There's this thought that's been festering in the back of my head growing independently like an unwanted fungus and it needs to breathe for a second so I'm sharing it.

(This is is another me thinking out loud post so please think of it as an exploration of an idea rather than a presentation.) what if, what if, what if. What if Naruto was Sasuke's first love. What if he liked him. like liked him. And when he realized it it made him frustrated. Because he's supposed to be focused on so many other things but this stupid obnoxious useless team mate of his has forced his way under his skin and won't leave him alone. And it's completely one-sided. Naruto doesn't feel the same way. yes he's obsessed with Sasuke but he really does mean friends. Naruto wants to be the greatest ninja, he wants to be Hokage and somehow he's so focused on those things that he doesn't.notice. that Sasuke is suffering. Meanwhile Sasuke is in agony because everyday it just gets worse. he cares too much. The desire for connection starts overshadowing his entire reason for existence. He's losing grip on the loneliness that was fueling his goals. And his heart is starting to ache with something completely opposite of darkness whenever he sees stupid Naruto connecting with so many people in the way only Naruto knows how. and it begins to not matter anymore if he can avenge his clan or not. All he wants is to be with Naruto in that world. He would die for Naruto. he did once. But Naruto doesn't feel the same way. And the unhealed wound in Sasuke's heart is festering too much and he's hurting in too many ways that can't disappear on their own. And then he starts realizing that Naruto doesn't understand him. That the village they were both born in isn't his home but it is Naruto's. That Naruto loves it and wants to belong to it and is actually starting to. And Sasuke realizes how far he is from this world that Naruto is living in because Naruto was born with nothing but is getting everything and he expects it to be the same for Sasuke too. He expects it to be the same for everyone. That's how it was for him. And he tells Sasuke so. And it ruins Sasuke because he realizes that if he stayed he would be ripped apart entirely by Naruto's world view, that whatever love Naruto was giving him was only burning him and suffocating him.

So he walks away. because the love Naruto can give him is not the love that will heal him or help him. It's the kind of love that will kill him.

Is satosugu a queerbaiting ship?

Yes and no. No, it's not queerbaiting in canon because Gege is not writing anything romantic in their relationship; Yes, it's queerbaiting coming from the fandom because the majority of stsg shippers are genuinely convinced there's something romantic between them in canon, and fandom is what a fan engages in way more than just canon therefore people get brainwashed/gaslighted into thinking stsg is meant to be canon.

Theories you read? That's fandom. Art you reblog? Fandom. Memes you consume and regurgitate? Fandom. Sending me asks about JJK? You're engaging in fandom. When you only—and I really mean only—read the manga and do not engage in any other aspect of JJK in online spaces, then you are not engaging in fandom therefore you have no stsg shippers forcing their headcanons down your throat and manipulating you into believing that shit. However... not engaging in fandom really isn't the reality for most JJK fans ... and because the majority of the JJK fandom are stsg shippers ... and because the majority of stsg shippers are truly convinced Gege wrote those two with a romantic dynamic ... people start to think there's actual romance happening and therefore he's queerbaiting bc "Gege will never have the balls to make stsg canon so he just sprinkles in random hints bc he's being censored by homophobic Shueisha!!!!" even though JJK has a lgbt couple and openly trans character like ... Lmfao.

The answer is no, there's no queerbaiting going on because there is no romance between stsg happening. Neither Gege nor his editors have never insinuated anything of the sort, nor have the voice actors, or anyone from the animation team. In canon, Gojo and Geto's relationship has only ever been portrayed as platonic. Any stsg cope that their friendship is secretly romantic is manipulative gaslighting. They keep twisting facts to suit their narrative and it's so annoying. "My one and only" is not romantic, the line before that is literally "My best friend"; "My soul knows otherwise" is not romantic, Gege said in the fanbook it's about the way Kenjaku's CT interacts with Gojo's Six Eyes; "Geto is the only deep bond Gojo has with a person" Literally a lie but this is also because of the age-old issue of Shonen writers' misogyny.

The biggest and greatest example of this issue is what Kishimoto did with Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura. To keep it short, Kishimoto, self-described as "I don't know how to write women", put all his effort into developing both Naruto and Sasuke as independent characters, their dynamic with each other, their relevance to the plot, their narrative arcs, etc. etc. and Sakura? She was just ... there. Not saying she was a nothingburger character but the gap between Naruto & Sasuke vs Sakura was considerably evident. And what happened when Kishimoto gave way more depth to the two guys in the trio over the girl? Mass shipping and delusional nrss is canon takes and egg hunts everywhere, even though it was clearcut that nrss was nothing but platonic. It's the same story with Gojo/Geto/Shoko (she literally disappears during HI like fuck you Gege), and the same story with Yuuji/Megumi/Nobara. Hell, I'd even go as far as to say it's the same with the Special Grades: Gojo/Geto/Yuuta/Tsukumo. There's a big disparity between character work for Gojo, Geto & Yuuta vs Tsukumo.

Gege might not make his female characters do fanservice like panty shots, unreasonably big tits, mad sexualization, KYAAHHH!!!, etc. all the time but that don't mean he's above being misogynistic to his female cast .

Gege did a lot of character work for both Gojo and Geto in HI which led up to the iconic Kenjaku reveal moment in Shibuya arc. Great. None of that shit was romantic in any way though. Had he given Shoko the same care and love he's given to the boys, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Because that would mean that the fujos would have to engage with her character and her dynamic with other characters in a meaningful way. Alas... that didn't happen because Gege said this is a sausage fest.

Now, all this doesn't mean that you can't ship stsg. It just means that stsg is not a canon ship, Gege is not being censored so he can't "confirm their love", it means that in canon there is no romantic love between those two and there never has been. But you can still ship it, though. Hell, I ship TojiGo! Literally negative romance there in canon obviously, but that won't stop me because exploring character dynamics outside of the confines of canon and the what-ifs is what shipping is all about! (Majority) stsg shippers are just annoying as fuck because they genuinely believe their ship is canon, try to force their headcanons and misinterpretations of the material down everyone's throats, and send death threats to anyone who dares to ship Gojo with literally anyone else. And then gaslight the part of the fandom that isn't into shipping culture so bad that people start to think this fujo ship is queerbaiting. Goddamn.

But you are right, I am not as invested in MHA, because it just doesn't have the versatility and genius of Naruto and Shippuden, it is actually quite a straightforward story and I don't need to burn a lot of my braincells to 'get it'. Lol. I am not saying it's bad, but as compared to its contemporary mangas, it just isn't at par for my tastes. It's good for entertainment but it doesn't affect me like other mangas that it takes inspiration from. Fans make comparisons between Naruto and BNHA because Horikoshi is inspired by Kishimoto, definitely some similarities are there, but it misses on the most crucial point. Naruto and Shippuden are love stories. BNHA is simply your typical shounen manga. Naruto and Shippuden use the narrative tool of subversion to tell a love story in the restrictive genre of shounen. It has multiple layers and you need presence of mind to see them. Naruto is gay and you see comphet in his character, his interest in Sakura looks superficial from the beginning and then in kage arc, it is concluded as a mere cover to run from confronting his dilemma, and closetedness. His character is consistently shown as having an internal fight, a dilemma. Sasuke is just on your face, he is clearly shown as having no interest in women, but with Naruto he is especially intimate on his own accord. Ya know, using random panels ain't gonna help, you need to establish it in the narrative. Headcanons are all nice to entertain when that's all you watch media for, shipping. But please to be showing more maturity and media comprehension when sending me an ask, I am not very sympathetic to gaslighters whose heads are filled with shippy shit and cheap self gratification. When I talk Naruto, I make comparisons with other clearly gay media, and point out the common tropes, it's a result of expansive research. Not just random panels that prove nothing. Little one, you need more than that to prove your theories. Conformity is one of the pillars Japanese society is built upon, so it's not surprising that Japanese media talks upon how anything that doesn't conform to the norms is rejected. But where other mangas, great mangas, popular and critically well acclaimed mangas have explored this idea in detail, MHA is just touch and go. It doesn't entertain a balanced proper discourse on it. It is truly shounen in that sense. Again, I am not saying it is bad, it is just more age appropriate. Which is totally fine. Do you know how heteronormativity is established in the narrative? Like this. Show me where this happens in MHA. Lol. Sweetheart, if the writer had made any attempt to write this world as heteronormative, where gay characters face challenges, I would have seen it. Seriously, you are going to give me the example of Toga? I haven't gone through the recent chapters yet. I have only watched the anime. But it is clear that, that girl is medically insane. Her idea of liking someone is to kill that person and drink their blood, for her own pleasure. She ain't a homosexual, more like hemosexual. Hahaha. Again, you gotta show me the trajectory of her character, start with the base and show me how it escalates, how does she learn better about herself, her own feelings, the world from her perspective. There is no doubt Izuku and Bakugou have a strong relationship, even if it is mostly rivalry. But one can see that Bakugou cares about Deku and vice versa. Before telling me how to read, perhaps you should have done it yourself. Lol, I see this type of behaviour a lot from typical silly shippy shippers. So just because Bakugou and Deku talk about their rivalry in their vulnerable moments, that the audience knows as congruent since we have already seen they have a hot and cold relationship but that they are friends nonetheless, that proves they love each other romantically? You obviously don't know how romance tropes work. The dynamic between two men who respect and admire each other is always shown with a lot of empathy in Japanese media. It is one of the founding pillars of shounen, a genre meant for teenaged boys. They are certainly closer to each other than they are with women they are interested in, but a lot of fans such as yourself misinterpret it as romantic, because headcanon goggles. No, you gotta have more than that. Where Naruto and Shippuden have it in truckloads, none of that in BNHA. Deku is heterosexual af. If he is so interested in Bakugou, how come he reacts the way he reacts to Uraraka? Where is his conflict? Where is his dilemma? His affection and romantic interest in Uraraka is genuine and sincere, not a cover to hide his more private feelings. Unlike in Naruto's case. Kishi uses clever narrative tricks and tools to tell his love story in shounen and he does it skillfully. His motives and intentions are clear as water. He uses inventive smokescreens and red herrings to escape from being too controversial and colour inside the borders of shounen, nothing like that in BNHA. To begin with, Horikoshi doesn't even delve into the sexualities of his characters, because his story is not about that. There's no context, no set up, nothing. His worldbuilding is simply conventional, by which I mean heteronormative, there's no talk about sexual orientation of characters. You see the usual shounen perviness by Mineta and Kaminari and typical straight girls going kawaai over good looking boys like Todoroki, what impression does that give? If Horikoshi wanted to establish his characters being gay, he would have set up the context mindfully and carefully, like Kishi did. Gay relationships and characters can't be shown so explicitly in shounen as that would jeopardize its distribution in the west. Reason? Censorship. That's why Kishi had to be so careful, his target audience might not get it, but the adults do. Well, unbiased adults do, at the very least. So the boys in bnha are gay just because? Because you want them to be? Storytelling and character building doesn't work like that.

About that post of yours about people getting upset about Patroclus and Achilles being seen romantically, I've seen every single thing that made me so "wtf?"

I've seen them use the justification that they're cousins, from some sources. This doesn't make sense bc cousins getting along in Ancient Greece wasn't all that fuss, it's not like they were brothers! And they're cousins once removed…Orestes and Hermione are first cousins and no one finds it strange!

I've seen people use the justification that Achilles is married (Deidamia). Firstly, it depends on the source, secondly…he still has Briseis? There are sources that there are Briseis and OTHER characters (e.g. Polixena). Even in the sources where he's married, that doesn't stop him from doing anything. Not only Achilles but other characters! Agamemnon has been married for years and had Chryseis and Cassandra. Odysseus is married and his lovers vary with sources. Even before Helen was kidnapped, Menelaus already had a child with another woman. "Ah, but he would still prefer Deidamia, just as Odysseus and Menelaus still preferred Penelope and Helen" well, Agamemnon explicitly states that he prefers Chryseis, and Jason preferred Creusa over Medea…maybe we can assume that different characters are different characters!

I've seen people use the justification that both he and Patroclus had slaves… which, again, doesn't change anything. Again, married men had slaves, I don't know why we're pretending otherwise. Having a slave does not prevent having other relationships, after all, not even a legitimate wife prevents it (or married men wouldn't have bed slaves in the first place). "Ah, but that shows they like women in mythology!"…yeah…but well, some people like more than one gender. That still doesn't rule anything out, I don't see where we're going!

I've seen people explain that it's bc this is something modern… which isn't, there were already romantic interpretations of them in antiquity (Aeschylus, hello? Plato?). But then you point that out and they say "well, but it's not Homer" but then they bring up things like Polyxena and Penthesilea as proof and…their myths with Achilles aren't Homeric! And then they say it's not one of the explicitly declared couples…which, again, doesn't stop anything?? Even more so bc one of the people I saw saying this shipped two characters who never had any romantic text or subtext so it's a walking contradiction!

And even with this "explicit couples" thing, I've seen people talk about a vibe like "oh why focus on Patrochilles, which isn't even canon when there's Apollo x Hyacintus" and I'm still trying to find WHAT is the similarity between these two ships besides being between two male characters. Not even tragedy can be considered a determining factor since tragic couples are not exactly rare in mythology…like, oh tragic couple, so Megara x Heracles is the same too! C'mon, guys! I got the impression that these people have the idea that the ship only exists bc it's MLM and, therefore, any MLM ship plays the role even when the dynamics AREN'T the same…

Or they'll say "the fans make them into a straight stereotype of rigid gender roles", which if you go to the Ao3 tag and read the fics is easily refuted! Especially for Achilles, who depending on the fic isn't even a perisex cis man. But they really don't know the majority preferences of shippers bc e.g there's an idea that absolutely everyone is strictly bottom Pat x top Achilles bc "furious warrior Achilles" and "cool guy Patroclus"… which's funny bc it couldn't be further from reality! And the same person who says this has a ship with strict gender roles, for the love of god!

Even if the ship were canonically impossible… well, hcs exist! As a kid, I watched Naruto and thought Ino x Sakura was very cute, but that doesn't mean I DIDN'T notice that the canon couple was going to be Sakura x Sasuke. It looks like they've never seen shipping before, my god!

Finally: I left the most absurd for last. This wasn't on Tumblr, it was on another social network. Basically, user kind of texted something like "of course you like Patroclus x Achilles, you're not Greek!" And I'm still trying to understand the relationship between someone being Greek and someone liking or not liking a ship. Could it be that in the documents that ask for nationality, if you put "Greek" a questionnaire appears asking you if you ship Patrochilles and if you click "yes" you are taken for falsifying your nationality or something like that?

P.S.: You don't even need to answer this ask. I really just needed to comment on this nonsense, and my friends aren't mythology fans, so here we are!

Okay so I'm just over here nodding aggressively to a lot of things you said, I know you said I don't need to reply to this but let me just add a couple thoughts:

1. Seriously the cousin thing is laughable to me, like who cares who CARES!! Literally it doesn't even matter, not only were romantic relationships btwn cousins not that big a deal in ancient greek works and mythology but also there are so many literary works written before the 20-21st century that feature cousins falling in love, like in the realm of fiction at least it isn't the big and shocking thing the antis think it is, and it hasn't been for centuries, I don’t get why people get so worked up about that...... it doesn’t even count as an argument, moving on

2. People saying that Achilles can't possibly be queer because he sleeps with women and has a son etc etc..... I feel like they’re missing the point, because the thing about Achilles, in my opinion, isn't whether he’s gay or not, or even if he’s bi or not. Those neat little categories are a relatively modern invention I think, and I don’t think that any ancient person would identify as gay or straight or what have you. In some places being a little too close with your buddies (or your students, particularly young male students --athens i'm looking at you--) was a thing, in some others it wasn't, but it wasn't part of their identity like it is now, ykwim? So I think it's pointless to try to put Achilles and Patroclus in those boxes, many people have tried it and it doesn't work. Achilles may have a son with Deidamia but he doesn’t mention her in the Iliad not even once, he cares about Briseis and in the text he lies/sleeps with her but he wouldn’t stop Agamemnon's men from taking her nor would he return to the fighting for her, his relationship with or feelings for the women he sleeps/has slept with doesn't really affect his behaviour. It is Patroclus who he has the emotional bond with, Patroclus who convinces him to do something other than sulk in his camp, Patroclus whom Achilles values above all, Patroclus's death that changes the trajectory of the war and Achilles' own life. The bond between Achilles and Patroclus has cataclysmic consequences for all the Achaens and the Trojans, no other woman in Achilles' life comes close to what he has with Pat.

So like..... that's what's important here. Achilles could have slept with a thousand women and Patroclus with a thousand more and it wouldn't matter. I'm not here to argue whether they were exclusive or not sexually speaking, that's irrelevant and frankly I don't care. I also can't comment on Achilles x Polyxena or Penthesilea I'm not very familiar with those myths and they aren't even Iliad canon anyway so who cares. People have been writing fanfic about him for centuries, what's new.

3. As for the rest of the arguments against Patrochilles I have to admit I stay as far away from drama as I can so I don't really know what is being said online about them. The things you're saying honestly sound like toxic fandom behaviour and antis being at it for no goddamn reason. I'm not even going to respond to that because again, I don’t think there is anything to say. People can ship what they want and headcanon Achilles and Pat boinking any which way they want as long as they leave me alone lmao. Like as long as they don't come to my ask box or ao3 comments with dumbass or exclusionary views (or if Tumblr doesn't decide to spam me with them) then I'm good. I'm definitely not going to go looking for those views on Tumblr or elsewhere.

4. Honestly I didn't even know racism had been brought into this LMAO like I was not familiar with the take that if you're Greek you can't like Patroclus/Achilles. Like.... why is that? Why wouldn't a Greek person like Patrochilles? Do Greeks not have good taste then? I don't get it. Maybe it's because the Iliad is so deeply rooted into ancient greek culture and we learn about it in school or what not, so like it has to be this sacred thing that no one can touch/spoil? For me, shipping ancient dudes is the best way to actually learn a thing or two about history and literature and what have you LOL like I care so much more about the Iliad now than I did in high school. The sad thing is that I feel like if I ever told people irl that I ship Patrochilles they would first be baffled and then probably appalled lmao I can't even imagine their reaction if they ever saw the Patrochilles shrine I keep in my study 😂 Homophobia is a big thing here sadly, and I personally know people who would literally fight anyone who says that mlm was a thing in ancient Greece (because as we know the ancient greeks were the pinnacle of perfection and wisdom and the gays now just want to ruin that 🙄). I'll never forget my high school ancient greek teacher going into a whole rant about it for an hour, and also the school textbooks we had themselves were so heavily censored. It's just such a sad way to be if you ask me, both because you're a fucking homophobe but also you're missing out on so much of the nuance of this culture that you're supposed to "revere", it's always been super baffling to me.

Nh shippers know that outright denying sns would make them appear dumb and homophobic so they act like they ship it or understand it while giving hnta as much importance as sske in naruto's life. Sometimes they think only sske has feelings for narto and narto chose hnta over him. Or think hinta is the less toxic choice and sske is the toxic ex. Lol. Yeah I have no patience for people who pretend Hinata is as important to Naruto as Sasuke. Naruto barely remembered her existence in the manga unless she was getting beaten left and right in front of him. Hinata is also selfish, I don't believe for a moment she would be "understanding" of closeted people. This is also why I dislike My Lost Himawari too because Hinata and Sakura are so ooc in it. I was on Twitter today and I saw some people say that the only reason why borusara's feelings are being lightly hinted is because boruto is not a romance manga and it's an action one so romance is not the main focus that's why borusara's feelings for each other aren't confirmed yet.

Now me personally, I disagree. I don't think that's the reason why their so called romantic feelings isn't confirmed. Naruto wasn't a romance manga either but at least some characters romantic feelings were confirmed many times (Sakura – Hinata) Same goes to other shonen mangas.(bleach,samurai x and so on)

But if it's like what they say then...What is stopping ikemoto/kishimoto from making borusara's feelings canon? Right now they're the most popular ship in the boruto fandom, majority of the fandom expects them to happen right? Wouldn't they be benefited from making it happen?

So what is stopping them from making borusara canon?

I will tell you my opinion. Borusara is just like Narusaku. Just like how SP pushed narusaku in the past they're now doing the same thing with borusara. (They can't even hide their favouritism 💀) Not only the anime but the boruto chibi manga(?) also throws in a lot of borusara moments. The same thing happened with narusaku which obviously made a lots of narusaku shippers confident abt their ship becoming canon.

SP even goes as far as deleting important sumire moments/borusumi moments and adding borusara & kawasumi moments. Same thing happened with NH too. And keep in mind the person who adds those borusara moments and keeps deleting any scene related to sumire is Noriyuki Abe.

The same person who directed bleach and ruined it for ih shippers/orihime stans. He's the one who always added those useless ir moments and mischaracterized orihime. I also heard that kubo did not like the anime adaptation bc of the changes and he felt like this wasn't the story he wrote. Now same thing is happening with boruto💀

You use the excuse that the relationship is dead, or that Sasuke is a shitty husband or father, or that Sakura is a shitty wife or some shit about her character and achievements, blah blah blah, I read a post about it and the person admitted they haven't watched Boruto, so they have zero idea of what's actually happening.

Sasuke, for one, isn't a shitty husband. Yes I will admit he is absent, but he feels deeply guilty for it, and tries his hardest to make up for it in the way he can.

Sasuke being a deadbeat dad, is so far from the truth that is actually shocks me. People say he only trains Boruto, which is very much not true. He trains sarada quite frequently. An example of this being the fact, he came back for the chunin exams to watch her, he actually states that to her and Sakura. He teaches her chadori (I can't spell it okay? Gimme a break) and water style actually. And it's even in the novels that when he does come home, he spends a lot of time with her, training her or even just spending time with her in general.

The idea he is a shitty husband, is so far from the truth, and you clearly have zero understanding of his character. (Also while where on this note, I would like to add; he would treat Naruto exactly the same as he treats Sakura, if him and naruto where canon that's the truth) he does small but powerful gestures to show his love and care for her. Such as tapping her forehead, holding her hand, saying thank you to her (which is the Japanese way of saying I love you), protecting her, eating the food she makes him and complementing it. There's more but I'm not gonna list em all here.

Now onto Sakura.

This idea that her achievements are fanon and not canon are just..insane to me.

Its literally stated in data books, anime and novels that not only is Sakura the head of the hidden leaf hospital, but she also OWNS hospitals/child mental health services in the sand and leaf.

It's stated that she is one of, if not the best medical nin, in the leaf and practically everywhere else.

She's also fought and defeated mostly everyone she's ever battled against. (not including Sasuke bc let's be real, that was not even a fight)

She's known for having monster strength, or superhuman strength.

She went up against shin, who had so many bloody sharigans he may as well be called Danzo 2.0 and kicked his ass.

Shes saved the lives of thousands.

Writing Sakura and Hinata in character would make ppl think you hate them for being in the way of your yaoi ship. They gonna put you in the mysoginist box as Kishimoto because "How dare you give those innocents pretty girls any flaws?! They just want to love their men, they are doing nothing wrong!"

I'm tired of reading fics where Sakura is understanding as soon as she learns about SNS secret relationship. Tired of people showing Hinata being understanding and moving on fast and finding a new man (often Kiba) as if she wouldnt cry herself to death because Naruto-kun dont love her.

Wished fanfic writers explored more about Sakura's loneliness and her regret and frustration. On one side, she is happy to be "married" to Sasuke but on the other side, deep down, she is probably feeling fucking lonely and stupid because he is never home and ppl probably talks behind her back about her husband who is never home and who probably cheat on her, and how she looks so miserable.

Like, lets be realistic.

My headcanon is that Sasuke hopes that the distance he puts between them will finally makes Sakura snaps and "cheat" on him while he is absent. He realized he will never be free as long as she dont realize herself bc she is too selfish to notice her "husband"is unhappy by her side.

I find it very ironic when female fans fight for these two ladies. Like when they self insert into these women, what do they get out of it? It's so masochistic. Ss and Nh have no love to speak of. None. But the force of wish fulfilment is so strong with these fans, they would gladly ignore or dismiss everything canon. And while I understand people would do a lot to preserve something that gives them so much pleasure, including denying things left and right without an iota of introspection or soul searching, the fact that they deny something that actually is of worth (SNS), that is emblematic of selfless love and devotion, that is a result of one of the most heart rending, impactful and meaningful love stories ever written in the history of fiction, it just breaks my heart and inflames it with rage at the same time. I just get very emotional. It's cruel to my boys. It's fucking unfair. They don't deserve this. It's fucking disrespectful to them. And when antis just run their mouths without understanding their story or their characterization or what it means to people who do understand them, I feel like ripping them apart. But also, requesting them to be more....human? More emotionally generous? More honest? To search within their own hearts as to what it really means to be that lonely and to finally find love in the other that everyone else denied them, including their own families? Anything that works.

How can they be so cruel to my boys? It's their story at the end of the day. Like what did Kishi even miss? He went to hell and back, he left no stones unturned to tell their story. But fans would just....dismiss it and demean it and disrespect it and call shippers delusional and horny and whatnot...and for what? Hinata and Sakura? Those two, that in almost any other media, would definitely be condemned for their actions and general behaviour, not just towards the boys but others? But because they weren't here, for obvious reasons, they are being venerated as some female role models that they are actually the opposite of?

Mind boggles. It ain't done man. Not if I have a say in it. Not here.

I agree that Sakura feels lonely and bereft. But she still hasn't done anything to change things. Which shows that she doesn't want to, because having Sasuke as a trophy is way more important to her than being loved and respected. Or even liked. She married his status, and she would rather live with the glory that 'achievement' bestows on her than doing anything to actually make herself and her family truly happy.

Both Sakura and Hinata are too self absorbed to notice how unhappy their husbands are with them. And neither one cares. If they really loved them, they would have strived to actually know them, because neither Sasuke nor Naruto are dishonest people. Naruto almost always wears his emotions on his sleeve. Sasuke also lets it show when he is happy and fulfilled. We have seen both of them when they were happy and now, when they are sad and dejected. And we can tell the difference. And if these ladies had bothered to do that, they would have never gotten married to them. But they weren't written to be that way. Not in their characters. From the start. So now we have this mess of a situation and no one is happy. Well, Hinata is. Because she is just way too selfish and oblivious and dumb to understand anything that doesn't directly concern her.

No one still has provided any actual sources for either of those interviews and since there are many fake ones I'll doubt them. There's literally a fake interview that says Kishi originally meant to put Sasuke with Karin that people still pass as legit. Also, let's not pretend these seiyuus aren't supposed to promote the canon pairings as well. Literally, they keep saying how the manga isn't about romance yet everyone kept talking about PAIRINGS even 3 years since the manga ended and assuring everyone how everything was "totally" planned. If it's planned it wouldn't need to be justified by SJ all the time. Did you see Toriyama or Togashi have multiple interviews how they totally planned their main character to end up with someone? Or any other shonen mangaka?

Anyway let's look at how "consistent" Kishimoto is with being honest in his interviews:

This interview is from 2014. He says Sakura was brought in as heroine.

This interview is from 2017. So suddenly Sakura went from heroine to not anymore special than someone like Kiba lmao.

So this is what he said at the end of 2014. Apparently he was considering NaruSaku. Also he says "we" ? So I guess the staff has an opinion on the endgame as well. So much for SS being planned since the start.

2017. "Never thought"? When you said three years ago you and the staff considered it.

So here in 2015 you say it was decided around in the middle. But then in 2017, it was suddenly the early stages.

From 2015 (same interview where he said NH was decided from the middle). If Kishi can lie to his own wife, what stops him from lying in general? To be honest he's probably laughing in his pile of cash at everyone fuming and fighting over his interviews. If even his main character's endgame wasn't decided what makes people think SS was. Also it wouldn't change the fact he didn't put it on paper, it's actually worse if he had 15 years of time to develop it and he did nothing.

The above interview was in 2006. Where does his brother fit exactly? Or his wife? This was also written before Kushina appeared, whom Kishi said was "kind of like his wife, scary". The second interview is from early 2014. So Naruto is Kishi himself and his wife is Naruto's... mother? Why don't people freak out about this? Regardless, Kishi can write brother relationships that are clearly just brotherly, like Hashirama/Tobirama, Sai/Shin, Itachi/Sasuke. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship isn't like them. It's romantic, which is why so many people, even people who don't ship, even straight men, point out how gay they are.

Also Kishi straight up sexualizes Sasuke and also wanted to draw them kissing because "no one had done it before"? Why would anyone sexualize or want to draw their self insert kiss someone that's supposedly their brother. Hello? And let's not forget how he watches the anime and sees all those opening and endings and doesn't feel like saying "umm that's me and my sibling, please don't do that". I didn’t say SNS = Sasuke exclusion and Naruto wanking, I said it’s based off a lot of that. More so the shippers than the ship itself (But that’s really the case with sasuke in a lot of ships and that is why I don’t particularly associate with any shipping fandom..but sns takes the cake lol) . The fandom consists of mainly naruto uzumaki stans (and i love him!! I love the sunshine boy but no fav is perfect) with a blind sense of hero worship. They view Naruto as this untainted perfect guy who can do no wrong, that saved~ sasuke using the power of 

Like sasukes entire existence revolves around him, like he begins and ends with him, like he is the only thing that matters to him, like he is obsessed with him

(no matter how unhealthy that sounds lol), like sasuke as an entity can only exist codependent to naruto. It’s hard to articulate what point i am trying to get across but some examples I can think of at the top of my head 

-Something they bring up a lot ‘sasuke cared more about naruto than itachi in the reunion arc’ and it’s literally???? Sasuke, was of course worried to hear his best friend is target to a man who murdered his entire family but the entire volume (17) was filled with flashbacks of the time sasuke’s entire family was murdered. He headed towards itachi with his sharingan activated because of the sheer emotion caused by ‘that man’ being there. When he saw itachi it was blind rage and hurt because after all this itachi ignored him…and ofc we all know what happened next. It gets annoying seeing such a massive sasuke moment get turned into hE lOveS nAruTo sO mUCh. I don’t see Sasuke stans attempt to make Narutos rasengan scene about Sasuke?? Why is Sasuke getting mentally tortured turned into lOvE??

-They praise Naruto for the first fight and it’s like? How can you sleep on the fact that Naruto just told sasuke he would break every bone in his body to make him understand his feelings of wanting to bring him back…but it’s okay because he said he’s doing it beCauSe HE’s A fRiEnD. 

-’Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto because he is his oNLY frIEND the ONE he CaRES ABOUT THE MOST’ Naruto is Sasukes best friend, given fact. But Sasuke never showed any discrimination in how much he cares about the members of team 7..he loves all of them..any of them would have awakened mangekyo for him as shown when he awoke kagatsuchi during his Bee fight and the fact that whenever he thinks about team 7 he always thinks about all them is further proof. I do think some factor of it was at the end he couldn’t kill his best friend while he was helpless, but sasuke doesn’t really lie about his feelings- he is pretty straight forward usually.

I still ship SNS by the way, it gets a pass because Naruto always tirelessly wanted to understand sasuke..he also wanted to end the cycle of hatred and stop history from repeating itself which is pretty noble. In terms of sasuke, growing up and seeing naruto trying to bond with people gave him hope and I think thats beautiful. The bond they share represents so many themes of the story, it’s kind of like they are a ‘it all leads to this’ type thing. Their dynamic is also hella cute and they had some cute ass moments as kids.The bond is also real deep, its like soul deep. The relationship itself is very unhealthy because theyre both insisting they are right and one of them tries to shove his opinion down the others throat and the other reacts violently to it. After it’s resolve its great tho so there we go it was worth it. I love sns despite how messy it is but the fandom has it’s hand far up it’s own ass and feeds itself its own bullshit. They claim they are ‘real’ fans and pretend they own this fictional ass guy yet use him to wank their fave..yet erase some of his most important bonds and character arcs to wank their fav. It’s ugly and i want no part of it.

Damn I read some of previous ask/answers and I can't help but wonder why Naruto fandom is so unfortunate and at each other's throats so often. I mean, one thing is disliking a ship of something specific about it, but another haressing fic writers, artists and even original anime staff. And instead of seeing Naruto work towards becoming Hokage, as there was a lot more to it, we get this bullshit… and yet a lot of us can’t help but read/watch/secretly side-eye his demolished, adult self to see what’ll happen. 

That in itself already says a lot. 

Naruto.. if it had stopped at Chapter 699 or if they left it open-ended in another, similar way, then nothing of the sort would’ve happened. The SNS fandom would’ve been satisfied with the nested story within Naruto as we picked up on it already, SS and NH never happened anyway and for sure the War Arc would’ve turned out differently.  

Right now Naruto and Sasuke are dumbed down only to fit two girls who are in love with them, which means a guy should reciprocate otherwise he’s an asshole, right? Also.. babies. NH aren’t satisfied because Naruto is “a bad father, never at home, doesn’t show love for Hinata” which makes him an asshole anyway they say. SS aren’t satisfied because Sasuke is “a bad father, never at home, doesn’t show love for Sakura” but he isn’t an asshole he’s just Tsundere. (I’m being sarcastic). And non-shippers aren’t satisfied because: what the fuck. 

So I absolutely agree with everything you say! I’m just not surprised that the separation within the fandom has always been so prominent.

By spoon-feeding every single “group” a little bit of ‘content’ here and there with phenomenal timing from the marketing team, that is literally what they’re creating as that is what has been a huge source of income for so long. And the dissatisfaction is what eventually makes them go to Twitter and harass the company for more content.

That’s never okay, but they’re also kind of asking for it since they’re giving it to them easily too and they know it. Soon they’ll come back for more. *Sigh*

As you ask the last question about Neji and NH, how there was NEVER chemistry between these 3 ,I mean it was never the kind of dynamic where Neji play as cupid for these 2 to be together (despite his only moment of his death, and even here he sacrifices for Hinata who was going to die, Kishi just say NH bc yolo) NEJI never talk about Hinata and her feelings, or pep talk about her with Naruto.

On the other hand, I think sometimes it's forgotten but he is one of the most SNS shippers.

Neji encouraged Naruto multiple times in order to save Sasuke, saying He was the only one who could save Sasuke from the Dark.

Also, how couldn't Neji say this to Sakura or talk about Hinata to Naruto ? -with Sakura in part 1 they don't even talk but he was a witness of her feelings for Sasuke, he saw the back hug in death forest, he saw her fight inn chunnin , and etc, he knew ... though he says multiple times Naruto is the only one who can save Sasuke...interesting 😍 and he knew Hinata blushed like a tomato with Naruto, maybe Neji perceived that Naruto was never interested??

Actually Itachi, Orochimaru, Haku are the biggest SNS shippers in Narutoverse. Because they saw something between N & S after spending just 5 minutes with them.... 

I think in the Manga, Neji said it once about saving Sasuke.

And in the Anime, just to make Neji to sign out of the series in a dignified way rather than a 'Torch Holder' for NH, they added him in the beginning of the VoTE2 battle as a person who encourages Naruto to save Sasuke. 

But I think that's about it!!! Or was I missing something???

Even that, the Anime spoiled his image again during the Wedding Episodes where Neji comes in Lee’s dream to suggest what Gift to present for Hinata’s Wedding. ***PUKE***

As for Shikamaru....

Sakura loving Sasuke is a widely known thing. It's not like Shikamaru has to point it out. Even if he was completely blind in both eyes, he could find out that Sakura and Ino loved Sasuke because of the way they go Gaga over him back from the Academy Days.... To be honest, Shikamaru and Chouji shipped Sasuke with Ino many times during the Chunin Exams. 

If we go by those SS peeps’ stupid logic, then Shikamaru is shipping SNS here,

This is right after Sasuke Reunion Arc.... Why did he talk about saving Sasuke to Naruto instead of Sakura who was standing just next to him along with Ino???? Look at Naruto’s face... LOL... 

Or in this moment.... Shikamaru is shipping Sasuke with Ino, Sakura and Naruto...

So Shikamaru knew that hurting Sasuke will affect Sakura, Ino and Naruto... Can we take this as a shipping moment???

When Sakura made that fake confession, even Kiba, Yamato, Lee looked utterly shocked. 

Because they know it. Even Naruto knows about Sakura's feelings that she loves Sasuke. Naruto is not a dumb idiot as many people assumes him to be. He knows who loves who and what kind of love it is.

When Haku asks about precious people to Naruto, he immediately thinks about every incident he experienced so far. Although he thought about Sasuke like this for about million times in part 1 and part 2...

Throughout the Manga, Naruto never thought about Sakura in this manner...  (he thought about her promise during Sasuke Retrieval Arc in part 1)... And then this one time in Part 2....!!!!

Naruto knew about Sakura’s love on Sasuke right from the day Team 7 was formed. And this is not the only time...

So... Anyways.... People knowing about Sakura loving Sasuke is not a new thing.... Every Jack and Jill in her Academy knew it. So, Shikamaru pointing that, “Even you couldn’t stop him, Right?” is not a ship moment. I see it as a way where Shikamaru thinks that ‘A Girl’s tears could sway a Man’s heart.... So, even Sakura’s tears couldn’t stop him”....  So, That’s how I see it. If they take it as a Ship moment... that’s fine... I would rather prefer to have valid Manga panels as proofs. 

But I think nobody knew about Sasuke’s feelings or cared to know about. Though, I believe Naruto always knew Sasuke never liked Sakura. Otherwise, Naruto would have mentioned about her in VoTE1... Whereas he didn’t fail to mention Shikamaru, Chouji, Neji and Kiba’s names before Sasuke. 

I never saw Neji as an SNS shipper at any time. Because, Neji knew about being rescued from Darkness because he fought against Naruto in Chuunin Exams. So, he believed that Naruto can do that for Sasuke as well.

And the most important reason why I really couldn’t consider Neji as an SNS shipper is because of this Panel....

He always knew Hinata had some feelings for Naruto because of his battle against her during Chuunin Exams. Otherwise why would he ask her to go see Naruto when he was about to leave the Village along with Jiraiya??? Sigh!!!!

Whereas with Itachi and Orochimaru, it’s quite different. They were never saved by Naruto nor had any prior conversation with him... They just had one interaction between both of these boys... Orochimaru, in Forest of the Death... Itachi, when he came back to the Village and they saw something which we audience don’t even know what it was... and those characters started to ship them immediately. Just like how Haku shipped them in Land of the Waves. 

And what’s more fun is that, Itachi, Orochimaru and Haku shipped SNS from both the sides.... Like Itachi telling Naruto, “I am leaving Sasuke in your hands”.... And at the same time teasing Sasuke, “I am not the one who is going to change you, Sasuke”..... 

Similarly Haku taunting Sasuke, “It seems that kid (Naruto) has reached the limit”... And later conveying Sasuke’s true feelings to Naruto, “To protect a precious person, knowing it was a trap, he was still willing to jump in”......

This is what I think Shipping should be. Not Shikamaru and Neji acknowledging the one sided feelings of Sakura and Hinata. But I must appreciate Neji for not pushing Hinata’s feelings to Naruto throughout Part 1 and Part 2...until the War Arc....

I think the reason he never pushed her towards Naruto was because he was not interested in those stuffs... Like he is totally a practical person who focuses on what was needed rather than paying attention to these trivial stuffs. He is almost similar to Sasuke in this aspect.

We know Boruto is a bad piece of work. But even today, I see people complaining about Sakura and how wasted her potential was. I saw a -poor- like analysis about her about the last episode of the anime. It was about how she talked to Sasuke on the roof when she gives him the news that Naruto woke up, they said this could be an interesting occasion for SS to develop their bond and I agree, instead the focus was on Naruto and Sasuke paid attention to her when she mentioned Naruto name. (Tho this account wasnt SS friendly) but they said that this wasted opportunity was because of the bad writing.

I mean we know Boruto is really bad and inconsistent, but it's really funny that when it comes about Sakura they pull the bad writing card. Like why Sakura is bad written? What did she do or didn't do that they say she is bad written? She is absolutely consistent the entire work , even in boruto she is still the same.

Sasuke and Sakura don't have anything in common to talk about, how could they talk so casual when the ship was really forced? The ship yes it's caused by bad writing, let's deal with it. But if in Boruto they are consistent about their personalities, and they are not lovey dovey because they are not meant to, specially Sasuke, how can be this bad writing? Again Boruto is shit, but complaining about just Sakura bc of this, and because her lack of phycological skills for dealing with someone even as a doctor, doesn't mean she is bad written. She never showed like the skills of a therapist even lol.

My only question to those people, "What is there to develop?"

If I am being honest, their relationship was developed from Naruto chapter 1 to 700. Whatever they want, they got it already. What do they want to see now?? Like Sakura shamelessly wetting over Sasuke again???? Or do they want Sakura and Sasuke sharing Pillow Talk????Just Give us a break!!!

This is a battle manga, for God's Sake. It's not a family drama where you will see Husband and Wife having their lovey-dovey scenes very often. If this series was all about Sasuke, SakuTrash and Salad, then this is possible. Except that it's not!!!! It's all about Boruto and Kawaki, Naruto and Sasuke, Sarada and Mitsuki to an extent.

And they should be happy that they got atleast that hospital roof scene which was not in the Manga. If I were a true SS shipper I would be angry for another strong reason.

It looks like Sasuke was sulking on top of the hospital but the moment Naruto’s name was brought up, you get his attention. Well, as an SNS’er it’s heartwarming. But If I were an SS shipper, I would have expected such reaction for Sarada as well, because she was also injured. Why don’t they expect something for Sarada? Why the fuck they fret over developing Pinky’s relationship with Sasuke???? I just don’t get it.

Logically speaking, even though Anime can add few extra scenes for SS in the canon episodes, they cannot tread so far away from the Manga. If Sasuke doesn't interact much with SakuTrash in the Manga, then their interaction in the Anime will also looks shallow.

Why?

Normally, they should have been angry for making this following scene into nothing. In the Manga,

Sakura will also be in this scene taking care of Sarada. Sasuke and Sarada will speak about Boruto’s Karma.

Anime could’ve easily made this scene into a good heartwarming family scene. Like both mom and dad taking care of their hospitalized daughter. But it seems none of those SS shippers are bothered by this. Why can’t they be angry for erasing a family scene from the Manga??? And what’s worse, it’s supposed to be a scene between Sarada and Sasuke and yet all they talked about was Boruto!!!! Are those fans seriously not angry over this scene???

Instead they are fretting over an extra scene. All they care about is to have some hot and steamy scene between Sasuke and Pinky. They really don’t care about Salad at all.!!! Pathetic!!

In Naruto series, the only character which suffered because of Bad Writing was Uchiha Madara. Dot. 

Madara had a lot of potential, like the build up to introduce him was excellently handled. And he should have been the final villain and it would have satisfied me so much, but instead they butchered his character to bring some Alien Shit called Kaguya. 

Other than that, every character was carefully handled with consistent writing. Especially Sakura. If Kishimoto decided to make her more likeable, he should have did something in the beginning of Part 2. It would have been totally believable. People change during their teenage years and Sakura changing her attitude during Time Skip would have been better for the storyline. 

But he intentionally did not!!! How is this called Bad Writing???

Just because your favourite character is not doing something what you expect, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad writing.

SNS were beaten in the fight because they want to make Young Gremlins to shine. And Naruto and Sasuke were basically protecting the village and hence their skills are pretty sharpened most of the time and yet they couldn’t make a dent on Jigen. This pink trash is not even going for any missions and all she does is dusting her home decorated with Uchiha Clan symbol all over (No offense to any housewives here. But her fans are building her up like some superior Ninja but all she does is staying in her home and flirting with Sasuke. So, there’s no way a retired ninja from field battle is capable of doing any shit other than healing. And I fucking don’t want her being a burden on Naruto or Sasuke. Am done with that trash.).

Anyways, lets play a game... Shall we?

As you all know my favourite character in this series is Uchiha Itachi with Sasuke comes next and Naruto after that. 

Even if many of you accept it or not, Itachi is one of the most powerful character in this series in terms of Jutsu. Am not playing favourite card here. Even if you analyze his jutsus, he was stronger than Naruto and Sasuke till his final death after releasing Edo Tensei. Naruto and Sasuke may have surpassed him only after Rikkudou sennin power up. Until then Itachi was the superior one. Because his Susanoo has that reflecting mirrors plus Totsuka Blade which seals everything he pierces, He could cast powerful Tsukuyomi. In both of the departments, Sasuke is inferior. 

[[God!!! It even hurts me more to think that Naruto or Sasuke never got to surpass their predecessors and before that they were Nerfed like clowns just to make these shitty gremlins shine!!! Ooof!!! anyways]]
