During the whole special, MK believed in The king, he knew that he was fighting for control! He trusted him so much that during the 4th attempt to hit MK, he didn't flinch! He knew Wukong was heading towards him and he didn't turn his head for a second nor did he try to defend! Giving Wukong the strength he needed to break free! (God the hug after that was adorable qwq)

And not just MK, Monkey king also trusts in MK's strength! When the kid went to confront lbd Wukong was the one who stopped the others from interfering. Trusting that MK was more than capable on handling the situation!

And during the end, the whole apology scene was everything I wanted to see! At first I thought MK was gonna be the one to start the conversation, but I'm really happy that Monkey king approached him instead. He was aware that he messed up and that he could obviously tell that the kid was still somewhat upset about it. He knows he's a bad mentor and honestly idk why people expect him to be amazing at it.

This is the monkey king we're talking about! The same guy that made an entire mess up in the celestial realm cause he wanted to be called "great sage equal to heaven". He still has a long way to go to be able to learn how to properly teach but he will try! He's trying for his kid. It's good that they finally got the time to talk about it cause that will make their bond even stronger now!(also the fact that he said "I'm sorry MK" and not bud is so sweet qwq) Honestly I'm a big sucker for parent-child relationships especially when they play it right and when the characters are to die for x3

what got you into start watching jjk anime ?

my sister! it was in 2020, back then when the anime was still very new. i have a bad tendency to say, “yeah, sure i’ll watch/read/listen to it,” but i’ll hold off from doing the thing like it’s a task i absolutely don’t wanna do. but the thing is, i actually did wanna watch it, my brain just…held me from actually doing it. (thank u, autism.) then, a couple weeks later, i saw a satosugu edit on twt and decided to finally check it out. then i fell into a rabbit hole. yeah!

Yet at the same time, too many deaths in this manga already displayed that notion (esp. from Mahito), and for it to happen to another critical character? Like I get the poetic nuances of it all, I really do, and ngl I saw it coming. But the way it was executed with these leaks....idk man, I'm down to talk more about it, rn me and twt are still trying to fully comprehend it 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

Actually, to be honest, Mao @'d me in a video today & that's also been all that's on my mind in between my ability to watch stuff. I almost started crying by how cute it was. I've watched it quite a few times over.

It dealt with the first time Koga came upon Rei. The artist made it prior to the release of the Backdoor Pamphlet. That came out end of last year, but the video they made was done in like 2020. So of course there's some differences between the new canon information, but it is still very close in what could be taken from the information at the time.

So it showed Koga with tickets going to a concert. With the new information, he just snuck into the Livehouse without paying to see Rei, until he got caught. But it was still very much definitely how Koga would have been that very first time he saw Rei on stage. Even if the difference was that Rei would just go sing at the Underground Livehouse, no concert or anything in place, but for sure the first time Koga laid his eyes on Rei up there on stage singing, he would've immediately flushed in his cheeks & got hit by that DOKIDOKI.

After all, we still know Koga was mesmerized by Rei's vocals, finding them to be very sexually appealing, even more than any girl he's ever known, and he never felt LONELY when he went to the Livehouse to listen to Rei. Koga was beginning to feel crushed by his growing loneliness. Sure, he wasn't actually alone by any means, he had his parents who adopted Leon as a puppy, which Leon gave him more attention than his parents did. But he felt overwhelmingly lonely.

Just being able to see Rei on stage was more than enough for him. He fell in love with Rei up there on stage, and eventually came to love Rei for Rei, no matter how Rei came to be.

so there were a bunch of theories after vol1 drop (we didn't call them gates then) and after vol2 they all started to get fleshed out and with the joke of "watergate" made by dustin (and vecna opening all those gates) we just kinda adopted it for different theories for season 5 or analysis about byler or season 4

scriptgate: this is the non show related one. so 8flix is a site that like gives scripts to people/public (film students use it etc) and there was a gofundme to donate to 8flix and like you would get your email signed up on the list and then the stranger things script sent you. the first one was episode 8 (vol2) basically it was supposed to come early august. like august 3rd or something i do not remember exactly but nick (8flix guy) got a lot more people on his email list than ever, and he wanted to do it one by one rather than a big release so we waited like 3 days or so (THIS TIME PERIOD IS SO ICONIC HONESTLY HILARIOUS SO MANY MUTUALS MADE.) there was like people drinking sangrias, i made a pizza, people were making crafts in the tag, it was a big sleepover. very fun, each time it got delayed it was funnier and funnier 😭. anyways we finally got the scripts (but at what cost) and they were so fuckinf depressing there was not a dry eye in the house. will said "i hate who i am" and nancy said "jonathan who?" it was terrible. and a couple days later stranger writers basically implied they were fake. like they were fake scripts. AND THEN EVERYONE TURNED ON NICK. it was a big thing but basically he was saying they weren't fake, and there's 2 big theories: that either he had very early scripts or just a bad source. anyways netflix said he could keep posting them as long as it wasn't revealing anything that wasn't already known (spoilers for season 5 i guess) (worth noting that when nick got his acc hacked on twitter "he" said shit like he was gonna name his source and 2 actors had confirmed the scripts. he was hacked so ignore this. i believe him at least)

pocket gate: finn mentioned this in the hair chair before the st costume designers said this but, they made him a custom shirt (the iconic one for season 4.) few things to know! the pocket opens sideways, it looks like there could be something in it (because it never creases), the costume designers used triangle imagery on robin because of its meaning to the queer community and the pocket is a blue square with a grey triangle, and the pocket was mostly pointing towards will the entire season, will was always on mikes left! very few times was it pointing towards anyone else

Someone on twt was saying how MekBalloon were terrible for each other and together. Idk if it's just me, or because I love the establishment and and the "of course" of them, but (regardless of the show's direction and production and etc) I always thought they were such a great couple. Like their personalities and their story together and the implication that they worked it out at the end... I just love them a lot. (They didn't talk about the kiss so it didn't happen).

MEKBALLOON.

It’s been a long time since I saw Once Upon a Time, so forgive me for doing this from memory but!

So I think you and I are on the same page, Anon. I love MekBalloon, and I think they had great potential, and I was really excited for their episode because “one of us is closeted and one of us wishes we could be openly affectionate” is one of my favorite premises for queer stories. (Partially why SOTUS S and Dark Blue Kiss are still in my top five.)

I don’t agree that they’re terrible for each other, but that’s less because I think they’re healthy and more because I think we don’t know enough about them to judge in any direction, which is the writing’s fault. 👀

Most Thai BL series don’t seem to be passion projects. BL is a profit-generating machine right now, so of course it’s gonna be rare for all the elements of loving detail, abundant production window, and generous budget to overlap. Of the series that are passion projects, many are likely to struggle with at least one major issue. Maybe the casting isn’t right, the script wasn’t tightly edited, or the production just didn’t have the budget for thorough workshops that would really nail the characters and their chemistry. There’s usually at least one big problem that prevents it from feeling like a stand-alone hit. Not Me didn’t have the script editing it deserved, so it lost sight of several plot elements it needed to deliver on its ambitious premise; Dark Blue Kiss has a high barrier of entry for new fans, and it doesn’t stand on its own particularly well; The Eclipse lost its deliberate pacing and threw way too much at the audience all at once toward the end; etc. (I love all three of those, to be clear! My special adoration of PeteKao, SunMork, DanYok, and AyanAkk is well documented.)

Off the top of my head, there’s only a vanishingly few series that I’d point to and say, “That was well-crafted all around, and I’d recommend that to a new person.” Those are: My School President, I Told Sunset About You, SOTUS, aaand Triage. (Until We Meet Again and Between Us are my favorites from a character standpoint, but SWS is a li’l studio and they’ve struggled with a lot of production aspects—BU more than UWMA.)

My School President comes across as a well-developed, smart series in which most of the characters were given considerable thought and the actors were given time to explore and connect with them.

Until We Meet Again gave me the same impression, which is why it’s so much fun to write fic for them; the characters are fantastic and nuanced.

I’ll never shut up about SOTUS if I start praising it.

Same with Triage.

Where 7Project fell completely apart for me was where most series fall apart for me: 1) the writing, and 2) the lack of character depth. (So, y’know, 90% of what it needed to reach beyond the actors’ core fanbase.)

I really liked MekBalloon, but I’m pretty sure most of my affection came from finding BounPrem generally charismatic and fun to watch. I think they were profoundly underserved as actors by their episode, especially Boun.

Balloon is the oldest child burdened with his father’s expectations and is terrified of coming out, but he manages to remain a dependable older brother who loves and protects his younger siblings, one of whom is also gay and struggling with bullying.

Mek is…kind, I guess? Wants to be in open relationship with his boyfriend. Has been patient with Balloon’s circumstances for years. He doesn’t have a family, but we don’t know when or how he lost them. That lets us know that his boyfriend is all he has, but the narrative doesn’t seem to sympathize very much with him. And yes, the kiss was weird. I still remember as the episode was airing, the SWS cast and director were on Twitter going, “OH NOOOO??? DON’T MURDER BOUUUUN TEEHEE,” so to this day I’m pretty sure they just threw that in for shock value and there was zero character motivation for it. I vaguely remember New tweeting something like, “Cheating is always bad even when you’re hurt.” So I guess that’s the reason? Mek’s feelings were hurt by Balloon reminding him that his parents are dead, so he kissed someone else. Like, they easily could have made that conversation something like, “It’s difficult being in a same-sex relationship when society pressures you to be closeted. Being with a woman would be easier, but I’ve never been with a woman.” Or something like that. Anything but the half-baked nothing they actually gave us.

I promise I like MekBalloon, Anon! I just have a lot of opinions, and 7Project was so underwhelming that hardly anyone talks about it anymore, so: word vomit.

What I’m saying is that they weren’t fully formed characters, so I can’t really shovel too deep. They don’t have enough internal consistency for one thing. Like, Balloon goes from “huh where’s my sister” to “YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A FAMILY YOU FILTHY ORPHAN” and??? What are we meant to take away from that? It’s clearly framed as a shock to Mek, but Mek didn’t say or do anything to trigger a response like that. Balloon’s under pressure from closeting himself, so why is his trigger his missing sister and not, like, Mek cuddling him while their friends are approaching? There were so many opportunities to make this an evocative story and I’m gently screaming at whoever edited this (assuming it was edited, which it might not have been).

That all said! I wrote two fics about them because they absolutely had potential! I think ultimately the premise of a couple struggling with closeting and BounPrem’s legendary chemistry was enough to hold it above water. BounPrem deserve a bonus every time they agree to act in anything. ✨

i’m convinced for about 90% that they’re really a thing and it makes me sick to my stomach, i feel a headache coming. i cried, been going from denial to anger to bargaining and the cycle repeats hfjdjfh :(

it pisses me off how their companies are not saying anything about this like if it’s true (god i so hope not) then their artists’ privacy and safety are in danger. like it could be that someone hacked her phone cuz it sure looked like she took it herself and the other being she posted it somewhere like her priv ig or smth or sent it to whoever then one of her friends decided to go behind her back for some drama and cash.

it’s also getting super suspicious how bh, who denies rumors IMMEDIATELY is silent about this when this rumor about tae and jennie has been going on for months and there’s no escaping this especially in korea like?;?/)?

ik tae isn’t obligated to say anything but the fact that he too is dead silent (which is so not him cuz if he doesn’t like smth he’ll let us know asap) when he went to weverse mad (i mean who wouldn’t be) and basically cussed everybody out for saying dumb stuff between him and that joana girl

ahhh, i... hm. i saw the pictures, and i’m like 90% sure they’re edits, babe. but even if they weren’t... i think us fans should really keep in mind that those men won’t stay single for their fans all their lives (unless they want to). i understand that u have this type of love for them – i guess we all have developed some kind of attachment to them.

but. if they date someone, it’s their decision, and as fans, we can do nothing about it. one day they might get married and have children... one day hybe and bts will stop denying all rumours and make a statement about their partners or whatever, and when that day comes, we should be happy for them.

i know a lot of people are upset cos it’s jennie the rumour’s about, but honestly. i have faith in tae and believe he knows what he’s doing – he’s an emotional guy, he understands feelings well. so we’ll have to trust him and be happy if he’s happy. whether it’s with her or with someone else someday... we know he wants a life like this.

i really know where you’re coming from, but try to see it from this perspective, okay? try not to analyse his or hybe’s behaviour too much – just remember he’s a person, too. be happy for him, or he might never be able to open up. distract urself, hydrate, keep urself busy. it’ll be okay 🤍
