Hi All!

Hello, all 503 of you! I took a very long hiatus, and have returned in all of my writing glory to continue certain series, rewrite other ones, and continue with my single posts!

So, if you had a request I never got to, and you still want me to fulfill, or you still want to be tagged when I get back to writing my series, just comment on this post or send me a pm and I would love to get back into the swing of things!

Steve Harrington on BookTok

Older Steve who downloads tik tok and begins to make book tok videos without ever having read much. Instead, he makes it like a collaborative book club where his followers suggest books and after he gives them his review.

At first people love him bc he’s this cute fifty year old man with glasses and a husband who was a famous metal star in the nineties and early 2000s. Then there are other people who give him the Pedro Pascal treatment of calling him “daddy” and thirsting for him. Steve shuts that down immediately.

The popular first request was the LOTR series and Steve has to apologize and say that his husband reads them to him and has been doing it for decades now.

Then comes Harry Potter and Steve is a little apprehensive because the author is a piece of shit. But he does read them and has a mini obsession over it.

Then he moves on to other books, and then the queer community of booktok finds him and begin requesting a bunch of queer books. Steve cries while reading The Song of Achilles, but loves it.

Then, they make him read a book full of smut, and Steve makes a video halfway through the book where he’s like;

“You guys are making me read porn!” You can clearly hear Eddie cackling in the background

Eddie: *pops his head into frame* I, for one can account this as true. Steve’s tits do jiggle excitedly

Eddie stitches the video with an old home movie where Steve is running down the stairs shirtless, and his tits do in fact jiggle

Steve makes a video with Eddie where Eddie explains how he annotated his books and shows his oldest copies of the hobbit and LOTR.

Then there’s a small clip of one of Steve’s annotations in one book and it says “slay”

Cut to Eddie laughing asking where Steve got that word from and how long he’s been using it secretly in his annotations.

Steve gets an opportunity to partner up with audible or some shit to make a small collection of his favorite books into a subscription bundle.

He’s so excited when he also starts seeing bookshops make a little table with a sign saying “Steve’s Favorites”

He’s so exited because reading and books was something he hated for so many years, but also something he managed to turn positive.

Some stores also display a “Steddie Favorites” with the LOTR series and some of Steve’s selected books.

A thick layer of snow covers the ground by the time the first Hogsmeade trip rolls around. You're bundled up in Theo's scarf and a thick jacket. Theo has his arm slung over your shoulders as he pulls you close to him to give you some of his warmth. 

The two of you trail behind Blaise, Pansy, Draco and his two goons. Although, Draco slipped away from the group not long ago, giving you a weary look. 

"Let's go to Honeyduke's! My sugar quills are almost gone", whines Pansy and you roll your eyes.

"We're going to Tomes and Scrolls, I need a new book", you say but the others don't pay you any mind, already closing the door behind them.

"Why do we even hang out with these people?", you grumble to Theo with an eye roll as he holds the door to the bookstore open for you.

Dusting the snow out of his and your hair, he answers, "because I like Blaise, and Blaise tolerates Draco and Pansy. And you like me, so you hang out with me. And Draco is family so you have to hang out with him."

You roll your eyes again, knowing he's right. You start to browse around, pulling interesting books out to inspect them. Theo goes from hovering around you to going around the store for himself.

Once you've finished and queued up to the register, Theo appears out of nowhere and plucks the books out of your hands. "Theo!", you protest, trying to get the books back.

"No, let me pay for them." He holds the up high and out of your reach.

"I can pay for them myself perfectly fine!", you protest.

Theo holds you away at arm's length as he slams the books on the counter and the amount the books cost. The lady behind the counter smiles fondly as she sees you and Theo — mostly you to be fair — struggling against each other while she wraps up the book.

With a triumphant smile, Theo leads you outside back into the snow as he holds the books. Because of course, he doesn't let you hold them.

A while further you spot Hermione and a smile spreads to your lips. "Hermione!", you call out and drag Theodore over her and her friends.

"No, why?", he whines in a whisper to you as he sees where you're pulling him.

"Because I like Hermione, and Hermione is friends with Harry and Ron. And you like me, so you hang out with me." You repeat his words from earlier with a grin on your face, which earns an eye roll from the boy.

Harry's eyes flicker from you to Theodore and to your interlocked hands. His face falls and he turns towards Ron, who looks annoyed to see you in general.

"Hi", you greet the girl, letting go of Theo. The two of you walk arm-in-arm, happily chatting while the boys walk behind you in tense silence; Ron in between Harry and Theo.

"I mean, Snape got the job and he still is a sour puss. The other day he gave us three inches extra on our essay because some students in the back of the classroom were talking", you complain and Hermione laughs.

Suddenly, someone screams and the five of you stop. A girl lays on the snow-covered ground while her friend stands over her. "I warned her! I warned her not to touch it!"

The girl suddenly starts to be pulled from left to right before floating in the air, her arms spread wide. Her mouth open wide as a breathless scream escapes her and a terrified look on her face before she drops helplessly.

Theo quickly rushes towards you and puts a protective arm around your middle.

"Don't get any closer. Go back, all of you." Hagrid appears out of nowhere and picks up the now unconscious girl. Something lays on the ground and as Harry moves towards it, the giant quickly stops him. 

Shocked, you cling to Theo. "Come, let's go back to the castle. It's going to storm and we can do nothing", he says to you softly and you nod. He leads you back to safety, leaving the golden trio behind to trail after Hagrid.

Even though the events of the afternoon still spook you, a certain letter pulls your attention away once you're back in your dorm room.

"Have you also received Slughorn's invitation?" You make room in between Blaise and Theo and let yourself fall on the couch. In your hands is an invitation to a supper of the Slug Club.

Blaise nods and holds up his invitation. You smile and bump against him. 

"Whatever is it?", asks Theo incredulously as he studies the letter. 

"Professor Slughorn likes to invite students to join his parties to dine and converse", explains Blaise. "It's only for the best witches and wizards, with great family ties."

It's a not-so-subtle jab towards Draco and Theo. The latter sneers and Draco rolls his eyes, mumbling under his breath that he didn't even want to join even if the professor would beg him to.

You turn to Blaise. "It is tonight, right? Should we go together?"

He agrees and the two of you agree to meet up before going to the dinner in the common room to walk together to Slughorn's office, not noticing the irritated frown on Theo's face.

The dinner was... okay. You noticed a few fellow Slytherins. Such as the Carrow twins, which gives you the creeps with their weird-looking eyes. But also Harry and Hermione and the youngest Weasley sibling were invited. 

Harry gave you an awkward smile while Hermione excitedly sat next to you, chatting away about everything and nothing but mostly the coursework.

As you're looking at Slughorn's table with all kinds of group photos, you don't notice the others leaving. You spot a familiar face and grab the photo frame. It's... your father. Tom Riddle is a young boy in the picture, maybe sixth year, if not fifth. He has a proud look on his face, his dark hair neatly swept to the side. His gaze bores into your soul and you quickly put down the frame.

The next frame you focus on is one of the Slytherin Quidditch team from a while back.

"I see you've spotted your family", says Professor Slughorn with a laugh. He gives a belly laugh as you jump a metre up in the air. "I didn't mean to scare you, Miss Black."

You give a sheepish laugh while turning back towards the photos. "It's an impressive collection, Professor."

Slughorn takes the Quidditch photo and looks at it sadly. "I've taught almost all Blacks. Except for Sirius, that is. But Regulus was my favourite. Bright boy. It saddened me to hear he had passed away very young."

You look back at the picture and frown. So that is Sirius' brother. You didn't actually know that he was dead. You recall seeing him on the family tree but Sirius didn't say anything about him.

Your eyes flicker towards Tom Riddle and the professor seems to notice. Instead of saying anything about it, he instead claps in his hands. "It is getting rather late, wouldn't you say? I wouldn't want you to get in trouble. Off to your common room, Miss Black."

With a final goodbye, you leave Slughorn's office and walk straight towards the Slytherin common room. Once you enter, you see a sulking Theo sitting on one of the couches, arms folded over each other with a fat frown on his face.

You let yourself fall next to him and cuddle up next to him.

"Did you have fun? Going to Slughorn's party with Zabini. Did you also flirt with Potter?"

You pull your head back in surprise, raising an eyebrow. You study his face and body language. A grin grows on your face. "You're jealous."

Theo's head snaps towards you. "Am not!"

"I thought you liked Blaise!"

"I do. But not when he tries to steal my girl."

You laugh out loud. "So you totally are jealous! Oh, Theo... You have nothing to worry about." You pinch one of his flaming cheeks.

He pushes you away and turns his face to the other side. 

You pout. "Theo... I promise I'll take you with me once I have the chance."

"Promise?"

Laying your head on his shoulder, you look up at him. "Pinky promise." You hold up said fingers and the two of you hook around each other's finger, before pressing your thumbs against each other.

you flop onto the cold floor, groaning from the latest dance routine your choreographer had just made. you know he did it just so he could spite you, to show you that, yes he knows hip-hop and yes, he's the superior dancer here.

"miss two left feet! how was that for a routine, huh? wasn't it the best I've done so far?" sweat dots jungkook's hairline in the sexiest way possible but instead of complimenting him, you flip him off, twice. "knowing i have two left feet, you still choose to torture me?" you look up at him towering over you, gleaming grin always so annoying. and cute. but also Annoying with a capital A.

"eyyy, all in good fun right? i'm closing up so get out, now." he says it in a fake stern voice which has got you rolling your eyes and getting up from the cool floor, grabbing your bag and leaving, shutting the door loudly like you always do. you put in your earphones and listen to the song jungkook and you were just dancing to, head bopping with the beat.

it's when you stop at a pedestrian crossing and casually look at your surroundings is when you spot the man, eyes boring into you. his all black ensemble doesn't make it better and when you break the eye contact, you find your hands shaking and you slip one into your pocket, lowering the volume so you could get a better hold of your surroundings. you glance at the old woman next to you, counting her money with a rickety trolley filled with boxes with what would've been tangerines. you walk with her when the light turns green, seemingly interested in what she had to say and show, heart rate raising when you see the shadow of the man getting bigger and bigger.

you wish the ground would swallow you up, right now. the innocent old lady went on her way, wishing you a good night and you couldn't go with her, making the way to your apartment even longer and tiresome. it's almost 12 and you spot the big 7/11 sign, immediately walking and going to the section with drinks. you randomly pick up a bottle and look at the price, making it seem like you're thinking about it, when in reality you're just realising that you couldn't call any of your close friends tonight, remembering the texts in the group chat and why it was only jungkook and you tonight.

you keep the bottle down and take your phone, fingers unconsciously and rapidly dialing jungkook's contact. you put it to your ear, iu's lilac playing as his ringtone puts a slight smile on your face.

"yo, two left feet, you left your speaker-"

"jungkook listen i can't tell this slowly so listen quick," you look around, finding the cashier playing away on his phone with the same man looking at the chocolates by the counter, "there's someone following me and he's gotten into the store i'm currently in and oh god," you hands shake even more when you can't find the man there anymore, trying your best to breathe properly. "where are you?" jungkook says calmly but you know he's rushing past people, apologies coming out from his lips. "the fancy 7/11 near my place, you know, the one with the expensive water bottles."

"stay on the phone with me."

he's breathing quickly and you're slightly shocked at his quick response, your feet glued to the floor. "where are you in the shop?" you look at the bottles arranged neatly in front of you, "the drinks section, they've got mogu mogu too now, shall I pick one up?" from your peripheral vision, you can see the aisle not empty, making it worser for your heart or mind.

"pick up the apple ones, the orange one isn't that tasty, blueberry should be good too," he must be jogging, you think, his earrings clashing against his phone. you slightly step away from the open fridge and immediately regret your decision, seeing the man walk upto your section. "j-jungkook, he's coming closer, where are you?" you whisper shakily, the bottles you held in your hand falling to the floor. "i can see the sign, i'm there okay? try to move-" a gloved hand puts the bottles back in your hand, his fingers brushing against yours eliciting goosebumps on your skin, the chill air from infront of you not helping you. "i've been seeing you all night and i thought i could take you home, you seem alone-"

"i don't think you should, really"

"darling, there you are! this place is pretty big, isn't it?" jungkook's pulling you into his side immediately, cutting you off. his smile drops immediately when he looks at the man, who doesn't seem very pleased. "i was talking to her-" "and you shouldn't anymore. now, leave before i make a scene, mister." jungkook puts you behind him, effectively shielding you. the stalker seems to finally go away reluctantly and your human shield turns to you, pulling you close.

"you're okay now," he murmurs into your hair, soothing hand rubbing your back up and down. you don't even register the tiny kiss he places on your forehead, "i don't feel like having mogu mogu now," you say quietly. jungkook nods and offers to buy you ice cream and you end buying bunches of lollies and ice cream cones. he pays before you can and he practically forces you to get on his back, his excuse being, "you're tired, i can see it. now, it's piggy back time, miss two left feet." which makes you get on him quickly, urging him to get home before the sweet treats melt quickly.

jungkook falls face first on your couch and you follow, sitting on the floor and leaning against it, mind still reeling from tonight's events. a tattooed hand reaches out for a grape ice lolly from the packet in your lap and opens it, the sweet yet sour ice poking at your lips. you look at the weirdo behind you, puzzled look shot at him. "have it, i know you didn't have anything to eat tonight after practice." you take a bite, wincing at the cold hitting your teeth and eyebrows raising at the taste. a gentle hand falls on your shoulder, jungkook also having a bite, eyebrows furrowed at the taste. you have been this close to him before but it's always in the presence of your friends, their wiggling eyebrows and suggestive eyes gestured at your close proximity with him.

it's like electricity flowing through you, breathtaking in a good way. jungkook silently feeds you the grape lolly, hands reaching for the vanilla ice cream. you can't stop yourself when you say, "can you stay? please?" you look at him nibbling the soft ice cream, eyes on you. "of course, where's your blankets? lets camp out here tonight!"

turns out "camping out here tonight!" is a Harry Potter marathon, popcorn in the bowl rapidly disappearing, courtesy of your human shield of the night. he watches you mouth dialogues hermione says, giggling and stuffing buttery popcorn in your mouth. it's towards the end of prisoner of azkaban when harry is saving his godfather and himself, jungkook decides it's been a night, your head on his chest and your hands wrapped around him in your sleep.

he quietly switches off the tv and brings you down with him, your big comfy couch enough for the both of you. he hopes you don't kick him out in the morning, already attached to the way you snuggle to him and enjoying the feeling of simply cuddling you.

the sunlight piercing through your eyelids wakes you up, annoyed at the sudden brightness. the snoring behind you and the arm on your waist brings you back to last night. you get up and look at him, mouth slightly open and face serene. you're slightly shocked he stayed but you don't say anything, feeling bubbly and smiley despite of what happened last night. he got into action quickly, making you like him more than you have before. a lone finger pushes his bangs away from his face, admiring him just for a little while longer.

"take a picture, it'll last longer, darling."

you move away from him, flinging the shared blanket off you, getting up and stretching your tired limbs. "can't believe you stayed, jungkook," you say honestly, looking back at him sitting up, eyes on you. "well, i promised, didn't i?" you nod, "its just surprising, that's all, given our 'history' and all," he chuckles at the stress you give for the word, "sure, darling" he gets up, "is it that difficult to believe i would do something nice for you?" he looks at you, face getting closer to you.

"yes it is, actually. do you not recall the times you purposely made me stay the nights to 'help you perfect the choreography' or when you point out my mistakes on infront of so many people?" you walk past him, shoulders pushing past his and walking to the kitchen, jungkook hot on your heels.

"you're a great dancer, you know i'll always need your help plus can't you take a bit of teasing? you don't think i notice you doing the same when our friends are around? you punching my arm at every chance you get or making me somehow lose at 'game of life'?!" you look at him, hie chest heaving up and down, "calm down, you big baby, it's not my fault you lose at such a simple game? don't get so worked up over something so little, okay?" you pass him a glass of water, already having downed an ice cold glass of water, chewing on the ice cubes.

"i don't get why you're getting so frustrated over something like this, it's not like i mean much to you and we're arguing like this everytime we-"

"dammit because i love you!"

well, that shut you up. you look at him, his eyes wide and mouth hanging slightly.

"what i actually meant was-" "that you love me? i got it the first time, thanks."

you turn around and lean on the kitchen counter. you've always thought what would happen if you ever confessed your feelings for jungkook, never having thought what would happen if the opposite happens.

"hey," he starts, hand on your shoulder, turning you around, "can you please say something? i feel like I'm being left on read, you know." you smile and laugh sheepishly at the random comparison, head leaning on his chest. "i guess, the feeling's mutual." you mumble, hands slowly going around him. he wraps an arm around you, his tattooed hand lifting your chin up, "what do you mean you guess?" he teases, lips breaking into that big smile you love. you mimic his wide smile, hugging him tightly. he presses his lips to yours gently, holding you close like you'll disappear soon.

"glad the feeling's mutual, darling."

Top Nine TV Shows tag game

Was invited to do this by @lovesickfolly I'm going to do it with cdramas, bc that's what I'm into lately, but if anyone wants to do this, you can do it with any kind of show.

My top nine cdramas, in no particular order...

Before I begin, I should probably point out that I'm more "plot" over "ship." I like ships, but usually as a means to showing character depth; they're not the thing I tend to focus on the most.

What these nine have in common is:

good plot and writing - not just the plot, but the storytelling

3D characters who are also likeable

hooked my attention - my mind didn't wander while watching, AND I wanted to watch more than one episode in a row

memorable

1 - Word of Honor🎨

Martial arts adventures (+ a steampunk sect), BL.

This was the first cdrama I watched, and I loved it and it still has a special place in my heart. I rewatched along later with @ginsoakedgirl80 and it was as enjoyable to watch the 2nd time as it was the 1st.

Awesome story and characters, beautiful scenery. And it gave me my first two favorite drama actors.😆*cough* My fav characters were, in order: Ye Baiyi and the Scorpion King. My fav actors, the same two, but reversed; I like comedians, OK? XD

Just a word of advice to anyone planning to try this: I don't know why the opening scenes character-dump on you; most of those people aren't even that important. Just learn Prince Jin and Zhou Zishu (a few others will show up later, but you can learn them then), and then start learning names only once Zhou Zishu becomes a homeless drunk man.

2 - The Taoism Grandmaster (technically, I have a drawing WIP, but it'll probably stay a WIP)

If the Triwizard Tournament from Harry Potter and a Final Fantasy video game had a child in ancient China, you'd get this, complete with items shop before boss battles (the store ox is so cute!).

No but look, this is like my gremlin child. I'm not a fast watcher, but this is the only one which I binged so many episodes in a row, that it made me lose track of time, and before I knew it, it was past 2am on a weeknight and I had work the next day. I may have made it to 4am one of those nights; I don't remember. After it happened twice, I had to set an alarm. Have also watched twice+

Yes, the CG is bad, the costumes were cheap sometimes, and the plants did not pretend to not be plastic, but I love the story. It's well written and has so many details and ways things tie together. And THE CHARACTERS! They're all lovable dorks AND I LOVE THEM!

3 - The Legendary Life of Queen Lau🎨

Romcom.

AAAAAAAAA!! I love comedy and this was GREAT in that sense! Really had me laughing out loud every episode! This is one to watch more for the funny and ingenious situations than for plot, but it was SO enjoyable, I'd even watch them do slice of life. So cute, so fun, love it love it love it!!🥰 Another one that I rewatch whenever I need something uplifting and cute. Also, one of my two favorite OSTs. So uplifting and danceable!

Alright, those are my top 3. The ones I'm sentimental for. The stuff I squee over. But I have 16 starred on my list as excellent / recommendable, so let's have six more.

4 - Song of Youth

Case-solving; mini-cases and the one overarching one.

I loved the format of one case per couple of episodes, so it was broken up into smaller chunks. Super interesting and creative - each case was solved in an unconventional way, which was fun and engaging. All the actresses did a fantastic job. The jewelry, props, lighting, etc. were absolutely beautiful.

5 - The Blood of Youth🎨

Martial arts adventures with a group of friends.

Story: 💯Characters: 💯 Fights: 💯 Visuals: 💯OST: 💯

Xiao Se as the tired babysitter I love him! Wuxin! OMG Wuxin as the sassy fake monk who monologues before every fight and people just let him. I love him! (Wuxin spinoff, please! and I love his theme song!) The whole cast is gorgeous and acted wonderfully, so no sacrificing talent for looks; these people had both in spades. The supporting cast, too. OMG Baily Dongjun and the thunder guy!😍 It had funny moments. Mr. Sikong! The fights were SO creative... how many ways can you design a martial arts fight?? Way more than I thought! No two were similar; it was amazing, the creativity.

As an artist, I really enjoyed the cinematography... the scenery, lighting!! composition, all absolutely gorgeous. Those shots of Xiao Se with soft backlighting? Chef's kiss. And, as a photographer, I know they're not as easy to achieve as it looks. Alright, this one got 2 paragraphs already; need to move on, but watch if you haven't. It's on YouTube.

6 - Till the End of the Moon

Doomed love fantasy; watch them struggle against themselves and their destiny.

THIS IS SO GOOD!! The story is great, excellent plot and pacing. Characters are 3D and always surprising. Gorgeous costumes (Tantai Jin's especially! And the clam clan makeup!), sets, and special effects. THE SOUNDTRACK IS EMBEDDED IN MY BRAIN IT'S SO GOOD (🎶favs: "Use my Body as a Shield" or whatever it's called, I keep seeing different translated titles for it; "Reborn" instrumental; and "Holding on to a Thought" instrumental).

7 - The Blue Whisper

Fantasy romance and adventure. Merman. Animal-spirit people. Angst, treason, and undying hope.

Gosh this drama is so beautiful. This, Till the End of the Moon, and Blood of Youth are up there as the top 3 visuals in dramas I've completed (there are others that have stunned me visually, but haven't been able to watch in full). Excellent story, too. It's a tearjerker, but it's SO GOOD!

8 - My Uncanny Destiny

Romcom. "Would you still love me if I was a worm?"

Lots of fun. Very enjoyable and bingeable.

9 - Guardian, the one with Bai Yu and Zhu Yi Long

Modern urban superpowers type of thing, which is a genre I like, and the story is so good! By Priest, the same author for the Word of Honor novel. Never a dull moment. Tearjerker warning, but so good. Excellent theme song, too, btw. (I don't have any screencaps that aren't a spoiler, so that's what this is XD)

Thess vs Good Friday

Okay, please remind me never to do that again.

See, I thought I'd make a ... kind of early afternoon of it. Like, go out to the big Tesco for the pain meds and something nice for dinner etc, and then stop in Peckham on the way home to the second-hand DVD / games / electronics store there. Obviously the games not so much a thing for me, as my Gilmore doesn't have a disc drive and I can't use a controller, but I've been making it a point to start rebuilding a DVD collection. Streaming's just gone weird.

Anyway, the big Tesco was paaaaaaaaaacked. Once I got my mallet meds from the pharmacy counter, I considered just turning around and going back home because the queues were ridiculous and navigating was a nightmare. But I thought, "Well, I'm here now, so I guess I oughta". So I picked up fixings for party pork chops (which is a treat, believe me - pork got way expensive since Brexit) and some chicken mini fillets (I've got a few recipes in my "Easy Gluten-Free" cookbook that calls for those specifically) and some gluten-free soy sauce which I keep forgetting to get and some gluten-free bread because I thought a nice Sunday brunch of French toast would be nice--

...Ooh. French toast with apple bread. I should try that sometime.

Anyway, point is, I picked up a few bits and pieces, and braved the queue. One guy offered to let me go ahead of him, but he had like three items so I figured it wouldn't be worth it. But gods, it hurt. Still, I got my bits and pieces so hopefully worth it.

I debated not stopping at the second-hand place, but then I thought, eh, fuck it, let's see what's available. I mean, sure, I should be getting my copies of both versions of Flatliners today, but there's more than that. The main section wasn't giving me much, but the "Everything for £1" shelves were a gold mine. Weird, eclectic, and very-much-me collection, frankly: The Thomas Crown Affair (the Piers Brosnan / Rene Russo version), Gone With The Wind (I know it's got a bullshit take on slavery and the Civil War but a) I didn't get anywhere by only looking at one side of anything and b) it's a good piece of cinema even if you do have to watch it through the lens of "this behaviour was kind of execrable", so eh), Minority Report (more or less the same thing, except replace "objectional views of slavery" with "the existence of Tom Cruise"), Domino (the Kiera Knightley one about her being a bounty hunter), and The Woman In Black (because Daniel Radcliffe deserves way better than to be remembered for nothing more than Harry fucking Potter - I got to see him on stage in Equus and damn the man is a good actor).

Now, however, I am waiting for the regular paracetamol to kick in a little more so I can do something other than sit in this chair and flinch every time I have to move. That kind of bank holiday outing used to be just a mild annoyance for me. I hate that now it's a crippling thing.

Sagada for the longest time was only known to a few travelers who are fond of exploring offbeat destinations and it didn’t gain popularity among the growing travel community until a few years ago when the movie “That Thing Called Tadhana” went as a box office hit. In an instant Sagada was on the spotlight and everyone seems to be eyeing Kiltepan Peak, the place where the most iconic scene in the movie was shot. This place has so much promise that I can’t blame people for falling in love with its irresistible charm. Since Kiltepan Peak is no longer open to the public, we opted to go to Marlboro Hills for an unobstructed view of the marvelous sunrise over the dreamy sea of clouds instead. And I gotta say, we were surely not disappointed.

As we were walking, I was reminded of the movies I watched before because of the ambience of our environment which is dark, cold and foggy.  It was like a scene in Harry Potter, walking in the middle of the forbidden forest. The trek is easy, but the cold morning breeze together with the already-cold temperature is really something to watch for. We bought a few gloves and scarfs for added heat.

While trekking in the “piney” woods, the emerging fiery colors on the horizon kept diverting my attention. I could not wait to find a spot to take a snapshot of the rising sun. In a short while, we reached the summit. A few tourists were already there buying coffee and light breakfast. There were mini stores in the area and simple eateries where they sell hot beverages, warm meals, hot coffee or chocolate and souvenirs. We bought a bowl of champorado while waiting for the sun to rise.

The dramatic moment of the sun rising up the horizon with its crimson and orange colors engulfing everything in sight while the clouds spread like a sea of soft and foamy bubbles was so surreal. It was beyond perfect. I love how the mountains were slowly revealed while covered with clouds and how the sunlight illuminates the gorgeous and colorful panorama. It was a wonder worth falling in love a thousand times over.

Working on a mini kit. The glue in the kit is horrible... so I am going to have to figure something else out. Right now I am using super glue for the structural stuff and the kit glue for the paper background etc. This kit is definitely more 'cutesy' than I normally go for but it was this or 12 versions of some mix of Harry Potter book store/alley etc and that isn't my vibe anyway. Next step is to start putting together the props but that is for another night.
