PSA for my fellow artists
Please be aware of a paypal scam going around right now!
Tonight I received messages from a "commissioner" asking me to draw a picture of her and her son. She offered me a large amount of money for my work, which leads me to my first point:
Always ask for payment upfront from new customers!
Doing so protected me from losing time (and potentially a lot of money) working on a piece for a scammer.
She claimed she was willing to pay extra for the work to be "finished as soon as possible". In hindsight, this is one of many common ways scammers create a false sense of urgency so you don't have time to think critically about what they're asking.
Secondly, she asked for the email used for my paypal. She claimed it was for sending payment, but this was actually a method for sending a scam email later, claiming that there was an issue with her payment requiring me to "refund" her $200. This is when I was able to confirm that it was a scam, stopped, and reported the email and the tumblr account. Had I not blocked her she likely would have continued to insist that she'd made a payment or possibly even threatened to take action against me if I didn't refund her money I never received, again, another common way scammers create a false sense of urgency and panic.
But other artists may not be so lucky, or know how to recognize these kinds of phishing schemes, so I thought making this post could be helpful!
Warning signs:
1. She asked for my pricing information and email through DMs, rather than reading my pinned post or using my carrd when directed to, things a legitimate customer would know to do.
2. The email was from "service paypal" (instead of just "paypal") and was in my spam folder.
3. The email used an impersonal greeting. All official paypal emails will begin by addressing you by name. It also contained a handful of grammatical errors that might be missed at first glance, especially if the scammer has successfully created a sense of panic.
4. The email claimed that due to the large size of the payment, the transaction could not be completed until an additional $200 payment was made from the customer that should be "refunded" to them once "made". This is blatantly untrue and an extremely unprofessional/sketchy practice a legitimate business like paypal would never use.
In my case, it claimed that it was part of the process of creating a business account- business accounts are free to create, however, and I already have a store page.
5. Most importantly: I never received any payments or notifications through paypal's official app or website.
Scammers will send you fake screenshots of their payments to attempt to convince you that they've spent or lost money and that it's your responsibility to help them get it back. Don't believe it. They're just trying to get you to "compensate" them for an issue that never occurred, by any means necessary. If there was any genuine issue with their payment, they could work with paypal or contact their bank to cancel the transaction or refund them. If you never recieved any payment, you don't owe them anything. It's not your job to "refund" them.
If you encounter a scam like this, block, report, and change your paypal password for good measure.
I got lucky, I didn't lose any money or get scammed, I only wasted a few minutes talking to her before I recognized it for what it was and stopped interacting. Sometimes, however, even if you recognize that something is a scam, just opening the email and viewing any attachments may potentially compromise your information. Never click any links in an email like this.
Below are screenshots of the email I recieved, which I'll be sharing for awareness purposes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd also like to include this page from Paypal's website about the common signs of a phishing scheme:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take care out there and look out for eachother! Please continue to spread awareness about these kinds of scams when you see them so your favorite artists can stay safe and informed.
I'll be updating some of my commission guidelines later to account for situations like this in the future.
Thank you for reading!

Emergency fundraising! (I got scammed)
This is gonna be a long post, so if you don't wanna read all of it, here's the summary:
I fell for a bank scam call while grieving the loss of my grandma and the election results. Now I owe PayPal 900 dollars and have no means of paying it.
I hate asking for money, but if anyone could please contribute with absolutely anything, I'd be endlessly grateful. We're in a rough financial spot at the moment, so this is our only option.
Any donations can be sent to
https://ko-fi.com/pastalbird
About 2 weeks ago, right before those harrowing election results, my grandma passed. With all that was going on, on top of my full time job and other life responsibilities and struggles, I was pretty rattled.
It was then I got a call "from the bank".
They were friendly and familiar, and asked me questions that sounded official, claiming my credit card info had been stolen, and making me go through different steps to resolve the issue.
(Looking back, it's frustrating how obviously scammy this was, but at the time I was under so much stress I truly didn't notice. Or rather I did, but dismissed it as paranoia.)
They had me try and send money through Zelle, where there was a request for 900usd. Since it didn't go through, they tried through PayPal, which also failed. They then told me to not use the account for 24 hours so they would try again the next day.
(Again, I know there were burning red flags, but unfortunately I didn't fully process it until it was too late.)
It got even more ridiculous, as they called the next day, asking me to redo all the steps and even demanding I go to an ATM.
I said I couldn't. They claimed my debit was "infiltrated" and that I had to mail them my card.
It was at this point I told my mom about all this, hung up, called the bank, froze my account, removed the account from PayPal, and changed my password.
I thought that would be the end of it... Until the next day, when I checked my PayPal and found my balance to be -900usd, meaning the failed transaction went through after all.
Another one for 800 was also pending, but luckily I managed to cancel it in time.
Immediately, I reported the transaction as a scam. However, PayPal said they couldn't return my money since "the transaction had been approved" and that "no unusual activity had been detected". I have called my bank once more, but they say it's out of their hands entirely.
We are in the middle of a move, my husband is coming to visit later this week.
We were already very tight for money, since my husband's boss was sick for half the year, meaning he got no work before July. And just last month we had to pay 2000 in lawyer fees for an unrelated issue, so timing could absolutely not be worse.
We do not have the financial means to cover this debt. I really don't know what we'll do now. Normally, I absolutely hate asking for money, but if anyone could spare anything, it would be more than welcome. We'd be immensely grateful.

Here’s what happened to me. I got a robocall yesterday claiming it was from Paypal. It was an alert warning me that someone was attempting to change my password. If it helps the number was (888)401-5203.
The automated voice said that someone was trying to change my password and IF IT WAS NOT ME, I should push #1 on my phone now. When I did I got another screen that had six empty boxes on it and was told I was being sent a 6 digit  number through a text and that I should enter those numbers in the boxes to stop it.
New PayPal scam going around, from a group of scammers who trick people into entering 2FA codes into the PayPal portal, handing control of your account over to them.
It's easy to avoid this kind of scam: IGNORE THE CALL
Do not do what the automated voice says, no matter how scary the situation sounds. Instead, hang up. Block/report the call as spam.
If you're still worried, fire up your app or computer and visit PayPal yourself, using your own login. Check your account settings THAT way. And possibly, change your password.
Bottom line: banks & PayPal will never call you this way to conduct important business. They will always encourage you to login to their websites directly OR call the 1-800 number on the site or back of the card.

BEWARE
(Original Link) (This post is a copy & paste of the original)
PLEASE READ! THIS SCAM IS VERY DANGEROUS AND MAY BE VERY CONVINCING TO SOME!
The scam will open with someone either from your friends list or from a server you share DMing you. They will send a message saying they accidentally reported your discord account for something really bad and if you don’t file an appeal, both your account and IP address will be permanently banned from discord. They will say how sorry they are and include a screenshot of a discord email that states this offense, a ticket number, and instructions on how to file an appeal. The email screenshot will look real and even has the official discord support email as the sender. However it is faked.
The person who was hacked will then ask you to reach out to the ‘discord support member’ mentioned in the email, encouraging you that they’re doing the same and if you act fast, you can save your account.
The ‘support member’ I was directed to went by the name of Chao Chen. This same scammer may be the one speaking to everyone who falls for this, or it may be someone different, but either way, be wary. They will have a profile on discord that claims they’re a discord support team member seeking to rid discord of scammers (the irony)
They will also send a transcript that contains some of your account details, to make you think the scam is real.
The scammer will ask for basic information like your age, date of birth, and other questions seemingly related to your account identity. They will send you an official-looking card affiliated with discord that shows their specialty and position in the company. They will also request your discord ID number and then request you to temporarily change the email associated with your account to a burner email for “screening.” I made the mistake of letting my anxiety best me and agreed to this, but this step is how they steal your discord account. Once you have changed the email, you require a code sent to that email to change it, meaning you are now locked in to the scam email.
After this step, your account will be stolen and near the end of the scam or once you find out something is wrong, they will change the email, kicking you out. I tried to log back in using that email and my password but to no avail; they will change the email as soon as they can so you can no longer log back in.
If you haven’t figured out til now that this is very suspicious and is likely a scam (sadly I did not) they will next ask you to complete a “federal security check” and request you send them a small sum using your bank, PayPal, or card. They assure that the money will be returned in accordance with policy, but this is a lie. This was the point I finally got some sense and realized I was being scammed, and blocked the fake support member before I had my money taken. They then kicked me from my account and are now using it to spread the scam to others.
The scammer will also say small things to sway you into believing their lie. Threats like they have higher-ups monitoring the situation and telling you to “be careful and follow the instructions exactly”, official-looking documents, transcripts, etc, and acting like above all else they wish to help you get your account back.
The friend/server member who initially sends the scam will have already fallen prey to it, so block their account and be sure to warn any mutual friends/servers you share.
TL;DR; THIS DISCORD SCAM WILL STEAL BOTH YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOUR MONEY! BE WARY.
If your account was hacked, please reach out to Discord Support immediately. I will update on wether or not I get my account back and what they did to help, as of right now I am still awaiting a response.
Stay safe and please share this information where you can

As it has been days since I have heard an actual response from a ‘human’ at Twitch, I will make it public on what happened.
On Thursday night, January 16th, around 8:30 PM EST, I was doxxed live on stream.
A new user entered my chat, making their username my street address, and announcing my legal name, full address, and phone number to everyone that was on my stream. My moderator quickly deleted the messages, but before we could block or ban the user, they immediately followed me, as they knew that information would stay on my chat no matter what.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition, they attempted to sign into my PayPal account multiple times. I saw all the attempts on my phone, as I require any sign in to send me a code to ensure it is me. They seemed to realize that after a few minutes and stopped. I froze for a few minutes, then I ended my stream, took down the VOD, but I still have the recording on me for evidence. I have changed all my passwords.
Unfortunately, I am unable to hide my private information on PayPal. Even when making a business account, it did not give me the option to.
Tumblr media
The moderator that was there that night reported this individual as soon as they realized this was my private information. They got a default response saying the report would be addressed soon. Roughly an hour after stream ended, they received a message saying action had been taken. They did not say how or in what way.
Tumblr media
I was shell shocked when this happened, but when I recovered a bit, I reported the account in the morning. I made a ticket through their contact page, as I was unaware of how to report an account. I got a default response saying they would address my situation. An hour later, they responded, saying I was not addressing this the traditional way and told me to report them as I should have. They ignored the fact they doxxed me. I got a default response when I reported the traditional way they asked for immediately, and I have not heard anything since then. I am surprised there was no more detail about the actions they took, as the severity of doxxing doesn't feel like it was taken as seriously as it should. Their phrasing gives way to the smallest punishment being possibly just an account removal, as opposed to something permanent like the IP ban they mentioned being possible in the email, or legal action being taken through Twitch.
Tumblr media
I am unable to contact my local authorities regarding this issue. This is due to my location. Where I live, there would be no chance of a case standing in court. The police closest to my area are only volunteers, we have no actual authority. Even if I discussed this with another town nearby, it would be dismissed and I would be told sorry, and that be it. This is due to the police in my area not willing to investigate situations like this. And, as much as I hate to say it, it also does not help that I am a woman. Female cases get dismissed quickly where I live.
The best I can do is contact Twitch regarding this case. They only told me to report them, as submitting a ticket through their contact page was ‘not sent the proper way.’ Ever since I submitted again, all I received was an automatic response on that same day. For all I know, this user could make another account and submit the same information. They didn’t tell me nor my moderator if anything will actually be done to stop this from happening again.
Now comes the question as to why this happened. I have no idea, as I am not able to get any answers. I don’t even know if I will without Twitch’s help. I do not know of anyone specific that would want to do this. Currently, however, there is one suspicion I have. I signed up for the TikTok replacement, RedNote, on Tuesday January 14th, that same week. When I was filling out my bio via my profile, I was forced to show the state I lived in. There was an option to make this private; however, even when switching it to private, it still showed it publicly. In addition, there are one of two ways to sign up for the app: entering your phone number and logging in via your store account (i.e.: Apple or Google Play). I did not want to put any card information on, so I went with my phone. I never posted anything on this account, I made this ahead of time in case the TikTok ban took effect. This, combined with my state being shown, feels like it was enough to hone in on where I am.
I want to stress, this may not be it. I could be completely wrong. I hope I am wrong. I saw how nice the community was in welcoming ‘TikTok refugees’ and what type of conversations everyone was having. However, I don’t want to rule out this could have been the reasoning behind my doxxing. Just because everything seems nice to everyone does not mean there won’t be any bad actors in that crowd.
Until I get some kind of response, I am in the dark. There have not been any other signs of this person emerging again, but if anyone sees a message formatted like above, please let me know.
And now is the most important part. I don’t want anyone else to get doxxed. It does not matter how big or small you are, you can get doxxed on your livestream like I did. I was reminded about blocked terms after the incident. For the love of god, please add your address and your phone number. If your legal name is uncommon, include it. Do all sorts of variations of all this information. Do your I/P address as well, just in case. Make all of these terms private. This means not even your mods can see this, it will only be you.
Always ensure, as well, you have a trusted moderator in your chat. I am lucky that I had one moderator in my chat that night that deleted the messages as soon as possible as well as flooded chat so it would get hidden on my side and cleared chat once I ended stream.
Please get this out there. @ Twitch on this. I want this situation to be solved, and I want to feel safe, even if this really was just a one time thing. But being pushed to the side like this makes me terrified for my life. I cannot tell the authorities and I cannot even afford to move, let alone my family. All I can do is pray to whatever god that nothing happens to me nor my family. Please let this be known.

So you wanna sell your art on Redbubble but you don't know how?
(Or, I meant to write this months ago but better late than never lol)
OKAY okay. I have a bunch of friends as well as mutuals who have lovely lovely art and have considered selling it online (specifically on Redbubble lol that's what's being covered today anyways) but don't really have any clue how RB works, if it's right for them, or what to expect. SO I'M HERE TO GUIDE Y'ALL THROUGH ALL THE BASICS and hopefully, if I've done my job right, this tutorial will help you set up your RB shop and start selling your art online (or help you decide that RB isn't for you lol).
Table of Contents:
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
How to make your account and set up payment
How to add a new work
Pricing? Markup?
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
What the heck is RedBubble and should I use it?
>> RedBubble is a site that allows you to upload your artwork and sell it on quite a variety of different products.
>> The main benefit of using RedBubble, aside from reach and visibility, is that RB handles *everything* when it comes to the manufacturing and shipment of your product. You are literally not responsible for anything other than making the art, uploading it, and deciding how you want it to look on different products. If there is any kind of problem with material quality or delivery (though in my experience they're pretty good with both of those things), it's not your responsibility to correct!
>> RedBubble does not charge you to sell on their site, but they do set a base price for all products to cover manufacturing and to ensure that they make some level of profit for each sale. We'll look into the specifics of this in a later section when discussing pricing and markup, but it would be considered pretty standard, for example, for an item to cost $20 and you to make $4-$5 upon making a sale.
>> At the end of the day, whether or not RB is right for you largely depends on whether or not you feel their pricing and payment is fair, and whether their available products correspond to what you wish to sell.
Okay, so how do I get started?
Well first you're gonna need an account!
>> Head over to the RedBubble main page and click "Sign Up"
Tumblr media
>> Select "Artist Signup"
Tumblr media
>> Fill in your email, shop name (this is your username also), and password
>> Click "Sign Up"
>> You will be brought to this dashboard page:
Tumblr media
>> We will discuss creating products in the next section. Everything under "Set Up Shop" is optional and I'll let you explore that on your own so we can focus on the essentials. That just leaves... Getting paid!
>> First, check the email you used to confirm your email address. If you didn't receive an email to confirm your email address, don't worry, we can resend the form- keep going with the steps for now.
>> Then, under "Get Paid", click "Add your name & address". Note that all of the options in the "Get Paid" section actually lead to the same form, but selecting this option starts us near the top.
>> Fill out all the fields on this page. If you didn't receive the email to confirm your email address, click on this button:
Tumblr media
Then check your email again.
>> Note when choosing your payment method: if you are from Canada, like me, then paypal is your only option. Same for parts of Europe that aren't in the UK. Otherwise, you also have bank transfer options:
Tumblr media
>> Once you've finished filling in everything on this page, click "Save Changes" at the bottom and... That's it! Now you can get paid :)
**Note: I believe RB still requires you to make a minimum amount of money before they do a transfer (for me in Canada I believe it's $20 CAD?), so do keep that in mind!
>> Payments are made to your account monthly, generally on the same day every month (assuming you've made profits!).
How to add a new work
So you've made your account, fantastic. Now you're ready to actually add your works to RB and make them available for purchase to the wider public! To demonstrate the process, we're gonna use our pal Nicky here (who was a gift from my lovely friend @llumimoon) and pretend that we want to upload him:
Tumblr media
Ain't he a doll? Anyways, let's begin.
>> Hover your mouse over your pfp in the top right corner to make this drop down menu appear:
Tumblr media
>> Click on "Add New Work"
**On a new account with nothing uploaded, this will look a bit different. instead choose "Sell Your Art" from this dropdown menu, then "Add New Work" from the top right corner of the same dashboard page from earlier.
>> Click on "Upload New Work" (and note the file type and resolution requirements at the bottom. I always stick with PNGs, but in theory JPEG or GIF works as well.)
Tumblr media
>> Select the file of the image you want to upload. In our case, that's Nicky.
>> Now write a title for your work, tags, and a description if you want. The tagging system is how people will actually find your work, it works a lot like Tumblr's! Try to choose things that are relevant to whatever your piece is. If you're uploading fandom-related art and aren't sure what tags are used for your fandom on RB, try looking some up and seeing what generates the most relevant results!
Tumblr media
>> You may have noticed the "background color" section right below Nicky. This sets the default background color for your piece on different products. We're gonna keep this as the default white here, and I'll show you how to adjust this for individual products very soon.
>> Scroll down. This is where we decide what products we want this design to be available on and how we want Nicky to look on each thing we've enabled.
For example, if I were actually selling Nicky here (if that wasn't clear obviously I'm not actually selling my friend's art lol don't do that ofc) I would definitely want people to be able to buy him as a little sticker :]
Tumblr media
>> In this case, "Stickers & Magnets" have been enabled by default. If you wanted to disable them, you would simply click that little "Enabled" button. Similarly, if we want to enable a product type that is disabled, just click that same button (which will be grey rather than green and say "disabled").
>> If a product is disabled and you are being prevented from enabling it, that's because the dimensions of your image are too small for the product in question! You'll wanna resize your image (preferably in a manner that retains its resolution of course) and come back.
>> Hm. Let's use the hats here as an example of how we might make edits to the layout of a specific product.
Tumblr media
He's kind of cut off, as you can see actually that's pretty in-character, and I think I want this hat to be pink rather than this default beige-looking color.
>> Click on "Edit"
Tumblr media
So, the first thing I'm gonna do here is use that "Scale Image" slider to scale him down a bit. I'm also gonna click the image and drag him up a bit to re-center him.
Tumblr media
Next, I'm gonna pick from one of the default colors and choose the pink one.
Tumblr media
>> Notice the two arrows beside the words "Bucket Hat"? This lets me go through the different types of hats available and change the background/base color for each of those, like the dad hat:
Tumblr media
>> Before we apply our changes, click that little gear icon right under the pencil icon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
>> This lets us adjust the markup price for each individual hat. It is 20% by default. Changing the markup percentage affects how much you will make off of a sale, as well as how much your product will cost. More on that in the next section!
>> Click "Apply Changes"
Tumblr media
The "dad hat" was the last hat I had selected (when setting its color), so the display has changed to show that one in the preview. Here's our bucket hat from before:
Tumblr media
Nice!
>> The specifics of how you can adjust your design will vary depending on the product. With pillows & totes, for example, the editing menu looks like this:
Tumblr media
Using the "Choose pattern" option, I can make the Nicky image repeat as a pattern like so:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note that I also scaled the image down a bit here too).
>> One last thing. See that "Replace Image" button near the top?
Tumblr media
You can use this when you want to use a different version of your image altogether for a specific product.
>> That's the gist! Play around with the settings for each item as you see fit. You can always edit them again later.
>> Scroll down. Select up to 2 relevant media types.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure this affects search results when users choose specific filters, but tbh otherwise I don't think it's all too important.
>> Let's look at what remains.
Tumblr media
>> I have the "Who can view this work?" section set to "Only You"- THIS IS SO I CAN FINISH THE STEPS HERE AND SAVE THE WORK WITHOUT ACTUALLY MAKING IT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. In practice, you'd only use this option if you wanted to buy your own work on something but didn't want other people to be able to see or buy it. Otherwise, you're always gonna choose "Anybody (public)".
>> Collections can be created to organize the pieces in your shop (for example, by fandom), but we won't cover the specifics of how to do that here.
>> Set whether or not your work contains "mature content".
>> If you want, you can set which product shows up in the preview for your work when people view your shop. If you think your piece looks especially nice on a mug, for example, you can make sure that's what people see first.
Tumblr media
>> Finally, agree to RedBubble's User Agreement (read that little blurble, since that's basically all you generally need to care about when it comes to what you can and can't sell on RB, but more on that later).
Tumblr media
>> Click "Save Work" and voila! Your piece is now available in your shop, and can be found in the search results of whatever tags you left on it (this may take a few minutes to take effect).
>> If you want to check out your design in your shop, navigate to your pfp and click "View shop"
Tumblr media
>> Don't fret if the design doesn't appear in your shop right away! Again, this can take several minutes.
>> To edit your design again (and to view/purchase privately uploaded designs like Nicky here), click the "Manage Portfolio" option instead:
Tumblr media
>> Here is Nicky as he appears in my portfolio (again, your portfolio and your shop are different things- Nicky will not appear in my shop at all because he is set to "private")
Tumblr media
>> You can click that little gear icon to do a variety of things, like return to the editing menu from earlier. The three icons below Nicky refer to the amount of comments, sales, and likes your design has received in total.
>> Click on your design either from your shop page or your portfolio page. Wow! Your cool art is now available on all the products you enabled. Be sure to look through them and make sure that everything is to your liking!
Pricing? Markup? What's that about?
Well good tumblr user, RB handles everything regarding the production (and shipping) of your product, which means that they set a base (minimum) price for every kind of product to account for materials and production, and of course make some amount of profit themselves. The *markup* is a percentage that you the artist set (see the previous section on how to do so), and will determine how much you actually make off of a sale. Note that increasing the markup price means that your product will increase in price as well!
>> An Example (using hypothetical but more or less realistic numbers):
Let's say that the base price (0% markup, i.e. no profit for you) of a phone case on RB is $15. You set the markup to 30%. 30% of 15 is 4.5, so the public price is increased to $19.5, and if anyone purchases this phone case with your design on it, you will make $4.5.
And that's really the gist! Ultimately the markup price is up to you and what you feel is reasonable, though RB sets it to 20% by default.
Extra: Checking sales and payment history
Eheh, unfortunately I've reached the image limit for this post but:
To check your sales:
>> Click on your pfp
>> Click "Account Settings"
>> Under "Artist Tools" (on the left side), click "Sales History"
To check your payment history:
>> From the same "Artist Tools" menu (see above), click "Payment History"
Extra: Taxes and copyright, in case that scares you.
>> Do I need to report the income I make on RB when I do my taxes?
Yup! But dw, it isn't anything special. I mean, I'm not here to do your taxes for you, but money you make on Redbubble counts as "Self-Employment Income", same as if you sold your art just about anywhere else really!
>> So what am I actually allowed to sell on Redbubble? Is fanart okay?
Generally speaking... Yes! Obviously work should be your own, and it should not contain any company logos or names that you don't have the right to, nor photos of actual people unless you have their explicit permission.
>> Hm, okay, but what if I *do* accidentally sell something that isn't allowed?
In most cases, it'll just get taken down 👍. And no, you won't be asked to pay back any profits you made off the work in the meantime.
**A more extreme case: Story time. So, years ago a friend of mine uploaded some official Rick and Morty art that he forgot to set to "private". Overnight he made... Let's just say he made quite a bit of money. RB responded by taking down the work and banning his IP address, effectively preventing him from ever selling on the site again. But they still let him keep the money he made, and he didn't get into any actual trouble outside of that. What I'm saying is, even if you really fuck up, it'll be alright. And again, this was a pretty extreme scenario.
***Note: if your work falls under one of the brands in Redbubble's "Partner Program" (see the next section), it will be temporarily removed from the search results and your shop while it undergoes review. So don't panic if you see your fanart suddenly disappear from your shop!
Extra: The Partner Program (or how to make "officially licensed" fanart)
Very briefly, Redbubble has their partner program, which I won't explain in full detail here, but basically it means that if you upload a work and tag it as one of these brands, it will be inspected for review and, upon passing that brand's guidelines, will be considered "officially licensed" merch for that brand. Just felt worth mentioning!
So that's really the gist folks! There's certainly much more to play around with when it comes to RB, but that's all you need to know to get started! Hopefully this was useful? Hopefully lol. In any case, good luck out there!

So I set up my new stuff on Etsy hoping I'll have better luck there and biting the bullet on listing fees, and already I've had 2 scammers in my inbox that start off making it sound like I just got a sale.
Tumblr media
This is just 1 since I didn't think to screenshot the other before I marked it as spam, but that's just downright cruel. Taking advantage of someone who you can see hasn't made any sales, especially right now, takes a special kind of evil.
Although this goes without saying, just in case this is a PSA to others that sell on Etsy, do not follow any link or type any URL's that they ask you to.
Taking this opportunity to point this out (I didn't pick up on these parts before until I saw a video on TokTok) notice how they ask me to type in COM and not .com? It's usually small things like this that trick people into trusting it, because it look similar enough to be legitimate that some people (myself included at one time) won't think twice about it. Likely, this link would lead to somebody hacking into your device or account to steal information such as credit card and banking info that you might have attached or saved. The scary thing is, you may not even know you have one right away.
This also applies to other phishing scams, mainly pertaining to PayPal (I've gotten these emails many times). They (the hacker and not PayPal) send you a message that looks just plausible enough to trick somebody into thinking you just made a purchase, won't give any form of specification, and will have an attached PDF "receipt" that they ask you to click on. This usually tricks people into doing so because you think, "Hey, I didn't make any purchases with PayPal, what was ordered?" you click on it then BAM they can get into your system. I unfortunately did this myself once and my phone slowly stopped working over the course of a year, I started getting a lot of texts trying to get me to follow suspicious links, calls from the "FBI" and "IRS", and I had to change the passwords to all my accounts because the person even tried hacking into my actual PayPal account. My phone would get absurdly hot, and the full battery would last 4 hours at best.
Never click on a PDF document from any sketchy emails, because a virus can and will infect your device (computers and phones) by hiding malicious code in it. These forms of attack are usually in the form of spyware to track what you do on that device and collect your private information so the hacker can commit fraud or identity theft. It could also download ransomware and lock you out of your device unless you pay them, and also threaten to leak private information (some of which being outing someone LGBT+, leaking nudes, and doxing) to scare you into giving them what they want.
There's a way you can always tell if it's a scammer, and that's by checking the actual email. PayPal emails are always going to be one of these two: [email protected] or [email protected]. If you cant remember making a payment and get an email from one of these, it can still be a scammer that can change 1 or 2 letters subtly. For example: [email protected], [email protected]. If you have any suspicions, just go straight to your PayPal account and check for any bills/receipts there. If you don't seen anything, it's best to report those emails to PayPal directly so they can either verify it as one of theirs (it won't be if it differs at all from the two I showed) and work towards flagging and taking it down for others later down the line who may be tricked.
Anyways, this has just been a PSA since something good can come from the asshole who sent me this message. Hope this can help at least 1 person.

So apparently, after I had contacted my bank to take my mother out of my bank account, change pins, passwords and such, she still had access to it for the last 2 full years since I ran from home, including when I visited my hometown, where did I eat there, where did I stay, etc. And she's been stalking everything.
I found out about this today, and I'm honestly fucking freaking out. For the record, I ran from home 2 years ago, with my mother attempting to stab me (and hitting me against a wall repeatedly) when I did so.
Anyways, I will need to do some paperwork and shit to get the fuck out of this bank after they showed how unsecure they are.
Here's my Kofi in case you wanna help. At least she can't access my PayPal I guess :'')

Hey guys! I have an announcement to make! Commissions are fucking back yeah!!!!
BUT
They now cost money (yes, im now giving it a shot), but because im kind and im still a minor, it wont cost too much,
Here are the prices:
Headshot/half-body (backgroundless): 5$ (USD)
Headshot/half-body (with Background): 8$
Fullbody (backgroundless): 10$
Fullbody (with background): 13$
Pay with Paypal!
Please note that also i have limitations despite being a pretty fast worker,
Here’s a list of things you should know before commissioning:
1. Theres things i draw the best, things i draw averagely, and things i suck at drawing, i’ll list the things i can draw and things i can’t
2. Please note that im still under 18, so i wont draw NSFWs stuff, don’t even try to request it, and please be patient with me :)
3. Speaking of my age, im still in the middle of high school and i still have to learn English, which means that my English may not be the best and i might have troubles understanding what you mean, in case that happens, don’t be afraid to tell me that i did something not the way you wanted, I’ll gladly do it again for free (for the first time of requesting me to do it again, if you request me to re-draw it more than once i will start to suspect and i will not do it twice for free), just put more details please
4. I still have a life outside of my tumblr, so it might take some time, please wait patiently, but feel free to remind me after 7 days if you didn’t get your commissioned art, you paid for it, you deserve it.
5. I will draw both OCs & fictional characters from specific fandoms, i’ll list them
6. For people who did scroll through my page or know me from Youtube: I know i am capable of doing animations, but currently i will NOT do animations due to me having little experience with commissions, but it might change later.
Here’s a list of everything i can & can’t draw:
Can draw:
-Animals
-original species that resembles an animal (kinda like how pokemon resembles animals but are a bit different)
-Pokemon
-beasties from Beastie ball
-Palamutes from monster hunter
-Mythological creatures (dragons, pheonixes, ect.)
-human characters from the fandoms i said i will draw but animalized (as animals, their animal will be up to your choice, you can choose what animal you want me to draw them as)
Here’s a list of fandoms i am willing to make art of:
*Please note first that every human-like character i will draw as an animal due to my inability to draw humans :c*
Monster hunter stories (both 1 & 2, but only the non-monster characters since i still have to practice drawing MonHun monsters)
Monster hunter Palamutes
Pokemon (every pokemon except for Zacian & Zamazenta crowned forms cuz they’re so fucking hard)
Pokemon human characters as animals
Pokemon xenoverse
Pokemon uranium
Beastie ball (both beasties & humans since beasties aren’t as complicated as monsties)
I used to do Commissions for free before, i’ll show examples:
A commission done for Monstie69
I’ve done a commission for kenanthewolfpackleader in the past but I can’t find it since it’s in my very old posts (from a long while ago)
I also did a commission for someone i can’t remember his username, i drew his Baldur Gates 3 OC as a Dragonborn
Here’s a list of things i won’t draw that i refuse to do because of the rules of my blog in my pinned post:
NSFWs
Racism-related stuff
Politics related stuff
P3d0philia & Z00philia
There’s no refund for purchases, so please, if you’re a minor don’t use your parents’s money without permission, they’ll always find out.
I use Paypal, you don’t need to give me your personal info, only your email, not the password, i have a business paypal account.
If there’s something i haven’t written down here that you want to know feel free to ask me in DMs

so irritated with paypal right now. i noticed that i couldn’t do a transaction today, and i’ve already not been able to see any recent paypal transactions hitting my bank account. apparently today they started requiring biometric data (face ID) as part of identity verification. i had already verified but they asked me go do it again. ok. of course, they say i can still use my social and state ID to verify, so I try that. according to their FAQ it’s supposed to take 2 days to accept or deny, but I got an instant deny. i called on the phone (getting the number its whole own endeavor these days) and they tried to tell me i should just use face ID. i told them i don’t really consider my face to be private or secure information, considering i always post it online, and i can’t change it regularly the way i can with passwords, so I don’t consent to giving them my biomentric data or letting them use it for login. the customer support person was like “oh, would you look at that, we already HAVE your ID and SSN.” and i’m like yeah i know. you’ve had it for years. and i sent a scan of both today and it said unable to verify and logged me out. and they tell me “oh, how weird, [type type type type type type], well it might verify in the next few days, so call back if it doesn’t.” and then hung up. the past week of transactions hit my bank account right then. fantastic.
i have a feeling my verification will go through, but dealing with this after 6 months of dodging paypal trying to dark pattern me into giving them face ID at login has pissed me off

hello,
recently I've been scammed by a fake company for contract employment. it was very very efficient and all their IP addresses were fine until the very last email (it was blacklisted) and my bank called me and informed me of a fraudulent check. this has been getting to me for a lot of reasons such as feeling stupid enough to fall for it, feeling hopeless about being able to get a job (it's been over a year I've been trying but no one hires me)...
but it's getting to me mostly because I'm UNGODLY paranoid about it. I shouldn't be paranoid at all about it, but I've absolutely terrified that they're going to come to my house because my address was said. I blocked all parties involved, reported for phishing, and deleted the entire email accounts associated (even one that wasn't but I felt I needed to play it extra safe). I changed my number, updated all accounts/switched their associated emails/changed passwords/deleted when none of those worked.
I just can't help but feel paranoid that they're still following me or are going to use my information I provided for worse things. my boyfriend said that I did everything I needed to, that these people don't have the resources or energy to try and come for me when they likely scammed more people out of the 45 people who applied for the position as well. I've had my entire social security stolen when I was very young and I didn't freak out as much as this. since I've been unemployed for over a year it's not like these people could steal anything from me other than thousands in student and medical debt.
I just feel insanely stupid for being played like this and I just feel so much dread about it following me. am I right to? or is my boyfriend right? did I really do everything I was supposed to? how do I feel better about this? sorry to bother you about this...
Hey there,
Being scammed by different people/ organisations is so easy now days and especially when they make themselves look so professional as well! I was recently sent a handful of emails from paypal letting me know that I had limits on my paypal account unless I filled out forms including giving out personal information. It sounded legit to me by the look of the email and the email address that it was sent from, but it wasn’t until I reached out to paypal personally myself that I was told it was a scam, despite everything looking really professional and normal! So, I guess what I am trying to say is that it’s unfortunately so easy to be scammed now, and yes it does make you paranoid but there is also so many other things to focus on in your daily life and just knowing that you have done all the right things after finding out you were scammed, will hopefully put you a bit more at ease. Despite your boyfriend being right in saying all he did say to you though in regards to the scammers not having the energy or resources to take things further, it’s understandable that it’s still worrying you. But again, when you find your mind wandering to what happened, try to refocus your thoughts on something more positive and/ or what is actively going on in your day/s.
In regards to not being able to find a job, please try to be kind to yourself and don’t take it personally. It may be just people just aren’t hiring at the moment. I am not sure what kind of occupations you may be interested in, but is there any chance you could go back into study to further your skills which will then hopefully double your chances in then securing a job? Just something to think about!
I really hope that this has helped a bit and please do let us know if we can help to support you in any other way!
I’m thinking of you and hope that you are going OK!
Take care,
Lauren

Honestly, I find it absolutely hysterical that my old PayPal card info was stolen. Because, whoever took that info has been relentlessly trying to donate to charity. Like, legit charities nationwide.
I mean, I had to report the card as stolen, and change my password and all that, but still.
Anyway, I woke up this morning to an email about how a $50 charge was declined because my card was reported as stolen. It was to the freaking Delaware Submarine Association.
Honestly, that makes me wonder how many of those other times I had "insufficient funds" to cover a "transaction" were just someone trying to donate to charity using my card.
I mean, it's almost stopped since I reported my card stolen, like, this is the first one in like, two weeks. But still.
I'm trying to find the humor in it. Like, hun, if you find $50 in there, you let me know? Cause I got nada, and I need/want some things.
