recently, Israel sent down hellfire missiles near a hospital in Gaza, which are missiles that explode into blades that slam down and cut through anything in their way. (link)

There is a video of a man with his legs newly amputated, screaming in a pool of his own blood. I won’t share the video, because it made me vomit into a toilet, but either trust me it exists or go look for it yourselves.

There is another video of a young girl, crying silently after her legs were blown off in an explosion. She explains tonelessly to the camera man that she doesn’t want fake legs because they’ll just remind her of her real ones. She is 13. (link)

A hospital is told to evacuate and they do, all the while waving white flags in a show of surrender. The IDF shoot at them anyway. (link)

Meanwhile in Israel - they begin to enforce one of the most draconian anti-free-speech laws in history.

Israel also claims to be the “only democracy in the Middle East”.

Israel has bombed hospitals, fishing boats, schools, refugee camps, power sources, water tanks, evacuation routes. They have killed 80% of Palestinian journalists, they have killed 100 UN workers, they have murdered over 4,000 children in 34 days. Because of the lack of food and water, Palestinians have begun to die from starvation, cholera.

If you still support Israel after all this, I believe you’re completely lost. Utterly without any humanity. Nothing could ever excuse this.

In Australia, there is an ongoing list of protests planned, as well as a permanent camp out being set up in Naarm/Melbourne to block Israeli transport company ZIM from shipping weapons. Congressional staffers in the US are finally being gotten through to - in spite of their rampant greed and long-suffering inhumanity, even they can recognise when their phones won't stop ringing with people saying flat out they'll never vote for them again.

ftr my thoughts on jin guangyao portraying himself as being small and weak and harmless and vulnerable are essentially that it isn't an act, because an act in this context implies a duplicity and/or disingenuousness that i don't think is present. but i do think it is a performance--it's just a performance that he has to play given the power disparity between himself and the rest of the cultivation world, at least until he becomes chief cultivator. in short, jin guangyao is performing the role of the non-threatening, subservient retainer that is expected of him to ensure his own survival in a world where he knows that the only person he can rely on to put his needs first is himself.

What do you think of the fan perception that hua cheng falls right within the themes that is criticized in tgcf which mean he’s amoral but gets away with the “heinous” tings he does because he’s the love interest, the idea is he had no right to get revenge for xei lian and killing the ghost in that mountain was wrong

1) Idk this discourse, so idk what theme Hua Cheng supposedly falls into that tgcf criticizes because 2) the most “amoral” thing about Hua Cheng is that he runs that gambling den, and it’s not like he tricks people into it or forces them to participate. Following up on 2, idk what “heinous” thing(s) he’s done that he “gets away with” seeing as the worst he is is just not being nice to the other gods, in which Xie Lian also joins in when the mood strikes him lmao. Hua Cheng getting revenge for Xie Lian is absolutely within his right because Xie Lian is his god to defend the honor of, and his “revenge” was challenging those gods to… a fair round of debates and spars that they agreed to then shamefully tried to back out of the consequences once they lost. As for the ghost in the mountain bit, I need a refresher on that cause idk what you’re talking about.

Something that's always struck me as irritating is how Sonic fans from the last few years have developed this weird preconceived notion that Tails was "always supposed to be a little kid".

Like... are you sure? Are we really gonna sit here and argue that the way Heroes and Forces portrayed Tails is the be-all-end-all of what his character is supposed to be? He was not just created to be Sonic's weak, frail little brother who needs saving all the time.

Excluding the fact that SEGA JP has ultimately nixed ages from the series altogether, he is seen countless times throughout the series taking on missions arguably more dangerous than Sonic and Knuckles, with ease mind you, and holding his own against their enemies.

Tails has built multiple planes, mechs, and other large dangerous pieces of machinery that he operates with ease. Even going off the assumption that he is a child, it wouldn't make sense for everyone to just blindly trust that a little kid knows what he's doing.

Obviously there's the indication that Tails is younger than Sonic, especially in certain older shows, and if Fiona telling Tails she's old too for him is anything to go by, we ARE supposed to believe there's an age gap between them. The problem is that so many people use these as examples to base Tails' entire character off of. Early interpretations where Tails is specifically written to BE Sonic's little brother.

He's definitely not Sonic's age, but he is a lot older and more capable than this wave of newer fans are making him out to be. He is literally almost Sonic's exact height in Sonic X!

And what about Sonic Prime? Nine says he "was a kid" during his flashback. Him having codependency issues and showing occasional childish behavior doesn't mean he's a little kid, it just means he's traumatized.

Even the variations of Tails that do feel younger have a rougher edge to them. Are we forgetting that movieverse Tails stole a police vehicle, drove it all the way to the Wachowski household and hit Knuckles with it? After traveling the universe by himself to find Sonic, no less.

Messy post, but like, tl;dr the woobification of Tails is actually getting so bad in this fandom and it's dampening his character. He's not a helpless baby, he's committed multiple war crimes and could very likely beat Sonic in a fight if things ever came to blows. Tails is getting the Silver treatment here where people just keep dumbing him down more and more to make him Sonic's cute baby brother when that's just ONE facet of his personality.

He's insanely smart! He's witty! He's tough! Frontiers wrapped his character around and tried to bring him back to the Tails we knew for being self-assured and unhinged, why does this fandom insist on ignoring it for the Lost World and Forces era mischaracterization? Just because it fits your idealized version of what he is doesn't mean that's who he's supposed to be! Put some respect on my boy's name!

Hot take but if Miquella was a girl I don’t believe the discourse surrounding his character would have arose with the dlc ending. Or at least it wouldn’t have been so bad. Like his ‘crimes’ are definitely not worse than Marika’s and yet I rarely see anyone genuinely hating on her character for what she’s done. Because she’s an attractive woman and that’s all that matters to some people.

Like he’s not at all the worst we’ve seen in a souls game and yet people are treating him like the devil. Suspicious, if you ask me…
