i hate when i do this thing where i say something i don’t think is offensive or off color at all and then people react either by laughing in my face or by pointing out that it’s totally offensive

I hate the way that life gives me people to watch over me, and then makes those people claim to know what’s best for me, and make them claim they know me, and then they use what’s “best for me” and what they “know about me” to tear me apart…
Because what is life without misery hahah

I love the way that, in addition to his origin story with his over-sized sword and the scar on his nose, the flashbacks to Guts's childhood show how much of his insane work ethic and reckless self-endangering abandonment in battle were all kinda ingrained into him by his craving for attention and approval from shitty father figure, Gambino.
Random nice mercenary guy: "Don't overexert yourself, kid. Just do what's needed. 'Cause if you die, you lose everything."
Gambino: "It's your first battle. Work hard!"
Guts: [throws himself into battle so hard he nearly dies multiple times, fixating on pleasing Gambino the entire time]
Gambino: "C'mon, hurry up! Work! Work!"
Guts: [gives Gambino his entire earnings, Gambino tosses him back a single coin]
Guts: [more motivated by this one mild bit of encouragement than anything he's ever experienced before in his life]

I feel like I'm going insane. That episode read to me as a lot more tragic than other people are reading it. Yeah they were racist and rich and spoiled and awful but they were just kids. They were all just kids. Lindy was absolutely terrified throughout the whole thing and clinging desperately to what she knew, which was terrible. They could've had the chance to learn and become better but they chose to go die and it's infuriating and tragic because nobody deserves that. Nobody deserves to be eaten by slugs or die of exposure in the woods. Nobody deserves to suffer like that. But they chose it rather than let the Doctor help them because they'd rather stay in their rich white supremacist bubble and he just wants to help and there's nothing he can do.
Maybe it's because one of my core beliefs is that nobody deserves death and suffering. Nobody. Even the worst person on earth can learn from their mistakes and come back and change and everyone deserves that chance. There's no such thing as too late. But they're never going to get that chance because they actively rejected it and to me that's still very, very sad.

Amazing World of Gumball
I love the way that over the course of the show gumball goes from a clueless but well meaning kid with a touch of murphy's law, to just a straight terrible, overly sarcastic, selfish, actively going out of his way to make other people's lives worse, person.
Like from season 2 onwards the show never misses an opportunnity to just remind you that yo this dude is a bad person but he'll pull through if he has to I guess. And I love that so much.
We need more just blatantly terrible people as protagonists.
Amazing world of gumball is just Always Sunny for kids.

when you rewatch the entirety of the season, you watch chiaro and scuro slowly come into akira and satoru’s individual character quirks, like akira’s weird metaphors that he’s never personally experienced and satoru’s comparatively brighter personality
so it is a different kind of painful to watch akira and satoru die, see them practically reborn as chiaro and scuro only for them to lose their lives again 😭😭😭

Spoilers.
I already said what I wanted to say when chapter 423 came out. But, I guess now it's final.
I'm taking a break from mha for now, anything I post is up to me anyway, so posting something if I want to is a thing
And right now? I'm just glad that right now Tomura Shigaraki is dead. Gone. Never to return again.
So... I guess "try your best" is really the best way to end this. I won't re-watch season 1 to confirm to myself that "try your best" literally was what changed Izuku's perception on his nickname Deku.
I just want to sit and look at the wall now. Do some other stuff, watch something else.
After long 4 years of seeing Tomura with AFO in his mind, hate in his heart and that whole backstory. I'm just glad that he's at peace with himself now.
I said that already and I'll say it again. The best ending for the LoV was and still is the one in which they get to do what they want, even die, yes.
It's not the end of manga but for this long arc? It's the end. And I'm glad I followed it.
I posted sketches while joking about fanon, but I hate fanon LoV, preferring canon one still, sadly I can't change something like that in my head. Sorry.
Good luck.
