was going from episode to episode, it could have gone in a million different directions, but I am so happy that this is the story we got.
The way Miri burst into everyone’s hearts from episode one ♡ and for a four/five year old, was shown to be such a great kid who wants to be accepted, wants to make friends, who sticks up for others, and who tells people when they’re doing something wrong.
Rei starting out as a stereotypical quiet mysterious dark haired character but becoming SO MUCH MORE. Sure it took him a minute but he was the one who FOUGHT for their family the most - he became the GLUE. We all thought it was going to be Kazuki, but it was Rei. He said ‘I want to be a family’ and then they DID.
Tumblr media
Kazuki on the other hand, the overprotective mama hen, he created their family. He CHOSE Rei, chose to move in, chose to take care of him, to buy him a couch, cook for him, and stay with him. He took one look at Miri, smiled and chose to run after her - he didn’t have to do that during their mission. He chose to risk the mission to save her, to call himself her papa, to take her home. This means so much more knowing he’s an orphan who never had a family - he went and created one.

About the queerness specifically ~
From what I saw -from the show- if I knew nothing about it and just hit play and watched all the way through...
Rei seemed ace/aro to me. He’s not shown to have any romantic or sexual relationships past, present, or time skip. This guy grew up with ZERO affection so it’s either he doesn’t know how, can’t, or isn’t interested. But there’s no attempt or interest, so aro/ace it is! Even with Kazuki, we see him accepting help, them clearly forming a bond to be living together for three+ years and be partners doing dangerous work together - that requires a lot of trust and we finally see that trust and teamwork in episode 12 - but it’s unspoken between them. They’re not affectionate with each other, not physically close, etc. (that we see anyway).
Kazuki definitely seems bi or pan. He’s obviously into women, but he also does this thing where he’s kind of flirty with guys in a joking way? (see images below) To me that’s nervous bisexual energy. That’s just the overall vibe I get from him too. Also that look he had on his face when he first saw Rei... suspicious.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Would I have liked it if they showed each other more affection? Yes! Especially in the later episodes. If their relationship was canon? Hell yes! Because I like BL and I think it would’ve been cute and also made sense and added to their character development.
There’s ~plenty~ of room to read into queerness in this show... I actually think it would be an even better story if they were in a relationship for a few reasons.
For Rei, finally being free to be his true self, being with someone for love and not for the family bloodline, to accept love and affection. And Kazuki, forgiving himself, letting himself be happy again, finding love again. I think that’s an amazing story for the both of them!
But they didn’t make it that way. This show isn’t (technically) a BL and that’s okay. They still both found happiness and family - and that’s what’s most important.

Tumblr media
Buddy Daddies was FUN and that could have been it but it was deeper than that, watching all of them grow and change together. The ending made me cry tears of joy and relief that they’re all happy and safe.
I have a few tiny things I didn’t like or would have changed, but they’re so minor looking back at the show as a whole.
I do wish they spread out the story, either with more episodes, longer episodes, or both. I wanted to see more small moments, more fluff, more day-to-day family activities, more Rei & Kazuki being friends and having regular conversations, and more assassin scenes with them working together like in the beginning of ep. 1 and in ep. 12. We mostly saw them mess up their work... I wanted to see more action!!
But the show did SO MUCH more than expected with this story.
The ending episode was AMAZING!! We got to see them fight together for themselves and their family, we saw them being there for Miri, and the time skip!!!! I CRIED EVERY TIME I WATCHED THE TIME SKIP SCENE!!! Miri growing up to be a lovely happy healthy girl. Rei & Kazuki owning a diner at the beach. A simple life full of love and acceptance.
Tumblr media
From episode 1, did I think Buddy Daddies would make me cry? NO
Did I think I would post this much about this show? NO I wasn’t planning on posting about it at all!
But here we are crying and spending all day/night on tumblr sharing our thoughts, reading the thoughts of others. It’s been a blast!

Day 13: Friday January 13, 2023 - “He Just Needs Love”
My current hobby: learning all I can about how to have really exceptional Dad days with a busy toddler.  From wake up to bedtime, being mindful every step of the way, stacking one piece at a time.  Audrie wants to put a beautiful spin on it that makes it seem so simple - and maybe thats why she’s such an effective Mom. “play, eat, change diaper, repeat. As for me, Ive got to work a lot harder!  Where I am not a natural, I need to be skillful.  I’ve learned the importance of having a plan, and staying a step ahead, having distractions in my back pocket ready for when things get sideways on me.  Its a big responsibility and I can’t just wing it.  I got him.
Today, after only about 4 hours of sleep, we were up and watching some Bluey.  Until 9am when I had to get on a work call. I got the butter noodles and Signing Time queued up to help me out so I could juggle both. It worked, enough = Win.   I got him down for morning nap after a little struggle - no Mom milk available buddy, going to have to do this right or risk not getting that break at all!  Got the right combo of songs, and toys, and cuddles and he was out at 10:45.
Time to hustle now.  I figured I had 20 to 60 minutes to be productive and I used it to clean and reset the house...nothing is more helpful to my mental health on these days than that.  Clean slate.  Time to breathe and clean up the chaos. When he wakes up, we’ll have our fresh start.   We’ll have gotten over the biggest hurdle - the “Thursday night / Friday morning tornado.”  Ready to start over.
At one hour, on the dot, he started quaking from his bed.  I quickly scooped him up, bopped him across the house, and settled into our bed.  I figured Id lay and cuddle him, extend his nap, and take as much bonus rest as we could get.   He laid there with me, drooling on my shoulder, for another 75 minutes.   Big win!!!   Day=shortened.  Win.
Just after 1 and I had to listen in on another work call - A+++ for whomever invented the bluetooth headset.  I have to imagine it was for working Dads and moments like these as I chased and entertained William all through the house and even outside while multi-tasking....where we both enjoyed how nice and warm that sunny sky felt!
As soon as my call was over, the next step of my plan was ready to go.  Lets go back get outside!    Drove down to the Zoo for our first visit to the giraffes in 2023.  Lots of other people to watch as we made our way around to see the Peacocks, the Rhino, an elephant, meerkats, Lemur, the flamingos, the lion, and even the big bear up close!   William, in his cute little romper, was happy to say hello and wave at everyone.  Happy boy.  Daddy was doing good work.   And I was ready for my reward.  Zoo Fries.  Yum!  Win for us both!
Great time to facetime in with Mama (who was settled into New York City for the rest of the day) - check in time=check.   Good for mama’s heart to see her happy baby boy mow down some ketchup and ice.   But this is where my planning was important.  Knowing he had that late nap, I knew Id need to do more to run out some energy and not just drive home.  So we walked Reid Park, and saw the ducks, visited a playground (he had little interest today). I could see the ball fields were busy and William noticed to.   All week, William has been pretty obsessed with his baseball and we wondered if he connected his “baseball” (a special one from Cooperstown) with the sport he hasn’t seen on TV for a few months....and then he answered it as he stood in his stroller, pointed at the fields off in the distance - “baseball!” I guess he does know.   So we wandered around the outfield fence trying to learn the way to the diamonds next to Hi Corbett Field where the UofA plays.  Covered some ground together finding our way around this place.  Should be spending more time here! What awesome soft green grass!  We found our way in, under a beautiful sunsetty sky and found 3 different travel high school games being played between the Tucson teams and a team from Washington state.   Very cool.   We stayed for over an hour watching the games (a long time for a Toddler!). Win again!
I pushed William right up behind the dugouts so he could get a close up view of the boys, and hear the sounds of the game and the coaching and the cheering.  He loved it. “Baseball” became the word of the rest of the day, and as soon as we got home, thats what he wanted to find.  He definitely connected the dots.   And for me it was fun too, to think about coming out here to watch more baseball this Spring -”I should look up the UofA schedule!”  I looked affectionately at the other baseball Dads there keeping track of the runs and the pitch counts.  I let him play in that great grass and he took advantage of that time to tackle me over and over and over....burn that energy buddy.  It was my favorite part of the day.
We strolled our way back to the car, and started the commute home, and he was asleep in his car seat before we were out of the complex. I watched in the rearview mirror as his head started to bob, glad I was able to push that out to get it logged as a really solid sleep. Successful Afternoon Nap= Check.
Whats next?  Home stretch! But my work isn’t done yet.  If I could get through the next 2.5 hours Id have a successful Dad day.  Had the quiet drive home to vision it out and reset again. Groceries, dinner, Spartans Basketball, bath and bed.  Lets have fun with this last little bit and get to the finish line!  Engage play and enjoy.  The secret weapon?  Butter and Noodles.  Take me home Noo Noos.
Before we knew it, he was fed, bathed and ready for a baba.  I whipped up a good combo that include butter and heavy cream, and he drank that right down as we looked at the Trucks book and read Booby Moon together as we talked about wanting to get some good sleep tonight.  It wasn’t the easiest goodnight.  Every time I put him down he was right back up like he hadn’t been out cold moments before! He’s been doing that a lot the past week for both of us, but I stayed calm and patient.  “You having trouble going to sleep?” I asked.  “yass” he answered.  “Its ok, Im here with you, for as long as you need. And even when I step out, I’ll come right back if you call me.  We’ll do this together.”   I bopped him to the finisher song, I’ll Be Around, and laid him down quietly.  He held still. I think I got him this time. ...  waaaiiittt.....  He quietly whimpered “mama” then “night night” - deep sigh, and that was it. Id made it to the end.  Check.  Win!
Donald Miller writes about a “good story” having a very simple formula:  A character that wants something and overcomes conflict to get it.  My fatherhood story here hasn’t been easy or natural. We’ve had some bumps.  But here we are, the story still being written.   I haven’t just left it at “this is impossible” - that wouldn’t be a very good story at all, for anyone; most of all William.   So as the plot takes shape, Ive had to work harder at it and these weekends on my own are the inciting incident(s).  As each Thursday night rolls around, its time to accept the invite again.  If I am going to have good days. - happy days - successful days, like today, its going to take a lot of effort. And I am sure as soon as I have it figured out, I’ll have to figure it out again.  I got great advice from Deni (Grammee) last week after the Friday morning tornado wiped me out;  “don’t get frustrated, just try something different.”  It takes a plan that is flexible enough to shake with his frenetic pace, and time to think of new and different things.  It takes more than just saying “that didn’t work” - but instead “what am I going to do if this doesn’t work?” - its not enough for me to know the play, its about “whats the next play?”
Each weekend, I learn a little more and add some more skill. And the most important skill, is the importance of sequencing.  Its not enough to hope for an easy good night but what do I need to do from A to B in order to set him up to have an easy goodnight.   Audrie, in her love for both of us, simplified it down to “he just needs love.”  Sounds easy enough.  But knowing how I am going to deliver that love step by step through the day to keep up the positive momentum, thats the real game.  Before she left yesterday, we started something that I asked be a part of our weekly routine.  The pep talk.   We vision cast each of the days until she was back, including “what do you want for dinner Sunday night?”  We talked about whats been working recently and maybe what some new ideas are for play and for food.  I am not good enough at this to just be able to run out the clock, and take it easy.  At least not yet.  Maybe one of these weekends in 2023 I’ll put together the perfect weekend, and get through from start to finish without even so much of a raised blood pressure.  Im not there yet, but I am getting there.  Days like today make me believe that I am on my way.  And who knows, maybe when I am done putting together this great story, I will be apply everything Ive learned to my own every day life and then we can laugh about the cliche, “who was teaching who?”
Song: Kenny Chesney - Get Along
Quote: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.” ― Brene Brown

Y/N’s P.O.V.
Shampoo, conditioner… Alright, next isle. What do I need from here?
I was so immersed in the domestic task of choosing my groceries that I barely saw where I was going. Really, it was only a matter of time until I hit someone and went down - which happened only five minutes later.
“Oh, I’m so sorry,” I scrambled to make it right, knowing how aggressive some people can be, even over something so stupid as this. “I didn’t see where I was going, it was my fault…”
But my words died out the second that I saw who it was that I had hit, the man still standing, offering me a firm hand to help me get up from the floor.
“Steve.” The name fell out of my lips instinctively, and it made the both of us flinch as I finally stood on my own two feet in front of him - not that it made that much of a difference. He always towered over almost everyone, anyway.
“Steve, hm… Hi,” I repeated his name, trying to make it sound normal, even though in the three years I’d been with him, I’d never addressed him as such. It was clear that he was thinking the same, his eyes darting between mine with a peculiar glint of reminiscence in them.
“Hi,” he greeted, voice softer than I expected it to be. He still hadn’t let go of my hand, and once my eyes fell on where we were both connected, he seemed to realize it, immediately letting it drop.
I tried to ignore the pang of sadness his reaction provoked in me.
“How have you been?” He tried to move past the awkward moment as I tried to wipe my sweaty hand as inconspicuously as possible. God, I hated this.
I’d never been a fan of small talk, but small talk with an ex that wasn’t really an ex because he used to pay you to be with him? Yeah, this wasn’t exactly top of my list of favorite things to do on a Friday night.
“I’ve been fine… Finished school, now I’m working for this little publishing house. Nothing major, but it makes me happy.” His eyes lit up at that, making a thousand little butterflies set flight in my stomach, and I averted my gaze as I cleared my throat to give me something else to focus on.
“That’s all I ever wanted for you.” I bit my lip to stop myself from doing something embarrassing, like bursting into tears in the middle of a supermarket. I didn’t know how to answer to that, so I decided to change the subject.
“You changed your hair.” Steve looked up as if he could see his own luscious strands, perfectly gelled back into the elegant look a CEO was expected to have. He seemed about to comment on the subject when a voice interrupted us.
“Daddy, daddy!” I saw the scene develop in slow motion, like a movie someone wanted me to pay particular attention to. The little boy - a perfect copy of Steve, or at least the Steve I met, with shorter, blonder hair, clean face - ran up to the man before me, who grimaced before he crouched to catch the boy in his arms.
“Hey, buddy.” He rubbed the boy’s back, but his eyes were fixed on me while my gaze was stuck on the kid. He had to be at least four years old. Which meant when Steve met me, he had already been born.
Another figure approached, this one tall enough to cast a shadow on  our paused conversation. “Sorry, I couldn’t contain him anymore. He’s hyped on sugar.” The brunette man gave an apologetic smile to Steve, who sighed.
“You’re the one who fed him donuts all day.” But the guy only shrugged, no guilt in his features. “Huh, Y/N, this is Bucky, my childhood best friend.” But I knew who he was. I knew all about him because I knew all of Steve’s secrets - or so I thought.
Because I didn’t know this. I didn’t know he cheated on someone with me.
Bucky seemed to feel the weight of the tension between us because he looked from Steve to me before reaching to take the boy again. “Let’s go over here, bud. I think I saw a claw machine.”
I was still so shocked that as the two of them left, I could only blink at Steve, who seemed to be waiting some sort of reaction from me.
“After his mother left me, I didn’t really have the time to worry about things like getting a haircut,” he tried to joke when he got tired of waiting, maybe hoping to ease the mood.
“It’s fine.” I cleared my throat again, finally snapping out of it as I searched for my cart again. “Uh, you look great. I should go now.” I was about to turn around and go back in the direction I’d come from when his hand seized my wrist.
“Wait,” he asked, making me freeze. “I- God, let me just…”
“It’s fine,” I interrupted, giving him what I hoped would translate as a polite smile, trying to pass it off as if what I said was true. “You don’t owe me an explanation.” But even as I said it, I could feel my anxiety through the roof, my need to sit down and analyze this almost overbearing.
And still, Steve’s grip kept me in place, his tone serious as he asked me, “So why do I feel like I do?” I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding, a shaky, nervous breath. I tried to smile, brushing my hair out of my face while he continued, “Look, Y/N… You still affect me greatly.”
He didn’t need to say it, his look was enough to make me aware that he knew I could say the same about you. “I don’t want you to think less of me.” Weirdly, I didn’t.
But I never got the chance to say it. Out of the corner of our eyes, we caught the familiar figures of his friend and his son approaching, and so he let me go, a sigh as he buried his hands in his pockets and commented, “I wish we had more time to catch up.”
I watched him carefully as I thought about my next move. I could let this go. I could say ‘yeah, but it was nice seeing you’, turn around and go back to my ordinary life. But now that I was here, in front of him, I didn’t want to go back to missing his presence in my life.
“Alright, I’m not gonna lie.” My eyes narrowed but I kept a teasing smile on my lips so he knew I wasn’t actually against the idea. “This sounds like one of your lines to get me to meet you at a coffee shop.”
The half-smile he opened up was at the same time boyish and seductive. “How about a restaurant?”
Jokingly huffing, I rolled my eyes as I complained, “Steeeeve!”
We both paused. The tone sounded too much like the one I employed when I was being bratty. But back then, I had never addressed him as anything other than daddy. As his actual child approached with the nickname on his lips, I bit my lip while watching him once again lean down to pick the little boy up.
“I’ll call you.” The look he sent me had shivers running down my spine, making me aware that as much as it was a promise, it might offer me all of the consequences of a threat.
Steve’s P.O.V.
She didn’t leave my mind for a single second ever since that night. I was eager to see her again - desperate for it, even. I knew there was so much I needed to tell her, stuff she deserved to know but I couldn’t explain back then.
I also missed her terribly. There hadn’t been a single day since I broke it all off that I hadn’t wondered how she was, if she was okay. I was glad she had managed to graduate and get her life together, but selfishly, I found myself wishing for the days when she still depended on me.
To my relief, she didn’t change her mind when I actually called to settle on a date, taking advantage of Bucky’s visit to leave Luke with him. She didn’t sound particularly excited about it, but I guess that much was understandable. In many ways, I was sort of an ex, and we both knew there were too many uncomfortable questions hovering over our heads to be able to ignore it when we were alone together.
So I was grateful when she took the first step and asked me, her eyes settled on her glass of wine. “Was it because of me?” We hadn’t spoken about the divorce ever since I picked her up, admiring the way she looked in the dark green dress, her legs teasing me from the slit on the side, and still I knew exactly what she was referring to.
I took a sip of my own glass of wine to find the courage to face this conversation, not because the subject hurt me, but because I was so desperate for one particular outcome. So I knew I had to play this carefully.
“No,” I admitted, connecting my eyes to hers so she could see the honesty in them. “My relationship was damaged enough already. You weren’t the reason for my divorce.”
Her shoulders relaxed after my initial explanation. I watched her breathe deeply after it, taking it in, accepting the truth deep in her bones. It felt good to let it out. It made me hopeful for the both of us.
But if I truly wanted this to end up the way I hoped, I knew I had to keep being honest, even though it was hard. “She was the reason why I broke it off with you, though.”
Her eyes widened at my confession, but other than surprise, I couldn’t really tell what other emotions she was feeling at that moment. So I kept opening my heart to her, in the hopes it’d make her see how much I missed our time together.
“I regret it ever since.” Our gazes remained locked for a significant moment before it all felt too real and too heavy and she averted her eyes, looking away before settling on the wine in front of her once more.
I wish I could just lean over and kiss her, worship her body the way I was able to. For all the happiness Luke brought to my life, I’d never forgive Natalie for making me leave Y/N because even if I had decided to give my marriage another chance back then, I already knew it was doomed to fail.
I knew it because I knew I was in love with the girl sitting in front of me.
I wondered if she still tasted the same. My gaze traveled down her body, as far as I could see considering the table between us, taking advantage of the pause in the conversation to drink in every delicious inch of her.
I was desperate to know. And I was not a man used to feeling desperate. So I adjusted myself on my seat, trying to keep myself comfortable despite the quickly hardening member between my legs, licking my lips before commenting, “I have to say… I’m finding incredibly difficult to be near you right now.”
“Why?” She quickly questioned, seizing the opportunity I presented to escape the heavy moment we had inadvertently fallen into. But she didn’t realize it was a trap - not until I opened the smirk I was trying to hide.
“Because I can’t help but think of all the times I’ve had you naked underneath me.” It was a calculated move, even though there was some risk to it. As a business man, I knew there was risk behind every valuable action.
And no action was as valuable as getting her back to me. When she averted her gaze and giggled, clearly flustered by my comment, I knew I’d managed to hit the jackpot and the overwhelming feeling of relief had me inhaling deeply.
“You always enjoyed my teasing, huh?” I pressed on, leaning over the table so I could speak lower and still have her listen to what I was saying. “Don’t you want me to ravish you right here, right now, baby? Show everyone in this restaurant who owns you?”
She was breathing heavily now, eyes sparkling with excitement and lust - I had no doubt that I looked the same. The silence now was just as powerful, but much more exciting as I waited for her move now.
“Take me home.” It finally came. “Right now.” A victorious smile took over my face as I stood up and reached for her hand, throwing some money on the table to cover for whatever expenses we had made.
“I love that you’re still as impatient for me as I am for you, princess.”
Y/N’s P.O.V.
He brushed the hair away from my face as he cradled it with his huge palms, making me breathe hard just by the sheer reminder of how big everything about him was. “I need you to be sure,” he spoke against my lips, warm breath raising chills all over me. “I need to know that you truly want this.”
And I did. I truly, honestly, did. He made me feel things that I had never felt with anyone before or after I was with him and I wanted another taste - even if it was the last one I’d ever have.
“I want this,” I assured him, and that was all there was to it. He had to bend down to kiss me and I always found that endearing, but right then, after so many years without his taste on my lips, hunger was quickly taking control of the sweeter part of me. “I want you.”
His hands travels down my back until they reached my ass, but just palming it over my dress wasn’t enough for Steve. Quickly, they fell even lower, until he was able to hold the back of my thighs and pull me up to wrap my legs around his body.
It always amazed me how he was able to do this. Now that he had me in his arms, he held me by my ass, lips never separating from mine as he tried to make his way into my apartment without having to open his eyes.
“I think this would be easier if you let me walk,” I giggled, hiding my face in the crook of his neck as he groaned.
“All this effort to keep kissing you and you leave me hanging just to mock me?” More laughter escaped from me, a warm feeling in my chest at the realization that being with him was just as comfortable. We could still joke around while making out. In some ways, it was like nothing had changed at all.
When he deposited me on the floor again, we were by my bed now. For a second, Steve just stood there, looking me up and down, towering over me while I waited with bated breath.
“What do you call me, sweetheart?” I hadn’t heard that question in so long, it elicited shivers down my spine, my mouth falling open in a quiet gasp as he took my face in between his hands again.
“Daddy,” I was quick to answer, knowing Steve was not a patient manl. After all the time we spent apart, I could only imagine how little control he would have now that he was so close to fucking me again.
Steve nodded, tongue running over his lower lip before he leaned over me to kiss me once more. This time, he slipped his tongue inside of my mouth, taking control of our movements sensuously as I melted in his arms.
“Daddy wants to punish you, baby.” Those were the first words he spoke to me after we parted, in need of some oxygen despite our desires. Before I could ask for clarification, he provided it for me, “I know you didn’t do anything wrong, but I need this.”
“I promise I’ll make it feel good for the both of us.” It was a vow he didn’t need to voice. I believed it wholeheartedly. And I understood his request. He needed to release the angst of our separation, the overwhelming excitement of our encounter.
I could grant him that. With a nod, I stood on my tiptoes to deposit a kiss on his lips, sealing the deal. “Don’t let me hurt you, okay?” He pleaded, thumbs brushing over my cheekbones, but I could only smile.
“I want it to.” The most predatory smirk slowly spread over Steve’s lips, his eyes sparkling that dangerous dark glint that had me panting in anticipation.
“I’d forgotten how truly perfect for me you are.” The comment would have hurt if I had been granted any time to dwell on it, but Steve would never allow me that. No, he wanted to fuck me stupid, make me forget every single scar he’d ever given me.
And I was hungry for that.
In a quick move, with the ease of someone with years of practice, he got me rid of my dress and bent me over the bed, offering my ass to himself.
“God, you’re too sexy.” I was wet already, almost enough to drip down my thighs, so it wasn’t surprising that he shoved two fingers at once, setting a bruising pace right against my sweet spot.
I couldn’t believe after all this years he could still find it without any effort.
He pulled those digits off of me all of a sudden, leaving me empty, making me whine. His next comment explained me why. “So fucking sweet,” he moaned around his fingers and just the thought of it had me clenching around nothing, desperate to be stretched again.
He seemed to read my mind because he quickly returned to my pussy - with just one finger this time, his longest one, and it was in and out quickly.
The second I felt that same digit push against my puckered hole, I knew why. He also slipped his cock into me, penetrating me twice at the same time and it was all so debauched it had me moaning loudly to my empty room.
“You won’t be able to walk when I’m done with you,” Steve warned once he was knuckle deep and bottomed out inside of me, free hand pulling me by my neck so he could whisper against the shell of my ear. “And you know why?”
He waited for me to answer, but all I could do was nod, heart beating madly against my chest, breath coming out of my open mouth. All of my senses seemed reduced to one thing and one thing only: the feeling of Steve’s cock stretching me out, filling me up.
“Because I want you to depend on me again.” The words had me gasping, especially since he paired them with his first thrust - a harsh thrust - and started to fuck me nice and deep and hard. “I want you to depend on me for everything.”
This shouldn’t make me so wet, should it? I prided myself on being self-sufficient, in the sense that I was able to work for everything I wanted in life - even when I needed to become a sugar baby to put myself through college. That was my decision. I could have stopped at any time and chosen another way to do that, and once Steve left my life, that’s precisely what I did.
But there was something to be said about the idea of not having to worry about anything. I didn’t feel guilty that I relished in it, in knowing this strong, handsome man wanted to provide me with everything I needed in life and make every decision for me, taking away all of the difficulties I could ever face.
It was a nice fantasy, and I could allow the both of us that reprieve.
Steve’s P.O.V.
“I want to own you,” I growled, possessiveness getting even more out of hand at her answering moan. It was obvious that the idea got her off and although we’d need to talk about how much truth there was in what I was saying, for the moment this was more than enough. Just knowing that the idea didn’t repulse her - that in some degree, she still wanted to be completely mine - was all I needed to feel the ambers of desire grow inside of me.
“Tell me, princess…” I panted over her, slowing my movements to hear her whine and witness the way she tried to fuck herself back against me, like she was truly desperate for my cock. “Did anyone touch what was mine?”
She didn’t answer me, and that was really everything I needed to know. Of course, I didn’t blame her for dating after spending so much time apart, but I also couldn’t help the pang of jealousy, my mind racing as images of her underneath someone else threatened to break me.
“Pathetic little slut,” I snarled, covering her throat with my hand as I resumed my forceful thrusts. “Spreading your legs to whomever can fill you… You just need to cum, don’t you? It doesn’t even matter if the person is any good at it, you just can’t help yourself.”
Her thighs trembled on each side of my body, denouncing her orgasm. I pulled her back to cover her mouth with mine, swallowing her screams so I could feed on them as we shared a kiss.
“No one can fuck you this good, baby.” It was a statement born more out of insecurity than the need to remind her of that, so the fact that she immediately began to nod, small little sounds of praise falling from her lips helped me find my confidence again. “No one understand what you need, isn’t that right?”
“Just you, daddy,” she was quick to answer. “Only you can make me cum. Please make me cum again, I want to drench your dick in my cum, daddy.”
“Holy fuck,” I cursed, having forgotten how nasty she could get when she fell deep into subspace, right when her cunt began clenching around me again. “No one feels this good, fuck,” I realized, hips stuttering for a second as I tried to control myself. “You’re always so good and tight.”
Her moans were driving me fucking insane. I gripped the meat of her ass to pull her back to me, knowing I was so fucking close to drive us both over that edge.
“Yes, princess,” I groaned when her moans became more high-pitched. “Scream for me, c’mon.” She came with a desperate cry that had me tempting to spill inside of her, but before I could do that, I had to ask, “Can I cum inside of you?”
Her pause warned me of what I already anticipated. She wasn’t on any birth control and the knowledge had me throbbing inside of her, frenzied in my desire to fill her up.
“Do it.” Her words were barely over a whisper, but there wasn’t any hesitancy on them. “Cum inside me.” A groan escaped my chest upon hearing her say that, so I had to hear it again.
Y/N’s P.O.V.
“Beg me for it,” he ordered, massaging my ass with those huge palms of his. He’d never done this before - we had never done this before. Risky sex wasn’t a part of the deal, and now I knew why.
“P-put a baby in me,” I voiced my deepest desire, the one I had hidden in the safe box where I kept our memories for so long. “Make me a mom, daddy. Please.”
The growl he let out at my addition was barely even human, as was the way he fucked me like this was his last hour on Earth and the last pussy he’d ever get to fuck
“Thank me for it, baby,” was his last command, right before his hips lost their rhythm and he gave me what I’d been asking for.
“Yes, thank you, daddy!” I screamed, the feeling of his warmth eliciting another small high for me, leaving me breathless. “Thank you,” I repeated, fingers at last relaxing to let go of the duvet I’d been gripping.
Sleep was welcoming me into its familiar arms with surprising speed, right as another pair set their grip around my body, pulling me into a hard yet gentle chest.
I guess you never really stop loving someone, do you?
Steve’s P.O.V.
I woke up startled after what felt like merely minutes, the absence of her weight resting over me heavy in all of the emptiness it left behind.
“Princess?” My hands reached over the spot by my side. She wasn’t there. I sat up on the bed in an instant, eager to find her near me. She couldn’t have left me alone in her apartment, could she? She knows better than that. She knows I’d wait for her to get back, however long that might be.
I found her in the kitchen, sitting in one of the counters with a glass of water in her hands and I wouldn’t have found the image so terrifying if it weren’t for two things.
She wasn’t wearing my shirt, which meant she had consciously decided to choose something to wear and didn’t want that something to be mine.
And her eyes were very clearly red when she raised her gaze to meet mine.
And still, I asked, “Why did you leave?”, standing by the threshold as I stared back at her, terrified of taking a step closer and scaring her away. When she averted her gaze, I already knew I wouldn’t like her answer.
“I can’t be the one being left again.” My heart shattered into a million pieces at her confession, much like it had done that evening so many moons ago when I closed the door behind me and walked out of her life, knowing I’d never be able to keep her off my mind.
My legs acted on their own accord, taking me closer to her so I could cradle her face, offer her some comfort. “Oh, sweetheart, no,” I whispered, running my thumb over her cheekbone before kissing her for an instant, hoping in that instant she’d come to understand how much she meant to me. “I don’t want to leave you again. I’m not going to,” I assured her before adding quietly, “not unless you ask me to.”
She accepted my proximity for a little bit before gently pushing me away. The second her skin wasn’t near mine, I felt cold and alone, despite her being right there.
“We don’t even know each other anymore, Steve.” She continued to avoid my eyes. “It’s been years.” It was the truth, even though it hurt me to admit it. But…
“I don’t care,” I stated, crossing the distance she had placed between us. “Please, let me make this right,” I begged, reaching out for her once more. “Let’s go on another date, whatever you need.”
Pressing kisses to her shoulder, I hugged her to me, unwilling to part from her warmth. “I promise this time will be different,” I assured her. “It’ll be so much better.”
Her fingers ran down my chest before she accepted my hug, making me shiver in excitement. “I want to date you, baby,” I repeated, voice a bit mumbled from keeping my lips pressed against her skin. “Just… come back to bed, okay? Let me wake up with you in my arms tomorrow, and from then on, we can figure it out.”
I pulled away to look into her eyes and she stared back into mine. I held my breath in anticipation, nervously waiting for any reaction until finally, she nodded.
“Okay.”

Truth Serum
Hello everyone! My name is Amber and I’m not new to writing however I am new to actually posting my writing but recently I really got back into Loki with all the trailers dropping and stuff and I’ve had so many ideas crossing my mind so I figured I’d write some of my ideas out and post them here! Honestly this is my first time writing for Loki so he might be a bit OOC until I really get him under my buckle! This piece doesn’t have a lot of Loki in it because I’m also testing out writing with more than two people getting focus so I apologize in advance but I’ll probably write the 2nd piece tomorrow where Loki confronts ‘you’. Enjoy! Gif not mine!
Tumblr media
You had just finished sweeping and mopping in Tony’s lab because there was glass on the ground. The only abnormal thing was that there was opalescent liquid in-between all the broken glass, your guess was that it must have been in some vial for safe keeping meaning you should have been careful.
Should. Key word right there.
Realizing you had gotten some of the mystical liquid on yourself you quickly finished up cleaning then found Tony who was visiting with Steve in the living room.
“Tony, Tony, Tony,” You incessantly said in a sing song voice as you approached, “Heya, Stevo.”
“Look there was a broken vial in your lab and you know I was down there for my blueprints and while cleaning said broken glass the liquid might have touched my skin....”
Tony frowned and Steve’s eyes widened and looked at Tony.
“Listen just tell me if I’m dying or not?”
Tony stood there staring at your face for another few seconds before you literally saw the realization hit him like a bus. Tony smiled.
“You know I’ve always had this question in the back of my brain since you said your blueprints were apparently....’Only meant for clearance level 10s’ I think I remember you saying...”
You frowned at Tony and shrugged, “I mean...no one is level 10 so don’t be offended...What does that have to do with this?”
“What exactly are those precious blueprints?”
You were going to give a witty remark but suddenly it was like word vomit and you couldn’t stop the next words from flowing out of your mouth, “They’re a new helmet I’m making for Loki that include audio, kinda like headphones, so he can listen to his favorite Mid-guardian books while on missions with us.”
Tony smirked which then turned into a full on smile before letting out a laugh. Steve looked at you with a confused puppy look on his face. You, unfortunately, realized what that liquid was.
“Tony I swear to God if that liquid I touched was a truth serum I’m literally going to castrate you!”
Tony, still laughing, put his hands up in a surrendering way and shook his head.
“I’m not the one that decided to clean up a mysterious liquid in my lab, of all places, without proper cleaning gear!”
At this point everyone in the room was looking at you three. Natasha and Clint were on one couch in the living room, Loki sat with his legs criss cross, back to the window overlooking NYC, and Wanda and Vision sat on the opposite couch from Natasha and Clint. The only two missing were Thor and Bruce. Much to your luck as you looked around at everyone, you realized they all overheard Tony because they all had mischievous smirks crossing their faces.
“STOP! I’ll answer questions BUT nothing too personal please...” You said putting on your best puppy eyes and giving an exasperated sigh. Surprisingly enough you looked at your crush, Loki, and saw he was the only one without a mischievous smirk, for once. He did however put down the book he had been reading and instead had a focused look on his face as he played with the green magic floating between his hands. No one else paid him any mind though.
“Who’s your favorite Avenger?” Natasha shot out leaning back into the couch with a smirk.
“Tony.”
“YES!” Tony shouted pumping a fist into the air.
“Why?” Natasha asked.
“Because he’s like a dad to me, not to mention he makes us really cool gear meaning I don’t have to slave away in the lab by myself anymore.” You rolled your eyes as you finished the sentence. Tony beside you pulled you into a gut crushing hug and said, “Awe, FRIDAY can you put up adoption papers on my computer in the lab and set a reminder to fill them out later today?”
“Tony, stop, God, you’re embarrassing.” You pushed from his hug, blushing.
“For some reason I’m not really surprised.” Nat said shrugging.
You giggled and made your way to the middle of the room, taking a seat in an available love seat, Tony and Steve coming to stand behind it.
Next Wanda sat up with an excited look on her face and asked, “Who do you think is the strongest Avenger?”
Thor walked in and gave a hearty chuckle, “Me, of course!”
“No, actually, I think it’s a tie between you, Wanda, and Loki.”
“What, no no, surely you’re mistaken, dear?” Thor said now chuckling nervously.
Steve smiled over to him and shrugged, “No, Thor, she accidentally touched a truth serum, this is as honest as she’ll ever be buddy.”
“Why am I one of the strongest Avengers?” Loki asked, his hands still playing with the magic but his complete attention on you.
“Your magic may not be on Wanda’s par, at least what I know about it, but you’ve endured quite the amount of emotion grief and came out on top so I guess I see you as the strongest, emotionally...” You finished with a wince since it kind of aired out Loki’s dirty laundry and was a bit mushy if you were being honest. Loki hummed but went back to focusing on his magic.
Thor frowned then a happy look over took his face, “Are you in love with anyone in the room?”
“Whoa!”
“Thor!”
“Wait, Thor!”
You laughed out loud and let the answer go freely, unconsciously glancing back to Loki who wasn’t looking at you but had a raised brow and seemed to only be half focusing on the green magic cloud in his hands, “Yes.”
“Thor buddy that’s a bit personal.” Tony said, an eyebrow raised in a disappointed dad sort of way.
“My apologies!” Thor said making his way to the kitchen, “I hear a Poptart calling my name, perhaps a smores today.”
“Is it fair to say we may ask questions about this love interest considering it’s one of us?” Vision asked with a vexed look on his face.
Loki cleared his throat and everyone gave him attention, “Perhaps we should keep that as a restricted topic considering she did say nothing too personal?”
You weighed the pros and cons in your head, while you were nervous for Loki to find out it was him maybe this was the way to get it out in the open. Lord knows you would take advantage of it considering every time you spoke with Loki nowadays you turned into a blabbering mess and tended to leave every conversation read in the cheeks from fluster and embarrassment.
“I don’t mind you asking questions but don’t out right ask me his name.” You said deciding to get this over with.
“Well we can cut out Natasha and Wanda then.” Tony said catching onto you saying him. “Reindeer games what on Earth are you doing anyways?”
Loki glanced at Tony and smirked, “Nervous?”
Tony frowned and backed up a bit, “You know, I wasn’t but I am now...”
Loki chuckled and went back to focusing on his magic flowing freely between his fingers and pulsing between his hands now, “Nothing that will harm anyone, Stark, don’t get your britches in a bunch.”
You smiled at Loki then looked around at everyone, “Ok, hit me!”
“I know you said don’t ask a name but you did just say Tony was a father figure I was hoping you didn’t...” Clint started and ended softly with fear in his eyes.
Seeing as it wasn’t a full question you didn’t feel word vomit coming up but decided to play around with Clint since he never ceased to prank you all the time.
“I might have a daddy kink...” You said looking up at Tony, trying your best to give him a lustful look but couldn’t hold in your laughter when Clint started gagging, “No, Clint, it’s not Tony.”
You laughed a bit when you heard Tony let out a heavy sigh of relief. You then brought a hand up and covered your giggle when Clint said a tiny, “Oh thank god.”
“I swear, it better not be Vision, he’s mine!” Wanda said suddenly with wide eyes.
“Not vision.” You responded.
You could feel Tony’s fingers behind you rhythmically tapping on the leather love seat, showing his growing impatience.
“It’s not Steve, Tony.” You said trying to placate the man since he had told you in confidence that he was trying to find a good way to ask the man out.
“You realize that only leaves Clint...and me, right?” Loki said with an unsure smirk. You gave the man a smile and stood up. Loki had finally finished playing with his magic, halfway through you realized what he had been doing seeing as you felt the truth serum slowly letting up in you. He had finally worked out the chemicals from your system and you were back to normal.
“Unfortunately I’m not outright telling you all who it is, if you haven’t been paying attention to me recently that’s on you.” You said before heading towards the kitchen, Loki still smirking as he watched you walk away.
“I feel a smores Poptart calling my name too.”
After you had disappeared Clint cleared his throat and looked at Loki, “It’s totally me, sorry i mean have you seen these guns, Loki? You have nothing on me.”
Loki chuckled and picked his book back up, “I think I have more to offer than you think Clint, but keep telling yourself it’s you if it helps that mortal brain of yours sleep at night.”

Wanda x reader x Vision
After Wanda and Y/N's newly discovered pregnancies, the three had decided to call Westview's doctor for a home visit.
Doctor Neilson was a balding man, who's opinions were on the misogynistic side.
"Yep! Definitely pregnant. Both of you." The doctor determined after having pressed a stethoscope to both women's stomachs.
"Believe it or not, we actually figured that out already," Y/N said, shaking her head once the man's back was to her.
"This has just kinda taken us by surprise," Wanda explained, one hand clutching Visions and the other on Y/N's thigh.
"It's just kinda sudden. Quite suddenly, wasn't it. I mean, practically overnight. I mean, how did this even happen?" Vision stammered, causing the doctor to stare at him blankly.
"You see when a man, a woman, and a woman love each other very much."
"Well, we're just tickled pink or blue!" Wanda joked, interrupting the doctor, as the three rose from the couch.
"You're at about four months now. Is that accurate for the two of you?" He asked, receiving nods from both women.  "I thought as much. We like to let the little ladies keep tabs on their growing babes with fruit." Neilson told Vision. "Makes it simple for them. At four months, the fetus is about as big as a pear. At five months, papaya. Six grapefruit, seven pineapple, and eight honeydew."
"So we both have pears?" Y/N questioned.
"You both have pears." The doctor confirmed with a nod. "The three of you must have been planning for months to sync the pregnancies up like this." He added with a chuckle.
"Hypothetically speaking, what size fruit would it be at say twelve hours?" Vision asked, causing the doctor to blanch.
"Pardon? Twelve hours?"
"Well, I think this line of questioning is fruitless." Wanda cut in with a forced polite laugh as she moved to stand beside the doctor.
"Hypothetically speaking, should we be concerned?" Vision asked, rounding the back of the couch, holding Y/N's hand in his.
"Hypothetically speaking, every new father-to-be gets nervous." The doctor patronized, slapping a hand on Vision's neck.
"Well, I have nerves of steel, so there goes your theory, Mr. Doctor." Vision said, pulling away from the man.
"Vis, why don't you see the doctor out?" Y/N suggested, wrapping her arm around her husband's waist.
"That sounds like a great idea." Wanda agreed, nodding at the two with a smile.
"Of course." Vision nodded. "Thank you so much for dropping by Doctor Neilson." He said, leading the doctor out of the house as Wanda and Y/N smiled at one another.
"Well, I'm just glad you caught me in time." The doctor commented once outside. "I'm taking the wife on vacation this afternoon."
"Oh, well, I hope you have a nice holiday," Vision told the man. "Hey, Herb!" Vision called to their neighbor.
"Listen, can you keep the news of the girls, you know, just between us?" Vision asked the doctor. "It's that everything's happening so quickly, and we'd like to keep the news just in the family now."
"Of course. Mum's the word." The doctor assured. "I'm off! Bermuda, baby!"
"Yes." Vision waved Neilson off before he was distracted by the loud sound of machinery to his right. "Hey Herb, I think you might've taken the hedge-trimming a little too far there, old chum!" Vision joked, watching as his friend cut into his brick wall.
"So, I have." Herb laughed, continuing his brickwork. "Thanks, buddy."
"Yeah, don't mention it." Vision said slowly, gnawing on his lip before turning away. "Huh. Darlings, the strangest thing just happened outside with, whoa Nelly!" Vision exclaimed when his wives turned around. "Are you both bigger?"
Wanda turned to look at her stomach but knocked the fruit bowl as she tried.
Vision sped over and caught the fruit before it hit the ground.
"What do you mean?" Y/N asked, looking down.
"I can't actually tell from this angle," Wanda said, gazing down.
"I can't even see my feet." Y/N sighed, looking up and at Wanda's own stomach. "Oh, God." She said, causing Wanda to look up.
"Yeah, we could be a little bigger." Wanda nodded, seeing the size of Y/N's stomach.
"I can't wait to be a proud papaya." Vision joked, proudly holding up the papaya.
"Not one of your best, Vis," Wanda told him with a grin.
"Ah, so you're admitting I'm funny?" Vision asked as Y/N took the fruit out of his hand and moved towards the kitchen.
"I don't think she ever said that." Y/N teased as Wanda followed her and stole the papaya out of her hands. "I'm not even sure those words have ever been uttered before."
"I've heard you laugh at my jokes before. At least once."
"That's because we didn't want to make you feel bad," Wanda said, cutting the papaya into small chunks.
"The first lesson we'll ever teach you, little ones, is to pretend that your daddy is funny," Y/N said to her bump, one hand on Wanda's.
"That seems rather dramatic, don't you think, darling?"
"No." Both women responded teasingly.
"You know what we should start soon?" Wanda questioned. "A nursery."
"I've noticed there are a large number of stores in the town square that cater towards babies and first-time parents." Vision informed the two.
"That's great! Perhaps we could go after lunch." Wanda suggested, snacking on the fruit before her.
"We'll need to make a list," Y/N suggested as she made herself a sandwich. "Of furniture, clothing, books, everything we'll need."
"I could write the list while you and Wanda have lunch." Vision proposed.
"That sounds like a plan." Wanda smiled at him sweetly.
"I'm gonna make myself a coffee first. Do you want a tea, Wand?" Y/N asked, grabbing a coffee cup.
"You might want to make a tea for yourself," Wanda said. "We can't have coffee while we're pregnant."
"None at all?" Y/N asked with wide eyes, causing both partners to nod. "You are so lucky I love you, little one," Y/N said to her bump.
Hours later, the three of you had returned from your shopping trip and were beginning to set up the nursery.
Vision was sat on the rocking chair, reading one of the many books on pregnancy he'd bought. Y/N was organizing the boxes of baby clothes,  all of which everyone agreed they'd needed. And Wanda was using her magic to set up the rest of the room.
The three of you had had a long conversation about the theme of the nursery, which room they would have, and whether or not you would need one or two. Eventually, the three of you had come to an agreement on the nursery's theme. And you had all decided that the babies could share a nursery.
"Nesting, the overwhelming urge during pregnancy to clean, organize and prepare the home for the new baby." Vision read.
"See? You're an expert already. We've got nothing to worry about." Wanda assured, floating a mobile out of its box.
"We have nothing to worry about? We have two babies due at the same time." Y/N said, folding a purple baby grow. "They're gonna team up against us."
"We also have to worry about morning sickness, mood swings, aching backs and feet." Vision read before jumping out of the chair. "Darlings, you should probably sit down."
"Don't be silly. We're fine." Y/N soothed the android. "Women do this all the time. This is a natural part of life."
"We're excited, Vis," Wanda said as Y/N moved to stand beside her. "There's no morning sickness or mood swings, just excitement. And happiness, and, oh!" Wanda gasped. Y/N's stomach had brushed against hers, and suddenly, both women felt kicking.
"Kicking already?" Vision asked, dropping his book and pressing one hand to each woman's belly.
"It feels so weird. In a good way." Y/N smiled her hand atop Visions.
"It's kind of fluttery." Wanda giggled, her eyes shining with happiness.
After Wanda said that, the three noticed a quiet flapping sound in the room and turned to see the butterfly mobile had turned into real butterflies.
"Did I do that? I didn't mean to." Wanda said as Y/N reached out for a blue butterfly.
"Uh? Darling?" Vision asked, leaning his nose out, where an orange butterfly sat. "Hello, little fella." Vision chuckled as Wanda moved it off his face. "Well, if that was the first kick," He started as Wanda opened the window, and Y/N caused a gentle breeze to push the insects from the room. "That puts you two at about six months!" Vision gasped.
"And I thought you had super speed," Y/N commented, closing the window.
"I just can't keep up." Vision sighed. "Please don't misinterpret." He said as Wanda moved to stand before him. "I can't wait to meet you, little Billy!" He cooed, leaning down to Wanda's stomach.
"Billy?" Wanda asked, her nose scrunching up.
"Yeah. I just figured with two pregnancies, the odds of having a boy are at fifty percent." Vision informed her.
"Well, I was just thinking Tommy for a boy. You know, a nice classical, all-American name." Wanda explained.
"Yeah, Tommy, but there's also Billy, isn't there?" Vision said, causing Y/N to giggle.
"After Shakesphere?" Y/N questioned, raising a brow.
"Of course! You know, "All the world's a stage. All the men and women, merely players." Vision quoted.
"Well, I guess there's only one solution. Leave it to Y/N," Wanda said, and the two turned to the woman who raised her hands.
"I like both names," Y/N said sagely. "But if it's a girl. I like Luna." She told the two.
"Well, we ought to decide soon. I estimate the babies are due, it's not a constant progression, assumingly logarithmic, but were I to graph the fetal development thus far," Vision muttered to himself while Y/N and Wanda shared fruit out of a bowl.
"They're going to be here before you figure it out," Wanda informed their husband.
"Nearest I can conclude is that Luna and Billy,"
"Luna and Tommy."
"Are due Friday afternoon." Vision concluded, looking slightly scared at the revelation.
"In three days?" Y/N gasped, eyes wide.
"Maybe we should sit down," Wanda said, rushing out to the living room with Y/N and Vision at her side.
Wanda and Y/N sat at the kitchen island, nursing cups of tea (to Y/n's disgruntlement) while Vision sat at the dining table, a baby doll in front of him.
"I think we have an understanding." Vision said, staring the doll down. "Start the clock." Vision stated, setting the toy down, and when Wanda pressed the timer, he began to change it at rapid speed. "Done!" He announced, raising his hands.
"A new personal best!" Y/N announced with a grin as Wanda clapped.
"Yes!" Vision exclaimed proudly. "We are nothing if not prepared."
"Ooh!" Wanda gasped, her hand flying to her engorged belly.
"Sweetheart?"
"Darling?"
"Do any of your books talk about this?" Wanda asked, gently rubbing her bump. "It's not painful, but it's strange."
"A tightening sensation?" Vision asked, grabbing a nearby book and flipping through the pages.
"Yep, that's it."
"Yes. Where was it? Where was it? Aha! "Braxton Hicks contractions, also known as false labor, usually starts in the third trimester. Named after John Braxton Hicks in 1875." Vision began to recite.
"Sweetheart." Y/N cut him off as Wanda stared at him unimpressed.
"Sorry." Vision apologized. "Are you feeling any similar sensations Y/N?" Vision asked, rising to his feet as Y/N nodded.
"I just thought it was the baby moving," Y/N told her partners.
"This is excellent! This gives us a chance to work on our breathing exercises." Vision said, now standing before both his wife's. "It should go like this." He added before demonstrating the breathing pattern.
Both women copied his breathing a couple of times, but it didn't work.
"I can still feel it," Wanda told him.
"I'm sorry."
"Oh!" Y/N gasped, her hand clutching onto the counter tightly as the room began to heat up.
"Honey, turning it up a bit too high," Wanda said, fanning herself at the sudden temperature rise.
"I'm sorry, I just got so warm all of a sudden," Y/N said, wiping her forehead.
"Many women experience a change in temperature during pregnancy." Vision said before Wanda let out a loud grunt.
And that was the chaos began.
The kitchen tap began to run on high, the lights flickered, the fridge rattled, and the washing machine shook. All the while, the temperature remained ungodly warm.
"What the Dickens?"
"Oh, it's so warm."
"What is going on?"
"I think we should perhaps abandon the kitchen." Vision suggested, grabbing both women's hands and pulling them out of the moving kitchen.
The three made it into the dining room when the lights began to get brighter and brighter until they all burst.
The three were now standing back to back, hands raised and ready to defend themselves when everything got quiet.
"It stopped," Wanda whispered, afraid if she spoke too loudly, it would start again.
"Good," Y/N said as her body temperature and the room got cooler.
"I'll go check on the neighbors." Vision volunteered before rushing from the house.
As it turns out, the neighborhood did experience the after-effects of the women's contractions.
The weather had changed from a spring day to what felt more like a summer's day.
And many homes had lost their power.
"It appears the whole block is out." Vision informed the two as he reentered the house. "Oh, and be prepared to hear about the abnormal weather change."
"And all that was just from fake contractions." Wanda shook her head.
"Who knows what damage we'll cause when the show really gets rolling?" Y/N asked rhetorically.
"Do you think they know it's our fault?" Wanda asked Vision.
"Our neighbors?" Vision confirmed.
"Well, yes. With all the close calls we've been having, it seems the people of Westview are always on the verge of discovering our secret." Wanda explained, causing both her partners to stop.
"Yes, I know what you mean." Vision murmured.
"But it's more than that, isn't it?" Y/N wondered as she and Vision sat beside Wanda on the couch.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hart with dinner. Outside with Herb." Vision mused.
"The thing with Dottie," Y/N added.
"I think there's something wrong here, darlings," Vision told his wives.
"I don't think you're wrong." Y/N agreed while Wanda stared between the two.
"Yes, I know what you mean." Vision murmured. "The truth is, we are in uncharted waters." He said as he and Y/N sat beside Wanda on the couch. "And you know what? I am as anxious as you both."
"We just don't know what to expect," Wanda said, getting nods from both her partners.
"Nope." Vision agreed.
"Will they be human or come out red and gold?" Y/N asked, causing Wanda to smile. "Or will they be a bit of both?"
"If they're anything like their mothers Luna and Billy will be perfect." Vision promised.
"You mean Tommy." Wanda corrected with a smirk.
"Maybe."
Before the argument over baby names could continue, Wanda let out a loud gasp, causing Vision and Y/N to jump to their feet.
"Oh no, darling, are you all right?" Vision gasped, staring at Wanda with panic in his eyes.
"This is a real one!" Wanda exclaimed, leaning back on the couch.
"What?"
"I thought you said Friday afternoon!" Wanda demanded as Y/N kneeled in front of her placed a hand on Wanda's bump.
"Well, I didn't consider that the timings between developmental benchmarks could be quite random!" Vision defended himself as he began to float in the middle of the living room.
"Both of you need to calm down!" Y/N snapped, rubbing Wanda's stomach gently. "Breathe, both of you." She added before demonstrating the breathing techniques Vision had taught them.
Wanda began to follow along, and when both women turned to face him, Vision copied them.
As he centered himself, Vision was able to control his flight and stand on his own two feet. Wanda and Y/N, who needed help up, moved to stand in front of their husband took one of his hands each.
"Better?" Wanda asked, pressing Vision's hand to her stomach.
"Yes, darling, thank you, it's passing." Vision nodded as lightning cracked, and it began to pour in the living room.
"Oh, that's me." Y/N gasped, looking down. "I think my water broke."
"What?" Wanda and Vision gasped, now both soaked from head to toe.
"Why didn't you say you were feeling contractions?" Vision demanded as he pulled both women under a table.
"I wasn't!" Y/N exclaimed before letting out a whine, hand flying to her stomach. "I was fine until I touched Wanda's stomach!" She cried as Wanda took her hand and squeezed it gently.
"Do you think the babies are connected?" Wanda asked as Vision gently placed his hand on Y/N's stomach.
"There is a great possibility." Vision nodded. "It would explain why both pregnancies have been moving at the same rate." He said. "I'm sorry, but is there any chance you could stop the rain, please, darling?"
"I think I'm the one causing this now," Wanda said. "My waters broke."
"Well, I was just reading about the advantages of water birth." Vision joked.
Y/N crawled from under the table, and while knelt on the floor, she flicked her wrists and stopped the water flow.
"Oh, thank goodness." Wanda sighed.
"Let me help you up, dears." Vision said, crawling out of the table and helping both women to stand. "There we are."
"Oh, what a mess." Wanda gasped at the ruined furniture.
Wanda caused the sliding doors to fling open, and Y/N created a wind to dry off the three and their home.
"That's much better." Vision commented. Before he could say another word, both Y/N and Wanda were letting out groans and curling over, causing him to rush forward.
"Sweetheart, do you think it's time to,"
"Call the doctor." Vision nodded, rushing into the kitchen while Y/N pushed Wanda into a chair and sat herself.
"Yeah."
"Yes, I do, dear." Vision said, picking up the phone before slamming it down in anger. "Damn, the phones are down, too. I better run." He said, rushing towards the dining room. "Except he might have already left for vacation."
"What now?"
"At a time like this?"
"Well, in fairness, darlings, the babies are approximately nine months early." Vision tried to soothe the women. "I better leg it. Will you be alright?"
"Yeah." Wanda nodded, breathing heavily through her nose.
"Y/N?"
"We'll look after each," Y/N said with a nod.
"I will be back as soon as I can." Vision promised, pressing a kiss to both women's temples before speeding out of the house.
"Disguise!" Y/N and Wanda called, but Vision was already gone.
"You two really know how to make an entrance, huh?" Y/N joked before a chittering sound caused her to freeze.
"That's coming from the nursery," Wanda whispered, slowly rising to her feet and beginning to make her way to the room.
"Why are you going towards the scary noise?" Y/N quietly asked as she followed after her wife.
The two were slowly tiptoeing towards the room, barely breathing, as they tried to catch sight of the noisemaker.
DING DONG!
The doorbell rang loudly, causing both Y/N and Wanda to jump.
"Don't!" Y/N stopped her wife from getting the door. "No-one knows about this." She said quietly, gesturing to their bumps.
"Oh shoot!" Wanda sighed, rushing to the coat closest and causing two overcoats to float out.
When both women's bumps were significantly covered, Wanda opened the door to reveal Geraldine standing there with a smile.
"Wanda, Y/N, what's up?" She asked, looking the two up and down. "It's one hundred and ten degrees out. Are you making a fashion statement? Didn't you feel the temperature rise?" Geraldine asked, making her way into the house.
"Hi, Geraldine. You know, now is not really a good time." Wanda said apologetically.
"No, no, no, they're foxy. You'll have to let me borrow it sometime. Both of 'em." Geraldine said, talking about the coats both women were wearing. "But first, I gotta borrow a bucket."
"A bucket?" Y/N asked, cocking her head.
"Not to wear, to use." She clarified. "Somehow, all the pipes in my ceiling burst at once, and I gotta bail myself out," Geraldine told the two.
"I think you'll need more than one," Y/N commented.
"Just stay right here," Wanda told the woman. "We might have a couple in the kitchen. Y/N a little help?"
"Of course." Y/N nodded before the two ran off into the kitchen.
"I think they're just under the sink!" Wanda called before letting out a little scream at a painful contraction.
"Guys?"
"Everything's fine!" Y/N called out as Wanda's and her coat changed. "Just stay there!"
"Are you alright in there?" Geraldine asked.
"Yes! Everything's fine!" Wanda called.
"We're just looking!" Y/N added before letting out a loud grunt at her own contraction.
"I'll come help!" Geraldine offered, and Y/N and Wanda could hear her footsteps rushing towards them.
"No!" The two exclaimed.
"No, thank you." Wanda corrected, pulling off her coat, urging Y/N to do the same, and covering her stomach with a fruit bowl.
Geraldine entered the kitchen and made a beeline to the supply cupboard while Y/N grabbed a book from the counter and hid her stomach.
"Would you look at that?" Geraldine asked, turning to face the married women.
"What?"
"Fruit." Geraldine grinned, walking towards Wanda's fruit bowl. "Thank you!" She said, taking an apple and throwing it to herself.
"Well, good luck with the leak," Wanda said as she and Y/N attempted to usher Geraldine out of the house.
"Oh, thank, oh! Say girls, I have got a question for you two!" Geraldine said, moving to the couch. "You know how I've been working that temp job, right?" She wondered, taking a seat. "Well, my boss, Mr. Haddox, he was going crazy yesterday." She began to recount, but neither woman could focus on her words.
Neither woman could focus on Geraldine because right behind her, a stork was stalking around the room.
"Oh, look at me going on and on like you got all the time in the world." Geraldine sighed as she rose to her feet. "Let me go on and get out,"
"Wait, no!" Wanda exclaimed before Geraldine could turn around.
"Tell us all about the temp job!" Y/N demanded.
"There's my girls!" Geraldine smiled, sitting back down. "So yesterday, my boss, Mr. Haddox, was going crazy working on the new slogan for that new breakfast cereal. You know, the one with the little marshmallow moon men?"
"Yeah, of course." Y/N absent-mindedly agreed as she stared at the stork, walking around the living room.
"Right, so it's about ten minutes before the big presentation, and Mr. Haddox has got nothin'. Nothin', that is, except the worst case of hiccups I ever did see." Geraldine continued her story as Wanda tried to vanish the stork.
But nothing happened. The stork didn't disappear in the cloud of red smoke. Instead, the bird flapped its wings almost angrily at the attempt.
"I'm telling you he couldn't get one word out, let a whole pitch."  Geraldine laughed. "So I'm trying every trick in the book to help this poor man. I'm hidin' behind filing cabinets and jumpin' out when he least expects it, like, boo!" She exclaimed, causing Y/N to jump and Wanda to scream as she threw an orange at the stork.
"Jesus, you two." Geraldine sighed, clapping a hand to her chest.
The stork had run away after Wanda threw fruit at it, but it was now making loud chipering noises, causing Geraldine to jump to her feet.
"What was that?" Geraldine demanded, looking around the room fearfully.
"What was what?" Y/N deflected, tilting her head to the side.
"Did you not hear that?"
"I don't think I heard anything. Did you, Wanda?"
"No."
"It was like a chattering sound, like, um," Geraldine tried to explain.
"Oh, like a" Wanda made a chittering sound herself. "That was our new icemaker built right into the fridge." She lied.
Geraldine turned to face the kitchen before turning back with a smile.
"Oh! You're fancy." Geraldine complimented, settling back into her seat as Wanda and Y/N chuckled nervously. "Let me get back to this story." She said before launching back into her recount.
It was getter harder for Y/N and Wanda to hide the fact they were in labor. Both women were stifling grunts and whimpers, only managing to do so by clutching the other's hand tightly.
Vision had to be back soon, right?
"So now, at this point, I am helping Mr. Haddox do a handstand under the water cooler because you know why not try a little upside-down action. Drink those hiccups away. And wouldn't you know it, at that moment, in walks the client?"
"Oh no." Y/N gasped as the stork reentered the room.
"Oh yes. Oh yes." Geraldine nodded, oblivious to the bird beside her. "But you know me, girls, I keep my cool no matter what's goin' down. And I look at the client, and I look at Mr. Haddox's feet floating in the air next to me, and I look back to the client, and I say, "Gravity Os, launch into your day, the right way." Geraldine explains with a cackle, not noticing the stork pecking at her fish pants.  At her loud laugh and her shifting her legs, the stork runs away, back into the nursery.
"Oh, thank you!" Wanda laughs in relief as Y/N sank back into her chair with a sigh.
"Yeah, and that's what Mr. Haddox said right before he told me to clean out my desk," Geraldine said, taking a bite of her apple.
"Oh, Geraldine." Wanda gasped.
"Surely he didn't fire you?" Y/N asked, shaking her head at the idea.
Despite neither woman really listening to Geraldine's story, she was still their friend. And they would hate for her to be disappointed like that.
"Oh, sugars." Geraldine sighed before a grin fought its way onto her face. "He hired me!" She exclaimed.
"Oh!"
"Congratulations!"
"I landed a promotion!" Geraldine reiterated, standing with a wide smile. "And now that I've gone all corporate, I need some office supplies. Which brings me to my question. Do ya'll still keep those in your spare room?" She asked, moving towards the old spare room, now nursery.
As Geraldine moved towards the open room, Y/N and Wanda jumped to their feet, Wanda putting her fruit bowl down and Y/N dropping her book.
"Because I was hoping you wouldn't mind sharing with your good friend," Geraldine said, entering the nursery. The nursery where the stork had hidden.
"Is that what I think it is?" The woman asked, staring around the room with wide eyes.
"A stork, yes, we can explain," Wanda said but came up blank with an explanation.
"No, the cribs!" Geraldine exclaimed, looking at the two cribs with a smile.
But she never got her answer. Not that she really needed one as Y/N and Wanda let out loud grunts of pain.
"Oh shoot! I think it's time!" Y/N gasped, her hands flying to her bump as she hyperventilated.
"The babies are coming." Wanda panted.
"You're pregnant? You're both pregnant?" Geraldine asked, staring at her friend's now exposed stomachs in shock.
"Oh God, where's Vis?"
Vision was still running around town. One thing he'd forgotten to do before having left home was to check for Dr. Neilson's address.
Dr. Neilson was still at home, dressed for his vacation but under the hood of his car.
"Ow!" Neilson grunted after he hit his head on the bonnet. "Bermuda awaits, and my car decides to poop out right at this moment." He sighed before slamming the bonnet down.
Before the doctor could further complain about the situation, the man jumped into the air as Vision appeared before him.
"Mr. Vision!" He gasped. "Is everything okay with the wives?"
"Yes. Yes, very much so. So long as we hurry." Vision said, grabbing Neilson's arm and hoisting him onto his back.
Without another word, Vision was running home, Neilson secured on his back, not noticing the fact that Dr. Neilson's wife had been sitting in the car.
"But Stan! What about my brand new two-piece?" His wife yelled. But she was talking to no-one.
Vision was already rushing her husband to his home, a home where he would soon be able to meet his children.
Back at said home, Geraldine was panicking. She had had no idea that her friends were pregnant, and now they were about to give birth.
"Okay, Wanda, I'm gonna get you to the living room. Y/N, I'll be right back." Geraldine promised, taking Wanda's arm and pulling it around her shoulders.
"No worries, I'll be fine. I'll just try not to pop the kid out in here." Y/N grunted, sinking down onto the floor as her wife was pulled out of the room.
"Let's get you comfortable," Geraldine said, grabbing pillow's on the couch and attempting to set it up as Wanda sunk onto the floor.
"I think I'm just going to lay down right here." Wanda panted, making herself comfortable on the floor. "Where's Y/N?" Wanda gasped.
"I'm getting her now. I'll be right back." Geraldine promised, propping pillows under Wanda's head before rushing back into the nursery. "Let's get you up, Y/N." She said, gently pulling Y/N to her feet as the woman groaned.
"With Wanda. I need to be next to Wanda." Y/N said through gritted teeth.
Geraldine didn't question Y/N's request as she laid Y/N next to her wife, assuming both women were feeling quite frightened at the moment.
And while that was true, there was something else drawing them together.
The babies in their wombs seemed to be drawn to one another. The babies were connected. And even now, as they were so close to entering the world, they wanted to be near each other.
They needed to be near each other.
"Where's Vision?" Geraldine demanded as she grabbed pillows for Y/N.
"He ran to get the doctor," Wanda explained as the vacuum began to run in the background.
"He'll be here soon," Y/N added with a grunt.
"There's not enough time for that!" Geraldine denied. "You know the breathing, right?" She asked as she began to run around the house. "Girls, I can't hear you!"
But neither woman could respond as the pain was becoming blinding. And it wasn't like Geraldine would be able to hear over the chaos happening around them.
Photo frames were spinning, the fire was roaring, a violent wind was making its way through the house, and both women were screaming.
Geraldine hadn't noticed any of the noise until she was rushing back into the living room and a light fixture crashed onto the table.
"I may be late to the party, but I imagine there is a logical explanation for this," Geraldine said, sitting before the women with a bucket and blankets.
"Oh, it's all perfectly natural!"
"Just like this! Everything's fine!"
"Hey, hey, hey. You are doing great." Geraldine assured. "You are doing great. The two of you are doing amazing. Look at me. Look at me." She demanded before demonstrating the breathing techniques.
"Wanda, I can't do this," Y/N grunted.
"What? No, because if you can't do this, I can't do this. And we're too close to turn back now." Wanda said, reaching over and blindly taking Y/N's hand.
"I'll say it's too late because it's time to start pushing," Geraldine said.
"What?" Both women gasped.
"Wanda, you're crowning," Geraldine informed her. "Are you ready? You're ready. Push. Push, Wanda, push." She cheered as Wanda squeezed Y/N's hand tightly and screamed.
The house was alive as Wanda pushed, and her screams seemed to drown out the chaos in the house as everything reached its craziest.
And when Wanda stopped screaming, and the house went quiet, a new set of cries permeated the walls.
"It's a boy," Geraldine informed the woman as she wrapped the baby up.
"Oh, hi." Wanda cooed as the baby was placed in her arms.
"Oh, Wanda, he's perfect." Y/n smiled, reaching over to grab his little hand.
Before either of you could say another word, the front door was slammed open, and Vision was now standing in the living room with Neilson behind him.
"Did I miss it all?" Vision asked, staring at his wives.
"Nope, you're just in time," Y/N grunted. "Please, someone tell me it's time." She begged.
"I think you're ready to push." Geraldine checked, causing Vision to rush to kneel between his wives and the doctor to move into action.
Y/N's labor was much less chaotic than Wanda's. The only side effect that happened was the wind that rushed through the house before their daughter was born.
"She's gorgeous." Wanda smiled as the baby was bundled up and placed in Y/N's arms.
"Hey, Doc, why don't you help me out in the kitchen there?" Geraldine suggested, wanting to give the three a moment of privacy.
"Everything's happened so fast today. It's like I've been flying." The doctor said as he followed the woman out of the room.
"Well done, girls." Vision said, brushing hair off both women's faces.
"Don't you want to meet your children as yourself?" Wanda suggested. Vision quickly looked around before dropping his disguise.
"You're so strong." Wanda cooed as she handed Vision the boy.
"Do you want to hold her?" Y/N offered their daughter to her wife.
"I'd love to hold, Luna," Wanda said, causing Y/N to smile.
"Hello there, little Tommy." Vision cooed at the little boy in his arms.
"Tommy?"
"Yes, Tommy." Vision smiled, causing both Wanda and Y/N to smile at him before Wanda let out another scream.
"What?" Y/N and Vision exclaimed, staring at Wanda in shock.
Vision handed Tommy to Y/N and rushed to lift Wanda's skirt.
"Oh! Good heavens! There's another baby coming!" Vision cried.
"Billy?" Wanda exclaimed as she handed Luna over to Y/N and began to grunt as the urge to push grew stronger.
"Push, sweetheart, push!"
"Thirty fingers and thirty toes." Nielson commended thirty minutes after the birth of the three children.
Because of Billy's surprise entrance, Neilson had had to triple check that both women were okay and that there would be no more surprises that day.
He had made sure there were no more children on their way any time soon, that Y/N and Wanda could both feed all three babies and that they were both recovering well.
Now Wanda, Vision, and Neilson were each holding one of the babies ea while Y/N lay on the couch, exhausted after the day.
"You've got two healthy baby boys and one healthy little girl on your hands." Neilson complimented.
"Thank you, doctor." Wanda smiled, rocking Tommy in her arms.
"And thank you, young lady," Neilson said, turning to Geraldine with a smile. "I think you might have what it takes to be a nurse."
"Allow me to walk you out, doctor." Vision murmured, putting Luna into her bassinet and taking Billy from the doctor's arms and putting in the bassinet beside her.
"Oh, all right. As long as we actually walk this time." He said, causing a sleepy smile to appear on Y/N's face.
"We do owe you a debt of gratitude," Wanda said as she neared the bassinets.
"Big-time," Y/N murmured.
Well, doctor Neilson, I hope you're still able to make your trip." Vision said, leading the doctor out of his home.
"Ah yes, my trip. I don't we'll get away after all." Neilson admitted with a sigh. "Small towns, you know. So hard to... escape." He said, more to himself, before leaving Vision standing alone.
"Yeah." Vision shook his head before turning back to his home. He was about to reenter the house when he overheard Herb and Agnes hissing to each other.
"What is she doing in there?"
"I don't know."
"Howdy neighbors!" Vision called, causing both people to turn and wave quickly.
"Hey!"
"Howdy!" Agnes called before turning back to Herb. "Did you see her go in?"
"She just went right in."
Vision's curiosity was peaked. Which she were his neighbors talking about?
"Remarkable day we're having, no?" Vision asked, walking over to the two. "Did you lose power too?" He questioned Agnes.
"Oh, sure did." Agnes nodded with a sigh before plastering on a grin. "But, Ralph looks better in the dark, so I'm not complaining."
"Hi, Herb."  Vision said, looking at the man strangely.
"Hey, buddy." Herb nodded quickly, lowering his hand just as fast. Both Agnes and Herb were looking at him nervously, and it was unsettling Vision.
"Well, I'll just get back to the girls." He excused himself, turning away.
"Vision!" Agnes called, forcing him to turn back. "Is Geraldine inside your house?" She asked, shifting uncomfortably.
"Yes. Why?"
"Why are you not tired?" Y/N mumbled, her face pressed into the couch cushions.
"I must just be special," Wanda said, hinting at her powers.
"Not fair."
"Go to sleep, sweetheart," Wanda said, brushing hair off Y/N's face.
"No, I want to stay up."
"You're exhausted, Y/N. Go to sleep. I'll wake you if the babies cry." Wanda promised.
"Okay. I'll just rest my eyes." Y/N nodded, closing her eyes. Wanda gently pressed her fingertips to Y/N's temple and helped her to sleep. Ensuring that she only had good dreams as she slept.
"I gotta say, you two are such strong ladies." Geraldine complimented as Wanda moved back to the bassinets.
"Oh." Wanda tutted, waving the compliment off.
"Can you believe it? Twin boys and a little girl! You know they're going to be the most overprotective brothers when they're older." Geraldine said, causing Wanda to freeze.
Distant memories, memories Wanda had forced to the back of her mind, were resurfacing. Memories of her own twin.
Her own overprotective twin.
"I'm a twin," Wanda mentioned, eyes glazed over. "I had a brother. His name was Pietro." Wanda said, her accent slipping on his name. Wanda turned to stare back at her children with a smile before she began to sing a familiar lullaby. A lullaby her mother had sung to her and Pietro.
"He was killed by Ultron," Geraldine said, causing Wanda to freeze. "Wasn't he?"
"What did you say?" Wanda demanded as a single tear slid down her cheek.
"She's new to town. Brand new." Herb told Vision.
"There's no family. No husband." Agnes added.
"There's nothing wrong with that." Vision said with a shrug.
"No home," Agnes told him.
"What?"
"What did you just say?" Wanda asked, staring at Geraldine blankly.
"I said, you're such strong ladies," Geraldine repeated. "Should I say it one more time for good measure?" She asked, moving towards the couch. Where Y/N was still sleeping, unbeknownst to what was happening.
"Don't go near her." Wanda snapped, stopping Geraldine in her tracks. "What did you say about Pietro?"
"Pietro?" Geraldine questioned, tilting her head in confusion. "Hey, I'll take a shift rocking the babies." She offered, beginning to move closer to the bassinets when the babies started to cry.
"No, I think you should leave." Wanda shook her head, blocking the bassinets from her view.
"Oh, Wanda, don't be like that," Geraldine said, staring at Wanda as if she were the crazy one.
"What do you mean she has no home?" Vision demanded, moving towards his neighbors.
"She came here because." Herb tried to say but couldn't finish his own sentence. "She came here because we're all,"
"She came here because we're all what? What're you trying to tell me?" Vision asked, staring at the two in confusion.
"What is that?" Wanda asked, staring at the pendant around Geraldine's neck.
"What?"
"That," Wanda said as Geraldine held the pendant between her fingers. "That symbol."
"I uh, I'm," Geraldine stuttered, looking towards Y/N, hoping the woman would help her.
"Who are you?" Wanda demanded, moving to block her wife from Geraldine's gaze.
"I don't,"
"She came here because we're all," Herb began to say but stopped when Agnes spun to face him.
"Stop it!" She hissed, staring at him with scared eyes.
"Who are you?" Wanda repeated, staring at the woman in anger.
"Wanda." Geraldine shook her head as she began to take a step back. "I'm. Wanda, I'm," Geraldine stuttered, unable to tell her.
"Well, I better get going. That macrame's not gonna hitch itself!" Agnes said with a smile as she grabbed her bike. She gave Vision a wink as she rang the bell before rushing away.
"Herb?" Vision asked, raising an eyebrow.
Vision wasn't going to back down. He needed answers, but Herb wasn't willing to give them.
"Catch you on the flip side, Vision," Herb said, grabbing his trimmers and rushing back into his home.
Without a second thought, Vision rushed back into his house, his disguise dropping when the door shut behind him.
"Wanda? Where's Geraldine?" Vision asked, rounding the couch to stand beside a sleeping Y/N.
"Oh, she left, honey," Wanda told him, not turning around to face him. "She had to rush home." She added, continuing to rock the babies with a blank face.
Miles away from the Vision home, on the outskirts of Westview, there was a loud crackling that ripped through the air.
The crackling continued until Geraldine was thrown through the electric barrier, and she landed on the ground with a crash.
Within seconds Geraldine's prone body was surrounded by loud noises, and a light covered her form.
She was surrounded.

Chapter 19
Bucky was having a lot of difficulty hiding his panic.  There were a lot of emotions coursing through him right now.  Fear, excitement, stress, confusion, happiness all surged through him, mixing to make him a highly anxious mess.  He welcomed those feelings.  He normally shut down so much while on a mission and retreated into his ‘winter soldier’ headspace that he felt nothing at all.  Seeing you in that hall with Viper attacking you, he’d reacted on instinct, firing his gun before he even considered all the ramifications of it.  It would have happened anyway, when he was the soldier he assessed risk quickly and acted without question.  Seeing you had just increased the urgency of it.
As Viper dropped to the ground the actual reality of what was happening crashed down on him, thrusting the soldier back into the dark and dragging Bucky right into the driver's seat again, and now he was crouched on the floor of what looked like an office, in a secret underground HYDRA base, cradling his son, and a crying infant, while you were on all fours giving birth to his daughter.
“Okay,” he said to himself as he tried to soothe the two crying children.  “Okay.  I’ve got this.”
“Bucky,” you wailed.  “Bucky… I don’t know what to do.  I can’t do this.”
“It’s okay, babe,” he said and rubbed Geo’s back.  “G, I need you to be really brave for me buddy.  I need some help.”
Geo shook his head and pushed his face a little harder into Bucky’s neck.
“Geo,” you said.  “Your sister’s coming.  And your mom needs me to help get him out.  I can’t do that if I have to hold you and the baby.  You think you can help me out?”
Geo raised his head a little and wiped his eyes.  He gave a small nod.
“Thank you.  I promise as soon as I can, I’ll pick you up, and you can sit right here if you want,” he said, as he put Geo down.  “Now I know this baby is crying a lot, but I need you to hold them okay.  You want to sit down and I’ll give the baby to you?”
Geo looked at you and scrambled back against a wall.  Bucky carried the crying baby over and crouched down again.  “Can you do this, buddy?”  He asked.
Geo nodded and Bucky put the squalling infant into the little boy's arms.  “I know it’s not fun,” he said and took his earpiece out and put it into Geo’s ear.  “Here, you can talk to your dad, or FRIDAY to distract you.  But I need you to be gentle and just hold the baby like that.  And when your dad is at the door, you can let him in, but don’t let in anyone you don’t know, okay?”
Geo nodded and Bucky pressed a kiss to the boy’s brow.  “You’re doing so well, I’m so proud of you,” he said.
Bucky didn’t feel great about leaving Geo with the baby, but there wasn’t much choice.  He returned to your side and knelt behind you.  “I’m here, honey,” he said, gently massaging your hips.  You hadn’t changed position since he’d left you - you were still on your hands and knees, but now your arms were bent and you had your forehead pressed on your forearms and your ass popped up in the air.  “You comfortable like that?”
“No,” you whined.  “But it’s the best I can get.  Bucky how is she?”
Bucky shook his head.  “I don’t know, babe, but I can see her hair.  She has your hair.  I bet she’s going to look like you.”
“Do I push?”  You asked.  “I don’t know if I should be pushing.”
Bucky chuckled. “I don’t know, honey.  Do you feel like you need to?”
“Yes,” you whined.
“Then push.  I’m right here.  I’ll get her,” he said, hoping he sounded more confident about this than he felt.
You moaned as you strained and more of the baby started to show.  Thankfully Bucky had paid attention to the birthing videos in class, because this had to be the weirdest thing he’d ever seen, and he’d seen some pretty weird things.  It was blood and messy and it looked like she was about to tear you in half.  “You’re doing great, darlin’.  Keep pushing.”
You strained again, bearing down and the baby’s whole head slipped free.  Bucky used his fingers to pull her chin free, and tried to get her shoulders into a better position.  “Looking good, honey.  Nearly there.”
The door opened and Bucky barely heard it over your moans and the cries of the infant with Geo.  Geo’s voice grabbed his attention though.  “Daddy!”  Geo said.
Bucky whipped around, first looking at Geo who was sitting in the corner with the baby and then to the door where he was looking.  Steve stood, filling the frame, his shield in hand, and standing in a defensive position as he surveyed the situation in front of him.  He quickly put the shield on his back and strode inside.  “Honey, are you okay?”  He asked, crouching by your head.
You nodded.  “They gave me something…” you said, sounding almost apologetic.
“It’s okay.  We’ve got you,” Steve said.
You winced and strained again, pushing.  Bucky helped wiggle the baby’s shoulders free and she slipped right out.  As soon as her body was free her tiny newborn wails joined the other baby’s cries.  “She’s here,” Bucky said, holding her in his arms and lifting her for you to see.  “You did it.”
You rolled onto our back and started to cry, and Bucky carefully put the infant on your chest.  With all the things he’d done in his life.  All the lives he’d taken, he had never been responsible for bringing life into the world.  It felt good, even under these insane and tense conditions.  He only took a moment to appreciate it before getting up and going to Geo.  “Okay.  You did so well,” Bucky said, taking the baby back from the boy.
Geo got up and scrambled over to you and Steve, crashing into Steve’s side.  Steve picked him up and put him on his hip.  “Did you help?”  Steve asked gently.
Geo nodded but didn’t say anything.  Bucky wondered how long it would take before Geo would be able to shake any of this off, or if he’d ever be able to.  How much can a kid go through before it does permanent damage?  “What happened?  Who’s baby is that?”  Steve asked.
“Can you help me sit up?”  You asked.  Steve helped you into a sitting position and let you lean against him.  “They’d been keeping other people here.  From the tests.  I don’t know if they’d had them from the start or if they only bought them in recently… but… they … they were breeding them, Steve.  Like they were animals. Trying to replicate Geo.  That baby… I don’t know if there are more, but his mother asked me to look after him.”
“Okay,” Steve soothed as you, babbled to him.  “It’s okay.  We’ll figure it out.”  He paused and held his hand to his ear.  “Tony… she just gave birth, we’re going to need a medivac… Alright… page me when it’s clear.”
“What’s happening?”  Bucky asked.
“They’re still rounding up the last of them,” Steve asked.  “Geo, can you tell if there are any other exits that our friends didn’t come through?”
Geo shook his head.  “I didn’t let ‘em out,” he mumbled into Steve’s neck.
“Good boy,” Steve said.  “You’ve been so brave and done so well.  You know that?”
“Steve… Steve…” you said, shaking your head.  “Steve we need to say he’s ours.”
“What?”  Steve asked, confused.
“There’s no record of him being born,” you said.  “No one will know.  We need to say he’s ours.  That I had twins.”
“Sweetheart,” Steve said, gently.  “You’re not thinking straight.”
“She made me promise if anything happened to her…” you implored.  “Please, Steve.”
Bucky looked down at the tiny infant in his arms.  He could pass for Bucky’s if not anyone else’s.  He was a little bigger than the little girl now on your chest, but barely.  Though, with the fact she was still attached to her umbilical cord, Bucky wasn’t sure how easily they could fake it.
“We’ll work it out,” Steve promised.  “I swear, he’ll come home with us.  You won’t break your promise.”
Tumblr media
It was another hour before the site was secure and a medical team managed to come and collect you.  In that time, you had passed the placenta too, and Steve had sent one of the legion down to the med bay for a clamp and he’d clamped off and cut the umbilical cord.  You and the two infants were taken by ambulance back to the tower and to the medbay.  The facility was state of the art and it meant that the baby - Gal - could stay with you because anytime that it was even hinted at that he be taken away, you would start to panic again.
Geo wouldn’t leave your side and he didn’t particularly like it if Bucky or Steve went anywhere either.  He stayed on your gurney on the ride out of the HYDRA facility and all the medical checks that you and he had to do, had to be done in the same room.
You, Geo, and the two infants were finally sleeping.  Geo was sleeping in the crook of your arm on the hospital bed, and they’d set up two more for Steve and Bucky to use because Geo didn’t want to have anyone separated.
Steve had used the opportunity to go sort out some of the legal paperwork and make sure that every i was dotted and every t crossed.  When he returned to check on everyone, he looked tired and frazzled.
“Still sleeping?”  He asked as he sat down next to Bucky on the couch in the corner.
Bucky nodded.  “They’ve been through a lot.  “It’s going to be a while before they get over this.”
Steve frowned and nodded.  “We should have been more careful.”
Bucky nodded.  “Can’t do anything about that now,” he said.  “We’ll be more careful from now on.”
Steve sighed and let his head fall back against the wall.  Bucky took his hand and linked their fingers together.  “It occurred to me while I was talking to Ross, we haven’t named our daughter yet.”
Bucky smiled.  “Yeah.  I guess that’s what happens when you take the ‘wait to meet her approach and then meeting her is an unmitigated disaster,” he said.  “It can wait.  She’s here and safe.  That’s the main thing.”
Steve nodded and let out a breath.  “Yeah…” he turned and smiled at Bucky.  “Look at you, choosing the positive side.”
Bucky laughed softly and shoved him.  “Jerk.”
The two men remained silent for a moment, just watching as the rest of their family slept.  “What are we going to do about Gal?”  Bucky asked eventually.
Steve shook his head.  “I’m not opposed to adopting him.  You know biology isn’t important to me.  But what if he has family out there?  And I mean that really… what if?  They have a right to know and they would have been grieving over his parents.  But if they want to raise him, what if they’re not set up for it?  And what if he has no family?  We’re having enough trouble trying to adopt Geo, and that’s with his biological mother’s permission.  What if they deem us unsafe?  And who could blame them, look what happened?”
Bucky frowned.  “What are you saying?”
“I don’t know… I guess…” Steve said.  “I guess I’m saying, maybe we should just lie about his birth.  Say they are twins.  We were the only ones there for her birth.  Who’s going to argue?  Some imprisoned HYDRA agents?”
“You’re seriously considering it?”  Bucky asked.  “That’s … kind of illegal, Steve.”
“Because I’ve never broken the law when I thought it was necessary,” Steve snarked.  “Did you forget I was a war criminal?”
Bucky chuckled. “Well, if you’re serious, I’ll support it, but you better decide one way or the other.  Because it needs to be done when we fill in the birth certificates, and we’re going to need to convince some doctors to back us up.”
Steve nodded and ran his thumb over the back of Bucky’s hand.  “I know,” he said.  “I have FRIDAY discreetly searching for his family based on what we know.  It’ll be easier to decide if we know either way.”
Bucky nodded and smiled a little.  “Be good having a great big instant family though, wouldn’t it?”
Steve let go of Bucky’s arm and wrapped his arm around him.  Bucky leaned into the embrace as Steve pressed his face into Bucky’s hair and inhaled.  “We’ll figure it out,” Steve said.
Bucky sighed.  He knew they would, it was just that there was so much.  He hoped the choice they made was the right one.

Just like the others, you were brought back when the Avengers succeeded in retrieving all the infinity stones.
You're laying on the ground at the same place you were last time: Wakanda. Once you gain consciousness you struggle to get up, your legs wobbly.
“Hello?” You call out, but you're alone, can’t even contact anyone since your suit is out of power. You have no clear memory of what happened, just that you had an anxiety attack while Natasha held you, then you blacked out and - that’s it.
You felt a strong breeze and footsteps behind you.
“[Y/N] Stark,” a man’s voice says. “Come with me.”
The man is ancient looking, had a cape and his facial hair weirdly reminds you of Tony’s. “Who are you? And how long was I out?” You look at a sparking yellow portal far behind him, “did you do that?”
“Stick together and stick with Wong,” the man calls out before the portal closes. You have no idea who he was talking to since they already got in. “Doctor Stephen Strange. We need to find Pepper Potts and... get you suited.”
“I already am suited it’s just - no juice. What’s going on?”
“It’s been five years. It’s time, your father and the others need our help to defeat Thanos,” Doctor Strange opens up another portal to an unfamiliar cabin. Your eyes light up at the mention of Tony. “Quickly. We do not have much time.”
Five years? Unbelievable. That’s just insane. You like sleeping a lot but you couldn’t imagine being asleep for five long years.
“Are - are you sure we’re in the right pla - okay, sorry, don’t have much time, yeah,” you knock on the door when Doctor Strange gives you a stern and impatient look. It gets answered right away.
“[Y/N]? Oh my god,” Pepper says breathlessly. You could feel her sobbing while she hugs you tightly.
“Hey, you guys didn’t tell me you moved,” you frown. “Is all my stuff here? Mr. Strange wants me to get ready and this isn’t the only suit I have-”
“Doctor Strange.”
“It’s upstairs, last room on the left,” Pepper smiles as she wipes her tears. You nod and went up the stairs as the magic doctor told her everything.
All your stuff were in boxes and your spare iron suit was standing in a corner. You wiped away the dust off and checked if it was in good condition. It was ready to go.
You quickly charged the weapons and blasters on the suit, and you still needed to-
You hear a small gasp from behind the door.
Confused, you turn around to see a girl with an amazed smile on her face. “Y/N!”
You cautiously walk over to the small girl, “yeah, I’m Y/N, what’s your name?”
“Morgan,” she replies, then her eyes widen as she hides something behind her back. “Daddy said I can borrow your stuff as long as I put it back. They all look really cool.”
You still aren’t sure, but you start to put the pieces together in your mind: you were ‘gone’ for five years, this girl is living with Pepper, and if you guessed right, ‘daddy’ is Tony.
She’s your sister.
“It’s okay, and thanks,” she gives you a small hug which you return slightly, you feel a smile growing on your face since you find her really precious. “It’s nice to meet you, Morgan.
“Hey, so, there’s this weirdo man downstairs and he wants me and Pep - mom to do an errand for him,” you say to her once you remember you have to go. Morgan nods understandingly, “we can play and catch up when I get back, okay? That’s a promise.”
She runs back to her room and you get suited up, power at its maximum.
“Welcome back, Ms. Stark.”
“Glad to be. I missed you - actually, how Dad’s doing? Is he alright?”
“Mr. Stark had a concussion earlier, but as of now he is waking up again.”
“Oh,” you exhale and start worrying about him a bit. “Okay. That’s fine, I guess,”
Once you go back down a portal was already open and a nanny by the door (you assumed for Morgan). You fly right in before it closed up.
“Holy shit.”
There's armies coming out of many different portals, from people to aircrafts, to mutants. You all gather at the Avengers compound, or what used to be the compound.
“I forgot to mention,” you point out and Pepper turns to you, “That’s a pretty badass suit.”
You could feel Pepper roll her eyes from inside her suit. You follow her as she flies all the way to the front.
Your eyes dart everywhere to look for Tony. And there he is, getting up from the ground and flying back to the Avengers. He looks worn out, ragged, tired; you notice before his iron head covered him up. There’s so many people that you doubt he even saw you. God, you miss him so much.
Cap, Thor, Rhodey, Clint, Peter, Wanda, Bucky, Sam, Bruce - or Hulk, everyone was there, but where’s Natasha?
“Avengers!” Cap shouts, a hand extended as he catches Mjolnir without stumbling - whoa, what? - “assemble.”
That’s it. The battle begins.
It's your first time using your backup suit, you obviously didn’t have the time to test it out first. Good thing it works fine.
You're flying around, shooting enemies whenever they get in your way and helping anyone on your side who needed it.
What got you confused (not that you were complaining) was how the other Avengers were a bit too happy to see you than they normally should. You brushed it off though, they probably just love you so much like you love them.
“Aye, mind if you launch me? I need to be over there,” a raccoon holding a gun states and pointed to the direction. You recognize him immediately.
"Sure thing, bud,” you obliged, grabbing him, levitating off the ground and to thrust your iron arm forward like a cannon.
After a while the battle died down a bit and you saw Tony embracing Peter in a distance.
You smile sadly. Peter’s your best friend, but you really wish that it’s you who Tony was hugging.
Your jealousy fades when one of those giant flying Chitauri makes its way to their direction, ready to attack.
“Friday, activate the mega blaster,” you fly closer to the pair.
“Which one?” For fuck’s sake, Friday,
“The biggest one, please, now!” Once the blaster's out, you aim at the monster who's literally meters away from Tony and Peter and fire. When it crashes to the ground lifeless, you land beside them.
“Sorry, that was,” you pant, opening up your iron helmet. “It was literally going to eat you guys, so, uh, sorry for ruining the moment.”
Peter smiles, nodding and Tony looks at you as if he couldn’t believe his eyes.
He hadn’t seen you in so long that your sudden presence fucking took his breath away. You're here, alive and back. If you guys weren’t in such a situation he’d go on and tell you about all the things you missed.
“I’m probably in trouble, right? I mean.. look Dad, I’m in a battlefield,” you laugh nervously, shooting a creature from the corner of your eye. “In my defense, Doctor Strange was the one who came to me, I didn’t-”
You're cut off when Tony wraps his arms around you. Right now he didn’t care about your excuses as to why you were here. But if Tony from five years ago could see you now he’d definitely ground you for life and take away your lab privileges.
“You’re doing great.” his voice slightly muffled from the hug. You let out a squeak, not expecting that from him at all. Tony smiles and plants a kiss to your forehead. “I love you, kid.”
“I love you too, Dad.”
The battle carries on and you're being swarmed by more enemies. You got really beaten up as it went on - what really knocked you out was when Thanos’ spaceship rained fire.
Unable to get shelter, you try your best to dodge everything that came out of the ship. You could barely see anymore because of the chaos and the clouds of dust everywhere.
“Ms. Stark, you need to get somewhere safe! Your heart rate is also increasing dangerously fast.”
“Not - not helping, Fri-” you get cut off when one of the blue fires hit you on the head, sending you to the ground unconscious.
----
“[Y/N], come on buddy, you need to get up,” Peter. He found your body a while after he handed the gauntlet to Captain Marvel. The battle's still ongoing, but he’s focusing on keeping you away from it while he waits for you to wake up.
You quickly sit up and gasp for air, looking at your best friend. “Did we win? Did we - wait, Peter, look out!” You push him out of the way when a group of monsters make their way to both of you. They turn into dust before they could lunge forward, however.
“...what the..?”
He helps you up and the both of you run to where Rhodey and Tony are at. You nearly break down when you see the state he's in.
“Mr. Stark? Hey - Mr. Stark? It’s Peter... and look, Y/N’s here- she’s okay, sir-” While Peter tries to talk to him you kneel down beside him, placing a hand on his arm while you do your best not to cry.
Then he looks at you, mouthing it’s okay.
But you know it isn’t. On your part, anyway. It seems really selfish but you don’t know what you’d do without him. Tony has always been there for you, he always kept you going.
Pepper kneels beside you, gave you a reassuring look before looking at her husband. “Friday?”
“Life functions critical.” That makes you whimper, pulling yourself closer to Tony.
“Tony, look at me. We’re going to be okay. You can rest now.”
You nod, sniffling, resting your head on his shoulder lightly. “I love you. I’ll take good care of Morgan, dad. Don’t worry.”
When the light of his arc reactor goes out, that’s when both you and Pepper break down, comforting each other around Tony’s lifeless body.
----
Dresses really weren’t your thing. So were skirts and shorts. But you wore a short, black dress for Tony’s funeral. You didn’t care if you weren’t comfortable, it was for him. You’d do anything for him.
You barely got any sleep since the battle, you couldn’t now that he was gone. It didn’t feel right. You had no idea how to cope, how you could move on from this.
What made things worse is when Steve and Thor told you about what happened to Natasha, that’s why you didn’t see her in the battle. She gave her own life just to get everybody else back.
You must’ve zoned out again because Rhodey and Pepper are now setting something up in the living room. An Iron Man helmet.
“S’that going to be new decoration?” You force out a chuckle, sniffling afterwards, sitting down on the sofa behind them.
Iron Man’s eyes light up when Rhodey presses a button. You couldn’t believe what you were seeing. Tony sitting on a chair, a hologram.
He turns it off before hologram Tony could say a word. “That’s,” he sighs, “that’s for later.”
“I can’t do this,” you get up, running a hand through your hair. “I can’t. I’ll - I’ll break down, I know I will. Can I take a walk? Please?”
“Take your time.” Steve gives you a comforting smile.
Pepper nods. “Some air would do you good. Be back when it’s time, okay?”
You take longer calming yourself down in the woods near the cabin. You cried, you mumbled to yourself, paced back and forth,
Cause a picture is all that I have, To remind me that you're never coming back  If I picture it now it just makes me sad And right now I just wish you were here.
You stop when you heard leaves crunching. Peter just arrived, along with his aunt.
“Hey,” Peter silently greets, pulling you into a hug. It's obvious he isn’t getting any sleep either. “Are you okay?”
“Of course not,” you murmur, pulling away. “I should probably head back inside.”
“I’ll see you in a bit.”
You slowly walk to the porch, stopping when you hear Tony’s voice inside. You decide to just wait outside the door, you definitely don’t want to see his face, not right now, it'd be too painful.
“If we pull this thing off, and get everyone back,” Tony pauses. “Tell [Y/N] I left something in her room, yeah?”
Then he does the secret rhythm to a clap only the both of you memorized and knew.
You assume he’s done, since you don’t hear his voice anymore after that. Everyone goes out of the house and you hold Morgan’s hand as all of you walk to the lake for one last goodbye.
After that you talked to everybody who came for a while. Bruce, Steve, Clint and Thor tried to get you to look at the bright side, which you appreciated, you met the rest of the guardians who came, Doctor Strange who gave you a sympathetic look and apologized for your loss, and the guy you remembered Tony told you about, the one who helped him when his suit powered down and got stranded years ago. You made a mental note to ask him to hang out with you and Peter sometime.
“Hey... I’m heading to bed now,” you inform Pepper, Happy and Rhodey (both men were staying at the cabin for a few days) who're in the living room staring at the fireplace.
Before you go to your own room you check up on Morgan, who’s fast asleep. She's wearing her little Iron Man glove, pressed to her chest. She doesn’t deserve this.
Your room is still unpacked and they just sort of removed your bed from the compound and moved it here. You sit on the bed, already thinking of ways to move on that you know wouldn’t work anyway.
You remember your father claimed he had something for you here, so taking a deep breath, you clap the secret rhythm,
“Dad... you’ve gotta be kidding me,” you whine, covering your face with both palms.
Another hologram.
“Hey legacy,” Tony chuckles, looking at you. You shake your head at the ridiculous nickname, also avoiding his eyes, which you’re sure would make you cry if you did look. “I... uh, this is just a little video. For you. Sure you won’t see this but... I like to pretend I could still talk to you. I miss you, a lot.”
You fiddle with your hands, still not looking at him but you listen to him talk.
“But we’ll see. We’ll figure something out. I hope to see you soon, [Y/N]. I love you.”
He has both hands in his pockets as he looked at you with a warm smile, before disappearing.
But he reappears a second after.
“We’re doing it tomorrow. The... uh, time travel thing.”
The stress in his voice make you look up at him, but this time he isn’t looking at you. It seems like he was pacing while he recorded it.
“I just finished doing one of these for, well, in case I somehow die while we attempt to do it. If you think about it, it’s highly likely. Going back in time, yada yada, possibilities are endless,” he sighs. “But I figured I owe my firstborn a final message if that happens, right?”
“Honestly I feel,” he makes motions with his hands. “Bit anxious... right now. We were the only ones helping each other out when one of us felt this way but... seeing as you’re not here, I just have to deal with it.”
“[Y/N], look at me,” Tony crouches down to be in level with you, like he knew you were actually here watching this, like he was actually there, the one talking to you. But it’s how he programmed it. “You wanna know what my best decision in life was?”
“Yeah?”
“Taking you in,” he smiles. “When we fight you always bring up that I had the choice not to, and you were right. But guess what? I have no regrets.”
You smile, blinking back tears.
“You mean the world to me, I just feel like I don’t say it enough,” Tony cocks his head slightly, still looking at you. “We both have no idea what the afterlife’s like but that won’t matter, I’ll always look after you girls.”
“Speaking of which, your sister reminded me so much of you when she was first born, god, I still wish you were around for that. I know you’ll love her, she’s just brilliant. Take care of her for me, yeah?”
“Maybe there’s a way to get you back,” Tony sighs at your words, already knowing that it’s not going to work out. “I - I just need some time. I can bring you back, Dad-”
He places a hand on your shoulder. You couldn’t feel it, but you did feel a light breeze. “The deed’s already done, honey. Don’t worry about me. Come on, don’t cry,” he kneels in front of you as you let yourself go, crying hard into your palms.
Don't say everything's meant to be, Cause you know it's not what I believe  Can't help but think that it should've been me In the end, I just wish you were here.
You open your eyes when you hear a beep, even Tony turns around. The recording had ten seconds left. “The recording’s about to end, [Y/N],”
“I love you tons,” you whisper, looking up at him.
Tony smiles, caressing your cheek. “I love you 3,000.”
Yeah, they say you're in a better place, Either way I still wish you were here ‘Cause they say you're in a better place  In the end, I just wish you were here.
----
so here’s part 2. I miss him y’all, it’s missing-Tony-so-much hours for me
just like the first part, I got the title from this amazing song by Neck Deep which you can listen to here.

FIC: Kurt Birthday Drabbles
Earlier this week @elledelajoie left a comment on something I wrote all the way back in 2014.  I had genuinely forgotten I ever started it, but the original idea was to write 21 Kurt Hummel birthday drabbles. I had written just 7 of them, but after we chatted about it, I decided to go ahead and finish.
If you’re not familiar, a drabble is a scene of exactly 100 words, not counting title headers. Since Chris Colfer and Kurt Hummel’s co-birthday (May 27) is coming up this Thursday, here they are. This goes definite AU at Birthday #19. Because you know I would never sentence my beloved Kurt to a life of being a doormat to people who did not appreciate and value him.
Never underestimate the power of feedback!
~*~*~*~*~
Birthday #1
Kurt’s blue eyes went wide as a frosted cupcake was set upon his high-chair tray, a single candle ablaze on its surface.
When Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Andy, Grandpa Curtis and Grandma Eileen started singing to him, he smiled and clapped both hands hard around the tempting pile of frosting.
Kurt laughed when the sugary topping went flying and a big splatter of white abruptly decorated Daddy’s surprised face.
Everyone else started laughed too, including the startled father, who retaliated by giving his birthday boy a sticky peck on the cheek and then helped him to blow out a new candle.
Birthday #2
Kurt looked between his presents, confused.
Mommy had given him the pretty dolly he had begged for at the store. Daddy had given him a truck, not big enough to ride but too big to live with the little cars Daddy gave him at Christmas.
His parents seemed to be mad at each other.
Kurt looked at the doll, then at the truck. He smiled and placed Dolly inside the truck and began to drive her around the carpet.
Mommy and Daddy seemed surprised by his actions, but then they laughed, and Kurt knew he had figured out the puzzle.
 Birthday #3
His shoes were black and shiny, buckles on the sides and 1-inch heels on the base. He clomped over the hardwood floors, listening to the click-tap-click-tap in delight. They went perfectly with his dove gray coveralls with “Kurt” sewn on the pocket in black sequins. Mommy had made the outfit for him.
Spotting Daddy watching him, Kurt threw himself into waiting arms. Daddy’s smile looked like he had an owie but was trying to be a big boy and not cry.
Kurt hugged him. “It’s okay, Daddy.”
Burt looked surprised but hugged him back. “Yeah, buddy. I think it is.”
 Birthday #4
Ballet girls were nice. When they heard it was his birthday today, they threw him a party. Kurt puffed up with pleasure when presented with cookies, a sparkly wand and a tiara that read ‘Happy Birthday’ in shiny letters. He was not as fond of the kisses they gave, but four was very grown up, so he screwed up his face and allowed it. The teacher even let him wear the special puffy pink tutu over his little black leotard!
He saw Mommy and Daddy up in the gallery taking pictures, so he waved.
Kurt hoped today would last forever.
  Birthday #5
“Can I have cupcakes?”
Kurt’s mother looked up from her book. “I don’t think we have any, sweetheart.”
“Can we have some Thursday?  My birthday is the last day of preschool.”
“It is?” she said, looking surprised. “Is it your birthday already?”
He nodded seriously. “Don’t you remember, Mommy? You were there.”
She laughed. “Well, you have me there.  What kind of cupcakes would you like, sweetie? And don’t say cheesecake. Those are two completely different kinds of dessert.”
Kurt’s hopeful expression fell. “Oh,” he said, clearly disappointed. Then his face brightened again. “Chocolate?”
She nodded. “That we can do.”
   Birthday #6
“Daddy!”
Burt sat up just in time to catch the little body that launched at him. “What’s wrong, slugger?”
“It’s my birthday!”
Grinning despite the way his heart was hammering at the abrupt awakening, Burt asked, “Yeah? I like birthdays. Do I get a present?”
“No,” the boy scoffed. “I get presents!”
Burt squinted at the clock. 3:15am. “Not until morning, you don’t.”
Kurt pouted and tried, “It’s almost morning.”
“Not close enough, kid. C’mere,” Burt pulled him into the warm bed between himself and his wife.
Kurt snuggled down and went right back to sleep.
Burt was less lucky.
 Birthday #7
Kids had started treating him funny this year. He was too fancy, too girly, holding hands was weird.
Nobody was coming.
“I’m sorry, sweetie.”
“Am I too late?”
They jumped as a little black girl with pom-pom hair popped out of nowhere.
“I’m Mercedes,” she greeted. “We just moved here. Mom said you would have invited me if you’d known.”
“I’m Kurt.” He smiled. “Do you like tea parties?”
“Is there cake?”
Mrs. Hummel beamed. “Cake, ice cream, and Kool-Aid.”
Kurt shrugged. “Nobody else came.”
She grabbed his hand like she’d known him forever. “More for us!  Happy Birthday, Kurt.”
 Birthday #8
Kurt took a deep breath, thought for a moment, and carefully blew out the candles. All but the extra one that his parents always put on his cake.
“Aren’t you gonna finish, bud?”
He looked from Daddy over to his mother, home again, but so frail he was sometimes afraid to hug her, worried she might pop like a fragile soap bubble. He offered her the candle. “Here, Mommy. Blow it out. Maybe you’ll get another year to grow on.”
The eyes of the two adults met, then Mommy nodded. The three of them blew out the final candle together.
 Birthday #9
Barely daring to hope, Kurt came down the stairs.  Birthday cakes and presents had been Mommy’s specialty.  Daddy had forgotten his own birthday and had nearly forgotten Christmas.
Kurt gasped when he saw it, waiting, shining and spectacular against the front door.
“A bike!”
Bright green, sissy bars with foil streamers, and a banana seat. Perfect!
Burt smiled. He had scoffed a such a “girly” bike when Kurt spotted it at the toy store. But now, looking at the all-too-rare joy in his son’s eyes and feeling the approving smile his wife would have given, he nodded. It was perfect.
 Birthday #10
Buying gifts was tough when your kid always clammed up on you. A dad had to be observant.
Ten years old. A landmark like that needed something special, but the only thing Kurt seemed into was clothes. He had enough of those for ten kids.
He’d probably like a Barbie he could change in and out of different outfits, but Burt cringed at the thought.
He did doodle pretty good though. Sure, it was mostly pictures of clothes, but that was a start.
A fancy sketchpad with a case and a hundred different colored pencils. Yeah, that was the ticket.
 Birthday #11
“Dad, where are we going?”
“You’ll see.”
Kurt sighed with exaggerated impatience. He had come home from school to find Dad waiting at the truck, ordering him to get in, then not saying another word. The suspense was killing him.
“Ta-Dahhhh!”
They had pulled up in front of a nondescript brick building. “Columbus Culinary Arts?”
“You like to cook right?  Well, we’re gonna fix your birthday dinner this year with the help of a real chef. Lessons are once a week for the next couple months.”
Gourmet cooking lessons!
“Oh wow. Dad, this is amazing!”
Burt grinned. “Happy Birthday, kid.”
 Birthday #12
Last year’s surprise had gone so well that Burt had decided on a repeat. But when he saw the excitement on Kurt’s face at finding a pair of tickets inside his birthday card turn to disappointment and horror, quickly masked with a fake smile, he knew he’d goofed.
“I know baseball isn’t your thing,” he said, almost pleading. “But you’ve never seen a live game before. It’s a whole different experience. It’s a home game. We can yell and scream, and cheer our team on with thousands of other fans.”
The stiff not-smile never wavered. “Sounds . . . fun.”
 Birthday #13
Dad had bought out one of the partners at the garage this spring and now owned a majority share of the renamed “Hummel Tires & Lube”. Kurt wanted to snicker at that name, but he was proud too.
His birthday this year coincided with Friday Night Dinner. Dad had invited all the mechanics over for a potluck. They’d had Mary’s special fried chicken, Cassius’s homemade cornbread, and Davy’s mac’n’cheese. Now Dad brought out the cake.
Kurt laughed. A sheet-cake with a tow-truck and two little plastic mechanics for decoration.
“You and me kid. Partners.”
The mechanics cheered and everybody dug in.
  Birthday #14
Kurt froze when he saw tickets peeping out of his card. Not again. Noise, sunburn, unhealthy food, tacky uniforms, and Dad trying so hard to make a boring sport seem like fun.
He sighed and pasted on a smile, which quickly transformed into shock.
“Wicked?” he squeaked, staring hard at the little papers as if the printing might change if he dared to look away.
“Embassy Theater is giving regional business owners a discount this year,” Burt said apologetically. “It’s just a traveling production, not real Broadway, but I …”
His apology was cut off by a joyful teenaged hug.
 Birthday #15
“Don’t worry, son, you got this.  Just remember everything I taught you.  You got a whole year to get ready for the practical test.”
“I know.”
“And it’s okay if you don’t get it right the first time. Not everybody does.”
“I’m fine, Dad.”
“I’ll be right here waiting for you when you’re through.”
“I know that, Dad. I’ll be okay, really.”
At that moment, Kurt’s name was called and he sprang from his hard green plastic chair. His dad’s repeated reassurances were making him jumpy.
Twenty minutes later, a brightly grinning Kurt was waving his freshly minted driver’s permit.
 Birthday #16
Burt patted the giant blue bow the dealership had provided over the hood of the shining black Lincoln Navigator.
Kurt was gonna flip! He’d passed his DMV test with flying colors and was no doubt showing off his shiny new license to all his friends at school.
He paused. Did Kurt have any friends to share this accomplishment with? He always seemed so alone.
Maybe that’s why he had decided to spoil his son with a huge birthday gift.
It wasn’t right for such a good kid to be all alone. Maybe having his own ride would help change that.
  Birthday #17
A dozen teens gathered in Kurt’s basement to celebrate the end-of-school, non-disbanding of Glee, and Kurt’s birthday, all in one.
“Not like ten years ago,” Mercedes said to Kurt, as they watched Mike and Brittany dance.
“Ten years?”
“Your seventh? It was just you, me, your mom, and lots of chocolate cake.”
Kurt was astounded. “That was you?”
“You forgot?”
“I remember a little girl who showed up and invited herself to my party.”
“And I remember a little boy who needed a friend as much as I did.”
He squeezed her hand. “Thanks for coming.”
She squeezed back. “Always.”
 Birthday #18
Kurt stared at his birthday cake, unable to think of anything to wish for.
He was 18-years-old today, a legal adult. He had new family in Carole and Finn, his dad was on the mend, he would be back at McKinley for senior year, he had made his first visit to New York City, and he had a boyfriend! One who had just told Kurt that he loved him for the very first time.
‘I wish for next year to be as good as this,” he thought, taking a deep breath and blowing.
The flames flickered out, all except one.
 Birthday #19
Senior year had been a disaster, and now he had not gotten into NYADA, despite his well-praised audition.
“Blaine wants me to spend another year here,” he whispered. “I just can’t.”
Burt’s callused hand squeezed his neck. “Then don’t. You’re 19 now, a man. You got talents galore, work experience from the garage, enough drive for ten kids, and your mom’s life insurance money to give you a start.”
“But…”
“No buts,” Burt said firmly. “You go on to New York and grab life by the balls.”
Kurt felt his optimism rise. “Help me look for apartments?”
“You got it.”
 Birthday #20
What a difference a year made.
He’d dumped Blaine after being cheated on less than a month after leaving Lima.  He was enrolled at FIT and sharing a shoebox apartment with a fellow design student and a Broadway hopeful, but both were young gay men from small towns, and they had a lot in common.
“Happy Birthday!” Elliott shouted, tossing a handful of glittery sequins at him.
Adam came in playing the birthday song on a kazoo he had gotten from who-knows-where. “Ready for Callbacks? $20 on who gets the first hot guy’s number!”
“I already have yours. I win!”
 Birthday #21
“I have the honor of presenting your first official grown-up drink,” Adam said, smiling lovingly at his grinning boyfriend of nearly a year. He set down a martini glass with a cherry floating on top. “A Manhattan seemed appropriate.”
Kurt beamed and gave him a kiss, then took an experimental sip. “I’ve had alcohol before,” he admitted. “Mostly wine, though.  Mm, this is good!”
“I thought you’d like it. Happy Birthday, my love.  May the future bring every good thing you wish for, and never more heartache than you can handle.”
Kurt could not have asked for a better sentiment.
THE END
