I saw someone say the rat grinders were disappointing as villains because of how easy they’ve been to take down, but as a criticism for d20. But I think the rat grinders being anticlimactic is kind of the point? They didn’t but the work in, they took shortcuts and so they’re not doing well. I personally find them getting their asses beat to be so satisfying. They picked a fight they can’t win so yeah half of them are already dead.
That’s the point.

Tuvok & Seven co-parenting the borg children should've been real and canon like it is in my heart. It makes sense that Seven suggests Neelix as a good possible caregiver but with how ready Tuvok was to take responsibility for Tressa in 'Innocence' it seems to me like such a wasted opportunity that he doesn't really seem involved at all with the Borg children. With my ha-ha glasses on, there's comedic potential in their dynamic and I think certain people on the ship would hint that it might be the catalyst for a romance but there is 0 romance between them. They're both such proud, I'm-better-than-you type people and I know they'd have strong opinions on how to raise the Borg children that sometimes conflict. 'My Ex-Borg Drone is an Honor Student' type PTA parents. The potential for Tuvok being the (comparatively) more easygoing one is also quite funny. Also, with my sincerity goggles on, I can easily imagine Seven becoming overwhelmed with the sudden responsibility of caring for four children. I understand that everyone on Voyager sort of cares for all the children but Seven is placed as their primary guardian/mother-figure which is a lot to put on someone who's only been fully sentient for a few years herself. Just learned how to eat solid foods semi-recently and now she's a single mom? I think there could be an episode where Seven is clearly struggling with managing four children, her own work duties, her desire to be alone/pursue her own interests, and everyone's expectations for her (womanhood, humanity etc). No one's behind malicious but it's a lot of critiques coming from all sides. Then one evening she's working in astrometrics before someone...B'Elanna? Comes in for some work thing and is like "So, how did the bedtime story go?" because the kids were excited for Seven to read them to sleep and Seven's like I Have To Go Right Now so she rushes to the cargo bay expecting to see a lot of disappointed faces but instead Tuvok's in there, reading aloud. Tuvok gestures for her to stay quiet and finishes the last line. Mezoti, the last clinger-on, finally lets herself regenerate. Seven and Tuvok talk in his quarters about how difficult Seven's been finding the task of essentially raising four kids because I think she'd put a lot pressure on herself because of her personality + Janeway's expectations since she was the one who said Seven should be their guardian. I also think she'd be bewildered by not being able to do this 'task' efficiently. Tuvok talks about how he also found the experience of being a father difficult and bewildering, and he only had one child at the start. He encourages Seven to rely even more on others, that it won't make anyone think less of her for "not being able to handle it" and gives examples from his own life. He makes a point to tell her about how Janeway also helped from time to time - covering his shift or picking up one of his kids etc, to show Seven that he doesn't believe Janeway wants her to try to do everything alone. Seven thinks about this for the night. The next day, in the mess hall, she suggests in front of everyone "We should raise the children together. As a unit." Tuvok's confused. Seven says she noticed a lot of responsibility was shared between Tuvok and his wife. A parental unit. It also leaves the children with another primary caregiver in case one of them dies. ("Dies?" Mezoti asks so Tuvok pulls Seven away). Tuvok tries to explain that he meant more 'it takes a village' (in his Vulcan way) but Seven is like "You like the children. You've raised children. You are reliable. You are more knowledgeable in certain aspects of this general process while I possess superior knowledge of their unique ex-Borg needs. You told me to rely on others. The children can't stop talking about story time. Are you in?" and Tuvok, somewhat dazed, agrees. Seven says Good. Then she leaves. Tom claps Tuvok on the shoulder. "Congratulations, Dad!"

The himbo, malewife, goofball -fication of percy jackson is such a crime by both the fans and riordan. It has made Mr not like percabeth as a couple because in all posts and in later books annabeth is such a girlboss, while Percy's dumb and can't fight his way out of a paperbag without her. All the posts are about how annabeth will be an architect and percy would love to be a trophy husband.
Even the humor in the books went from Percy's sharp wit and snark to 'my pancakes can't drown because I'm a son of poseidon.'
And now this recommendation letter bullshit.
Honestly now I'd wish percy just separated from annabeth (but they remain best friends.) He stays home with his family, becomes a camp counselor, helps young demigods, holds God's accountable and eventually becomes a social activist. (I also dislike him doing something marine biology related. It's clear he hates academics but he always wants to help people. Him helping demigods and mortals is such a wholesome profession for him.)
I fully agree with the first half of this, though I slightly disagree with part of the latter.
The later-series and fanon mischaracterization of Percy is at least a solid 50% ableism minimum, full stop. He's being warped into a very stereotyped ADHD character and the exact reason why he's being characterized as "dumb" is because of ableism. Percy is a very intelligent character! That's exactly why he's so in sync with Annabeth and they're such a strong duo! It's just generally Annabeth is more book/academically smart.
I disagree with where you say he hates academics - because that's one of the common misconceptions about his character. Percy doesn't hate learning or academic subjects! He's not even bad at them! We know explicitly that when he is in an accommodating environment he is interested in learning and gets significantly better grades! Percy only dislikes school because it is generally an environment that systematically he struggles with. It's literally just he has a learning disability (two, actually)! That's it! When his learning disability is accommodated for he does well! It's almost like that's what accommodations are all about! We know this from the first series! It's discussed pretty in-depth! Percy isn't a dumb character and he doesn't hate learning, he's just been let down by school systems so much that he's inherently distrustful of them. If they actually accommodate him though then he does just fine!
And that's exactly what CHB was all about and why New Rome University was supposed to be such a big thing for him! CHB is a learning environment geared for demigods. NRU is a demigod college. Both inherently imply an environment meant to cater to and accommodate students with ADHD and dyslexia! They are both systematically structured to be able to accommodate him! Heck, CHB and CJ even both address in the wider themes of the series a metaphor about how ADHD and dyslexia are commonly seen as childhood disabilities, and how it can be more difficult to find accommodations into adulthood because of that attitude but those disabilities don't just go away - that's why CHB is a summer camp but they talk about how demigods outside of CHB don't often fare well. The metaphor there is those who are not getting help or accommodations are struggling. Because that's how that works! This is a fully intentional metaphor from the first series! CHB is never framed as being perfect for demigods, because one of the entire central conflicts of the series is Percy and Luke going back and forth about this flawed system meant to help and support them but still letting people fall through the cracks. The "claim your kids by 13" thing is a metaphor about how acknowledging a child's disabilities (and possibly getting a diagnosis) earlier/as early as possible means they will have more time to learn and build up resources and support for themselves to be able to use later in life. One of CHB's major flaws is that it can accommodate demigods to a certain point, but it can only do so much before those demigods have to leave (the metaphor being accommodating school systems when those disabled students do not have any other forms of accommodations in their lives.)
And that's why Camp Jupiter was framed as being so revolutionary for Percy because it had an environment acknowledging that this is not just a childhood disability, adults with ADHD/dyslexia exist too and still need and deserve accommodations, AND is a place where those accommodations are available. That's why Camp Jupiter and NRU are treated as such special and important things to Percy, because it's essentially Percy being shown this type of thing can and does exist and it is available to him. It is an option he never thought was possible. Percy never thought he'd be able to go to college because he would not be able to go through school without accommodations, but NRU proves otherwise.
The part that's absolutely stupid is Rick then proceeded to retcon NRU so that apparently it's not a full college and Percy still has to take classes at normal mortal college which DEFEATS THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF NRU EXISTING. Rick has fully retconned that demigods struggle past the ages of 16-18 when they're on their own (see above elaborated metaphors) and in doing so we have fully killed all symbolism in literally all of that. It's so stupid. And by having the plot of the CoTG trilogy entirely be that Percy is not actually allowed access to NRU in the first place because he is a son of Poseidon and has to do extra to even be accepted is stupid!
All that to say, I agree the marine biology feels like a huge cop-out and a disservice to his character by reducing him to just a son of Poseidon. The literal only reason why it's the default option people take for him is because oh, fish thing, fish guy. But I feel like everyone ignores the really obvious answer for what Percy would want to do which is - writing. Both his parents are writers/authors and he clearly admires that about them. Percy likes telling stories! He canonically is already a published author in-universe! That's what the books ARE in-universe! The first series fully exists in their universe and Percy is the author! This is explicit canonical information! Percy canonically has help physically writing it down (accommodations) but he is still the credited author! Percy is a writer! Already! Canonically! Why are we making him a marine biologist he already has a profession that ties into his character significantly more. Like you said, Percy likes helping people. That's what the books in-universe are supposed to be for! It's point blank at the beginning of the series! Book one! The thing everybody quotes all the time! The books exist because it is Percy trying to give advice to other demigods who don't know what's going on yet! It's Percy's writing down his experiences to help new demigods understand and contextualize their experiences so they can understand themselves better and figure out what's going on - WHICH IN ITSELF IS ALSO A METAPHOR ABOUT ADHD/DYSLEXIA! Because the core of the series has and always will be built around ADHD/dyslexia! Percy as a protagonist EXPLICITLY was created so that ADHD/dyslexic kids could see themselves as a hero!
Sorry that all was a very tangential rant but my point being: Absolutely. Percy in newer stuff in the franchise and in fanon is horrifically mischaracterized in ways that are functionally either fully ableist (shoutout TSATS for just outright claiming Percy is intentionally lazy and skips school out of disinterest, which is like the number one ableist attitude towards kids with learning disabilities) or a complete erasure of Percy's disabilities. Also I think he should be a writing major not a marine biologist.

boyf and i have discovered that our brains have such different approaches to speaking. his words are automatic whereas mine are manual. he doesnt think about what words to put in what order. all he just says stuff. he starts speaking a sentence and never knows where hes gonna end up. he will have whole conversations on autopilot while zoned out. he often just blurts out stuff without meaning to. i have to labour over every word and really struggle with speaking on the fly. i end up buffering a lot in unfamiliar interactions. when i’ve been socialising for a while and get tired my brain just kinda flatlines and thinking up words to say out loud becomes almost impossible. i have literally never just blurted out words accidentally. i cant even imagine how that works lmao

This song is on my Peepaw playlist purely for the fact that every time I hear it all I can think of is Future Leo reflecting on his past self. There would deffo be some anger and frustration there to want to tell him to "get his act together" and to just listen or something uvu

One of the funniest interactions on replay is Isabeau Friendship Quest pre doing it the first time and you ask Loop about it.
-
Isabeau: I need time to figure out what we can do!
Siffrin: Oh! It must be super serious and complicated.
(Later if you ask Loop)
Loop: I wonder what he wants to do. It must be difficult and complicated.
Siffrin: (That's what I was thinking!!!)
-
And you know, for the most part, Loop is actually really good at breaking down Siffrin's thought process so he can't hide from their own brain, and when you play the first time, this interaction is just "haha they both thought the same thing" but NO!!! They were BOTH being obliviously Siffrin about it and rotating the same braincell!!!

Good afternoon! I really like your art, especially with Nikolai. I don't often see any content on it, and that's why it's very nice to see. Can I ask you how you draw hair and other items of clothing? It's just that in the future I also want to practice drawing to draw my favorite characters. 🌹
Hi there thank you! :D
Uhhh I tried my best to compile my way of drawing things, take this as a reference because I'm not a professional by any means and a lot of things I do are very much simplified and dialled down to fit my chibi style :3 but I'm flattered that you ask me, I like sharing my process sometimes!
alright first off with hair, we'll take Nik for example. For me I usually try to make sure the hair flows from the same origin (refer the red arrow on chibi Nik), this will make sure the hair looks consistent and neat. For me I usually like to add more volume and floff to hair to make it cuter (exaggerated feature), so I do that by making the hair thicker or more curly. What really brings the hair together imo is the side burn, all the cod characters have it so study how they look like (like how Price's one will be connected to his beard, while Nik's end in a neat line). Lastly, look at the characters and ask yourself what are their prominent features? Like for Soap, it's his mohawk. For Nik? It'll be his high widow's peak and the neat slick back look. If it is hard to draw it yourself, trace over the reference photo to get an idea, then draw it yourself again on the side, it'll allow your hand to recognize the shape and flow better.
Hair can be individualized according to your own artstyle, for example @/nekrosmos (hi hehe) draw Nik's end of the hair curling inwards (link of the example). Studying other artist's way of drawing characters can help ease the process of finding your own, if ya wanna look at Nik fanart I highly recommend @/shkretart's page (example used is from here) (also would recommend their post about how they draw heads here, because from there you can see how they plot down the shape of the hair as well)
Tumblr media
also! something I like to do is showing the character's emotions through hair as well :3
example:
Tumblr media
see how the Price in lower opacity has his hair jagged because he's horrified by the taste of shamrock + my OC dishevelled hair because she's cranky/angry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
uhhh when it comes to clothes I don't really have much advice because I....don't draw a lot of variety of clothings XD
Tumblr media
I think most importantly if you can get the torso shape correctly the clothings wouldn't be much of an issue since ya can just follow references (see 2nd photo with the square + inverted triangle method, reference used: valiants, pignk). Like the hair, I just take the what I think are prominent features of an outfit then remove the gear (see Ghost below for example).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the only thing I can comment on are creases?? even so I'm still a newbie at this but yeah again, tracing over images to study them is what I do most of the time, especially when I'm doing a non-chibi art. Whenever I feel like the sleeves looks weird, I try to find a similar pose, draw over the crease, see what went wrong then implement it on my own art. I think what really changed my mind was it's not just about the lines of the clothes inside, you should take account of the creases that creates the fold on the outline. You can watch this video by emiliodekureart if you want a more detail explanation! (I follow a lot of their tutorials cuz it's simplified and easy to understand and follow :3) (another ref is Morpho Clothing folds and creases if you wanna learn in depth)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, say you got the torso, shape and creases down, what's next? Textures! the way you add details or color a clothing can make small but noticeable differences. Here's how I approach a clothing using my commission works as examples below.
Similar to hair, first I see what's the most obvious feature of the reference photo which are the pattern lines and patterns. Usually with wool or animal fur or any material that's fuzzy I like to add the " lines to my doodles.
Tumblr media
For this example we're looking at suits, so the materials are usually harder that's why the edges of the clothes will be sharper (see Ghost's shoulder ends and elbows). Add in details like lines/patterns to show different materials. Sometimes you can overlay the shades with textures, which all can be found online to add that feel to it, yk? (like Soap's pants and this hat)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lastly, you can always change the way you want to draw based on the references, you don't have to follow it 100%, scroll through sites to find one you like and tweak it!
Tumblr media
hope these are helpful!

archive dive #2: the comedy of errors (2000)
so this one is. A mess LMAO like god is it so fucking funny and entertaining in some areas but so terrible in some others. i was expecting some outdatedness, bc some of it is kind of inextricable from the source material, but some of it has to do with stuff purely on the adaptation side as well. this was still a very well done production on the technical side: acting, staging, pacing, tone, and costumes/music (with some exceptions). compared to as you like it, i feel like this production is really accessible in that you could show this to someone completely unfamiliar w/ shakespeare and they'd be able to understand everything. however there are some very problematic elements re: the setting and some side characters that really weigh it down looking at it now (which i think is helpful to know for anyone going into this blind!) and i think it's pretty worthwhile to dissect it with a critical eye. also: the audio for the cds gets super crackly esp for the middle of act 2 so if anyone else is visiting stratford maybe try the alternate archive copy

i find it interesting how different the antipholuses feel in terms of personality. the dromios are pretty similar but like. dt's antipholus of syracuse is sort of a funny weird loser that gets weak in the knees for any attractive woman he sees. anthony howell's antipholus of ephesus is like this humorless and kind of scarily violent man. and even though they're twins the former feels younger than the latter to me? also you can see the difference in their personalities in the dynamics w/ their dromios too; the syracusians feel more like brothers/friends while the ephesians feel like master and servant
the comedy of errors really is a whole play shakespeare wrote about your secret evil twin being real and fucking up your life except as the play rolls on it becomes clear to the audience you are the evil twin and your twin is just stupid and horny and cringefail
the biggest problem w this production is its really blatant orientalism that gets basically played for laughs/spectacle. specifically: the portrayals of the first + second merchants and the courtesan all kinda vary from "extremely stereotypical" to "racist caricature" (also i think the actor for the first merchant is white???). the courtesan was already a problematic character but adding that racialized element and how she's portrayed as this magically alluring, very sexualized woman that nearly every man in the play falls for... makes it worse, definitely. and also some bad choices being made re: the music cuz in act 1 the vibe seems to be "smooth jazz" (which i absolutely loved) and then for moments in act 2 when the syracusians are like "oh fuck this is a weird cursed land full of witches trying to tempt us", (and when they're being chased with swords by the second merchant and friends) the music shifts towards a middle-eastern-inspired sound and it's like. ok. free me
luce seems to be split off and made into an original character i think? bc she's a side character that kicks off the play and isn't dressed like a kitchen maid meanwhile dromio of ephesus' fiancé never actually appears. that's one way to try to solve the racism in the text i suppose but it is a shame the production had to cook up its whole separate category of issues outside of this
one thing i will give this production re: optics is how they lean really far into the implication that antipholus of ephesus has been cheating on adriana—this is what i thought when i was originally reading through the play (up until the bit where adriana gets reprimanded by lady abbess for being a hysterical paranoid woman driving her husband into insanity because she's constantly assuming he's being unfaithful). in this production though it's just straight up shown that antipholus of ephesus is cheating on her and her paranoia was completely valid and i think that was a really good choice. adriana even gets to slap him! she still absolutely needs to get a divorce though
dromio of syracuse speaking through an intercom to the ephesians in act 3 scene 1 was super fucking funny, i know in the original they don't see his face either but there's something about the way they did it here that made me lose it
i love the way the syracusians play off of each other, they are probably my favorite thing about the production. dt and ian hughes have a LOT of comedic chemistry together. like the whole "she is spherical" bit is real unfunny in itself but at the start of it where dromio says the line over and over again while david breaks character and says to the audience "got that?" and "calm down there's loads more of this to get through" made me genuinely laugh! (atennantcytoact has an audio clip of it here)
also the moment where antipholus of syracuse leans over on his dromio's shoulder and then dromio makes antipholus bend his knees so he can lean on him back (bc antipholus is so tall by comparison). really really good and i love it. communicates the dynamic between the syracusians v well
the sound effects for the golden chain. Lmfao
the "i buy a thousand pound a year i buy a rope!" line being repeated by dromio of ephesus over and over like it's a really funny joke that nobody understands absolutely killed me bc of how the actual folger annotation for that line was "dromio's indignant exit line has not been satisfactorily explained"
antipholus of syracuse is like "i'm not arguing with an attractive woman coming my way, whatever you say beautiful, please step on me" and antipholus of ephesus is like "i'm going to cheat on my wife and then i'm going to plan to domestically abuse her because i think she's cheating on me back"
a personal highlight of mine is antipholus of syracuse at the start of act 4 scene 3 where he's starting to freak the fuck out over everything that is happening. like it's so fucking funny. you poor thing, splashing water on your face. if you had a working braincell you would connect the dots. also makes great use of david tennant's talent for playing a character that is losing their fucking mind
also (shown in the image at the top of the post) dromio of syracuse's entrance in this scene to the funky jazz music wielding an umbrella and wearing the trenchcoat and sunglasses. it's so fucking good. i could watch it one billion times
i wish the audio didn't cut out when the syracusians came in with the swords because it looked like it was one of the best scenes in the play
the part at the end where the gang figures out what went down over the course of the whole story after discovering there are two antipholuses and two dromios was really well done. it was one of the least entertaining parts of the play when i was just reading it but seeing it play out was actually super fun, seeing all the reactions + the production fully leaning into the ridiculousness of the story/characters, was rly good
also the two sets of twins still getting mixed up by everyone even when they're standing right next to each other was such a good bit and it never got old
the audience "awww"ing at the hugs between the twins at the end... honestly, so true! i also felt a bit fuzzy at that! even for antipholus of ephesus! even if he is pretty terrible i'm glad he found his brother. maybe he can grow and change as a person after this, i have hope for him (adriana still needs to leave him though)

Today, April 4th, is World Rat Day, and to celebrate, the funny Noise is wearing his Thursday best!
Seeing as I drew and modded a custom sheep outfit into Pizza Tower just last year, it only felt appropriate to ring in my first celebrated World Rat Day by modding a Brick-inspired outfit into the Playable Noise update! 🐀✨
(Check under the cut to see a selection of in-game screenshots I took of the Noise wearing the Ratty Rags clothes, as well as a special bonus to top it all off!)

(What's your take on the Hexcore's manipulation? Personally, I'm a fan of the "Not Quite Mind Control" approach-it manipulated Viktor heavily, but it never controlled him. The Hexcore toyed with his inhibitions and emotions, brought out his worst thoughts and impulses, and acted as an echo chamber, but it never controlled him. (Theoretically, he could have stopped what he was doing at any point-but out of a combination of guilt and feeling in control of his life, he didn't want to stop.) It never forced him to do anything.
No, Viktor probably wouldn't have made those choices if he wasn't being manipulated by the Hexcore, but he was still himself. Manipulated or not, he still chose to do all those things-and he has to live with that.)
(I just really like the "Not Quite Mind Control" trope.)
hmmm its. complicated. like ok give a second to go on this little side tangent, i do need to explain my thoughts on this because i have no idea what the FUCK is going on with the hexcore and the wild rune and the arcane.
like ok Viktor accidentally bleeds on the wild rune at the gates and it gives him a vision of the Hexcore. he makes the hexcore, accidentally gets his blood on that (neither is his fault but this has gotta stop happening man). and it merges with his dna and forms some kinda mental connection with him and becomes sentient. but like. what does it want exactly? at first it's just to fuse with viktor. and then when it gets to do that it wants him to "heal" people and basically spread it's magic to others. alright but uh. why? because i genuinely cannot figure out what the hexcore was trying to accomplish. i remember their being an interview that when "sky" disappears the hexcore's purpose is complete and thus is not needed anymore. ok but WHAT PURPOSE!!! if prolonging it's existence isn't the main goal, then what is? it has a goal that viktor isn't aware of, so what does it serve exactly? what is it trying to do? spread the arcane? does the arcane have enough of a will to want that? can it have a will? a consciousness? is the hexcore trying to give the arcane a consciousness through viktor and/or the hivemind? has viktor inadvertently become the arcane's consciousness and the hexcore is trying to help him become more powerful?? is the arcane/hexcore trying to get rid of the barrier between it and the rest of normal realm? why? and why could it not use other mages for that purpose? does it need the wild rune? but like why? what does the concept of the wild rune and the anomaly have to do with each other? i thought wild runes were naturally apart of the arcane so how can it also be the anomaly?? i dont. i dont get it. maybe i missed something but i just dont know. whatever explanation i can come up with is something i can never say is canon because they just straight dont say or even imply what it could be. so know that everything im saying from here on out is my own fucked up interpretation/theory of whats going on
i see the hexcore as like. a Kyubey type entity. its not actively evil or malicious, it just doesnt feel. it has goal (even though i dont know WHAT THAT GOAL IS!!!) and it will accomplish that goal by any means necessary. it cannot force Viktor to do anything, but it can do everything in it's power to get him to do what it wants. dampening his emotions in his physical form so it's an easier cut from Jayce and piltover, causing these halluncations that actively lead him to where it wants him to go, using Sky's form as a way to exploit his guilt and his loneliness, taking advantage of every insecurity and every dream to help other people to spread the "healing" magic, etc etc. technically it never forced him to do anything, but between Viktor no longer being in his right mind and the hexcore orchestrating everything within his power to control him and the reality around him, it's hardly a real choice.
speaking viktor's mental state, he's uh. he's not doing well. between dying and coming back to life, jayce's betrayal (both the weapons and being fused to the hexcore) and then his disappearance, the war decimating his city, the guilt around Sky and seeing her constantly, and having the thing you feared the most happen to you at the hand of someone you love...yeah not good. like thats gotta fuck someone up in general.
and even ignoring all the inherent trauma that comes from being viktor arcane, there's the fact that like. you cant force a human mind and soul into divinity and NOT expect there to be consequences. the entirety of the arcane is pouring into his mind, and even with the filter from the hexcore, it's gotta have an effect on him. stretched a human's soul into the form of a god, trying to understand concepts and truths he wasn't meant to comprehend, and you cant be surprised when he goes a little insane.
to put it lightly he is NOT in his right mind nor does he actually know the potential consequences of what he's doing. He's certainly at fault for a lot but i have a hard to saying he's entirely at fault for everything because he was so mentally fucked up and a lot of what happened forced upon him or happened through manipulation. he certainly fucks up but good lord he should not have been in charge of a tamagotchi let alone the fate of the world
but (assuming he survives post canon. which i AM) i don't think he'd really even care. He's already got a fuck ton of self hatred and self worth issues and the guilt is suffocating. there are thousands of people dead because he let himself believe the hexcore's lies and that he could help people like this. People came to him for help and he stole their humanity and killed them. even if he hadn't mean to, even if he didn't know it doesn't bring them back. it doesnt undo the damage. he almost ended the world and killed jayce and that was entirely his choice. it was still all by his hand and he has to live with that fact
