H.R Wells X Curvy Fem Reader
Tumblr media
Requested by @twilightlover2007
Summary: Y/N just got her book published. She can not wait to share her big day with her friends at S.T.A.R Labs, but she can not find anyone, including her favorite Earth 19 Author. Only to have a surprise waiting for her at her favorite coffee spot.
Content Warning!: Feeling lonely/Forgotten and so much Fluff.
A/N: I am also dedicating this to my fellow writers out there, who may be feeling lost in a sea of words. I hope you keep going and keep writing. XOXO Sara
P.S. I hope i did this story well!

The box loomed on Y/N’s kitchen table, as she took a sip of her coffee excitement radiating off of her. This was it, the day that all her hard work, long nights, and immense amount of tears hit book shelves. She placed her coffee down on the table and with scissors she opened the box. Y/N’s eyes began to water she lifted the book out of the box. Her name on the bottom of the book, her book, she wrote a book. She held the book close to her chest and did a little happy dance tears streaming down her face.
“I can’t wait to show everyone,” She smiled to herself and ran into her room her book in hand to get changed. Putting on an Emerald Green sun dress that had a halter top that accentuated her chest and flared out at the waist. The dress accentuated her curves and gave her the extra confidence, the confidence she would need to share the rawest piece of her to the world, her close friends, and a certain doppleganger. Painting her lips a light pink and with her favorite pair of silver flats and was out the door to find her friends.
She walked into CCPD looking in the bull pen and could not find Joe, she walked up the stairs and headed to Barry’s lab only to find that empty as well. She looked at her phone, and began calling her friend and groaned when she only received his voicemail. “Maybe everyone is at S.T.A.R Labs,” she muttered to herself.
When she reached the labs she walked into the cortex, hoping to find Caitlin or Cisco. The area was completely empty. Continuing her search in the labs she was unsuccessful at finding any of her friends. She went down to the makeshift dormitory, in hopes to find her favorite author from Earth-19. She walked into the dorms heart sinking deep as the room was empty and his drumsticks were gone. She spent the whole day looking for her friends to share this big moment only to find them gone and unreachable. She felt a headache blooming behind her temples as there was a buzz on her phone to see a text from Iris.
Meet me at Jitters, coffee on me :)
A small smile, that a fellow writer didn’t forget about her and her writing accomplishment. She sent a reply:
Be there soon!
~Few Minutes Later~
As the evening rolled in Y/N made her way to jitters. When she reached the front doors her brow furrowed as the lights of jitters was completely dark. Checking her watch, it wasn’t near closing time, she decided that she would try the door and was shocked when the door opened with ease. She walked in the door and before she was able to call out the lights turned on with a crowd yelling, “SURPRISE!”
She clutched her chest as all her friends hopped out behind various places of Jitters. The place was decorated with posters of her book over the walls. Streamers of green ,white and gold over the roof with corresponding lanterns copies of her books were stacked at the counter. Everyone was there, Iris was the first to run up and give her a hug, “Congratulations, you did it!” She gave her a large smile, “How does it feel to be a published author?”
Y/N returned the smile, “I’ll let you know when it sinks in,” Barry, Cisco and Caitlin approached and hugged her as well, “You guys, I can’t believe you did all this for me. I don’t know what to say.”
Cisco held his hand up in defense, “We can’t take credit for this, it was H.R’s,” The four friends of hers smiled as they moved out of her way so she can get deeper into the coffee shop. She was greeted by Wally, Jessie, and Joe but no sight of H.R.
She walked up to the counter and grabbed a coffee when she was approached by a familiar face, She gave a warm smile, “Hi Harry,”
The earth-2 scientist smiled and put a friendly hand on her shoulder, “Congratulations, Y/N, I look forward to reading it.”
“It was a labor of love and I hope you enjoy,” She bit her lip, “Not that I am not appreciative of you being here, I am. Have you seen-“
Harry interrupted, “H.R?” She nodded her head as he responded, “He asked me to send you to the roof when you got here. And before you ask, no I do not know what he’s planned, nor did I want to.” He leaned in to give her a peck on the cheek, “Don’t keep that idiot waiting, Congratulations again.” He walked away as Y/N laughed as she headed toward the door that lead to the ceiling.
As she opened the door she let out a gasp, The roof had twinkle lights illuminating the usual dark ceiling. Rose pedals began from the door and led to a table that was set for two with the candle in the middle. H.R. appeared from the shadows with a bouquet of roses in his hand, “H.R,” tears welled up her eyes for the second time that day, “You did all this?”
The man bowed, “Well, only the best for my dear Kitten, on her big day.” He walked toward her, Y/N’s heartrate quicken as he approached her holding out the bouquet. “For you, Madame,” she took the flowers and sniffed them. H.R held up his arm for her to take, “Let’s celebrate.”
Y/N slipped her arm through his and he led her to the table, with her favorite meal and his favorite coffee. He released her arm and held the chair out for her, “H.R, I really don’t know what to say,” as she sat down. “This is wonderful.”
H.R sat down across from her a large grin on his face, “Anything for my girl,” He pressed a palm against his forehead, “I almost forgot,” He pulled out a copy of her book with a pen. “Will the beautiful author sign my copy of her book?”
Her mouth dropped again, catching herself, “Of course she will.”
Grabbing the book she began to write a note in it as H.R said, “The book was fantastic, Kitten,” he took a sip of his coffee. “It was truly powerful.”
Finishing signing the book she looked up at H.R, “You read it already?”
He nodded, “I bought it first thing at the bookstore, I spent 3 hours reading it, beautifully written. I can’t wait to read it again.”
She slid the book back to him and she smiled, “I lost someone dear to me a few years ago and ever since then the words flowed on the page and I knew I had a story that needed to be shared with the world. She was my strength and my driving force to finishing this. I hope I wrote something she could be proud of.”
H.R. grabbed the hand that was on top of the book and stroked the top of her hand. “I think she would be very proud of you.” He smiled, “I’m also proud of you, Kitten.”
“Open the book, H.R, I want you to see what I put in there.” Y/N smiled sliding her hand from his.
H.R opened the book and found the signed page.
To H.R,
The man who never gave up on me and encouraged me to follow my dreams. I love you with all my heart.
Forever Yours,
Y/N Y/L/N
H.R looked up at her and smiled, He got up and offered his hand to her. She grabbed his as he yanked her out of his seat. His hand wrapped around her curvy waist pulling her close to him. “Kitten, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. I would be honored to be yours forever and always. We can write novels together.” He got close that their noses touched, “When I’m not doing this of course.” He placed his lips on hers. Y/N’s arms wrapped around his neck and pulled him closer.
She pulled away a grin on her face, he returned the smile and he whispered one last time as he pulled her into a hug, “I’m so proud of you, Kitten. I Love you.”
She felt a wave of cold on her shoulder, like a phantom hand letting her know a presence was there it and hugged H.R closer to her, “I love you too, H.R.”

Prompt: that Old Guard!Cisco thing you've talked about :)
Cisco wakes up, aching. For a moment, he's relieved. Dr. Wells being the Reverse Flash, the Trap being fake all along, it was all just a really awful nightmare. He makes a mental note to avoid burritos after 1 am for the foreseeable future.
Except that his shirt still has a bloodstain over his heart. And he isn't slumped over his desk or his couch, but the hard floor of the subbasement. Above and behind him, the trap looms like a cage. Cisco swallows.
"Oh, no," he says, quiet. It still echoes.
Dr. Wells killed him. Dr. Wells confessed to murdering Nora Allen, to being the Reverse Flash, and then he killed him. But somehow he's still alive.
Not for long, Cisco thinks bitterly. He's no speedster. The minute Wells--Thawne, he said his name was Thawne--learns that he fucked up the murder somehow, he'll just kill Cisco again.
Unless... Maybe, if he doesn't realize Cisco's a threat. If he changes his shirt, claims he doesn't remember anything... Faking Amnesia's gotta be the dumbest trick in the book, but he's a little short on pages at the moment. He's already going to die, probably.
Cisco bites his lip, then stands, wobbling, and goes to get his laptop. He'll find a way to leave a message, just in case. Not for Caitlin-- Wells probably already killed her.
Cisco staggers at the thought, the sudden grief. He swallows hard. He has to play this exactly right.
He can hear Wells talking, his voice echoing down the curved corridor.
"Barry, I'm sorry. There was nothing I could do, he was too fast..."
Cisco took a breath, and a step.
"Cisco!" Barry yelped, running for him. Cisco held back the flinch at the lightning, letting Barry hug him. He was damp, the suit was soaked. "Oh my god, I was--I thought you were--Dr. Wells said--"
Dr Wells sat in his wheelchair, his eyes redrimmed. From crying, not evil lightning, Cisco notes. Fake crying, probably. He stares at Cisco. Cisco stares back.
Caitlin rushes into the hug. "Cisco, how did you get away?"
"Uh," Cisco says, trying to piece together an answer that'll fit with whatever story Wells was spinning.
"I really don't--I hit my head pretty hard. It's all kind of a blur. Can I sit down?" Before he finishes, there's a chair under him.
"I'm so sorry," Barry says, earnest. "I should have been there to save you. There was a tidal wave, and--Joe's in the hospital, but--Dr. Wells said--Caitlin said..."
"The Reverse Flash kidnapped you both," Caitlin interrupts. "Dr. Wells thought you were dead, I thought...."
"Yeah," Cisco says. " I... really don't remember--I came in here to see if there was anything to find Mardon and... then I was in the hallway. I../"
"I'm just glad you're alive," Caitlin says. "Let me make sure you don't have any internal bleeding, or--a TBI--well, you must, if you don't remember--but--" She cuts herself off, going to find her flashlight and kit.
"Cisco," Wells says, urgency in his voice. Cisco makes himself smile and not shudder back. "I'm...I can't tell you how good it is to see you."
"Yeah," says Cisco. "I'm glad you're alright, too."
"Here," Caitlin says. "Barry, can you get him to the medbay for me?"
Cisco blinks twice, feeling the sheets beneath him. "Fast," he says. He looks around. " So. Uh."
"Cisco," Caitlin says, looking at Barry. " You really don't--do you remember why you wanted me to..." she lowers her voice. " distract Dr. Wells? Before he got taken?"
"Oh," Cisco says, looking around. Barry's hovering anxiously. Wells isn't here yet, which is either good or extremely bad.  "Uh. Yes. I think I'm a metahuman."
"Oh," says Caitlin. "That's... it?"
"Pretty much," Cisco says.
"What can you do?" Barry asks.
"Mmmmm, you might wanna sit down. Wait. FIRST you might want to get Iris, and Joe and Eddie, and maybe my family if you can and get them very far away and not tell anyone where, ok?"
*
The dreams start that night. Cisco's barely asleep on Joe's couch, the rest of them all piled into the house for the sake of numbers. Eobard Thawne's body lies somewhere in the pipeline, left after being sure. Both Eddie and Joe's gun's worth of bullets sure. He dreams of a woman in the water, drowning, and wakes with a hand over his heart.
He doesn't speak of it the next morning.
None of them want to leave, not even to go get coffee, but some how the world goes on. Barry stopped the tidal wave but there's still so much fallout from that, and the fight through the streets.  Cisco stays on the couch while Iris sits in the kitchen, writing her article for a noon deadline, even though she was up half the night with it already.
When the front door splinters, Cisco braces.
"Hey, kid." A woman with short cropped hair says. " Need you to come with me."
"Uh.. no," Cisco says. Somehow dying twice in a day has made him braver.
The woman looks over her shoulder. A handsome guy with a beard extends a hand. "You're one of us. For your safety..."
"No, thanks," Cisco says, inching a hand for his phone. He needs Barry to get here before Iris hears and yells and gets her very-much-not-immortal-neck snapped, or whatever. "I'm good."
"You died yesterday," says the Woman.
"Yup," Cisco says, still going for his phone, until the guy with the beard spots his hand.  "And yet!"
"People will notice."
"They definitely did."
"All the more reason to hide. This City isn't safe for you. There's rumors about a lab..."
"Which I work for," Cisco interrupts, then wishes he hadn't when he sees the murderous look in the guy's eyes. "Doing totally normal things. Like make  stuff that can stop giant lightning storms that almost took out the police station. tech stuff. Very cool. Can you leave?"
"You're going to end up in a cage if you stay."
"I mean, maybe, but seeing as how everyone I'm friends with is already on whatever shady science and evil government wish list, I think I'm good here."
"...explain." The woman sits. "I'm Andy."
"And we're sitting. Cool," says Cisco. "Feeling a little outnumbered here. can I phone a friend? Also a metahuman, great guy."
"No."
"Well, it's his house," Cisco says, poking the beacon button. "Look, I hope you're here to be concerned and not kidnap me, because really, I'm fine. And the last time someone tried to kidnap one of my friends it didn't go great. it was a whole thing like, a month ago? So really, I'm in good hands here."
"A month ago," the guy repeats. "I'm Joe, by the way."
"Oh, that's going to be confusing."
"That wouldn't have been an army base, would it? Blown up entirely?" Andy asks.
"It was a team effort," Cisco shrugs.  A flash of gold lightning breaks one of the intact windows in a roar.
"Hey Flash," Cisco says. "Got company! Probably fine."
"Explain," Andy says. "From the beginning."
"Well he's the fastest man alive, and fifteen years ago....Look, this might take a while."
"We have time."

MASTERLIST

“Move..” Y/N pushed Barry out of her way to the trash can to empty her stomach contents. Barry pulled her hair back and gently rubbed circles on her lower back, encouraging her to get it all out. Groaning, she straightened her posture and wiped her mouth using the sleeve of her jumper, hating the fact that her friend saw her throw up the bacon and eggs she had for breakfast.
“You okay?” The speedster could clearly see that she’s barely able to keep a straight face and that bothered him. Barry rolled the chair over and eased her to sit down, slowly pushing the trash can closer to her in case she needed to throw up again.
“This is the fourth day I’ve seen you like this. What’s going on, are you sick?”
“No, no, it’s probably just what I ate today.” She tried to brush him off but he saw through her lies and he wasn’t dropping it until she told him what’s going on.
“You are aware that I can tell when you’re lying to me right?”
“Screw you Allen.” Barry smirked as she reached into her bag in search of something to show him. She retrieved a small envelope and handed it over to him. Y/N anxiously chewed on her bottom lip as she waited to see his reaction to the photos in his possession. His furrowed eyebrows shot up in surprise once the realization set in.
“You’re pregnant?!”
“Shhhh!” Y/N panicked, looking around to make sure that it’s only them in the cortex at the moment. Barry was excited about his friend’s pregnancy but his excitement dimmed a bit seeing that she wasn’t as excited as he was about all this.
“You’re not excited, why are you not excited?”
“Barry, I am terrified about this pregnancy.” Barry pulled the other chair to sit in front of her and took her hands in his. Y/N tightened her grip on his hand trying her best to not get too emotional about her predicament.
"Hey, hey…talk to me."
"I can't do this on my own. I'm not even sure if I'm going to be a good mom, hell I don't even know if I'm ready for this. Bar I got knocked up by a one night stand who doesn't want anything to do with me or this baby." Barry wiped away her tears with the pad of his thumb, his blood boiled in his veins upon hearing that the man neglected his responsibility and he wanted nothing more than to run over to the man’s house to kick his ass.
"Breathe with me, in and out." Y/N followed his lead to get her to calm down, she was having a hard time breathing as she panicked over the thoughts of how badly things could go wrong.
"If you do decide to keep it I know you're going to be an incredible mother and who said that you're gonna do this alone? I'm here and I'm not going to leave you to do this alone. Plus you've got Cisco, Caitlin, Iris and Joe to help out from time to time."
"I don't even know if I want to keep it and I have limited time to decide on that option."
"Whatever you decide, you have my support but do what you think is best."
“Thank you, Bar.”
Barry kissed her cheek and pulled her in for a hug, smiling as she nuzzled her nose into the crook of his neck. There was nothing in this world that he wouldn’t do for her because he knew that she’d be there for him no matter what.

❛ you can come over any time. it’s not a problem. ❜ for Barry and Cisco?
Cisco and Kamilla had bought a house.
Actually bought it. They had gone to a bank and got a mortgage and given the estate agent their deposit or maybe given the bank the deposit and the bank had given the estate agent money and the estate agent had given them keys and paperwork and now they owned a house.
(Barry was probably going to have to find out how mortgages work at some point. He loved the loft, but they already knew Nora and Bart would be born eventually, they would need more space with two little speedsters learning to run.)
But Cisco and Kamilla owned a house now. The two of them. It wasn't a very big house, it was a modest three bedroom, one of which would be used as an office for now, it had a back yard a little smaller than Joe's but a good enough size Cisco was plotting out where he was going to put raised beds already, and a nice kitchen, and it was a nice house. Cisco liked his job and Kamilla was doing well and everything was going well for them and they had bought a house and Barry was trying so hard to be happy for them.
He was happy for them. He was. Cisco was his best friend, of course he was happy Cisco was happy. That was why he'd offered to come over and help them move after all, so Cisco could show off his new house and Barry could see how happy he was and tell Cisco how happy he was Cisco was happy and things were going so well.
But Cisco had bought a whole house with Kamilla and it wasn't in Central City.
And maybe Barry had held onto this secret little feeling he would never admit to Cisco that all while they were renting an apartment the move was still temporary and they would come back, but buying felt so much more final. Like it was official now, that Cisco's life was here now, not back home with Barry.
And Barry really was happy for him. Cisco was the smartest person Barry knew, he deserved to be able to take every opportunity, he deserved every chance, Cisco could do so much good and staying at S.T.A.R. Labs talking Barry through things he'd done a hundred times before and could do with his eyes shut was a waste of Cisco's talent and it was too selfish of him to ask Cisco to do that, Cisco could do so much more, Barry wanted Cisco to do so much more. Barry wanted Cisco to have the best life he could, to have every chance he wanted, he wanted Cisco to be happy, he did.
But once, this had been just him and Cisco, the eyes and ears and the feet. Cisco was the first person who had believed in Barry, Cisco was the one who made him the Flash suit, Barry wouldn't be the Flash without Cisco Ramon.
And he did love his friends. Chester, Allegra, Frost, everyone, he loved them.
But every time he put those ear pieces in he still expected the voice coming through to be Cisco's.
"I miss you too, you know."
Barry jumped as Cisco appeared in the doorway.
"I was just..." Barry waved the frame he was holding wildly. "I was just unpacking this box for you."
"Barry," Cisco said. "You're my BFF. I know you. And I miss you too."
"Yeah."
Barry put the frame down, the photo of Cisco with Barry outside Earth-2 S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry wasn't sure how it had survived the Crisis, but he was glad they still had some things to remember their lost friends by.
"I really am happy for you," Barry said, ignoring the tears he could feel pricking at his eyes. "I love you, Cisco. You're my best friend."
"Come here, you big idiot," Cisco said, swooping Barry up into one of his big hugs Barry had missed so much.
Barry buried his face in Cisco's shoulder.
"I'm not going to find another best friend just because I moved," Cisco said. "And you better not be looking for one either. As if anyone could ever replace me. I might not be part of Team Flash any more, but I will always be there for you."
"You'll always be part of Team Flash," Barry said. "That big heart of yours is the reason there is one."
"Well, now you're going to make me cry too," Cisco said, sniffing a little. "I love you too, you big goofus. You ever call, I'll be there in a heartbeat, you know that, right?"
"Me too," Barry said. "Anything you need, ever, I'll race over before you've even had time to hang up."
"What if I need someone to reach something off a high shelf for me?"
Barry took hold of Cisco's shoulders.
"Anything," he said. "Anything at all."
"What if I need someone to hold my hand on a rollercoaster?" Cisco asked.
"Anything except that," Barry said. "I'm glad you're happy, Cisco."
"I'm glad you're happy," Cisco said. "Even if it's still weird not getting to see you every day. I got you a key though. Kamilla and I talked. You can come over any time, it's not a problem. I mean, a little heads up would be appreciated, but just run over whenever you want. It'll only take you, what, a minute?"
"Please, it wouldn't even take a full second," Barry said. "You know that goes for you too, right? Any time you want to visit home, you can stay with Iris and me. I promise I'll be better company than that time I crashed on your couch."
"I'm going to take you up on that so many times," Cisco said. "You changed my life, Barry Allen. I will always be grateful for that."
"You changed mine," Barry said. "And I will always be so glad to have you as my friend. The universe wants us to be bros, right?"
"Maybe," Cisco said. "It doesn't matter. I want us to be bros. No matter the timeline changes, I'll find you every time. You're not getting rid of me that easily."
"Good."

One of my favorite things about Rogue Time, honestly, is the fact that that's the episode where I first realized that Cisco was actually important to Barry (tbh I think it’s the episode where Cisco first realized he was important to Barry, too).
Everything I saw about The Flash on Tumblr before I started watching the show (aside from Kurtbastian AU gifsets) had to do with either Westallen or Snowbarry, with some Coldflash and Olivarry thrown in as well, and I saw pretty much nothing about Cisco. And what with Iris being Barry's childhood best friend and Caitlin having a Hermione-esque energy (and Tumblr SERIOUSLY misleading me about what her relationship with Barry was gonna be like), I thought that Cisco was going to be basically a third wheel who's only there to make handy gadgets, name bad guys, crack jokes, and get yelled at when he's not being Serious™️ enough. I had absolutely no clue he was going to become Barry's best friend; I really thought he was just gonna be Some Guy that works with him.
So it was something of a surprise when Barry reacted the way he did to finding out that Cisco had been kidnapped. Then when Cisco is let go and he tells Barry that Captain Cold forced him to tell him his secret identity, I expected Barry to actually react to that news in some way. I expected him to be stressed, and maybe even a little mad/annoyed at Cisco, even if he didn't say so to his face and just gave him a polite, "the important thing is that you're safe", and then went all "that bitch actually sold me out" to Caitlin or Joe or Wells later (I feel like Clark did something like that on Smallville once, but I don't remember the circumstances, and I think that's what I based my expectations off of). But instead, Barry's concern was 100% for Cisco. He didn't get upset or put any kind of blame on Cisco; he just hugged him, told him he was sorry for putting him in a position where that could happen in the first place, and then worked out the matter of Captain Cold knowing his identity on his own—which involved telling him that if he ever hurt anyone he loved again, he would take him down and he didn't care how many people he told his real identity to. So even when he's running damage control, Cisco's safety still takes priority over his own anonymity.
Another thing I love about that situation is that it's one of many turning points in Barry and Cisco's relationship. One was in Captain Cold's first episode, another was after Flashpoint, and so on. This particular one showed us Cisco thinking Barry's life is more important than his own, and very likely thinking that he cared more about Barry than Barry did for him, considering the kind of relationship he has with Dante, the fact that he went his whole life up to this point thinking that Melinda Torres didn't love him back, and the fact that this episode comes right on the heels of us learning that the person Cisco admires the most and sees as a father figure is capable of killing him in cold blood without hesitation. Even though Cisco doesn't remember that timeline yet, we know he's used to having unrequited feelings for people, so it tracks that he would have the same expectations in his friendship with Barry. He's just happy to help from the sidelines, he doesn't need recognition for everything he does, so it doesn't even occur to him that Barry sees and appreciates his value and genuinely cares about him as a person, and not just the guy who patches up his suits. Once he does figure out that Barry values him, it gives him more security and confidence in their relationship, which results in him later getting more sarcastic with him, and being able to vocally disagree with him, without worrying that Barry will stop being his friend. And the longer the series goes on, the stronger their friendship grows, and the more comfortable Cisco becomes in challenging what Barry thinks, and because of this, Barry is able to grow more as a person as well—and it wouldn't even have been possible if he hadn't shown Cisco that he was important to him.

The Flash: Prompt | Tunnel Vision | Cisco x Averey (OC)
A/N: After Barry is "destroyed" in Season 2xEpisode 20 "Rupture"
-Rhuben OTP Prompts: Protectiveness | Ask Box
-
Everything seemed to blur and come into focus all at the same time as Cisco took in the scene in front of him. Or rather what he could see through the dissipating smoke. Smoke that smelled horribly of chemicals and ash. It wasn’t a smell he wasn’t used to; working in the field of science and building all the “toys” he could, he was used to the smell of chemicals, and it wasn’t out of the ordinary for a circuit board to fry here and there. But together? That was a horrible smell.
He could feel his mouth form words, he was asking a question, but he didn’t hear it as he took in the sight in front of him: everybody picking themselves up off of the floor; Iris with her hands clasped tightly over her mouth; Joe whose face was slack and void of any emotion save for the tears that were collecting in his eyes; Henry grasping firmly to the bars in front of him as his knees gave out; Harry whose face was twisted into a haunted gaze; Averey who sat with her back to the small flight of stairs, staring into the empty space that had just held Barry’s writhing form only moments before.
“What did you do to my son?” A quiet question. And then, “What did you do to my son?!”
Cisco didn’t really know if Henry had shouted those words, or if his grief was just so palpable that he could feel it all around and inside himself. He barely registered the rush of wind that pulled at him, his hair and clothes, that signified Zoom’s appearance. He barely registered the words that Zoom were saying, his eyes just zeroed in on the large, charred, chunk of Barry’s suit that Zoom clutched tightly in his hand.
“Well done…” Zoom’s gloating words floated past Cisco’s ears. Still, he couldn’t focus on the monster in front of him, just the shred of suit in Zoom’s talons. The suit he had worked so hard on. The suit that his best friend was no longer wearing. His best friend who was nowhere to be seen. “You’ve killed him instead.”
It felt like the air had been sucked out of the room. Out of his lungs. What did he do? What did he do to Henry’s son? To Joe? To Iris? To his best friend?
Cisco buried his face into his hands before sliding his hands up over his face, over his hair, attempting to calm himself down. To think! How were mothers so good at that? How could they just stroke their children’s hair, and shush them, and make everything feel like it was going to be ok. But he couldn’t do that for himself. He couldn’t close his eyes, and whisper, “Everything will be ok” and expect just that when he opened them again.
His hands were shaking too much. His legs were shaking too much. His heartbeat fluttered as quickly as a hummingbird in his chest. And Averey wouldn’t stop shouting Barry’s name over and over and over and over. Iris’s heart wrenching sobs echoed around the room.
And then he was moving. He turned to see Harry just staring, staring at where Zoom had just been standing. Joe held Iris tightly to his chest, still with the same empty, yet solemn look on his face. Henry was now leaning heavily on the stair railing, forehead pressed to his forearm, his other hand placed heavily on Averey’s shoulder through the gaps in the railing bars, trying to provide some comfort to his daughter.
Cisco was then by Averey’s side, pulling her to him. “Stop,” he said to her as she fought against him, trying to pull away from his embrace. “Stop looking. Stop.” His voice cracked at the command. He was saying those words to her as much as he was saying it to himself. To stop looking at what he had just done and to attempt to stop the tears that were coming to his eyes. He pressed her forehead into his chest and whispered into her ear, “I’m so sorry.”

That Rare Arctic Thunderstorm: Ch17 (on AO3)
FULL FIC LINK HERE
It took all of Eddie’s self-control not to touch his left jacket pocket as he and Iris stepped onto the walkway at the waterfront park. His hand kept twitching towards it, trying to check that the small square box was still where he’d put it. Iris hugged his right arm, and a light breeze wafted her jasmine perfume up to his nose. Despite that, he felt like throwing up. That, or he was about to have a heart attack. He’d faced down dangerous criminals, gang members, and even a few metahumans, but all of that paled in comparison to the terror that seized him tonight. “That restaurant was so worth the week and a half it took to get a new reservation,” Iris was saying. “Barry and Len needed us last time, but…” “It was an emergency.” Eddie smiled down at her again. “It’s okay.” “Still, I haven’t been home enough lately.” Iris tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “I’m trying to persuade Eric to take Linda off the sports beat so she and I can share features work more.” “I know what it’s like, having a demanding boss.” Eddie squeezed her hand, pulling her closer to the riverside, to a spot where the lights from Keystone twinkled the brightest across the water. “With Joe away until Saturday, Captain Singh’s been harder on me than usual.” “So, Dad didn’t tell you why he took a few personal days off either.” Iris pursed her lips. “He’s been struggling with something he won’t talk about, so I hope this trip helps. Even though he wouldn’t tell me where he went.” “He’s a tough guy. He’ll be fine.” Truth be told, Eddie was glad that Joe had gone out of town. (And that he’d taken Len’s advice not to tell his girlfriend’s father what he was planning.) He was anxious enough as it was without dreading walking into the station in the morning. He took a deep breath, steeling himself when they got to the edge of the railing. There were a few other people walking in the park, but they were far enough away for the illusion of privacy. He’d been wanting to do this for several months, and now—now he couldn’t afford to get cold feet. “I don’t want to talk about Joe—or Barry and Len—anymore,” he said softly, stopping by one of the streetlamps. “I want tonight to be about you. About us.”

It looks like Barry is kneeled down hugging Iris. I just hope that scene is only them and then Joe and Cecile walk in. But it’s looking to be like Iris announces the pregnancy to them all at the same time
Which honestly wouldn’t be a problem if it was just Barry and Joe. But adding Eric’s favorite banshee is going to ruin it. Hopefully she stands over to the side and keeps her mouth shut for five minutes so we can enjoy the moment.

Eobard Thawne - (Flash) AU Chapter 14
Tumblr media
The unfortunate reality was harsh.
Godspeed..your brother was locked up in Argus for life. He needed to pay for all the lives he took. As much as you pleaded with Cisco, he told you that ultimately it was up to a jury. If there was a vote for the death penalty, you knew that half the city would have petitioned for that.
Central City was safe.
Team Flash was safe.
Eobard was safe.
Barry stood in the speed lab, along with everyone else. He was still marveling at the clear difference, probably the same way you had when you first got there.
“I still can’t believe Cisco is a detective!”
Cisco smiled.
“What, is my doppleganger some kind of nerdy genius.” He laughed and Barry just awkwardly rubbed his neck. Cisco’s face changed.
“Wait, are you serious? Well I didn’t see that coming.” Joe laughed along with the rest of them.
“W-What about me? Am I a scientist in your universe as well?” Iris asked curiously. Barry looked at her fondly.
“You’re incredible in every universe.” She blushed at the compliment, and Bart stepped forward.
“Hands off she’s mine!!”
He stood defensively in front of her, and you know that just added to her already flustered state.
Barry wears an easy smile.
Eobard is standing somewhat at the back. You’re standing the closest to him. The others are distracted, so you send him a smile that he returns weakly. There still felt like so much needed to be said. You opened your mouth to explain. But he shook his head.
“I was wrong.” He admits, taking your hands.
“I was selfish and angry. We all knew that your entire reason for being here was to get back home. I was being petty and I’m sorry."
His reaction was understandable.
“I’m sorry too.”
So much had changed.
“I want you to be happy.” You can tell he wants to say more, but you all see the blinking blue light on Barry’s suit.
“The portal..” He mutters.
The ring that appears right in front of him makes everyone take a much needed step back. With all that was happening, you supposed the time did get away from you. Barry has already given his goodbyes and he holds a hand out for you.
“Are you ready?”
You glance between him and everyone present. There is nothing but smiles.
“We’re gonna miss you.” Iris says.
“Might be better if you leave, I’m tired of you trying to outshine me.” Bart’s says.
“Don’t forget to put your Barry in his place when he’s annoying.” Caitlin quips.
“Be careful.” Joe advises.
“We won’t forget you.” Cisco smiles.
Your eyes land on Eobard, he can’t find the words to say.
So he just provides the best smile that he can. He moves over for a hug, but you take his hands, and he’s a little confused.
“I’m not going back.”
It’s crazy. When you first got here, all you wanted was to leave.
Eobard is clearly taken aback.
Barry is the one who now looks sad. He’d been so sure that when he saw you he would be taking you home.
“You’re staying..”
You knew his whole reason for coming here was to save you. But you can’t leave. Because for the first time in a long time you can say that you are truly happy. Team Flash in your universe was great, but this is where you need to be.
It’s where you’re meant to be.
“Thank you for coming for me Barry.”
He wears a smile.
“I’ll always come for you.”
This was not the outcome he hoped for, but he respects your decision.
“We’ll always be family (Y/N).”
You do your best to hold in the tears as you smile at him.
“I know. I love you Barry Allen.”
He loses the battle. The tears come faster than he can stop them.
“I love you too.”
The device on his chest blinks again.
He sends you one last look before he steps inside.
Pretty soon he's completely through and you can see the portal slowly disappearing.
It's gone in a matter of seconds.
“I can’t believe you were actually going to leave me, you jerk!!” Bart basically tackles you into a hug, and you laugh. Caitlin snickers.
“The second you were gone he was going to burst into tears.”
“No I wasn’t!!”
“You so were!!”
“Shut up!!”
The banter continues, and all you can do is laugh heartily as you stare back at your new friends.
New family.

🐑Barry Allen needs a hug, smoking, possessive behavior, mood swings
This ended up being more of a ficlet than summary lmao sorry. Inspiration train hit. Fake fic ask game
Barry had a stalker. He’d known that for a while now but it appeared to be getting progressively worse as time went on.
It may have just been paranoia, but he could’ve sworn a figure appeared in the corner of his eye sometimes, and every time he looked back— it was gone. He’d shrugged it off at first, then the first note came. A little yellow card made from folded construction paper had been waiting on his desk. Intrigued, Barry had picked it up, notcing the faint smell of cigarettes. One word had been neatly written in large letters:
“Hi”
Since then, he’d been more cautious. Only using his speed after triple checking the surrounding area to ensure he was really alone. He should have told someone, the team, Joe— but he didn’t want them to worry. He was the Flash. He could handle this.
In the present, Barry was in an excellent mood. He’d just been on a date and it had gone very well. Humming to himself with a small stride in his step, he unlocked his apartment and entered. Nothing out of the ordinary. I’m just being paranoid. Why would there be anything unusual in his apartment? Nevertheless, a weird feeling crept in the corner of his mind. With a glance around, he flashed through the entire apartment, looking for something, anything wrong. He pursed his lips after coming up empty. I’m just being paranoid. The thought came a second too soon.
A little red card sat on the floor in front of him. His heart rate tripled as he bent down to pick it up. Why was he so scared? But when Barry opened it— that fear solidified with new meaning. The card fell back to the ground and he fumbled for the phone in his jacket with trembling hands. On the paper, in that same neat writing as before:
“No one else gets to have you. You’re mine, Flash ♡”

Barry gets struck by the lightning of destiny and is taken to the hospital. Iris follows after but it takes a looooong time for her to get in touch with Joe. Chyre's been shot so Joe is trying to keep his partner from dying and even then the cell phone towers are down so his phone won't be getting a signal. (RIP, Chyre. Sorry about the canonical death there, buddy.)
So Iris is having to try and stay with Barry but she's not 'legally' his family and with all the other patients and the electrical issues... the staff is really pushing not letting anyone but immediate family in. Joe could get in since he's got the power of attorney for Barry in case of situations like these, but Iris... is out of luck.
The words just... slip out. "He's my boyfriend." And a sympathetic nurse lets her in to Barry's room anyway.
Iris figures it's a small fib in the scheme of things, it doesn't change anything. Just can't let her dad know because he'd never let her live it down.
Eventually Joe gets there and by then the entire staff knows Iris is the girlfriend. Joe's let in and Iris struggles to keep anyone - especially her dad - from playing telephone with this information around him. Does not occur to her to just... walk back the lie.
Barry gets transferred to STAR Labs and Iris is once again not sure she'll be allowed to visit. She's somehow managed to keep her dad from finding out (or he knows and is finding this as the one hilarious thing happening in the midst of badness) about the whole 'girlfriend' debacle, but hey at least she can start fresh with the STAR Labs crew. Surely her dad made sure she was on the approved visitors list... right?
Iris shows up at STAR Labs. Dr. Wells greets her personally. "Barry's... girlfriend, was it?"
Iris - *PANIC* Yes. Yes. I'm the girlfriend. Totally. Dating Barry.
So Cisco and Caitlin get to know Iris as the person who loves Barry the most, his girlfriend. Caitlin and Iris bond over losing Barry and Ronnie and Caitlin is determined that at least Iris will get her person back. Cisco and Iris bond over all the nerdy stuff Barry likes that Iris enjoyed but sometimes pretended not to get in order to tweak Barry's nose. She talks to Dr. Wells about Barry's enthusiasm about the accelerator and how much being looked after by him and his team will mean to Barry when he wakes.
And... Iris slowly starts to realize that she's been falling in love with Barry for a while now and she needs him to wake up for a whole new reason. So she can tell him.
Cue Barry finally waking up while Iris is at work and Cisco referring to Iris as Barry's girlfriend. Barry going "????!!!!!" and a hairsbreadth from correcting him but... it sounds like he and Caitlin actually know her well? Yet still think she's dating Barry? Did he miss something? Did he actually tell her the truth after all before the lightning strike and she agreed to date him after all?
He's gotta know. Now. So he runs off first chance he can get, STAR Labs sweats and his wallet and phone thankfully also there waiting for him so he can uber out of there to Jitters. To where Iris is.
Iris is overjoyed to see him, hugs Barry immediately. And he hugs her back and promises he's fine now and why do the very nice scientists at STAR Labs think they're dating?
And the two of them kinda blurt out the whole in love with each other thing at the same time.
Iris' manager - This is cute, guys, but Kendra's sick so I really do need Iris to finish her shift now. Also I need her at the counter specifically so I can see who won the betting pool.
Because Iris has absolutely been spilling this entire debacle to her fellow baristas and they've been betting on a.) the day Barry wakes up and b.) how long after he wakes up Iris lasts before confessing her feelings.

A Drug You Can’t Buy.
Roughly 3820 words
New Ending.
Origin story by: @NotPop on wattpad
Cisco was done.
He was done with Team Flash's under-appreciative attitude towards everything he did for them. Done with not being able to use his powers to their full potential, because he was scared. Done with always being treated at the jokester and never being taken seriously. And he was especially done with always having to stand by and watch the obvious sexual tension between Iris West and he man he loved.
Barry Allen. The Flash. The fastest man alive. Central City's hero. Cisco's drug.
Cisco was addicted to Barry, even if the hero didn't know it. Everything he did was perfect to Cisco. Barry could do no wrong, in his eyes.
But, Barry loved Iris, and Iris loved Barry. There was no room for Cisco in his life as anything other than a good friend and the occasional drinking buddy.
One night in particular was worse than normal, for Cisco. He was feeling especially useless to the people surrounding him as they all watched Barry speed around the city. He had tried to provide information he thought to be useful, multiple times, but had each time been shot down by Caitlin and HR, and sometimes even Joe, who all claimed that his ideas were 'too risky', and would 'put Barry in unnecessary danger'.
Eventually, he simply didn't want to be there, anymore. But, of course, he needed to wait until Barry waltzed through the door, again, beaming about his victory against the new meta-human that Alchemy has reawakened.
But, Barry didn't come.
He didn't show up for a long time after he was supposed to. They had lost communication on the headsets, but were still able to track vitals, which were normal for Barry.
And, like they should have been, his movements were confined to the area in which they had tracked the meta-human's location to be.
Twenty minutes after the fight should have been long ended, Cisco felt his stomach drop in worry. Where was his Barry?
"Do you think he's okay?" Caitlin asked in concern, eyeing the tracker on the screen.
Nobody gave her an answer, though, because nobody had one.
They all figured Barry was fine. It was only twenty minutes, after all. But, there would always be that lingering worry in the back of their heads whenever the speedster went out for a fight, no matter how big or small.
Thirty minutes, Cisco was beginning to feel sick.
Suddenly, Barry came charging through the door, the predicted smile bright on his charming face.
"Haha!" he laughed, and it was music to Cisco's ears. "Sorry that took so long, guys. They had a couple moves up their sleeves. Didn't see it coming."
Iris smiled back, strolling over to hug her childhood friend. She hummed into the hug, then pulled back, saying,
"I'm just glad you're okay.
Don't scare me like that, again," she lectured in a flirtatious tone, giggling.
Barry grinned at the obvious moves on him, promising her that he wouldn't.
Cisco instantly felt sick, again.
"Alright, alright, great job today, team!" HR exclaimed, clapping his hands together after setting down his coffee cup. "But, uh, maybe speed it up a little, next time, huh, BA?" he directed at Barry, snapping his fingers rhythmically. "I mean, you are the Flash, after all. The speed is kind of in the name, you know?"
They all dispersed into small talk, while Cisco simply fiddled with his fingers on the Cortex desk, keeping his eyes on his hands while he did so. Joe was the first to notice the lack of that special, Cisco joy in the room, and turned to see where he was. He saw him sitting, alone and quiet, and furrowed his brow in confusion.
Joe had been absentmindedly noticing, yet not quite realizing fully, how throughout the past week or two Cisco's energetic nature had slowly deteriorated. He glanced at the group of chatting teammates, who didn't even seem to notice their other friend's absence, then walked over to Cisco, leaning down by him.
"Hey, you alright?" Joe asked in a concerned tone, seeing the emotionless look in Cisco's normally lively eyes.
He glanced towards his love's foster father, a small part of him glad that someone finally noticed and placed his feelings into consideration. But, the bigger part of him was unwilling to share to Joe, or anyone, what was really on his mind.
"Yeah, I'm fine," he lied through his teeth, trying to smile. However, as hard as he tried, he just could not force himself to at that moment.
Joe raised an eyebrow.
"Well, you sure don't seem fine," the cop instantly caught onto his friend's fib, leaning his forearms onto the desk, close to Cisco. "You know you can talk to me, right?"
"Yeah... Look, Joe, I'm okay. Just haven't been feeling well, lately, that's all. Probably just a twenty-four hour bug." Another lie.
Joe shook his head, obviously not believing his younger friend, but let it go nonetheless.
Cisco sighed as the cop stood fully up once again, and strolled back over to Barry. Cisco swallowed and got up from his chair. He would have announced that he was going to go outside for a minute, but he knew nobody would hear him. And if they did, they probably wouldn't even pay attention.
He left the Cortex, going upstairs to the roof of S.T.A.R. Labs. It was where he tended to go whenever he felt down about anything; Barry, Barry and Iris, his powers, etcetera, etcetera. His list of problems went on.
As he reached the top, he pulled a joint out of his inner coat pocket, along with a small lighter he had grabbed from his work table drawer earlier in the day. He put it up to his lips, lighting it, and beginning to smoke.
He was up there for a good ten minutes, alone with his thoughts, when he heard the door leading to the stairs open with a creak. He turned around to face whomever had come up, and was surprised to see that it was Barry.
"Hey, dude," the speedster greeted as Cisco immediately turned back around, attempting to hide the joint he had between his lips. He knew that Barry didn't approve of drugs, or smoking, or anything along the lines. And although it may have calmed him down, Cisco didn't want to disappoint his love.
"Hey," he responded after removing the marijuana cigarette from his lips, covering up his action by making it seem as though he had simply been brushing his wavy, uncombed hair out of his face.
"What're you doing up here?" Barry questioned, beginning to step closer to his friend. Cisco had an uneasy feeling as he held the joint between two of his fingers. "Everybody's downstairs."
"I know," Cisco mumbled his reply. "Just needed some fresh air."
"Oh," Barry said, not seeming to catch onto the discomfort laced in Cisco's words. A minute went by with no words, before Barry spoke again; "Hey, you alright, dude? Why..." he trailed off in slight confusion, tilting his head, "Why aren't you looking at me?"
Cisco bit his lip, squinting his eyes at the city lights he saw ahead of him. "Just enjoying the view."
"Oh, okay..." Barry looked skeptically at the back of Cisco's oversized brown coat. He knew that he wasn't the best at reading people, but he could tell that something was wrong with his friend.
"Well, mind if I join you?" He began to walk closer, his footsteps making little noise on the concrete roof. He noticed Cisco immediately tense.
"Nope. That's cool," the mechanic replied in a defensive tone, almost as if he had something to hide.
"You sure? I can leave if you want to be alone, right now."
Cisco was caught in a dilemma; he so desperately wished for his speedster to go back downstairs to their friends. But, he also wanted Barry to have no reason to be suspicious of him. There was no good choice for Cisco.
"You can do whatever," he finally stated, discreetly tuning even more away in order to hide the drug he had with him. "It's cool either way."
Barry nodded, and walked closer, still, until he was next to Cisco, joining him in staring out at the city lights. Cisco felt a wave of panic rush through him as he held the joint down at his side. Barry's eyes were not on him; however, Cisco didn't know what to do to dispose of the drug, at that point. There wasn't anything he could do without Barry noticing. So, he simply did nothing.
Barry opened his mouth, beginning to speak, when he took note of Cisco's awkwardly placed hands. One was on the rail, and his left, the farthest from Barry, was down at his side, and it seemed as though it had been placed in that exact position so it could not be seen.
Barry glanced at Cisco's face, looking for any sort of evidence that he was actually hiding something, and furrowed his brow in confusion. He knew he may have been simply reading too much into the situation, but Cisco wasn't acting like Cisco; he wasn't excitedly going on about one thing or another, he wasn't smiling like always, and the usual light that came from his eyes was diminished.
Barry bit his lip, slightly concerned about his friend. He laid his hand on Cisco's shoulder, causing the shorter man to flinch. Barry leaned forward slightly, as to be able to look his friend in the eye. "Hey, man, you sure you're alright?"
Before Cisco could respond, however, Barry happened to lean a little bit too far. He had just barely caught sight of the small, brown cigarette in Cisco's left hand.
"Cisco, what is that?" Barry immediately asked, cutting short Cisco's response to the previous question.
The mechanic pursed his lips nervously, shrugging Barry's hand off his shoulder. "What's what?" he mumbled, beginning to turn away.
"Cisco," Barry said in a slightly annoyed tone. "Come on, man, show me."
"No," Cisco quickly responded, walking briskly back towards the stairs. However, Barry was immediately in front of him, a stern and disapproving expression on his face as he grabbed Cisco's wrist with lightning speed, in order to see what he had been hiding.
Knowing he had been found out, Cisco closed his eyes and sighed deeply. All he had wanted was to relax by himself, but Barry just had to ruin it. He tended to ruin a lot of things: one of them being just a little portion of Cisco's sanity.
"Cisco," his love said in a soft, surprised tone as he held up his wrist, looking at the joint. "Why-"
"Just let me go downstairs, Barry," Cisco said, gently reaching over and removing the hand from his wrist. Barry, however, kept ahold of the joint, but Cisco didn't care. He began to walk to the stairs, again, before the speedster grabbed underneath his upper arm, preventing him. Cisco glanced irritably up. "What?"
"Cisco," Barry started, pulling his friend back in a surprisingly gentle way, "what are you doing, man? You know how bad these are for you," he lectured in a soft voice, throwing the joint to the ground and crushing it under his foot.
Cisco shifted uncomfortably, hating to have to watch it go to waste. He also didn't care for the contact between himself and the speedster; Barry wasn't letting go, either. It made him nervous.
"I dunno," he grumbled his poor excuse for an answer, focusing his eyes on his feet, instead of the man he was talking to.
"Yes, you do," Barry scolded Cisco with a frown on his face. "Now, tell me," he commanded, "what on earth could possibly make you want to put your body at risk just so you could smoke a little weed?"
Cisco winced at the speedster's harsh tone, turning his head completely away as he felt the grip on his arm tighten a bit. He couldn't look his love in the eyes. He knew that he would see disappointment, and he genuinely didn't want that. He didn't want Barry to be disappointed in him, but that's what had ended up happening, anyway.
"Nothing," Cisco squeaked out, making a mental decision to not cry even a single tear. He couldn't tell Barry the reason why he came up to the roof and took drugs when no one was looking. He couldn't tell the Flash that he was in love with him.
He just couldn't.
Barry's eyes softened at his friend's broken voice, and let up his grip considerably. However, he still didn't remove his hand, as he didn't want Cisco trying to return to the stairs, again. "Hey, come on, man, you can tell me," he informed in a friendly way, smiling, even though he knew that Cisco couldn't see him.
"That's the thing, Barry. I can't tell you," Cisco stated loudly, turning back to face the hero. He harshly wrenched his arm out of Barry's grip, managing to look him dead in the eyes. "Can't you just respect that? Why do you need to know everything?!"
Barry sighed. "Because if I know what's wrong, then I can help you, Cisco. Look, I don't know if this is a habit or not, but if it is, then it needs to stop. I don't want you putting your body at risk, anymore. Just tell me what's wrong."
"You wanna know what's wrong?" Cisco snapped, pacing angrily, but never going farther than a few steps away from the speedster. "You're what's wrong, Barry!" He threw up his hands, suddenly beginning to laugh. However, it was not in a humorous way, rather, a frustrated, sarcastic tone.
Barry stared at him, obviously bewildered at his friend's snappy response. "What do you mean, I'm-"
"YOU!" Cisco yelled, throwing his arms up and continuing to walk frustratedly back and forth, back to Barry, and away from Barry.
"You're what's wrong!" Cisco repeated in a slightly higher voice, which he tended to involuntarily use whenever he became upset.
"You just have to go and be all perfect, all the time, and I'm stuck over here watching you live your stupid, perfect life, and just wishing I could be a part of it!" Cisco knew he was slipping drastically. He was aware in the back of his mind that if he didn't stop himself from talking within a few seconds, he would end up spilling his heart to his love, but that didn't stop him from continuing to yell at the hero.
"What do you mean, 'a part of it'?" Barry questioned, obviously not catching onto the message that Cisco was sending forth. "You are a part of it, dude. You're my best friend-"
"Not like that, you idiot!" Cisco cried out, beginning to feel frustrated with his Barry. He simply wished for the conversation to be over, but he had already begun to tell his feelings, and it felt as though it were impossible to stop. "I don't want to be 'just a friend'! Gah!" he yelled, angrily tugging on his hair. "I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR DAMN BOYFRIEND! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?"
Barry's eyes widened considerably. "Cis, what-" he was cut off by Cisco, again, who was giving him practically no time at all to process the mechanic's outbursts.
"I want you in my life! I want you to be there when I wake up, Barry! I just want what you and Iris have, but I can't have it because of her," he spoke the pronoun with unintentional bitterness. "I don't want to hate her, Barry, but I can't help it! If you two are going to keep flirting all the time, then at least start dating! I hate having to watch you two talk to each other like that!" Cisco practically screamed, tugging at his long, dark hair in utter frustration, and suddenly screamed hoarsely, "I love you, damn it!"
He did it.
He told the Flash he loved him.
And Cisco had never felt as though he had made such a wrong decision.
Barry was still in complete shock, but managed to ask a simple question: "You... love me?" He wasn't positive if he was understanding the situation, correctly.
The idea of Francisco Ramon loving him, the man that he loved, loving him back, the man that he told his best friend about, the man that he deliberately flirted with his best friends even though he is gay for. He did this for two reasons, to keep his love safe from bad guys, saying Iris agreed to be the one to ‘love him’ so they wouldn’t take Cisco for ransom and two, to keep his love off his trail, to keep him from finding out that the extra bit of love that he had been showing him through the past few movie nights and drunken bar hangouts was genuinely because he wanted to be his boyfriend.
But as these thoughts rushed into Barry’s head at Mach 4.5, Cisco collapsed on the concrete of the building. Barry quickly caught him, holding him near his body, letting his take in the warmth as his body was super cold and shivering.
A few minutes later Barry sped them to where Cisco had been standing when he came up there, curdling him a few feet away from the edge of the building so he could see the view and calm down.
After a while Cisco had stopped crying. Barry sat along side the building edge, barely four feet away from it, Cisco laid atop him, looking off the building the same way Barry did. Cisco pressed his back against Barry’s chest, allowing Barry to hold his waist
Although Cisco loved this position, Barry cuddling him, holding him, he hated the dreadful wait of what Barry would say. He hated the wait even though he knew what he would say. ‘Cisco I’m sorry but I’m not gay. We can still be friends though.’ Then Cisco would agree and then it would eat him up inside.
But as if on cue, right after Cisco thought about this, Barry broke the silence.
“Cisco?” He asked softly, not trying to sound mad, or confused or angry or any feeling he thought Cisco thought he might be feeling.
“Yes?” Cisco said hesitantly, contemplating if he should act like he was asleep or not. His voice just over a whisper, barley loud enough for Barry to hear.
“Can I tell you a secret?” Barry asked into Cisco’s ear which drove him crazy.
“Yes.” Cisco said curiously now. Barry looked at him profusely but Cisco didn’t dare to look back, afraid of what he might say.
“I love you too. I love you pretty face and you short body and your-“
Barry started to ramble.
“Not you don’t. You don’t have to lie to me to make me feel better, just.. tell me the truth.” Cisco cut him off before he could say anything else.
“But that is the truth. I love you with all my heart.” Barry said holding his waist tighter.
“No you don’t,” Cisco started, pulling his hands off his waist and leaning up the slightest bit, “you love Iris, and everyone knows it.”
“But what if I told you a different story? See, Iris knows I love you and to keep you out of harms way and to keep you from finding out that I love you, she flirts with me. She even told me that she didn’t care if she was the one to be stolen, she just wanted me happy.” Barry said cupping Cisco’s cheek and turning his head, forcing him to look at him.
“BUT I WANTED TO BE THE ONE STOLEN BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS YOU CARE ABOUT ME!” Cisco yelled, tears rushing down his face again. He pulled his face away from Barry’s almost falling off the building and Barry subconsciously pulled them back about 2 more feet.“I WANTED IT TO BE ME FLIRTING WITH YOU! I WANTED TO BE THE ONE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS YOU LOVE BECAUSE YOUR SO OBVIOUS! NOT HER!”
“BUT I DID IT ALL FOR YOU! DON’T YOU SEE! I WOULD HAVE GLADLY KISSED YOU IN PUBLIC! I WOULD HAVE GLADLY MADE IT KNOWN THAT—I LOVE YOU!” Barry said cupping Cisco’s face again and kissing him.
They stayed in that kiss for a while, Barry’s hands moving back down to Cisco’s waist, but this time instead of wrapping them around in a hug like formation, holding them in place and pulling him a tiny bit closer, closing the almost nonexistent gap. Cisco’s hands moving up to hold the back of Barry’s neck, pulling him even more close, literally the only room that was in between them was the space in between atoms.
They pulled away before the kiss could become passionate, looking into each others glassy eyes. Barry went up and cupped Cisco’s face again, wiping the tears away with his thumbs. They smiled at each other, settling the argument with a look: Barry did love Cisco and Cisco did love Barry.
“Hey, it’s late. We can go back to my place to night and work out the details in the morning okay?” Barry offered as he saw Cisco’s eyes getting heavy. Cisco nodded and Barry picked him up bridal style, speeding him home.
After a few minutes Cisco was fast asleep in Barry’s bed.
Epilogue:
Barry sat on the couch in his apartment living room and took his phone out of his pocket and called his best friend, Iris.
“Hey! When you never came back down we just thought you guys were talking since my dad said Cisco was really being himself today and went home!” Iris said in a slepy tone.
“No no- we’re fine. But look the craziest thing just happened to me!” Barry said quickly.
“What- did something bad happen-?” Iris asked panicked.
“No no- not bad but um- me and Cisco kissed…” Barry deadpanned, unable to contain his excitement.
“Wait really? Omg I’m so happy for you guys!” Iris said happily.
“Yeah, but we haven’t really ironed out the details yet or even made it official yet so keep it on the down low okay?” He asked softly.
“Okay… but was it a like ‘ in the moment’ kiss or ‘we just confessed to each other I want to kiss you now’ kiss?” Iris asked.
“Uh.. Both-kinda-but Cisco’s kinda asleep in my room, in my bed, right now so I’ll just text you the details because if I say it I might scream and wake him.” Barry responded.
“Wait HES IN YOUR BED!” Iris asked almost screaming.
“yeah but we didn’t like fuck or anything, he just looked tired and I didn’t want him to ya know, drive himself home so I brought him here.” Barry said quickly.
“Yeah yeah no no yeah yeah no no cool. Text me the deets!” Iris said before hanging up.
