after few months studying for TOPIK (korean proficiency test) . not hardly. but few times just to realize the exam is gonna be hard, finally the exam day came. I think ive studied 2 days before exam more than I studied for a month combined. Last minute at its best. But ngl, i did study gradually everyday. if its not through textbook, i’ll study just by listening, and reading novels. or tweets.

anyway. today was the day.

I woke up early, studied a lil bit more, hoping the last minute vocabs i found helps. At 11, made dua, asked for my parent’ dua, my dad drop me off to the venue. I brought along my books thinking i can revise before the exam then I saw the long queue for exam registration. “ah theres no way i can read more, gotta find a good place”, went through the long queue handled badly by the committee, suddenly im already at my designated desk. lil did i know my study stopped at 11.

so many people than i thought

the exam was quite smooth than I thought. I think, for the little effort I put into the exam, honestly, its not bad. Its not hard but its not easy. The time is very limited. I think it was carefully set juuuust nice with the amount of questions. i dont have a second to rest!

“Ay Dios mío, we are going to fail.”

Camilo looks over your shoulder and frowns. “Is that my handwriting?” You nod. “Damn.” He flips through his notebook as well. “I’ve got... a few notes. But I don’t know which topics.” You ask for his notebook and flip through both of your notes, trying to piece the little tidbits of information scattered. “Do you think Mirabel has notes?” Camilo shrugs. “Probably a few. I’ll ask her tomorrow.”

“What do you mean tomorrow? We’re taking the quiz tomorrow, hello? Te volviste estúpido?” (Did you become stupid?) Camilo holds your hand. “Don’t worry, I know you’ll do well.” He looks around for a pen and some paper.

We could just cheat in the exam, amor ;)

“¡¿Has perdido la cabeza?!” (Have you lost your mind?!) Of course, you considered that as well, but only as a last resort. The teacher of the subject you and Camilo are studying for is a particularly strict person; the “no nonsense” kind. The class was obedient under their presence. “Crees demasiado bajo de mí, mi amor.,” (You think too low of me, my love.) Camilo chuckles, “I suggested it as a joke. Don’t worry.” He grabs a book from under his table. “I borrowed it from Mirabel.”

Camilo quickly shapeshifts into Mirabel and mimics her voice, “Remember, Cami. Don’t damage the book,” ‘Mirabel’ scoffs, “Stop laughing! I’m serious!”

A thud on the door. “I can hear you! I hope you fail tomorrow’s quiz!” Mirabel enters the room with a smile, “Not you, though, Y/N. Goodluck! I’m sure you’ll get a great score.” She walks towards you two and flips through the pages of her book. “I’ve highlighted what parts are going to appear on the quiz. If you need any help, Y/N,” Mirabel glares at Camilo, “I’ll be in the kitchen!”

“How are you going to study though?” Mirabel flaunts her bag, “I’ve got my notes here! I’ll be fine! Plus, I studied yesterday so I think I’m good. Worry about your boyfriend.” You look at Camilo, then Mirabel. “We’ll be fine! Thanks, Mirabel!”

The door closes and Camilo turns to you. “We could skip classes tomorrow. I do it all the time.”

“Camilo. You are on to something. We’ll study first.” You rewrite some of Mirabel’s notes onto a piece of paper.

“I could go ask people from other classes how the test was, and if a lot of them say it’s hard then we could just say we’re sick-”

Without looking up from the book, you reply, “The teacher knows you’re a Madrigal, he’ll just tell you to eat one of your Tia’s arepas that’s in the room. Isn’t Dolores hearing this?” You turn to Camilo and hand him the book. “We should quiz each other after reading.” Camilo yarns. “Boring!”

“For every correct answer, you get a kiss..?.”

Camilo shifts on the spot: you, then the teacher, then himself once again.

“Stop disturbing me! I need to study!”

“I wasn’t saying anything…” You laugh before going back to your notes.

“Alright… I think I’m done reading, amor!” You squint your eyes at him, “That was quick. I guess I’ll have to test you now.” Camilo stretches his arms. “This’ll be easy. It’s like hiding Mirabel’s glasses.”

“You what?”

Camilo winks at you. “Nothing! Ask away!”

You shrug and look through your notes. With that, you could ask Camilo around twenty questions. “Are you ready?” Camilo grins. “Bring it on.”

You ask Camilo the first question, he gets it correct.

“Where’s my kiss?”

“You’re dead to me.” You say as you plant a kiss on the back of his hand. “Next questio-”

“I want to ask you a question!” You aren’t sure where the sudden energy came from, but you reply. “Alright.”

“Okay, I have two questions: one, why not on the lips?” You try to answer, but are shushed by Camilo, the second question he gives you is a math equation.

“You may answer.”

You purse your lips. “Well, I wanted to save the kiss on the lips for the hardest question? And… we aren’t even studying math?”

Camilo pulls you to his side and the two of you are laying down on the bed. “Correct! Now we must take a well-deserved break!”

“But I haven’t even quizzed you? Plus, you looked quite excited for the ‘one correct answer, one kiss’ thing.” Camilo shrugs. “I am. But I feel like you deserve a break. Just close your eyes.” He kisses your cheek. You sigh at him, “Fine. You better remind me that we’re quizzing each other when we wake up.”

Camilo smiles without replying.

it's only been two days but i feel good about myself :)

morning work outs

breakfasts - which i dont usually do

early sleep time - 12mn as of current, last week for several days my sleep time was 4am... heh, progress, right? and today i woke up at 4am to study before class starts

light lunch or no lunch - thinking of this as an intermittent diet that's why i try to eat a healthy and heavy breakfast

break time nap time - usually our classes have a minimum of 10 minutes, so there's time for a nap !!

been making studying entertaining - this started when mama first gave me a bowl of popcorn while i do some readings and until now it makes things even better (or i just really like popcorn)

tea time - brought this back !! while i digest my dinner i've been drinking peppermint tea while studying before i go to bed

samsung alarm - i feel like everyone knows the difference of intensity a samsung alarm and an apple alarm has. calmer alarm = less panic in the morning

next week's already my finals and i feel it's important i feel good and a bit calm this week so as to not bring the stress and anxiety along with the standard set of negative energy that's already there during exams, haha

also, correct me if i'm wrong with the usage of the term, i find it funny how, as a coping mechanism to stress, i have been regressing - listening to disney songs and as of today, started to rewatch children shows like backyardigans and little einsteins. deadlines have been the major cause of my stress this week because we have a minor subject that gave 20+ activities and I just want things to get done real quick because I want to focus on studying for my majors

Hello sweatie pie☺️ I present to you, my top 4 study tips tehehe

Know what time your brain is active and study during that time. Some people study early in the morning while others prefer studying late at night. Find out what’s best for you and study at that time. As much as I love sleeping early, I prefer studying at 8pm until 12 midnight. My brain picks up info really fast during these hours. This is my number 1 study tip :>

Try not to cram, please. I tend to do this a lot but I’ve been managing my time really well and polishing my study habits rn✊🏻 Try to study a week before exams so that your brain can really digest what you’ve read.

Repeat after me, repetition is the key. Review while you can, whenever and wherever you can. When you look inside our bathroom, you can still see traces of tape behind the door. I like sticking my reviewer on the door so that when I shower, I can discuss it to mysef. It works for me. It doesn’t really need to be an hour of pure studying, just read through your study material to help you retain information.

Take a break and reward yourself. Know when to rest. Your mental help is much more imporatant büb. Always remember that! Try to take in between breaks during study session. Don’t overwork yourself, please. Also, look for a reward system that works for you. It can be watching 1 episode of your fave series after studying for 2 subjects or pampering yourself after a day of studying.

Just focus on your lane sweetie. Try not to compare your way of studying with other people. This will only bring you pressure :(( Be kind to yourself and always bear in mind that you’re doing this for your future.

ROOM 409

It all started last april 7, 2017 at 6 am. I was nervous but excited at the same time. Nervousenss was brought up to my spine due to the next 80 hours being away from my family and being independent as practice for my college life. And excited because i would be experiencing a new opportunity.

Travel time was approximately 2 hours but the views and sights were astonishingly beautiful as ever. Those valleys and hills as well as the taal volcano took my breath away. I wasn’t able to take pictures because my camera is not in good terms. The lens was scratched from the impact brought in the entire gadget when it fell weeks ago.

Arriving a the venue and stepping out of the car, the cool tagaytay breeze embraced me. Walking up the stairs was thrilling. Being a newbie, i dont know what to do. I was one of the few people that didn’t bring suitcases which made me feel like an outcast. I was asked to submit my barcode then got my ID and SHIRT. By the way, our shirt was lime-green which is obviously not a match on my skin-tone. After being registered, we went outside to get our bags or gym-bags to be exact.

Once inside the venue, i went stright to our room. Walking on the corridors, i have no one to talk to so i began by observing mannerism. I tend to observe people around me whenever i have nothing to do. ‘One of them can be my roommate’ that thought hit me when i saw people near the assigned room. Then time came when the room was opend. Shocked to see 18 bunks in one room. There were 6 beds and all are triple deck. It was actually a big space. After placing my things, i decided to observe shits again. 2 of us from the same school, 1 from CA, 4 from LS and 11 from SPC. Then 2 more from SPC transfered in our room bec they were separated then the people fom CA and LS went out maybe because it was too noisy to handle. ‘I MADE FRIENDS VIA CARDS’ thas what i tweeted. Why? Our first conversation from the people from SPC were about cards. They invited me to play with them. I learned a lot of ew games btw.

The clock was at 9 and Session 1 came. 2 hours of listening to Circles and its properties made me feel sleppy. After the first sesion was lunch which led us to being members of ‘theloner table’ these table were the ones at the corners which prevent ‘loners’ from socializing. After eating, 1 hour was still left for us to relax and be comfortable. Then i realized, i attended the wrong class. We were then scolded which scared me so much. Being myself at school, i wasn’t scolded that much so it was a new feeling. Then session 2 came, i was at my original class and being punctual, i went in 15 mins before the schedule. Our classes would start at 1 pm up until 7 :15 pm with a fifteen-minute- brak between the 3rd and 4th session. IT WAS MIND BLOWING. Literally. It feels like i was overdosed with mathematics. My head aches and it was dizzy all of a sudden. Dinner came fast and study hour was up and slepping time at 9. Our room mates from SPC were really friendly and aproachable. Learning their names, NOT EASY. Their nicnames were: BURGER, FIRE, ANDREA, REGINA, IRENE, the twins BEA AND BIANCA, STEPH, ERIKA, JASMINE, SHAE, THERESA and CARISSA. The twins were absolutely adorable.

Day 2 was absolute HORROR. We had a quiz on about 7 am. It was a pain in the head. Then same schedule until 7 pm. We were having classes on plane geometry with sir kerish then an earthquake occured. TWICE. At first I thoughtmy seatmate was just erasing her answer but i was wrong. It was really an earthquake. We were told to go outside the building due to the natural phenomenon. Our fifteen minute break was taken away from us. Dinner came and I have a head ache again and unable to focus, i did not notice that they were serving me already.

Third day was exam day or more likely HELL DAY. Quiz 2, final exam part 1, final exam part 2 and contest questions. My mind was literally about to explode. We studied at 11 pm until 1 am. The twins studied until 2. After the exam was over, it was dinner time then awarding ceremony. The ceremony was conducted faster than common ceremonies. I seriously did not expect that i would be awarded with a medal. It was my first time to experiance this kind of lecture-contest thing. Then, Challengers were being called batch by batch. My heart jumped and i was shocked when my school and name was called. I was really happy. I never thought i would be above average. I literally thought i was at the bottom. My roommates from SPC were shocked and they also congratulated me.

The night came and we played cards: speed, pusoy dos, tongits, uno, heart attack and egyptian hammer. We also played never have i ever, paranoia and truth or dare. We oredered yellowcab pizza and soa for dinks. It was indeed a fun night. I slept at 1 am. Others slept at 3 and 3 of them did not sleep at all.

Morning cameand it was time to say goodbye. It was indeed a fun and memorabl experience. I made new friends, i was able to learn and enjoy at the same time. Matehmatics has indeed opened new doors for me. New opportunities and first time experiences. It was all a blast. We were all friends now espcially in social networking sites. i hope that the short time we spent together would not be forgotten and cherished until te end.

NMAT season! REGISTER NOW!

Hi! So, many of you may know that IT IS, once again, THE NMAT SEASON! I mean, you can register right now (July 30 - September 14, 2018). So, if you are planning to take the exam, it is better to register right now before you forget (because I almost did last year).  You can register in this link.

The exams here in the Philippines is on October 21, 2018. When you registered, you will be able to pick where you can take your exams: Baguio City, Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Davao City, Iloilo City, Manila, and Zamboanga City. I am not sure where it will be held per city but, in Manila, it will probably take place in University of Santo Tomas or UST. So, in the website, you can see (and/or download) the NMAT Bulletin of Information (BOI) that has the policies and procedure guide to NMAT. It has: Eligibility and registration requirements; Payment and refund of NMAT fees; Test day instructions; Prohibited items and behavior on test day; and Terms and conditions for taking the NMAT, so make sure to read it to be properly guided.

More so, you can either get the results via postal mail or you can pick it up personally in the CEM office.

Next, you will also answer different questions that will show your opinion on different situations. As far as I can remember, you will choose on where you prefer to work --- on its location or if you would want to work in a public hospital or a private one.

Today I literally did nothing, I woke up at 10 and sat in bed till 1, got up took a shower just to meet my bro to go smoke... Smoked went back to my friends dorm till I had class at 3 then watched rick & morty instead of paying attention in that class.

I need to get my shit together.. I smoked twice & completed zero productive assignments. Today I hope to at least gather my thoughts, to at least come up with a plan to achieve my goals... I wanna get healthier & I attempted to to go the gym but I really didn't wanna go alone. 

I searched for hours on different tattoos going through Pinterest figuring out what certain tattoos would mean & where I might want to get them. Forearm & start my sleeve or get something cute on my leg, around my calf area. 

Hopefully tomorrow will bring productivity. My first exam for psych is due tomorrow & my philosophy paper is due Thursday so I have a lot to do & I know I can get it done if I sit down & work to complete them both.

Unable to control my smile, i hid my face away so he won’t see it. It was still a cover. If ever he asked why we took a picture together, we would say its just for fun so that it was a pairing dare.
