Honestly if lil bro died Cam would shut down entirely. They'd try and distance themselves from the turtles as much as possible, feeling too guilty and distraught to even think about seeing any of them. He doesn't distance himself without a note though, a long handwritten note about how sorry he was for everything that happened, and how it was his idea to bring lil bro to the surface not Casey, so please don't be mad at him as much as you're mad at them. And theyd explain that they're distancing themselves and apologize one last time. And after that note they only ever see Cam in passing, and Casey is only ever seen having clipped conversations with April.

Casey felt like shit too, so he distanced himself along with Cam, figuring they had to stick together. But Casey still keeps in relative touch with April, though it's not like it was.

Raph felt like shit. He's grieving his baby brother, and now he's grieving his friends. Yeah he was pissed at them, and yeah it was partially their fault, but they didn't have to go and leave like that. It's bullshit. All bullshit. He starts to resent them both eventually, calling them cowards who left when the going got tough.

Mikey was distraught at first, first he lost his little brother and now he lost his friends? Sure they did something wrong and sure he was upset at them but he didn't want them to leave! They were all a family! They were supposed to be a family anyway. He starts to resent Cam a little as well, but not in the same way as Raph, more in a "You broke your promise" way.

Donnie was probably the most affected by Cam's disappearance specifically. He lost both of the people who actually listened to him in one go. Lil bro's death and Cam's disappearance finally pushed him over the edge. He can't work, can't eat, can't do anything without feeling that heavy weight of sadness looming over him, threatening to press down, hard.

And Leo was so fucked up about his baby brother's death, that he didn't spare a single thought towards Cam. After a while of not seeing him around maybe It hits him, maybe he slowly realizes that he mightve been a bit too harsh, maybe he realizes that it wasn't only your fault, but all of their faults combined. Maybe he realizes how childish he was being, and maybe he feels guilty. But maybe he doesn't. Maybe this only fuels his anger toward them. Who's to say.

post WaD headcanon time: Hunter probably didn’t carve Waffles as she was, per se. like, he still had so much baggage about “getting replaced” from his GG days that he probs felt if he carved another bird it’d be kinda like replacing Flapjack and how terrible would he feel abt it

i’m thinking he’s some time into his apprenticeship under Dell and has already gotten a hang at carving palismen for other folks and he is really good at it and FEELS good about it, but the thought of making one for himself kinda still makes his stomach turn. but bit by bit, he feels he’s able to move on and thinks about getting one for himself, but there’s still so much doubt and guilt that he’s not sure what to carve

it’s at this point that Luz suggests he carve an egg like she did with Stringbean, and that way he can sort of let the palisman decide for themselves what they want to be, and also give Hunter some time to reflect about it and to grieve and talk to them about his doubts and fears, but also his hopes and wishes

i think it would take much longer for his palisman egg to hatch than Luz’s did, but it was okay, they were giving each other time to get to know each other, even without actually meeting in person

i’m imagining his surprise when another bird breaks out of that egg, but it’s alright, because she decided what she’d be and look like, and she chose to be with him at the right moment and accept everything about all he’s ever told her while she was still in that egg, and he’s so happy and grateful for this beautiful little blue bird 🥹

Sometimes i really hate how gendered the German language is. Cause the term 'partner'? That you say so people don't immediately know what gender you partner is? Yeah you can't do that in German. I say 'Partner' in Germany and people are gonna assume it means male partner because that's the male version of that word. If I wanted it to be accurate I'd have to say 'Partnerin' (the female version of Partner) which really defeats the whole purpose of having a genderless term for someone you're in a relationship with...
