Idk why fans , including the boys fandom, have a problem with this, but I love that we're seeing relationships, like some relatives and friends of mine, where both parties are just "no thanks, I'm not about that" becoming more common in the art/story world. Hell, we're even seeing more individuals in fiction doing the same as well, it makes me feel seen. This type of life doesn't suit them, they actually don't want to raise kids and they don't want the mother/father role. Having (a) kid(s) is/are a responsibility, and I don't want that responsibility. I don't have it in me to be responsible of a human like this. I'm a loving pibling, but I'm not parent material! Fuck them kids!

maybe not the 'fuck them kids' part but i def see what you're sayin' here. there's a lot of cultural stigma around and reinforcing the 'cis straight racially monotone nuclear family unit' while degrading anything that doesn't fit the predetermined and religiously approved mold.

and we are STILL to this day combatting that both in fiction and reality to get people who don't 'fit in' to that seen and heard.

what i think is vastly more important is that *healthy* families and relationships are valued and given some positive limelight, whether they be single parent, childless, gay, straight, found, adoptive/foster, mixed, the list goes on and on.

and it is so fucking valid, and so fucking important that we get more than just 'only nuclear family valid no matter if crazy toxic and people suffer'

and this is coming from someone who LOVES loves LOVES is obsessed mpreg and making huge big beautiful family units that are half found, half nuclear, sometimes moar~<3 amalgamations of LOVE and people working through problems together but learning to understand one another<3

if people aren't parent material, it is fine for them to recognize that and choose not to have kids. if people CAN'T have kids, they don't deserve to be dehumanized for the fact, and SOME people do NOT fucking deserve children AT ALL, so yeah, def feel you on this
