i’m taking it upon myself to explain my ideal shimuchi because it makes 0 sense as a ship without context
here’s the thing. in canon, this wouldn’t work. shimura is a bit of a doormat and higuchi constantly puts others down to make himself look/feel better, which isn’t exactly the best combination for a relationship, especially in the context of canon where higuchi is a murderer with shimura’s life in his hands. in order for shimuchi to work, they have to be in some sort of AU situation where shimura has necessary skills/expertise and higuchi has to acknowledge them without being in a superior position. maybe they’re working on a project together that involves a lot of legal ins and outs, or something else that shimura happens to know more about. maybe it’s something more silly, or maybe it’s something entirely ridiculous. the exact details aren’t too important so long as higuchi has to begrudgingly admit shimura’s worth. the rest of this is purely headcanon.
shimura’s companionship could be a very positive thing for higuchi. shimura is an earnest person in a meaningful way that no one else in the yotsuba group really is, and it’s been a very long time since higuchi really interacted with someone like that. he might not realize it at first, but he needs that breath of fresh air, and maybe he’d be able to recognize that over time. while shimura doesn’t really like higuchi, he’s also much more non-judgmental than most of their colleagues, and between that and his earnestness i could see higuchi opening up to him later on and also generally being less abrasive.
shimura definitely isn’t predisposed to like higuchi much, but as he gets to know him more, he’d start to realize just how sad a person he really is (which he already sort of knew but not to a huge extent). once higuchi starts to be a bit less rude shimura would even begin to find him funny and charmingly odd sometimes. if given the opportunity, shimura likes to feel like he’s helping someone, and being able to counsel an obviously troubled person like higuchi (sorry dude but it’s true) would be very gratifying for him.
once they actually got to know each other more, they could have a nice mutualistic relationship and even become close. shimura’s constant observance of literally everything would force higuchi to do some dearly needed self-examination, and higuchi would encourage shimura to take up for himself more (a lot of “are you really going to let him talk to you like that?” conversations, which, funnily enough, is similar to how i imagine ooi and shimura’s relationship when they were younger). higuchi would have to get over shimura’s role in his demotion, but he could probably manage it with a bit of struggling considering shimura’s influence would move him in a positive direction anyway. it could be a good thing! too bad higuchi is kira.

I rewatched Death Note focusing on the japanese 1st person pronouns the characters use (because I'm an otaku and I find it interesting). I'm not an expert, so I'm mainly going to point out everyone's pronouns and add a little analysis/opinion based on what I know or read online about their usage. Some characters probably won't get explanations because I have nothing to say. Also: since this is a piece of fiction the pronouns can tell us more about someone's personality. Also: I can only analyze the formality of the pronouns not the rest of the speech, because I don't know japanese that well!
Warning: like half of this post is about Higuchi because he's funny to me. And I included all of Yotsuba, who are pretty minor characters.
Kira Task Force:
Light Yagami Starting with Light as the main character, his pronoun of choice is 僕 (ぼく/boku). Boku is typically used by boys and young men. It's considered polite and humble. If I'm not mistaken only 2 other characters in Death Note use boku (Matsuda and Hatori from Yotsuba). It's a fitting pronoun for the perfect student and son, Light Yagami. It also gives a funny contrast to his ego-driven Kira speeches.
There is a couple of situations when Light uses 私 (わたし/watashi) (because it's gender neutral, and more... neutral in general). It's when he acts as L or Kira on the phone with someone, so in situations where he's trying to hide his identity.
L L uses 私 (わたし/watashi). It's gender neutral and usually used by men in formal settings. L comes accross as wanting to sound polite (he always uses honorifics for people, even correcting himself one time when he forgets to do so with Matsuda).
Tumblr media
He yells out "Matsuda", but then corrects it to "Matsuda-san". He also calls Light "Light-kun" or "Yagami-kun". It's a funny contrast that he cares about this, because otherwise he isn't very polite (especially to Matsuda).
In the anime (sadly I don't think he uses any pronouns in that scene in the manga) when he calls Matsuda (who's in Yotsuba building) and pretends to be his friend he uses 俺 (おれ/ore).
Matsuda As I said earlier, he uses the same pronouns as Light - boku. He's the youngest member of the Task Force (save for Light and L) and his pronoun gives him that youthful feeling.
One situation I've heard him use a different pronoun was when he got busted by the Yotsuba Group, and introduced himself with 私 (わたくし/watakushi) - an even more polite version of watashi. Oh, he also uses watashi on Sakura TV, for similar reasons to Light's usage of watashi.
Soichiro Yagami 私 (わたし/watashi). I don't think he's ever shown using a different one? We only see most of the Kira Task Force at work, so it's expected that they all use formal pronouns.
Aizawa 私 (わたし/watashi). Except for when he's quitting the Task Force, then he switches to 俺 (おれ/ore). Ore is a masculine informal pronoun, considered more rude and rough. He's angry at L and it shows.
Mogi 私 (わたし/watashi), I think, but he doesn't talk much.
Team Kira:
Misa Amane Misa's main pronoun is her name. She basically talks about herself in 3rd person, which might sound silly in english, so most translations don't include it. It's cutesy and childlish and she probably does this as part of her idol persona.
She also uses 私 (わたし/watashi) at times (which is basically the most common pronoun used by women). As I mentioned before, it's considered formal when men use it, but for women it can be both formal and informal. Well, she uses it formally (when it's weird to just use Misa) for example in the Yotsuba interview. And of course, just like Light she uses watashi when posing as Kira (on the tapes in Sakura TV, on the phone in the 2nd part of the series).
Here's Misa using watashi during the interview:
Tumblr media
Teru Mikami 私 (わたし/watashi)
Kiyomi Takada 私 (わたし/watashi)
Shinigami:
Ryuk 俺 (おれ/ore)
Rem 私 (わたし/watashi)
Yotsuba Arc:
Most of my research comes from Yotsuba arc (like all the specific examples above...) so I'm including the Yotsuba Group guys. But first, others from this arc.
Aiber 俺 (おれ/ore) usually, 私 (わたし/watashi) when acting as Eraldo Coil.
Wedy 私 (わたし/watashi)
Yotsuba Group: First I have to say that we see them most of them only at work, so they're going to use formal pronouns.
Hatori 僕 (ぼく/boku), but he uses watashi once when keeping watch on Matsui.
Takahashi He doesn't use any in the Kira Meetings (because he doesn't talk much). I'm pretty sure I heard him using ore (maybe at the party?), but I couldn't find it in the manga.
Namikawa 私 (わたし/watashi)
Mido 私 (わたし/watashi)
Shimura He actually is only shown using 俺 (おれ/ore). Even at the meetings. He's a very unassuming guy, so I feel like there's a contrast with him using the informal ore with his coworkers, when most of the others use watashi.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Namikawa and Mido still use formal watashi, even when the three of them are hanging out at Mido's house. The only one using ore is again, Shimura.
Tumblr media
I think thanks to his kind personality his usage of ore gives a sense of familiarity, instead of sounding crass.
Ooi 私 (わたし/watashi) in the meetings. In a call with Kida, he uses 俺 (おれ/ore). I want to add that in a work setting ore can be used by people that are either older or in superior positions. Ooi is the oldest in the group, and de facto leads the meetings, but idk if it means anything. Maybe he uses watashi with the group, but ore one-on-one? Maybe that's the etiquette?
Tumblr media
Kida 私 (わたし/watashi)
Higuchi We get more scenes with him and we get to see him switching pronouns. One of them is 私 (わたし/watashi). He uses it in those situations: - talking to Rem (and/or himself). He seems to respect her so he's usually formal when talking to her. This might be also him talking to himself, but since Rem's there let's assume it's at least half-aimed at her... Anyway, here Higuchi talks about marrying Misa:
Tumblr media
Even when giving this ego-driven speech (again, about marrying Misa and some more...) he uses watashi:
Tumblr media
Talking with Rem in the car:
Tumblr media
- thinking. He's kinda inconsistent because he thinks with both watashi and ore. Mostly watashi though. Maybe he uses ore when he feels more confident? Here after confessing to Misa he's Kira:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And some more:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least in two of those he's like "my life is over, i'll lose my job... oh and go to jail and maybe die... but my job...!"
- in formal/business setting. Ok that's a stretch, but before making this post I was convinced he used it more in the series. We can assume he would in a formal situation, but it doesn't happen in the manga so I have no proof. Huh. Here he pretends to be a lost businessman before shooting Light's dad:
Tumblr media
Then there's 俺 (おれ/ore). It's typically used by men around family and friends. It can sound cocky, and indicates a sense of masculinity. Situations where Higuchi uses ore include:
- talking to coworkers. Higuchi doesn't talk that much during meetings and if he does he doesn't use any pronouns. I was wondering if he's more like Ooi (watashi during meetings, ore outside meetings) or Shimura (always ore). I think it's the second based on these two panels:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least I think it's him talking to Shimura? This moment was cut from the anime so we don't know who's saying it, but it fits Higuchi (and the person saying it uses ore so that excludes most of the people there). The panel below it shows him responding to Mido with ore.
Below are other moments he uses ore with coworkers, during the Misa interview and on the phone with Mido:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like with most things Higuchi does I think he's going for nonchalant, but it comes across as sloppy and disrespectful. Just look at him here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His chair is so far back, he's leaning in it with crossed arms. He's trying to show how much he doesn't give a fuck about this interview... Even if it's in his interest to get info about L from Misa! Talk about posturing.
- date with Misa, including his Kira confession. I think it's common for men to use ore when talking to women they're pursuing? I've read about a shoujo manga where the male lead usually uses watashi, but it's a big moment when he switches to ore with the female lead to show he's serious about her (/interested in her romantically).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- thinking. This one happens before he confesses he's Kira:
Tumblr media
And he uses ore after making the eye deal when he's like "I'm invincible" (lol). I don't know what to get from this, but there's like 3 panels where he thinks with ore as compared to 6+ with watashi.
Wammy's house:
Near 私 (わたし/watashi)
Mello 俺 (おれ/ore). He's the odd one out when compared to formal L and Near. Well, he is a thug and works with the mafia.
Matt 俺 (おれ/ore). I was surprised to find it so easily considering his lack of screentime.

I love how much you love Higuchi! He needs wayyy more content (all the yotsuba group does)
Aw, I'm happy to hear that :^) Yotsubas are pretty niche but I like seeing stuff with them... Since it's on topic I'll share this drawing (I feel like it was cooler in my head so I never posted it)

Do you have a music playlist for Kyosuke Higuchi?
I didn't before, but I do now.
To be fair, I've been meaning to make one for quite some time now but Higuchi (for me anyway) is kind of a hard one musically. And its not because his music taste isn't insanely predictable, that's not the problem. I just find it hard to pick a wide enough selection of songs while still going "yeah, these ones right here". I chose these songs based off of what he'd probably listen to but also if the songs scream Higuchi. I like to imagine he was a rivethead as a young adult (which is how he met Namikawa as the goth scene and industrial scene heavily overlapped in Europe. I like to imagine that Namikawa was travelling and met Higuchi while he was staying in Germany for a while in an underground nightclub, but that's a story for another day lol). As such, he'd probably listen to industrial, EBM etc. and get a taste for bands like KMFDM. I imagine he got a taste for metal later (think 30s, probably through industrial metal like Rammstein and maybe Rob Zombie if you want to argue that) and likes extreme metal and death metal in particular, but I didn't add much in at all because this is off the top of my head.
I did this on a burner account because my main Spotify is shared and also cringe so.
I also have a Shimura playlist if you're interested (which I think is way better).
See, this one's 10x better because it has a massive Drab Majesty interlude and then continues with the playlist.
I'm also currently in the midst of making a Namikawa playlist and a Hatori playlist which I'll probably share whether people like it or not.
(The images I used for both playlists I found on Pinterest a squillion years ago so please don't sue me or kick down my door wielding a pitchfork in your hand).

“Bad news,” Aiber says over the phone.
“Yes?” L dangles the phone carefully between two fingers. Light looks over in mild interest.
“They want to interview Misa’s sister.”
L frowns. He had ordered Misa to say her sister was against her Kira fanaticism, yes… “What for?”
“The Yotsuba guys couldn’t find any information on her on the Internet,” Aiber explains, “and they want to make sure their background check is perfect.”
“What’s wrong, Ryuzaki?” Light asks from beside him. L shushes him by putting his finger on Light’s mouth, enjoying the way Light turns an angry pink.
“That’s fine,” he says instead to Aiber. “I’ve prepared for the eventuality.”
---
“’Sup,” says Wedy ‘Rika Amane’ Nolastname.
The Yotsuba group exchanges glances amongst themselves. Shimura is visibly trembling.
“Better make this quick,” Wedy continues, hooking a finger through the gun stuffed in her leather jacket pocket. (Terrible gun safety, but it impresses this type of person.) “I got some people to take care of in the afternoon.”
“Are you Misa Amane’s sister,” one of the businessmen manages.
“Yep,” Wedy lies, popping the P. “Til that good-for-nothing left to Kanto, anyway.”
“You’re so mean, sis,” Misa says, putting on the doe eyes.
“And you disapprove of Kira?” another one — Higuchi, she thinks? — asks.
“Hate the bastard. Killed some guys I know from the business.” She turns a baleful look on Misa. “Good men.”
“But sis, without him our parents…”
“Would still be just as fuckin’ dead, wouldn’t they?”
Tears pool in Misa’s eyes. Damn, she’s good at this acting business. “You’re just heartless!”
“I can show you what being heartless looks like,” Wedy intones, and puts her hand on the gun again.
---
“Did they have any further questions?”
“Nope!” Misa beams. “They all just sort of ran away.”
“What are you two talking about?” Light asks.
Ryuzaki pinches Light’s mouth shut. Light-kun makes very amusing fish noises this way, he’d said once, and Misa would have yelled at him for it except that… well, he’s right. “Well done, Misa-san, Wedy-san.”
“We make a great team!” Misa shoots finger guns in Wedy’s direction. “For a second, I almost thought I really had an older sister!”
Wedy salutes. “Anytime,” she says. “As long as ‘anytime’ means ‘never again,’ fuck you all, Aiber’s supposed to be the disguise man.”
“Aiber was already Eraldo Coil,” Light points out as he yanks Ryuzaki’s hand away from his face.
“And?” Wedy counters.
Misa… sort of wishes she had an older sister. It might have been less lonely.
But probably not. Probably whoever it was would have died that night too, because surviving despite the odds is a Misa-exclusive special.
Well, it isn’t worth wondering about, anyway. Misa’s a realist!
“It’s almost bedtime, Light,” she chirps, interrupting whatever argument Ryuzaki and Light had been having. “Are you feeling the loooove in the air?”
“No,” Light says.
Aw. She’ll get him next time.

does shimura have a DN XIII counterpart? 👀
I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT HIS XIII COUNTERPART RECENTLY (after seeing a few headcanons about him that I just incorporated into my portrayal).
I've also been wanting to try to design him (and the rest of the Yotsubas) because I have plans for them. Not that much info about him yet, but I do have things about his relationships with some of the other group members.
- Midou is his best friend, they've actually known each other before working at Yotsuba. I need to figure out *when* exactly they met, but I do know they got along fairly quickly despite things originally being pretty awkward. They kinda bonded over the fact that they were raised by one parent, which made them feel different from most of the people around them.
- Shimura and Hatori had something going on. I don't know what, but it was *something* between them. They tried to experiment with an actual relationship but it only ended up being a few flings here and there. Shimura feels not only guilt at the fact that Hatori dies, but also how he never got the chance to tell him exactly how he felt about him.
- After everything with Hatori, he got with Kida as a bit of a rebound relationship. Kida's incredibly aware of it, and doesn't mind it in the long run (he just hopes Shimura's able to fully move on).
Maybe I'll give him relatives or other people he talks to. I tend to do it alot, and I feel like it'd work. Sometimes you just gotta give a character a friend/rival/other kind of relationship for fun.
I might have him not get killed along with the others after the Yotsuba arc. I just think it'd be more interesting if they lived, if that makes any sense (or maybe just some of them lived while the others died, not sure yet :']).
And tiny fun fact: he's the second youngest out of the Yotsubas. If we go by their (changed) ages, from youngest to oldest: Higuchi (37), Shimura (39), Hatori (42), Takahashi (43), Midou + Namikawa (44), Kida (46), and Ooi (53).

I know it's not technically ONE ship, but - best and worst Shimura ship in your opinion?
(For the brutally honest ship opinion ask thig)
Send me a ship and I’ll give you my (brutally) honest opinion on it
oh man. ok, i have never actually seen a shimura ship floating around that i don't find somewhat interesting or didn't have a hand in creating. in total, there's shimuchi (shimura/higuchi), namura (shimura/namikawa), ooimura (ooi/shimura), midomura (shimura/mido), takamura (takahashi/shimura), and hatomura (hatori/shimura). so... every yotsuba member except kida. i've yet to see any shimura ships that involve anyone outside the other yotsubas.
for the best, i've gotta say hatomura, considering it's probably my otp? it's partially a sentimental thing; my boyfriend and i have been shipping them since we were in middle school. but i think there's a lot of interesting stuff going on there, including stuff i haven't really thought about until this past year, so we really keep developing this one!
the entire premise in canon is basically "shimura and hatori love each other but never express this to each other or realize it's requited, hatori dies, shimura is guilty and traumatized forever." it's the tragedy of having a hand in killing the person you love and being too cowardly to do more to stop it -- and, worse, the tragedy of killing someone who loves you and being too cowardly to do more to stop it.
there's more to it than just hatori's death, though. i also think they have something interesting in common, in that neither of them is really right at yotsuba. shimura was raised poor, and that alone makes him different from the other executives. hatori is the president's bastard son, so he's not very well-respected. shimura was a sports star; hatori was a literature major with a ceramics hobby. they just don't fit in. i think shimura went into business to try to raise himself above his birth status, and i think hatori went into business to attain the normalcy he never had as a child, which he never would've achieved as an author or an artist. ultimately, it gets them both killed, but maybe they could've found something better together. they also have a nice contrast in personalities and in design.
as for the worst ship, that's hard to say because i really enjoy each of them in their own way, be it unrequited or unhealthy or what have you. canonically speaking, i guess the answer is shimuchi. shimuchi does not work in canon, period. higuchi treats shimura like shit, and shimura thinks higuchi is a bad person. they don't like being around each other.
i do headcanon higuchi is attracted to shimura deep down and externalizes this by being a dick to him, which is similar to how i interpret higuchi -> namikawa, but it's not at all requited or even realized on higuchi's part. shimura just wants nothing to do with the guy. i only ship them in no-kira AUs where they have some reason to interact in a more positive way because i do think their personalities could mesh and they could even cause some positive growth in each other, if things were different. but the shimuchi manifesto is a post for another day
thanks for the ask!

Wow, that's a lot of letters.
While there's a lull in our creative chat with the girls, I'll be pouring out my thoughts here, if you don't mind. Warning, the author is attempting to analyze the characters.
My first attempt to write something really serious and voluminous led me to a successfully purchased textbook on the history of political and legal doctrines.
As long as I have the spirit, I managed to write an intermediate chapter (again, because I had half of the material ready in advance, otherwise I would not have published new parts at such a speed). I'm proofreading and editing for now, I think I'll post today, but when the next chapter will be out is the big question, guys. But it's better to try to immerse yourself in a topic and spend more time than to publish quickly and screw it up.
What I was thinking while I was spelling out the part.
Shimura must be having a really hard time living in Japan. At least after what happened. He's a decent citizen, he knows how to keep his face in public, and he's generally a nice guy. But basically, what he has:
-public shame
-he tends to isolate himself from the few people he has close to him.
-he needs support, but because of his perceived isolation and fear of judgment, he is now more alone than ever, as a consequence of which he has a huge internal conflict. His inner Japanese is suffering a bit (probably suffering a lot) also because he's been affected by the presence of an almost-daughter-American in his life and has spent a lot of time with a half-American recently, and the culture is very different between the nations
I'm guessing Namikawa has influenced Shimura more than anyone suggests, but not enough to make Suguru sick of himself. On the plus side comes Mido, who until recently was an integral part of Namikawa, and the traits of school friends are reflected in each other. I don't know if I did a good job of reflecting it, but Mido is so shy a bit, but emotional in informal settings and a true Shingo not quite up to Japanese standards. And now Shimura feels an inner conflict between the fact that as a Japanese he needs to save face and his inner humanity without gender, nation or age, just a man who wants to be understood and heard. And Shimura precisely lacks the ability (or nurturing) to express all that he feels, and he's simmering in this cauldron of complex emotions that are tearing him apart, alone.
-Now discussing the development of this thought with my psychologist friend, but I'll just leave it here for now. It seems to me that Shima has a new problem in the form of a complicated relationship with Mido in light of recent circumstances
Another goal of writing this piece is to expose as many Yutsuba men as possible as human beings, and so far that goal has not been achieved. So besides the misadventures of the main characters, we'll be treated to mentions of Hatori, Higuchi and his family, Kida doing shit, and Ooi desperately trying to keep things under control.
I've been writing this work for 8 months now. Honestly - I don't know how many pages it takes. I thought I was about halfway there now, but I guess I still have more to write.
Nobody. Nobody at all: Hope: OH DAMN WHY WOULDN'T I WRITE A HUGE WORK ON PERSONS WHO WERE SHOWED FOR 20 MINUTES?

what if instead of killing people yotsubas met for mahjong every friday.
namikawa - he's good at shogi so how about another japanese game. good at bluffing and reading people's waits. he'll riichi a crap hand and force everyone to fold. somehow always gets multiple dealer repeats
higuchi - decent. he gets really tilted especially when his hand is good but hatori wins with tanyao nomi. hates folding. acts really annoying and condescending when he rons someone
takahashi - higuchi invites him so he isn't the worst. barely knows the rules so he keeps getting hit with chombo
shimura - good at defense, but folds too often. the only one to score a yakuman.
hatori - calls a lot, which annoys higuchi. his wins are usually cheap. once he opens his hand too much he can't defend so he often deals in
ooi - never opens his hand, usually wins big (mangan+)
kida - always plays to his outs even if it means sacrificing value. trusts suji too much and gets ronned by mido
mido - always chooses evil waits, so people will deal into him (suji, honors). often stays in damaten

Latest fanfics tag game
Tagged by @queer-omens-in-the-archives. Thanks for the tag!!
RULES: post the beginning lines of your most recent 10 published fanfics, then attempt to tag 10 people!
1. The Ones Who Care (aka Effie Trinket moral rollercoaster time) – Hunger Games series, implied Effie/Haymitch and Plutarch/Haymitch, missing scene
She just can’t help herself.
2. Furs and Feathers (aka top 10 worst ways to find out your mentor figure has a thing with the guy in charge of the annual children battle royale) – Hunger Games series, Plutarch/Haymitch, daemon!AU
She’s looking for Peeta or for some reprieve from the smothering attentions of the Capitol crowd – whichever she happens upon first – when she feels it.
3. Small Mercies (aka friendly reminder that therapy is not a substitute for drinking and sex with your morally dubious former cameraman) – Hunger Games series, Plutarch/Haymitch, technically canon compliant
To Haymitch Abernathy, being unpleasant is an art form.
4. Occam’s Razor (aka L said “gain the trust of” but Aiber’s Japanese was a little rusty and he heard “seduce”) – Death Note, Aiber/Kida, missing scene
Kida could smell the detective’s cologne, floral and entirely obtrusive, long before he saw him.
5. No Such Thing as Good Sportsmanship (aka Namido in their natural habitat) – Death Note, Mido/Namikawa, banter without plot
In Mido’s defence, he’d had every intention to indulge him.
6. Culling of the Fold (aka not even the only “Shimura murders Higuchi” fic I’ve ever written, believe it or not, only the first one to get posted) – Death Note, Mido/Shimura, canon divergence
Higuchi’s blood has seeped into the carpet by the time Mido and Namikawa show up.
7. Mutualism Department (aka my AkiTani friends with benefits manifesto) – Yakuza series, Akiyama/Tanimura, PWP
It was hardly a secret that Akiyama didn't have a good grasp on the balance between business and pleasure.
8. Koi and Karma (aka Nishiki-typical inferiority complex shenanigans but with a humorous spin, at least this once) – Yakuza series, Kiryu/Nishiki, humour
It's Friday night in Kamurocho, the pavement glows with the reflection of a thousand billboards, the air is alive with innumerable conversations, drunken guffaws, indecent proposals whispered from thresholds of neon-lit cabaret clubs all blending together into incomprehensible chatter, and Akira Nishikiyama is just about starting to believe in karma.
9. Niche (aka as a retired hitman, Lemon’s hobbies include: collecting Thomas the Tank Engine memorabilia, terrorising customers, kinkshaming) – Bullet Train (novel), Lemon/Tangerine, canon divergent future fic
The delivery clerk held up her digital clipboard with the same solemnity of a priestess peering at a sacred scroll as she began reciting the list, visibly sweating in her uniform under the sun of spring come early.
10. Self-preservation Strategies (aka the origins of Yotsuba Bank, I swear guys it’s true don’t look it up) – Death Note, Mido/Namikawa, canon divergent future fic
All the money and sophisticated décor in the world couldn't hide the smell of impending death, Mido realised as he stepped into the softly lit hospital room after lingering outside just long enough to gather his composure.
Tagging @bespectacled-bookwyrm @gaspardcaderousse, and uuuh idk who else has been actively posting fic lately, so I’m going with the trusted and true “whoever sees this and wants to do this too” lmao
