Drinking age in Japan is 20. Shame on post-canon shinichi for underage drinking.
Related note, how did the also underage Hattori get his hands on alcohol to use as a gift to kogoro?
Oh well what's one more thing to add to his already long list of questionable choices? Lmao
Heiji using paikaru as a remedy for sickness will always remain comedy gold. I have no idea how he got a hold of it, I don't remember if it's mentioned. But I like to think that it was just around his house, maybe it was Heizo's or something, and he just- took it. "I need a present for when I get to Tokyo" I want to think that it was a present for Kogoro too, because he just appeared out of nowhere and bothered them with Shinichi's search.
But did he plan to go to their house from the very beginning then...? or was it just something that came up after doing some investigating and finding out Ran was Shinichi's "girlfriend" and someone he could ask her questions about his location? Because if that's the case then who was the alcohol really for? It couldn't have been Kogoro because he didn't know beforehand that he would visit him. So.... For Shinichi? Lmao Did he plan on celebrating together with him when he found him?
I don't know why but I can see that

honestly the thing I hate the most about Shinichi is how much he keeps to himself. he doesn't tell anyone anything, any new black org info is safely stored in the back of his mind and never shared with anyone.
that is, of course, until he needs help with an investigation or a plan. he asks Heiji to investigate Haneda's murder but doesn't tell him about Rum. Asks his mom to help him with the mystery train case, or his dad to pose as Subaru during the Scarlet Showdown. he even uses Kaito as one of his pawns once -- doesn't tell him anything more than what he needs to know, which almost gets him blown up, and then just says "I figured you'd be prepared"
I KNOW it's just his way of protecting the people around him. he thinks the less they know the less danger they'll be in. and tbh this would be a GREAT character flaw??? but I'm pretty sure Aoyama doesn't see it that way... look at my perfect little boy!! he doesn't have any major flaws aside from being annoying!!!!!!! not to mention character development is too hard to make in such a long series so I stopped doing it after episode 200 :)
tbh I feel like he used to tell heiji stuff related to the BO esp during the Vermouth arc and at least the major part of the Kir arc and then he stopped for whatever reason... I'm begging you you're already keeping too many secrets it can't hurt to talk to your best friend about something else than you love lives for once

Translation of the PASH interview with M27's Director
I translated the interview with M27 Director Nakaoka Chika in PASH's April issue, as well as a few of the questions from the Scriptwriter Ookura Takahiro's interview. (Raw from the DCEN Discord.)
Key new information:
There's a scene that reveals why Kudo Shinichi and Kaito Kid look similar.
They decided to save Hakodate's best nightscape for an "important scene" (that isn't the Kid vs. Heiji swordfight). Additionally, Heiji will be saying an impactful line, and Nakaoka would like everyone to pay attention to Heiji's feelings leading up to him saying that line.
Per Nakaoka, Aoyama said that Okita and Kazuha know each other's faces, but aren't any closer than that. (Also, they have a conversation in the movie.)
Ookura is fond of Ran's role because of the way Ran enthusiastically supports Kazuha in the movie.
Translation under cut.
Preparing For Battle
What will be the plot of Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram, which will be released next month…?
Gather hints from Director Nagaoka and scriptwriter Ookura’s stories!
A new truth regarding Kid, not yet shown in the original series, will be revealed.
As the release date of The Million-Dollar Pentagram draws ever nearer, new information drops by the day. What no doubt drew everyone’s attention the most was the tagline on the main visual- “At last, it will be revealed. ‘The truth regarding Kid.’” It appears as though in this movie, a “secret” that has yet to be shown in the original series will be revealed.
Please also draw your attention to Hattori Heiji, who stars in a movie for the first time in seven years, and how his confession to Kazuha will turn out. We hope you look forward to the release! ♪
Staff Interview 01: Director Nakaoka Chika
Q. When did you receive the offer to be the director of Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram?
It was after The Scarlet Bullet (Detective Conan Movie 24) ended. Aoyama-sensei was the one to nominate me- it was already decided that Kid would appear at that time, and as he quite enjoyed The Fist of Blue Sapphire (Detective Conan Movie 23), he likely nominated me thinking “Well, it’s a Kid movie, so better go with Nakaoka!” I definitely felt the pressure, but I was also determined to do my best.
Q. In this movie, Hattori will be part of the main cast along with Kaito Kid, correct?
I learnt that Heiji would be a main cast member at the same time I learnt that Kid would appear, but my first thought was- “So they meet at last!” In the original manga and the anime series, Kid and Heiji have shared the stage in Fairy Lips (Anime Ep. 983-984 Kid vs. Koumei: The Targeted Lips). But in the movies, even if they’ve appeared in the same one, they’ve never met without Kid being in disguise. So I realized that this would be the first time they would actually talk.
Q. Their swordfight, as shown in the currently-revealed previews, left quite the impression on me.
As the movie takes place in Hakodate, and Hijikata Toshizō appears as an original character, we decided fairly early on to include a swordfight. Aside from the Kid vs. Heiji swordfight revealed in the PVs, there’s actually so many swordfights you might think- isn’t this a bit much?! We did decide, “Let’s go with something related to katanas,” but honestly I never thought we’d show so many katanas in the end (lol).
Q. Please tell us the inside scoop on the Kaito Kid vs. Hattori swordfight scene.
We decided we wanted to have an action scene somewhere where you could see Hakodate’s nightscape, but we wanted to save the well-known nightscape for an “important scene”. So, we had Kid and Heiji fight with a lesser-known nightscape as their backdrop.
Q. As the movie takes place in Hakodate, Hokkaido, did you go visit in person?
Yes! It was my first time in Hokkaido, so I was very excited for it. And when I arrived, I truly felt once again that Hakodate valued history deeply, from the way they kept old buildings in great repair. I understood at a glance why Hijikata-san valued the land so deeply. It also felt rather special that Mount Hakodate was visible no matter where you were.
Q. What are you keeping in mind with this movie as you bring Edogawa Conan to life?
I keep in mind that it’s always Edogawa Conan who discovers the important things when it comes to mysteries. While Kid and Heiji are the main cast in this movie, I’d still like the protagonist to play a big part. Also, this is just related to Conan, but the way Takayama Minami-san would act out Conan’s expressions left a big impression on me. She would question my lines and ask things like, “What is Conan feeling in this scene?” And her feedback was all amazingly sharp- it made me think, “I’d expect no less from Conan-kun!” (lol). Sometimes my heart would thump as I answered.
Q. Could you tell us what you think we should focus on in the movie?
Definitely the katanas. As the main motif, they appear quite a bit, and I investigated them quite a bit- I put lots of care into it. There’s also a scene where Heiji says a line I’d want everyone who loves Detective Conan to hear. His entire atmosphere changes when he says that line- it was so amazing, I couldn’t stop smiling after the recording. Please look forward to it! I’d also appreciate it if you’d pay attention to Heiji’s feelings until that point.
Aside from that, there’s a scene in the PV where Heiji is shocked at Kaito’s bare face- please don’t miss the scene that reveals why, “Hey, don’t Shinichi and Kid look kinda similar?”
Q. Please tell us what left an impression on you during your interactions with the movie staff.
It was my first time meeting Kanno (Yugo)-san, but I truly felt that all of the songs he composed for the movie were superb. The Million-Dollar Pentagram has aspects to it that resemble a period drama, so I requested that he include taiko drums in his pieces. Then, he created music reminiscent of a festival that hadn’t appeared much in Detective Conan before. It felt very fresh to me when I heard it for the first time.
Q. Did your experience with The Fist of Blue Sapphire and The Scarlet Bullet help you with this movie?
When it comes to the Detective Conan movies, the usual suspects are always present on the production crew. So I feel as though I’ve gotten the hang of things like everyone’s areas of expertise, such as what scenes would be best drawn by which person. So I always made sure to give the storyboarders and animators scenes that would allow them to bring out their own unique talents. I also think the way the Detective Conan movies use a surprising amount of CGI is also one of its unique points. We use so much, it makes me think- “I don’t think a normal series would use so much?” But it’s because it’s been used for so many years that when we join CGI with animation, we can judge that, “Ah, this much is alright.” I believe that The Million-Dollar Pentagram has managed that balance as well.
Q. On the flip side, what did you do for the first time?
We had a designer named Hama Yuuto-san join us for this movie. When I met him on a different project, I thought that he drew designs that made a big impression. He’s produced various designs in a superb manner for The Million-Dollar Pentagram as well. For example, I consulted with Hama-san regarding things such as the stained glass and Higashikubo Eitatsu’s katana’s [scabbard(?)]. I think it’s best to consult a professional designer when designing something rather than an amateur trying it, and as a large number of katanas appear in this movie, it also allowed us to differentiate them.
Q. Who would you like us to focus our attention on in this movie?
Among the guest characters, I would say Kawazoe. He’s a bit clumsy and scatterbrained, but he’s skilled at information gathering despite that. He was a fun character to bring to life. Among the main cast, I would say Heiji and Kazuha. What will happen with their love story? I’m sure there’s plenty wondering about that!
Q. On a side note, when the teaser visual was revealed, Okita went trending on X (formerly Twitter.) I think many look forward to his part in the movie.
We decided to include Okita as the movie takes place in Hakodate and includes Hijikata, but he’s certainly a super cool character. Though I can’t say much as it’s before release, there is a scene where Okita and Kazuha talk to each other. But I think in the original series they haven’t talked properly before, so I didn’t know how close they were- that’s why I asked Aoyama-sensei for information on what their relationship is like. He responded, “They would recognize each other, but that’s all.” I kept that in mind while having them talk.
Q. Finally, please leave a message to our readers waiting with anticipation for the release.
I believe you’ll see the movie in different ways if you watch it from a different perspective each time- for example, first from Kid’s perspective, then from Heiji’s, then again from Kazuha’s. Also, you’ll only be able to experience the mystery of where the treasure is the first time you see the movie, so I would appreciate it if you played the part of one of the detectives and tried to solve the mystery as you watch.
Staff Interview 02: Scriptwriter Ookura Takahiro
T/N: I was too lazy to translate the whole thing by the time I got to this point, but have a few of the questions I was actually interested in.
[...]
Q. So that’s why Okita will be appearing in the movies for the first time?
While I can’t speak in detail about it, in the end I appreciated that Okita was part of the movie cast. Please look forward to it.
Q. Speaking of first appearances, Detective Kawazoe will be appearing as an original character in this movie. How did you create his character?
As the movie takes place in Hakodate, we decided to have Inspector Nishimura appear- that’s when we realized that he would have a subordinate, something like what Detective Takagi is to Inspector Megure. Since we couldn’t make Inspector Nakamori into his subordinate, we created Detective Kawazoe.
Also, before we decided on the treasure-finding plot, we initially had him as a spy that Public Safety had placed into their ranks. There were some characters we created because we’d need more police officers if Public Safety made an appearance as well. But even after the plot changed and Public Safety no longer played a part, Detective Kawagoe remained. This is the inside scoop on his character creation.
[...]
Q. What other characters would you like us to focus on in this movie?
While Heiji and Kazuha are the main cast, personally I’d choose Ran. I must apologize, but I haven’t been able to make Ran shine in the scripts I’ve been in charge of until now. But in this movie, I felt it was easy to bring Ran to life. She supports Kazuha full steam ahead. I personally was a big fan of that (lol).

-Kpop idol Kazuha au
I think Kazuha might unintentionally raise her kids to become fluent in Korean.
During her 3 years of training and 7 years as a Kpop idol, she developed the habit of thinking in Korean/Hanguk instead of Japanese over time.
So even after returning to Japan, getting married, and having children, she still hasn't completely switched her "thinking language" back to Japanese.
Yes, she does speak Japanese with Heiji and everyone around her, but she couldn't exactly get rid of her habits from living in Korea for 10 years.
Especially during the first five years of her return to Japan, she constantly found herself mixing up Korean and Japanese words in her sentence.
Even her arguments with Heiji were often cut short because Heiji always laughed hysterically at Kazuha struggling to find the right words to express her anger and instead just gave up halfway.
So these are a few instances where she exposes her kids to the Korean language without realising:
- her singing Kpop songs when doing house chores
- her complaining in Korean to herself when she's feeling exhausted
- her watching K-drama without subtitles as her kids played in the living room
- her talking with her former group members on the phone
- her baby-talking to the kids in Korean before switching back to Japanese when she amusedly realises that she had a full-on one-sided conversation with her baby in Korean.
- her saying something in Korean by accident before restating it back in Japanese
So imagine her surprise one day when she found her kids watching Pororo on the Korean channel after she forgot to turn the tv off after watching a K-drama earlier.
Then, she offered to switch the language to Japanese, only to be met with loud protests and a "Mama! Pororo sounds better in Korean!"
She was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. She let her kids be as she went back to the kitchen to prepare dinner with a secretive smirk.
..............................................
"Papa can't we tag along with you to Tokyo?"
"I'm telling ya kiddos. I'm headin there for work"
"Aww I thought we could go play with the Kudos"
"Kazuha, help me out here please" Heiji looked at her across the table with plea in his eyes.
Unfortunately for him, Kazuha gave him a smirk before speaking in Korean.
"I also want to go see Auntie Ran"
"What do we do Mama? Papa doesn't want to let us go"
"I think we should go on a secret trip to Tokyo without Papa knowing"
The kids all cheered in excitement.
"on a plane?"
"on the train?"
Heiji looked around the table with wide eyes. "Oi oi since when can you guys speak Korean?"
"We were always able to understand Hanguk"
"Yeah, Mama doesn't realise it but she speaks Hanguk a lot at home"
"Mama also doesn't notice that she talks to us in Korean sometimes"
"Wait really?"
"See! She's doing it right now!"
Everyone at the table laughed while Heiji could feel a headache growing at the back of his head.
..................................................
"It's really nice of Nee-chan to invite me over for dinner" Heiji waited for Shinichi to exit the taxi as they arrived at the Kudo household. "The kids were actually begging me to bring them along to Tokyo the other day"
"Huh? What nonsense are you talki-"
"And get this. Turns out all along my kids could speak Korean. KOREAN KUDO!"
Shinichi was still confused with where this conversation was heading as they walked towards the front door.
"It's not that weird considering that Kazuha-chan lived in Korea for a whole decade"
Heiji's voice was excited to brag about his children. "My kids are bi-linguals! Ya can't deny that my kids are awesome"
Shinichi sighed at Heiji's competitiveness that still hasn't completely mellowed out through all these years. "No one said your kids aren't great, Hattori"
Shinichi took out his keys to unlock the front door as Heiji continued chattering "Anyways I can't stay long since I need to catch the last train to Osaka tonight"
Shinichi, who noticed the louder chaos than usual in his house and his friend's oblivious face finally caught on the actual big picture. "Hattori, I don't think you need to catch the train"
"Hah? What the heck are you talking abou-"
"PAPAAAAAA!!!!"
Shinichi laughed his heart out at the sight of Heiji's dumbfounded expression as the Hattori children clambered all over him.

2023 Fic in Review
I'll just use the questions from last year :)
Total Number of Fics: 42
Total Wordcount: 45.692 on AO3 and 9.496 on a personal project
Fandoms: 14
Smut scenes: 13
Most Popular Fic (by bookmarks): Sign my death with your teeth
Most Popular Fic (by kudos): also Sign my death with your teeth
New things I tried: As always, I wrote for fandoms and pairings I hadn't before. I also wrote original fic again after at least 10 years of not doing that. And my goal for this year was to practice smut, and I did, and at least I learned why I'm not very good at it, so I guess that's something XD
Fic I spent the most time on: Hm, I don’t know. I’m usually a quick writer once I have an idea. Maybe Gotta risk it for the biscuit, just because it's the longest fic I've written this year.
Fic I spent the least time on: As I said, I'm usually a quick writer anyway. It's probably one of those short prompt fics I did.
Favourite thing I wrote: Hmmm. Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within). I didn't plan to write smut there at all, but I love how it turned out.
I also love es ist besser so a lot.
Looking Back, Did You Write More Fic Than You Thought You Would This Year, Less, Or About What You’d Expected? Well, my goal was to write 50.000 words this year, and I did just a bit more, so I guess it's about what I expected :D
Story Of Mine Most Under-Appreciated By The Universe, In My Opinion: Most of my fics are rarepairs, so I never expect much feedback anyway. I did think that night watch and hard and fast would be more popular though. I know it's not the fandom's favourite pairing, and I very much wrote them for myself, but I didn't think that there was no audience at all for them. Ah well, they're still my OTP in that fandom.
Most Unintentionally Telling Story: Probably somehow escape the burning wait (shiver deep within), because I hadn't planned to write it that way.
Biggest Disappointment: I mean, not getting feedback is always a bit disappointing, but all in all, there wasn't that much to be disapppointed about this year.
Biggest Surprise: I did not think I would ever write Detective Conan fic, and Heiji/Kazuha at that. If you told 12 year old me, she would think you were insane XD
My Favourite Part Of Fandom This Year: Getting into Steter. Both the Valentine's exchange and the Secret Santa were wonderful, and everyone is absolutely lovely and very generous with their feedback and comments.
Writing goals for next year: Write more original fic.
Tagging: @spacerhapsody @xinhua-jun @occhi-verdi-come-il-mare @ziskandra @tabbytabbytabby @sidhelives @cureaesthetic if you want :)

A Shinichi, Sera and Heiji episode! Because they know we can't get enough of Sera and they're right.
Sera is adorable. As usual.
Shinichi, it's a bit sad to use your other identity to boast about you.
STOP MENTIONING SERA'S BREASTS!
Tumblr media
ADORABLE
She's already asking Ran for her opinion. A far cry from someone Ran knows.
Sera is a lil shit too! Join the gremlin gang! Look at her sparking the competition between Shinichi and Heiji.
And yet, despite boasting he was better, the moment a competition comes up Shinichi actually doesn't care and finds it stupid XD That's the difference between him and Heiji.
Camel!
How tall is Camel?! Was he always this tall?!
And Camel is noticing that Akai and Sera look alike. I was wondering if he had met her before.
Heiji is being a lil shit to Shinichi! Deserved XD
You just know that Shinichi is going to look up dialects after this case so he doesn't get caught out again.
LMAO Heiji is so bad at keeping the secret T-T He's somehow worse than Shinichi which is saying something.
Wait is this the episode Shinichi uses his bad dialect to piss off the criminal?
I love Ran and Kazuha just having lunch. They're used to this dance, they know not to let a murder stop them from enjoying delicious food. I love how they ordered the food of the ones under suspicion to go "look, we're helping!" We need more funny moments like this from them.
So Shinichi is keeping an eye on Sera, who in return is keeping on eye on him while Camel is watching Sera. Quite the suspicion circle we have going on XD
Heiji, if you just focused more on the case than the competition, you'd have figured it out before Shinichi T-T
Shinichi's such a lil shit as well. Hitting Heiji where it hurts because he knows that Heiji likes baseball and Shinichi knows nothing about it.
Oh he used two methods to identify him. One being the weird Kansai dialect.
Tumblr media
LIL SHIT.
Why can't Shinichi react like that when Ran is usually in danger, she knows how to handle herself goddamn.
Oh Sera said the english name for the anime XD When they changed all the names.
Heiji: if you don't cut this shit out I will tell people.

Kaishin in Canon AU pt2
Continuation! (sorry if i fuck up names, i am a eng dub bitch lol)
(Edits, changed the last part of the pervious post lololol)
- Kaito does some detective work and saw the buffoon detective Mouri that his bf mentioned here and there has suddenly gained popularity, which makes Kaito kinda suspicious
- He breaks into the Mouri office and looks around for any clues but finds nothing, he does get interrupted by a particular small detective
-Almost gets his head blown off cause Conan doesn’t recognize him
- Shortly after that, Kaito comes very cheerfully with a horrified Conan saying “Where the fuck is my boyfriend, ran.”
- little Conan is breaking out in cold sweat when Ran mentions Shin’s phone calls to her that he is safe, he is somewhere solving a very secretive case
-Kaito call bull to that as even if shin is shin, he always tells Kaito everything especially if it is a very dangerous cases bc of how much he trusts Kaito and thinks it is just an excuse
- Kaito being Kaito decides that if his bf is refusing communication he is going to be a camp out of the Mouri detective agency until shin is mature enough to communicate with him! (immature vs immature)
- Mouri tries to get rid of him but how do you get rid of someone that just fucking appears out of thin air!??!?!??!
- Unsure if Shin as Conan would be ether really awkward around Kaito or be like a total brat to piss him off, like fuck up his magic tricks and constantly telling him ‘i hate magic’ and that its shit, that he has seen clowns from a circus do better lol
-  Just constantly trying to get rid of him but fails
- Adventures with world’s dumbest detective, a teenage girl who could kill grown men if she wanted to, a dying inside magical secret thief teen and the boyfriend of the magical teen that got shrink and has to hide that^TM
- Heiji would be HILARIOUS cause of how dense that motherfucker would be
- Conan would be trying to shut him up as he talks about meeting shin and how good buddies they are, Kaito is holding in his jealously as Heji just thinks he is the jealous best friend of Kudo and so keeps at it
- Heiji accidentally made himself the other women lmao
- “EH? KUDO THAT IS YOUR BOYFRIEND??” “THIS IS WHY I TOLD YOU TO SHUT THE FUCK UP-”
-Unsure when Shin would realize he is being a coward but he does eventually turn around (perhaps Kaito being more distressed and actually really fucking worried that their relationship and discussing that with little Conan)
-He would start of with being sorta sweet and apologetic but would quickly become snarky and be like “Ohh so you finally agree it wasn’t my fault” and “please stop being freeloading with ran, she is already dealing with her father’s relationship.”
- Shin still doesn’t discuss his situation and in trade for not telling Kaito they would be in constant contact with daily calls and texts/emails (?)
Happy ending? No, not really.
- “Ah small detective, you have always had a grudge against me, would have not thought it would be you to unmask me.”
- Being Conan he finds out that Kaito is Kid, it is like canon were Conan was chasing Kaito just when bored and simple rivalry
-Kaito got away only because of Conan’s shock
-Shin is distraught, not really because of stealing cause he could look past that but just how much he realized would he ever be able to take down his boyfriend if it came to it? Is he as a detective bringing danger to his boyfriend? Is his boyfriend using him as protection? Because of him being creditable personal if he were to ever get caught?(no of course not, Kaito has given him a red rose since childhood, he loves him because of their history right?) -It is sorta nail in the coffin for Shin, as along with being almost a year since his transformation
-He has not been able to hold his boyfriend, go on dates, kiss, or even just be in a comfort presence with him, there phone calls are fine and full of love but that is not the love his boyfriend deserves
- At this point he isn’t sure if he can even come back to his original form, he is always a step back and step forward even when gaining new alliances (ie- Haibara), would Kaito even wait for him? Shin would not be sure if he would be more broken on the fact that Kaito wouldn’t or he would wait for a person who would never come back?
-What if the organization ever go for Kaito? Figure is Kid and expose him? What if they ever hurt Kaito? How would he live with himself?
- ‘Maybe Aoko is the one to make Kaito happy and not him’ ‘She would make him so much more happier than me.’ Shin thinks
- So Shin breaks it off
-  the conversation goes something like this?
“I-I don’t want you to be involved.” “Involved with what?! What have you gotten yourself into?!? I would stand with you for everything-” “No, you don’t understand, this is something that even I don’t I would be able to get myself out.” “What?” “I’m sorry” *Hangs up*
- Shin has never been great with dates that were not related to a case, it was a very happy anniversary for Kaito as he looks at the little fake ring he proposed with when they were kids and look at a very new and brought with cash he worked hard for without stealing anything with for his ex-beloved
idk ya could make this happy or worst but this in the end for me (well for now lololol) :D

Hey, Brother do you still believe in one another?
07. Love Letters
Heiji Hattori x Male Reader | Platonic! Shinichi Kudo x Brother Reader
Fandom -> Detective Conan/Case Closed
Masterlist | Previous / Next |
Warning -> Mention of explicit content
Tumblr media
don't ask questions you don't wanna know
learned my lesson way too long ago
bad, bad news one of us is gonna lose
Love letters were something flattering to get. They could be written in simplicity or in a poetic and romantic way—describing the feelings of one another, the beauty of the person and over all it was to express inner thoughts into a more deeply rooted way.
It was something classic to do, though to give a verbally answer could sometimes bring heartbreak with it, especially when it's during the years of school.
Over the course of the last two months, it's already mid march, you had about three stacks of love letters saved. All of the envelopes unopened and without sender. The first few letters you had read, when you found them in your locker, though what has been written in them sounded so disturbing wrong—you had ripped them apart and threw them into the trash right away.
Everyday you would have a new envelope in either your mailbox or in your locker at school. Shinichi once told you how everything could be a evidence, so you keep them stored in a box, somewhere in the basement.
Reading about; how someone wanted to caress your naked body, marking it with bites till blood draws leaving kisses all over you. Making love with you over and over and over again—fucking you raw till your unconscious and into oblivion and even further afterwards. Stuffed and creamed with his Seed. Such a good little submissive househusbands you soon would be. Pretty boy naked and only in a apron, on your knees tending to his needs and begging for more and more, like the lovely slut you are for him.
A unsettling feeling had started to grow in the pit of your stomach. You didn't want to know what else of perverting thoughts he had written about you. Unconsciously thinking about it, gives you a urge to vomit.
Debating if you should call Heiji and tell him, wanting his reassurance that this was some sick joke and nothing more, but you didn't. Not wanting him to be worried or coming extra to Tokyo, something Heiji definitely would do, to try and find the anonymous culprit behind it.
Calling Shinichi had been on your mind next, for a second, then you remember you couldn't do that either. Though for complete different reasons.
So far you had only told Sachiko about it and she had sworn secrecy.
~~~
Sachiko, despite having promised not to, was going to call Heiji anyways, telling him not only about those disgusting letters—she had kept about three of them as evidence, but also about the other unsettling things which were happening to you.
The letters were one thing, could be ignored just fine. Small presents, which you would get every week on your doorsteps, consisting of Chocolate and gimmicks was something completely different though. You simply gave them away at school to almost every club, with the strong belief that the chocolate wasn't poisonous or the sort of. Sachiko hoped too, but than again what secret admire, to put it kindly, would poison the person they love?
The everyday flower bouquet would get the same treatment. Given away to someone other.
And the Phone calls? The phone calls you would get were the worst. Sachiko had listened in to a few of the calls. Unknown caller ID and you either would get silence, heavy breathing or the words Darling baby.
Three times you already had changed your number, still the creeped out call has continued. Deciding to get a second phone was the best option to not getting bothered anymore. As your old phone, long time battery dead, would probably still get incoming calls. Your newest current number would only been known by handful of people.
Sachiko could tell how much it unsettles you. It begun to stress you out little by little, adding to your sleepless nights and bringing more discomfort—regularly nightmares even.
To a point where paranoia had begun to set in.
~~~
Sachiko and you were about to exit the school gate, club activities had ended early today and Sachiko had the idea to get some Coffee. Stopping halfway when someone called out your name.
Sachiko squinted her eyes when the guy came near, he seemed familiar.......ah, that dude from the Disco!
The question was, how does this Daiki guy knew to what school you would go? It's a private school and Tokyo is rather big, so the chance of lucky coincidentally meeting you here, are fucking nonexistent.
Sachiko grabbed your arm, holding onto it and did the most over friendly smile she could muster as a greeting. She didn't really listen to whatever he had to say.
Though these bullshit lies, were sure something. As if she would believe that his apparently little sister would go here. Sachiko heard way better lies before.
She couldn't say for sure what exactly it was, perhaps female intuition, that would made her so suspicious of him. Was it the way he spoke? Or how he gives you this sort of gaze, something Sachiko had seen already but she couldn't put a name to it right now.
«[Name]~ lets us go already I don't wanna be late for my Coffee.» by now Sachiko was glaring at Daiki, his boyish smile wasn't gonna to fool her.
«I should go too, don't want my sister waiting. Ah here, this is for you.» Daiki pulled out a envelope.
You furrowed your brows, almost starting to frown at this.
«Now now, don't give me that look. Someone just gave it to me, asking me if I could be the deliver,» he chuckles.
Taking the envelope from his hand, you thank him and said goodbye.
Being now a bit away from the school grounds, Sachiko didn't felt the eerie aura anymore.

royal au sera is here
“Don’t break the dummy.” Shinichi said as he walked down the steps into the practise ring. Sera looked up, flicking the sweaty hair off her forehead and relaxed her stance, the tip of her sword landing in the dirt.
She nodded at in greeting and smirked, sharp teeth glinting through her lips. “Kudou.” She gave him a mock salute that he returned. “Recovering well?” Sera pointed at shoulder as she walked over to put her sword on the rack alongside the others.
Shinichi adjusted the sling on his arm as he followed her over to the bench. “Not as well as I’d like.” He said and Sera snorted.
“Do you ever?” She laughed before her voice was swallowed by a towel she used to wipe the sweat off her brow. “What do you need, sir?” Sera sked with a wink and Shinichi smiled faintly.
“Interested in a new job? He asked and Sera’s eyebrows raised.
She leaned closer. “What’s the job?” She asked in low tones, her eyes going around the room. The practise area was deserted today but they were both too conscious of the likelihood of a traitor in the palace to not be vigilant.
Shinichi swallowed, schooling his expression. “Black Knight.” He said and Sera’s head whipped around, her eyes wide.
“They fired you?” She frowned.
Shinichi sighed and looked past her. “I can’t fulfill my duties like this.” He said, touching his elbow through the sling.
“So this is temporary?” Sera asked and Shinichi wanted nothing more than for her to be right.
“Until I recover.” He said, stressing the last word with a long glance at her. “Which is not going to happen.”
Sera cursed quietly, crossing her arms over her chest. She kicked at the ground. “Does the prince know yet?” She asked, looking up.
Shinichi shook his head. “I wanted to find a replacement first.”
Sera groaned and dragged a hand through her hair. “He’s gonna hate that.” Shinichi felt a sad smile tug at his lips. It was a cruel comfort that he would be missed at least. “I’ll accept. Under one condition.” Sera said.
Shinichi raised a brow and looked at her with a raised chin. “Being?”
“You tell him.” Sera said and Shinichi snorted.
“Sure.” He held out his hand. Dreading the conversation with Heiji to come. Sera took his hand and shook it, hand holding tightly. Her fingers tapped against his palm, asking ‘more?’.
“Does that mean I am your boss now?” She asked while smirking. Shinichi sighed, tapping back with his fingers ‘secret’ before releasing her hand.
“No.” He told her exasperated and she clicked her tongue in mock disappointment.

Greetings, chosen one. Arise from your slumber.
Just kidding. It’s me again.
So…new question! How good do you think your favorite DCMK characters would be when it comes to using social media? Who has the most followers, who knows how to get the most reposts, and who gets banned for starting fights? Also, what sort of themes would their accounts follow (i.e. food blogs, aesthetics, fashion, etc.)?
- Secret Santa
Hello again!
This was so interesting to think about actually so sorry if I go on for a bit because the gears in my brain are turning with all sorts of ideas!!!
Shinichi - I think he's really good at using social media, like he knows all the ins and outs, keeps track of popular trends, lightening fast at working out what key terms to search to find suspects socials etc. I think we see a lot of evidence for this kind of behaviour in canon too actually! Because of that I also think he'd be capable of running a journalistic style blog and true crime insights and capable of making it really popular! That said... I also kinda think despite being capable of that if he actually wouldn't XD he probably just has private socials he uses to follow his friends and occasionally tweets a Sherlock Holmes quote.
Kaito - An absolute master of social media. The best of it of all the characters, has multiple socials and actively uses all of them, he has an account to show of magic tricks and another for general stuff where he posts pics of him and his friends and daily life and sweet treats and KID fanboying. On the KID side he probably has like an unofficial official KID account and sometimes even live blogs during heists just to mess with the taskforce XD he probably also has and maintains multiple fake profiles for various undercover identities. He's very busy! But it does pay off for him, his magic trick blog is probably extremely popular!
Sonoko - All her chaos in probably on one big uncoordinated social XD shopping hauls? Travel vlogs? KID fangirling? Gushing over her boyfriend? You can't have one without all the others XD probably comes across as a bit of a rich girl showing off her money initially but is surprisingly relatable about other matters.
Ran - unintentionally a massive social media success, I could see her posting general stuff and life bits and pieces about everything from recipes, karate, a new cafe, a cute dog she saw etc. and it's just such a genuinely nice blog and any pictures she posts of her she's always looking amazing (because when does she not look great?) And she skyrockets to success without actually trying and is genuinely surprised by it.
Heiji - has a lot of the same skills as Shinichi when it comes to using social media but is also a much more active blogger! I think he'd have a food blog actually, boy knows his way around every local place is Osaka and Kyoto it seems and is keen to share what he likes about each place! He's also probably a great photographer seeing as he likes to keep an eye out for scenic locations!
Kazuha - she'd have a various well organised fan accounts I think! One for Heiji, another for Kamen Yaiba, another for Gomera etc. (why yes I did just watch Kamen Yaiba Vs Gomera recently how could you tell XD) They're small and niche but popular within their communities.
Amuro - it may be a blog for a fake identity but I feel like the Amuro identity definitely needs a blog and like anything he attempts he puts his all into it XD it's probably a cooking blog where he shares recipes and tips and tricks for the kitchen and it's pretty popular.
The Detective Boys! - Haibara said they were too young to have individual accounts but let them make one to advertise the Detective Boys! They post about their achievements and occasionally make some personal posts, Ayumi likes to mention nice things that happened each day like meeting cats, Mitsuhiko likes to share science trivia pieces and Genta likes to take photos of his dinner! It's a small blog and not very well known except for brief spikes when they make the news because of a case but it's a very cute blog. (On a side note Haibara absolutely has a personal account she uses to be a little snide sometimes and post about Higo)

Hello my friends,
Today I am here to show you my last new game that I got. ദ്ദി(៸៸›ᴗ‹៸៸ )
Before we start I just wanted to mentioned that this is a DCMK only blog so ofcourse I only post about DCMK games. This time I will show you another physical party game so going to be very interesting. \(^ω^\)
Now I wanted to ask you one thing. What typ of board game would fit concept and story wise really well to the Detective Conan series? Sure It already sound pretty weird to ask this about board game. How can a board game even fit to Detective Conan, right? (๑¯ ^ ¯๑)
Well there is actually a board game that fits pretty well to this whole murder mystery genre that Detective Conan is going for. ( 'ω' 三 'ω' )
So what if I tell you that there is an official licensed Detective Conan version of the Clue Game. OWO
Tumblr media
You won't believe it, but this game came out in 2003.
If you've never heard of the Clue Game, here is a short summary.
The original Clue Game basically features fancy rich people throwing a Party. During that party someone of them is murdered. This is where the game play starts, you take a role as one of them and try solving this case. Who was it? Where did it happen? What weapon did the culprit use?
If that gameplay does not scream Detective Conan, I don't know which board game else!
The board itself and everything else that comes with the game looks so much Detective Conan like. The design is really perfect.
Tumblr media
It even has a fancy title like a real Detective Conan case. "The secret of the lost treasure"
The people who design this really thought of every detail. I absolutely appreciate that. ♡
As for the rulebook it would be to much to post all of it here, it's a lot. What I did get from reading though is that they kept the original rules as far as possible and made here and there a view changes to make it more true to Detective Conan.
Tumblr media
Just having the possibility to switch from Conan to another character like Heiji during the case ist so cool. You can even switch to Ran, Kogoro, Ai, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko or Genta if you need to. (O^O)
I haven't figured out why you would ever switch your character to Genta but I'm sure at one point it makes sense in this game. ꉂꉂ◟(˃᷄ꇴ˂᷅ ૂ๑)
There wasn't much information or pictures in general about this game that I could find. It seems that this one is older game and therefore there are not that many floating around anymore. (・ิ∀・ิ๑)
You know sometimes ,you have that feeling about certain things that you truely know they exist but you've never actually seen or heard of it before. This is how I felt about this game for a long time.
It's just too good to be not true! (✧ꈊ✧)
That's it about this game. I hope that all my physical party game posts so far gave you a little bit more inside into the fantastic world of Detective Conan games. If I am able to find more like this I will ofcourse update you!

You single out the Hanazawa and I know Koito is shown to be different but that brainwashing wasn't it the same in the entire Imperial Japan feudal fathers about duty to family name, country and emperor before individual? Same as why commoners had love marriage unlike the arranged marriage?
Undoubtedly...
we know that back then Japan believed in certain values and parents would teach them to their children.
This happened in all the eras and, I think, in all the countries and it’s normally not considered brainwashing but education.
Historically, it’s well known at the time, Japan culture was one in which children obeyed to fathers and pursued their parents’s same trade, and in which in was honourable for men to sacrifice themselves for the well being of their country.
So I would have found perfectly normal for Hanazawa to tell Yuusaku he HAD to become an officer because that’s what his father and his grandfather were, no discussions allowed, and put his life on the line for the honour of Japan.
But Hanazawa is going a step further the other parents.
He doesn’t merely want Yuusaku to be in the army, he wants him to be the flag bearer. No, actually it’s more than that, he wants Yuusaku to become an icon.
Remember this bit?
Tumblr media
Ogata points out how Yuusaku is doing something that’s not the norm required for a flag bearer, it’s more than that. Yuusaku babbles an excuse but it turns out there’s a completely different reason behind it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hanazawa didn’t just educate Yuusaku to the values of his culture, with whom we can agree or disagree but pushed him into a position so that he could become a tool for him.
He became the only source of Yuusaku’s influence.
Yuusaku always says ‘father told me so’. He went to the Army academy, he met other people, he should have absorbed his culture’s values from the whole of his universe, instead his opinion is completely plasmed by Hanazawa.
Koito too is imbued by traditional values, he too wants to live and die for his country, values his father too transmitted to him, but look at how he presents them.
Tumblr media
Koito doesn’t say ‘father told me so’, Koito made those values his own because they’re part of his own world and he finds them normal, they’re the ambition of any soldier (more like of any official but Koito’s world is among the officials, not really among the first class privates).
So, from how I see it, Hanazawa isn’t just educating Yuusaku in the values people believed back then, he’s pushing on him other beliefs for his own convenience and Yuusaku, who’s forced by traditional values to accept and respect his father’s opinion, has no other option but to absorb them.
Yet we see Yuusaku doesn’t quite internalizes them like Koito, his opinion is always subordinate to his father’s.
When he explains something is ‘father told me so’ and when Sugimoto pushes him to express himself we get this.
Tumblr media
Yuusaku says his father told him to think about how his life can be used for the good of Japan. This seems almost like he’s allowing Yuusaku to have an opinion, to make a choice... only it’s actually not like that because we know that Hanazawa wants Yuusaku to be a flag bearer, a certain kind of flag bearer who becomes an icon for the soldiers so Hanazawa’s question is more of a rethorical one.
Plus, Yuusaku says he understands his father’s convinctions... meaning his father didn’t just tell him ‘think and decide’ but already gave him the answer he should chose and why and possibly, nothing else to work with.
So on top of the common cultural belief of fighting for his country Hanazawa managed to push on him other ideas which aren’t part of his culture.
And Yuusaku apparently has no one else with whom to discuss it, as others don’t have fathers pushing on them those extra things.
That’s why it’s all ‘father told me’, because there’s no one else who told him to do so, not his teachers, not his superior officers, not the other officers of his same age.
The most they got is ‘fight for his country’. Hanazawa instead said ‘be an icon’.
That’s why Hanazawa’s actions to me feel more like brainwashing that educating... though of course it can be that ‘brainwashing’ might feel like a too strong world.
And there’s something else to say.
Although it was common to teach those values, this didn’t mean parents necessarily didn’t care for their children.
To go with the arranged marriages, yes, they were arranged by the family, but there were families who only cared about their own gain, and families who also wanted the match to be good for their children.
Not a marriage of love, because upper classes believed feelings of love and passions weren’t suitable to build a solid base for a marriage, but still they would be searching partner who would be good for their own children.
So yes, Japan back then had a culture that feels very different from the one of many present countries but this didn’t mean all the parents who embraced it were jerks to their kids or didn’t care, or that those who cared didn’t embrace it.
Many were just trying to make the best they could for their kids in the boundaries set by their culture.
Koito Heiji for example is noteworthy not just because he allowed Koito to switch from Navy to Army or because he went to save his own son even if this could put Japan into danger but because, since Koito was going to become a commander, he wanted him to have chances to make experience.
This could cause him to die?
Yes, but it can also teach him to survive to greater dangers and be better at doing his job. Koito Heiji thinks he’s helping Koito to grow, not that he’s trying to get a gain from Koito going in Karafuto, especially since Koito wanted to become an Army official.
So far Noda hadn’t shown us a single instance where Hanazawa has shown care for Yuusaku as Yuusaku, beyond the suicide letter who might as well be a forgery. Yuusaku was merely a tool for prestige, a tool to push the Army to perform better.
Of course maybe we lack info... but the few we have so far paint Hanazawa as far worse than your traditional high officer Japanese dad... which is why I’ve a terrible opinion of him.
Hanazawa so far has been presented as a man who cheated his wife, used his legittimate son, discharged his lover after he got her pregnant and didn’t care about his illegittimate son, sent to death tons of men to advance in his career.
Noda didn’t give him any remendable quality or a motivation beyond his own self interest so, unless he’s keeping it all secret and saving it for the end, honestly I’m not fond of the guy.
It might be just me though.
Thank you for your ask!

back when i used to watch dc almost every other fan i met absolutely despised shinichi, which i couldn't really comprehend, and now, while reading the manga years later, it's even more confusing. i mean, he has his faults and but i remember people hating him for the most benign stuff, especially in the beginning of the series (before character development)- but he's very likeable in the flashbacks that had aired back then?? if he's such a jerk why did anyone befriend him in the first place lmao
Yeah, I also saw some of that hate, but eh- what can you do.
I agree that the keeping the secret from Ran at this point is controversial, most would say that (even by canon timelines) he should just let her know. I am one of those that think Ran will figure it out on her own before he gets to tell her (because she’s capable of it, she did have her suspicions and stuff). I think most agree she should know, which is one of those parts where some people grow some hate for Shinichi, but where other people can see where he’s coming from, which is my case. Do I agree with keeping the secret? No. Do I get why he’s doing it and that he’s truly doing it with the best intentions at heart? Absolutely.
And pre-Conan Shinichi is something that’s also a little complicated to understand sometimes. On the first episodes, that is, days before the accident at tropical land, he was seen acting... like a jerk. I think that the media attention maybe finally got to his head and all of that, therefore his behavior. Still, you can see he loved Ran dearly and was not really good at hiding it, throwing her loving looks and heart eyes all the freaking time.
Now, in all flashbacks we get that are prior to all of that (New York, Ski lodge, aquarium...) he seems... so nice? He’s extremely babey in all of those. His face when he learns that there’s another teen detective around just like him... wow, a babey I’m telling you.
So yeah, the attention probably got to him a very short time before the events of episode and file one.
And about your last point. I find it actually hilarious that basically everyone that has become relevant in his life at the moment either didn’t like him at first, or straight up hated him lmao. Ran? confirmed she HATED him at first because of a misunderstanding; Heiji? He came all the way from Osaka just so he could prove himself to be better; Haibara?....do I need to say it?; Kazuha? She was jealous of the guy because of Heiji’s attention to him;... but then they all changed their minds and he became one of their favourite people. I don’t know, I just find it really ironic lmao
So it’s okay anon! Don’t feel alone on the Shinichi loving hours, feel free to talk to me about it as much as you want, I’m always open to ramble about this sweet boi

12 Day's of Christmas - Secret Santa Fanfiction
Tumblr media
Alright, I know Japan isn´t known for celebrating Christmas as some of us might know it, but I wanted to do something really Christmas’y for you and since it’s a celebration for couples in Japan I thought It would be nice. I might have toyed with some western tradition as well. Hope you still like it and it’ll fulfill your Christmas wish! As you might already know I’ve chosen HeijixKazuha from the couples you mentioned the and decided that they finally get a confession… even if Heiji still has to struggle a little (a lot). Oh and the last parts isn´t beta readed yet~ Sorry ^^,
I hope you’ll like it! Have a happy and merry Christmas dear PurpleLlamanator
Your secret Santa Shelling Ford xxx
 __________
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me A murder in a café.
The first snow had started to fall and the soft flakes that slowly coated the city suddenly turned into a heavy snow storm that threw Osaka into chaos. The traffic broke down and the people were fleeing the streets, searching for cover wherever they found it. So they end up, cold and shivering, in a crowded café dripping wet, before they finally found a tiny table for two. Heiji cursed and unwrapped the green scarf from his neck.
“That storm is madness! We’ll be frozen before we get home- and ta end up here of all places,” he grumbled, looking through the tiny cafè that wasn´t only filled with people but it seemed that each free space was covered in Christmas décor of all colors and well - tastes. Between candy canes and Christmas trees were deers in multiple colors (but all of them covered in a ton of glitter), big baubles in cupcake décor and was that a purple pig with a crown? Of course, the storm had to shoo them into this wannabe winter-wonder-land.
Heiji shuddered, partly because he could still feel the cold in his clothes and partly because he felt like sitting inside what must look like a crazy Santa-Claus workshop. With a sigh, he turned to Kazuha, who - to be honest - was the main reason for them being here. She had been shivering from head to toe and while she claimed that she loved the snow and would be happy to walk through a storm like this (crazy as that is) he simply couldn’t bear her trembling any longer. Looking at her now, he could see that it had been he right decision. Her lips had turned from a light blue back to a cherry red, her cheeks were still blushed from the cold wind, and her hair was wet, sparkling in the colorful light of the café. With shining bright eyes and a smile on her lips, her eyes wandered through the room.
“Isn´t that tha most beautiful place, Heiji?!”
“Uh-“ His first reaction was to ask her if she had suddenly gone blind and stupid at the same time, but her eyes, reflecting the thousands of Christmas lights around them, stopped him.
‘Tha most beautiful, huh-?’
Of course, Kazuha loved the foreign traditions, the lights, the decorations and everything… she had declared that it was her favorite season and well… he had to admit that she looked beautiful in the colorful surroundings. So beautiful that a lump formed in his throat. He would tell her about- the thing. Now or… at least during this season, but now would be nice, would be perfect if she loved this place so much, and suddenly the crowded café seemed empty, the decoration and lights well placed and warm, perfect even.
“K-Kazuha listen, I-“
But a scream stopped him mid-sentence.
Heiji froze, his eye twitching slightly while Kazuha had already left her seat, to see if she could help, but there wasn't much she could do.
“Someone call an ambulance!”
One screamed, while someone else declared that it was already too late.
“Oh my God, he’s dead!”
“What’ya waiting for! Come on!” Kazuha’s order ripped him from his thoughts, his cheeks burning, like she’d just caught him doing something he wasn't allowed to. He just stared up at her, while she was waiting for him to move.
“But- a-alright.”
And with a sigh he made his way through the crowded and over-decorated place in order to solve the murder in the little café.
On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Two hours of frostbite, And a murder in a café!
The wind was icy, but at least the sun was shining, so it seemed that everything went according to plan. He had one month of her favorite season to tell her… that he, kind of liked her - well she knew that of course. They were friends since they knew each other, but well - he liked her more than that, you know like really – oh well, anyway, even with his bad luck it should be possible to confess within a whole month. To find the right spot, time and setting - somehow.
Today, he’d chosen Osaka castle park. The snow was still fresh and clean, so that the whole place looked like it was covered in clouds. He was waiting on one of the bridges and due to the cold wind it seemed like they would have this place for themselves. The water below was frozen, but the ice was still thin so he could see tiny bubbles dancing beneath the thin layer, like hundreds of tiny dancing couples along with the flow of the river.
He’d chosen a spot where they could see the sundown when the white snow would turn into a warm orange and a soft rosé. A smile found its way to his lips, together with a slight blush. Heiji huffed and pushed his hands deeper into his pockets. Kazuha was late, even if she always blamed it on him when they weren‘t on time, he knew that it wasn't unusual for her to take a little longer. While the frostbite was already nipping on his nose, he forced himself to wait and enjoy the view.
Well… that was two hours ago.
Two hours of frostbite crawling through his clothes and icy wind blowing in his face.
His toes felt like they were about to roll around in his shoes all by themselves. Well, Heiji could only guess that was what they felt like, because they were mostly frozen by now. The detective’s nose and cheeks were bright red from the cold, nearly glowing in the darkening light. He cursed with chattering teeth.
“Where tha heck is that woman!?”
With numb fingers, he pulled his mobile from his pocket to call Kazuha.
“Hey, Heiji what-“ but her welcoming words were disturbed by his annoyed question.
“Where are ya?”
“What?” The high schooler was confused.
“What are ya talking ‘bout?” However, the fact that Kazuha had forgotten about their date let the corner of his mouth twitch in frustration.
“Our… meeting in tha Castle Park?”
“Huh? But ya told me ta meet ya there tomorrow…” she told him with an audible frown, so that Heiji finally exploded.
“Idiot! That was today!” he yelled.
“Who are ya callin’ an idiot, ya idiot! Ya even texted me tha day and time again, remember?“
“Yeah, ta meet ya here today.”
“No. Tomorrow. Check your messages, ya blockhead.” With that she hung up, leaving him listening to a dead line.
“Oi, Kazuha! Kazuha!” Hattori cursed and switched back to the latest massage he’d send her.
“Darn it! I’m sure she- oh.”
He’d given her the wrong date, or was it him being too early?
“Oh boy…” Heiji sighed - well it was his fault and with her being cranky like that (why did he even like that testy girl?!) he would have to come up with something real good next time.
The Osakan shook his head and looked back to the bright red and blue glowing sky, while the world around him was aflame in a warm and shimmering golden light.
Something real good.
On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Three stolen purses, Two hours of frostbite, And a murder in a café!
Today was the day, he’d planned it well. He’d found a Christmas market, with little stores selling candy, hot drinks, Christmas trees and baubles besides other rather unnecessary stuff, all bright and colorful – Kazuha would love it. And she did, but other people seemed to like it, too… that was the fault in his plan - there were just too many people. Kazuha still enjoyed the strange market but - it was far from what he would call a date, or romantic or anything like that.
They made their way through the crowd to a little candy store beneath a giant maple tree that was illuminated by fairy lights. He got himself a coffee while Kazuha was trying to choose something from the store. It had started to snow again, but luckily it wasn’t a storm, at least not yet. The soft, icy crystals floated to the earth, glowing in the multiple light of the fairy lights and multiple stores and it seemed like they’d finally found a spot, that wasn’t too crowded.
He blew on the warm coffee in his hands and tried a sip, before the warm white frog from his cup revealed his childhood love, wearing a bright smile. He blushed beneath his green-white woolen hat, but shook his head briefly, eying the candy in her hand.
“What’s that?”
“A candy apple.” Heiji nodded, frowning at the apple, coated in a layer of bright red sugar.
“It tastes great,” Kazuha announced, taking another bite, but the detective was all fixed on the cherry red color of her lips.
“Ah…” he gulped, eyes still on Kazuha’s soft and sweet lips.
“… I’m sure it does.” He murmured, still staring, so that he didn't noticed Kazuha’s confused look, before she waved her hand in front of his face, taking a step closer to him as she did so.
“Hello, earth to Heiji, what are ya mumbling?” He blinked, ripped from his day dream only to find her standing only one step in front of him, her lips still tinted in an inviting red, her cheeks flushed from the cold and her eyes sparkling, reflecting the fairy lights all around them. Heiji blushed rather flustered.
“Well, I wanted to-“ he stammered, his voice breaking when he tried to form a sentence, so he tried again, taking a final step closer to her.
“I want to tell you-“
“My purse! Help! He got my purse!“ The scream made them both jump, before a guy rushed past them, clearly the thief on the run.
“Oh- ya’ve gotta be kidding me,” Heiji groaned, but already started to hunt after the man.
“Kazuha, call tha police, I’ll be right back,” he called, before he stopped by another couple, grabbing the umbrella they carried to use it as a improvised kendo sword.
“Can I borrow that for a second? Thank ya!”
When he finally reached the guy, it seemed like the thief had stolen not only one but three purses that night, and he might have also earned more than one bruise due to the detective‘s date, that was ruined… again.
On the forth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hours of frostbite, And a murder in a café!
This day wasn't going according to plan. Not at all! He had planned to go ice-skating with Kazuha, and now Tokyo’s biggest murder magnet, the angel of death, body dropping guy was sitting between the girls playing the sweet little kid.
They had chosen a self-serving restaurant, offering a giant buffet, with a nice view on the streets of Osaka.
“Alright, who’s up for a desert?” Kazuha asked and pushed herself from her seat along with Ran, who followed with a hesitating smile herself.
“Ya and Neechan go, Ku- kiddo and I are skipping tha sugar today.” Heiji let himself slip deeper into the bench, making it clear that he wasn't about to come along.
“Actually-“ But Conan’s the objection was stopped with a cold glare from the detective of the west.
“Ah no, but thank you, Kazuha-neechan,” Conan chirped with his kiddy smile.
“We’ll wait here, just go,“ Heiji murmured, so that Kazuha nodded and Ran turned to Conan with a warm smile.
“Alright, we’ll be right back.”
Shinichi watched them both go, before a cold voice forced his attention back to his friend.
“Go away.”
“What? What the heck is wrong with you, Hattori?!”
“’s nothing…” the Osakan grumbled, but Kudo’s raised eyebrow was making it clear that he wasn't buying it. Shinichi could see his friend chewing the bottom of his lip, before he finally mumbled something, avoiding his eyes all the time.
“Just… me trying to-  well, sort things out and now ya here, with ya all too perfect romantic British confession.”
“Huh?” The boy’s glassed nearly slipped from his nose in surprise, so he had to push it back, before he finally answered.
“So that’s what it’s all about, you’re trying to confess to Kazuha?” He questioned, with a knowing smirk. ‘Again’
Hattori just blushed, turning his gaze away from the boy.
“Well – yeah and ya‘re not helping,“ Heiji grumbled, before Conan rolled his eyes.
“Damn Hattori, this isn't a competition and besides…” he stopped with a sigh, staring holes in the table now.
“My confession was far from perfect, or planned. Damn, we screamed at each other, she was crying and I compared love to a stupid number, before I  had to leave her again,” he remembered with rather mixed feelings, before a blush found its way to his cheeks.
“And Kyoto… well that was nice, but the moment was ruined again…” He took a deep breath, looking up at his friend again, with a fond smile.
“So, no matter what you’re going to do, you already won, since you don't have to leave her.”
There was a second of silence between them and Heiji suddenly had the feeling that he’d ben rather unfair – but before he could say anything, Kudo started talking again, with a smirk on his lips.
“Besides, when I planned to tell her it was a total failure, you know that. I had to solve a murder instead,” Kudo reminded him with a dry chuckle.
“Yeah, I know.” Heiji massaged the bridge of his nose, he knew that just too well.
“Just tell her everything and you’ll see it’ll turn out alright,” the boy told him with a knowing smile, which made Heiji raise a questioning eyebrow.
“What are ya - Dr. Love?”
“Oi, I’m just trying to help,” Shinichi objected with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
“Alright, I know, sorry,” he surrendered with a smile.
“I will try to tell her again as soon as this dark omen hovering over the city is gone,” Heiji announced, but the kid just gave him a questioning look, so the detective was nice enough to clarify his statement with a smirk.
“Namely, you.”
“What!? Come on, I’m not worse than you,” Shinichi huffed in annoyance.
“I beg to differ.”
“You-“
But before the boy’s banter went too far, the girls finally returned, plates full of sweet desserts of all sorts.
“Here we are,” Ran announced, retaking her place beside Conan, while Kazuha was doing the same next to Heiji.
“What have ya two been talking ‘bout?” But her question was answered from both detectives at the same time.
“Nothing”
Later, when they had said goodbye and their friends were already back on their way to Tokyo, Heiji was laying on his bed, reading when his mobile suddenly chirmed, announcing a text message. The detective took the device reading the name of the messenger, before he opened the text.
‘It’s from Kudo.’
Good Luck
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hours of frostbite, And a murder in a café!
The scent of lilies reached his nose and made him smile. He was supposed to meet her at home, her dad was still at work, so they had the place for themselves in order to finish their school project. Heiji thought that the place and time was as good as any and to be honest, at least they should be safe from murders, thieves and what else. But in order to make it a little romantic, he’d decided to get some flowers, what took him and the now rather exhausted und distressed girl from the shop longer than he’d planned.
Roses just seemed too much, too cliché, too obvious - or whatever you want to call it, but the other flowers were either not the color he wanted or he didn't like the meaning behind them. After what felt like hours, he was finally satisfied with the small bouquet of lilies in his hand and was already on his way back. Heiji tugged his woolen hat deeper in his face, leaning against the cold wind, even if he had a little trouble telling whether he was trembling because of the cold or the nervous feeling in his stomach. He was about to cross the road when a group of people caught his attention. His gaze hardened looking to the four guys, who were obviously trying to “flirt” with two high school girls.
“Please, we just want to go home,” they begged, trying to get past the four men, but their way was blocked again by one of them, wearing an ugly smirk.
“Oh sweety, but you haven't told us to whom ya wanna go!” He grinned a foul smile and his friends chuckled, before another one of them wiggled his eyebrows.
“Yeah, I’ve got a special Christmas present for ya!”
The offer let the bile crawl up Heiji’s throat.
‘Alright that’s it.’ Heiji growled and made a step towards them, placing the flower bouquet on his shoulder carrying it similar to how he would carry his kendo sword.
“I guess they would prefer their own home, without any of you accompanying them.”
The high schoolers looked at him in surprise, before they took the chance that the attention wasn't on them any longer and slipped past them with a murmured thank you, before they hurried away.
“And who are ya?” the fake blond snarled, his lip thinning even more, before he added a special nickname with a ugly grin. “Flower boy?”
Heiji just rolled his eyes, ready to leave since he'd reached his goal, but the one with way too much wax in his sleek and slimy hair stepped in his way.
“Are ya planning ta weave a nice crown out of that?” he laughed, while trying to reach out to one of the lilies, but Heiji slapped his hand away with a growl.
“Hands off!”
But his action caused two of the guys to grab his arms, so that he’d lost the grip on the flowers in surprise. He swallowed; they still looked nice, but it was clear that it wouldn't stay that way for much longer.
“Why should we, ya just ruined our entertainment,” slimy-head argued.
“Hardly, ya faces already did that for ya,” Heiji told them with a dry laugh.
“Alright flower boy, that’s it,” the blonde guy grumbled, before his gaze fell to the bouquet on the ground.
“How nice, it’s a pity that ya dropped them,” he smirked, before raising his foot.
“Oh… I’m sorry, I must. Have. Stepped. On. Some-. -thing!” Each of his words was accompanied with another kick at the poor lilies,  before he looked up with an ugly smile.
Heiji just sighed, looking down at his latest plan.
“Ya really shouldn't have done that,” he whispered.
.
.
The doorbell interrupted Kazuha’s studies and she made her way to the door.
“Coming!”  She opened the door to find her missing school project partner right in front of her.
“Heiji, ya late, what-“  But the high schooler stopped herself at the appearance of her friend.
“Ya nose is bleeding!”
“Well yeah, that and four others,” Heiji chuckled darkly, but winced when that caused him to ache everywhere.
She’d pushed him into the living room, placing him on the couch, and wrapped him (despite his protests) into a warm blanket, before she disappeared to gather something to treat him with.
“Here, I’ve made some tea, how’s ya head?”
“I told ya, I’m fine.” But Kazuha simply ignored him, carefully tending to the wound on his cheek, she was close enough for him to feel her breath on his skin. Well, he had a few bruises and hadn't told her what he wanted to, but all in all the day wasn't all that bad.
‘Not at all.’
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hours of frostbite, And a murder in a café!
The way to someone’s heart is through their stomach, at least that’s what they say.
So, when Kazuha announced that she wanted to try herself making Christmas cookies, he offered his help. After all it was baking not cooking and he couldn´t be that bad in both things after all, right?
Wrong!
Two sheets of burned to crisps cookies later, they knew he actually was that bad, and Kazuha banned him from the kitchen. Not without a job at least, as she’d placed the first plate of cookies in front his nose with a colorful assortment of sweets and warm chocolates to decorate them with.
“Ya can't ruin them with too much chocolate, so they should be safe with ya,” she had told him, before she’d disappeared back into the kitchen, leaving him confused and yes, maybe a tiny bit overchallenged in front of the first plate of cookies.
Heiji frowned and took the frosting bag, filled with warm brown chocolate in his hand, before a smile slowly found its way to his lips. Seemed like he still had his chance to tell her about... his opinion towards her. He'd seen decorated cookies with a tiny message on them everywhere, so it couldn't be that hard could it?
The Osakan picked one of the cookies, looking at it in concentration, thinking about the right way to place his sweet message, before he carefully placed the tip of the frosting bag on it, squishing it carefully, but cursed when the damn thing only left a dark smear on it. It even looked like - ah better not define the appearance of the ruined cookie any further.
‘Damn and what now?’ It was obvious that this kind of decoration was about to raise some questions, so what could he do about-
Crunch.
Heiji blinked when he noticed the sweet taste in his mouth, seems like his stomach had made the decision for him and a good one as well, since there wasn't left any evidence for his deed.
‘The perfect crime.’
Well it maybe was after the first plate of cookies, but not when he’d ruined the sixth. He swallowed his last fail. Atleast they were delicious, even if the cookies seemed to be plotting against him. After the chocolate had been dripping and smeared the first batch of cookies, it had now hardened and left nothing but an ugly heap on them instead of his supposed to be neat handwriting.
He tried himself with the last one, his last chance to make his plan work, well that was before Kazuha entered the room after she’d finished cleaning the kitchen from flour and cookie dough.
“Alright Heiji let's see what ya-” But she cut herself short, at the sight of the empty plates and the clear traces of chocolate at the corner of Heiji’s mouth.
“What have ya done!” she demanded, with her hands in her hips, making him flinch on his spot on the sofa.
“Uh..”
“Where are all tha cookies? Don't tell me-” But his face already answered her question.
“Ya ate them! All of them?” she shirked, reaching for one of the plates that offered nothing but a few crumbs of what she’d been baking all day.
“Uh..” he swallowed, his cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
“I can't believe ya ta be that selfish!” That finally pushed him from his stupor, so that he pushed himself from his seat.
“Oi! I didn't do it on purpose, they were ugly that's why-”
“They were what?!”
‘Oh fuck.’ He paled.
“I mean they weren't that good anyway,” he grumbled, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“Ah- really?” Kazuha was about to argue again, before she blinked, looking worried now.
“Uh- no, I mean, yes- I mean, they weren't when I was done with them,” Heiji finally admitted, but not without pointing at the one thing that was responsible for his fail.
“It's not my fault that tha stupid chocolate didn't work!”
“Ya know that ya have ta warm it up in between right? And if something didn't turn out right ya simply could have covered tha whole thing with chocolate, instead of eating every single one!”
He blinked and for a moment there was nothing but silence between them.
“So, can I try again?”
“No way! No more cookies for ya mister.” Kazuha sighed, placing the frosting bags in the warm water.
“Oi, that's not fair!” Heiji whined, but took his seat again, while his friend raised an eyebrow.
“Ya had enough of them anyway.”
“Just because I tried ta solve a problem.”
“Well, ya better stick ta solving crimes.”
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
Kudo was right, they were cursed.
He’d thought he could push his none existing luck again and arranged a dinner date for Kazuha and himself. After all, he knew that Kazuha liked this place, so what could go wrong?
Apparently, everything.
They had just finished their appetizer, and Kazuha wouldn't stop asking him why he was taking her out (she still suspected that he felt guilty for the “disappearing” cookies), but when he finally snapped and told her that it wasn't about that but something he had to say to her she’d suddenly gone silent and concentrated back on their food, without really caring about it.
He could feel her eyes on him from time to time, his mind running, searching for the right way to start their conversation again, or even better - to start the conversation, he’d invited her for. They weren't used to silence, not like this, and it seemed that Kazuha noticed that something was wrong, since it was her who finally broke the silence before he was able to form a sentence at all.
“And… what, what do ya have to tell me?”
Heiji swallowed, taken aback by the sudden question.
But the lump in his throat only got worse when he looked at her again. Kazuha was biting her lips with a faint blush on her cheeks, it was obvious that she was suddenly nervous too, even if she didn´t know what he wanted to tell her – or maybe she did?
Maybe she liked him the way he liked her?
Was she waiting for him to tell her?
Why didn't she say anything?
What if she liked someone else?
The detective shook his head. Trying to calm his racing heart, he reached for her hand, holding her delicate fingers in his own and it seemed that time stood still between them.
That was until an explosion shook the building.
The light went out right after the detonation, leaving the whole restaurant screaming in fear, since no one knew what was going on. Kazuha tightened the grip on his hand when he pushed himself from his chair.
“Heiji! What’s going on?” She trembled and he could see the fear in her eyes when the emergency generator provided at least some light.
“I don't know.” The detective looked around, searching where the explosion had come from and when he finally looked out of the window he saw it. The opposite building reflected a blazing fire, just two floors above them and Heiji cursed when the faint scent of smoke already reached his nose. Kazuha noticed his dark expression and followed his gaze, gasping at what she saw, but before she was able to say anything, Heiji shushed her.
“Don´t. Ya’ll only cause a panic,” he reminded her and Kazuha nodded, her eyes still fixed at the flames reflecting in the window.
“I need ya ta get these people out of here, tell them who ya are and that ya dad called ya or whatever - just see to it that they don´t panic.” Kazuha nodded, but gripped his fingers with both hands.
“What about ya?”
“I’ll see if there is anyone upstairs and get them out.” Kazuha nodded and he slowly loosened the grip of her hand on his own, ready to go, before her soft voice stopped him.
“Heiji-“ She bit her lips, her eyes resting on her feet before she looked up in worry.
“… be careful.”
“Sure.” The detective smiled, nodded and made his way to the stairs. But the only one he did find after he’d stormed through all seven rooms on fire, was the bomber himself, unconscious – who later told the police that his wife had left him a year ago on this day in this restaurant – so it seemed it wasn´t the best place to confess, after all.
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Eight peaceful hours, Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
It was perfect.
He’d brought her to the ice rink he’d like to visit earlier. The whole place was decorated in colorful fairy lights and evergreens, they even had a big Christmas three in the middle of the ice. It was nice, they felt like they were flying over ice, in their warm clothes with a big smile on their lips and he could use the one or other chance to hold her hand, before he had to catch her since she’d been to fast at some point, calling his name, before she landed in his open arms.
“Ah-“ Kazuha blushed, with her cheek on his chest.
“Uhm- thank you.” She murmured and leaned back in order to offer him some distance again, but Heiji didn´t answer, instead continued to hold her close.
Kazuha looked up, blushing again, when she noticed that she could feel his heartbeat beneath her fingertips, but she didn´t struggle to get away from his grip. No, it felt good, warm… and safe.
Heiji took a shivering breath, looking down into her bright green eyes. His heart was beating, fast but strong and despite his mouth feeling dry he managed to hold her hand and finally found the words he’d wanted to tell her for so long.
“Kazuha I – I love you.”
He held his breath and waited for her answer.
The golden light of the sinking sun, brushed her cheeks and the fairy lights all around them seemed to multiply in her eyes when she finally replied him with a soft smile.
“I love you too… Heiji.”
.
.
.
She mirrored his smile, she didn´t knew what he was dreaming about, but after these last day’s he deserved some piece.
“Kazuha-chan, I’m home!” Her father announces, but instead of a warm welcome Ginshiro was greeted by a hiss from his daughter.
“Psst!”
“Huh- What?” He blinked, following her back into the living room, only to find Heiji Hattori solid asleep on his sofa.
“He’s asleep.” Kazuha helped her confused father to understand the situation.
“I can see that, but why?” The officer frowned.
Kazuha shrugged and turned her attention back to Heiji.
“These last days had were hard on him – he came over to help my with a school assignment, but when I prepared everything he was suddenly asleep and-“ Kazuha bit her lip.
‘- I couldn´t bring myself ta wake him.’  She smiled, pulling the blanked back up to his shoulders.
Ginshiro left them, offering to order take out food, so none of them would have to cook. Kazuha nodded and thanked him, before she took a seat beside Heiji, she had to admit that he looked kind of cute like this.
Eight peaceful hours Heiji had to realize that his perfect confession had been nothing but a dream, but when he finally stirred ready to get up he noticed a weight on his shoulders only to find Kazuha who’d fallen asleep waiting for him to wake up.
On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Nine poisoned mistletoes, Eight peaceful hours, Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
There was one thing, one cliché Christmas tradition which could be found in every romantic Christmas movie and always seemed to work like a lucky charm.
A mistletoe.
It was an old tradition, that whoever met under the mistletoe was supposed to kiss the other. Heiji swallowed, his head changed color at the very thought alone. Well, they didn´t have to kiss right away, but maybe he could use the tradition to finally reveal his feelings to her and whatever happened afterwards… was up to them.
At least he hoped that that since special charms seemed to be kind of their thing, his cursed luck when he tried to tell her would be reversed by the mistletoe.
He found a place, not far from their school, where they had hung a mistletoe right above a gate, leading to a small park.
This time however he would make sure that Kazuha would be there, so he sort of kidnapped her right after class, dragging her along. Apparently that wasn´t the best idea to since his hears felt like they would start to bleed every second now, terrorized from her questions.
“Heiji, I demand that ya tell me where we’re going!” She whined, before he rolled his eyes again still taking her further.
“I already told ya that’s supposed ta be a surprise!”
“But-“ Heiji stopped her before she could annoy him any further.
“Now come on!” He didn´t slow down until the park finally came into sight, a big smile spreading over his lips.
Heiji stopped in the gateway, a little out of breath by his hurry. Kazuha huffed as well, her breath creating little white clouds. He could feel his heartbeat fasten, her hand was still in his own, and he closed is fingers once more around it, daring to tug her a little closer.
She looked at him in surprise, still not knowing what was going on, but blushed a little since he was to her.
“Heiji what?” Kazuha could feel that he was up to something, he was behaving really strange this month and even now the slight blush on his cheeks confused her.
“Look up.” He smirked knowingly.
He bit his lips when she finally did, his mind going crazy thinking about what was about to happen when she finally saw the little charm right above their heads and maybe… he would even gain more than to reveal his feelings to her. A grin spread over his lips, he would even be a step ahead of Kudo. Heiji took a deep breath, closing his eyes, waiting for what was about to happen, before Kazuha’s somewhat annoyed question broke through his little dream.
“And… what now?”
Hattori blinked in surprise.
‘What?’ But his question was answered when he finally looked up, only to find that his lucky charm was missing.
“I, uh- where is it?”
“Where is what?” Before he could answer Kazuha’s question another voice interrupted him.
“Heiji-kun? Is that you?”
“O-Otaki-keiji?”  The high schoolers frowned when the officer made a step towards them.
“What are ya doing here?” The tall officer sighed and shook his head, before he answered.
“We had to confiscate the mistletoe.”
“Huh, what mistletoe?” Kazuha wondered.
“Ah the one-umpf” Officer Otaki’s answer was muffled by Heiji’s gloved hands, who looked at the detective in confusion before his eyes went wide.
“Uh- oh! Oh!” Heiji let go and tried to ignore his bright glowing cheeks while Otaki smiled at him, before he cleared his throat.
“So what’s wrong with it.”
“It’s poisoned.”
“What!?”
So his chance ended in another case, featuring a poisoned mistletoe that left other couples in the hospital, because the wind had caused the poison to flutter down on them. In the end there had been nine of them, spread all over the city and it took the police and him three whole days to put the puzzle pieces together and find the culprit.
Heiji sighed, that much for his hopes for a little Christmas miracle.
On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Ten icy snow balls, Nine poisoned mistletoes, Eight peaceful hours, Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
They had to study and he promised himself to focus on that and only that. His parents were out, so they had decided to put their base camp in the living room. It would be their last test before winter break and Kazuha had even brought what was left of the Christmas cookies he’d almost ruined.
Heiji frowned and took another bite of his cookie. Kazuha had left a few minutes ago to get a book she’d forgotten at home. The Osakan sighed and let himself fall back to the carpet stretching his legs beneath the table. There were only a few day’s left until Christmas, maybe he should simply give up. ‘Yea… I guess that would be tha best.’
He closed his eyes and tried not to think about it, but with the sweet taste of cookies in his mouth and the clock ticking in the background it was just a matter of time until his temper got the better of him.
“Damn it! What is talking her so long!?”
Heiji cursed and pushed himself from the ground. Kazuha had left through the porch door through their backyard so she should come back that way too. But when Heiji pushed the door open he wasn´t only greeted by a blow of icy wind and snow but Kazuha’s laughter as well. It had snowed a good deal, their whole backyard looked like a winter wonder land. In the middle of it all was his childhood friend, laying on her back in the soft snow laughing joyfully.
He blinked in surprise, making another step to her.
“Oi, what are ya doing?” Kazuha just laughed and stopped her movements to lay there, staring up at the white heaving and the snow falling on top of her.
“I was making a snow angle.” She grinned and didn´t saw that Heiji just raised an eyebrow, daring to question if she’d just gone crazy, but Kazuha just continued.
“Don´t you think that it sometimes feels like magic? Everything is white and looking so clean and soft, while the world we know it seems to be asleep. Maybe that’s what haven looks like.” She rambled in amazement, with a warm smile on her lips.
“It’s beautiful.”
Heiji swallowed and finally could see that she indeed had made a snow angle, still lying there with her own wings of snow, her eyes glittering with joy.
‘It is…’
That was his chance.
The detective bit his lips but when he looked up again, only to be hit in the face, by what was supposed to be his cold white ally.
‘What the-‘
Kazuha had stuck him with a snow ball, now giggling like a maniac at his dumbfounded expression.
Heiji blinked and shivered a little when the snow run down his collar, even though it didn´t take long to provoke a reaction from the detective.
“YOU-!”
“Ya’re going ta regret that!” He cursed and started to form a snowball himself, while Kazuha was already searching shelter behind the next three, where she could form more “weapons”.
Ten icy snow balls later- he didn´t know that she could throw so well- the big speech he’d planned was forgotten, as well as their studies, while he focused on an ice cold revenge.
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Eleven hostages screaming,  Ten icy snow balls, Nine poisoned mistletoes, Eight peaceful hours, Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
Heiji groaned and let himself sink into the free chair he’d cast an eye on half an hour ago, when it was still occupied by another annoyed and tired man.
‘Why did I even agree on this?´
Kazuha had vanished in the next changing booth, because after they had been strolling through the crowded shopping mall for the last three hours, searching for Christmas gifts she wasn´t tired, no- instead a dress in a shop window had lured her in and him with her.
She only wanted to try it on, even through she knew that it would be too expensive anyway- so why the trouble? Why even trying it? There was no logic to that- so the detectives mind wasn´t able to understand her actions, not at all.
He sneezed and glared at the Christmas three decorated right beside the changing cabins, it seems that he become allergic to them- what a surprise! Heiji sneezed again and pushed himself deeper into the chair with an annoyed groan.
“Hey, what’s taking you so long!” His grumble joined the sound of “Last Christmas” that was played for what felt the thousandth time.
“Alright-“ Kazuha announced and the curtain of her changing cabin wavered, before she finally stepped outside.
“-here I come.”
Well, she did. Wearing a dark green dress, with some lance here and there and simply looked stunning.  Heiji didn´t react- or at least he didn´t notice his reaction, so he wasn´t aware that he stood up and made a step towards her, mouth a gasp, while “Wham!” to give their heart to someone special. He kept staring until Kazuha waved her hand in front of her nose, looking at him in confusion.
“Oi- earth to Heiji! Hello?” He blinked, slightly confused about how he got here.
“Could you please- I mean, could you close it for me?” She stuttered, cheeks glowing a little red, before she turned around exposing her back to her- or should he say, her almost naked back.
The detective swallowed and observed how his own shivering fingers closed the sipper of her dress, carefully not to touch her skin.
“Thank you.” He nodded, still unable to form a correct sentence.  Kazuha smiled her cheeks still tined in red, before she took a step back, gesturing up and down herself.
“So… what do ya think?”
Heiji’s mouth had suddenly gone dry, he swallowed before he was finally able to from something similar to words.
“You- ya’re looking-“
But a gunshot stopped him form telling her that she was the most beautiful being he’d ever seen and that he loved her. Instead he looked around to find four man dressed in black with masks covering their faces and guns in their hands.
“No one moves!”
‘Oh seriously?!’ He grunted.
“Kazuha get down!”
So, their shopping trip ended in being held hostage with at least eleven other people until he was able to outwit the man, along with the police. Kazuha however brought the dress back and he knew that his chance to see her in it again, was less than zero.
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Twelve missing heartbeats, Eleven hostages screaming,  Ten icy snow balls, Nine poisoned mistletoes, Eight peaceful hours, Seven rooms on fire, Six plates of cookies, Five bloody noses, Four eyes to visit, Three stolen purses, Two hot chocolates, And a murder in a café!
Heiji sighed and ignored the cold wind caressing his cheeks and the snowflakes settling in his dark hair.  He’d failed.
It was Christmas eve and tomorrow all the sparkle, spirit and wonder would be gone again, along with his chance to tell her… that he loved her.
Maybe it just- shouldn´t be.
Alright, Kudo had taken some tries as well, but not what- eleven?!
At least everything could go back to normal, once this day was over. His parents were hosting a small party for their friends and family and of course Kazuha was there too. Wearing a breathtaking red dress, that was enough to transform him into a stuttering idiot, gasping for air like a fish out of water. All the love and joy all around him was simply too much- why had it been so hard to tell her the truth anyway? It was like he’d been cursed.
He took his chance to get some air, choosing the wide balcony on the upper floor, which allowed him to see a glimpse of the city.  The whole neighborhood was dressed in cold white snow, with magical touches of light form the decoration of the different houses.
Heiji took a deep breath, it was calm, peaceful, maybe he would be able to forget-
“Heiji?”
‘Oh darn it!’
“What are ya doing here?” She questioned and stepped on the balcony, tugging her dark purple cloak closer around her body, while he answered with a sigh looking back at the city again.
“Just catching some breath.” Kazuha nodded, before she noticed that he was wearing no coat, his dark green pullover was the only protection against the snow.
“Alll ya catch will be a cold, here take this.” And before the Osakan had a chance to answer he found her warm red scarf around his neck. He blushed in surprise when he noticed the soft scent of her perfume, which still lingered in the stitches.
When he looked up again, Heiji suddenly noticed that Kazuha was still standing close to him, one hand resting on his chest, where she had placed the end of the scarf, staring holes in his chest.
‘K-Kazuha?’ He swallowed when she finally looked up again and immediately dared to drown in her eyes. Silent Christmas music reached them from downstairs, muffled by the snow and while the night was pitch black, the city lights all around them formed their own universe of bright glowing stars in the darkness.
“Heiji, I …” Kazuha started to stutter, it wasn´t just the cold wind that dipped her cheeks into a warm red color.
“There is, something I want to tell you, that wanted to tell you for a while now…” Heiji’s eyes grew wide, he could feel his heartbeat fasten, while it felt like ants were crawling up and down his spine.
No… it couldn´t be… could it?
Kazuha took a shivering breath, her fingers digging into his pullover afraid that he might go, that she would lose him after what she was about to tell him and yet he grounded her and was the reason she found the courage to look up again.
“Heiji I… love you.”
Her words were barely more than a whisper but enough to make his heart stop.
It was like the snow had stopped falling mind air, time stood still only for them while Heiji found himself lost in her eyes. It took the detective twelve missing heartbeats until he was finally able to respond, even though his answer wasn´t what any of them expected.
“WHAT?!”
He shouted, gasping for breath while his now supposed to be girlfriend just looked at him with wide eyes. “You- but- I- HOW?!”  Heiji stuttered, she told him- just like that, she told him.
That meant that she loved him right?
Well, that was a good thing.
It was amazing!
But why had it been so easy for her just to-
“Heiji- what are you talking about?” Her voice ripped him from his trance, she didn´t dare to look at him and her voice held an unsteady shiver to it.
“Don´t you- I mean-“  Heiji was taken aback by the sudden tremble in her voice and looked down at her, but Kazuha avoided his gaze, yet he could see that her eyes dared to become glassy and she was biting her lips - Darn it, he’d managed to ruin even that!
“What no- I mean yes. Arg!” He took a deep breath, massaging the bridge of his nose with a sigh.
“I’ve been trying to tell you, these last weeks but everything went wrong and now you just-“ The detective muttered, instinctively holding her a little closer. Kazuha just blinked and looked up at him again, only to find his face glowing bright red in embarrassment.
“So that’s what it’s been all about?” She asked with a smirk, remembering his strange behavior and all the “not dates” in the past month.
“Well yeah…” Heiji stuttered. He took a deep breath and brushed a melting snowflake from her cheek, before he continued with a sigh.
“I wanted it to be perfect.” Heiji confessed with a blush.
Kazuha just shook her head with a smile, before she allowed her hand to touch his cheek.
“It is, silly.”
The detective smiled and took her hand into his own.
‘True.’
“I love you Kazuha.”

7th movie time! I can't say this is one of my favourites despite being a Heiji movie because the premise of it is just... bad. Heiji is actually not in love with his childhood friend but a stranger he saw years ago but then it's revealed that stranger was his childhood friend all along! Ha.
And it starts with Ran worrying about Shinichi because that's the role of her character and I cry everytime because she deserves better.
You don't have to see him off with a smile, Kazuha. You could ask to join him. Be assertive, you're a fiery person, it's not ooc for you to be so.
Oh, these subtitles aren't the best.
Shinichi's showing off his athletic ability again. He jumped really high there, and backwards.
Ran teasing Sonoko for a change is well deserved.
I can't believe they're taking an interview of Heiji saying he met his first love when he was 7/8 years old so seriously. He saw her for a MOMENT. That is not a first love, it's just a crush and one born from something as shallow as looks. God this subplot is so braindead.
Shinichi is a spider monkey.
Oh yeah, they randomly used CGI, I think, for the chase and I don't know why because it's so out of place T-T
Shinichi always lands on his feet.
Shinichi is inconsiderate and does not remember he has a meeting with Ran and she waits 2 extra hours for him and we're supposed to find it so sweet and romantic because she wasn't mad about it!! I'm going to throw up in my mouth. Stop making Ran a fucking doormat for fucks sake.
Shinichi has really corrupted Heiji and I love it. Shinichi just stealing the keys to investigate and Heiji no longer bats an eye and even expects it.
Shinichi teasing Heiji over the killer being his first love :p Deserved for having such a bad sub plot.
Heiji: She's the one. My first love.
Shinichi: ...All the children learn that song Heiji.
Heiji: No! It's her (spoilers: it's not)
Such a stupid subplot T-T
Heiji fainted :p
...Oh my god they came up with the most stupid reason for Ran to go to the temple so she can have that 'moment' with Shinichi. She was told where they ran off too and than she just decided to go to the other temple instead for no reason.
Shinichi is reckless T-T He goes in a situation in Heiji's place because his friend lost consciousness, turning back into Shinichi which is an extremely painful process for him, just to rescue Kazuha.
Heiji to Shinichi: I will be the warrior (your warrior)
This moment is so goddamn forced XD I'm laughing. Ran just had to come to the temple so she can have a "moment" with Shinichi and she doesn't even get that. And he knocks her out as if Ran wouldn't be of more use here than he would be considering she is the one who is a MARTIAL ARTS EXPERT.
Shinichi and his love for property damage.
Love the old monk catching onto Shinichi and Heiji and putting on Heiji's hat.
Excuse me while I cringe over the childhood friends bullshit romance.
And then Ran gets upset because boohoo other couples are happy but I'm not because my love interest doesn't trust me to tell me his secret, so romantic~
