I really don't think we have ever seen Noa coaching any player other than Isagi, so him silently rooting for Kaiser caught me off guard real hard. Of course, it doesn't seem like much of a big deal, but to see that Noa hadn't completely taken his eyes off of Kaiser and that he hadn't completely pulled away his trust from Kaiser hits a certain type of emotion in my heart.

Considering that Kaiser wants to win over Noa too—a fact Noa, probably, knows—makes everything feel a bit.. bittersweet.

I mean, Noa has always been shown as this cold, emotionless person who inhales and exhales logic, so it was sweet when he tried to reassure Kiyora—when he showed some kind of compassion. It was like, "Hey, Kiddo! It's okay, don't worry, you'll play the next time! Cheer up!"

It also makes it sound like even if Kiyora were not to have the required stats for the next match, then Noa was prepared to against his own ideals and let Kiyora play regardless.

Okay, I had the coolest dream just now:

Alan started to post comics in which he and the Colour Gang play VR RPG games together

The rest is all incoherent and blurry but there are 3 scenes I HAVE to write it down:

1. So some of the RPG games allow you to customise your character's appearance right? The CG all made their human avatars, and ask Alan to tell them apart. Alan immediately recognised Red because he's the only one with skin colour so red like a devil straight from hell, meanwhile others all have natural skin colours. (I forgot what the others looked like though)

2. There's another really wholesome scene where Alan tried to wake Second up, he walked up to Second's avatar and gently tapped his shoulders and whispered to his ears "wakey wakey" and Second just rolled to his other side and groaned "No dad, five more minutes..." Second called Alan dad aaaaaaaa

3. And then Alan brought the five kids to diving(?), but Yellow was afraid of the water(yeah this doesn't make sense canonically), Alan didn't push Yellow at all, he very patiently waited beside Yellow and gave him encouragement, and finally Yellow overcame his fear and jumped into the water. Later when they finished their adventures Yellow secretly hugged Alan and said "thanks Dad" aaaaaaaaaaaa

Kyle had noticed three new VERY loyal customers coming in and staying for the last couple of weeks. Sure sometimes a video went a bit viral and he had a sudden influx of customers, but those didn't usually stay.

He knew for a fact one of them was Soap, because the man had told him himself and didn't stop encouraging him since.

He also knew one of them had a huge praise kink, and the other was definitely a dom, from the comments they left. So, naturally, he held a raffle. Where one (or two) of his loyal customers could have a personal video chat with him for a set amount of money. And he maybe or maybe not rigged it so the eager dom could win.

All of that to say, he ended up having a very successful night. The dom asked him to suck a dildo (while pretending it was his) and call him sir. Kyle had been a bit hesitant at that, suspicious that it would be someone he knows. It didn't help that the other man refused to talk out loud, answering in the chat, and to show his face. But, he was paid to do it, and he was going to do an amazing job.

And he did. He sucked eagerly and called him sir as many times as he wanted. When he asked if he could touch himself, the man told him to do it with his underwear still on. (What he doesn't know is that Price was feeling guilty and didn't want to pay him to show his junk, not realizing his requests were already way over the line).

This customer ended up commenting even more on his posts and it was way too easy for Kyle to imagine a familiar and gruff voice saying those filthy things to him.

Maybe it's his imagination, maybe he's just way too horny for his captain, but he swears he can see Price go still every time he calls him sir with a certain tone.

So he keeps doing it, until he is absolutely certain that the man that keeps paying him more and more to send him personal videos is his own captain. Pervert.

But he loves it. If only he would be as bold to make a move on him directly. He keeps hinting at him that he knows, that he wants him just as much as he does. But Price doesn't budge.

Kyle knows he usually waits for the other to make a move, that's just how he likes it. He likes to be desired and pursued. But hard times demands hard decisions. With his mind made up, Kyle invites Price to the bar. Just the two of them, with no one to spy or start rumors. Kyle only orders a virgin drink and doesn't wait for Price to finish his beer. He starts to flirt with him, touching his leg with his foot under the table.

Price looks receptive, even flirts back, but he still doesn't get close to Kyle. So he pushes further, sits beside him, puts his hand on Price's thigh. And god is he sexy with his cheeks reddened like that. Unable to hold it it any further, Kyle dove in for a kiss.

He was stopped, Price looking at him with a lot of surprise. ''you're drunk.'' he says confidently, and Kyle can only scoff.

''I don't have a single drop of alcohol in me, sir.'' He's allowed to stay close to him, his hands on his shoulders and chest.

''Then why?... I thought you and MacTavish...'' How can a man be so oblivious? Actually, no. In his defense, Soap and him are very close.

''It's not like that, we're just buddies.'' Kyle reassures him, but Price keeps his conflicted expression. ''I want you, you want me, I don't see the problem'' he adds.

''I'm not your type, I know it. I don't want a 'buddy' thing like you have with Soap. And.. We can't have that" clearly seeing that they were opting for talking rather than making out like teenagers, Kyle sat a bit straighter.

''And who are you to decide who is or isn't my type? I want to date you, we can keep it secret.'' Price still looked guilty.

''I'm not who you think I am...''

''You are! I know you, I know you're subscribed to my OnlyFans and I know you're a pervert, I like that about you. '' Price's face went totally white, and Kyle immediately tried to change it. ''I love a lot of things about you! You're caring, loyal, strict... You're so nervous sometimes and so stupid for hiding your feelings, but I love it. I love you...''

This is not how he imagined things to go, and he was suddenly just as nervous as Price. He thought they'd be making out, Price would fuck him and they'd admit each other's feelings in the heat of the moment. But now that he was in the moment, he understood how unrealistic that was of him. He can't start a relationship like that. And maybe Price was right, maybe they really shouldn't start anything...

His eyes suddenly started to sting, his face was warm with embarrassment. Of course Price would prefer to be just another customer, of course he doesn't want to put his rank on the line.

''You just... You knew all this time? God Kyle, you can't just admit all of that suddenly... '' Price also sounded hurt, and Kyle couldn't look at him in the eyes.

They stayed in silence for a good minute, Kyle breathing deeply to avoid any more embarrassment, Price thinking and looking at him once in a while. Until he suggested they go back to base. He drove them back, Kyle didn't say a word more. Not even a goodnight when he went to his barrack.

For your conscience, they made up a week after and started dating. It's just that with my headcanons unless Price snaps he needs a lot of time to think things through.

Also Kyle doesn't have a lot of experience with relationship, part of the reason he doesn't like to do the first move. (just doesn't know how) and I also headcanon that he has some rejection dysphoria and took that night very badly.

God, man, the big cameo panel on page 2 took me so long to finish. But I liked getting to draw all the animal species.

Deepdark is very performative, and with such a violent group, he has to make sure they all feel welcome, and more importantly loyal to him. His lieutenants help enforce that.

All the theorizing about Longest-Claws was so so fun for me. And they caught on so fast! Very nice. Actually, we will in fact learn why Deepdark chose to talk about Longest-Claws and the origins of Defiance in an upcoming issue!

What were the highlights of the show last night for you?

for context: it was one of the worst weeks of my entire life because on wednesday my grandfather had a heart attack and i had to travel urgently to my hometown and then to another city where he was in intensive care. so when i got the call in my mind the posibility of going to the show was cancelled and obviously that make me very sad but at the same time i felt guilty for wanting to go. however, my family insisted that i had to go but i waited until the last visit on friday to decide because i'm an only daughter, i'm his only granddaughter and my family consists of him, my uncle and my mother so it's not easy and he's my whole life but that same night i returned to rosario and very early on saturday i was able to travel to buenos aires, i arrived there around noon. the line was soo long but there was a beautiful autumn sun.

i met 5 other girls and i was really surprised not to see or talk to anyone underage, we entered at 5:30 in the afternoon and i unbuttoned my jeans and sat in the pit to eat an alfajor (jajsjs). the chaos begun with pacífica and continued with giant rooks (INCREDIBLE!!!). before the show started i was on the verge of losing a shoe and even though it was hot from so many people, i had 4 layers of clothes and felt very cold. at this point my throat hurt A LOT

i realized that liam was in the vip but in the part where i was (next to the catwalk) no one made much of a fuss and liam's "newness" lasted at most 40 seconds, which is why i'm surprised to see so much talk about him online when in my experience it meant nothing and the people around me said "uh it's liam, that's great" and after 2 minutes they were already focused on louis coming out on stage (no olé olé olé liam in my area)

about the show: i don't know if i have the words to describe it but it made me feel so much HAPPINESS, i think about it and smile at the screen, louis was beautiful (that color is great for him and i loved the outfit !!!) the feeling of the music in your chest in a live show is incomparable and the introduction of the greatest 10/10, there were things that surprised me like songs that i didn't think the audience would sing that louder as coacoac or face the music. megamix live is a religious experience, my eyes filled with tears during we made it (how good it sounds!!! god was it possible to beat ltwt? yes). the band? excellent, louis' voice? sweet and clear

my phone doesn't take nice photos at night and the videos are dubious and never do it justice, so for me it was great to focus on enjoying the show and not so much on recording every second or trying to get the best photo. i wish i could name one song in particular but i enjoyed them all, of the 1d covers, i felt more energy and it was louder wtbhg and i'm not going to lie i enjoyed it a lot (fun fact: that song was recorded in buenos aires during wwat - yes! overwork! yasss!)

the ooms fp was AMAZING AAAAAAAA !!!!!! AAAAA !!! !!!! SO MUCH FUN. i have watched the video that inspired it millions of times (rolling stones in buenos aires 2006 - around 5:30) dreaming of living something like that and it was better: there was pogo, energy and argentinidad. the saturdays fp made me cry. A LOT. you could feel the adoration and love of the public for him and every time louis spoke it felt special <3

after ooms i went behind the front pit to have a more panoramic view and i saw how chris (i had him next to me because he started taking photos during wtbhg and i 👀 🤔👽🚶‍♂️) and matt were toasting with the technical team. silver tongues is the perfect ending for the show and the fireworks were like the cherry in top of a cake aaaaand that's when it really hit me HOW COLD IT WAS (6°) and i wished for the next tour happens in spring when buenos aires is completely purple with the jacarandás and it's my birthday, the funny part is that now it's not even winter here. anyways I LOVED EVERY SECOND AND I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH <3 i love louis with my whole heart I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT ♥️🇦🇷

I am also apart of the Golden Dawn!! Which makes it a lot more difficult for us to spend time together with training and the bases being in different areas. I'm on the same team with klaus and mimosa and yuno!! I have what I'm calling spark magic! Most of my spells have a similar look of a sparkler or sparkler machines, so it's very glittery and bright and hot!!

David's daughter Anastasia had been super quiet and hadn't made much noise other than a few cooes and squeaks till she was around one or one and a half.

Her first word ever was 'Dav', and she'd crawl or walk around the cave, repeating it until David found her or aided her in what she wanted/needed. Another silly thing is he'd always correct her when she said it, too.

"Dav-id. With 'id' at the end-"

"Dav!"

"Don't interrupt me."

Of course, once she got bigger, it developed into Daddy or Dad. When learning Chrysta's name, it was just an easy 'Mama'.

Now Jennifer, Dwayne’s daughter, had a rough time learning the difference between mom and dad. Due to some issues during Jenny's birth, Chrysta was left in some pretty bad shape for a good few months, so Dwayne was around to help more than he was expected to.

So Jennifer had actually started calling Dwayne 'Ma' or 'Mama' when she was becoming vocal. Of course, it didn't bother Chrysta or Dwayne too much, but he'll admit it was kind of embarrassing when he was on the boardwalk and his baby girl had called at him happily 'Mommy!'

"Jenny, it's 'daddy' see? I'm 'daddy.'"

"OK, mama."

Paul tried soooo hard to get Tiffany's first word to be 'Papa' or 'Daddy' the poor guy spoon fed her books about it, making sure to linger and explain the specific pages including daddy animals or point out the parental figure considered the dad.

But it seemed no matter how hard he tried. Her words were always 'Mami!' Which soon followed a 'fuck' under Paul's breath.

... He didn't learn his mistake until one night on the boardwalk Tiffany had run a little too fast and dropped the ice cream cone Paul had just bought for her... And she exclaimed very loudly:

"FUG!"

Paul didn't know whether to be laughing or dreading what he had to explain to Chrysta later that night.

"Now Tiff, those are very bad words- and their not nice to use, especially in front of Ma...

Katherine learned how to say Mama first due to Marko referring to Chrysta with it 24/7. Marko knows its cause he says it every dawn before they go to sleep, but he likes to think it's just imprinted into her little brain due to him always giving Chrysta's tummy two taps of his fingers, and saying 'hey little mama' while she was pregnant with Kat.

Chrysta also thinks it's the most darling thing whenever Marko goes: "Goooood night mama." Soon to be followed by Kats: "Guuuuuu night mama!"

Christopers first word was actually one David wasn't happy to hear. At all.

David left him with Marko and Paul for five minutes. Five. And the moment he saw the mischevious smirks from his mates as his son was being handed back to him while gumming down on a cherry lollipop, he already knew they'd done something. And the second he opened his mouth to ask, he heard from his darling baby boy's mouth:

"Bith!"

All the girls+ Christopher (once he's old enough) collectively enjoy hunting or going on the boardwalk with their dads and mom. But they do each have their own things they like to do with each parent!

Anastasia likes learning to drive David's bike. Spending many late night hours riding around on the beach or through the fog of Hudsons Bluff with David. It's intense and thrilling, but she feels safe on the back or in the front of her dad's bike and has never at all felt like she'd get hurt or be in danger.

It's also nice when he sneaks off to go do it with her and only her - no siblings or mom and dads involved. Just a night between her and her dad for once.

She likes doing her makeup with, for, or getting it done by Chrysta. Since she isn't exactly risking mirror checks by walking into salons or makeup booths, it's nice to be able to keep herself well groomed and spend quality time with Chrysta.

She gets her hair done or nails made pretty, all while telling her mom about a cute boy she saw on the boardwalk she knows if she told David about he'd never get off her case. ���

Jennifer likes making jewelry with Dwayne. He always brings back teeth or cool bones he finds and teaches her how to tie or braid them into necklaces or anklets.

He also likes braiding her hair and putting beads in it- (This kids got his thick hair and Chrysta didn't go through 9 months of heartburn for it to not be taken care of.) teaching Jenny the same while being her personal model to test it on. Even if his hair ends up in knots, he praises her for her hard work. 🙏🥺

Jenny likes stories with Chrysta. She always tells the best ones while she's falling asleep or unable to sleep. In all honesty, she just seems to like Chrysta's voice. If she's being honest, her mama has a calm, lulling hum that makes her feel all cozy and safe.

Tiffany loves- and I mean LOVES dancing with her Daddy. Paul's always blasting music on his boom box and it's blasting twice as loud when it's just the two of them left in the cave.

Either their thrashing their heads together or jumping around the water fountain screaming along to the heavy metal, or he even plays a few of Tiffs favorites (a few Disney CD specials he stole once 🤫🤫)

But Tiff adores when Paul holds her on his hip and sway along to some slow dance songs, tiring her down after the few songs involving moshing and swinging. Even humming a little to them while doing some twirls just to get her to giggle. 🥺

Tiffany likes quality time with her mama! Maybe for the fact Chrysta can't say no the the perfect little puppy dog eyes she gives but does this girl no how to get spoiled rotten.

She likes being able to go around the boardwalk and walk through stores or booths looking at things, especially anything that sparkles. Chrysta has had to pat down her own child for jewelry snatches sneakily away from booths before.

Now. We all know Marko’s got to know at least a little handiwork when it comes to sewing or stitching. I mean, have you seen this man's jacket? He's bound to teach his offspring a little bit of his magic.

Katherine enjoys sitting on Marko’s lap as he either works on a new patch in his jacket or fixing up some of her own clothes. It's probably one of the only things she stays completely focused on and stays still,making sure to listen to everything he says.

He let's her take a go a few times- but that only lasts ten seconds before she's crying about poking her fingers or her hands are tangled in thread.

Kat likes dressing up with Chrysta. The two like looking through some old clothes or stolen goodies and putting on their own little fashion shows in the cave.

Since mirrors are a no-go, they like putting on the most flashy or hideous combination you could imagine and trying to make one another laugh.

Christopher likes learning to fly with David. David is probably the most safest option when it comes to difficult or riskier tasks to learn and he knows it.

Chris struggles getting the hand of it, and sometimes David can't fight the smugness when his son just likes to ride on his back or curl up underneath his buttoned up jacket while hovering around.

You know how mama bats hold their young in their wings when their upside down or something? That's how David holds Chris in his coat LMAO if anyone needed visuals.

Watching movies with Chrysta is one of the things Chris holds dear to his heart. Especially in his younger years when he's still not old enough to join hunting, his mom will happily stay behind and binge some cheesy cheap horror movie or soap opera with him.

I mean, they'll watch anything they can get their hands on, especially knowing they can easily get Max to give up a few VHS with the 'Grandpa' card.

Anastasia's sentimental item is a pocket knife her dad used to have all the way back in 1900 when he was a pick-pocketer. It's not in the best shape, obviously, but it's a piece of him back before his immortality, and Annie is extremely intrigued about her father and his mates past.

Jennifer's comfort item has to be the skirt she seems to wear and never take off. It's sewn with multiple bits and pieces of beaded or detailed fabric her dad can find, and mom can sew. Chrysta could swear that sometimes Jenny purposefully makes tears or holes in the skirt just so Chrysta can add more to it.

Tiffany probably considers anything she owns as a comfort item - she's kind of a hoarder in the making with her collection of trinkets and jewelry Paul has spoiled her to death with. She does love the red lensed sunglasses passed down from Chrysta to her.

Katherine's jacket is probably the second thing she loves most in life. The light pink fuzzy thing couldn't be pried of her very body if one tried. Marko bought it for her after he saw the sparkly rhinestones on the front of it that spelled out 'Princess' in cursive. Ever since Marko told her that she's "Daddy's little princess," this kid has a COMPLEX.

Christopher's a little dude, but he's probably got David's coat promised to him when he's older. If you want to see David turn into a puddle of goo, just watch his son waddle over to him and crawl underneath his coat and snuggle with his dad. As dangerous as it is, Anastasia loves the sunlight. The very thing that could kill her in a matter of painful seconds is the thing she's completely fascinated and intrigued by.

She can't help but feel a bit envious of humans who are able to feel the sun on their skin without agonizing pain to follow. Let a sunrise run up their fingertips without having to pull away. She fantasized about the summer days her mom would tell her about whenever she asked Chrysta what sunshine was like when she was human... Sometimes, she thinks she and her mother have a mutual agreement that they both wish to experience sunshine at least once in their immortality.

Now the thing she hates? David's overprotectiveness. If there's anything she can't stand it's when her dad demands or orders her around- sometimes it feels like she can't go seven feet in front of him without him demanding her to come back and never leave his side for the rest of the night.

Jennifer's favorite thing is her Daddy's hair. Like I've said and will stand my it RELIGIOUSLY is that Dwayne’s hair is probably the most cared for and well groomed than most of the boys. And Jennifer LOVES to play with it or snuggle with it.

This man is 100% willing to spend hours sitting perfectly still while his daughter covers his head with bows, clips, flower crowns, and the most ghastly knots considered braids. Jenny DESPISES social interaction with anyone that isn't her pack. She's the shyest thing anyone in the coven has ever seen. Whenever they're on the boardwalk Jenny is hiding behind Dwayne’s legs or her mom's side.

Tiffany's favorite thing is the beach! Paul gives off some very low surfer dude vibes imo,(I mean there's a split shot in the movie where we see some surfboards) but I don't think he does anything extravagant or hardcore- I feel he'd just swim out a a ways with Tiffany on the edge of his board and moonbathe for a little bit, laying on his back with Tiff on top or hanging her legs over the ledge, both taking a little nap.

As much as Tiffany likes the sea and the beach, she hates baths. She's like a feral cat clawing and clinging onto her moms arm to avoid touching the soapy surface of the bath at Max's home.

Now Katherine's favorite thing? Marko. You know how I said the thing she loves second in her life was her jacket? Marko takes first place. (Sorry Chrysta LOL.)

Kat loves her papa and clings to his very being like a koala. She's always making sure she's the star of his attention whenever he's around. If no one can find Kat, just look on Marko’s back, leg, or arm. She's probably latched herself onto there.

And the thing Kat hates is when Marko has to leave. Whether it be hunting or simply just a boys' night out, she's pouting and asking when he's gonna be back. She thinks any second without her dad is gonna end up with him in danger or hurt. She makes some of the cutest excuses as to why she can't go to bed so she can hopefully stay up till Marko gets back. Christophers' favorite thing has got to be the boardwalk! The little guys eyes just get all big and excited at all the sparkling, twinkling lights and colorful stands or rides. He even starts to babble or squeal happily whenever the word affiliated with his favorite place is mentioned.

Christopher hates Daddy's vampire face. Like- when David and all the guys get vamped out, Chris'll start crying. It's similar to those videos with babies' reactions when fathers shave their beards for the first time in their lives.

It's worse when David does it on purpose to get a good laugh too, and he isn't doing anything malicious or cruel to scare his son, he's just holding him and this kid will go into hysteric sobs while hiding in David's coat.

I'm bad at remembering what happened during the year except for Ensemble Stars and I love a lot of what we got.

Altered and Blackbird Oh my god. This was something I couldn't have even dreamed getting. There's so much in it... like Eichi calling Wataru by his first name for the first time, all the additions to past lore, that Rei scene with Tsumugi, Natsume admitting he wanted to be like Eichi, Nagisa again reminding ex-fine had good times too, Wataru bragging about his love life and THIS line from Eichi.

And the whole of Blackbird. Everything about it. Aaaaaaaa~

And Dawning Angels! New ex-fine/fine-O song! And I love it's performed in current time, not in the past. Again something I didn't ever even dared to dream. Twilight Pentagram is great too.

Angelic Grace This song has become almost as dear to me as Feathers of Ark, it's such a beautiful song. ❤️ Aaaaaa, I love fine so much!!!

Atlantis and Element too, Atlantis had great moments for Tori, interesting ones for Wataru and stressful few days for fineP. xD Oh and Eichi and Yuzuru were funny in it. :D And Dreaming Ocean is such a cute song and the MV so pretty! Element was nice to get animated again, it's great they took bits from Wonder Game and added Blackbird as last episode to make it fuller experience. Oh and hey, MVs for Genuine Revelation and Eccentric Party Night! <3

Knight Killers This was a surprise, Crush of Judgment getting MV and a new Knight Killers story and cards... Can we get a new song for them too? (It's kinda amazing Nazuna and Eichi are in the same temp unit and they have even reunited TWICE now.)

Oh and hey that Hiyori 3* card story where Hiyori, Nagisa, Eichi and Tsumugi played boardgames the whole day. ❤️ Exactly something I've been wanting for.

In non-fine stuff:

Double Face WTF. Waaaaahhh I haven't still completely digested the unit is no more. At least they left us with a banger in the form of Nebula.

New Adam and Eve songs! Again something I wasn't expecting, I thought the Eden subunits would be just mentions in stories at this point.

And Alkaloid's Black Out See Saw surprised me, what a bold song. Definitely one of the best I've heard this year. And the best Valkyrie song came out, Meikyuu Denshi Kairo!!

Oh and a few mentions for scout stories. I loved Biblion and Scorpio's Venom and Kaoru being a good senpai in them, Manga Club was fun because damn they won Eiichiro Oda's autograph, Fair Waltz gave us Eichi doing fighting moves and of course there was the Kanata & co. lookback (with the most adorable Souma card).

Obviously I liked a lot more stuff but this is getting long...

P.S. Oh and actually the last two cover songs which I love dearly, i.e. Starlight Parade and Yoru ni kakeru, came out too.

(NOTE: I'm reading the Dark Horse [physical] and the Overhaul [online] translations side-by-side)

as I've said before, I first read the Dark Horse translation as it came out in the US when I was a teenager almost 20 years ago. I remember always carrying the latest volume around with me at school, reading and re-reading it every chance I got (often when I should've been doing other things, y'know, as you do), and...honestly, I'm amazed I didn't get vol 3 taken away and/or had my parents called on me for it 😅 no spoilers, but lemme tell you: this volume, you can really feel the jump from shounen to seinen. maybe that's one of the reasons why it's among those that most stick out to me? there are other reasons, of course, but I'll get to them as they come up. anyway. I'm excited about this volume, so let's get into it!

on the first page after the table of contents, we have context-altering translation discrepancies. I mean, yeah, you could say either one works, but...idk. once again, I'm more partial to the Overhaul. to me, it better emphasizes how much Wolfwood finds uncanny and/or doesn't understand about Vash.

and these flashbacks as Wolfwood's falling? I never rly understood it. this time around, I see it as Wolfwood ① reflecting on how Vash expresses his ideology and ② getting pissed about it (again).

I didn't understand what was happening on this page until this read-through! I always thought Wolfwood just hit a wall or something, but no - it's a lil self-own with the Punisher there (no but srsly, o u c h)

on the next page, subtle translation differences. Dark Horse has Wolfwood saying to Gray "Well done...y' big lug! Now, eat your reward! I'll feed you your death!!" whereas the Overhaul has "Nice job...ya fat lug! I'll feed ya yer reward! Now, eat lead!"

...and here, the translations say THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE of one another 😵‍💫

a more minor translation discrepancy is when Leonov is set up to attack Vash with that frickin'...vivisection-made...human taxidermy puppet behemoth...Dark Horse says "27 lethal points!" while the Overhaul says "27 lethal strikes!"

same deal with after Vash guns the thing down (in tHE COOLEST GOTDAMN SEQUENCE!!!). I'm not sure if it's Leonov talking for himself or through the puppet Unica, but either way, Dark Horse has (talking about Vash) "What a baffling fellow. If you're going to aim, it should be for the head, right?" while the Overhaul has "You're a strange fellow. If you intend to shoot me, shouldn't you aim for the head?" before, I thought this was in reference to Vash shooting the puppet thing - but this read-through, with the Overhaul wording things more obviously, it occurs to me that it's actually in reference to Vash also shooting through the tree branch that Leonov and Unica were just standing on.

that "drilling" bit always confused me. the Overhaul's translation...brings to mind that thing Nightow said in an interview about Vash and Knives leading a 'crawling existence' - this prolonged life alongside and witnessing humanity (to differing extents, of course)...

also. Leonov's face bleeding. I distinctly remember thinking on my very first read-through "dayum, he's got a strong grip!" but this. has nothing to do with that. 😱

on the next page, a minor translation discrepancy which falls under the category of Dark Horse Breaking Down Words And/Or Sentences Weird. in the Dark Horse translation, Unica's like "Splendid. How splendid! The. Raw. Material!" whereas in the Overhaul, it's "Splendid. How splendid! Untainted material!" oh Dark Horse, u so silly~

anyway! thanks to the Overhaul's translation, I know from the last chapter of the previous volume just how fucked up Leonov's puppets are! which makes this panel that much more horrific to me!!!!! 🫠

and then, over the next several pages, we have a whole monolog by Wolfwood that is rife with context-altering translation discrepancies;;;;;

in Dark Horse, we have this:

"A man...does not change... The name remains, long after the body is no longer bound to the flesh...when the blood is drained, the muscles stripped from the bone... Nothing beautiful enters here. That's reality for ya. ' 'Til death, the outer road tastes like the outer road.' "

...okay???

in the Overhaul, it's a whole 'nother story:

"The world...doesn't change... Yer name might remain, even long after ya die...but yer ideals join ya in the grave. Nothin' good ever lasts in this world. That's just reality for ya. Ya can keep on walkin' down this road 'til ya bite the dust. Nothin' will change."

the way I see it, it's a continuation of Wolfwood's lil ideological disagreement with Vash. this monolog is how Wolfwood sees the world. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: ah, Wolfwood...spoken like a man stuck between a rock and a hard place! 🥲

yeah, weird translation discrepancy on that left speech bubble 8T

Bardle VS Border has me a bit baffled, tho. it's definitely a mistranslation of an "imported" (therefore written in katakana) word, but that's where it gets weird. I looked it up and the closest "imported" word match I could find to "border" was ボーダー (literally "bo—da—" when romanized, O pronounced as in the American English word "over" and A pronounced as in "father"). SO. I'm thinking maybe the original Japanese used ボーダール (literally "bo—da—ru" when romanized, U pronounced as in "use"), but idk. what I'd give to see this panel untranslated...

aaaaand we end the chapter with a little slapstick palate-cleanser from the girls 🤭

because I'm bored and due to the lack of content from the tour & on Aleksi's twitch (didn't he say he filmed material worth of at least 4 bonus videos? or does my memory fail me 🤔), I made a compilation / list of all the cute Olli/Allu moments from Aleksi's twitch streams, (because what else would I be doing with my time off 🤡) because I for one didn't expect the streams to be such a goldmine for Olli/Allu content right from the beginning 🤲 I mean, I knew they were special to each other, but to find out they're this special... 🥺💕

(and yeeeeesssss I knoooow we've been over all of these so many times already, but unfortunately I'm still thinking about these moments alright, so bear with me will you 😇 at least I'm putting it behind a read-more for y'all's scrolling pleasure, which I couldn't have done in @sparfloxacin's askbox where I originally wanted to dump all this 🤧)

already on the first stream we had Aleksi texting Olli about his bass tracks being played on the stream and Olli answering immediately (because of course he answers his bf immediately <3) and Olli telling Aleksi how good his stream looks (because of course he went to look at it immediately <3) and communicating with the stream / the viewers via Aleksi by asking if they wanted a bass tutorial (because of course he'd want to contribute to his bf's new hobby <3) and then later Aleksi making a duet with said tutorial (I'm still not over how cute that was 😭)

Aleksi for some reason answering a question about Olli's gag reflex?? of all the questions he could pick from the chat, this is the once he chooses to comment on?? 👁️👄👁️ (fair enough, he probably just saw Olli's name and started reading the comment before he could help it because Olliiiiiiii 🥰💕💞)

Aleksi revealing he had texted Olli about a cool shirt he had seen 🤲

Aleksi texting Olli about merch and looking sad bored when he didn't answer, but once he did, the biggest smile spread on Aleksi's face 🥹 (and then he immediately changed the subject because he probably realised he let his crush show a little too much 😭), and wasn't this the one where Olli gave him a call mid-stream? because I guess Olli didn't have anything better to do than discuss merch ideas with his bf and that's just what they do apparently, just spontanously call each other whenever aaaaaaaa boyfrieeeeeeeendssss 💞💖💕💗

Aleksi talking about Olli's socks that "somehow" ended up in his suitcase? uh-huh yeah sure, how to say I'm fucking my bandmate without saying I'm fucking my bandmate 😌

then there was the spooky stream which I'm also still not over, tragically 😩 I'm just so weak about the fact Olli was Aleksi's first option to ask about ghost stories for his stream in the dead of night, and that Olli really had nothing else to do but join in his bf's spooky shenaningans and putting actual effort in it too (in general I'm trying soooooo hard not to overthink the fact they both chose to be texting each other about silly stuff rather than, idk, sleeping next to their girlfriends or whatever, but I guess this is completely normal behaviour for them and should not be over-analyzed)

not to mention how happy Aleksi was about Olli replying to his texts in the middle of the night, just HOW in love could they be?!? 😭

the bonus video about the remix Aleksi made in which he used Olli's guitar loop and had also named the project file after Olli 💖 (he totally didn't listen to that guitar loop over and over again thinking about Olli and how much he loves him and maybe drinking some red wine and missing him a lot and perhaps even crying a little 😭)

the amount of Olli included in that mini vlog 🥰 because they just can't stay too apart from each other <3

just in general name-dropping Olli so so often 🥺💞

did I forget something crucial? 🤔 in any case, even without shippy glasses on I dare you to argue they aren't a little bit special to each other, because how many times had Aleksi mentioned / interacted with Olli on these streams in comparison to all his other bandmates, INCLUDING the ones that live in the same city as him and with whom he thus gets to spend time even off-tour / when they're not actively making music/recording? yeah, that's right 😌
