absolutely wild to me that people are genuinely saying “if Jews didn’t want antisemitism they shouldn’t have been Bad Jews” as if Israel represents all Jewish people or moreso that bigotry is ever justified. if someone can’t call out what the Israeli government is doing to Palestinians without being antisemitic they’re just a bigot. plenty of people have been able to do so, antisemitism is not inevitable. all people like that seem to do is harm everyone involved, Jewish people and Palestinian people. you’re not helping any kind of liberation with that.
People really cannot handle separating the government of Israel from Jews in general. People also had a hard time disconnecting Al Qaeda and ISIS from Islam, so I mean, I'm not surprised they can't do it here, either.
I'm on the side of the citizens. ALL of them. Everyone living in this region, regardless of nationality or religion. I am on their side. I want the government of Israel AND Hamas to lay down arms. But after that, to be honest, a huge weight does lay on the government of Israel to begin undoing decades of harm it has caused.
Netanyahu and his administration are absolutely committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. They have spent years abusing Palestinians. They've just ordered all people in north Gaza to "evacuate" to south Gaza within 24 hours. That's over 1 million people. That's impossible. They've cut off power and water and travel. It's inhumane. It's a war crime. Hands-down.
Hamas, on the other side, is just as genocidal - they just don't have as much power to enact it. They are holocaust deniers, they are openly antisemitic, they want all Jews in Israel gone or dead. Just because they claim they're "fighting for Palestinians" doesn't make them morally right. They are rapists, murderers, and kidnappers. They enforce Sharia law. They have also committed war crimes by attacking civilians.

if anyone on this website used a shred of critical thinking for one second they'd come to the conclusion that reports of hamas mass raping women is an obvious lie to turn support against the palestinian cause. israeli news has already admitted to lying about hamas beheading 40 babies. there is no substantive evidence for any rapes. israeli propaganda is utilising your own prejudices about muslim men as violent misogynists against you. one israeli hostage (a woman with children!!) testified on israeli tv that she was treated very well and the kidnappers promised they wouldnt hurt her. of course it's terfs eating up this shit too. there's nothing more powerful than a white woman as victim narrative. as though the israeli state hasn't been committing horrific sex crimes against palestinian women, children, and men for decades.

Daily update post:
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that a message from Yahya Sinwar (the Hamas leader inside Gaza) was passed to Hamas leaders who live outside of it, and the essence of that is not to worry, because Sinwar believes they have Israel exactly where they want it. In other words, when Hamas is estimated by Israel to have at least 12,000 of its terrorists killed, and despite the fact that they could stop the death of Gazans by releasing the Israeli hostages and surrendering, Sinwar doesn't see any issues with where the war is at. I think the most important part is this: "According to the report, Sinwar also told the Hamas officials that the terror group is prepared for Israel’s expected operation in Rafah, the Gaza Strip’s southernmost city, and is relying on the high civilian death toll reported by the Hamas-run health ministry to cause enough global outcry that Israel is forced to withdraw" (my emphasis). At what point do people realize that they are serving the interests of Hamas' mass murderers, kidnappers and rapists?
Tumblr media
A few days ago, I wrote about the attempt to allow aid trucks into northern Gaza directly from Israel, instead of bringing it to the south, and waiting for Gaza-based elements to deliver it to the north. This means an escort of Israeli soldiers is accompanying the trucks. This is the route the aid trucks cross:
Tumblr media
Today, these aid trucks were stormed by a huge crowd, and according to the IDF, many people died from pushing and trampling (at the link you can see aerial video footage of the stampede), not an unheard of phenomenon when a huge herd of people all rush in at the same time. On top of that, some Gazans were also advancing at the soldiers securing the aid trucks. The soldiers felt undr threat, and they opened fire at those charging at them, but according to their estimate, this accounts for only 10 of the dead. Still, you can count on the anti-Israel crowd to adopt a narrative that, immediately and without investigation, calls this a massacre and blames every single death on Israel, not on Hamas, which started the war that made even aid supply into a dangerous and complicated situation.
Tumblr media
Here's a reminder that even in the middle of the war, when no one is paying attention to it, Israel continues to demolish illegal homes built by Jews. But you're never gonna hear about it, not even during more normal times, because it doesn't fit the anti-Israel narrative, so anti-Israel sources will only ever tell you about it, when Israeli demolishes illegal homes built by Arabs.
Tumblr media
As threats to British Members of Parliament (MPs) are rising due to threats from the anti-Israel crowd, the UK has allocated bodyguards to some of them, along with 31 million pounds designated for the security of British democracy. If some of the most powerful people in Britain are that scared, what do you think Jews there are going through? Indeed, today we heard that 72 million pounds are meant to help secure Jewish centers and institutions in the UK. The problem is that until the root of the problem will be tackled, this is just taking care of the symptoms, instead of curing the disease.
Tumblr media
Israeli security forces have stopped two Palestinian cousins, one 17 years old and the other 29 years old, from carrying out an independent terrorist attack. I refer to such attacks as independent in order to point out that they're not a part of some greater plot, unlike every single terrorist attack on Oct 7, which were all interconnected, and rocket attacks since, which are launched as a part of the war that Hamas started waging against Israel. However, some of these attacks ARE connected to Hamas. Apparently, these two cousins contacted Hamas in Gaza to get help in committing their intended crime.
Tumblr media
This is 59 years old Michel Nissenbaum.
Tumblr media
He made alyiah on his own from Brazil when he was 13 years old. Friends say that coming to Israel saved him. He worked in hi-tech, as well as a tour guide, and volunteered with Bedouin kids. Here he is with one such group:
Tumblr media
On Oct 7, Michel heard that the Re'im IDF base was under attack from Hamas terrorists. Knowing that his granddaughter was there, visiting her dad, Michel decided to go there and get her out. While he was making his way to the base, he stopped responding to messages. His granddaughter was rescued from the place hours later, but Michel himself had disappeared. He's believed to be kidnapped in Gaza, but his family is scared, because he wasn't spotted in any of the pics or vids released by Hamas.

i rise with the moon
- artist musings under the cut -
since i first watched atla as a kid, i've wanted katara to embrace blood bending. she was so powerful and imo the skill wasn't as immoral as the show depicted it.
also, i rewatched the puppetmaster ep last night, and i thought about how intense of a character hama was. she found a way to survive being held and tortured as a prisoner of war for decades, developed a new form of waterbending to escape, and then the ptsd from that resulted in her becoming a serial killer/kidnapper. fascinating. tragic. i want to know more.
then katara emotionally connected to this woman from the same culture, who could teach her southern water tribe bending techniques that she thought were lost to genocide. but hama had turned to violence against non-military citizens of the fire nation, much like jet did, because of the abuse (war crimes?) they endured. it's another character that katara related to about the affects of the war, only to learn that they chose violence. reflecting on this, the scene where she chose not to kill the man who murdered her mother is even more powerful because she chose to break that cycle.

Isaiah 49:24-25 Can the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of a tyrant be rescued? For thus says the Lord: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.”

'bout a month and a half ago I sent in a rant about how scared every Jewish person has been since 10/7, since "the world stopped pretending it cared about us" well I'm done being scared. Now I'm just fucking angry. I'm angry that people think we deserve this. I'm angry that people are spreading misinformation on purpose. I'm angry that I can't do anything except pray that things will turn out okay. I'm angry that they get to march in the streets and I'm forced to stay inside so I don't get stabbed. I'm angry that they get to scream in my face how I'm a "colonizer, genocide supporter, kill babies for fun" and I'm forced to stay quiet so that I don't get killed. I'm angry that they get to shut down bridges, airports, disrupt society, riot, be violent and everyone calls it activism. But if any Jew dares to ask that our family be released from their torturous kidnappers we're jumped on. I'm angry that Jews are celebrated for 'refuting their Jewishness' but to denounce Hamas is something none of these people can seem to do. I'm angry that nobody fucking cares.
I wish I could punch someone and call it 'activism'. I wish I could march in the streets begging for my family to be saved. I wish I could scream in the faces of the people who hang "rape is a valid form of resistance" posters. I wish I could do anything. but I can't even tell my classmates and coworkers why I'm not coming in on April 22nd, I can't explain why I can't answer an email on Saturday.
Thank you for reaching out again!
You know, it was quite cathartic to read your vent. I too feel angry, many of us do. And anger can be a scary emotion to have, especially when society tries telling us we're not allowed to feel it. But you are. Feel that anger, talk to it, understand it. It comes from a place of deep pain and betrayal, and like any other emotion it is not only valid but important. Hold your anger like it's a child and say what you wish people would say to you. Ask it things like "why do you feel angry? What do you want to tell me? For how long do you need to feel angry? How can I help you feel better when you're ready to feel better?". Within what's safe for you and others, don't shy away from your anger. If you need some ideas of ways to cope with that anger, to express it in healthy ways or to calm down, don't be afraid to reach out and ask.
Also important, don't let only anger exist. Remember to hold space for other emotions.
Stay safe, and honestly get rightfully angry once in a while

Daily reminder you can be pro palestinian without supporting Hamas, a terror organization that slaugthers, burns and rapes innocent people, kidnappes women and children and elderly people and tortures them after it murdered their family members. the same Hamas who declared more than once about its goal of killing jews. it will require somewhat of a complex thinking but not that much. you can do it. the other option is being a full on nazi supporter.

Bitches be like "Sure we took over a region illegally, mass kill tons of civilians, restrict access to basic needs, poison their water, blockade their goods, prevent them from being recognized as a state by the UN, destroy their crops, and kill our own people because we mistake them civilians, but Hamas is the bad guy because they did XYZ" Bro you don't get to destroy a peoples way of life then get to play the victim when they fight back.
Do the methods and outcomes suck sometimes? Yea, absolutely, it doesn't excuse actions groups like Hamas take. We can recognize those are still bad BUT CAUSING THE VERY SITUATION AND PLAYING THE VICTIM IS HORSESHIT
"But they did bad thing"
And you took their home 76 years ago with the authority of the British crown after several attempts to other parts of the world including Northern Africa, Madagascar, and New York, seemingly ignoring Palestine was to your ethnostate until you decided their land would be perfect. Maybe, just maybe, it's got less to hatred of your religion (Ignoring all the Jews and Christians living along side Muslims in Palestine with no issues, plus all the graves of Jewish people they *checks notes* didn't destroy and in fact maintained) and more of... you know...the ACTIONS
"But your justify their actions"
Yea bro, I am. I am not excusing them, but this is like saying a dude should be charged with murder because he killed his kidnapper who already killed his family right in front of him.
That's some of you, some of you are bitches

by Phyllis Chesler and Mandy Sanghera,
But here is something about which feminists in general and #MeToo feminists in particular are usually sensitive.
This is what we’ve all seen. Hamas beasts parading the dead body of a naked Israeli-German woman; pushing a still living Israeli woman with bloodstained pants (evidence of her having been raped), being taken hostage; Israeli female hostages being called sex slaves in Arabic by their kidnappers.
We now have some videos of Hamas men raping Israeli women, both dead and alive; the rapes are accompanied by hoarse and blood-curdling references to Allah.
While the whole world was outraged about sexual violence against Ukrainian women in Bucha, Tigrayan women in Ethiopia, Yazidi women in ISIS held territory—apparently, not all women are equal when it comes to denouncing sexual violence.
In war, all women suffer and now is the time for the anti-colonial/anti-racist feminist movement to be united against all sexual violence. We do not have to “take sides,” support one people over another in a war-zone, in order to condemn the kidnapping of children and grandmothers—and the raping of girls and women. And the rampant be-heading of babies.
It is worrisome that we are seeing, once again, what has happened to Jewish women in pogroms century after century in Christian Europe and in the Islamic world.
The world—and this includes all those champions of human rights and women’s rights, seems to be turning a blind eye or even celebrating sexual violence perpetrated by terrorists on Israeli Jewish women—and upon all those who live among them.

As a north american, it is WILD to me that people here justify the harm done to Israelis by hamas, because Israel are supposedly "oppressors*."
Like, do these people realize that America and Canada don't exactly have clean hands themselves???
Imagine if Native Americans* decided to rise up tomorrow and start attacking other North Americans, would the people who justify harm against Israel still find a way to justify harm when it was against them and their families??
I have a bad feeling some of them would. Ya know, sell grandma to her kidnappers to absolve yourself of white guilt.
*not calling Israel oppressors btw, just trying to make a point
*also not attacking Native Americans, once again just making a point
Yeah its really fucking funny but unsurprising that Middleclass Mary would rather insert herself into an ethnic conflict 8000km away than pack her own bags and leave to Europe lmao I thought these cucarachas were big believers in direct action? Direct yourself back to England queen!

Guys can we talk about hostages and hostage taking for a minute? Because I’ve seen some concerning things and I would like to clarify-
It is NOT a good thing to take hostages.
My point when talking about how the Israeli hostages were cared for is not to make you go “oh okay actually maybe they were okay to be kidnapped bc the kidnappers didn’t starve them”
The point is to combat misinformation and lies and the deep and pervasive dehumanization of Palestinians. I want you to see that when Israel says “we can kill all these people and it’s fine because Hamas is so evil and really that makes all of Palestine not really people or innocents at all” it is not only bullshit because people are people no matter what, but it is also bullshit because the “facts” they’re basing this argument on are lies.
And yes, we need to acknowledge the circumstances. Taking hostages is literally the only tool that militant resistance fighters have to get any bargaining power, because the alternative is just to bomb everything which no one wants. It is also true that if Israel were not violently colonizing Palestine, there would be no need for a resistance and therefore no hostages would’ve been taken in the first place. And I am very glad that the Israeli hostages were not mistreated or abused or neglected in the horrific ways that Palestinian prisoners are known to be in Israeli jails.
But all of this does not mean that those hostages wanted to be taken hostage or that none of them will have any trauma from this or that they weren’t desperately waiting to go home. They are still victims.
When I show videos of Hamas having positive interactions with the hostages they are releasing, my hope is to demonstrate that they are not Jew-hating evil men who steal innocent Jews away to abuse them and rape them for no other reason than that they are violent monsters. They are literally just people, and their cause is just. That is what I want you to learn. Not “maybe the hostages are perfectly fine with being hostages”. Please be careful and aware of the rhetoric you are using when you defend Palestine, because we do not want to fall into the same dehumanizing and diminishing/dismissal of trauma that we are trying to combat.
